Starting point is 00:00:00 The Epstein files are now revealing the network of doctors, the medical professionals, the deceased financier seemingly had in his pocket on demand. And a lot of what he needed was work to be done on the young women in his life. This is a different angle, a different revelation in the Epstein world that we want to explore right now, as it seems he may have been getting very specialized treatment for the right price. Starting point is 00:01:16 Call and see Dr. Victor regarding breast. What kind of doctor he is. He will send you to his partner that takes fat from your a and puts in your breasts. So that is an example of a conversation that Jeffrey Epstein had regarding medical treatment, this seemingly between him and a female. And I think that this is a prime example of what we want to explore right now. We want to explore something that we haven't really talked about regarding the Jeffrey Epstein files, the doctors, the medical professionals, the staff, seemingly a part of Jeffrey Epstein's web.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Because as we're trying to investigate and examine those around him and his inner circle and what he was up to, now we're asking, what were these medical professionals, around him seemingly doing? Was there an effort to keep Epstein's requests, and more importantly, the patients, the females, that he seemingly referred to them, extra private? The New York Times did an incredibly in-depth piece on this, and so that's what we want to analyze. For example, according to the Times, Jeffrey Epstein had medical professionals who not only treated him, but also those around him. And there's an analysis here of how he was highly valued,
Starting point is 00:02:25 particularly since he was providing massive donations. Now, of course, there are always big donors to medical institutions. Sometimes they get specialized treatment. But this is Jeffrey Epstein. So we look at it very differently, don't we? And I also say, it's also the alleged use of these doctors with respect to young females in Jeffrey Epstein's orbit that we have to analyze too. It seems that Epstein was eliciting these females to get pelvic exams and liposuction and skin removals and high-priced treatments. And even on one occasion, trying to get one, some sort of position, some sort of job. Again, this is according to the New York Times review of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which we have been covering almost every day here on Sidebar.
Starting point is 00:03:07 But I'll give you an example. 2016, there is this email from redacted to Jeffrey Epstein's assistant Leslie Groff. Hello, Leslie. I'm with Jeffrey now, and he told me to ask you to schedule my doctor appointment to remove my cyst under the mill on my face. And it was corrected later on the same bowl on my face. Doctor who did juggle nose and redacted forehead. Sorry, don't remember his name. Groff responds, Julia, Dr. Ting can see you Friday, November 18th, 2016 at 12 noon, okay?
Starting point is 00:03:37 And the response back is, yes, perfect. Thank you, Leslie. And what the New York Times claims is that these doctors may have violated ethical rules of their profession, which raises a whole new set of concerns. You know, one big theme that comes up is the idea of potentially sharing patient information. that that is a big concern. For example, let's take this exchange with an unidentified female from 2009. So you have from Jeffrey Epstein, where it says,
Starting point is 00:04:02 I can pay redacted directly. Now, the person that he's writing to, apparently this female writes back, is that a joke? If I'm going to feel comfortable taking advice from someone, it's not a person on your payroll. And wouldn't that take the confidentiality away from what I tell her and give you the right to know? Epstein responds, of course not. It simply avoids gift tax.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I can pay doctors direct. I would never read your emails or invade your privacy. Do you believe she thinks you pay for it yourself? Redactor responds, maybe not, but all the doctors you pay directly keep you well informed about my treatments anyway. And with this one, I don't feel comfortable in that situation. She believes I pay for myself with money you have given me. By the way, I just want to let you know under tax law, okay?
Starting point is 00:04:46 Something can be considered a gift and is taxable when it's transferring something of value or property and in exchange, the other person really doesn't get anything or they receive something else that's lesser in value. And this can include payments and money. So that's what he was talking about with the gift tax. How about this one? So this is 2009 from Epstein to redacted. By the way, this is a year after he pleaded guilty to state charges in Florida of solicitation of prostitution, including a minor, says, I'm going to sleep regarding Magnion or Kruger. We'll talk about them, doctors. They call to confirm that they have done their best. They are the two best doctors in their field.
Starting point is 00:05:24 If you wanted confidentiality, you could have just said so, since I was the one that had called them. They report back. I had taken the time to call. They take the time to make sure I'm happy. You have gone to many doctors, gynos that I didn't call. I didn't call redacted. I didn't call your cellulite treatment place. You want VIP treatment.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Your hair cutter calls. I repeat, I have never invaded your privacy and spend most time helping you grow. Tell me how you've helped me grow. Read how your interactions are what you don't want me to do. And also, I'm going to tell you a lot of these emails are tough to read. So, for example, you have this exchange between Epstein and a female from April 2012, where she writes him, Do you mind if I bleep someone with a condom? Epstein seemingly writes back, not yet.
Starting point is 00:06:05 You must first go to the gyno. I just hung up on Eva. She's going to call you. I'll talk about who that is later. And this is followed up by a later email from him. Did Eva call you? Do you have off from school Friday for holidays? Eva will organize.
Starting point is 00:06:19 and he uses a very derogatory term for what kind of doctor this is, but referring to a female body part. So aside from the fact you can see Epstein is talking to young females, you also get the idea that Epstein was very, very involved in setting up and paying for these appointments and seemingly knowing what they were about. You have this email to Epstein. Redacted went to see the doctor. The doctor said her treatment should be done by January 10th, so hopefully your skin gets better by them. So far, it has only been getting worse.
Starting point is 00:06:47 The doctor said it's normal. And it kind of seems that Epstein was a part of medical decisions too, because if you look at this email that was sent to Epstein, Valya, Valeria is at Dr. Magnani's office and they say she has a really bad infected tooth that requires a root canal now. Is it okay for Dr. Magnani to perform a root canal on Valeria? Epstein responds, yes, of course. This is his decision, wanted to be up to the patient. Dr. Magnani says she needs a lot work done. She needs 11 fillings. She has two black teeth in front that should really be done.
Starting point is 00:07:19 She really needs braces, but he doesn't know how much work you want done on this girl. They are setting her up for the root canal for actually in a couple of days. If you want to speak to Dr. Magnani about the work that needs to be done, he is available. He says she has a hole in her incisor. Okay, something I have to mention here, keep in mind. Under federal law, doctors are not allowed to disclose a patient's private medical information to a third party, even the person who is paying for the treatment. You need the patient's consent for that.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Okay, now I'm not saying that didn't happen here, but just something to keep in mind. Also, by the way, Dr. Thomas Magnani, the Times reports last month that he was fired by Columbia University after the files, the Epstein files, seemingly showed that he fast-tracked Epstein's girlfriend, her admission to dental school, and that Epstein had donated even $50,000 to the dental school, allegedly at the request of Dr. Magnani. But I want to mention a few more doctors here that come into the mix. when we talk about Jeffrey Epstein. Let's start right now with Dr. Jess Ting, okay?
Starting point is 00:08:23 In 2012, there is this back and forth with Dr. Eva Anderson Dubin from Mount Sinai. We're going to talk a lot about her later. But Epstein writes to her in this email about what the Times describes as a Russian student who was on her way back with Jeffrey Epstein from his private island to New York. And Epstein writes Dubin, who's, again, is very, very high up at Mount Sinai. I am flying to New York will land at 630, redacted fellow. off the ATV and need stitches in her forehead and an x-ray to ensure no concussion. Can you organize?
Starting point is 00:08:54 Dubin seemingly writes back. Okay, Jess Ting is standing by. So what does Dr. Ting allegedly do? Oh, I don't know. Performs a procedure right on Jeffrey Epstein's dining room table. Yeah. So in an email to who appears to be Epstein's assistant, Epstein writes, let's buy two proper first aid kits for 71 Street, large ones.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Where is the defibrillator? redacted had a bad accident on the island. Dr. Ting put 35 stitches in her head, laid out on the dining room table. Guess what? In the Epstein files, there is an apparent photo of this happening. So that is insane when you think about this concier service that was allegedly performed for Jeffrey Epstein. I mean, by the way, you go to the Mount Sinai website. Dr. Jess Ting is an assistant professor of surgery at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York, specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Again, a big deal. Now, apparently, by the way, this photo, there was a redacted version of this photo that was first released where Dr. Ting told the New York Times, it wasn't him. Then this new
Starting point is 00:09:56 photo gets published, which we just showed you. He declined to comment to the New York Times. However, in a statement to the Times, Dr. Ting said, in my treatment of these adult patients, I never knew, witnessed or had any knowledge of any illegal or potentially illegal activity. Mr. Epstein represents the very worst of human nature, and I deeply regret having had any association with him. Think about it is Dr. Ting seems to have done some work for Jeffrey Epstein. So you have this conversation I want to call out 2013, where Epstein's assistant writes to Dr. Ting. Hello, Dr. Ting. Jeffrey is asking if you might have time tomorrow Friday, May 3rd, after 4 p.m. to see a very good friend of his regarding her nose.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Please let me know if this might be possible. How about this one from 2014 from Epstein's assistant? Hello, Dr. Ting. Hope you're well. Jeffrey is asking if you could see a friend of his for five minutes to fix a hole in her nose from a nose ring. Dr. Ting apparently writes back. I'm on vacation for two weeks starting this Friday, but for Mr. Epstein, anything is possible. And then there's an email where Dr. Tang seemingly recognizes that doing at home procedures could be a serious no-no. Why do I say that? Because I want you to look at this correspondence regarding removing a cyst from Epstein's shoulder. older, okay? Running late, shooting for 5 p.m. will keep you updated. Also, the department chairman found out I was planning to do the excision today at the patient's home because my assistant was gathering the equipment and said, if I did it there, I would be sanctioned. Ridiculous. And here's the thing, too, these files seem to reveal, and this is emphasized by the New York
Starting point is 00:11:29 Times, Dr. Ting was able to get a $50,000 donation from Epstein for breast cancer research. You have this February 2013 email from Dr. Ting to Epstein that reads, Jeffrey, besides being a plastic surgeon, I also do basic science research on breast cancer. My lab uses a novel approach that no one else in the world is doing. Our preliminary results are promising, but we need funding to continue to the next phase. Would you consider financially supporting us? I hope I haven't offended you by being too direct. If I have, I apologize profusely.
Starting point is 00:11:58 But if this is something that interests you, my lab partner and I would love to tell you more about it. I promise you would find it intellectually stimulating and interesting, warmest regards Jess Ting. And then you see this whole email correspondence, including with Epstein's accountant and Epstein and Dr. Ting regarding the $50,000 payment and the tax issues and so forth. Oh, and by the way, it's revealed that this doctor was also invited and may have visited Jeffrey Epstein's island. Yeah, let me mention this. So you have this communication. Hello, Dr. Ting. Jeffrey would like you to enjoy a day on his island during your vacation. We can have you and your family picked up from St. John on whatever. day is convenient for you, brought to Jeffrey's Island to play with his toys and have some lunch.
Starting point is 00:12:37 I have C.C. Jeffries Island managers, Roy and Stephanie as well as Daphne, who works in Jeffrey's office on St. Thomas. They can assist you in coordinating with you. Please let us know what day would work, and they could take it from there. And Dr. Ting ended up responding later on at one point. Would Friday work for your schedule? That would be the best day for us. Party consists of myself and my friend Michelle and her three kids, 885, and two nannies. All right, let me go back to Dr. Eva Anderson Dubin. I mentioned her before. Key figure here, founder of the Dubin Breast Center at Mount Sinai. In fact, TMZ and the New York Times reported that she was at one point in time in the 1980s, a former romantic interest of Jeffrey Epstein. I mean, by the way, I found this, a 2007 insurance
Starting point is 00:13:19 trust that was in the Epstein files that originally had Dubin as a trustee. So clearly they were close. She reportedly connected him and his associates and maybe even young women to Mount Sinai. Like, there are communications where it appears that she coordinated, for example, a young woman getting a position as a receptionist. So you have this communication where Dubin asks Epstein, what type of visa does she have? And then advises on what this young female should say and offering to speak to her herself. And there even seemed to be some pushback at one point. Like you have this email to Epstein that says, hi, Jeffrey, got your message. See below.
Starting point is 00:13:54 It is a union issue that is preventing finalization of the clearance for the young woman you called about to volunteer. here. Eva wanted help straightening up. As you see, Wayne Keithley, the president of the hospital, will be meeting with Eva to discuss. And Dubin responds at one point, I spoke to Wayne. He did not see any problem with it. And then in another email, Dubin appears to write to Epstein, FYI. We made some progress. I told them she will only sit there and look pretty. So you can see why people would make the argument that Jeffrey Epstein was getting specialized treatment, or at least he was connected to some very well-connected medical professionals. at this prestigious medical institution, right?
Starting point is 00:14:31 And it didn't hurt that apparently he donated quite a bit of money to Mount Sinai, reportedly more than $375,000. I mean, look at this communication regarding $100,000. And look at the access that he had, this email to Dubin, in reference to Epstein having trouble getting hold of his doctors in an emergency. Look at this. The number redacted is the only reliable number to give anyone. It's covered 24-7 by a member of my team.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Please give it to Jeffrey and tell him to put it in his contacts as, Mount Sinai Help, that number goes to a live answering service who pages the person covering our board and donor community, and that person knows they are covering and has their page are at their ear. All he has to say is he's a friend of yours and everyone is great. We've been working together for close to a decade. The ER always runs on triage, but we work behind the scenes vis-a-vis beds specialists. Again, getting very specialized treatment.
Starting point is 00:15:23 By the way, TMZ reported that not only were Epstein and Dr. Dubin romantically involved, but that at one point he also seemingly wanted to marry her. And that Epstein described her daughter, this doctor's daughter, Selena, as his goddaughter, that he was reportedly invited to their Colorado home. How about this email from Dubin to Epstein, seemingly soliciting him for a donation? It says in part, here is the summary of what I am trying to do, budget $5 million, goal, create an all woman's post-op cancer floor. The floor would have a naming opportunity.
Starting point is 00:15:57 for example, the Epstein floor for women, if so desired. Doesn't that just make you feel nauseous in so many ways? You have this email, this is back and forth with Epstein from someone, possibly a female. This was in 2012. Hi, Jeffrey. Eva gave me the number of doctor. I will call and make appointment. But what should I do if they ask how I will pay?
Starting point is 00:16:17 Epstein responds, I pay. By the way, a spokesperson from the Mount Sinai Health System told TMZ, Jeffrey Epstein's actions are abhorrent, reprehensible, and stand and direct. opposition to what Mount Sinai believes in and stands for as an institution and as medical professionals. All patients who walk through our doors will always be treated with the highest level of care and respect. We do not comment on the clinical care provided to individual patients. Since the release of the files, Mount Sinai has been carefully reviewing the information available to us. We will continue to take any and all appropriate actions. And in a statement, the New York Times,
Starting point is 00:16:51 a representative for Dr. Dubin or Dr. Anderson Dubin, said that it was common to make referrals to specialists for friends and acquaintances, including Jeffrey Epstein, but added each referral was made in good faith and without any awareness of wrongdoing. Dr. Dubin never witnessed, suspected, or had any knowledge of Mr. Epstein's criminal conduct. Now I'm going to get back to Dr. Dumond in a minute, but talking about payments, talking about specialized service. The Times mentioned in their piece, New York City dermatologist Dr. Stephen Victor, and he would allegedly perform procedures on women referred to him by Epstein. Yes, there is evidence that Epstein. donated significant money, like $100,000,
Starting point is 00:17:29 to the doctor's beauty product company. But I will tell you, Dr. Victor, at one point in time, was not too happy with the then convicted sex offender, because I want you to read this email in 2009, key timing, by the way. I agreed to not charge the girlfriends, which I have not, but you cannot just send friends and expect me to bear the cost unless agreed upon,
Starting point is 00:17:47 and I asked you over and over, but you do not focus, and you were paid back, and I have been loyal to you about the magazines calling me over and over about you. I have asked you over and over about investing and helping and not just loaning me. You do it for others. You do not even protect you or loyal to you. So I have lived up to my bargain as I promise people expect to pay for services rendered. And remember, that is how I pay my staff,
Starting point is 00:18:11 etc., etc. By the way, seemingly referring to publications that were asking questions about Jeffrey Epstein, right? I mean, again, he was convicted. The year prior, he entered into that sweetheart deal. Well, Epstein responds and in part says, I appreciate your friendship and loyalty. but find it odd that you would believe by not talking to magazines, something that I would have never forgiven, you consider extraordinary. By the way, Dr. Victor told the Times in an interview that the arrangement he had with Epstein, quote, wasn't unusual, that he never felt that Epstein had something over him, that he didn't observe any signs that these young women that Epstein had sent over were,
Starting point is 00:18:48 you know, being abused or were being coerced into going forward with these procedures. By the way, talking Dr. Victor, I want you to look at this email exchange. so this 2011 email to who appears to be Epstein's assistant. I need your help again because on 28th of Wednesday, December, I have my appointment with Dr. Victor for my Accutane program. I don't know if you remember, I am on 60 milligrams. I need to buy 40 milligrams plus 20 milligrams. It's about $262 plus $348, so it's about $680 or $700 with taxes.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Last time, Jeffrey gave me $600. If he can help me with the same amount this time, I'll be very happy. Also, fair to say, Accutane is mostly used by children and young adults. The response back, Paulina, I'm afraid Jeffrey will not be back until January 4th. The response back to Epstein's assistant or associate, you cannot reach him? So then this person asks Epstein about this email communication, forwards it to him and says, do I tell her she is correct? I cannot reach you.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Epstein writes back, ignore. What about Epstein's apparent Florida doctor, Dr. Bruce Moskowitz? The New York Times claimed that Epstein had turned to this person. physician out in Palm Beach for gynecologist referrals in other states and other countries. But the emails also seemingly reveal that the doctor had helped Epstein with the treatment of females in Epstein's world. I mean, look at this text conversation between Epstein and Dr. Moskowitz. After Epstein writes, awake, nothing urgent, positive gonorrhea results. Epstein then asks, I think to be safe, my two friends should get shot by you tomorrow or send them
Starting point is 00:20:19 somewhere close. Moskowitz seemingly replies, yes, JF, JF, K-E-R-North. That way, I do not have to report the cases to health department, including contacts. In other words, by going to this special emergency room, he could maybe avoid the Florida Department of Health requirement of doctors treating gonorrhea to report the names of positive patients. Now, Epstein later texts him, do they say their friend had Gano? And Dr. Moskowitz seemingly writes back, they say a friend overseas. So you can see why this looks super shady, right? Now, the New York Times reported that Epstein had donated at least $225,000 to foundations that were linked to this doctor over a three-year period, that he had him stay at his New Mexico property, that he even invested money in a project involving Dr. Moskowitz's son. And by the way, the New York Times calls us out, too, where Dr. Moskowitz seemingly writes Epstein, Marcia and I are there for you, meaning his wife, and it says, Marsha was livid with the press. She almost punched her iPad. And this was seemingly regarding bad press that Epstein was receiving.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Now I want to talk about Dr. Bernard Kruger. Apparently Epstein was his patient for quite some time. And he operated this kind of concierge ER service. But why that comes out is that according to the Times, Epstein had paid a $15,000 fee a year for Epstein and who were referred to as, quote, girls. And I want you to look at this email between Jeffrey Epstein and his accountant. at the time, where he seems to claim that these females were only to be listed as
Starting point is 00:21:57 assistants 1 through 5 without using names, which I think gives you more flexibility. And the Times notes that a spokesperson for the ER said that the women's names were ultimately added to the accounts, but the Times also reported that Dr. Kruger stepped away from two concierge practices in the wake of the Epstein emails. His spokesperson said, though, the fact that Mr. Epstein was later revealed to be a serial predator does not implicate the physicians who cared for him. Also, I should tell you the Times notes that Epstein was rewarding doctors, not just with donations, but gifts, and like I mentioned, trips to his properties, even introductions to well-known people.
Starting point is 00:22:31 And that actually brings me to another point that Epstein was using this medical professional network to seemingly arrange appointments for his associates, for his friends. Like someone we've talked about here on Sidebar before, former Obama White House lawyer, Catherine Rumler. Dr. Dumond seemingly helped to arrange a breast cancer appointment for her. And we also, by the way, a number of communications between Rumler and Epstein. She actually resigned from her position at Goldman Sachs recently in the wake of the Epstein files. Or how about this?
Starting point is 00:22:59 Where Epstein-Kartologist Roney-Shimony about Leon Black, the investor who has been named numerous times in the Epstein files has been accused of sexual misconduct. I think Leon will need a CT angio. You should organize. Do not keep him waiting at the hospital like me. he already is skeptical of Sinai. The response back, sure. I wish we controlled every aspect of Sinai. We'll reach out to chief there to make sure not repeat wait,
Starting point is 00:23:29 give him my cell and schedule date through office. So what is all this about? Is this about, look, if you have wealth, if you have connections, you get specialized treatment? Sure. But this is also Jeffrey Epstein. This is different. Is this also a case of the rules being bent for a VIP
Starting point is 00:23:44 and for a guy who already was convicted of sex, crimes. That's the difficult question to resolve. This raises a lot of different thoughts. And by the way, it raises a lot of different thoughts like so much in this Epstein file library. That's all we have for you right now here on Sidebar, everybody. Thank you so much for joining us.
