Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the spooky edition of of There are ghosts and spirits amongst us They walk with us every day Guys, this is classic. Like, Al looked low-key sexy, and I look like I've just been released on daytime bail from an institution. No, I agree.
Starting point is 00:00:54 You do look like you've just come out of psychiatric ward, I have to say. I do think it's the hair, mainly. Guys, I didn't have a witch's hat, so I wanted to turn my hair into a hat. So I've just used a tampon, and I'm just trying to stand it up on my head that's better that's better yes much better um welcome to the halloween edition of leave a message we have decided to dress as witches because thank you rahana stay stay with it with the um good value because we are little witches and we know that we're actually we know that we are little witches. And we know that we're actually,
Starting point is 00:01:25 we know that we are actually like category A witches when it comes to like being good people, contributing to the human race. Yeah, we're witchy witches and we're always doing witchy, witchy things. And so we've decided to dress as witches. And if this no stays on for the whole ep, I'll be amazed.
Starting point is 00:01:42 I'll be amazed. Sorry. So normally they're smaller I was thinking more bulbous not so finger like no we've gone full Pinocchio
Starting point is 00:01:49 what's the start of Macbeth we three witches and hoil toil hoil I must read you some things
Starting point is 00:01:57 hoil toil hocus and bubble guys sorry the nose right I must read everyone some Macbeth because it's the nose is so funny babe I some Macbeth because it's
Starting point is 00:02:05 the nose is so funny babe I hate to tell you but you've got the same nose on is mine also flopping around in the wind
Starting point is 00:02:13 okay it's because I've got a giant nose when shall we three meet again in thunder lightning or in rain I still love Shakespeare
Starting point is 00:02:23 I never read Shakespeare anymore I must start doing that some more. When the hurly-burly's done, when the battle's lost and won, that will be ere the set of sun, where the place upon the heath, there to meet Macbeth. I come grey-malcon, paddock calls. And on, fair is foul and foul is fair. Hover through the fog and filthy air.
Starting point is 00:02:54 If you were on the side of a road right now, asking me for a pound coin, I literally would not. I would walk the other way. I think, who's that fucking crazy wacko-tacker? Imagine if you're on the tube right now and you're listening to this. This must be such a trip.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Me reading Macbeth and Al just pissing herself at my flopping nose. Oh, that is too good. So, we just really wanted to do a Halloween special. Listen, we're not Sophia and Chins
Starting point is 00:03:18 and we don't have the budget. What did they do? Shrek and Fiona last year. It was epic. Oh, yeah. We don't have the budget and we don't have the production team. No offence, Rihanna.
Starting point is 00:03:27 It's fine. But Rihanna doesn't specialise in special effects. They fully had a full makeup team and everything. Yeah. Look at us. We've had to... Also, we nearly had a fight with the guy in the party shop
Starting point is 00:03:38 because we... Yeah! I don't even have a hat. Look at me. And he just fobbed me off with this silly black dress and nothing else. Oh, we should else got the green
Starting point is 00:03:45 one i know but it was so expensive because they had a no returns policy and as you all know we love a returns policy and we have to ha you shot what will you do with that now put it in the bin no you must give it to charity why would charity would charity wonder maybe someone that's looking for a cheap halloween outfit might want that after you okay well maybe i'll put it on my instagram and you can come pick it up from my house if you need it. Maybe not the house since we're thinking
Starting point is 00:04:08 we've got a stalker. Oh, yeah. Listen, we're here today to talk about, I have a, I have a real, no, don't interrupt.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Sorry, sorry, sorry. I've got a real obsession with the paranormal. Me too. So I'm very excited about this ep. Have you got any ghost stories to share?
Starting point is 00:04:24 Because I have. I've got some from other people but I sadly have never seen a ghost even though I really want to. I think you'll pass the legal age. Of seeing ghosts? Yeah, apparently.
Starting point is 00:04:33 No, because Emily Morrison who said she was going to send in a voice note and didn't. Em will be having words with you later. When we were in Bali, right, we were staying
Starting point is 00:04:40 in this big house and she went to bed that night with her boyfriend at the time. Cozy, cozy, sleepy, sleepy. She woke up in the middle of the night and there was someone at the end of her bed and she thought,
Starting point is 00:04:53 she thought it was her sister, Rach. She was like, Rach, Rach, Rach, what are you doing, what are you doing? Went to turn the light on, the girl had gone. It was a ghost. It was a fucking ghost. How old was she? 20. Was she, was she ghost. It was a fucking ghost. How old was she?
Starting point is 00:05:05 20. Was she, was she, babe, was she in a drug-induced coma? No, we hadn't taken any drugs that day. Did she do ayahuasca?
Starting point is 00:05:12 No, ayahuasca. Ayahuasca does induce hallucinations. It doesn't even, it wasn't even ayahuasca. Like, Emily, tell them.
Starting point is 00:05:19 MDMA. Was it MDMA? She wasn't on MDMA, to my knowledge. She was not on any drugs. And she'd never seen a ghost before, but that ghost must have been strong and potent in Bali
Starting point is 00:05:28 and it wanted to say hello to her. You just get nice and cosy in there. You tell us your story. You feel so big. Wait, we haven't introduced the podcast. Oh, sorry. I mean, guys, if this is the first time
Starting point is 00:05:37 you're listening to us, honestly, I would recommend skipping. I would pick any other episode to start on. Like, I'd probably start somewhere in the middle. I don't know. Like, geez knows. Yeah. Like, I'd probably start somewhere in the middle. I don't know. Like,
Starting point is 00:05:46 G's nose. Yeah. Like, I would just probably just, I would just probably not start today. I wouldn't start today because like, especially if you're watching
Starting point is 00:05:54 and this is a visual experience for you, I can't believe it's very enjoyable. And also, I would recommend Sophia and Shinsey's Halloween episode over ours.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Can we not say that? Okay. Gotta love them, but, we love them but we love them but also drive traffic here I suppose yeah you're right
Starting point is 00:06:07 Rihanna sorry best take this seriously if we're gonna compete with them actually I've just realised next year will we not get a special effects makeup artist
Starting point is 00:06:15 yeah and at special effects makeup artist could you get in touch slide into our DM if Raw would hurry up and propose to you then we could have
Starting point is 00:06:21 the okay money but you're just so slow you're right we've gotta get that okay money. Hi, this is Leave a Message, a Halloween special. This is the podcast by the galleys for the galleys. If you don't know what a galley is, it's G and alley, and it's our fandom, hysteria, concert halls selling out. It's merch, it's blood ink, it's the girl gang.
Starting point is 00:06:42 And we take your voice notes and we talk about all of the crazy really crazy things that happen in your life I can't believe it you should all write your own soap operas or something
Starting point is 00:06:52 there's so much going on yes and it's a good place to come if you feel like your life is shit because inevitably someone else's will always be worse
Starting point is 00:06:59 yes exactly and this week we're talking about scary things. Paranormal activity. Halloween, guys. So you've never seen a ghost? Right, so I've never seen a... No, don't pretend.
Starting point is 00:07:13 I've never seen a ghost. Don't be a pick-me for the ghosts. I've heard a ghost. Don't be a pick-me. No, that's just your house making noises. I was at school. I'm almost certain there was, in my boarding house, I'm almost certain, there were really weird,
Starting point is 00:07:23 it wasn't just me, like there were loads of weird things that would happen like it literally four in the morning like all the doors on the top floor were just like slammed shut it was weird no but i've never thank you but i've never seen but my sister right we always used to say that my sister had like special powers when we were younger because on two separate occasions the first time is so weird because she was genuinely three years old. And we were staying at our family friend's house, like in the middle of buttfuck nowhere.
Starting point is 00:07:52 And that's where you're going to see a ghost. Yes. And it was a really, really, really old manor house. And my parents were still together then, I know. Shocking. That's quite scary in itself, I suppose. Correct. And anyway, me and my sister were in this twin room and next door were my parents
Starting point is 00:08:05 and in the middle of the night my um parents both had this like like as it sounded like the ceiling had fallen down next door so obviously then my dad comes rushing in and it was freezing cold even though it was the middle of the summer freezing cold yeah they do say that don't they go so cold but like we were totally as like not like uned, unfazed. We were still asleep. And then in the morning, my sister, she woke up. How old was she?
Starting point is 00:08:28 Quite young. Three. Oh my God. And she was like, where did the little boy go? Oh, no. And my parents were like, what?
Starting point is 00:08:36 And they were like, she was like, there was a little boy sitting at the end of my bed. No, thank you. He was wearing a dress. And then like, basically we found out
Starting point is 00:08:45 that there was a child that had died in, like, the 17th century in his nightdress in that room. Spooky. And for sure. And then there was another time where we went to this, like, really old B&B. She was always, she was like, she always had this when she was younger.
Starting point is 00:09:00 You have it or you don't. That's what they say. And we went to this B&B and me and her were sharing a room and like it was a weird room and the whole place was a bit spooky and i will never forget it was me and her by this time my parents like my stepmom was on the scene and they were in like the connecting room and i remember we were lying there she would have been like five six and she was like there are all these faces just looking at me oh my god you'd be like
Starting point is 00:09:23 babe shut the fuck up and it was a place that people stopped before they got hung, drawn and quartered. And it was like a famous place that like all these men had like... And she could see them all. And I just would never forget her going, why are all these men looking at me? They're all looking at me.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Babe, can I tell you, it doesn't just happen to kids because Faye has this friend and I will never forget. She literally, she saw ghosts all the time and Faye said that she used to like you would clock her
Starting point is 00:09:47 clock one I totally believe it crazy totally believe it also like have you not seen like those weird things like you know
Starting point is 00:09:54 those weird videos like cct videos of like ghosts appearing and then they're just like disappearing into thin air in the middle of the street like I totally believe I did go through a stage
Starting point is 00:10:01 of watching a lot of Most Haunted well we take these notes off they're so uncomfortable do you think we should do it without um what are the galleys called today what oh do you know what she named yeah can i tell you what i used to really love when i was younger i used to listen to the worst witch all the time and her name was matilda okay matilda hit it hey galleys hope you are okay have a little story for you so the other week a couple of weeks ago maybe um I went out with my uni friends as we do every week because you're at uni and that's what you do
Starting point is 00:10:34 and maybe around one o'clock a guy came up to me um and we hit it off and we were like chatting, talking, whatever. I feel like that's quite normal for a night out. Ended up inviting me to his, but he lived really far away. So I was like, oh no, like it's fine, you can come back to mine. So he drove back to mine. There was no key at my house. So we ended up in his car and stayed in his car. And we, you know know did some things anyway the next day that passed didn't see him again um the next day I called my sister to update her on my night out
Starting point is 00:11:16 as I would always do and she was like wait a minute I shagged this guy last week and we were I was literally I sat in silence on the FaceTime for about 15 minutes oh also he knew so he also knew that we were siblings but obviously I had no idea and my sister had no idea um so that was fabulous oh my god sister shagger sorry I just want to say and i and i don't mean to make you feel any more uncomfortable than you already do but that is like one step next to incest i'm sorry i have to say it that dick has been in both vaginas and like bacteria doesn't leave that quickly sorry baby i hope i hope he showered in between yeah but like you know he's touched the same he's touched the insides of two sisters with the same cock. I don't know. I don't, it's not incest.
Starting point is 00:12:05 That is so vulgar. You are crazy. Wash your mouth out. So God's honest. Sorry about it. Sorry about it. No, that's really fucked up actually. I just feel like that's like wrong in the head.
Starting point is 00:12:18 And like, that's some kind of kink you've got going on. I don't like it. I have a story. Okay, I have to be anonymous about this because one of the people not very good at anonymous they're two sisters the most important part of the story is that one of the sisters is like a bit famous like she's a bit famous is she oh really fun okay and i like have known their family forever and i will never forget so basically they're two sisters and
Starting point is 00:12:44 they're only a year apart. One's older, one's younger. Let's call them Alice and Matilda. What do they call that? French twins? Yes. Something like that. Something like that.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Irish twins. Irish twins, is that right? That they're born like almost within a year of each other. Yeah, so you almost basically have to get pregnant straight away. Straight away. I actually miss my nose
Starting point is 00:12:58 so I'm putting it back on. So the older one is a bit famous and I will never forget, but the younger one is in my year and I will never forget the younger one one is in my year and I will never forget the younger one let's call her Alice called me
Starting point is 00:13:09 after she'd shagged this guy and she was like I actually cannot believe what's just happened I'd woken up and he was like oh and he called her the name of her sister
Starting point is 00:13:17 and he thought he was shagging the famous one and it wasn't it was and she was like he fully fully thinks that he just shagged whoever Susan yeah famous Susan famous Susan fully thinks that he just shagged whoever
Starting point is 00:13:25 Susan yeah famous Susan famous Susan when actually he's just shagged like normal Alice and like but he would text her
Starting point is 00:13:32 he texts her after as being like Susan did she not correct him no because she was like it's so embarrassing to be like oh actually sorry
Starting point is 00:13:38 you got the wrong one that's the wrong sister can you imagine but now everybody thinks that well now he thinks that he slept with his sister. Yeah, he will be going around saying... So he'll be telling everyone I slept with Susan.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Correct. But actually he didn't. He didn't even get a look in at Susan. Jokes on him. Sorry, that is actually horrible. I mean, I don't know. I just, yeah, it's not ideal, is it? It's not ideal.
Starting point is 00:13:59 And like, I've had it before where like it's happened with friends. Friends is not sisters, babe. You didn't come up from the same womb. No true. But why does that make a difference? Because it's happened with friends friends is not sisters baby didn't come up from the same womb no true but why does that make a difference because it's a bit gross yeah it is a bit gross like even if it was you and me i know we didn't come out the same way but that would be no no no actually you're right because actually i didn't enjoy it this faded this to me the little witch oh my god how many times we heard this fucking story have you heard this story it's not about
Starting point is 00:14:23 her brother it's not i know fancied it was your boyfriend, then she went out with him and la la la. No, no, no. I've never told this story. Okay. You're thinking about, you're thinking about Pampupa. Oh, I am thinking about Pampupa.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Different boy, face a serial shagger, it seems. Go on. Basically, I slept with this guy, let's call him Barry. And I was like, we shagged after, we were like at a party. We used to have these crazy parties at this village hall.
Starting point is 00:14:51 It was called Stanton Village Hall. It's in the middle, that's buttfuck nowhere. And we would go to Stanton and get so feral. I shagged him in a tent. Faye then went out with him. I did know that. Oh, sorry. I thought that was a new story.
Starting point is 00:15:03 What's his real alias? I don't know. I don't think I've ever said it before. Oh. I wouldn't want to. Even that is weird. Yeah. Were you upset with her? I think I just found it so weird. Oh, sorry. I've had that too. I shagged someone first and then pee-pee actually fully went out with him. Pee-pee needs to
Starting point is 00:15:20 keep it in her pants. She is everywhere, this pee-pee. You can't get rid of her. She's here, there and everywhere. She's like a ghost. But even that, when you actually deep it, like that dick has... When you deep it, it's like actually low-key crazy.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Especially if you know. Like if I knew there's someone that you or like any of my close friends had chagged, you best believe I'm not going anywhere near them. Especially not now. I mean, she is at uni. Also, sorry, I just want to pick up... Oh, yeah, sorry, she is at uni oh so sorry I just want a picture oh yeah sorry
Starting point is 00:15:46 you're at uni I forget well all rules are out the window also when she was like well we go out every week you kind of forget what you do to your body even her saying that
Starting point is 00:15:54 gave me like a little bit of anxiety like god you do fully go out every single week I know like I had a wine on Saturday and I'm a bit like well I can't drink for the rest of the month
Starting point is 00:16:01 because I was so hungover that I thought like I would never live again do month. Because I was so hungover that I thought, like, I would never live again. Do you know what I mean? I do. Yes, I do. Whereas you would be hungover and start drinking again. I thought I was fine.
Starting point is 00:16:12 And then I woke up and I thought, oh dear, I'm absolutely not fine. Can you believe the girls behind Jack's Jones booth was these girls here? They wouldn't let us on looking like this, would they? And they hired us to look sexy. What do you go and do? What do you go and do?
Starting point is 00:16:25 Be like this. Have you seen the girls as well What do you go and do? Be like this. Have you seen the girls as well? If you go and watch the videos, guys, every single person's like, ah, like popping it out
Starting point is 00:16:32 and we're like, like looking like losers. She's got a fucking ring light attached to her skirt. Just gotta get the content. I'm there for the content. Sorry,
Starting point is 00:16:41 that guy's a sicko and you should both never see him again. That's my thoughts on that. Agree. Retweet. Especially if you knew that guy's a sicko and you should both never see him again. That's my thoughts on that. Agree. Retweet. Especially if he knew. That's a kink.

Starting point is 00:18:31 if you want to be part of our group chat, make sure you leave us a voice note using all the details in the episode description. Now, this can be about anything. Obviously, sometimes we ask you for specific topics, but if you've got a story that you think, girls need to hear this then get voice noting matilda too yeah hey g and ali so i just wanted to talk to you about a spooky
Starting point is 00:18:54 story um and it used to happen kind of when i was at uni so i mean i'm nearly 29 so we're talking I don't know 2017 give or take and I used to kind of see things in my sleep or like I'd just woken up and obviously my eyes were working quicker than my brain and I don't know it sounds a bit crazy but hear me out and I used to wake up and I would used to see spiders they would kind of fall from the ceiling and they I would see them on the floor so I would kind of run turn a light on and obviously nothing was there I'd search high and low for these spiders convinced they were there and they weren't so it just used to freak me out and like I said I think it was kind of my brain working quicker than my eyes or something like that and then one time I remember I was in bed and I woke up and leaning over me was this lady. She was a black lady.
Starting point is 00:19:53 She was smiling. She was dressed in what I can only describe as like an old school nurse's kind of get up. I think it was a nurse's or like a maid like a black dress with like white frills and she was stood by my bed and she was leaning over me and she was smiling and i remember getting i was like what the hell is this i shot up i literally ran for the light and there was nothing there but i was so convinced that someone was stood by my bed that there had been like an emergency at uni and the security had let themselves into our dorms. And they
Starting point is 00:20:33 would they were like evacuating us. And it literally freaked me out for weeks. Like I wouldn't I'd sleep with the light on. Fast forward a couple of years I was at work and someone I worked with was a clairvoyant whether you believe all that or not is you know it's kind of doesn't really matter but they were like have you ever done any research about whether you know where you went to halls or where you went to uni sorry it was like you know anywhere weird and the site where uni was wasn't like itself wasn't like a hospital or anything like that but nearby was and it literally it freaked me out for years and to this day like just think i haven't thought about this for ages um and now it's like to freak me out but uh yeah that's my spooky story for
Starting point is 00:21:19 halloween thank you babe thank you oh thank you for coming to work today because everyone else failed on all accounts to give us a spooky story and you've delivered you're the star of the week you're the star of the month babe congratulations for
Starting point is 00:21:33 following the brief amen I'm low key jealous I am yeah I wouldn't like to see like a scary one no I would have
Starting point is 00:21:41 when I say shit myself I mean I would have pissed myself 100% shit the bed. If I woke up and there was a woman on top of me and then I turned on the light and she was gone, that's it, that's me, done for life, I'm out.
Starting point is 00:21:54 I'm retiring early. I'm never leaving the house again. You'd want to leave the house, babe. The house is where she's trapped. I'd move house. I'd move house. I always, oh my God, I always say this. If you go into a house or like you move house and
Starting point is 00:22:07 there's just like sometimes their souls get stuck there yeah spooky feeling you have to move you have to get out you gotta get out out out i know loads of people that have lived in haunted houses me too gotta get out of that thing it's not a safe place to be and sometimes they're like oh my god my mum has two friends actually my mum's, probably because they live in like big old houses. Yeah. One of her friends, she's old. Like she's like in her 60s. Sorry, old.
Starting point is 00:22:32 I don't mean old. I mean, she's in her 60s. Not that old. And they live in this big house and downstairs, like it is a fully haunted house. Like everyone knows it. And there is like, it's kind of the same thing, like a mistress or whatever.
Starting point is 00:22:44 She died there. She's like a scary, scary lady. And like it's kind of the same thing like a like a mistress or whatever she died there she's like a scary scary lady and like in the middle of the night this woman my mom's friend she can't sleep she only gets like four hours a night so like but she cannot go downstairs the number of times she's seen that woman in her kitchen shut the sorry no and so like now babe they built a kitchen upstairs so she could make a cup of tea in the middle of the night because the number of times she's gone down and the woman, she's seen the ghost in her kitchen and the woman's like, she's terrifying.
Starting point is 00:23:09 They built a kitchen upstairs. Fucking move. Move on. Yeah. Why would you ever stay there? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. It's so scary.
Starting point is 00:23:18 I really do believe in all of it. I believe in clairvoyance. Me too, all of it. I believe in paranormal activity and I know people don't. And you were even saying, babe, trick of the eye, trick of the eye. No, no Me too, all of it. I believe in paranormal activity. And I know people don't. And you were even saying, babe, trick of the eye, trick of the eye. No, no, no. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Don't let them convince you that's a trick of the eye. Spiders are coming for you in your sleep. This is silly. And I know that the girl, Matilda, too. Matilda, too. Said that she saw spiders. But you never really hear people talk about dead animals
Starting point is 00:23:46 oh sorry good point I was gonna say spiders mean something sorry could you get on Google please apparently spiders if you think
Starting point is 00:23:53 if you have a hallucination spiders means about money spiders spiders and teeth apparently those are the two if you dream about all your teeth falling out means you're worried about money
Starting point is 00:24:00 apparently I don't know if that's facts there is something in like the dream coming into like reality like maybe that's a different like you know if you're dreaming about spiders and you wake up and you see them but i think seeing the actual like figures like sorry that's oh yeah yeah that is wild but also that woman probably fully died in that in that whatever it was yeah surely I mean I think this
Starting point is 00:24:25 all the time there's so many things in this world that like feel unexplainable to me and I'm sure they all probably have like scientific explanations
Starting point is 00:24:32 blah blah blah but I just think even the fact that we're all like sat here living and breathing I do think they do have scientific explanations it seems to me
Starting point is 00:24:38 that ghosts must exist it's like there are too many coincidences there are too many spooky there are too many of them for it to be just like coincidence.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Yeah. It's not coincidence. Go on. Sorry, I did Google the spiders. We're getting a lot of mixed signals here. Oh dear, the clairvoyants aren't being clear, are they? Someone said balance, creativity, curiosity, personal growth, self-awareness.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Oh wow. And someone else said if you see a spider in the morning, it means you're leading to a mourning. Like a mourning, like a grievance yes oh dear it's a mix of a mix of things wow have you ever been to a psychic i've had tarot readings but i've never i'd love to go to a proper proper psychic i went to a psychic that man yeah i really enjoyed him actually the guy that said that spirit communicates in lots of ways yeah the guy that said that I he just knew a lot about my grandmother
Starting point is 00:25:27 my nan like he told me things that like I'd love to do that he I just this is why I always think and I know everyone's like
Starting point is 00:25:34 oh like here you know la la la but like I like he couldn't have known the stuff oh yeah like how would he know
Starting point is 00:25:41 that she had a spiral staircase in her house like that literally blew my mind and from there I was hook, line and sinker i was like take my money and tell me everything because like how do you know that but also i don't care to explain to other people why you believe in it i just think i do and if you don't that's fine but i'm not going to sit here and defend my beliefs although he did say i wasn't going to get married till i was 40 and that makes me feel kind of funny so maybe i don't believe believe everything he says. Oh, I don't know. Yeah, maybe he got that wrong.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Maybe he did. Maybe he meant 30 or something. Maybe he actually meant not 40. He got a digit wrong. Yeah. Maybe by 40 he meant 28. That's wacko though. I'm not wacko, that's like creepy.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Yeah, babe, I'm sorry that you had to dig that up trauma-wise for us, but I'm really grateful for it because like genuinely my overriding feeling towards you right now is jealousy. Like I just think there's only so many things to experience in this great life. I agree.
Starting point is 00:26:31 One is like pushing a baby out of your vagina. I think that's an amazing thing to be able to experience. Number two, seeing dead people. What an amazing thing to experience. And skydiving. I'm not wishing death on any of our parents, obviously touch with that they live to 100, but like I reckon, I reckon when they death on any of our parents. Obviously, touch wood that they live to 100
Starting point is 00:26:45 but like I reckon when they die, one of us might get a trip with one of our dead parents. My dad feels like the kind of guy that would come back and hang around.
Starting point is 00:26:54 Oh, and he'd like play pranks and stuff. Yeah, he's so cheeky like that. I feel like... Oh my God, he hasn't got the cancer by the way. Oh, yes!
Starting point is 00:27:00 I know! Thrilled. Oh, well, thank God. Yeah, thrilled for him. He had a biopsy on his mouth, guys. Oh, and everyone was so worried. And he was so worried.
Starting point is 00:27:08 And he was like so serious, la, la, la. And they sent him a text being like, no, cancer was detected. Epic. Epic. So what's wrong with him then? He's just an alcoholic. Jokes, Dad.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I don't know. She's not really joking. I think it's just like scar tissue from the... He had throat cancer. And I think it's scar tissue from the... He had throat cancer, and I think it's scar tissue from the post-operation. It's gone a bit funky. Congrats to your dad. Yeah, congrats.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Congrats, Martin. You will be haunting us anytime soon. Sorry about it. And I know you're desperate to die, but you probably will make it to 100. You've got to stay around another Christmas, honey. Ha ha, Louie's out. Come over.
Starting point is 00:27:43 We're told to number three. Hey, Gallys. So you asked for stories about crazy flatmates and I definitely have one. When we were looking for flats on houses and stuff, it basically worked out that we had three people who knew each other well and then two people who also knew each other well,
Starting point is 00:28:05 and we just kind of merged. So I didn't know this person when I agreed to live with this person. There were a few things that were a bit odd with this person. One of the biggest issues was that we all had things that started going missing. I had a Pandora ring. My housemates had other things that went missing, but were all very random things, say like a hairbrush or a scarf. And we didn't really think anything of it. Like I just thought I was really clumsy and had lost it until my friend tracks her sleep and went back
Starting point is 00:28:41 and like listened to her recordings one morning. And you could clearly hear somebody come into her room. So we basically decided that it must have been somebody in the house that had come in to take something. So while she was out, we decided that we were going to just pop into her room and see if we could find anything. Which she had a whole box of our stuff. I found my ring on her lovely little ring stand, my flatmate's hairbrush. It was all in there. So she's been going into our
Starting point is 00:29:16 rooms, taking these things, not even always when we're out of the house. Like sometimes she would go in, obviously when we were asleep. And I just thought that was really fucking weird we actually never confronted her about it we just took our stuff back and went on with our lives because as I said we had a hole in our wall from where she punched it the first time so we all just kind of went on with our lives but looking back now it was really weird love the podcast bye sorry that does sound like the start of a scary movie in a way
Starting point is 00:29:49 like the girl that moves in and just like creeps into your room at night and steals your things like what's she gonna do with them like put them in a cauldron and like make a spell
Starting point is 00:29:57 I was gonna say that doesn't it feel like that a bit voodoo-y voodoo she's a witch I've had this no you haven't on my life.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Tell me everything. Okay. First of all, this is... Ali Max lived 55 lives. I always think that. She always says these things and I think, when the fuck were you living with that person?
Starting point is 00:30:13 But it does all add up. I do fact check it. Don't worry, guys. Okay, the first one, this is not my story, but this happened at my school. It's basically exactly the same. Obviously, as well,
Starting point is 00:30:23 when you're in a boarding house, it's so easy your stuff is everywhere and there are 50 girls 60 girls and is it just like you get a weird kick they get a weird kick
Starting point is 00:30:31 out of like stealing it's kleptomania yeah what's it called kleptomania it's like it's actually I think it's a disorder
Starting point is 00:30:36 it's almost like having like we have to take things from others yeah it's stealing you'll have a compulsive stealing disorder shit
Starting point is 00:30:41 yeah yeah yeah and it's also like the hoarding aspect I think right anyway in my boarding house this is not the story this is not my main story my sub story a compulsive stealing disorder. Shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's also like the hoarding aspect, I think. Right. Anyway, in my hoarding house, this is not the story. This is not my main story,
Starting point is 00:30:48 my sub-story. This is a warm-up. She's getting us warm. This was not even in my house, but there was a girl coming in. They're looking small, by the way. Guys, I actually got measured today and I actually don't trust
Starting point is 00:31:00 the woman in M&S. As you say. Because I basically had a, I like a broader backed bra. Sorry, we're getting back to the ghost. And she said I needed a larger cup than a B, but I was hardly filling that.
Starting point is 00:31:12 She thinks I need to go up to a C. I didn't need a C. It's 36C. There's no way. No way. No way. Oh, she's got to get her eyes checked.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Well, then I just thought, oh, sod it, I'm not wearing one. She said apparently the wire was sitting on my breast tissue and that's really bad for your breasts. That is really bad for your breasts.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Well, then I can't wear a 36B, so what am I going to do? Never wear a bra again. Why can't you wear a 36C? Because it was sitting on my... Because I can't fill a B. What am I going to do with a C? Rattle around in there. Before to go back and try a different style.
Starting point is 00:31:36 38A maybe or something. It's not adding up, is it? No, carry on. Right, so there was this girl a couple of years above me. Everyone's stuff just... Kind of the same thing. Everyone's stuff just sort of started to go missing. But then it was small stuff, like, I don't know, like,
Starting point is 00:31:49 stationary, a lot of, like, rulers and stuff. And then, like, it became, like, people's, like, air looms. Not air looms, like, you know, like, their grandma gave them a ring that they would wear and they would take off for a shower and then they would come back from their shower and it would be gone. Anyway, then they found this girl's, like, whole wardrobe full.
Starting point is 00:32:04 There was, like, two pairs of airpods in there like trainer like really a lot of stuff in there anyway that was my introduction but she wasn't like wearing it or using it
Starting point is 00:32:14 no no no it was all yeah in third year of uni I because basically the girls I lived with in second year
Starting point is 00:32:21 fucked me over and they signed a house without me because you were the left one out, weren't you, babe? Yeah. Everyone thinks
Starting point is 00:32:26 I was like the cool girl, guys, she was bullied at uni. It's kind of like part of her identity now. It's like made her who she is. She's actually like really humble
Starting point is 00:32:34 because she was bullied at Bristol by these witches, okay? Correct. And if I saw them now, I'd kill my body, I would fuck them up. I would fuck them up
Starting point is 00:32:41 and I'd say, do you think you're cool? So I had to live with this girl who, these three, two boys and a girl, and they were all in their fourth year. They were doing... So they'd done a placement and come back? So they were doing like languages or something.
Starting point is 00:32:58 Oh, they'd done a year abroad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the girl in the year... So it was two boys and a girl and the girl was actually a girl in the year above me from school. Ooh. So, but like, we kind of knew each other.
Starting point is 00:33:09 I don't really know how, but we just knew each other. Anyway, we lived together, the four of us, and like, all year, basically, and we had like split levels, so the boys were downstairs with the kitchen, and then it was me and her in a bathroom on the top floor,
Starting point is 00:33:19 and it was tiny, and all year, stuff had gone missing, but like, shit, that I just wouldn't even, like, you'd just be like oh where's my X-top like leggings yeah like nothing
Starting point is 00:33:28 shit I could I lose stuff all the time all the time yeah or like then it got to also sometimes when you live with people
Starting point is 00:33:33 it does happen by accident yeah oh my god I will often have a pair of holes leggings in my like wardrobe do you know what I mean 100% so I accidentally
Starting point is 00:33:40 picked up the wrong one from the washing rack there was one I remember there was one coat of my mum's that I'd bought for the winter term. And then when I'd gone to get it to bring home for Christmas, I just couldn't find it.
Starting point is 00:33:49 And I thought, oh, I just put it somewhere. Yeah. Like stuff that I honestly didn't even think of. And then there was one day then when I started discovering that like it was my knickers. And like we had these... Clean ones, I hope. Clean ones.
Starting point is 00:34:02 But she would use them and then put them in her laundry pile. And then like, I would never see them again. And I only noticed it because we shared a bathroom and we had two separate laundry bins. And for some reason,
Starting point is 00:34:11 the lid on her bin was just off that day. And then I saw all my knickers in there and I thought, that is weird. Then there were like, some of Raw's jumpers, he would come to Bristol
Starting point is 00:34:20 and would leave his shit and she would like take, like, they would just disappear. And then would she wear them? babe on my last ever day the day I moved out of my
Starting point is 00:34:28 oh no she would never wear them oh no oh she would wear them and I'd be like are those mine? and she'd be like no oh that's bad vibes and I know they're mine
Starting point is 00:34:36 they are you little witch take them off yeah you'd have to start doing what we do at primary school and put your name in the back then on my last day that I
Starting point is 00:34:44 like just before I moved, I couldn't fucking get out of there quick enough. I, packing up my room, whatever, and I just, we had these like little, like kind of what you had in your old room, those like slanted annexes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we each had one.
Starting point is 00:34:58 And I, she wasn't in and I, like her room was empty, but I was like, I'll just go and triple check that she hasn't got any of my clothes. I opened this annex. I found this suitcase suitcase it was fucking full to the brim of all of the stuff i'd lost that year i'm not joking maybe she was gonna burn it all or something i didn't take it i left it there but i opened it so that she would have known that i knew that i knew i all that coat
Starting point is 00:35:19 sorry that is creepy.com that's not right what are you gonna do with that stuff i never said a thing i never said a thing i I never said a thing. Was it even nice shit she was saying? Because don't get me wrong, when I lend earrings from you, I'm tempted to keep them forever and more. But like, does she like, was it nice? But I would let you because I know that you have them.
Starting point is 00:35:33 No, I know, I know. But like, was it nice stuff? No, it was like, we're all like shit, like jumpers or like... Maybe she fancied raw, maybe that's the whole thing. Or like my mum's coat or like a lot of my gym kit. Like it was really like, it wasn't like expensive stuff. It was just a lot.
Starting point is 00:35:48 There was a lot. It was a full suitcase. Like there's a difference between like accidentally keeping that really nice top your friend let you borrow. And there's another thing like collecting people's things. So she must have been in your room. Oh, our rooms were like here to there. I don't like it at all. Can we bring back confrontation?
Starting point is 00:36:06 I know. I know why I didn't use anything. Because what would I have said? You're a psycho. No, you'd have said, babe, you've been stealing my shit. Yeah, you're right. I should have said something.
Starting point is 00:36:15 But I almost thought it was more of like, she would get more of a trip out of knowing that I knew. Do you think? I think sometimes people just need to be told. You're right. I agree. I agree. Even just for the drama like for the plot
Starting point is 00:36:27 like imagine if you'd have like stood there with the suit and been like that's my stuff and she'd been like I know I've been planning a way to bring you down
Starting point is 00:36:33 to the fucking ground and then you could have had a big like fine it would have been brilliant yeah next time you must say should we bring her now what's her name
Starting point is 00:36:40 and my parents always bring it up when they talk about how they're like that girl that stole your thing yes always I will never there was also bring it up when they talk about her. That girl that stole your thing. Yeah. Always.
Starting point is 00:36:46 I will never forget. There was also so many, like when I think about it, there was so many occasions where like I blamed my mum because I was like, I put that in there and my mum was like, I did a movie.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then all of that stuff was in there. It was so weird, the whole thing. Guys, maybe I don't lose things. Maybe I've got someone stealing my bits. Maybe. My bits and bobs.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Maybe. Maybe it's a stalker. It must be my stalker. Maybe it's me. She's so cheeky. Maybe I've got someone stealing my bits. Maybe. My bits and bobs. Maybe. Maybe it's a stalker. It must be my stalker. Maybe it's me. He's so cheeky. Maybe it's you. Okay, Matilda number one. You shagged your sister's shagger.
Starting point is 00:37:19 Your shagger. Nothing to say really, to be honest with you. Other than that is actually like... Get an STI test. Yeah, and once you can get over the weirdness of it, it is quite a good story, babe. shagger nothing to say really to be honest with you just other than that is actually like an sti test yeah and once you can get over the weirdness of it is quite a good story babe like i know you have to go through something a bit dark but that is like agree you know it's a it's a gag for the wedding definitely exactly and like you know you never see him again he was a bit of a creep but actually you and your sister shared a lover and it's kind of funny and you can go to the clinic
Starting point is 00:37:43 together who likes going alone do you know what I mean no no one likes going alone um Matilda number two doing God's work the only scary submission we've had yeah we're really grateful
Starting point is 00:37:52 for you actually babe because without that we wouldn't have been able to get very paranormal star of the week star of the week and you do have a special skill and don't feel scared by that
Starting point is 00:38:00 they just want you to see them for some reason you must have something special about you oh it's a bit spooky so scary no no no I'm trying to be
Starting point is 00:38:08 Billy Buggers but I can't even watch a scary film I hate scary films I hate sometimes I like them I hate them I'm trying to think
Starting point is 00:38:16 of one that I really like Rihanna I can imagine you like a scary film I actually don't I only like watching them with boys cuddle me I'm so scared
Starting point is 00:38:23 toxic girl she's so toxic you're one of the most toxic person I've ever met she's like do you know we're safe sat on your face I only like watching them with boys. Cuddle me, I'm so scared. Toxic girl. She's so toxic. She's so toxic. You're one of the most toxic person I've ever met. She's like, do you know where safe? Sat on your face. That's brilliant. That's genius.
Starting point is 00:38:33 What a line. I didn't have one scary film that I like. Not a single, but like, Oh, I loved Parasite. I know that's not real, that's more like a thriller. Scary-ish. It's not ghosty.
Starting point is 00:38:44 No, it's not ghosty. I used to actually quite rinse myself with Insidious. I once watched the movie. When that thing came up on the wall, like, oh my God. No, what's the one where she's in the shower and then the one sleeping with the enemy, is it called?
Starting point is 00:38:57 Where she... Oh, this film, but the fear of God in me. She's running away. It's actually not a ghost film. She's running away from her controlling husband and she's in the cabin in the fear of God in me. She's running away. It's actually not a ghost film. She's running away from her like controlling husband and she's in the cabin
Starting point is 00:39:07 in the middle of the woods and she gets out the shower. Do you know the one? I feel like I've watched that. She gets out the shower and all the cupboards are organised and so she knows he's in the house but she doesn't know where
Starting point is 00:39:17 and I can't remember the end of it but she opens the cupboards and like she realises that she's in the fucking house with her killer. It's so fucking... And does he kill her? I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Oh my God. I stopped watching. I really can't watch that kind of stuff. No, and I'm really bad with jumpy. I will jump out my skin. I will jump. And number three, kleptomania, punch the wall, babe. You must say something.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Yeah, sorry. I didn't even remember what happened. Did they all just live together and never said anything Rohana's right bring back confrontation yeah sorry she's right and that's coming from
Starting point is 00:39:49 Miss Unconfrontation herself yeah I love confrontation I don't know what you're talking about I'd just be like have my things I'd leave them out for her because I'd be like
Starting point is 00:39:58 I don't want to say anything ever again sorry have my rings my Pandora rings my dead man's ring have it but yeah you must say something have we got time for question of the week we sure do it's a good one Sorry, have my rings, my Pandora rings. My dead man's ring, have it.
Starting point is 00:40:06 But yeah, you must say something. Have we got time for question of the week? We sure do. It's a good one. Do you believe in ghosts? Yes. Yes or no, what do you think the galley said though? What do you think the split is?
Starting point is 00:40:20 30 no. No, I'd say majority yes. Majority is no. And majority is yes. 50, 50. Oh, really? On the nose, yeah. How crazy. 30 no I'd say majority majority is no and majority is yes 50 50 oh really on the nose yeah how crazy
Starting point is 00:40:29 do you believe in ghosts Rihanna I try not to because because I want to sleep at night yeah literally I think you can invite them into your life and I don't want to do that
Starting point is 00:40:39 well it's interesting because ghosts I think that I read a very good book called so there's one that's called signs from the universe and there's one that's called the light between us or something
Starting point is 00:40:51 and it's basically by like this mega mega famous clairvoyant like she's like the most famous clairvoyant in the whole world and about how you can communicate with other sides and like i think that like spirits are different to ghosts and that ghosts like i do think that ghosts like have unfinished business different to ghosts. And that ghosts, like, I do think that ghosts, like, have unfinished business. Because I do think that most people die in, like, just their spirit lives. And it's just, like, kind of like when your dead nan leaves you, like, a butterfly or whatever.
Starting point is 00:41:14 That's, like, a spirit. But a ghost is someone that, like, their soul got a bit trapped along the way or something. I don't know. They've got some beef. They've got some beef. Because why are they still lingering around on Earth, like, invisible side?
Starting point is 00:41:25 I just love to know what makes certain people able to see these things and certain people not. You just have what you don't. Oh, you don't have it and I want it. You can't ever have it alone.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Oh shit, you know what? If I wake up in the middle of the night and there's a woman above my bed, I will actually cease to exist. That's like the tarot readers when they're like, oh, they're just saying. Don't ask for something
Starting point is 00:41:41 you don't want to receive. Actually, I changed my mind. No, you definitely don't want to see it on a Tuesday night, babe. Oh, no, I'm actually, I can't. I'm home alone tonight as well. I might have to come and stay at yours. Oh, dear.
Starting point is 00:41:49 I'm too scared. I have this all day. I am a scaredy cat, actually. I have it all day. Babe, when Rue was away that weekend, I fully have to lock myself in my room and then even the noises, like, they freak me the fuck out. No, if I'm at home at my parents' house,
Starting point is 00:42:02 because it used to be like an old barn, you best not. You best believe that I am literally locking myself in my room and, because it used to be like an old barn, you best not. You best believe that I am literally locking myself in my room and putting my earplugs in. Even that's not even safe, because the ghost could get you in your room. Ghosts can walk through walls. Shit.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Shit. What's your most irrational fear? Sorry, Rihanna, we'll wrap up in a second. Drowning. That is irrational, because you're rarely near a big body of water. And burglars burglars I was going to say
Starting point is 00:42:28 because actually maybe I'm not afraid of ghosts so much I'm afraid of just like intruders me too and like this like big man with like
Starting point is 00:42:34 a black sack like taping me up and like that sounds like a fetish to me no like what happened to Kim Kardashian
Starting point is 00:42:40 that's my biggest that's my most irrational do you think that was real yes 100% I think they'd send you back home my parents used to say that to me Kim Kardashian, that's my biggest, that's my most irrational. Do you think that was real? Yes. Ugh, 100%. I think they'd send you back home. My parents used to say that to me all the time. When I was worried about being abducted,
Starting point is 00:42:51 they'd be like, they would not keep you for long. What a horrible thing to say. Why? Because you're so fucking annoying. Yeah, I think that was probably the premise of it. I never stopped to ask. I was just offended and then moved on. You're of no value to them.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Kim Kardashian has value. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't have a rock on my finger like that definitely she was definitely definitely real definitely real why would that
Starting point is 00:43:10 if they did stage that that's fucked in the brain yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah worse things have happened thank you all so much for listening sorry that we're so
Starting point is 00:43:17 scary to look at sorry that our costume kind of fell apart but next year we're going to do full yeah next year because some special effects may come up
