Starting point is 00:00:00 The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are back. I love that. I love that. Oh my gosh. Welcome. And last season's drama was just the tip of the iceberg. You're recording us? I am disgusted.
Starting point is 00:00:13 Never in a million years after everything we've been through did I think that you would reach out to our sworn enemy. We were friends. How could you do this to me? I don't trust her. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Wednesdays at 9 on Bravo, or stream it on City TV+. On Thanksgiving Day, 1999, five-year-old Cuban boy Elian Gonzalez was found off the coast of Florida. And the question was, should the boy go back to his father in Cuba?
Starting point is 00:00:43 Mr. Gonzalez wanted to go home, and he wanted to take his son with him. Or back to his father in Cuba? Mr. Gonzalez wanted to go home and he wanted to take his son with him. Or stay with his relatives in Miami? Imagine that your mother died trying to get you to freedom. Listen to Chess Peace, the Elian Gonzalez story on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. to being one of today's biggest artists. I was a desperate delusional dreamer. Be a delusional dreamer. Just don't be a desperate delusional dreamer. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Trust me, you won't want to miss this one. Look, man. Oh, I see. Wow. Bowen, look over there. Wow, is that culture? Yes. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Wow. Las Culturistas. Ding Wow. Las Culturistas. Ding dong. Las Culturistas calling. And wow. It's amazing what a huge hit this series is. I think it's been a huge, I mean, we've not for nothing gotten some readouts back
Starting point is 00:01:57 and that's what we call them in the biz, readouts. And I think it's been a nice little thing. Oh, it's been, there's a community here of Diamond Plus subscribers. And if you're not Diamond Plus, but if you're listening to this on the public, you know, feed. Just know you're missing out.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Just know you're missing out on some fun early on. Gotta get over here. The water is warm or cool if you're feeling too hot. The water is the perfect temperature. No matter where or who or what you are. And now today, we're going to be doing the top 10 Batman villains. How is this queer culture, bro? How is being a Batman villain queer culture?
Starting point is 00:02:36 Being a Batman villain requires that you have a chip on your shoulder. You know, the Gotham has wronged you in a way. The city is, and yet the city is the only place where you are understood. You can't live anywhere else but Gotham. Yes. And yet you kind of hate it.
Starting point is 00:02:59 And I think that is the queer experience is that you can't live anywhere else but the city, but the city sucks. The city fucking sucks, but that's where your community community is and that's the only place you'll find it a hundred percent and also i'm onto something not for nothing but we are of the night we are creatures of the night who have stylish flair flair maybe a couple of us have fallen into a vat of acid oh my god the drama in your life you have trauma you have and as a result of us have fallen into a vat of acid. Oh my God. The drama in your life. You have trauma.
Starting point is 00:03:26 You have trauma. And as a result of your trauma, you are who you are. You have trauma. And as a result, you have green hair. As a result, you kind of think you're a cat, bitch. Bitch. Bitch. I'm looking at you and one thing I'm noticing is you kind of think you're a cat.
Starting point is 00:03:44 You must think you're a cat the way you're queer. The way that you're acting right now, it's giving thinking you're a cat. Honey, you're speaking only in riddles because you're what? Queer. Uh, 1000%. When you kiss someone, they die? Queering. Queering the kissing.
Starting point is 00:04:02 The kissing. I mean, this is is and not for nothing, but the fact that they have an agenda. Having an agenda is so queer. You need three things to be a Batman villain. An agenda,
Starting point is 00:04:17 a costume, and a stupid fucking name. And all three of those things are what? Queer. That's it. Let's get into it. I am jacked up, ready to talk about Batman.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Can I say, this is, when you suggested the categories for this, when I saw Batman villains, I was like, I know my sister's gay. Number 10 on top 10 Batman villains, Lost Cult, is Bane. This bitch number 10 on top 10 Batman villains lost cult
Starting point is 00:04:45 is Bane this bitch is a sub and yet dom icon switch he is full switch full sub for boys and ivy which we'll get to and we'll get to her but also to be a dominator
Starting point is 00:05:01 there is a tension here in the words of Kylie Minogue's latest album that is and he can barely speak. He can barely speak. He has to have a little thing on his mouth, like a baby. Yeah. Like a damn baby. He can barely breathe or speak.
Starting point is 00:05:17 The sub-dom sort of simultaneous nature of that, it's giving baby adult. Bane is both a child and 100 years old. 100%. And even in the Nolan versions, when his poison ivy is Talia al Ghul, we still see that he is sub. He's sub
Starting point is 00:05:38 for Marion, which is queer. Being sub for Marion Cotillard is queer, and that's a rule of culture number 12. Being sub for Marion Cotillard is queer. And that's a rule of culture number 12. Being subbed for Marion Cotillard is queer. And that's why Bane is number 10 on top 10 Batman villains. Lost cult. Number nine. Number nine.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Two-face. I believe in Harvey Dent being number nine. First of all, when you think Harvey Dent, you also think Harvey Milk. Because there's very few people named Harvey. There's Harvey Milk, Harvey Dent, Harvey from Sabrina. I was going to say. Harvey Keitel. Mm-hmm. And another... Harvey Guillen. Harvey Guillen.
Starting point is 00:06:16 And another Harvey who he terrorized the entertainment industry. We don't speak his name. Harvey Weinstein. And another Harvey, another person with the middle name Harvey who murdered an important person. Oh yeah. Lee Harvey Oswald.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I said it. You said, and the chill that ran down my spine. I'll bring us back up. Harvey Fierstein. Oh. A talent. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:06:41 A treasure. A treasure, an American treasure. And capable of so much writing singing acting drag yeah oh my god and those are all the Harvey's
Starting point is 00:06:55 now Harvey Dent is I don't know Gemini Libra, Moon. Yeah. And I would say also maybe like some Pisces rising in there because he's upset. And guess what? Pisces has two fish.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Mm-hmm. Do you identify with Harvey in any way? Tommy Lee Jones or Aaron Eckhart? I would say- You have an Aaron Eckhart energy about you. Are you serious? You can both be... You can be like the cleaned up man.
Starting point is 00:07:31 And then you can also be like the biker. The filth. I'm saying you have the range, honey. Thank you, dear. I don't know if I identify with Two-Face. Because I think I have to be who I am. And I look at my one face in the mirror every day and I say, you can't hide from people. And really what's going on with Two-Face is he just can't decide who to be.
Starting point is 00:07:56 He is having an identity crisis. Two-Face is having an identity crisis. And that's real culture number 30. Two-Face is having an identity crisis. And that's real culture number 30. Two-Face is having an identity crisis. Okay, and if you can identify with Two-Face, I want you to ask yourself, how are the people in your life feeling? I just,
Starting point is 00:08:13 this is all I have to say to Two-Face. Pick a lane. Decide. Decide. It's literally pick one. And this isn't Panera, it's not a you pick two. Because if we all could pick two, then we'd all be running amok crazy.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Oh my God. I'd have a damn horse body for my lower. It's not that I don't feel bad for what happened with the acid. I'm just saying, honey, this is your reality. And we have stood by long enough without you doing something about it. Get help.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Get help. Also, you were overshadowed by the Joker in The Dark Knight. Can't feel good. Can't feel great. Okay, that's why you are number nine on top ten Batman villains. Lost cult. Number eight. Penguin.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Disgusting and grotesque as a creature. I'll say that. I didn't, I didn't enjoy him. I, I'm surprised. He made the top 10. I'm surprised.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I was going to say, I'm surprised that he is beating Bane and Two-Face. Yeah. Because I don't like when he bleeds from the mouth. That's really upsetting. Oh, when he bleeds, when he gushes blood from his nose and mouth,
Starting point is 00:09:27 that's really hard for me. As a child? Yeah, that was when Tim Burton, I felt, went too far with that film. Tim, you can't go from Pee-wee's Playhouse to this. It was actually too far. I remember being little and being like, oh, he's gushing blood.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And it's black. It's straight up black blood because I guess he's a penguin i don't know i'm so unclear about what he is so deal so what is the deal there she just gave birth to a penguin do you remember how this happened this matt rodgers once did a character at characters welcome at ucb called yeah the villain what was it called the villain that you don't know it was called what was it it just actually okay so there is a community of people who most know me for this um like because i'm sure it's like dc it's like a little comic yeah matt rogers batman i've totally
Starting point is 00:10:14 forgotten the most unpredictable batman villain yet and and you have it you have a perfect joke that sets it up up top where it's like you don't know what like i bet you're wondering what my deal is yeah i'm wondering i bet you're wondering what my deal is and then my whole character's game is like my deal is everything and nothing at the same time because that's how you don't get fucking caught exactly and is this is penguin giving this a little like we don't really know that he's a penguin penguin is actually giving something very limited which is like half penguin half man which is so clearly the thing but he's also like a gangster and like i guess what i'm asking is physiologically like in the backstory of the penguin are we ever told or do we ever understand why she gave birth to something that was half a penguin did she
Starting point is 00:10:57 fuck a penguin this actually is i think really important because if there's penguin fucking happening in batman and i don't know about it, that's something that should be talked about more. Um, it's not made clear. Penguin origin story. Yeah, please. Batman. Did they get into this in the Colin Farrell one?
Starting point is 00:11:18 I mean... He was teased as a child. Huh? And for his short stature, obesity, and bird-like nose, these traits made him an outcast in his rich debutante family. Okay, so he wasn't actually Penguin.
Starting point is 00:11:31 He wasn't actually part Penguin. I don't think he was part Penguin, but he looked like one, and I guess he was teased a lot as a child, even though he was rich. And because he was rich, probably he was teased even more. Here's what I'll say.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Meanwhile, in the film, in the Tim Burton film, probably he was teased even more. Here's what I'll say. Meanwhile, in the film, in the Tim Burton film, my girl was Penguin. Danny was Penguin. I need that explained. I bet he was going home to Rhea Perlman every night going,
Starting point is 00:11:56 they got me dressed up like a penguin. I think this is a terrible day. Does Lauren know that you have DeVito? A bad Danny? A bad DeVito? Well, anyway, it's not up to us who orders these lists but penguin is number eight beating two-faced and bane and i guess he earns the spot
Starting point is 00:12:12 and that's why he is number eight on top 10 batman villains lost cult number seven this is a forgotten great. Jim Carrey performance. I mean, committed the whole way through. Famously did not get along with our number nine, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face. They have different processes. Oh my God. Can you imagine that one of the worst things in the world
Starting point is 00:12:36 for fate to befall you is to have a different process than your close collaborator? Oh my God. I mean, these are two actors who I think are very particular in their own rights jim i think is at that point he was like on top of the world oh and tommy was this is pre-men in black right this is pre-men so i'm sure this is very pre this was like before the big like career. Before signs of humor maybe kicked in. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Did he and Will Smith get along? They had to have. You know, Will Smith is such a loved man by Hollywood that I bet everyone just would say the best things. You're not that successful by accident. He really earned that moment of slapping Chris Rock in the face. Well, that's why people were conflicted. They were so sad.
Starting point is 00:13:27 It wasn't an outright, you know, banishment. I just went back there. And I remember how crazy that felt. I was literally, I had come home from an Oscar party and was in my house doing, folding clothes on my bed at like, you know, the dead of night.
Starting point is 00:13:43 And it happened and I, that was a moment where I was like, I wish I had stayed at the party because night. And it happened, and that was the moment where I was like, I wish I had stayed at the party because I can't be processing this by myself. It was not fun to watch. We're talking about the slap on. Anyway, The Riddler.
Starting point is 00:13:55 The Riddler. I mean, Enigma. He was cutting up magazines, doing those little notes in that movie. Paul Dano, I guess, did a nice version of him. Oh, yes. I actually liked
Starting point is 00:14:08 Paul. I didn't see it. Paul was a highlight. Well, I would imagine. He's so good. One of the most talented actors of his generation. Oh, my God. Paul Dano. We love you. A Lost Culture East West Culture Award nominee with his wife. They did not win.
Starting point is 00:14:25 That's incredible incredible Zoe. Now, The Riddler. Anything else to say about him? I have nothing more to say on The Riddler other than stop joking with me. Stop joking with me. Stop playing with me. But wait, wasn't it iconic though in the 90s movies
Starting point is 00:14:40 when Joker put the question mark on all the bat signals? 100%. That was a riddler it was it was that was cunty and you had fucking drew drew barrymore and who was the other little devil oh that was the amazing oh it was um vivica fox it was vivica fox and drew barrymore no yes it was and robin honey i'll tell you who it was it It was, oh my God, Debbie Mazur. Debbie Mazur. It was Debbie Mazur. Vivica Fox was in Batman and Robin. She played like Arnold Schwarzenegger's little hoe.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Yes. I was like, God, these women deserve so much better. But it was Drew, Debbie Mazur and Vivica in different movies, of course, playing like arm candy. Playing like that girl. And Drew said afterwards, she was like, I had such a crush on like that girl. And Drew said afterwards, she was like,
Starting point is 00:15:26 I had such a crush on Jim Carrey. And she won't answer the question, but I think they fucked. Because guess what? Actors fuck, okay? It's a rule of culture number 30. Actors fuck. And there's no hotter place than sets.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Than a fucking, what's it called? A trailer. Than a trailer. I'm too scared. Something about trailers sucks to me. I've never done it. We know someone that has. We do know someone that has. And that's why Riddler is number seven
Starting point is 00:15:52 on Top 10 Batman Villains Lost Cult. Number six, Bruce Wayne's Trauma. Well, I mean, I think this really speaks to the fact that really our greatest enemy is ourselves. That trauma is villainous.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Look, it's not his fault. We're not blaming Bruce Wayne for like how things turned out or his relationship in opposition to his trauma, but your trauma is in opposition to you. It is not going to enrich you or help you. It is not on your side. It is against you. You have to fight it. Wait, I'm literally sitting here
Starting point is 00:16:26 and I'm realizing that what Batman is about is about how our lives are informed and dictated by trauma. Because all these villains, as a result of what Bruce Wayne's deepest trauma is, he turned into something else to
Starting point is 00:16:41 fulfill a purpose. He would not have been Batman if his parents did not. Right. If we're not murdered. And he would not have been Batman if his parents did not. Right. If were not murdered. And he would not have been Batman if he was not wealthy. And that, in a way, you could argue
Starting point is 00:16:49 that wealth is trauma. Wow. I'm kidding. In a way, you could argue that wealth is trauma, Bowen Yang. The Real Housewives
Starting point is 00:16:59 of New York City are back for another bite of the Big Apple. Look who it is. Joined by elite new friends. Rebecca Minkoff. Have you ever heard of her? But things could change in a New York Minute. She had this
Starting point is 00:17:11 wild night and ended up getting pregnant by some other guy. What? You told her? Not today, Satan. Not today. The Real Housewives of New York City. All new Tuesdays at 9 on Bravo or stream it on City TV+. from being in and out of prison from the age of 13 to being one of today's biggest artists. We talk about guilt, shame, body image, and huge life transformations.
Starting point is 00:17:50 I was a desperate, delusional dreamer, and the desperate part got me in a lot of trouble. I encourage delusional dreamers. Be a delusional dreamer. Just don't be a desperate, delusional dreamer. I just had such an anger. I was just so mad at life. Everything that wasn't right was everybody's fault but mine.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I had such a victim mentality. I took zero accountability for anything mad at life. Everything that wasn't right was everybody's fault but mine. I had such a victim mentality. I took zero accountability for anything in my life. I was the kid that if you asked what happened, I immediately started with everything but me. It took years for me to break that, like years of work. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Trust me,
Starting point is 00:18:32 you won't want to miss this one. I'm Cheryl Swoops, WNBA champ, three-time Olympian, and Basketball Hall of Famer. I'm a mom, and I'm a woman. I'm Tarika Foster-Brasby, journalist, sports reporter, basketball analyst, a wife, and I'm also a woman. And on our new podcast, we're talking about the real obstacles women face day to day. See, athlete or not, we all know it takes a lot as women to be at the top of our game. We want to share those stories about balancing work and relationships, motherhood, career shifts, you know, just all the we go through because no matter who you are, there are levels to what we experience as women and TNI. Well, we have no problem going there. Listen to levels to this with Cheryl Swoops and Tarika Foster-Brasby and I Heart Women's
Starting point is 00:19:17 Sports Production in partnership with Deep Blue Sports and Entertainment. You can find us on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Elf Beauty, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. I feel like you are so right on. And I love that you're being Jamie Lee Curtis about this and saying that it's about trauma. It's about trauma. And you know what? The only Batman villain that's in every movie?
Starting point is 00:19:43 Bruce Wayne's trauma. Bruce Wayne's trauma. Well, there's another one that's in every movie, Bruce Wayne's trauma. Bruce Wayne's trauma. Well, there's another one that's on the list that we'll get to. Yes, there is. Just do wait, stay tuned. But all this is why Bruce Wayne's trauma is number six on top 10 Batman villains.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Lost cult. Number five, Catwoman Anne. We mean Anne Hathaway, of course. We'll get to someone else. The line that I always quote every time she's brought up on this podcast is, of course, does heels hurt? I don't know. Kick.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Do they? And I remember when she goes, oops. Oops. Oh, my God. The shot of her as the maid when her face turns oh my god boan just came and hath the way and hath the way is one of our great talents period and she is forever she is forever i mean like it it is what it is like you know what i'm so fucking excited for is this movie with uh with her and michaela coel like it's like a pop star yeah yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:20:52 lesbian movie i'm not fucking feed that to me with the biggest spoon in the house was vox lux queer at all no i mean is and this is not evenox Lux. It's just like another pop star. I think in terms of accent choice, yes. They're doing that? They're doing me doing Danny DeVito? Because that's what Natalie was giving. Yeah, absolutely. I think that that was one of her queerest performances, for sure, Vox Lux.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Oh, yes. Last. And not until May, December comes out later this year are we going to see something else. I don't know. Do you think that movie will get queer? You know what I'm so upset about? That they're going to push Challengers with Zendaya.
Starting point is 00:21:29 I know. That would have saved movies. But you know that they want to save Zendaya for press. Like Zendaya? They want her out there. They want Zendaya out there for that and Dune 2. Which they also pushed. They pushed.
Starting point is 00:21:43 She's going to have a busy year. She's one of our biggest stars. When people say, we've said this before, when people say now, oh, there are no movie stars anymore. Lies. Lies.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Zendaya is right there. Anyway. Anne Hathaway is steps away from you. Okay. And that is why she, Catwoman Anne, is number five on top 10 Batman villains. Lost Cult.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Number four, Joker. Wow. Would you say this is low placement? I would say that this is the lowest placement Joker has ever gotten on a list like this. Yes. And we're not afraid to go there. Because he's at least number two, because people are at least going to be like, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:22:21 And you know what we'll do? We'll say that Joker is number two so that everyone's like, oh my God, what's number one? So they keep reading and we'll be controversial. It's very Rolling Stone. It's very Rolling Stone. Let's leave that. But not as Rolling Stone as making Joker number four. Rolling Stone could never.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Rolling Stone could never flop like this. We're not. You think we're flopping? No. I think we're soaring. We're slaying. I think we're flapping our wings. That's what I meant to say, flap.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Rolling Stone could never flap like that. They could never flap like that. I mean, Joker, like, come on. He's a Lost Culture Award winner. Right. We do have to say that. But also, like, as a villain, as a Batman villain, look, there's already a crime, there's already,'s already a crime mob boss conciliar kind of guy,
Starting point is 00:23:08 and that's Penguin. So it's like you're already kind of like, your market share is not totally there yet because you're bumping with Penguin in a lot of ways. Yeah. And like, are you laughing? Are you not laughing? Like-
Starting point is 00:23:24 I think he is. But like the way Heath did it, it's like I didn't hear a lot of laughing from Heath and I kind of I wanted more laughing. No, I want that's very Matt Rogers laugh. That actually kind of was the laugh I
Starting point is 00:23:40 what laugh did I do in this video? I did like a Batman villains laugh. Are you... If you were offered Joker for film... Absolutely. I think I would crush. I think you would. That's what I gave. Very Mark Hamill. Very Mark Hamill as Joker.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Yeah. Can you believe... But I think also part of this bit was my laugh was different every time. Oh, yeah. In fact, I remember that was a game move, that the laugh was different because if why would I give you the same laugh? I don't want you to know who I am. I'm here to terrorize Gotham. Genius. Are you not gagged that Mark Hamill
Starting point is 00:24:15 can do that? I'm gagged by pretty much everything about Mark Hamill. Same. Gagged. I mean, Joker, I mean, what else? It's so first thought. You know, that's all I got. It's just too much. And here's what I'll say.
Starting point is 00:24:29 All this being said, Joker has the best version of a sugar and spice Art of Erica Fox in Harley Quinn. And Harley Quinn has stood the test of time. And I think Harley Quinn is taking over the Joker. In fact, I think that's going to really be very apparent in Joker folie a deux. We're not going for what's-his-face? No. For Joaquin? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:54 You know, I used to think Joaquin was one of the ones for me, but, I mean, now I'm at the point where, like, I'm certainly not going for Joaquin. I think I'll be seeing Joker folie a deux for the one and only Lady Gaga herself. I respect Joaquin a great deal. Yeah. seeing Joker for the one and only Lady Gaga herself. I respect Joaquin a great deal. Yeah. That is a man who sticks to his values and is
Starting point is 00:25:09 obviously very talented. Say that. But I'm buying a ticket for Gaga. I'll be in the audience for Lady Gaga. And that is why the Joker is number four on top ten Batman villains Lost Cult. Number three Bruce Wayne's Privilege. The other villain on this list that shows up in every Batman villains. Lost Gulch. Number three. Bruce Wayne's Privilege.
Starting point is 00:25:26 The other villain on this list that shows up in every Batman movie. Mm-hmm. The Privilege. Remember when I said wealth is trauma? Yeah, I remember that.
Starting point is 00:25:36 And how trauma is a villain? Mm-hmm. That is the transitive property. Trauma is a villain. Trauma is gone. Oh, my God. Should we release a response to karma called trauma?. Oh my God. Should we release a response to karma
Starting point is 00:25:46 called trauma? Yes, called trauma. If A equals B and B equals C, then A equals C. If trauma is a villain and wealth is trauma, then wealth is a villain.
Starting point is 00:25:57 You are, as Kiki Palmer would say, you just ate that. I'm on the floor. I'm on the floor. As Kiki would say. You just ate that. I'm on the floor. I'm on the floor. As Kiki would say. You just ate that. Because you're so right.
Starting point is 00:26:09 And also, it's a blinding. He often thinks that he... One of the things about Bruce Wayne is he really doesn't see the people he works with. He is often with Robin, discarding. He is not understanding. He is not really mentoring. No. Because of his privilege. You know what he thinks? Batman thinks just because he put Robin up
Starting point is 00:26:30 like, what do you have to complain about? You're my sidekick. No. It's like, no, no me. No me. No me. Robin is saying in every single scene, no me. No me. And Batman is I mean like you know he doesn't treat the help well.
Starting point is 00:26:48 That's why only Alfred trusts him. Yeah, because Alfred doesn't know what other opportunities are out there. Right. But also, it's like, that's a huge red flag for me. Because if Batman shed his privilege a bit, he would have a staff. He would not have one man. Well, they have a sexual relationship. Of course.
Starting point is 00:27:04 And I'm not spreading rumors i'm just calling it like it very much right is i mean they have a sexual relationship these women are beards these women are so he doesn't stick with any of them he has one relationship that's long in his life immovable sense of justice. Yeah. And that's how you get J.K. Rowling. Wealth and distorted sense of moral values that you think that you believe to be true. You finally said it.
Starting point is 00:27:41 Batman as J.K. Rowling. You finally said it. Okay. And that is why bruce wayne's privilege is number three on top 10 batman villains lost culture number two catwoman michelle innumerable are the ways in which this is an iconic performance role and moment in culture a timeless moment because and it really showcases the power of film because this will reach people at any age you could be us and be a little child and watch this
Starting point is 00:28:16 movie and go there's something about this woman 100 or you could be like a grown man watching it in hindsight or you could be a fucking 90 yearold woman watching it in the 90s and thinking, there's something about it. Like there's, Michelle transcends time. It transcends time. And here's what I'll say. We would not have even wanted to see another version of Catwoman had it not been for Michelle's Catwoman.
Starting point is 00:28:39 I'm pointing an agreement. I'm pointing my index finger. And the big problem with cultural history is the fact that there was never a spinoff with her maybe maybe not because her place in the culture and in the lore of those movies actually is like kind of cunt that like she never came back again but we know she still exists but i am always a maximalist and when it comes to more like I'm the person saying Big Little Lies season three
Starting point is 00:29:09 you know what I mean I just want more and I know I'm saying that's and just like that has proven me wrong here but like I wanted another Michelle as Catwoman I will never
Starting point is 00:29:19 and this is Lesbo speaks to Michelle and every other person who's played her I will never say no to Selina Kyle. No. And can we, can we just give it up for the name Selina Kyle? She was thrown from a building by her boss because she knew secrets.
Starting point is 00:29:36 And then the kittens. She was curious like a cat. Curious like a cat. But she landed and then these kittens start nibbling at her fingers. And then she wakes up and is contrast. She wakes up in a scene that should have gotten an Oscar nomination and walks around her apartment. And she is realizing her behavior was cat-like.
Starting point is 00:30:03 The cat jumped out. The behavior that she was exhibiting was cat-like. The cat jumped out. The behavior that she was exhibiting was cat-like. The cat jumped out. The cat jumped out. And never really jumped back in. Never jumped back in and jumped into our imaginations. And jumped into history. History.
Starting point is 00:30:18 That is why Catwoman Michelle is number two. On top 10 Batman villains lost culture number one Poison Ivy bet you didn't see that coming did you I think they did I don't know I'm sure some of these
Starting point is 00:30:38 girls these readers Katie's published this thought oh Harley Quinn number one no it's Poison Ivy specifically Uma but all iterations are valid was this one i just thought oh harley quinn number one no no it's poison ivy specifically uma but all iterations are valid everything that she had to that film and was really the only one in the movie who truly understood the assignment she was really the only one who said no i get what movie we're doing i love it and i'm committing to it everyone else you know what men men we should say i'll say this all respect to chris o'donnell all respect i love chris o'donnell deeply he was a
Starting point is 00:31:13 sexual awakening i have debased myself for many men who look like him and oh wow yeah you know yeah you know who i'm talking about oh 100 it was very vivid he looked he looked like him yeah i know and it goes a long way it it fucked me up okay let's keep going the man in my dreams look like chris o'donnell fuck me up hey fuck me up that's a kind of interesting interval absolutely fuck me up hey fuck me up! Hey! Hook me up! Hey! Yes! Listen, what I want to say about Poison Ivy is she once screamed, Curses! And it worked.
Starting point is 00:31:58 It worked. Curses! And then what's her famous line that you love? As I told Lady Freeze when I pulled her plug, this is a one-woman show. You know, I blamed all the men for not understanding the assignment. Alicia didn't get it either. No, she didn't get it at all.
Starting point is 00:32:12 That's sad. You hate to see it. Alicia looked confused. George looked like he couldn't give a fuck and threw it all away. Arnold was giving something. It wasn't quite right. But it was something and it's unforgettable.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Uma was bullseye. No, Uma was giving something. It wasn't quite right. But it was something and it's unforgettable. Uma was bullseye. No, Uma was dead on. Uma was researched. Uma was giving choices. Uma was tonally right on the money. Also, you get the sense that like she was, well, she was obviously having fun, but there's a scene where like she realizes something
Starting point is 00:32:43 and she goes, and I'm just going to do it for you. And then she goes, she was obviously having fun, but there's a scene where, like, she realizes something, and she goes, and I'm just gonna do it for you. And then she goes, she goes, another, another, another iconic line. Forget the geriatric bat. Come join me. My god, it needs tending.
Starting point is 00:33:00 I think, is it fair to say, and this is, this is why she beat up Michelle Pfeiffer, I think... Is it fair to say, and this is why she beat up Michelle Pfeiffer, I think Uma has had a huge impact on you. I think so. Uma as Poison Ivy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:17 There's a lot of behavioral similarities. That is so... But all this time I thought, and I'm still thinking, that's so Matt Rogers. I feel spiritually connected to poison ivy for sure she is a hero to me when she kissed men they died i wish i wish these just these boys each of them oh my god but that moment when i remember thinking damn it, when Chris O'Donnell takes off his little lip cover. Rubber lips make me immune to your charms or whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:51 And she goes, but as a kid, I go, no, I wanted him to die. I was on her side. I wanted him dead. That says something about you too, that you wanted someone who was like Chris O'Donnell to die with your kiss. And then he did not perish he did not perish he lives still today
Starting point is 00:34:10 but wow i mean also the color story oh my god green and pink go together and red red hair snatched curves if chapel road knows what's good for her, give Poison Ivy this Halloween. Give Poison Ivy this Halloween period. Yeah. I want to see a show live with her in a Poison Ivy geish. I'm sure she's been told millions of times by people. You look like Poison Ivy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:35 You should dress up as Poison Ivy. Every person with red hair. And she probably goes like this. Every person with red hair. Feminine Aminon. Feminine Aminon. Really, what Poison Ivy was? A feminine Aminon. She was a feminine Aminon. Feminine Aminon. Really, what Poison Ivy was? A Feminine Aminon.
Starting point is 00:34:45 She was a Feminine Aminon. That's a rule of culture number 39. Poison Ivy was a Feminine Aminon. She was hot to go. She was, her kink was karma. She was dancing up at the Pink Pony Club. She was naked in Manhattan. She is, Poison Ivy is Chapel Run and Chapel Run is Poison Ivy.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Period. I can't wait to have that really land with her. Oh, this is why Poison Ivy is number one on the top ten Batman villains. Last Colch. Another one in the books. Thrilling one. I love these episodes. These are the great episodes of our time.
