Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Let's start with a quick puzzle. The answer is Ken Jennings' appearance on The Puzzler with A.J. Jacobs. The question is, what is the most entertaining listening experience in podcast land? Jeopardy-truthers believe in... I guess they would be conspiracy theorists. That's right. To give you the answers and you still blew it.
Starting point is 00:00:27 The Puzzler. Listen on the I-Heart. radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's Black Business Month, and Money and Wealth Podcast with John Hope Bryant is tapping in. I'm breaking down how to build wealth, create opportunities, and move from surviving to thriving. It's time to talk about ownership, equity, and everything in between. Black and brown communities have historically been last in life. Let me just say this, AI is moving faster than civil rights legislation ever did.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Listen to Money and Wealth from the Black Effect Podcast Network on IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. When I became a journalist, I was the first Latina in the newsrooms where I worked. I'm Maria Inojosa. I spent my career creating journalism that centers voices who have been historically sidelined. From the most pressing news stories to deep cultural explorations, Latino USA is journalism with heart. Listen to Latino USA, the longest running. Latino news and culture show in the United States. Hear it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Hey guys, it's Jeney, aka Cheekies from Cheeky's and Chill Podcasts. And I'm bringing you an all new mini podcast series called Sincerely Jenae. Sure, I'm a singer, author, businesswoman, and podcaster, but at the end of the day, I am human. And that's why I'm sharing my ups and downs with you in real time and on the go. Listen to Jikis and Chill on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Look, man. Where?
Starting point is 00:02:08 Oh, I see. Wow. Bowen, look over there. Wow. Is that culture? Yes. Oh, my goodness. Wow.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Las cultureistas. Ding-dong. Las Culturistas calling. Welcome to Provincetown, everyone. We're going to see you there. Interesting. No one has come up to us and saying that. Does that mean it didn't stand the test of time?
Starting point is 00:02:32 Look, we're going to keep coming back until it catches on. Tourism board, you don't have to pay us a red cent. All I know is we'll be here a couple days after this comes out. If no one comes up to us and sings, Provincetown, we're going to see you there. We'll just know that we're not accepted here.
Starting point is 00:02:52 This is a thing. I don't need to be embraced, accepted by anyone but me. But the fact is, we have been raised by the community. We just had a wonderful time. Oh, lovely. We went down to Women Crafts, Provincetown. We presented them with the award for the Jamie Lee Curtis Award for Gusto
Starting point is 00:03:10 Enthusiasm and Individuality. It was a wonderful moment. Michelle got on the megaphone for the daily queer moment of joy, moment of joy. Which happens. 12.34 p.m. every day. And we were very, very honored to present her the award. And, of course, we stopped. into the shop. And, God, it was just a really beautiful experience.
Starting point is 00:03:32 And we had a lovely time at The Crown and Anchor played bingo with Paige Turner, hosted by Paige Turner. Didn't win bingo. Yeah, what's that about? I actually, my honor thinks so honey later. You know what I do like? And this is something I didn't really know in culture until we went last year somewhere where we played bingo.
Starting point is 00:03:51 The bingo markers? Yeah, I like the bingo marker. Totally. I like that. And do people really just own bingo markers to have when they play bingo? If you're a bingo person. If you're a bingo person, if you are finding yourself at, let's say, communities that embrace the mature set. Trust and believe there's a bin full of bingo markers.
Starting point is 00:04:15 But, you know, did you ever have this growing up? Like on my hands. Oh, yeah. I can't do anything. You have it all over you, too. Look at your forearms. Oh, yeah. There you go.
Starting point is 00:04:25 We're covered in bingo shit. We've got evidence of the crime. Evidence of the craft. Of the craft, women crafts. We'll get to the evidence of the crime later because this forewarning will be an episode about the originally stars show turned Netflix mega head, The Hunting Wives.
Starting point is 00:04:47 We have watched all of the hunting wives on this province town journey because you know you go on vacation with your friends, you pick something to watch. we started hunting wives and I had said on a previous episode I did the first episode I had no interest
Starting point is 00:05:03 and I had no interest but then honestly it's a messer I enjoyed it I don't regret watching it I'm still gonna sit with like the camp value of it obviously it's a camp
Starting point is 00:05:16 it's high nutrition value for camp as for the other macros I'm not sure what do you mean by that As for, I don't know, we were just finding ourselves like, but wait a minute, if this person is this person and their dad was this, but the mom was that, it was that kind of thing. But that's not what the point of the show is. And I have to actually- Would you call it right-wing, big little lies? It's Red State Big Little Lies.
Starting point is 00:05:40 It is sort of, it is sort of pushing forward this new market for, like, red state content, which, you know, is just, that's just the reality we're living in. It was kind of giving, like, if you have a gun, you'll be okay. But it was also giving queer rights. Like, almost every other scene was box eating. Is eating box? And I have to say, let's just, we're, okay, we're getting into it. This is officially the hunting wives portion of the show. Begin, begin.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Brittany Snow, you will always be famous. Wait, can I say, like, in a real way, Britney Snow tore. I love Britney Snow. Oh, we've loved. her since the beginning. Can we talk about this? Like, did you remember, like, did they do, like, back in the day
Starting point is 00:06:28 when it was, like, American Dreams? Remember American Dreams? Of course I remember American Dreams. Mandy Moore, also. Whoa. Vehicle. Um, was it actually? No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:06:40 American Dreams was a movie. Mandy Moore was in American Dreams. Yeah, I'm talking about American Dreams the TV show that Britney Snow is in. Oh, I'm sorry. We can't take this out. We can't take this out. That's okay, but we were both right in a way.
Starting point is 00:06:51 In a way, we're both right. American Dreams was Amanda Moore, but American Dreams was Britney Snow's, like, first thing when she was, I believe, a teen. And I said, I know that girl's a star. Oh, yeah. I've waited in the wings for Britney to snow to get this opportunity. Well, of course.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I mean, she's not new to this. She's true to this. You didn't know from John Tucker Must Die. I always knew. From X. Let's be forget, pitch perfect. And I'm not, I'm on record as not necessarily. being a pitch-perfect super fan.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Interesting. But I think that I had to do with other things other than... It certainly had to do with other things other than Britney Snow. Totally. I am a Britney Snow fan. We are snorting up the snow that is Brittany. I'm a snow addict. I'm a snow addict.
Starting point is 00:07:40 I'm a Snow Addie. I'm a Snow Queen for Britney. I'm a Snow Bunny for Miss Brittany. And for all my Kingdom Hearts heads... Stop. Is she also involved in Kingdom Hearts? I've told you this. No, but I forget.
Starting point is 00:07:50 She's nominee. She is Hayden Panetteer's counterpart. Whoa. I get that for them. So, Kyrie, Hayden Panetteer's character, spoiler alert, gets turned into a heartless in the first game, which means that her heart is corrupted by Maleficent. Holy shit. And any time a heartless is created into the world, a nobody gets left behind, which is the body, the husk that gets left behind when the heart is extracted and turn into a dark being. Kyrie turns back to herself.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Oh, my God. But Nominee was created in the process. and Nomine is voiced by Brittany Snowman, guess what? She draws. She's an illustrator. And Nominee is huge in the lore for her and, for her and that casting director, can we just,
Starting point is 00:08:31 the casting director of Kingdom Hearts, the series is, was a gay man, we have to, we have to gay guys create culture. And we're in Provincetown. And we're going to start saying it. We're not going to stop saying it. If you're a gay guy, congratulations.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Stand up. If you're a gay guy, right now, stand up. If you're driving in your car and you're a gay man, stand up in the car. Pull on to the side of the road. You create a culture. I mean, I will keep telling you.
Starting point is 00:08:59 It's Hayden Penitier. It's Britney Snow. It's Haley Joel Osmond. It's Jesse McCartney. Wow. Wasn't there someone else? Billy Zane. Oh, Billy Zane is huge to the culture.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Yes, Mandy Moore. David Boreenus. Uh-huh. Not Jonathan Bailey. Not Jonathan Bailey. That was a different one. Jonathan Maylis Phaunton, also a square unit's game. But, um, and then also...
Starting point is 00:09:23 Yeah, you guys made that, too. Lance Bass as Sephiroth. Of course. Oh, Lance Bass as Sephiroth. I'm telling you, this task is gay. In terms of words together, I'll never forget Lance Bass as Sepharov. You know, I've met Britney Snow. She doesn't remember this.
Starting point is 00:09:38 But you guys met at a very queer place. We met... See, this is how I knew the hunting wives was going to eventually one day become a thing. I met Britney Snow in passing. at a Moona concert at the Greek. And I was on a date with America's Got Talent, contestant, Benjamin, Captain Benjamin High Tower. Benjamin High Tower.
Starting point is 00:09:59 So when you met her at the Moona concert some time ago, through friends. Through friends. You had a thought, Pop, I put in your mind where you said, I know hunting life is going to be a thing. All I knew was, I was like, she's at Moona. That rocks, and she was surrounded by lesbian women. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:13 And I was like, okay, love this. And I remember I walked away. I was excited to be on a date with such a handsome man. And we walked away, and I was trying to impress him, low-key. Nothing better than being on a date with him. Nothing better. And he goes, I think that was Britney Snow. And I go, no, it was Britney Snow.
Starting point is 00:10:27 And we went back to our chairs at the Moona concert. Do you know who we sat in front of? Share. No. Later on, years later, my vocal coach, Doug Pack, who helped us at the Culture Awards. So that was a big night. And they performed since you've been gone. Muna covered since you've been gone.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Britney Snow was there. I was on a date with Captain Benjamin Hightower who sang Pink Pony Club on America's Got Talent. Years later, we were in front of Doug Peck who helped us sing the songs at the Cultural Awards. This was a movement, not a moment. That was one of those nights. Where do you think Malin Ackerman was that night?
Starting point is 00:11:06 Mellon Ackerman also starred Huntington. I think she was somewhere getting ready. Yeah. Can we say we've been having a big Malin Ackerman moment over these past couple of days watching her because you reach back into your mind into the annals of your mind and you realize how much Melan Ackerman has been there.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Absolutely. She was the comeback. She was Juna. She was Junea and the comeback. She was... Baby girl! She was... Catherine Heigle's sister in 27 dresses.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Yes, she was. You loved her in that. Silk Spector, too. Watchmen, of course. Just an icon. An icon. I'm... So, to talk about the show,
Starting point is 00:11:43 it's one of the craziest shows in American history. Yeah. The wigs. are out of control. I'll say it. The wardrobe, the production design.
Starting point is 00:11:58 I'm going to say cinematography. And I'm going to give it up for the VFX. Some of the gruesome moments had to have been VFX. And it's so gruesome. It's gruesome.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Can I say it's one of those things where you're like watching the show and you're like, oh no, certainly we're not going to watch that graphic of a sex scene or we're not going to see someone die that brutal late. Whoa. This is the number one show in the world, right? Currently, that is
Starting point is 00:12:26 something else and then it's Wednesday. Oh, sure, sure, sure, sure. And it was holding the top spot for a minute. But we're joining the hunting wives thing like a little bit late. But I think we needed it to simmer, I think.
Starting point is 00:12:42 And I mean, it's still simmer. We just finished it this morning. I loved it. I loved it. Great performances all around. Chrissy Mets, new discoveries for me. Can I say something? Consider this a spoiler alert.
Starting point is 00:12:57 I can't believe they did Chrissy Mets like that. An Emmy-nominated actress. And the way her character sort of develops throughout the season is just so tough because it's like, well, you did her like that? You know what I mean? I also love that, like, this goes for everyone involved. the accent is like, up to you. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:13:19 It's like, it's up to you if you want to do the Texas accent. Do you think every take was... Let's do a fun run. Let's just do one for fun. I was like, let's do one for fun and just pretend you know what the accent is. And we're not saying this about anyone in particular. We're just saying like across the board, like the accent seemed like it was optional. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:38 And that did mean halfway through a take you could just jump in or out of it. And I kind of loved... My theory is there is a character who is Britney Snow's child. And I think it was a test for the audience to see, like, can you tell that we're Olsen-twining this? Like, we're swapping this out for a different child actor every single time he's on screen. But I don't know. Maybe we're just not.
Starting point is 00:14:03 And you know what? It was enough of a thing where I was like, is Bowen right? Like, is that a different person? Yeah. I think I'm right. I'm not going to go back and do any digging on this. I just, whatever. When you know, you know.
Starting point is 00:14:17 And we know that hunting wives was a cultural event. I don't think I will watch it again, but definitely several people we were with on this trip. This was the second or third time they watched it. They were like, no, no, no, no, I'll watch it again to watch you guys watch it. Totally. I mean, does this scratch the itch of like a desperate housewife?
Starting point is 00:14:38 In a way. Yeah, that's what I thought. You know what I mean? It was like, oh, soapy, scandalous, can't be fun. Like, you can tell that they had fun. making it and like, you know, I'm checking all the socials from the cast and the crew and they're all like promoting the show and they're like, the show is insane. Enjoy. I'm like, okay, so they're all like, and that makes me think like they're all on the on the same page.
Starting point is 00:14:57 See, and that's my thing is I'm like, you have to remember that like people that are involved in these shows like, no, they're fucking crazy. That the shows are crazy. Yes. Yeah, of course. Hey guys, it's AZ Fudd. You may know me as a gold medalist. You may know me as an NCAA national champion and recent most outstanding player. Starting point is 00:16:41 Yeah, mine's brown-olar, but with an H. So it looks like brown-holer. Okay, that's, okay, yours might be worse. We can never get married. Yeah. Starting point is 00:18:34 Today we have a very special guest with us Our new Super Secret Bestie is The Deep of the People The Deep of the People I'm just like text your ex. My theory is that if you need to figure out that the stove is hot, go and touch it. Go and figure it out for yourself. Okay.

Listen to the Super Secret Bestie Club as a part of the Michael Thura podcast network available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your friends. podcast. We have to talk about a really shocking, pegging storyline.
Starting point is 00:19:21 This to me was, we rewound a lot of the show. For the Foley. But we needed to rewind this one scene several times just to make sure that we were all hearing what we thought we had heard. Do you want to describe it? There's a character. a couple who are very sexually liberated and, you know, it's quite nice, actually. I loved seeing it. I loved seeing it. There's a pegging moment and then really grounded intimacy because it was like there's an orgasm, a male, a penis orgasm, and then her part, his partner, she kind of like pulls her hand out from under the
Starting point is 00:20:11 covers. Yes. Kind of like checks, checks the grease on it. Yeah, checks to make sure, it, it, let's just say this. Confirms that there was ejaculate. Uh-huh. And then a woman pegs a man. When pegs a man, he comes, she pulls her hand out from his, from his, from his dick.
Starting point is 00:20:32 Yeah. Wipes the cum. Yep. She pulls out and the pullout is, the withdrawal is. This is the sound. and I'm sorry. Am I wrong? No.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Literally she pulls the peg out of her husband's butthole and this is literally, it's on Netflix. Go watch it. It's got to be what the seventh episode,
Starting point is 00:20:57 something like that? Yeah. That's the sound they make when she pulls out of his butthole. I said, has it ever been like that for you? Like, has that ever been the sound when someone pulled out?
Starting point is 00:21:09 I can't say. Although this character, the hole was on a big guy. Yeah. And so maybe that it, that's it. The acoustics are different depending on your height. A woman fucks her big husband. And when she pulls the peg out of his butthole, I wouldn't describe my, I wouldn't describe myself as having anal acoustics.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Just can't believe. No. That they sat in a room and were like, okay, so to make this moment really pop and feel real, what do we have to do? I what what is it um it's not but it's not going for realism I guess you're right you know like the wigs are an anchor the wigs are there to tell you by the way the wigs are there to tell you by the way um all of the the only apps these people use are Uber Instacart signal and then uh the only drinks any of these characters will be drinking
Starting point is 00:22:10 or a mimosa. It's a mimosa in every scene. Like if women are getting together to have like a cocktail and they're not drinking a mimosa, they're not watching this show. They're not watching this show. They're having a mimosa every time.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Or like some sort of yellow orange drink that's in like an alternate glass but like could be a mimosa. I mean, but let's just shout out all of these performances. What is her name? The actress that plays Callie. That's what I was just looking for
Starting point is 00:22:38 because I realized I wasn't. Yes, yes, yes. I wasn't up to the internet. She won the show. She won the show. Jamie Ray Newman. Fantastic. She won the show.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Katie Lowe's also, I think, doing great work. Katie Lowe's, it goes all the way back to Scandal. Oh, yeah. So overcommitted to what she's doing. Yes. Like, shout out Katie Lowe's. I have always loved you, even since Quinn on Scandal. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:02 And then we have to shout out Dermet, of course, an actor named Michael Aaron Milligan doing really brave work at a trailer door if you know you know showing full front Oh sure sure sure sure Yeah every episode
Starting point is 00:23:20 This show gives you something Where you're like Well I have to keep going Actually no it's fantastic We're not even being snarky about it We're just like We're still processing what we watched And it's phenomenal
Starting point is 00:23:31 There were parts where I was like Huh But then every single time we hit play on a new episode. I was thrilled. Only eight episodes, you can get right through it. There you go.
Starting point is 00:23:42 I mean, uh, we had very... And Britney Snow is legitimately good. No, truly fantastic work. And we, we've always been Britney Snow.
Starting point is 00:23:51 Snow, and you guys were all saying that I'm Malin. Yeah, you're Malin. Do you think I am? You know who you are? Abby.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I don't know if you're the murdered girl. Spoiler. You might be Dermann. No You hit me Spoiler I think I'm You know who you are
Starting point is 00:24:16 Your detective Wanda Salazar I'm Wanda Salazar You are There were too many characters in the show I think Yeah that's okay And that's what these need Like Desperate Housewives
Starting point is 00:24:28 I said how many Like 75 I love what they talked about The Lib Tards Right I can't just I can't tell Hell, if the show was like, should everyone have a gun or is it bad that everyone has a gun?
Starting point is 00:24:43 There's just so much casual violence and justified murder that you're like, well, thank God, this person had a gun. And I'm like, well, is gay sex the thing that leads to ruin? Or is it the thing that is beautiful and, you know, it's like, it really does kind of, it's a Roarck test to the audience. Yeah, it's equal parts queer rights and also gun. Right. It's Second Amendment and also Obergfell. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:25:08 I mean, at this point, I was on a date once, and this guy and I were just kind of like, you know what? Like, should we just like prepare ourselves? Should we like go to a shooting range? I have been wanting to go to a shooting range. I can't get, bring myself to own a gun. But I would like to go fire a gun just to know what it feels like, just to have an experience. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:30 I think that's all attainable. Do you want to go? Sure. You and I shoot a gun? and we're amazing at it that could be his sleigh we've become gun gays title of that
Starting point is 00:25:45 gun gays gun gungin more like gung gan oh my god gung gan jar jar binks we miss you king king you were one of the you were jar j binks was queer representation
Starting point is 00:25:58 in star wars it's really culture number 50 jar jar binks was queer representation in star wars and everyone wanted to kill him and queer representation in um the Galactic Senate. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:26:09 There was a Gungin in the Senate. Do you think Queen Amadala was a lesbian? I don't know that there was ever... Son of the Palpatine. Vice or I? Lys or I? I think...
Starting point is 00:26:22 Kind of lesbian. For Padma to have like body doubles, for Amadala, I'm sorry, to have body doubles. That had to have been like kind of like a little harem situation too. Like, you're going to be me and also we're going to... We're going to scissor.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Yeah. Yeah, I guess. So, I mean, I just don't know. Anakin, Timmy was gay. Explain. He was always whining and crying. And he was always like, like, and also Luke, like, Anakin, Luke. Like, I believe if there's a gay gene, the Skywalker's had it.
Starting point is 00:26:53 That's a little culture number 70. If there's a gay gene, I believe the Skywalkers had it. So that means all the way down to Leah. I'm not down to Leah. Leah and, oh, no, Ray was not a Skywalker. No, she was. No, she wasn't. Oh, she was a Palpatine.
Starting point is 00:27:10 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And, um, Kylo is Han Solo, yeah. Yeah, but she, but he was also a Skywalker. Wait, okay, now that we're, like, re-evaluate, now that we're being like a little bit more, I don't know, um, broad in our definition of camp. I mean, no, I mean, Honeyweens is clearly a camp show. Right as a Skywalker is a camp movie.
Starting point is 00:27:30 I've always said this. People need to put some respect. I have always said this. that Rise of Skywalker was camp and that when they kissed at the end that was that was when it got good. It's like everyone hates that movie for whatever reason and I'm like, guys, it's good.
Starting point is 00:27:43 If you hate that movie, you're a baby. If you leave any Star Wars movie and be like, like shut up you baby. Like, go read Ursula K. Laguin. A lot of people being babies lately. Can we just say that?
Starting point is 00:27:59 Hey, hey baby. You dropped your pass. You drop your pacifier on the goddamn ground. Put it in your mouth and get sick for all I care. I think, what would you call your inebriation level right now? I'm, level, I say. My level is level five. Level five.
Starting point is 00:28:19 I guess I have like a six or seven because I can handle a little bit more than you, even though I had a couple more drinks. Don't presume to know my knowledge. Presume innocent. How about that? I, I need to. I need to only ingest glutathione, beta alanine, creatine before a workout, protein isolate after.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Good luck. I need to, I need to, what goes in is just as important as what goes out. And what's, what goes out is people who pay top dollar. No, you know what I mean? Like I, I, I've described my shits recently as poisonous. Well, that is a diet thing, I'm sure. Yeah. What are you putting in?
Starting point is 00:29:04 What kind of things you are ordering late at night? Be honest. Taco ball bean burrito. You do a taco about? Is it because of marijuana at night? Yeah. Or, um, oh, I've been doing little, like, cheese plates at night while I'm watching my show. It's my programs.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Cheese plates? I'll do, like, a Monsego. I'll do, you know, a soft cheese. Until you wake up in the morning and it's not so good. And I'm way down, girl. I guess speaking of cheese and reactions to it, we should talk about the end just like that finale. Which I still have not watched.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Well, Bowen. I want you to speak freely. I actually will. Thank you. I know about, I've heard about Epcot played by the incredible Spike Einbinder. Spike Einbinder, a friend, plays Epcot in the show. First of all, I got to say, don't love the whole thing of like, oh, there's obviously, there's like a non-binaryer trans-trans character.
Starting point is 00:30:03 character here and they named them Epcot because I guess in this world like all nine binary and trans people have like weird fucked up names and are like I just I didn't love that the attitude around trans people on the show is is interesting it's I wouldn't even call it interesting I call it baldly negative and didn't love that but I don't know if that's a response to the whole to the whole Che Diaz like debacle or whatever but didn't exactly feel there was care towards the trans and non-binary community in that last episode. And just want to say, separating this entirely from like the way we feel about literally all the actresses that work on that show who we adore and love and respect so much, that was not great.
Starting point is 00:30:50 The way to end that story. That was not great. I mean, the fact that in the last six minutes of, because I don't think they're going to resume the story of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte going forward, and I feel like it's probably done. Don't forget Seema and LVP.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Sure. Not that's Lisa Vanderpump. What's your name? Don't forget LVP. LVP. Who's the third? LTW, of course. Miss Mama with the two dads, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Yes, whose dad's, both dads passed away. All I know is in the last five minutes of it, just like that, we saw an overhead shot of a toilet and poop floated up through the toilet bowl and overflow. Look, I'm sure you guys all saw. If you didn't, understand that the way that the whole thing ends, that's one of the last images. Is that a character named Epcot eats cheese causes a toilet to clog.
Starting point is 00:31:47 And then one of the last things we see in all of the sex in the city. In Carrie Bradshaw's, New York. In Carrie Bradshaw's, New York is poop nuggets float up through the toilet, overflow the bowl, and then Miranda ends up on her hands and knees. And she says, what is my life? And I had the same question. I had very close to the same question. Now, what is the difference?
Starting point is 00:32:14 You don't have to have a real answer for this, but like, is it just more disappointing? Because, like, that is campy, I'm sure. It's like poor taste and good taste or whatever in, like, the Sontag way. But it's like, what's the difference between and just like that doing that versus hunting wives doing pegging slurk?
Starting point is 00:32:31 You know what I mean? Because one has the, established from the get-go and the other kind of had to do a hard left into that because how how else are they going to like tell this story in a compelling way that like becomes water cooler talk because say what you will about that show it was always water cooler talk every episode absolutely and i mean here we are talking about it now but my thing is just like i actually like i have finished the episode and the last few scenes are just of kerry bradshaw and you know she realizes she says in her voiceover she goes the lady realized
Starting point is 00:33:02 she was not alone. She was on her own. And I remember it ends with, you know, SJP as Carrie sort of like walking in her home and she sort of, you know, she's just like whatever. And I finished the episode and I thought, okay, you know what I mean? This was a show about a woman in her middle age whose husband dies. And she felt that she had finally reached that stage of her life
Starting point is 00:33:29 where she could be comfortable with her partner and live out her days. and he died and she had to figure it out again. So this series was about what happens when that goes down in your life. And I feel like in the totality of all of it, at least the show was about something. And they were able to end it with Carrie Bradshaw being like, I'm on my own, but I'm not alone. I have friends.
Starting point is 00:33:53 It's not the end of my life. I'm okay. She's experienced love and that's what the show is about. And it doesn't have to like remain. or whatever, yeah. So at least it was about something. That being said, that show had a real potential
Starting point is 00:34:09 in the first season in the first couple episodes, and then it just, we saw poop. You would never have seen, would you ever have seen poop in Sex and the City? Poop? No. Actual, fecal matter.
Starting point is 00:34:24 I don't think you would see poop in most shows. It feels really undignified. Is that like a big, Fuck you from MPK being like, I don't know. Like, yeah, I wonder why. There must be a reason. That's what's puzzling me. And again, I'm, yeah, whatever.
Starting point is 00:34:44 I'm not, knowing what I know about the finale, I'm like, I think I'm good. I don't think I have to experience this. I kind of want you to watch it because I do want you. Because here's the thing. It's just like when, they had to have art directed the poop. You know what I mean? It's like a full-on thing. Someone in props brought over two different samples of shit.
Starting point is 00:35:09 And they had to run it to make sure the poop floated. Like, and like, okay, and which, like, go to a director and go, which poop do you prefer? See, yeah, that's the thing. As I'm like, and this is like, this is a beloved series. That, I don't know. That was, it was tough. So that is the, as far as we know, the end of, That story.
Starting point is 00:35:33 It can have been what they want. It can have been what they thought the last episode was. I'm sorry. At a certain point, it's like, I understand why you guys all want to be like, yes, we decided to end it this way and ha ha, ha, you know what I mean? Like, isn't this lovely, et cetera? And I did think that, you know, the powers that be that clearly were not empowered to make those decisions, like handled it as gracefully as they could.
Starting point is 00:35:56 But ultimately, that cannot. I refuse to believe that they looked. that a final cut of that episode. And we're like, yeah, we're good ending the story this way. Roll credits. No. Yeah. Well, that's the culture.

I would say that we've heard music. Yes. From an upcoming album that is going to bring someone back in a big way. We're very excited.
Starting point is 00:40:36 We've received this music because we are very excited to have this person on the show very soon. And I think everyone's going to be very excited. She is someone who we've rooted for. As in we in the royal sense, you've rooted for her as well. This person looms large in the lost culture. this lore. In the game show lore. In the game show lore.
Starting point is 00:41:00 And really the Matt and Bowen and extended universe lore, this person has always loomed large and new music is coming from this person and their name is Demi Lovato. And we've heard what we can only describe as true bops.
Starting point is 00:41:22 We've heard six songs. Six songs. And they are all truly sublime. And she's coming to the podcast. It is on the books. So if it doesn't pan out, no worries. But you heard it here first, and if it doesn't work out, then that's fine. I think it's going to pan out.
Starting point is 00:41:37 I think it's going to pan out. But also, we're sitting on some creaky chairs. So, you know, if that's intolerable to you, you know, just press stop now. It's Peatown. It's Peatown, girl. We're doing our best. Let them creak. Let them creak.
Starting point is 00:41:50 It's like let them cook, but let them creak. Yes. Do you have anything to get off your chest? Um, do I have anything to get off my chest? I don't think so. I'm kind of just like, I'm kind of just like enjoying this week of, of peace. Have you been having a peaceful time? I think so.
Starting point is 00:42:11 I think I could steal a nap or two. You want to go to bed? At some point, but not now. I'm not rushing for this to end. Liar. No. Do wait, am I think, am I, do I have something to get off my chest that, like, I'm thinking about that you're thinking, but I know.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Just with this time that we have together. No, I mean, I still encourage everyone to go see weapons. I still, I'm excited. I want to watch as many movies as I can before I lose the time. You know what I mean? I'm just scrolling through photos. I'm like, what's happened to me recently?
Starting point is 00:42:43 I'm boring. I'm in my boring era. No, I don't think that's true. No, it's okay. We've had a wonderful time, like, traversing Provincetown going through commercials, street, et cetera. I was actually just sitting outside looking at the sky. The clouds alignment. It is just so beautiful. We are in this wonderful home. I'm looking out. You got to come down here. If you haven't come down here. I know we're speaking to a lot of gay guys and girls who have
Starting point is 00:43:07 gay friends. And so, and of course, queer women. But Provincetown really is a place to come. Yes, absolutely. Maybe I'll buy a home here. Oh. I'll be stopping by. Well, let's go to the home. Um, let's see. Let's, oh, Audrey Hobert, fabulous new album. Have you been listening to it? Yes. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Give your impressions. Um, just a great, so people don't know. Audrey Hobert, fabulous singer has, um, written songs for some of your face, Bracey. Uh, so me I want to be wanted. We shouted her out before, but who's the clown is the name of the album. I like that title. Great title, great title. I am not up to speed on the Ethel v. Lana of it all.
Starting point is 00:44:02 But I kind of am. But Lana has released the disc track. Is that true? So Lana Del Rey uploaded like a, you know, sort of, what would you call it? It was sort of like a... A polemic. It was a disc track. It's a track 13, and she tagged Jack Antonoff.
Starting point is 00:44:20 And it was basically like Ethel Kane didn't like my Instagram. Instagram post and she was kind of just going off in the song and then she revealed that Ethel Cain had at once made a comment nastily about her weight and there is Ethel Can Lana Del Rey beef officially. And Nikki Minaj is involved. Is Nikki Minaj involved? Yes. Nikki is now, but Nikki for a while was pro-ethel and now I believe she's pro-Lana. Like this is where you know it's this is this is why I've chosen to disengage. I'm like, I don't need to really be reading.
Starting point is 00:44:52 Her thoughts necessarily at this time in the year 20, in the year 2025. But are there still barbs? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, for sure. Do you think that the barbs numbers have taken a hit? I'm not following that.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Yeah, right. You know? Yeah. This is my thing. Remember back in the day, we were sending so, we were soldiers for Nikki. And then it just became all too much. I mean, we'll always have the moments.
Starting point is 00:45:25 We'll always have the moments, I guess. But... I will always remember those times. I'll always remember us this way. When we were rip Pearlman's revenge. Safe act, yeah. Well, that was Eminem. And he said that many times.
Starting point is 00:45:39 It was on a microphone. Well... Oh, my God. Yeah, so the Ethel... I can't say that I'm that up to speed on what Ethel Cane does. I should probably... Yeah, it's good. So this one, this new album, Willoughby Tucker,
Starting point is 00:45:55 I'll Always Love You, is a prequel to her debut. Just tells the story of, you know, Preacher's Daughter's the first album tells the story of, I guess I, maybe I'm not super clear on this, but it tells the story of a persona through Hayden and Edonia, which is an actual name, sort of like falling in love with this person. I find I feel very Ethel is the alias is the show as the
Starting point is 00:46:27 showbiz name Hayden and Adonia is the name of Ethel I'm making sense I'm a little drunk but I find Ethel I've always found
Starting point is 00:46:40 Ethel very endearing super smart she loves Zelda oh so the huge win for you huge one for me she has she has an unboxing video that I watch all the time as ASMR where she unboxes the special edition Zelda Switch Light.
Starting point is 00:46:56 And she talks about her love with the Zelda game. She owns the Zelda edition of every single Nintendo console. Oh, wow. She's a real, she's a head. She's a real Zelda head. Whatever happened with the Zelda movie. Is that still happening? That's happening.
Starting point is 00:47:07 They cast their Lincoln Zelda. They're going young, young, like, early teens. Do we know who the casting is? The Zelda movie casting. Yeah, these are some two kids. They are... These are some two kids. Bo Braggison as Zelda.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Really pretty girl. Benjamin Ainsworth as Link. Really heroic-looking young man. Will this be one of the biggest movies? Depends. I think Nintendo is moving into more of the entertainment space and the theme parks, as you know. I think they are kind of trying to diversify a little bit.
Starting point is 00:47:42 They're offering a sign from video games in terms of the Mario... Because the Mario movie did so well. right um they're really going in on zelda they are obviously really invested in the theme parks um i mean i guess my thing is like what does i feel like in the maria movie did well because it was able to be funny is zelda going to be able to be funny is it going to feel like it's taking itself too seriously my i mean it's the tone is so hard to strike it is it's like not a dialogue heavy series you know it's it's mostly about like i bet
Starting point is 00:48:20 it'll be very quiet and expensive. It'll be a very gentle fantasy movie, which I'm excited about because we don't have a lot of those. Fantasy movies are so like, like intense, like world building. This is who that wizard is. You know,
Starting point is 00:48:33 it's like, it's so much information at you. And the Zelda games are really about like, for lack of a better word, vibes. It's like, you're a little boy on a far, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:43 in a farm town and then you get the, you know, you get the, you learn about the Triforce or whatever. Like I do like that take on fantasy. And, yeah, I'm curious. Is an okarina a real instrument? Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:48:57 It is. I could play one. You could? Could you get me one for Christmas? Yes. Would you buy me an ocarina? I would buy you an ocarina. You like that?
Starting point is 00:49:04 Yeah, I think you like okarina because of the word ocarina. Yeah, I do think that I came up with a new drag name, and Bowen did what he does whenever I say a new drag name from me, which was immediately dismiss it. No. But let me know what you guys think. Pola Rising. And I said, yeah, like the common female name Pola.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Excuse me. You have this thing where you think that in order to be an effective drag name, the first name has to be like Anne or Marie. I don't think you have to be effective. Pola Rising? You always state the drag names as if they make total sense. And the reason they're funny and great is because they don't make sense, but you're like, guys, right?
Starting point is 00:49:49 like it works polarizing and I'm like well no I have to poke holes in it because you don't want me to have a drag name because you know that if I became a drag queen I would totally take over you I have to take it no you totally take over me if I became a drag queen I would be so I wouldn't even need to speak to anyone in my life if I became a drag queen I would be RuPaul I would be so big I would fly as high as the skies I'd be bigger than the whole sky Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. I guess should we talk about Taylor? She pissed me off when she said there was a countdown on her website,
Starting point is 00:50:28 and I got all excited. I got on my Instagram, I acted like a goddamn fool. I was like, we ride at 2 p.m., etc. And it was a new vinyl pressing after I got so excited about the whole life of a showgirl era because I can't believe it's going to be Max Martin, 12 tracks, 12 focused bangers. It's what I've wanted for a long time. We were both excited about what it was going to be giving. And then I thought, wow, maybe she's going to release a new song while we're here in P-Town.
Starting point is 00:50:56 People were girding their loins around us being like, oh, God, this is going to be a new Taylor song. I had the speaker ready. We were ready to go. Now, can I ask, did you take down those stories? I did. I was embarrassed. That's real shame. No, yeah, I was really ashamed because I was like, someone sent, probably obviously, Jared, being like, oh, my God, there's a new countdown on Taylor's website.
Starting point is 00:51:18 I'm thinking it has to be a single. So I put it on my story. I even get on my story. I say mute me, bitch. Like, you know, get ready for me. I'm coming, et cetera. I do feel like people are so fucking annoying about Taylor Swift. Like, okay, you don't like it.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Shut the fuck up. And I was just like, I'm going to enjoy this. So few things to enjoy in life. Please, dear God, let me enjoy this collection of pop music, which it is. But then I do the most. I say how excited I am and she just is like it's a vinyl pressing
Starting point is 00:51:52 and I was like okay I guess I'll continue to wait so that was just salt on the wound because you're thinking about this in terms of like I've done a lot of work to arrive at a place where I can be excited publicly about a new Taylor Swift moment and the fact that
Starting point is 00:52:08 she'd kind of proven these people right was what was annoying no she didn't prove anyone right it was just for me it was just like Oh, I, I, I'm so. You weren't even allowed to be excited. No, and that is the energy. It's like, people make you feel bad for being excited.
Starting point is 00:52:25 People still think it's interesting. And I understand that you might not think it's interesting for me to be like, yay, Taylor Swift. But I do think it is less cool to be like, fuck this thing that everyone likes. And I'm always going to be like that. I am always going to be the person that's like, if you are the type of individual that is out here being like, fuck you and that thing that you and a lot of other people like that is, you know, not, it's just, it's just, it's just, to me is like, it's a stasis I don't want to occupy.
Starting point is 00:52:58 I never want to be like, oh, you're excited about that thing. You're stupid. Like, to me, that's like the antithesis of everything that who, that, of who I am, of like, honestly, what this all is. It's just, like, annoying and I hate it. And so then I got all excited about her announcing something new. And I was like, ha ha, yeah, I'm ready to go. Let's go. And then it was a vinyl pressing.
Starting point is 00:53:19 And I was like, okay, well, I will continue to sit quietly. Totally. I've been humbled. But I'm still excited. Yeah. Did you watch the interview with Travis? I did not watch the whole thing. I kind of got the big poll quotes.
Starting point is 00:53:34 I did watch it. But yeah, I mean, it'll come. October's not that far away. No, it's fine. We're all fine. We're all fine. Grammy's mission deadline is in end of, of August. She'll probably release something before
Starting point is 00:53:46 then. I don't think she will. I think she's going to allow Sabrina to have her runway. I really do. I think she's... And Gaga. She's got a lot of daughters in the mix. Uh-huh. Like I think Sabrina and Gracie are in the mix in a big way. And Gaga's her cousin. And I think she respects Gaga so much. I think she knows this is
Starting point is 00:54:02 not her... This Grammy race is not her fight. And I think she will wait. She's given everyone a lot of time to absorb the fact that she's going to come hard with an album. And I do think that she seems more confident about this than she has in something in a very long time.
Starting point is 00:54:21 Not to say that she hasn't seemed confident, just to say she seems ultra-confident in the fact that she and Max Martin and Shelbach who are the best pop music producers that exist. I feel good saying that. They've, you know, created a focused 12-track album that will probably be all bangers. You can choose to not enjoy that or not.
Starting point is 00:54:41 I mean, it's not to me. Right, but I think you're talking about something where people are like reaching out being like um not you liking to yeah i it's not it's not new news and it's also not fun well it's just this it's this political theory sorry where it's like oh and in late late late stage capitalism it's like when you have no political well to exercise then you're gonna you think you can exercise consumerist will which is like saying like which is just having an issue with any kind of pop culture for any reason, which we
Starting point is 00:55:16 dabble in sometimes. You know, we just kind of talked about it and just like that, but I think we're not doing it in a sort of like, as a reaction to like certain things, or maybe we are, but it's just like if just like that was good, we would not make anyone feel bad for liking it.
Starting point is 00:55:32 Yeah, right, but it's, but it wasn't. And we're not making anyone feel back. If you do happen to like and just like that, please enjoy it. I would love to hear from you. Yes. If you actually thought and just like that was good, please send in a voice memo saying why, and don't do it as a joke.
Starting point is 00:55:48 We will not make fun of you. We just want to hear you out. Even the hunting wives. I mean, like, did you look it up? What did it have on Metacritic? 72. That's high.
Starting point is 00:55:56 It's very high. And I'm curious about that. It's high when you look at what the wigs look like. You know what I mean? It's like when you see... Those wigs are docking at least 40. That's what I'm saying. You can't get higher than a 60
Starting point is 00:56:13 when the wigs look the way they do on... When you can see the hair, you can see the real baby hairs poke out of the lace question mark if there was lace to begin with. Our joke was like, someone was like, who is that actor? And we were like, oh, that's a Vancouver local. Where did they shoot it? I think Asheville. The beautiful city of Asheville.
Starting point is 00:56:38 I loved every second of the show. I want distress. And I have to say, like, you know, Ultimately, it is my kind of programming. No, it is made for us. Yeah. The only thing we're kind of unsure about is, and the show does a really good job of like threading the needle.
Starting point is 00:56:53 Like, it'll appeal to any sector. Yes. Is this pro-guns, pro-queer, or is this anti-guns? You can't tell what it thinks. Which, God, I mean, I guess we'll settle for it. One thing I do stand by is that any given scene of the show could end in one character quietly to them, going
Starting point is 00:57:14 fuck it's great every scene is so stressful and then an individual just fuck oh but it's I mean
Starting point is 00:57:25 it's great I mean there's no better period on a sentence of a scene than fuck and ultimately
Starting point is 00:57:31 I leave only happy for Britney Snow oh yeah and Malin yeah listen I tore it up
Starting point is 00:57:38 May Cobb the writer of the novel hope you're getting a fat chuck and it ends differently than the novel. That's right. I love it when they do that.
Starting point is 00:57:46 I love it when that happens. When you sneeze. When I sneeze. Do you love the feeling of sneezing? Well, it's supposed to be orgasm. Oh. It's supposed to be the same kind of like, sens,
Starting point is 00:57:55 but, you know, somatic experience as orgasma. Ah! I just can't stop thinking about how much, like, come and, like, a nipple there was in hunting lives. Like, you really need to.
Starting point is 00:58:09 It had all the bodily, um, yeah. Mary, Mary, fuck kill. Oh, wow,
Starting point is 00:58:15 I love this. Come poop nugget and just like that or on gay nipple. I'm gonna marry come. I'm gonna fuck. I'm gonna marry the cum.
Starting point is 00:58:31 I'm gonna fuck nipple and I'm gonna kill poop nugget from just like that. Out of the craziest things we've seen over the past week, like if it's Mary fuck kill, the dildo coming out of a man's butt on hunting,
Starting point is 00:58:43 wives, the poop nugget from it just like that, and what's the third? Shiny bug vinyl. Shiny bug vinyl? I'm going to marry I'm going to marry the dildo. I'm going to fuck the shiny bug vinyl
Starting point is 00:59:01 variant because you don't know what it could be amazing. Can I tell you? And I did order that. You did? I did order it. Because I already had already, you did order it. Yeah. I had already ordered the original. Yeah. See, I was going to wait in line in the original drop. I was like, let me
Starting point is 00:59:17 just, whatever. And then I was like, oh, great, I'll buy the, and I like this cover. It is, I mean, the cover's amazing. And by the way, Taylor's visuals for this are great. I love it. I love it. And then the theme, the theme, the theory is she's going to go do the sphere, which I think feels right. Because how do you
Starting point is 00:59:33 tour after Erez? No, exactly. I don't. The showgirl thing, the Vegas thing. Exactly. I said that as soon as August 12th, as soon as that dropped. I was texting you and Jared. I was like, she's doing Vegas. Yeah. There is the Elizabeth Taylor of it all, which is tracked too. That calls back to
Starting point is 00:59:50 and ready for it. She speaks about, but it's into this Taylor. There's lots there. Lots there. Lots there. So you said, I'm sorry, in the first game of Mary, fuck kill, you said, marry come, fuck gay nipple. And definitely killed poop nudge. I was
Starting point is 01:00:06 I'm going to marry gay nipple. I'm a boob gay, of course. Yeah. And fuck come. You're going to fuck come. Sometimes come is what I want. Sometimes it's not. I can't say I've been like a big come guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:19 But the week is young. The week is young. Should we do? I don't think so. Honey, we're going to make this an hour-long episode this time. Yeah, we're on vacation after all. We're on vacation after all.
Starting point is 01:00:30 My phone's charging. Do you have yours? I don't. I mean, what we could do is we could do one of those. Well, let me go get his. By the way, there's a pair of binoculars in the home that we're staying in and we haven't used them,

Hi, I'm Kurt Brown-Oller. And I am Scotty Landis, and we host Bananas, the Weird News Podcasts with wonderful guests like Whitney Cummings. And tackle the truly tough questions.
Starting point is 01:01:59 Why is cool mom an insult, but mom is fine? No. I always say, Kurt's a fun dad. Fun dad and cool mom. That's cool for me. We also dig into important life stuff, like why our last names would make the worst hyphen ever. My last name is Cummings. I have sympathy for nobody.
Starting point is 01:02:19 Yeah, mine's brown-olar, but with an H. So it looks like brown-holer. Okay, that's, okay, yours might be worse. We can never get married. Yeah. Listen to this episode with Whitney Cummings and check out new episodes of bananas every Tuesday on the exactly right network. Listen to bananas on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Pretty Private with Ebeney, the podcast where silence is broken and stories are set free.

On Pretty Private, we'll explore the untold experiences of women of color who faced it all, childhood trauma, addiction. abuse, incarceration, grief, mental health struggles, and more, and found the shrimp to make it to the other side. My dad was shot and killed in his house. Yes, he was a drug dealer. Yes, he was a confidential informant, but he wasn't shot on a street corner. He wasn't shot in the middle of a drug deal.
Starting point is 01:03:27 He was shot in his house, unarmed. Pretty private isn't just a podcast. It's your personal guide for turning storylines into lifelines. Hey, sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro? Tell you how to manage your money again. Welcome to Brown ambition.
Starting point is 01:03:58 This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same. same problem a year from now. When you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan, starting with your local credit union, shopping around online, looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt when it
Starting point is 01:04:33 weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it. And in fact, it may get even worse. For more judgment-free money advice, listen to Brown Ambition on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. This is, I don't think so, honey. This is our segment where we take one minute to gut something. And I have something. Do you have something?
Starting point is 01:05:07 I do have something. Okay, this is Matt Rogers. I don't think so many's time starts now. I don't think so, honey, rum punch. Anywhere you go, like, if you're at, like, a gay destination, they're going to offer you, like, a rum punch, which is, like, a special cocktail. The thing about rum punch is it is so much more sugar than you ever could possibly imagine. So if you're over the age of 30 and you go somewhere and you have, like, is it called the planter's punch here or no.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Planners punch is in Fire Island. That's Fire Allen. They call it, um, yeah, some kind of punch. Yeah, just like, whatever it is, like, maybe it's me now. Maybe it's me always. I used to be the kind of girl. This is back in 2021, 20, 21, 22, where I could go to the Fire Island, you know, the blue whale, whatever. I can go to tea and I can have like three planters punches and be okay.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Now it's about one, one and a half and I'm wrapped for the night. And I feel it's a lethal drink to serve. I don't think so honey that I'm necessarily targeting anyone. I'm not shaving anyone. I'm just saying for me, my metabolism in my body, it's not going to be a rum punch. No sort of my tie. No rum at all. There's colloot in it.
Starting point is 01:06:06 I don't want it. If there's Malibu in it, I don't want it. Sorry to Jen Padranti of the rehearsals of Orange County. I know this should drink, but not for me. I don't think so honey. That's one minute. Jen Padranti drinks rum punches. She drinks a Malibu Diet Coke.
Starting point is 01:06:18 That's her content. Oh, yeah, I never, I mean, I should like that in theory, but I just don't. It's like a fact I know about Jen Padranti that she drinks some Malibuantia diet. I'm rooting for Jen Padranti. Kind of Britney Snow coated. She's kind of the Britney Snow of OC. And that you root for her? And that I, she's giving me Britney Snow in the face and in, and, and, and, and, and,
Starting point is 01:06:36 in her sort of like, in her manner. I'm like, oh, you're, you know, I like you. You needn't root for Britney Spell because she's winning. Oh, yes. Absolutely. But I'm just saying, like, I always root for share, you know? It's like, I root for these people. DJ play a Christmas song and I want to be dancing whole night old.
Starting point is 01:06:58 It's going to be coming sooner than you think. It's actually Rural Culture number six. Christmas is sooner than you think. that Bowen ready Start your shopping now Yep This is Bowen Yangs I don't think
Starting point is 01:07:09 so honey His time starts now I don't think so honey Bingo How come I've never once in my life won that game
Starting point is 01:07:15 Racist And it's racist And it's a game And it's a game Where I'm sorry At least at Bingo we were at No one's rooting
Starting point is 01:07:22 for each other Everyone's out for themselves at Bingo And it's stressful We said we love The stamps But the The act of
Starting point is 01:07:32 Stamping of You know Your Island going bo bo bo bo oh do i have b7 like like that whole like the scanning of the number across you know three up to six different bingo grids and cards stressful and some some of these some of these bingo hosts i'm not naming names go too fast page turner or they stop not page turner we love you page too fast but page page you were you were you were 15 you were throwing in brilliant banter but then would like say like four numbers in such quick succession that it was hard to keep up that's all
Starting point is 01:08:03 No notes, though. You do your thing. Five seconds. We're hoping you're getting paid a lot. But bingo, I've never won. And so, like, what's your beef with me, bingo? Also, you're a dog. You're not a game.
Starting point is 01:08:12 Bye. And that's one minute. I love holding Bowen Yang's phone because I was getting little buzzes and I realize that your grinder's popping off, girl. Girl. All these, all these people saying, did you bring your iceberg costume? Did they say that? Will you fuck me?
Starting point is 01:08:29 How about that? What if someone's kink was? to fuck you in the iceberg. I would say that isn't an archive. That I don't have access to. They want to fuck Fanny, Fanny. And bend over Fannie. Show me that Fanny.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Show me that whole, Fanny. Do you think Fanny, the wicked character, got into it at Shiz? Do you think he was having gay sex? I think he was very lonely. I think, you know, like many people, his cruelty was a shield. Is this where you revealed?
Starting point is 01:09:03 that Fannie has a bigger story and Wicked for Good. And there's a bigger, gayer story. You know what I said actually at a recent unreleased thing? Oh, my God. We were just doing, we were just like doing like a cast sort of like roundtable. And I was kind of gagged. And I think my castmates were gagged as well. They were like, what are your big takeaways from working on these films?
Starting point is 01:09:28 And I said, you know what? I learned from these films like the the sort of the really terrible power that cruelty has because I looked at everybody I was like I think
Starting point is 01:09:40 there's like obviously like deception and subterfuge and then I was like I looked at Michelle Yo, I looked at Jeff. I was like you know Morrible and the Wizard
Starting point is 01:09:49 like you know they present themselves as like allies at first but then they turn but I was like I think my character is like maybe the only like cruel one like my
Starting point is 01:09:58 My and Bronwyn's character, Fannie and Chenchin, I'm not to, like, aggrandize the roles too much. They are cruel. Yeah. And, like, honestly, like, I've said this before on press. It's, like, it did feel bad, and I would have to go apologize to Cynthia. Like, I was like, I'm so sorry. That felt so bad.
Starting point is 01:10:15 Didn't mean to you. For whatever people want to project on to me, if anyone thinks I'm a mean person out there because of the roles I've played. Because you play cruelty so well. Well, no, because I guess, like, I'm bitchy, sassy, whatever on us. It's like everyone assumes that I'm mean No one assumes that No like a lot of China like when I was in China
Starting point is 01:10:33 Like the social media was always like Well he seems so mean and like I don't like wait It's a gay thing It's a gay thing like it's not even a gay thing Like I was like I like visited my cousin I have a cousin-in-law who like runs like a daycare For neurodivergent kids and like we took a picture there And she posted it and people were like oh my god
Starting point is 01:10:48 This is so sweet and this is so weird Because Boeing seems so mean in real life And I'm like fucking crazy Everyone almost And so, whatever, I don't know why I'm on this tangent. But it's like, well, I was asking if you feel he gets a big gay moment. I wouldn't say. I think we all hope that Fannie dies.
Starting point is 01:11:07 Yeah. I think we all hope to see Fannie dead in the film. Fannie dead in the film. I, what I want is for Fannie to be dead in a stampede. I want the animals. Oh, but you haven't seen weapons. I was going to make a weapons comparison. There's a gruesome, satisfying death in weapons that I'm like, I want, I want that for Fannie for sure.
Starting point is 01:11:25 You can spoil that for me. Um, spoiler alert for weapons. Amy Madigan gets, oh, toe up. That's all I'll say. Yeah. I heard about this.
Starting point is 01:11:35 Because you know that whenever it's a horror movie, I can't see. I just go ahead and read the, but, but, what's, what's really nice about weapons, though,
Starting point is 01:11:42 is that you watch the ending and you go, and I, that's what I said in the last episode. So I'm going to spoil it. It's like these kids and it's Amy Madigan, and it's like, they had a blast shooting. And then there was,
Starting point is 01:11:51 there were photos from set where one of the kid actors posted, you know, like little like, you know, back, you know, BTS photos where Amy is like flashing a piece eye in her crazy old lady outfit, like, with all these kids smiling.
Starting point is 01:12:03 I'm like, look. She's been having a moment. She's been having a moment. I know I'm so happy. They're predicting her for Oscar supporting. They're saying, best supporting actress, Amy Madigan is a real contender. Yeah, but I totally see it because she has some scene work where I'm like, fuck, this is some iconogic.
Starting point is 01:12:19 And the beloved actress. Like, I didn't actually realize, like I didn't remember that she was filled the dream. So she's got like an iconic scene I filled their names until, like, a town hall. Like, she's been like a real, like a journeyman actress, they call it. Oh, it's a hot couple. Amy Madigan and fucking Ed. Ed.
Starting point is 01:12:38 O'Neill. Ed O'Neill. No, no, no. Ed Harris. Ed Harris. Sorry, not Ed O'Neill. Sorry, sorry. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:12:42 I was going to say, yeah, another Ed. But Ed Harris and Amy Madigan. That's a hot. Really good. Yeah, yeah. And if you're in a hot couple, congratulations. Congratulations. And if you loved and just like that, genuinely, please.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Please reach out. Yeah, we want to hear from you. We want to hear what that take is. We want to hear what that's like. Well, this has been our special Peatown episode of Lost Cultures, our second annual. Second annual, we've come to Peatown again. Against the odds. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:13:13 It wasn't really against the odds. I just wanted to sing Mariah. We're in a beautiful place, having a beautiful time with beautiful friends, beautiful each other. This has been a beautiful episode. We end every episode with a song. I want to go fast, I want to go hard, I want to go anywhere, anywhere you are, I want to go fast, I want to go. I think it's no matter how close, no matter how far, I want to go anywhere, anywhere you are. When you hear the rest of this Emmy album, you're going to be very happy gay guys.
