Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the show everyone that's Marcus Parks, I'm Ben Kissel, with this as always to my left, there's a fella he looks handsome today, all right get your chousin shoes on today we're getting urban with the dancing flavors of what they all the kids are into we're gonna go down to to harvard square and smoke a jazz cigarettes with all the best jazz musicians the hip cats out there the waggling knees and the big bowler hats and I just love I love the flair I love the flair of what these kids got going on today because I gotta tell you it ain't your mama's jazz that's right my name is Wilkie Renderson Wilkie Wenderson oh yeah and I got all the touch of what all the urban youth are doing today
Starting point is 00:01:05 with their long socks and they've got their they're dying their hair with light so it's a super red color it's amazing to see how long have you been in the radio game Wilkie I've been in the radio game for three months baby three months yeah I've seen I've seen it move from the guitar to the tuba back all the way back to the guitar wow all in three months time absolutely come on and get yourself some jazz I hear that it's a it's a good way to make your parents old knobbly me well thank you so much Wilkie and of course that Wilkie character was played by Henry Soprowski and today we have a very serious podcast very serious podcast that jazz music was not played on accident today we are discussing black serial
Starting point is 00:01:46 killers a very under reported group of serial killers this is the thing again everything we say here is from a character's perspective right right are you so you're playing it I give you races no I don't want to actually there there's really nothing to what I've discovered in researching black serial killers for a while like I we always kind of figured that there were not very many because we were one of the greatest myths of all time it is a massive myth these people like these people what do you mean by these people I'm talking about black serial killers okay just jump higher yes they stab harder but the thing is what I think what do you think that they are better at killing no if you had to put Dahmer
Starting point is 00:02:26 or black serial killer the way history is now being framed is that what black people have brought to music dance art acting in sports everything we just happen to bring to serial killers we just have the extra edge so would you extra flair would you say that it's one of the last bastions of white pride is our ability to murder like that we still have that right you could also like the last thing that makes us scary right right right it's a really the last thing that we're like well or our our ability to call a lawyer at a drop of a hat that's scary and our ability to stab that I know one and then he'll work on the guarantee that I'll pay him afterwards exactly exactly well there are definitely less black
Starting point is 00:03:09 serial killers than there are white serial killers in the United States and I have two theories as to why that is I think the first theory is that a lot of these people from what I've researched they kill within the black community sure a lot of them kill black prostitutes right and of course it's well known that black homicides are very under reported yes very under reported no snitching policy no investigation no reporting and a lot of these women are black prostitutes who are on the lowest wrong definitely police investigation you think it's hard to find a white prostitute I mean that's why Joel Rifkin the New York City serial killer got away with killing countless prostitutes to the point where cops were just like you
Starting point is 00:03:46 notice never notice the streets are like just like less prostitutes are just like empty shoes lying everywhere like glitter dresses just caught up with scissors until like mass like someone's right wearing them like they're wearing a mask and called himself like the dark Spider-Man and that's what it takes to get to get to the attention if you're a white prostitute so you can imagine how difficult it is if you're a black prostitute and the second reason why there are more white serial killers than black serial killers this one's gonna blow your fucking mind I can't wait let's blow it out there are more white people than black people whoa buddy leave the numbers at home we're talking murder here we know
Starting point is 00:04:21 how to leave the condom in the dresser thank you irish people I'm also gonna put that out there thank you to irish people thank you because that's what they do they just they fuck they fuck on piles of trash I love that we're talking about black serial killers and somehow you're racist against the irish I'm just saying like let's be let's put the races and where it belongs yeah on the irish of hot people that live in the middle of a bog that just make kids like it's their fucking job thanks for listening got a real job Henry can you not they're a massive demographic for us we love the irish and please continue to drink and and be merry and enjoy our irish people this is not about irish people this is about black
Starting point is 00:05:00 serial killer that will cover irish serial killers later on but basically just irish serial brothers right I would also say before we get into some specific people here I think also the urban environment is a little more difficult to get away with multiple multiple murders you know you tend to get like the Joe duffel bag with that fella the serial killer John Doe duffel bag John Doe duffel bag because he had a duffel bag in the picture he got away with three tops because of all the surveillance cameras if you're in Wisconsin or in Iowa you can isolated space forever but actually but there's a an anomaly to being in a giant city like hiding in plain sight you can hide much even when they talk about like one just
Starting point is 00:05:39 throw one of these out here so one of the examples of a serial killer we're gonna cover there's a major there's major ones that we're gonna cover and then there's like a bunch of tiny ones that are just like just to show you how many there are there's a man named Harrison Graham who was operating in the I believe it was the early 90s who was a serial killer who lived in a tenement house right now you know his thing was he was a very large man who grew up in the care of a prostitute his mom was a prostitute and he basically grew up in the projects for a long period of time and similar to Richard Pryor's childhood but this guy didn't choose comedy he chose and by the way this guy went from 1986 to
Starting point is 00:06:18 1987 which we will cover later on is the golden age of black serial killer really okay he was he was in Philadelphia he basically what is a run just a quick run town of Harrison Graham is that he had IQ was 63 he created that higher low percent that is crazy do you remember you don't remember Forrest Gump yeah what was Forrest Gump 73 Forrest Gump was 73 yeah so he was 63 remember that your boy is 74 is average intelligence your boy is right below the line wow yeah did you suck that dude's dick you got to get into college somehow yeah um he was far below that okay so he basically he created always said life is like a box of bloody knives but that's kind of what even what it was like he he had
Starting point is 00:07:07 a a sort of tenement room sure just filled with dead bodies he created an alternative persona called Marty that he wrote on the wall and blood and then he basically was like Lord told me I was done sinning and I knew I knew that I'm not supposed to have the hand of Gabriel like saying like right right right shit and he fucked up he basically he killed his girlfriend which is kind of like how my retarded cousin you know got married and had a wife for a period of time which is really fucked up it's just how did how is that how are you equating these two essentially I think when we started people together it's kind of like a hostage situation for a little bit yeah yeah okay yeah Henry Zabrowski rules
Starting point is 00:07:47 of life retards cannot love they can't they just hug and they grab and they have a pure heart you know but it's like it's like if you gave a Saint Bernard hands and like brushing strength but it's like well thank you to our all of our retarded listeners well we love you very very much I can't believe you're working iTunes but I'm glad you're bumping our numbers that's right but he he had a girlfriend for a little while that he strangled the death and then he kept fucking the corpse and then he would bring other women in there and he'd be like I knew I had to I had to move the bodies when I get the new girl in there so I take the body I'll put it up in the ceiling and then they fall through the
Starting point is 00:08:23 ceiling and like he basically when they found him he had like nine bodies in there that he had just been fucking and stuff for a long time this was all in an apartment there's all an apartment and basically they called they found who he was because he rented the place and then his mom was like I'll basically called him you like honey honey you gotta come out and talk with the police like mama don't don't want to go to the steel room don't want to go to the happy place and they're like no no no and you have to come in and they just literally found him standing next to a mailbox going like I don't want to be arrested Marty did it right you know and they arrested it up and then Marty you know with him Marty
Starting point is 00:09:00 was doing yeah he was right right yeah I love that character that character voice is very good yeah I like that too that's very good yeah it sounds like I retarded black serial killer I think you know she just lied there and so I took it as a yes but why not just ah man I looked at her pussy and I was like more Marty don't you do Marty and then I just bit it off I bit a pussy off if you mentioned if you mentioned pudding pops you got you're you're close to a Cosby as well but that is just one that is one example of a woman over there and bodies who just fall from the ceiling of this guy's house yeah it was nuts and going along with the theme of victims all of his victims were female addicts okay addicts and
Starting point is 00:09:43 prostitutes he'd lure them over to the room with drugs and then strangle the fuck them and then strangle them and then keep fucking the bodies yeah I would say that this is probably not high on the detective's list of no no no no crimes to solve he was just hiding in plain sight he literally just found it yeah just like walked into they were researching they were like they were investigating something else and they walked into his project and we looked what the fuck is that smell and then they walked past the door that had Marty written on blood on it right and then they just walked in and found nine bodies and they were like I mean neighbors said nothing very very very few of these killings were solved by police
Starting point is 00:10:21 work in fact right some would argue one was solved by actual police work the grim sleeper and that was one of the most famous and that was only after a huge expose a front by the LA weekly but we'll get to him later right all the rest of these are all accidents just these people fucking just getting reckless and you know victims escaping like Dahmer was also an accident I feel like it's very difficult to solve these sort of serial killer crimes they're very good because they're happening in private and they're happening really secretly it's not like he's running around the street stabbing mailmen you know right not yet for example anthony soul the cleveland strangler killed 11 women he was only caught after he
Starting point is 00:10:59 brought a woman home and she was able to escape after camera on her head yeah yeah like filming something for VHS 3 which is gonna be really really good he hit her he choked her he raped her she passed out he thought she was dead she woke up she ran out she brought the cops back they found two bodies lying on the living room floor and then they started searching the house they found four other women throughout the home buried in a shallow grave in the basement in the backyard they found three more bodies in the remains of a fourth they found a human skull in a bucket inside the house tell tell oh that's my head bucket I call him mr sprinkles mr sprinkles the the bucket in the head he always tells me stop stop doing what you're doing and I'm
Starting point is 00:11:44 like well you know shut up mr sprinkles not now mr sprinkles I would like to hear the cops discuss how many bodies there were two plus four plus three there was seven nine bodies homicide on sesame street one two bodies in the bathtub does anyone think sesame streets getting like really really blue one hell of a bucket the system is changed a lot of penis that I put in the mouth of the head I think they got a new head writer or something it's really getting bizarre so I come in his brain it's like he's crying through his eyes you know what Samantha we're gonna turn off sesame street now we're gonna put on Elmo I guess Elmo is on Sesame Street Dora the explorer well it's very quick information about the Cleveland Strangler he worked in a as a child his stepfather
Starting point is 00:12:34 forced his mother to strip naked in front of him and his siblings and whipped her with electrical cords I love fashion you know fashion week has been amazing all week I love to see what they do out there is that a Mark Jacobs thing uh-huh he began raping his niece on an almost daily basis for two years starting at the age of 11 his father did or he did he did uh in 2007 he began collecting unemployment benefits he earned his living uh selling scrap metal and of course the neighborhood complained about the dead body smell coming from this guy's house and he was a member of an online dating service this is a fun little clip about him he was a member of an online dating service where he stated that he was a quote master looking for a submissive person to train well
Starting point is 00:13:19 that's that's another common murder I'm a serial killer we hear that a lot there was a another black serial killer named Maury Travis who also known as the videotape murderer yes again he operated for how long he operated for a while right he had a yeah his run was uh relatively lengthy I thought yeah it was I mean that it was uh lengthy enough for the guy I think he took a cool off period of like three years yeah yeah he uh he ran his uh what was it the it was in 2001 it was like it was pretty like what was the final number I'm sorry I just lost my uh he got he murdered up to 17 women they're pretty certain it was it was a number of prostitutes that basically went missing and they would all find them with the same thing where they were tied and gagged they were strangled
Starting point is 00:14:04 uh and he left a bunch of common them but then they'd know what no one knew how to like it's it's such an exact science but the main thing what they found is that when they finally investigated uh the the crimes and they started like looking for these missing prostitutes they found his house he was very upset um basically he said what are you doing here at seven o'clock in the morning yeah a little early I would say though interrupting a serial killer at that time they wrote a piece uh about uh because it's in st louis right which is horrible and st louis is my one I'm sorry if you're wondering no it's always one or two on the uh on the murder capitals of the country which is so bizarre you can see the filth in the air of st louis yeah you really can
Starting point is 00:14:44 yeah because it's all over the breasts of the ladies yes um but he went out he basically wrote a letter after a one of the his victims was profiled in newspaper he wrote them a letter being like basically saying like you you know there's a lot more where that came from blah blah blah and sent them a map of another do you have the actual he said nice sob story I'll tell you I'll tell you where many others are to prove I'm real here's directions to number 17 and they he uh they sent he they went to where the directions marked there was an x on a map they went to uh the spot they pushed aside weeds and they found a skeleton yes and but what he did was is he sent an expedium map but with his account logged in and then they found his account found the from the IP address
Starting point is 00:15:29 that it came from I went and just picked him up that's even dumber than what BTK did yes send the disc but they found the very top is like his apartment was like meticulously clean they said and then they went to the basement and it was a fucking torture chamber and what we did not find out is that they found a um basically he had videotaped all of his murders right and uh be a toy became known as a videotape murderer and uh we have some transcript from it now there you this is actual audio from the videotape right I can't hear you what you say stay clear you want the master they're pleased with me to serve you you want the master they please me sorry and I've got just a little bit more pretty steamy stuff yeah it's fun to hear right
Starting point is 00:16:26 oh yeah yeah hope you're not having a bad day at work here's a little bit more you are now this is first kill number one first kill is 19 years old name first kill was nice he needs to get a sound guy yeah he needs a grip uh gotta hold that boom mic yeah he says first killed name I don't know and I don't give a fuck yeah well he's a definitely he's a lunatic he's a real Woody Allen a serial killer you know 17 videos and he uh yeah and they were all one was labeled my wedding story yeah okay and then he got married well the first part of it was a wedding right and then the second part of it was yeah and then it was a bunch of alph a couple episodes of alphi that was rough because that's like that's hard to get maybe a
Starting point is 00:17:20 little uh home uh what does that do no it's not too well a home improvement yeah maybe and uh Maury Travis killed himself in prison shortly after being apprehended he stuffed toilet paper in his nostrils put a gag in his mouth pulled a pillowcase over his head managed to thread a noose made from a sheet through the tiny holes of a mesh fin above his toilet managed to tie his own hands behind his back put the noose around his neck and jumped off the toilet he left a suicide note declaring he would rather kill himself than face execution in life in prison I doesn't make any sense but at the same time it's it that's a very thorough that's like a home alone type I think it's definitely a lot of child's kind of like work oh definitely yeah
Starting point is 00:18:01 tying up your own hands and hanging yourself like that I don't have that kind of I don't have that kind of strength um but this is another example of a guy like that so that's that was very intense and then another one is very brutal you would almost think that that guy would have a little bit more fame behind him because they don't get relatively intense coverage tense murders there I mean we did find out about this guy through an A&E uh show so there's some a little bit covered everybody because they were just looking for material right true you had a room of writers being like I just got off of Dave's world and I just got done watching it it's like Dave's world I wonder are you gonna start writing these episodes A&E biography yeah and just start going
Starting point is 00:18:36 through st louis newspapers being like guys we got like 50 stories right here and they're all fucking disgusting yeah I mean if you're a member of the black community you have to wonder why these things aren't covered and I think it's ironic because half of it's not covered because white people are like we don't want to talk poorly about black people there are no black serial killers and the other half is just like we do not give a fuck you know like we are happy to see black prostitutes dead but it's so it's really difficult yeah it's right under the surface here's like another guy a jake bird who was operated during the 1940s he confessed to murdering up to 40 like 45 yeah with an ax he was known as the Tacoma ax killer and but basically they just were
Starting point is 00:19:12 like no you were just trying to rape people and so they put him in jail for like basically they tried him for rape and the murder of one woman that was like Beverly clitted Beverly June Beverly June but I do want to say why did you Beverly Beverly June clit yeah and then how do you spell this k l u d t yeah that's clit yeah that's a tough one actually that's the sound of an ass hitting a toilet yeah but he they found him with brains all over him oh yeah when they put him to death he hexed them and he said but his final words were I put the take but I don't know if they all sound that way I don't know what this guy's the third one so far I know let's I'm putting the jake bird on all of you who had anything to do with my being punished mock my words you will die
Starting point is 00:20:03 before I do right and allegedly six people connected with the trial died judge Edward D. Hodges have had died of a heart attack one of the officers who took his first confession a police officer who took a second confession died and the court's chief clerk and one of birds prisons guards they were all morbidly obese southerners from the 40s with a voodoo hex that's true lawyer jw selton died on the first anniversary of the sentencing oh very cool super that perhaps the hex is real yeah he choked on an endui sausage endui sausage you said i'm due to cloud this is the thickest sausage I've ever had but I will say I can take it all in one go don't do it don't man don't do it man I couldn't do it jw I think he's yeah he is definitely dying don't help him
Starting point is 00:20:49 him he's a lawyer he knows what to do he's got to swallow the whole thing if he wants to eat from free you're gonna have to pay for that he died what does that mean take the money out of his wallet take the money out of his wallet he's still got a bill to pay yes he didn't swallow the whole sausage down do we sausage how could it not slide down your gullet yeah I always thought that yeah the guy was eating a sausage in Texas chainsaw massacre the kid in the wheelchair for the longest time I thought there was a sausage in his mouth it's like a it's a stogie cigar stogie yeah I thought it was a sausage too I don't think it's a I think it's a cigar guys guys where are you guys yeah that's my dream role it is a perfect yet you need to be in a wheelchair
Starting point is 00:21:26 or something to hover around being like haunted by a maniac yeah that's great so this guy killed 45 people put a hex on everybody so I guess we're gonna we can add that we can add that to his death toll though so we're gonna say 51 well they did an investigation and they were able to positively link him to at least 33 murders sure so if you do 33 god knows yeah the sky's 11 so do we want to get into our first big papa let's get into the first big pop up and this is without a doubt the biggest example of the media not covering uh serial killings within the black community from the early 1980s until 2007 it is believed that there were no less than five serial killers operating in south los angeles it's so intense to me the idea that like it goes we said 53 murders 53 murders
Starting point is 00:22:14 that's nuts five killed by five people well and there's one that we don't even know it was like the Avengers right they were out there just walking around they were just yeah it was it was it was hunting season yeah yeah there's a black avengers there's a sky of my Avengers my Michael Hughes that works i don't know i don't know you're not gonna give it to me all right Avengers Avengers but my my look at right tag Avengers he sold Christmas trees out near lax can't trust him yeah he killed i got big Christmas trees i got tiny christmas you coming up stab you yeah i'm gonna be so about that guy he's not really in the spirit of the holidays is he just keeps waving a machete around he's got a blood soaked san jama kind of weird well i guess we'll
Starting point is 00:22:57 just buy a couple of trees and get out of here i love LA he killed seven women between 1986 and 1993 there was chester turner who killed 10 women between 1987 and 1998 funny thing about chester turner is that every story that i read about him described him as a one-time pizza delivery man whoa that's a very good job one and that doesn't terrify you uh i don't know what else does the idea of a serial killer that is a delivery man because there's a bunch of people who just walk all around being like chester don't you have a job they don't have somewhere to go it's like i was a piece of delivery man one oh yes interesting to think he just went but now i just stay up and i stay up and i stay all right that's enough chest you get along now i love reaching out to you urban
Starting point is 00:23:44 you i think i'm gonna go back to my job being a dentist and a librarian a dentist and a librarian renderson the two whitest possible jobs and they also linked him to 11 other murders all of these guys have more murders linked to them that they weren't able to prove most of the killings took place between a 30 block stretch south from slawson avenue down to figuera street all the way from figuera street to slawson avenue i will say that i have never been so afraid yeah being i was in my car driving through the neighborhood and it was like it was literally like i middle of the day driving a dude was like crouched behind a garbage can and he kept like popping his head up going like like looking at me like i was like are you hiding the fact that you are so bad at hiding shows me
Starting point is 00:24:34 how dangerous you are that is scary when someone's bad at when you see them hiding is not good like cartoonishly like he's got like a bush over his head then he keeps on looking he's the scariest looking dude in the bush is like following the car that bush has got like a do rag on he wants to like take me away from smoking a huge joint right now uh and then there was louis crane who got who killed five he was a construction worker he was a guy that uh another guy that is defense attorneys he had an IQ of 69 his defense attorney said he was too dumb to kill anyone that was their only very dumb and kill oh i just thought that when i see them and they go oh they make a screaming noises and i know that you just gotta you put the hand on the mountain today stop screaming
Starting point is 00:25:18 well as you can see he's clearly too dumb to kill so and then let him go for a break day haints and then i say crap for me crap for me all right doesn't matter of fact can i have a different case i gotta say that this is probably the most inappropriate case i've ever been on yeah and then he's too dumb to die is that it is that a defense i feel like that is decided to in accordance to his intelligence we've decided the perfect mode of execution is to put his head on an anvil and hit it with a giant cartoony mallet that's great that sounds fun and then finally uh the biggest one the one that we all know about originally called the strawberry murders uh they call them by police because strawberries was a term that police used for women who trade sex
Starting point is 00:26:04 for drugs okay lani franklin the grim sleeper the grim sleeper the killing began on a warm august evening in 1985 at a desperate point in u.s urban history a time filled with pcp rages and crack wars los angeles's murder rate had soared to an organized straight serial killing that besides besides the term pcp crazes yeah to me that is horrifying there's a bunch of people just doing it just being like it's like the like the 1960s but for pcp it's a pcp pcp rage come on down local 76 we got some pcp we're gonna do some where everybody's getting well i just dropped it everyone's getting dip bits yeah dip it some dip it some you know right i was talking about the candy dip it oh the can find pcp and candy right right amid the bloodshed during a three year period
Starting point is 00:27:03 seven young women and one man were killed and left in alleyways and dumpsters he fell down an empty elevator shaft so and now but he was also killing men he only killed one man oh he only killed one man yeah he only got up to this point i think he's the first black serial killer that we've discussed it's killed any man he killed he only killed one man but the reason why he killed the man was because it was uh supposed that the man found out about the killings yes he was the guy who discovered it uh this of course the grim sleeper lawni franklin he was a guy that operated from 1985 until 2007 that's quite a run launch it's crazy yeah how long they operate in an anonymous especially in an environment like this though well the thing is about lawni franklin
Starting point is 00:27:49 is that he was operating exclusively within his own neighborhood like i mean so just like a three block radius or so a lot a lot of these no it's like a 10 15 block radius gotta look out for each other a lot of these guys like you gotta band together you gotta stop like it's killing i mean i'm sure at some point somebody came up to him was just like if you heard about all the missing girls he's like no i can't believe it that's awful yeah i love women i love women i love whenever they're just lying there you know yeah he doesn't nothing better when you're sitting alone in a living room with a woman and she's just lying there silent you're just like yeah now the tv comes on yeah well here's the flyer and uh just keep an ear out thank you yeah i think we need to
Starting point is 00:28:28 investigate lawni's house well i'll be seeing you i gotta get some milk all right all right well the grim sleeper's mo was to kidnap women rape them take a polaroid photograph of them sure and then shoot them in the chest with a 25 caliber gun and that's where outcast came up with that song shake it like a polaroid picture yes exactly i don't know but it's possible no i don't know let's let's send them an email yeah yeah out at mindspring dot net yeah and lawni franklin uh murdered eight women uh world seven women and uh one man one before finally in 1988 victim number nine was able to get away from lawni franklin and this is how we know his mo because she picked him uh he picked her up he was a very charming guy driving an orange pinto oh that's one of the best colors for a
Starting point is 00:29:21 pinto yeah very class he picked her up and he said hey you know i'm going to a very charming guy uh she described him as i'm going to a charleston competition i hope you come along with me and enjoy some classic beverage iced tea that's great i'm sure it's in your car she described him as kind of geeky but very charming okay and so he said like a young bill gates yes well bill gates might have more blood in his hands but uh so he uh let's get there a little let's let's get political guys uh so he picks her up uh he says we're going to a party he knocks her out he does sort of do the charleston thing i don't remember that part of the song so he rapes her he knocks her out she wakes up what when he takes the polaroid the flash wakes her up okay and she is able to
Starting point is 00:30:22 fuck him wake up and start begging for life and somehow this had never happened to him before at least as far as we know because that's the only thing you ever told me not to do it yeah i mean that's the thing in his head he was like well she's just sleeping there she loves it everyone really is the only thing that people can figure out as to why he let her go is the first person to beg for her let her go it was the first time victim number nine he let her go and here is the fucked up thing about it he let her go and he was doing this on his street in his car right on his own street in his own car doing all of this shit he dumped her out and she is after being raped after being knocked out after being shot like is he also shot her that's how they tied it back because
Starting point is 00:31:07 yeah it was the same caliber of bullet okay that was it lodged within her chest after all this she remembered where she was when she got dumped out of the car she remembered the exact street she took the cops to his exact street and they did a month long stake out three doors down from his house really and they couldn't find him completely because they weren't they weren't looking at his house they were looking three doors down as far as they did there's not even a record of them talking to Lonnie Franklin during this entire time it's almost comedic i mean that is ridiculous yeah it's like the hot dog squad exactly i was gonna say detective popcorn needed to be on that case that's for sure and speaking of dumbass uh fucking task force
Starting point is 00:31:49 names the task force that was assigned to the grim sleeper case was actually pretty bad ass task force 800 oh okay that sounds kind of fun task force 800 i like task force 800 yeah it's pretty bad ass name i mean they got the entire wrong house i mean i just feel bad for the guy that were sticking out who just didn't kill anybody naked woman or you'd like get dressed in one bedroom show everybody like yeah check out them nice nice let's take out for another month on that like it's so excited to see so many delicious popcorn kernels no to take a popcorn you gotta check out the tits the second floor window snow caps with all i need to be tantalized anyone's got the feeling detective popcorn is like you're just like not one of the guys
Starting point is 00:32:34 hey hey sergeant wilkerson you ever wonder what it would be like to have red vines for legs i'm looking at the tits right now they're detective jerky for hair absolutely scrum to lesson loving being delicious hey coffee duty you're at detective popcorn you know let's just go grab us some coffee there and i spilled it inside myself i'm mad oh shit i'm mad all right get the mop boy they'll never close off this case god damn it look at them brown nipples that woman's god and that's the second floor window beautiful brown nipples beautiful brown nipples yes so it's at this point after this woman is henry is rock hard right now by the way absolutely and i just wouldn't rub it i have a pile of sponges that i put a wig on that i rub myself oh that's normal
Starting point is 00:33:24 yeah very good everybody does that gets my outlet no you're not crazy so it's after this point that the man has uh the action that earns him his title the grim sleeper because after this woman escapes he takes a 13-year hiatus i mean he felt that bad about murdering all these women well he just he also wasn't terrified i think it was terrified i think it was the uh the fact that he let her go plus the stake out three blocks three doors from his house that told him maybe i should cool it so she knew exactly where she was when she got dropped off but she couldn't idea did he wear a mask or something i mean she just knew that he was an average looking black guy she got beat up pretty bad yeah brain gets pretty warped when you get beat up pretty bad yeah especially i mean
Starting point is 00:34:09 and after being shot and the trauma of the rape all that like it's a lot wasn't able to really talk to the sketch artist all that well yeah yeah yeah i'm sure the sketch artists are already here like black dude and just like had one printed up i got i got 30 of those back here which one round head or skinny head skinny had nine of these oh yeah yeah yeah absolutely of course oh yeah definitely so he comes back i'll cover you afro shaved okay we got an afro perfect put it on there he comes back in 2002 with the murder of young princess bertham you princess bertham you how did he ever kill princess bertham you prince or bertham and where was andrew the giant to protect her this is this is inconceivable so he kills two more women i love her i love okay and princess
Starting point is 00:34:53 bertham you is the first one yeah he kills two more women i mean the name like that oh i never heard the princess bertham you okay move on from princess bertham i mean i just never heard such a name it just a beauty just a shirt it just sounds like a reptilian it really really does yes princess bertham you yeah it's a shocking name to hear anyway and he kills two more women and this entire time he's been leaving dna evidence all over you know why because he likes to suck on them titties oh really yeah all of the titties of all these women because he wasn't burying any of these women he wasn't putting them in any special place he's just dumping them out of his car in vacant lots and alleyways that's really common too they just they they chop up the bodies and
Starting point is 00:35:37 they just leave them like you saw the same thing with more travis a bunch of people just they just the bind the bodies and they just leave them like a shallow place yeah but nobody fucking finds them yeah nobody finds them and this guy and so he uh it kills three more women and they start doing this thing in la called partial or familial dna analysis okay and that way what they do is they cross-reference dna that they find on crime scenes to p felons that are in the system and they got a hit on lawni sun so they got like a familial dna so his son was committing like that's what i'm saying is that this is the only one that i know of that was actually solved by through through complete police work fucking louis crane you know how he got caught he was
Starting point is 00:36:20 pushing one of his victims bodies down the street in a fucking shopping cart oh man it's all accidental hey uh where'd you buy that body yet i've been looking for uh looking for one of those it's halloween all right they trust traits all this back to uh lawni franklin and how they get him is they put a uh a fake they put together like a fake pizzeria uh oh my this seems elaborate just go arrest the fucking guy well they had to get his dna somehow so they uh staff an entire pizzeria oh i heard this that is ridiculous they staff a pizzeria full of cops and they make sure that they're like hey you want a diet coke you should probably have a diet coke diet coke is great this time of year why yeah well my name is lawni it's free diet coke for lawni's wednesday so
Starting point is 00:37:08 it's the best worst day of his life they get a diet coke they get his dna sample from the diet coke they match it to the saliva and this story had no real coverage in the press until la weekly did a big uh expose on it in 2008 right that's when the cops finally got on it and finally started to uh get this case so pizza chain turned into godfather's pizza owned by herman can himself and you know lawni franklin still hasn't gone to trial really he was captured three years ago still hasn't gone to trial he's just hanging out he's just hanging out yeah that's interesting just regretting that pizza like i do when i have pizza but that's sort of you know you know yeah no one's swabbing for your dna quite yet i mean you know it will be a suit for fans of mine
Starting point is 00:37:52 yes yeah you know it is someone said they made a copy of one of my ears at a petri dish oh that's excited oh yeah they just carved a bunch of my dna off old you know burrito tinfoil yeah they made uh they made a whole penis out of it you're gonna stop licking that burrito tinfoil so much i just hate seeing them that guy keeps sending me pictures of a of a petri dish with an exact replica of my penis and he's just sucking on it saying oh smoking my favorite pipe well i'm sure he loves it all right so we have the grim sleeper here and he's pretty much tops tops the well that which is a part of like a whole family of some of the most of intense serial collectivity yeah um i guess we could start to begin then another big bad boy yeah if we'd like to do we have enough time yeah um and
Starting point is 00:38:40 start with the uh mr dc sniper john mohammed oh this guy now this is what i was wondering though does he classify as a serial killer or a spree killer i i mean he is more of a spree killer i just like i just wanted to cover him in terms of just the fact that he um very interesting what he did he caused true terror absolutely the definition of shut down the entire city he his i forgot his final murder count was his final murder count was ten yeah ten um it was also just the ten convicted ten linked they linked him to a ton of murders across the entire united states and again you know uh going back to the reasons why most uh blacks here are closer never caught the uh the idea on this guy everyone thought it was a white guy in their mid 30s yeah oh yeah
Starting point is 00:39:22 and that was so he was just cruising around i mean no one even came close to suspecting a black guy for these decent situations it was obviously a guy it was obviously a guy with military training um he was doing it exactly the right way uh technically uh and it was so it was in october 2002 it happened over three weeks basically the he had total control of the city they had no idea what he but basically where he was coming from how he was shooting anybody the first thing that they found was like like basically they there was no evidence no whatsoever and they were like because you know the big postulation that he's driving around in a car that's what they're trying to figure out it's like when they find it's like well he's not camped
Starting point is 00:39:59 anywhere he's in a car he's shooting from a car and moving right and maybe there's more than one shooter that's like the first inkling they had killed five people in one day one day five and one day and so and then oh wow basically what they the first piece of evidence they found they did a gigantic walk around once he shot a kid i forgot the name of the child that he shot and he shot men women and children obviously yes he yeah he shot men women he only shot one minor the 13 year old kid yes and he survived but the i was the idea of then he was going to shut down in schools and so what he did was that he left a his calling card was a death tarot card that said call me god to the police and it was a basic written do not share this with the porters because he wanted to
Starting point is 00:40:37 have one-on-one conversation with the police right the murders continued for a little bit and then he called in 911 to tell them his plan himself will actually turn out to not be him it turned out to be his uh his uh young friend his sort of like apprentice lee boyd malvo uh and do we have the call ready to go yes this is the call he made to the police and and this uh didn't get to the police until much later because there were so many tips being called into the hotline that this just got completely lost in the shuffle as did the phone call that ended up leading them to john mohammed one of his old friends okay uh so yeah all this stuff just got lost but this is the phone call look on the tarot card it says call me god sir any time for you to that montgomery county
Starting point is 00:41:37 please hotline we're not investigating the crime you like the number dude that's hilarious he didn't even help she didn't even help no that is so like what do i have to do around here to get the police his attention i mean how is it ironic that a black guy is like cops find me and for the first time you're like oh no no no you're fine i mean he was smart about it by uh trying to get uh actually into the police because they had released most of the uh actual uh evidence that they had and trying to figure out who this guy was the zodiac car the uh yeah the uh tarot card they weren't supposed to release that to the press it actually leaked to the press okay and this guy knew of like the police um the police uh what is it activity of not releasing every single detail they have
Starting point is 00:42:19 to weed out false confessions and all that so he knew that like if he said tarot card they would knew know what he was talking about they know that they would know that they were actually telling the truth they were the guys yeah and so but basically that sort of continued on him and then it bounced from just the water it was in washington dc that's where it started and then it moved to maryland and then the idea was basically what do you find out there here's like a sort of a example of like people who that were shot um it's kind of nuts because it started on august first there was a john guieta was changing a tire in a parking lot in ham and louisiana was shot in the neck by malvo which is like the first thing it's been a long going trial like it was like it was literally
Starting point is 00:43:02 months long yeah and basically after the like once they finally caught him which was pretty exact way they caught him the exact way they caught him is they were able to trace uh everything to this blue sedan through the tip that one of his buddies he was a golf war veteran one of his buddies they served in the golf war with called the mum said this sounds like this guy this sounds like his mo so they were able to trace everything to this blue sedan so they threw out the license plate number they thought like this is definitely our guy this is definitely who we're looking for and a uh a trucker some guy that was driving late at night he uh was just he's heard it on the radio he saw the license plate right in front of him he called the cops he followed the blue sedan and
Starting point is 00:43:46 he said are out there parked in this rest area and the cops came and busted them they were asleep in the car yeah and they got the two of them you know and then of course revealed that they're black and and muslim which is also it's very intense in the fact because there's also a year after september 11 so people were really fucked up already it was intense yeah yeah so it was very intense and then um but then what kind of blows down to i don't know if they labeled this an act of terrorism or not it's not an act they didn't they did they did yeah they try and go where they they framed it yeah he got executed he got executed he did because basically lee boyd malvo totally flipped on him and explain well he was a young kid who was brainwashed 17 but what you find out is
Starting point is 00:44:22 but it turned out to all be sort of even a sort of a smoke screen because john mohammed who was the the main sort of the inspiration for the killings was basically trying to accidentally kill his ex wife and this led me to then research i was like this was all about like it was a kind of what they said about the zodiac where it's like maybe it was like it was a bunch of murders to cover up one hit yeah where it was like he was trying to shoot a bunch of people in order to shoot his ex wife but then i mean the whole plan was to really love her fell apart but the whole thing the reason why he wanted to kill her was because she he believed that she had estranged him from his children which i believe is the most extreme case of i just want my kids back i want my sort of a taken
Starting point is 00:45:02 situation i guess yeah my son but it's like he uh he also i then made me research how many relationships end in homicide right how many we got 17 percent of relationships no that can't be right 17 percent of all relationships your girlfriend or your boyfriend's gonna murder you most likely i'm just gonna say that out loud is that they're gonna get you when you go to sleep that's when the fucking thinking starts that's when the clock starts fucking we're in in their hands this is all going to be used against you on try i'm just saying well the majority of murders are crimes of passion yeah i know that i get 17 percent seems like a relatively high number for the majority are you sure it isn't 70 percent of all murders are uh between people in relation
Starting point is 00:45:44 so i just say i smoked a lot of weed let's just say that out of your dick pipe but when um lee boyd valvo came for basically he totally flipped on him to explain uh like what happened to him like basically saying like he became like a father figure uh john mohammed was like a father figure to him and basically blew up his entire fucking spot by uh talking about what his uh plan was and apparently what this started as is that it was a it was a three phase plan um in phase one consisted of meticulously planning mapping and practicing their locations around the dc area this way after each shooting you would be able to quickly leave the area on a predetermined path and move on to the next location john allen mohammons goal in phase one was to kill six white
Starting point is 00:46:29 people a day for 30 days 180 per month and then basically once in just two small metro areas yeah sending signal the one to describe how phase one that goes planned due to it was heavy traffic and you know you know it's just tough to find a white guy sometimes you have to something like we had a sat watch it was like oh that was on a night court you're gonna watch and now they were able to get away with this so easily was that the blue sedan they had taken out the backseat of it and one person would drive and the other person would stick the butt of it it was a bush master ar-15 same one that adam lanza used at uh sandy hook all right and had a holographic sight on it for your playing cards out there if you're writing down stats you're all writing down ar-15 stats it's a big one in
Starting point is 00:47:09 the killing community uh and they had a hole that they had uh drilled in the back they would just put the uh barrel through and just boom boom yes and it worked worked magic so phase two was meant to be moved up to baltimore malva described how this phase was close to being implemented but it never was carried out phase two would begin with the killing of a pregnant woman with a shot to the abnormal abdomen and then next was they were supposed to shoot a baltimore city cop and then tried to blow up the uh blow up the funeral as many cops as possible and then blow up the funeral again when the ambulance is yes and then phase three is the fucking craziest thing which was to extort millions of dollars from the united states government and then finance a larger plan to travel
Starting point is 00:47:49 north into canada stop along the way to in ymca's and orphanages recruiting young men to be a part of his gigantic army against america and you're gonna stop in a quick trip and get your beef jerky and your sodas oh yeah of course i mean that's what's gonna be hassle stopping to go to the bathroom right right because everybody knows that orphans have tiny bladders yeah that's why their parents give them up is that the reason not for financial reasons at the same time orphans are not team players that's why they that's why they've been moved to free agent status that's what you're calling a child who is no longer wanted by their parents a free agent she's just like are they gonna be able to bring their talents to south beach i don't know right whether they be able to mesh in society i
Starting point is 00:48:30 don't know you're an orphan now so you are i mean i can't trust you you're got pick pocket fingers pick pocket fingers and you're addicted to porridge porridge that's all they have to eat that's what orphans do all right do we have time bizarre idea of what an orphan is it's 240 do we have time to cover the final one that we talked about i feel like we should just maybe do a whole episode on i think we can do a whole episode on this because i want to find a book on this and i want to read about this and i i want to know everything so we should just go ahead and mention that the next episode like there was another there's we will do an old episode totally devoted to the zebra killings um zebra killings are some of the most interesting killings of all time it's
Starting point is 00:49:11 absolutely compelling it shut down san francisco it is it's very intense right on the heels of zodiac so we don't even want to like even start it because that would cheat you onto some of the gory details i will say you know don't research death angels don't research death angels muslim cult because you will get unflagged i know for a fact i'm flagged you're big we're all big time flagged you know i kind of think sometimes that we've been flagged so many times that we've been unflagged we're unflagged when it comes down to it it's like you look at everything you watch me do that and then put out an internet comedy video how are you gonna take me seriously again hide in plain sight ultimate terror cell this guy right here so that's your right your big idea is to get famous
Starting point is 00:49:51 and then you start to kill well yeah super famous comedian goes on murder spree right it does sound fun rallies people behind him and the zebra killings are another prime example of there there hasn't been a movie being made uh there hasn't been a movie about it because i can't believe there's not been a movie because i'm telling you because it's like white producers are just like well i don't we can't talk yeah we can't you know i you know we're about to head into a big summer season i don't think we can start the race war right now right you know like let's um only white people can be raised it's not we can start a race war in march and then we'll be back to oscar season by september right and by the way there is a new movie coming out there is a movie out about the uh
Starting point is 00:50:28 the beltway snipers called uh blue sedan and i saw a trailer for today it looks fucking fantastic most death is in it no he's not he could be though you never i say a washington is that he's great it's gonna be great yeah very good um all right so let's just let's just right okay so we got uh lee roey he did something what lee boyd malva lee boyd malva frank liney franklin i would think it's the only one thing we've said today is what you just said why this is a mistake on the name i one of these i don't know one of these puffy heads puffy heads i'm not trying to put pins in them i'm just trying to give a recap of the black serial killers so people can go out there and research them you you just have to uh we listen to the episode i guess yeah the dc sniper stuff's fun
Starting point is 00:51:11 um and then i don't know my favorite thing about the dc sniper is that he called uh the police and told them to call a press conference uh that and say like we've got him like a noose on a duck yeah i didn't just like one of you's on a duck that's how they know that he they were listening to him is that he would they would say duck in a noose yeah yeah we've got him we've got him like a duck in a noose well that's not gonna sound very good coming from a white cops mouth there's also a story of he's also his former like roommate was like when all the killings was happening he was like i bet john's doing this yeah can you imagine that sit around because of the thing we've all had sort of like creepy roommates but it's like it's like i bet anthony
Starting point is 00:51:49 did this it's like he'd always eat my spaghettios and then like there was always muffled screams coming from him you know but he kept saying it was his video game well a big party on a commercial you're like oh look at that looks like a big part of the movie is about his uh relationship with that roommate okay yeah interesting yeah just him just like you use the hot water and you're leaving bullet casins in the bathtub you know that's where you put them yeah that's fine um all right well that's a little intro a long intro i supposed to black serial killers on the next episode or a future episode we'll talk about the zebra killings yeah hail satan algean and hail yourself hail me i'm the one you're not what are you that pro bowler oh we're gonna jazz ourselves right out
Starting point is 00:52:31 of this episode princess all right i'm gonna charlson my way always down to city hall where i'm gonna vote for nobody for mayor nobody they're all terrible candidates here in new york city i got my raggedy jazz suit on you look good i never drink water only bath tub jay well
