Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, you've reached Leave a Message with me, Ali. And me, G. This is a podcast where we help the galleys in need. Whether your date gets roped into voice noting the podcast mid-date. Or you're about to sign a tenancy agreement with your ex. This is the podcast for you. Hello, everyone. Hello.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Hello. I was listening to the rest of the entertainment this morning. Yeah. And I always find it really funny how they say hello to each other. Because I think, you know, having done a podcast for a while now, We've already said hello. What do they say? They say hello.
Starting point is 00:00:37 But I'm like... Oh, I see... Yeah, it's all fake to you today. Oh, it's all fake BS, guys. We said hello to you, I've said hello to Izzy, like to sit down and say hello. Same on the Graham Norton show, guys. They've all said hello backstage and they're like, oh my God, it's so... They're actors.
Starting point is 00:00:51 That's literally their job. Andrew Garfield's hair. Should we talk about that? Oh, my God. What's the Lord? Is it for a role? I sincerely hope so. It must be.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I don't know. He likes that. Well, he goes to those hippie retreats. Did I tell you about this? My close personal friend, Andrew Garsfield, told me. How do you know this? I actually genuinely don't know. And this is a problem for me.
Starting point is 00:01:13 The source of my knowledge is often alien to me. I'm not fussy on the whereabouts of where I gathered that information. He, after filming, what's it called the film with Florence Pugh? We live in time. We live in time. He booked a retreat after that and he goes away for these like digital detoxies. juicy, yogoury, tantric things. Allegedly.
Starting point is 00:01:40 What? Because he felt so... Wind down. Allegedly. Because, you know, the role is so tap- Well, I think actually there probably are quite a lot. So I think Harry Stiles does that. I'm sure Harry Stiles does that. Maybe I'm actually thinking about Harry Stiles.
Starting point is 00:01:51 No, I'm thinking about Andrew Garfield. I think... Oh, I know why I know this. I think it was either Graham Norton or something like that. Do you remember when that picture went viral of him and Florence Pugh on the merry-go-round with the horse? and the horse had a really like deranged stuff. Do you remember?
Starting point is 00:02:06 And he was basically saying in this interview, I never saw it. Because I was in a trip. I was in my retreat time. I was weeks away. Do you know what? The one time I probably wouldn't go on a retreat is when I'm going viral.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Because like I want to know that stuff. He didn't know. He'd already gone. And also he wasn't going viral. The horse was. I know, but if I was in a viral photo, you best believe that would be plastered all over my Instagram stories. Yeah, you would want people to know.
Starting point is 00:02:31 That was deranged that horse, actually. It was. And they all said no one noticed that the horse looked that way. Like they just put up that poster and they were like, perfect. Like the two of them looked so happy and in love. No one noticed the horse. I always think this though about like ad campaigns. How many people sign that off?
Starting point is 00:02:46 Like how many people did that go through and no one picked up on that? And you get it wrong. I can think of one very good example that I won't mention now. Do you know what I think of many? Yeah. Actually, famously Kim Kardashian. Well, many. There's been many, many, many, many, faux pals.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Yeah. And I just think, gosh, I think it's one of those things that no one really just wants to say. I think it might be one of the cases where it's like, oh, someone else will pick that up. I don't want to put my head above the power of the air. Exactly. Like, I'm not going to be the one to say. Yeah. Had that this morning in Pilates.
Starting point is 00:03:16 We hadn't done. What you wanted to rise up and take a stance? Because we hadn't done the split squat on the second side. I didn't want to say. Someone's calling me. Why is someone always calling you at this time on a Thursday? I actually don't know O2O. It's freaking me out.
Starting point is 00:03:30 I'm getting a lot of O2O calls. They've got my number. Because you're buying a house. Estate agents are obsessed with you. No, no, they are. And they've got to get a life. If you want to feel like wanted, needed desired, you just need to say I'm looking to buy a house.
Starting point is 00:03:42 It is, no, babe, yesterday, this guy, sorry, this is a side pet track, but this guy who I don't know. And a estate agent or around him guy. But I literally just like sent a request on right move. He calls me, he goes, let me roll out the red carpet for you. Can I steal you for an hour, show you around the area? And I was like, I live here. I don't need to be sure.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Show me around. I don't want to date you. No. Have you got a profile pick on right move? Obvious. Yes, I do. Maybe he fancied you. That's a good point.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I need to take that off. I think you should take that off if you don't want to. Maybe I should change mine. I said my fiancé and I. Yeah, nice. And then he was like, yeah, let me roll out the right. Can I pinch you for an hour? You can't pinch me.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Who? You can't pinch me. Who has an hour to give to an estate agent? That is honestly what I'd like to know. Unless you're going to show me 10 houses in that hour. No, he didn't want to show me houses. He wanted to show me the area at the farmer's market. And I was like, I literally.
Starting point is 00:04:31 live here. In Ballam? Yeah. How confusing. I know. That's crazy. Estate agents are crazy. Sorry. What were you going to say? Second side, Bulgarian Spit Squat. I hate that shit. I thought she's forgotten. I'm not going to say. I don't mind being wonky.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Genuinely, I don't. Because it was hell and horror. Some other snitch at the back goes, Bulgarian Spliters Squat. Second side. Was she annoyed? Amy, no. Because she's like, oh God, course. To be fair, I actually do get annoyed when they forget that. Really? Yeah, because I think. Did you think you have one job?
Starting point is 00:05:03 Yeah. One job. This is literally your one job to remember your class. I have a lot of sympathy as an ex fitness instructor. It's very easy to forget. No, no, obviously. You're doing a million other things in your head while that cast is going on, honestly. That you shouldn't be doing.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Yeah, I literally, in spin, I used to honestly just like, plan my day, like, think about all the things I need to do, plan my outfits for the next day. And then I just forget, we were like climbing a hill and everyone was like... Dying. In dire straits, exactly. Yeah. Guys, last night I went for a date night with Olivia, we went to watch Sky Newman at the Apple Music Hall. Is it wild? Guys, it is crazy.
Starting point is 00:05:41 So you walk him, if you've ever been to Battersea Power Station, it's at the back, like Riverside. Yeah. When I say this place is overstaffed, I've never seen anything like it. You were passed within a centimetre of greeting someone dressed very sleekly in black wearing an Apple Watch to a second person, sleekly dressed in black, Hi, how are you having a good evening? I probably answered, hi, how are you? Maybe 12 times by the end I thought, actually, I'm not very good. But actually, can I actually tell you how I'm feeling?
Starting point is 00:06:07 Not very well, actually. You even get escorted into the lift and taken up. Is that just because of you or you? No, I went in the normal entrance. I went in the normal people's entrance. Like a normie. I did. No, it wasn't just because everyone gets escorted.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Everyone just gets passed from person to person to person. Then you go up the lift. So weird. And it's like this kind of like, like, it feels like a theatre, actually. It feels like the national, for example. Sorry, is it with a view? Can you see it out onto the river? No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Okay. Because it's, the actual venue is like, um... I think it is going to look like my like school music hall, basically. Oh, but sexier. It's sexy. It's really sexy. Oh, yeah. It's all wood, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:06:52 It's a bit wooden. Yeah. Yeah. But it's also like there's like arch lights. Okay. A very sexy stage. It's standing and then it's seated at the back. I did ask if they were ever going to do podcasts.
Starting point is 00:07:05 They are. Good to know. What's the cap? Well, it's 600 cap, but 300 seated. Do with that what you will. If you want to stand, you can get a ticket for a fiver. It's very intimate as settings go. Got it.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Anyway, the biggest news was that I went to the bar thinking nothing of it, said hi to B. B Thomas, she's amazing. She does their PR. We were like chatting, chatting, chatting. and I just say to the barman, have a pint, please. I just fancied a pills. Oh no, it was like 15 quid. No.
Starting point is 00:07:37 No. That's a whole other sidetrack. It was very, very reasonable. Okay. He said, have you got your ID? I literally was like... Oh, he took pity on you. I was like, no, no.
Starting point is 00:07:52 I laugh. I was genuinely like, no. Why would I have that? And I was like, I've got a picture of it and he was like, Sorry, I can't accept that. I was like, challenge 25, you're having me on, gets his manager over. You're joking. Because I'm like, babe, I hate to say it, but I'm 30 like next week. And she was like, sorry, if he wants to ID you, then you can't be served.
Starting point is 00:08:16 I have to have a Coke zero. That is, oh my God. But it was so funny because then Olivia and I like walked off and I was like, because then she was like, now I feel a bit weird having a wine. And I was like, sis, I'm gagging for one. I do want a drink. She was like, shall I go back over and buy you a drink?
Starting point is 00:08:31 So she finished her wine and then she went back to the bar. Olivia, bearing in mind is 25, didn't get ID'd, had to then buy us both a drink. That is, no. I was kind of gasped, but I was always like,
Starting point is 00:08:43 that's ridiculous. That's ridiculous. I actually, that is genuinely flawed me. I know. Because sometimes I think they do it for a gag and they're like, oh, I'll be kind. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I think you genuinely thought I was young. I don't know what to tell you guys. I feel like they ask that when they're trying to not get in trouble. Like, what like service is going in to check if Apple Music Hall are checking ID? You know what I mean? Yeah, I do. Also, have you heard about the fact that the government are going to roll out digital IDs, but it's going to be discretionary to the venue?
Starting point is 00:09:14 So you will have a digital ID on your phone, which is more like, I guess, like a QR code, like it's in your Apple wallet. Yeah. And if the venue allows it, then you can just use that as your ID, which I think is genius. I genuinely. That is unbelievable. Bloody hell, babe, don't be too shocked.
Starting point is 00:09:31 To not get served. Sorry, lots of love to you. I'm extremely useful. Your shock is now offending me. No, come on. That is shocking. Well, I laughed and I said, ha-ha, I'm 30. Please, please.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Can I have a beer? Do you know what? I'm not even trying to have hard spirits. They don't do spirits there. Well, then I... Why? Yeah, and softs. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:53 I don't know the law. Anyway, it was amazing and Sky Newman was amazing. So that was great. Maybe it's because she was young. That's quite, she's giving young audience. Yeah, she was actually an older crowd. I always think that when you go to concerts. The crowds are never who you expect them to be.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Yeah. She had like her like girls at the front and then it was actually really sweet. She had her like her friendship group like in a booth at the back and they were like having, when I say the time of their lives, like the time of their lives, saving every single lyric. Like filming themselves like filming her. Like they were just loving it so much. It was so sweet. Wow. Al can't get over the fact that I look.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I'm the 25. If you said 20, if you said... It's challenged 25, so that's what he must have thought. I know, but I've never been in that situation. I mean, clearly I don't know. I don't know. But they actually will not serve you. No.
Starting point is 00:10:41 It's like, I've got a picture. He was like, no. I've had it in M&S before. He's new. He's got to be new. Well, they're new. It's new. Yeah, so he's being a good friend.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Everyone's new. Everyone's new. Apple Music Hall. It's so new. So, yeah. Can you eat there? No, I don't think. Oh, there were snacks. Good snacks, actually, good snack selection.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Wow. But obviously, it's right near the Batterty Food Court. Yeah, no, of course, yeah. So don't worry. Oh, it's up there. Yeah. Got it. Guys, great night out is all I'm going to say.
Starting point is 00:11:04 And keep your eyes peeled, because Charlie X, X is going to be there. No, no. And I've heard rumors about Miley Cyrus. Shut up. And I did say it to be, I said, exclusive. I said, I've heard about Miley Cyrus. She didn't say anything. That doesn't mean, that means not no.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Well, that doesn't mean no. It doesn't mean, yeah. Right. It doesn't mean either. It means no comment. Possibility. No comment. No comment.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Wow. Yeah. Is it quite easy to get a ticket? How do you get it? It's like the Hunger Games. No, no. I think actually that was just Elton John potentially because... Really?
Starting point is 00:11:36 Yes. I think Miley Cyrus might have the same effect as well Charlie XX. True. I think it... They go on sale on the day. No, because Troy Savan didn't. Oh. That might just have been Elton.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah. Troy Savan, I think they're actually already... Because I got the notification. Very good for date night, actually, because it's quite a sexy venue. and the seats are actually really nice. They're so comfy the seats. Right. Do you want to talk about tickets?
Starting point is 00:12:00 Yeah. Have you got glass-o tickets? No. Did you try? Right, in my defence, I got very drunk the night before. So with someone I shouldn't have and woke up at 10 am, I went fuck. No! Yeah, I was like, no!
Starting point is 00:12:12 Yeah. We had quite a big argument with the guy being like, you joking. I bet. Were you in a group? Did they all hate you? Because you hadn't tried? No, I wasn't. If I was going to ride solo, I felt like in my head that was a good decision.
Starting point is 00:12:24 But just buying a ticket for yourself? Yeah. Wait, is that a joke? No, because I'm sick to death of this stupid air, spreadsheet business, join a syndicke, I'm not a part of it. I just like, let's just get, I'm fighting for myself. Every man for themselves. What would you have done if you'd have got through,
Starting point is 00:12:40 just bought yourself a ticket and no one else? Well, I was on another planet, clearly at that time. If you had gone through, you should have bought us one. Was he trying? No. Clearly neither of them were trying. That's true, honey. We're juggin.
Starting point is 00:12:51 We're jacking. but. And we were trying something. We were trying. It wasn't for gas of free tickets. But no, I didn't get them. I assume you guys did not. Well, you would know.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Literally everyone would know if we got them. But I don't think anyone has. Well, this is exactly what I wanted to say. And you know, I know everyone likes democracy, la, la, la. But I think fuck democracy. I think that the way that they've changed the system is mean. It's mean. And like, if you know how to get tickets, good on you.
Starting point is 00:13:18 I actually don't think it. Like, the thing I struggle with, the bots, situation is bad. The bot situation is bad. If you're a woman in STEM and you're doing at home DIY sneakiness, I think that should be allowed. I agree. Exactly. But I don't like the bot situation. I don't like the bot situation. I think this is the only barrier to bots. But can we not have a better system where they just get rid of the bots but they don't get rid of the woman in STEM? No, I think you should have to write a personal statement. I genuinely do. Okay, I think you should definitely, if you've been five plus years, you should automatically be discounted for at least two years. I agree. I think it's so unfair that some people have. I genuinely. I think it's so unfair that some
Starting point is 00:13:51 people have like glass marries a part of their personality olivia coals like she goes every year like i think that's unfair i agree and i think you should have to write out you should have to maybe you could do it as you want like it could be kind of up to interpretation you could do an interpretive dance as your submission you should do soliloquy you could do prose you could do you could do written you could you could do some kind of gorilla stunt but i think you should have to submit something okay because glastonbury is a you know it's a social experiment when you go like it really is like It's like the worst and best of society. And like, you know, you should have to apply to be that.
Starting point is 00:14:25 And it shouldn't just be based on your broadband provider. And it shouldn't just be based on your registration number as well, it should not be. I know. Like my, I was never in that queue, I don't think. Oh, I was, I would have never said chance. No, I didn't even start the race. No. I had one bar.
Starting point is 00:14:40 The saddest thing is that I have seen that the front runner headline is Eminem and I actually genuinely will have to like probably just. Why don't you litter pick? No, no, if Eminem is headlining, guys, I don't think you understand. I will have, like, deep, you will not see me for a month. I'm not joking. No, babe, you can get the Scalcers to get you in. Yeah, the scouses do get people in.
Starting point is 00:15:01 I've got people. All the scoutses get you in. I think you could, if you love Eminem that much, get your high vis on. You don't love him that much if you don't want to do your high vis. You could go. I'll have to watch it. Free. I don't have to, well, on my own.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Who's going to listen to it with me? You? Yeah. Depends who the other headline is it are. Eminem isn't that for me. I personally wouldn't litter pick for Eminem. Who would you litter pick for? Great question.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Who would I litter pick for? I reckon I actually would litter pick for Eminem, yeah. Eminem and the other option that was up being discussed was Madonna. She's kind of a borderline. I'm not sure I'd litter pick for her. I don't think I'd litter pick for her. But I would probably cry. I could work on a food truck for Madonna.
Starting point is 00:15:42 No, that's not the option. It's litter pick. I'd work at Swan. I could work at Swan. I could work at Swan for Madonna. Sorry, you've... I think there's very encouraging. levels of things I do for different acts.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Okay, yeah, I do a food truck for Madonna. I would not litter pick for Madonna. Right. But who would you litter pick for? God, so many. Oh, I'd little pick for Chris Stapleton. That's madness. That, yes.
Starting point is 00:16:02 You get tickets for him. You could go to Wembley and watch him. I couldn't get tickets. You didn't offer to Litterpick. I didn't offer to Litterpick. I should have littered pick to Wembley. That's what I should have. I had tickets, then I broke up with my ex.
Starting point is 00:16:14 And I didn't go and he went with his new girl. Wait, was his, he actually took the ticket. Yes. And took his new girl. Did you give them to him? Did he give them to you? He bought them for me. And he took them?
Starting point is 00:16:24 Yeah. So yeah, I would litter pick for Chris Stapleton just to prove a point. Sorry, hold on a second. They were his gift to you. Yeah. And then he took back the gift? Yeah. I'm guessing because it was like on his account and I never like text to be like,
Starting point is 00:16:37 hey, so about that present you brought me that's like on your AXF account. That is. And he went with a new girl, babe. No, no, I've understood that. It stabbed me in the heart. You should have asked for those tickets. I mean, I've spoken shit about him on a podcast for three and a half years, so I think so I mean, did you, were you at Chris Apleton? I didn't see you at Chris Apleton. You didn't see me there. So you should have asked him. Luke Coombs, the same. I'd probably lift a pick for Luke Coombs. Oh my God. Just go to Texas and watch all these people. Do you know what I mean? Just go to country to country, I guess. Just go to me. I can't believe it's a gift. That is actually in the law. Obviously, people... I have quite a weird opinion of this. Go on. I kind of think you should give your engagement ring back. Well, the law actually says that you can keep it. It's a gift. That is actually in the law. Obviously, people... I think it depends how it all full. down.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I think if it's a family heirloom, you should give it back. But if it was a gift, you should keep it. No, what if you were adulterous? You should give that back. It's a gift. That is the fact. That's the law. That's shocking.
Starting point is 00:17:31 That's shocking to me. I think that. Do you? Yeah. You cheat on your partner that's just bought you a X amount of... Okay. Just. I'm talking about in a divorce.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Oh, you're talking about like... I'm not talking about, like, you know, going out, cheating on raw and then just keeping my rock. I'm talking about... Yeah, like, that feels crazy to me. Yeah. The least you can have is your like thousands of pounds back. I'm talking about like in a, that is, that is legal that you can keep your engagement room. But actually even before then, if you, if you split.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Because it's a gift. Yeah, it's a gift. It's a gift. That's basically like. Energetically, I think I'd give it back. Genuinely. I don't think I would. My only, my only exception to the rule is if it was like his grandmother, grandma's ring.
Starting point is 00:18:15 You should have that back for your next. I don't want that. It's cursed. Yeah. I think it's all cursed. I genuinely think it's cursed and I don't want that money. Because what are you going to do?
Starting point is 00:18:23 You're not going to keep it. I would reset it like Emily Ratatowski. That is genuinely what I would do. Her divorce ring. Yeah. Slow. Yeah, that is quite iconic actually. That was,
Starting point is 00:18:30 that's what I mean. That's like... It depends how it all ends, I think. Like, I didn't actually feel perturbed that my ex kept those tickets, for example. I felt perturbed by that. I felt perturbed that he took someone else. I feel perturbed that he didn't say
Starting point is 00:18:43 these are your tickets. They were a gift to you. But it's like it was a gift when I loved you and I don't love you anymore. So, a gift is a gift. Savage love, it's true. A gift is a gift. Yeah, I suppose a gift is a gift.
Starting point is 00:18:56 Because that's like saying, I don't know. An engagement ring is so weird though because it's not really a gift. What it is? But it's not really, is it? Like, it's weird an engagement ring because it's kind of like a, what is it? It's like a display of engagement. And it's like as much about the person that's bought it as the person that wears it. Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:18 I agree, but I... It's not like happy birthday, here's a Rolex. That you can keep. Could be happy birthday, here's a Rolex. That you can keep. Is it not kind of the same thing, basically? Well, I think because the reason you've got that is because you're engaged to be married.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Because that person decided to choose to gift you to show a sign of their love. That is the truth. Maybe. Let us know. Let us know what you would do. What do you do, do you keep your ring? Obviously, don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 00:19:45 I wouldn't keep my ring and wear it on my fucking engagement finger, but I would keep it and reset it. I'd sell it, yeah. You'd sell it. Absolutely. If he was a dog... If he was a dog, I'd sell it. As in, like, if there was, like, hatred in my heart,
Starting point is 00:19:59 then I would probably be like, I'm obviously not giving that back to you, I'm going to sell it, and have the money and buy myself something that I want, just out of spite. What have you just ended amicably? Then I would... Oh, I'd give it back.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Yeah. Or if he's... What's he going to do with it? What are you going to do with it? What are you going to do with it? He'll sell it. I guess he could sell it. Well, he's going to give it to his...
Starting point is 00:20:17 That's my main issue. No, but that's so lame. If he gives it to his next girlfriend, lame, loser, go for it. Sorry, lame loser to use the Chris Ableton ticket intended for your previous girlfriend for your current girlfriend. Lame. Yeah, that was lame. Lame. Did the girlfriend know that they were originally yours?
Starting point is 00:20:36 That's a great question. I should DM her and ask, because I know who she is. But I don't know. I doubt it. I would guess no. That's quite bold to say. Oh, by the way, these are my ex. Imagine, when's her birthday?
Starting point is 00:20:54 I bought these were my ex at Christmas time. Do you want them for this Christmas? That's not right. I actually can't remember. He must have got them for me for my birthday because we broke up in November. I really can't remember. Trauma blocked.
Starting point is 00:21:06 They were for your birthday. They must have been. Yeah, they must have been. So she could have had a birthday then the following summer. Or he could have just been such a fun, spontaneous guy. Yeah. Come with me.
Starting point is 00:21:19 It's bad, that's dark. Energetically, that's dark. It's bad. It's bad. That's what I mean. He should have given you the tickets. They were a gift. Imagine the whole awkward, like, transfer a situation of like, hey, can I have your email?
Starting point is 00:21:32 Hey, have you been able to, hey, did you get the access code? Hey, did you? All good. Too all good. Okay. Join us in part two for your galley messages. Okay, galleys, welcome back. What should we call the galleys this week?
Starting point is 00:21:51 Chris, obviously. Or Sky. What about Sky? Sky. I love the name Sky. Sky. I like Sky for a boy like Mamma Mia. He's called Sky.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Really? He is called Sky. There's no other boy called Sky. Exactly. Sky Newman is a brilliant name. You know those names that you just don't forget. Like Donatella Versacee is one of, like, imagine. Actually having a baby called Donatella Fassachi.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Like, that is just amazing. Do you think? It's so sad if you do that thinking the world is your voice. And then she's like an accountant. They do nothing. Yeah. And you think, what a shame. But even then, like, we all have those people that we will remember from our school or whatever,
Starting point is 00:22:25 just purely because of their names. And that you always full name. Yeah. Full name. Yeah. Yeah. And Sky Newman is a brilliant name. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Okay. So, Sky. Let's hear our first voice note. Hi, girlies. Lovey Girls Loads. About three years ago, I've just split up with my incredibly abusive boyfriend. He abused me physically, mentally, financially. Oh, goodness.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Fast forward to February, and it's Valentine's Day. So me and my bestie, we go out clubbing. We end up bumping. We end up bumping into this guy who my best he actually knows. Me and this guy go home, we sleep together. Within about a week of us sleeping together, we are then girlfriend and boyfriend. Things were very rushed. We also then rushed into going on holiday together.
Starting point is 00:23:00 So maybe a month later, off we go to Tunisia. We're having a lovely time until about three or four days into the holiday. I realize, oh my God, I don't want to be with this man. He's clearly a rebound, though. We have a really adult, mature conversation. He was really understanding. He understood my points. he got where I was coming from and in his own words, you need to heal and it's just better to heal
Starting point is 00:23:22 when you're alone. I was shopped because I thought, oh my goodness, there's no way a man has just been emotionally mature. Obviously, we're still sharing a room together. Like, I still have to trust this guy. So we go up to bed that night. Wake up in the morning, he goes down to the pool before me and I'm just chilling in bed. He comes back up to put his phone on charge.
Starting point is 00:23:38 The moment he leaves the room, my gut told me to look at his phone. I look on his photos. And the last photo that he took at 6 o'clock that morning, was of my vagina while I was sleeping. And it wasn't even a cute photo either, didn't even have my booty in it, just straight flaps. It was disgusting. Straight flaps.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Obviously, I went down to the pool. I fucking went ballistic on him. Like, I was going crazy in his face. And then when we came home about two weeks later, it was my birthday, and I saw him out, and I punched him in the nose. He was bleeding, and he told his mom that he got in a fight because he was too embarrassed to say that I had done it. Love you loads, girlie.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Hope you like my story. Babe. Love you loads. Hope you like my story. I've got emotional with flash. Guys, I've got tears in my eyes. Love you, loads. Hope you like my story.
Starting point is 00:24:34 That is. I'm going to use that. That is. That was honestly the most intense two minutes of my life. I've literally never experienced anything like that before. Well, well. I've got me. many thoughts.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Go on. No, no, please. Well, number one, thank God for your intuition. My God. Like, what an odd prang to just, especially when you've had a very emotionally mature, good conversation to just go, I think this guy's wrong and I'm going to check his phone.
Starting point is 00:25:10 What a crazy gut reaction to have? I don't think that's the takeaway here. I'm just saying, trust your gut and get to know your gut. A, how did she get into his phone? Don't get to know your gut. Get to know your fucking partner. I don't know. just a crazy idea.
Starting point is 00:25:26 No, but it was all such early doors. And also, you cannot know that someone's going to take straight flaps picks. You just can't know that. You would never know that. And in Tunisia of all places, you would never know that. You would never know that you were going to end up in Tunisia with your rebound and he was going to like full frontal flap you whilst you were fucking sleeping. After you've just had a conversation about the fact that you feel like you need to heal emotionally.
Starting point is 00:25:47 From a toxic man. By the way, that, that is some dark shit. That's crazy. Right, well, do you know what's your main takeaway? My main... I think there might be a therapist out there waiting for you. I think there might be... Because that's a lot to go through.
Starting point is 00:26:03 I think the fact that you punched him in the face... I totally forgot about that bit. I'd checked out by then. I honestly, I was on my way to tears by then. As someone that can relate to the feeling of wanting to punch someone in the face... I think there's a lot of unresolved. No, I don't condone violence, but he deserved it to honestly. But I think it actually, the punch in the face is fine.
Starting point is 00:26:21 But to be honest, I wouldn't have waited. I would have done it there and then. I would have opened that phone, walk down the pool, much me the face. Oh my God, yeah. I would you mean wait for a night out? I'm not fucking, what? Also, I've got so many questions. How did you get home from Tunisia? Where did you sleep that night? Like, did you have to pay for another hotel room? Did you tell him you saw the straight flaps picks? Cool, so that's why she shouted at him by the pool, surely. Oh yeah, cool, sorry. Unless she was just shouting for, you know, and hid the reason that she knew.
Starting point is 00:26:43 But did you not think at that point then to punch him in the face? That's the, I'm not understanding there. Maybe she was so shocked. Like when you see, I haven't seen my flaps like that in a long time. I hope to never see what I can't remember the last time. You know, when you have, I full front and I saw my flaps. When you've had an ingrown hair and you have to like, it's like underneath. I've had to put a mirror there. Yeah. And then you've got to do you remember that? Why would anyone want a photo of that? Do you remember embarrassing bodies? Was that what it was called? Or like something, one of those weird Channel 4 programs. I used to love them. And they used to say you really should sit like, you know, once a week with your legs open in the mirror, just looking at your vagina. Just
Starting point is 00:27:19 Once a week seems excessive. Checking everything's okay. Checking nothing's changed in colour, shape, size. It's good to know, be abreast. Like, I'm actually not abreast. I can't remember the last time I had a foot face-to-face on my own vagina. I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:27:35 Really? When did you? Not that long ago. I mean, I don't remember, like, you know, the date and time. And what, you just had a little spread leg in the mirror, just a little look. No, I wouldn't just spread leg in the mirror, but there was something bothering me underneath. I'll tell you what it is. actually. I know that actually exactly one. And you took a picture or? No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Took a picture. I don't know what you're doing in your spare time. I'm not with you all the time. I basically had laser and there is... I basically have labia. Thank God. Thank God. I also have labia. But I basically had laser, but there is this one little patch of a probably seven or eight thick, thick pubs right underneath that just will not die like they just grow back every month and I can feel it because then they're like they're like they're my pubs sorry this is maybe too am I
Starting point is 00:28:25 my my pubes I've got that you're your pub they're quite thick anyway so once a month they have to get Rawls razor and get under there and just get under there and you use a mirror so that was for a beard and it's got a thick razor yeah cutting thick hair and I just shaved that little patch down there.
Starting point is 00:28:48 So I know what it looks like down there. Yeah. Yeah. It's really good to know that. I might go home and have a little look. That's why I love botched. Oh my God. Bosted was my like number one shot and it also always played after the Kardashians.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Yes. That's why I loved embarrassing bodies because I'm like, oh my God, that's fascinating. Naked attraction. Yeah, love naked attraction. Love naked attraction. Sorry, Sky One. This is all so by the by. I'm so glad that you survived both of those experiences and you came out on the other side
Starting point is 00:29:15 because you sound pretty chirpy for someone that's been in the ringer. The ringer. The ringer. Real, real ringing. Yeah. Ringing in my ears. That is bad. Yeah. So well done. And thanks so much for showing your story. We loved it. We absolutely loved it. And we just send you love and light. Right. It's time for an email. Hi, girls. Another Emily for you. Love you both and the pod. And I need some advice from the people that know. I have been seeing a guy for a few weeks. But so far it seems to be going well, unheard of. We met on a podcast. We met on a podcast. We met on a pod. an app, so no mutuals or anything. The dilemma is that I'm throwing a birthday party, 30 to 40 people for my 30th next month, oh my God, are you me? We'll be two months from our first date. My family, work, colleagues and long distance friends are all coming. What should I do? The hardest hard launch ever so early on, or don't ask him and perhaps regret not having him around or hurt his feelings. Realistically, it might not even last and then oh well, but he knows I'm busy organizing, so the
Starting point is 00:30:13 closer it gets, the more uncomfortable it'll be if I don't have the conversation either way. Please give me your advice. I literally feel like I just had this conversation with someone. I love this question. I genuinely feel like I just spoke to one of my friends about this. And I think that she's settled on... Not. It's so hard because I think if you're like thinking optimistically and you really like someone,
Starting point is 00:30:35 because it's a milestone birthday, you think, oh, if we end up together and we look back and you want and my 30th will feel really sad. I do think, like, devil's advocate, the fact that it's 40 people, if you invited him, like, with a friend or even like two friends, I actually don't think that would be crazy. But I do also think it wouldn't be crazy to say, I'm going to be, like, distracted and, like, with all of my friends and, like, you probably won't have a good night. So I'd love to celebrate my 30th with you separately. Yeah, I think that I actually don't think you will look back and think it that's so sad,
Starting point is 00:31:13 because you'll think, did it really matter? We didn't know each other. Yeah, it's not deep. I think you should celebrate your 30th somehow if you really like it. With him. Yeah. I think that's actually, also I do, my actual main reason for not inviting him on that day would be
Starting point is 00:31:27 because especially when you're like in a new, like two months in, you feel very like, it's a very strange dynamic to have to like maneuver all night with 40 people and this new boy. Like it's a lot. you're going to have to do a lot of like nannying. And you're kind of watching him and you kind of snog him. And you know everyone's watching you.
Starting point is 00:31:48 And like I just personally would just prefer not. Yeah. But I think if he came with friends, it actually wouldn't be crazy. I don't think there's a right or a wrong. I think it depends how you feel like you want to. Yeah. But like go about your night. Like if you want to get shit face and let loose and not have to really worry or think
Starting point is 00:32:07 about anything, then I would say probably don't invite him. Because no matter what you will feel some like, responsibility for him. Yeah. You will. Even if he has two friends, you will feel like, are they okay? Are they talking to people? Like your family, your parents, if they haven't met, that will all be a whole, like,
Starting point is 00:32:23 there's just so much at play. Yeah. So I think if you want to avoid that, maybe just don't. Yeah. I think you can also speak to him and just say, I'm planning my 30th and it feels weird that like, you know, you're not, I just wanted to address the fact that you're not currently coming. How do you feel about that?
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yeah. Like he might say, I could definitely be there. I don't know. Or he might say, yeah, no, I think that's so cool. And you'll be like, cool. No, because I think you need to decide first what you want. Because if you say that, that leaves him. Yeah, because what if he says, no, I'd love to be there?
Starting point is 00:32:55 And then you think I actually really don't want you there. You need to decide and then you need to say. Yeah, okay. You need to tell him. You need to address. Don't ask him, yeah. And then don't do that thing where, this is so me. On the day where you're like, oh my God, but I'm like so obsessed with him and he's the only person I want there and then invite him on the day.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Don't do that. If you've decided, it's a bad idea to have him there. stick with that. I agree. Because that would, I would so do that. I'd be like, wait, I love him.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Why wouldn't he be there? And then I'd invite him and then like, I'd probably regret it. The thing is two months is too early to know. And also it depends what kind of like two months
Starting point is 00:33:26 you've had. Like you've been seeing each other three times a week. We've been seeing each other like. Once every fortnight. Yeah. Basically, you can do no wrong in our eyes but just make sure you've really thought it through
Starting point is 00:33:34 and then communicate that to him so that you don't invite him just out of like awkwardness to be like, oh, you should come. Or out of like, I'm obsessed with him. Yeah. Because try and come to a grounded, logical decision.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Yes. Good luck, love you. Let us know what you do, please. And happy 30th. It's time for the galley gossip. It's time for the galley gossip. It's time for the galley gossip, which is, you know, where girls gays and gays like to share, share their gossip. We've had an email from Haley, who had a man judging her taste.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Oh, dear. Yes. Hey ladies, I have a galley gossip that I need to share with you. So the other day I went on a double date with my friend and she got me a date with a guy. Let's call him Jake. Love that. I already know that this man's... Anyone called Jake. Oh, that's not his real name. Okay, but the fact you've chosen that as a code name suggests to me that you think he's a wrong one. I don't know about Jake. All the men that are bad of jakes. I don't know what to tell you. I thought they were all T names. No, J names, you're right. It's Jay. Jake, Josh. James We're at a sushi restaurant and everything is going well until he starts asking me about my likes and dislikes He asks what kind of music I listen to
Starting point is 00:34:51 So I tell him Oasis and Blur Indie girl, love that He immediately gets irritated And when I ask him why He tells me that his dad listen to them and he hates them Okay How can I go on another date with someone Who thinks I listen to the same music as their dad?
Starting point is 00:35:04 What the fuck? I would just literally be like Do you know what, James? I don't give a shit about your daddy issues. If I want to sing Wonderwall, I will. Do you know what I mean? That's actually one of my pet peeves, these cool boys, these cool boys wearing their like baggy jeans
Starting point is 00:35:20 that think they are, connoisseurs of music. And if you dare say, Sabrina Carpenter, they're like, so, like, disgusted by you. And they're testing you. I hate tests on dates. I really hate tests. And I try really hard not to do it myself. People do that with, like,
Starting point is 00:35:37 what kind of restaurants? do you like? Yeah. What are your hobbies? Yeah. What? Is there a wrong answer now, Jake? Are you the fucking hobby please?
Starting point is 00:35:44 I just think I hate it. I hate that. I agree. I completely agree. Because also I'm like, if I like country music and you like techno, I don't think that that's going to stop us having a good time in life. Like, I really don't.
Starting point is 00:35:54 It's only going to stop us having a good time if you're going to be a judgmental prick. Yeah. The problem is for some people music is their like whole soul identity. Well, then you need to do some inner work because that's not right. No one should have one soul identity. You shouldn't. Not one thing should not dictate your entire personality I really believe that
Starting point is 00:36:12 That's why people that move to East London Did you see broken hollies? No Skit of East London That is for some of them Oh when they're in bed They're like all right Yeah it's so good
Starting point is 00:36:20 And she's like rolling a blem in the morning And then when she's like I can have a blanket And it was like I gave you a blanket last night And she was like you gave me a risler And she was like yeah Because I'm so skinny
Starting point is 00:36:29 That's my blanket That is when people make that One thing now I just think you can be everything. Yeah. I think it's hard because I think music is one of those things that people like really nerd out on as well.
Starting point is 00:36:43 So then if God forbid you're not like nerdy, it's the same with like books. Like when someone's like, I got this guy on Hinge at the moment. It's like, oh, I've just been really getting into like and this really like pretentious author. I don't even, I can't even remember the name. Like he's like an Argentinian author
Starting point is 00:36:57 that I'm guessing it's like adapted into English. And I just think you're testing me. That's a test. I just really actually, a personality trait I despise is like it's kind of like that snootiness. Yeah, it's like snobbery. Yeah, I absolutely hate that.
Starting point is 00:37:12 Oh, I just think sod off. You can find that in, like, genuinely people are snobby about, even to the point of like, well, you live south of the river. I know. Like, God, God, God, when I say clapping, you'd have thought that I said. Like fucking Afghanistan, do you know what I mean? It is. I say like that I live under a bridge, for sure.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Sure. is that's what people behave. That is how people behave. I am not in control of other people's behaviour. And they behave crazy? I hate it. I hate it. I just think, like, I get it.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Like, you want to have similar interests and taste of the person you're dating. But I do just think, like, someone listening to Blurb would not be a deal breaker for me personally. Nor me. Like, it just wouldn't. Like, the only thing that would be a deal breaker if it is if, like, you know, you read MindCamp or something. Right. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:05 If you've got, like, some kind of, like, weird hit-in-a fanatic and you, you just, you like collect. Yeah. Like that guy and the gentleman. Yeah. Then I'm like, oh, well, that's no good. I'm probably not going to like learn anything from your hobby, apart from the fact that you're a psycho.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Yeah. Because that's why I always think, like, someone being interested in other things than you is like so interesting because then you get a whole new world. But that's why I think it's so nice when people, I know, like, people I think get really hung up on like having the same hobbies as their partner. I actually don't believe, I think it's like really cool if you have different
Starting point is 00:38:37 hobbies because I didn't like football and now I actually like football. Yeah. I think it's cool if you can like learn off each other. I think you want like almost like a vendi diagram. Yes, I can't. I agree. They want their own and then you want things in the middle that you both enjoy. I agree. That's the dream. So anyway, you can't go on a date with this man. Another one basically. Fuck him. Because he's a judgy Jake. He needs to go to therapy. He does. All roads lead back to therapy. I just know that the world would be such a better place if everyone went to therapy. I know that. I do know that. I know, we need to find a way to make it like mandatory and government funded.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Anyway, it's not your problem, to be honest. Just move on, I suppose. Don't go on another date with him, okay? If you want to get involved...
