Starting point is 00:00:35 This is the podcast where we help the galleys in need. Whether your future husband wants to get married at Sanford Bridge Or your first date literally puts you in a headlock This is the podcast for you Babe, babe I've got these for you Because we're very tired Because it's the night after the NTAs
Starting point is 00:00:52 Right, I know the problem It's gonna be that people are gonna want tea Because last year at the NTAs, let me tell you The tea was fucking piping hot No, I do not remember us saying any tea last year from the NTAs What tea? I won't repeat it on camera. Oh, did we?
Starting point is 00:01:09 We didn't talk about that though. We didn't talk about that because we were, you know. We didn't see it. We were muzzled. I thought that was at the Brits or something. Oh, wait. Maybe it was the Brits. I don't think that was the NTAs.
Starting point is 00:01:20 We're referring to when Mora Higgins might have caught having a little kiss with Danny from a fly. Thank you. That must have been. Allegedly. I don't think it was alleged. It was not alleged. It was at the Brits after party. Because the Brits was at the O2 that year.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Yes. Yes. No, the NTAs. is actually never crazy. What everyone needs to know about the NTAs because I know that everyone's going to want to know the BTS is that it's just like a bit of a fever dream because everyone is just wandering around.
Starting point is 00:01:54 It is really... Okay. Like you just, I just walked past Joey Essex. I thought that was weird. With his sonny's on. I was like, why should need your sunnies on? I know. And I said, do you know who'd hate that, poor pie?
Starting point is 00:02:04 He hates when people wear celebrities, uh, sunglasses inside. Yeah, because he thinks it makes you think that you're a celebrity when you're not. Okay, the thing about the Brit is it's really fun, but it is a show. Okay, so you sit down and you watch the show. It is so fun. Yeah, because there's those of musical acts, obviously. Yeah, it's a different vibe. Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Also, the carpet is, the Brits carpet is the most, like, incredibly massive overstimulating thing you will ever experience in your entire life. Also, they have all the Brits school kids there. Yeah. So it feels like there's like a crowd for the carpet, which is crazy. Yeah. The Bafters is very, very serious. Oh, it's so serious.
Starting point is 00:02:38 And it's middle of the day and people don't really get that pissed. Well, also, you're not allowed to drink in the ceremony and yet in the day and the only reason you would get up. It's a very different vibe. You'd get up to go for a week. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Yeah, that's it. And you're there to honour the art of acting. And as we should. Really. It's serious. The NTAs is the most fun night because everyone's like, it's basically like
Starting point is 00:03:02 sixth form leavers ball. That's exactly what it's like. And when you like the whole industry just goes, oh, let's just have a big one. But it's like six form leavers ball if all of the six forms in your area books the same venue. And like you will buy tickets to six forms ball, but you're not all from the same school. Yes, that's exactly. That's exactly what is. So you like drop into other people's bits.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Like we would be in like a box, for example. And then we'd think, okay, boring. We've got friends from a different school in a box upstairs. We're going to go to that, to our friends. So like we went upstairs to the gel bottles. box because they always do cocktails. And our box... And famously, we cannot...
Starting point is 00:03:42 I especially cannot drink anything but tequila. Yeah, I lost Al for a second there. We were in the hallway of the corridor. I don't know what you even call it. Like outside all the boxes at the O2 basically. Yeah, the corridor. I'd call that the corridor. The lobby. The corridor.
Starting point is 00:03:56 And there was a lot going on, like a lot to look at. Like everywhere you know from your telly. And Al was like this. I just couldn't... She couldn't even talk. Like we were in a conversation, she said this. Sorry, for our listeners, I'm kind of showcasing stunned. No, but if you're listening on Apple Podcasts, you can now switch to video.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Yes, this is our, ready? And I go, your case there, she goes, it's just a lot to take in. I listen, so much to see. So much to see. Also, it's one thing I always like to see people's outfits in the flesh. Yes. When you see them on, you see them on Instagram, you always do, because you do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:32 And then you see them in the flesh, you think, well, well, it was so. Many thoughts. Many thoughts. Paris Fury. We said hello to, we stopped her to say hello because she's such an icon. She said with her. Babe, I saw her video from that Pash with Fash that we did, Fash with Pash that we didn't make the cut for. We did so many interviews that did not make the cut, just so everyone knows. Her, yeah, because then fucking Paris Fury and all these people came along.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Famous people, yeah. And Paris Furey's dress arrived an hour before. And I wanted to reply, obviously, us too. Us to Paris. We also had a nightmare with what we were wearing. What else can we tell you? Who else did we say hello to you? We met truly precious.
Starting point is 00:05:07 What a hun. If you don't know who truly precious is, you have to look at her TikTok because when I first found out about her, I then went to her TikTok and I literally, I spent, I lost two hours of my life to truly precious TikTok.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Really? So good. She's so funny. Okay. And she was such a hun. I loved her. We saw the new Love Islanders, which I always find so fun
Starting point is 00:05:27 because it's almost like they're like the new kids on the blog. Well, I always think it's funny because it's like their first, it's like initiation. Yeah. It genuinely is. Sweet Kav did look like,
Starting point is 00:05:37 he was at his six-form leave as well. Did you see his little suit? Oh, bless him. He looked 16. Like he was just like it was his first suit. But as he should like that, that's on brand for the NTAs. Exactly. It was perfect.
Starting point is 00:05:49 It was perfect. You never said hello to your twin, Jasmine. I know. You should have said hello, but she's got a picture of two of you. Do you know what, guys, the more I see pictures of her, I'm like, I do think people need to get their eyes checked.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Just because we both got brown skin, in my opinion, does not mean we look the same. Yeah, agree. It is wild. Your eyes are way like bigger than hers. We don't look similar. Maybe if you did the eyebrowing, her eyebrows are crazy. What are they like?
Starting point is 00:06:13 They're so thin. She's got that trendy 90s brow going on. Oh yeah, I did see that. Like a high arch. Yeah, I did see that. Even then, I mean, I could try it on FaceTune. Yeah. I put a picture of her and me next to each other.
Starting point is 00:06:26 We would still not look the same. Yeah, yeah. Babe, story of my life. The amount of people that say I look like people that I genuinely am like, that could be... I'm blonde and blue-eyed, and that is the similarity that I have about that part of them. Sometimes not even that. And I think, what are you seeing that? I'm not. Fascinating. Who did someone say to you the other day that you looked like?
Starting point is 00:06:41 Well, even when I get like a Madeline Argy, I'm like what? I know. I don't look like her at all. Like in anywhere. I don't even think I look like Anne-Marie personally. I get that all the time. I think back in the day, you did have some similar, more than you do now. I don't know, maybe with the bob, yeah. Anyway. Anyway. Who else did we see?
Starting point is 00:07:01 Who else did we see? I honestly don't know. Everyone. Like, genuinely, if you saw someone at the NTA, Okay, the only people we didn't see were like, Amanda, like all the traitors. Oh yeah, we didn't see Amanda Hall, we didn't see the traitors, didn't see Alan, didn't see Paloma, like that. I didn't love to have met Sheridan Smith, but I don't know where she went. She must have partied hard somewhere else. Where did they party hard? Or maybe they didn't party hard.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I don't know. We're still, oh, I've got Uber all over my top. I could have guessed that when you took a little off. I'm not going to lie to you. I think I was a bit hungry, so I was seeing that phone and I was like, delicious lunch. now I've got it all over myself. I couldn't believe how early the after party finished but apparently that was the same as last year. It was one. It's always one.
Starting point is 00:07:43 They turn the lights on. So bright. I hate it when they do that. And do you know what did listen? R.A. P. Dolly Parton. But the last song was Jolene. I'm like, it's not giving. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:53 But then maybe, I do always think this. I'm like, I'm torn between the last song of the night. It's a hard choice because sometimes when it's too good, that's actually bad. No, I think you want to leave on a bit of a high. Jolina's was a bit of a downer, really It was a bit of a downer and also Dolly had just died
Starting point is 00:08:09 so it was quite depressing But like I don't like it when the song is like an absolute banger because then I'm like, why am I going home? So in the mood now I know You just played a banger I like it when it's like Oasis personally
Starting point is 00:08:20 that gets me going A bit of Wonderwall at the end of the night Like I can sing along See that's too cliche for me I think I need something like Robbie Where is the love what's wrong Yeah something like that
Starting point is 00:08:33 Yeah He's got to be able to say Yeah. They could have done nine to five. Like they could have done a Dolly song. Jolene was just a bit sad. Jolene is quite depressing song. Well, yeah, because she's stealing her man.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I know. And do you know, it's a story of a bank teller. I do know that. Yeah, the bank teller that was flirting with Dolly's husband. Yeah. May he rest in peace. And may Dolly rest in peace. Anyway, I think it's a message for DJs across the world.
Starting point is 00:08:58 To choose their last songs carefully. Yes. I genuinely do you like that. Agree. Imagine doing the last song in like Ashwyer. What do you play? Too stressful. Too stressful.
Starting point is 00:09:07 It's actually kind of cooler. They should just like stop dead. Boom. Midset. End of the night. It's the end of the morning really though. Yeah. I guess you could just like ease out into some kind of like lift music.
Starting point is 00:09:18 True. Have you ever been to a club and stayed till the last song? Because I don't think I have. Yeah. Are you on court? No. Never. No, well that's a good thing.
Starting point is 00:09:28 You should never be there at the end. It's always bad when you're there at the end. You've never in your life. No, because my friends, I'm famous in my friends for always. leaving at the right time. I'm not a straggler. That's amazing. You don't chase the night.
Starting point is 00:09:39 I don't. So what happens? He goes, did they announce it's the last song or does it just end in a clip? He did say this is the last song. But in the club normally, the lights come on. Like almost halfway through.
Starting point is 00:09:52 It's really quite bad. The last song. And then it's just silence. Lights up. Bright lights. Sometimes it's not even that. Sometimes it's literally, you don't know it's the last song
Starting point is 00:10:00 because you've not, but then when you look at your phone, you're like, this is it. Then they finish. It's finished. You can literally hear the fucking plug. And then the lights come on.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Stop it. And then you walk out and you're like, okay, I have just literally transported to another year. Yeah. I had it the other night when I was out for Billy's birthday and the lights came on and I thought, oh dear. No, no, I've got to go now. Everything that I've just been doing was fine under the cover of darkness but now I must leave. Don't you think that is so weird? I often think that.
Starting point is 00:10:30 The difference that the lights can make to your experience or something. But then famously that's what Shakespeare writes about in Romeo and Juliet in particular is that, you know, their love can exist under the cover of darkness. They would never do it in broad daylight because obviously it's so frowned upon. It's so wild.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah, but that's the same with anything. In all of your teenage years, you've never stayed with the light. Like, I honestly... What about uni? I can't think of any time that I've stayed in the lights. In a pub, yes, but not in a club. I see.
Starting point is 00:10:59 What you're trying to say is that you are a pussy. I'm not, because I'm usually going to... I mean, excuse me, I'm going to the afters. I think it's quite tragic to stay till the end of the night in a club. I don't think it's a flex. I think you're right. I don't think it's a flex to be like, I stay till the end of the night.
Starting point is 00:11:16 No, no, nor do I. But I'm shocked that, you know, at one point in our lives, it kind of was a flex. Do you think? Yeah, when you're young, you're not fucking washed up 30-year-olds. Yeah, I do. I think it is.
Starting point is 00:11:28 She's got stamina. No, but she's on to something bigger and better. Like, all the losers that can't go home with anyone I'm still there when the lights are on. Izzy's pulled. Yeah. She's got our coat. She's gone.
Starting point is 00:11:38 No, but back in the... Okay, for me when it was, when I was younger, it wasn't about who's pulled. It's about who's having the afters. So then you all look around in broad daylight. Yeah, basically. The lights come on and then we decide
Starting point is 00:11:48 where are we going for afters. Yeah, got it. No, because I think that stunts the excitement of the night because you're all sort of... You're tragic, you're pulling at strings going, please, can you someone invite me? Whereas I feel like whispering someone in the club that's time to go, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:12:03 Yeah, nice. Time to go and then they go out. Let's go to mine. Sure. You want to, that's for a pull. Not a pull even. It's not always about a pull. Not always about getting with people on a night out.
Starting point is 00:12:15 But I do think. Yeah, Al. Tell yourself. Excuse me. No, I think it's more sort of classy to leave there. No, no, listen, I don't think you're wrong. And by the way, I just want to say the lights come on at the entities at one in the morning. It's not like 5 a.m.
Starting point is 00:12:32 No. We had no choice. It wasn't like embarrassing to be there at 1am, I don't think. No, that's fine. No, but if it was 4, 3.34, then yeah, embarrassing. Or if it's like really the dregs and the riffraff left, that's what I always think. If the riffraff is you and your mates, that is the best fucking part of the night you will ever have. Because everyone is so shit-faced.
Starting point is 00:12:53 No, it's not the best part of the night. It can't be. You can't possibly think that. If the dance rule is getting empty and the riffraff that's left is like you and all your friends. Yeah, yeah, towards the end. But that moment when the lights come on in. It's the best part of any... No, no, I'm saying that bit,
Starting point is 00:13:04 that bit, when the dance ball gets a bit empty and it's just you and your mates. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you are the dregs. The dregs. Let's call the dregs. The drags of the drags. The drags of the drugs, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Yeah. I have it all the time whenever I go to Archer Street. I'm always there at the last song, and I think, why am I here? Then I question every single, like, decision. I do you think, Archer Street, I think you might be nearing the age limit there, yeah. They don't let you into you 25.
Starting point is 00:13:25 We've only got five years in Archer Street. Pretty much. I genuinely do you think so, yeah. Spiry day. I honestly think. I sometimes think I'm the youngest person in Archer Street. I look around and I think bloody, yeah. Really?
Starting point is 00:13:34 Yeah. They all roll in from brunch. They will stay. Mental. Yeah. I think Artistry's got to have, I think it should genuinely be upwards of 25, downwards of 30. Seriously.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Well, those songs are, oh, people. In Archer Street. Who actually, okay, other than you, who is going to Artistry? I know, why am I that? Sometimes it will be a Friday and I'll end up in Artter Street. will come on and I think, God, I've done it again. And I didn't mean to be here. What time to the lights come on in Archie Street?
Starting point is 00:14:04 3 a.m. Okay, yeah, that's too late in Archer Street. I know. Oh, maybe it's two. I'll let you know. Next time I'm there and the lights are on, I'll let you know. Give you a little text.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Say Archer Street lights are just come on. The NTA's after party is fun though because it's such an eclectic mix of people. Agree, and there are lots of interesting people there. Because it's also all the people that work in telly, like all the producers and lots of like press. I do wonder why you. they lit the press it. I'm not gonna lie.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Someone came up to us and was like, any goss. We won't name names, but she literally came up to us and she's like, have you got any goss, any names? And we did not have any goss for her. And I literally said, what do you want from us? We're wearing shoulder pads. No one's telling us anything today. We look far too serious to be given any gos. No one tells us anything. And even if we didn't know, we wouldn't fucking tell you. We're not very switched on and actually for like the purpose of having a podcast,
Starting point is 00:14:54 we should probably like look alive a little more. Like I don't always notice things that are happening. Like if someone was... Speak for your... Did you not see me? Tell me one thing you clocked. There was nothing to look at. There's nothing happening.
Starting point is 00:15:05 I'll tell you what I need to talk about. It's the vape epidemic. Why is everyone vaping as if it's like... People are vaping as if it's like sucking on H2O, like oxygen water. Like I have a puff of that vape and I have gone to space. Why is no one getting affected by the vapes? People are getting affected by the vapes.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I literally had one puff of this girl's vape and I was like, I'm high as a kite. And it was a vaid. And people are sucking on their vapes in the middle of the day. Right, that's a you problem because I'm not experiencing it. Does it not make you more drunk? No. It does, babe.
Starting point is 00:15:38 No. Don't lie. You're lying. I sometimes have that with a cigarette. I have never had that with a vape. I swear all my life. Have you? Yeah, I get like this sort of like weird euphoria where like it's all in my head.
Starting point is 00:15:51 It's more of the next day. My throat the next day. Oh, that's why I sound like this because I was vaping last night. Terrible. You don't get that. You don't get a Nicki rush from a vape. Not really. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Not in the same way because I know that sensation where it's like it overcomes you. No, I mean that night when I had the Nikki Rush and I was nearly sick in the toilet with that girl. When I had that after party and I was almost sick of my for Chloe Rose. Over Chloe Rose, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:12 That I don't get that with a vapeer but I do get like, oh, the feeling of my alcohol is enhanced. Oh, really? And why is everyone puffing on it as if it's nothing and not substance? I've never, I've so normalised. It's so normalised. It's so, petrifying how normalised it is.
Starting point is 00:16:25 Yeah, of me, do you need to get on the fucking. You need to, okay. I don't need to be anywhere around it. I think it's awful. No, you need to get on the TikTok algorithm of all these girls and boys who are in hospital because all they've done is vape the last five years
Starting point is 00:16:37 and they're like, let this be your side. Pop or lung. It's no joke. It's fucking serious. Don't I know it on the dancer of the after potty feeling like I was gonna pass out? I was literally like, oh wait, no. No, but those ones were stronger.
Starting point is 00:16:49 What was that? That's the one that they refill with the liquid. That was cracking it. I don't know what was going on, I was literally like... I genuinely think it was that fizz. I'm not even joking. The fizz.
Starting point is 00:16:58 I really think as soon as you have a sip of anything if you're on spirits and you start drinking anything but you are fucked you have literally said bear me over and fuck me up the ass that's what you've done there.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Goodness gracious that is very aggressive language. Okay I hope my mum's not listening to it because she would be... Take that back. Say that nicer. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:21 I think if you stay of your drinking spirits and then you go to anything else wine, Prosecco. By the way, my hands were tied. No,
Starting point is 00:17:30 no, I don't know why there was no tequila. Not your fault. I'm not, at an after party. You were the victim in this situation. I'm not saying,
Starting point is 00:17:35 if your thought, I'm just saying, I think that might be the reason for that euphoric rush that you experienced. I've never had a euphoric rush from Proseco.
Starting point is 00:17:42 No, kind of vain. Pricco. It's all like mixed now. Kylie Ponceco and a Gary Barlow Rose is not giving me an euphoric rush.
Starting point is 00:17:51 With the vape. The vape was strong. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. And all the margaritas. I did. So it's like you can't. You just, this is why I genuinely, why do they serve champagne at weddings?
Starting point is 00:18:04 No one should drink that. Also, now makes sense why people get so shit-faced at weddings. You drink champagne, then you drink wine and then you go to spirits. I mean, that is a, it is. You are literally asking for. Come on. I think your mum is listening to this and you just said what you just said. You're asking for trouble.
Starting point is 00:18:24 It's going to end in tears What's going to happen Guys Quite frankly end in tears Yesterday We were talking about someone I had it honestly Could not even
Starting point is 00:18:35 I can't remember who we were talking about Was this one we were past or before No I'm in glam And I said well I think He looks like he's on methadone I was like he's on methadone I was like Methadone
Starting point is 00:18:48 The fuck Are you talking about Methadone Who was that? It was a famous honestly couldn't tell you who it was but I was like well he looks like
Starting point is 00:18:59 he's on methadone and Drew was like you literally sound like like you've not left that house in 50 years like what is methadone famously methadone and I will only be referring
Starting point is 00:19:08 to methadone as methadone as his full name is his full name are you enjoying this I think it's time for it to come off now actually
Starting point is 00:19:16 it's sliding down my face does it feel oh you look so much better thank God you did that you were looking a bit tired before. Can I tell you some other major goss? Quickly, because we're running quite... Ali-onji's app update. I'm just following the script.
Starting point is 00:19:30 I can't believe I forgot we had an iPad. I genuinely forgot we did this shit with an iPad. You okay there? Wow. Don't you know better? Amazing. Thank you, Grace and Stella. You do look better. Not that you looked bad before. Update. You need me.
Starting point is 00:19:47 If you want me, if you basically, if you need someone... You need me. She's doing that now. fucking last night everyone's complaining how shit they're outside and she goes well you need Al
Starting point is 00:19:59 I did say that I did say you need to enjoy out I'm rolling your eyes at me just I'm just rolling my eyes because where's the date where's the dick babe
Starting point is 00:20:05 that's why I'm running my eyes there are two messages that you've not responded to that I listen I can take a horse to water that's where you draw the line well number one you're matching
Starting point is 00:20:16 with these boys that I do not approve of this guy lives in Arachova no he's from Arrida I exed him well X him then Irvin How do I
Starting point is 00:20:25 I don't know how to do that. One they're in the match. How do you do that? Three dots. Unmatch. So I think this is unrealistic matching for me because I'm like, what am I going to do with in Arachova
Starting point is 00:20:34 with Irvin or whoever his fucking name is? The first one on the top, he was good. He was the one that said, wait, sorry, we need to tell the story of the ballet. We can tell the story now. Right, we were walking back to the Liverpool Street Station tube. Last... Very specific, no need.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Okay. Last week, after we saw it. you basically. And we're walking along. We'd actually had a fucking nightmare because we just tried on those fugly, fugly outfits that we then ended up wearing to the Global Influenced Marketing Awards. Anyway, so we were, you know, it was like 6.30, it was prime rush hour. We're walking to the tube.
Starting point is 00:21:09 We're a bit zombified, I would say. Yeah, and like we've got so much stuff with us. Yes. And this man walks past us, suited man and goes, I love your guys' videos. They always come up on my Instagram. And G, turned around and went, you. And I was like... Because he was a boy.
Starting point is 00:21:26 He was a boy in a, like, corporate suit. Also, he was staring at us, but I thought I knew him. Like, maybe he worked with holes or, like, I don't know. I was like, you're staring. So I thought, like, oh, we must have met in another life. I didn't think that he would be a fan. Anyway, he was. And I, I like, I always have it like this.
Starting point is 00:21:43 I was like, you're that our first ever suited galley. Yeah. Bally. Bali. Anyway, the next morning, he texts, he DMs. Gee, read the message The one thing I'm not locked into Is her DMs
Starting point is 00:21:56 That's where I do draw I don't even draw the line there to be honest Nothing happens in them I wish more happened I wish I had something to hide Like you know in my DMs Right what's his name No I can't find it
Starting point is 00:22:07 It basically said Please don't mention my name on the pod Which we're not gonna do No But I would love to take you out for a drink I'm the guy that stopped you on the street yesterday Crazy Should or up
Starting point is 00:22:19 Yeah so I just think Sod it What have I got to lose You're like, you might be creepy. True. But we'd seen him. I'd seen him and I knew he looked fine. We did a background check.
Starting point is 00:22:29 I checked his LinkedIn. Yeah, so we were fine. I'll check his LinkedIn and was like, maybe he's young. I think he's young. Okay, I was thinking maybe like 27 young. I don't know how you got, well, you could have on LinkedIn in uni? Yeah, but then he was, he worked in law. So we thought, hmm, maybe law takes a while to do the law.
Starting point is 00:22:49 You bloody were. She's young, isn't he? Babe. when I say, I went on a date with this boy, right? And we go for drinks. He was so sweet. Like, honestly, he was so nice, like good vibes. Like, handsome boy, lovely boy.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Anyway, I'm getting the vibe. I'm like, he's young. Like, young, young. Anyway, then I just at the end of the night, I'm like, sorry. How old actually are you? And he was like, oh, I'm 23. And I was like, sorry. I was like giving it the bit, like I did the date.
Starting point is 00:23:18 You know what I mean? I turned up. And I was like, When are you 24? And he was like, oh, I turned 23 last week. Oh my God. Brug with mine, I turned 30 next month. He's like...
Starting point is 00:23:30 He's like mid like 2000 and 3, 2004 to 2005, isn't it? Yes, babe, yes. He won't honestly know who the spice girls are. I am now on a register that how bad that was. Yeah, it was crazy. So obviously I will not be seeing him again. God bless. But if any galleys out there are looking for a nice boy,
Starting point is 00:23:45 I can be the middleman because he's great. It's a shame. It's a real shame. Because if he was... Okay. He was looking to settle down. He'd be a good choice. I'm dead.
Starting point is 00:23:57 He would. Right, let's move this shit along. Join us in part two for your galley messages. Guys, I've just removed my Grace and Stella eyepatches in the break because they were, in fact, now cheek patches, not eye patches. Welcome back. What should we call the galleys this week? Alan for Alan Carr. What did he win?
Starting point is 00:24:25 He won a special recognition, I'm pretty short. Yeah. Okay. And that's what you should be called. Let's hear our first voice name. So my mum had me when she was quite young. She was 16 years old. So she's always been a young mom.
Starting point is 00:24:37 When she was like 40 or so, she had this boyfriend, right? He was 28. I would have been 24 at the time. So there's quite an age gap between the two of them. But he was cool. Like we got along. I ended up meeting his best mate who was 34. So there was like an age gap between us.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Anyway, things sort of started and we ended up in a relationship. But mum and my partner at the time were always a little bit weird. Like we were all adults. So like we'd have drinks together and whatever else and they were always a little bit like, I don't know, just weird. They'd be like, oh, like careful what you say around here, blah, blah, blah. Like just weird behavior. And I was always like, okay, whatever.
Starting point is 00:25:13 Like, I don't know what you're talking about. But anyway, after a while, mom went through his phone and found a whole album of photos of me. Photos that he had like sneakily taken, just like literally across the dinner table, photos of me at the beach, like when we were all down there hanging out, photos that he'd gotten off my Instagram story. There was a couple of like photos of random girls sprinkled in there. And one photo of one of my younger sisters actually too. And he was actually at my partners at the time at his house when mum found out.
Starting point is 00:25:46 So when she's called and confronted him, not only has he realized he's been outed, but my partner at the time heard it all too. just kind of knocked him out and his roommates put him out on the street. But yeah, so there's a little bit of family drama. Bye. Bye. Bye. What's so funny.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Also, I'm trying really hard because obviously I am like, you know, she's really hung over. I don't understand a word of what you're doing. I could need some clarification because I've even made notes and tried to draw arrows and stuff because I was so confused. What are you confused about? So right, her mom's partner.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Right, okay, so her mom had her very young. They've only got a 16 year age gap, her in her mind. Yeah, exactly. So her mom starts dating a younger guy who's only four years older than her. Yes, exactly. But then the mom's boyfriend has a friend who's 34.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Yes, and the daughter gets to him. But who's got the pervy photos? The 28-year-old. Yeah, the mum's boyfriend has been doing a bit of Kiran nightly business in love actually. Yes. A picture taken.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Yes, got it. Yeah, yeah. And what did she say? You were a pub? What did she actually say? I guess she said to her boyfriend at the time, why have you got pictures and why have we got an album? Save.
Starting point is 00:27:31 of my daughter on your phone, you wrongen is probably what she's head. Do you think if you found an album saved on someone's phone of you, you'd think that's so romantic or so weird? If Raw had an album of me on his phone, you'd be like, I think that's not right. Well, that's an album of you on his phone, yeah. You'd be like, Raw, my love,
Starting point is 00:27:52 what you do with that? It's not that. It's, it's... Okay, your sister? No, it's not, it's my daughter. You'd be your daughter. If I had a daughter, it would be like, If this is that. Number one, no reason is that. If raw. No, if this is that. No, we know raw. As in I'm saying. No. I understand. I'm saying. No daughter doesn't exist. I'm trying to give you tangible examples.
Starting point is 00:28:15 I don't know. Sorry, sometimes I do you think. Do you think I've got one brain cell? You're trying to respect it to me. Yes, I do. I've understood the premise. I don't need the fucking spark. No. I have genuine. That's it. a third. No, when you, you do you need because I'm trying to give you a comparison like when you said to me,
Starting point is 00:28:39 like if I, if you walked in and Rul was shagging your dad, I was like, I've understood that he was shagging the dad. I've understood that. No, I know.
Starting point is 00:28:51 When you're not by that, you've got, you've got. You've got to. I'm trying to put it in layman. I'm not layman's terms but like our terms. I've understood.
Starting point is 00:29:00 If it was asked, but like, you don't have a daughter. So I can't... I'm asking you, how would you feel if you found out that, okay, Raw was a bad example. No, it's not because I don't have a boyfriend
Starting point is 00:29:08 to use as the example. So, Roy is your boyfriend, the only boyfriend we have. So he's our candidate for the... Okay, how would you feel? If you saw that he had... How would you feel if Roar had...
Starting point is 00:29:18 If you had your sister then, not me. An album of your sister, you'd be like, Roan, that's weird. Yeah, I'd be like, you're a freak. And I need to break up with you now. I just decided that is it, because I'm, what are you doing with pictures? I agree.
Starting point is 00:29:30 I agree. What have you named it? That's like in fucking love actually. She never said anything. And actually now I look back at that. Look, what, Kira didn't. And I think, do you know what? Wait, you never said anything.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Kira or, um... Kira never said that he was obsessed with her. Kira never told her husband that his... No, she just snogged him in the street. She was deeply flawed in that film actually. I agree. I look quite pretty. Fucking hell, Kira.
Starting point is 00:29:51 Yeah, and fucked. There's a lot more going on than how pretty you look. I agree. What? Ooh, you stayed a bit close. Kira. That's what I mean. And then she runs out and snogs him in the street.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Oh, it was a kindness. I actually don't think it was. I think it was a kindness. Sometimes you've got to have a kiss to let it go. I would actually speak to Richard Curtis about this because I don't think it was a kindness. I think it was patronising a fuck. I don't. What, he didn't look sad. He looked elated when he was walking away from that.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Oh, a little peck. Thank you, Gira. Yeah, because he's a fucking loser who preys on his best friend's wife. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, I was so sorry that happened. It's difficult. or being so close and age to your mum
Starting point is 00:30:38 because you actually can date the same catchment of men. Listen, I'm not here to judge anyone's life choice. Well, actually, I am. But you do. I think the first problem here. Was it she was dating a 28-year-old who was four years older than you. And I think... But that's like my mom.
Starting point is 00:30:58 My mom dated a man, my dad. Yeah, yes, that is your mom. Who is like five years younger than her mom. It's the other way around. the way round. But yes, it's the same thing. Yeah, like if my nan went out with a man that was like... The same age that's four years older than your mum. That is odd. But then I guess, you know, each of their own is her life. It is her life, but like, it's all obviously clearly impacted your life quite substantially.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Do you know what, actually, I think about your mum and your dad often, I say, when she went home and she bought your 105-year-old dad with her, did no one say, Linda? No one said this is odd. Do you know what was so odd? Because I was talking about my 30th the other day, And I was like, oh, Dad, will you say a few words at dinner? Say a few words, you know. Do a speech. Get up there. Say something.
Starting point is 00:31:44 And my mum was like, your dad did a speech at my first year. Shut. Wait a minute. I was like, I'm just doing the timeline. You guys weren't properly together when you were 30. So he was just like, Loki, your boss at work. And what, you were just invited, your 40-something, your old boss to your 30th. And he stood up and did a speech.
Starting point is 00:32:03 And my dad goes, it was a very good public speaker back in the day. And I was like, that's odd. That's like me. Wait, how old were they when they got together? I think my mum was probably like 28, 29. But when they met, like not when they got together. They weren't together at her 30th. Well, clearly they were.
Starting point is 00:32:22 And I was like, did no one look around and think, who's this man during the speech? I do think back then, I don't know what happened to everyone. It seems like no one was speaking up. I'm not even joking. They were very like. Order of silence. Well, yeah. Ignore and avoid...
Starting point is 00:32:39 Like, just brush that under the fucking carpet. Well, I think they weren't very nosy. ...to her 30th. He was in his 40s. Yeah, illegible for his bus pass. I think it was very much like, you do you sis. Like, no one really called each other out
Starting point is 00:32:55 on anything because they were all just living for themselves. They were quite selfish, the boomers, I think. I think they were avoidant. And I think they were scared. Well, none of them went to therapy. That wasn't a thing. Yeah. So like, what's the daddy?
Starting point is 00:33:06 Who knows? They didn't even have podcasts. They didn't know anything. What a start. Cry shame. Well, yeah. And you know what? That's why I think about this.
Starting point is 00:33:14 We are actually doing public service charity work here and we should be invited to Pride of Britain because the advice that we give out, people pay money for this. I think we actually might be the only content creators in the UK not invited to Pride of Britain. I wonder why that is. Shocking. Shocking. Shocking. Anyway, bye now.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Bye. Bye. Bye, Alan. Goodbye. Bye, Alan. Thank you, Alan. Thank you so much. Goodbye. Right, if you can get through this, a weird ago.
Starting point is 00:33:41 I've got an email now. Hey, girlies, biggest fan of you both over here. You're literally my biggest comfort watches, and I love this pod so much. Well, if you still love it after today, kudos. To you. I need her about, babe.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I'm sorry. Must you make that noise? The vapes. It's the vapes. It's those big, big vees. She's trying to not look like Joanna Lumley. And then she laughs like that. She looks exactly like Joanna Lumley.
Starting point is 00:34:10 That is, like, that I'm literally, I might as well fucking change my name to Jennifer Sorders. That is Joanna Lombo. I need your advice about a situation with a guy. I met him on Hinge back in March and we've just had the best summer together. Really? He's honestly the most perfect man I've ever met and has always gone above and beyond for me. He's absolutely gorgeous. Six foot four, blonde, blue-eyed used to be a model.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Oh, that's jealous. So I never thought I'd meet someone who ticked every box. Why, do you like the blondes? I don't trust people who are too perfect. Don't trust people that are voluntary. There's something wrong there. The problem is he goes to Union America and is heading back for his final year.
Starting point is 00:34:44 We always knew this was coming but decided to leave the conversation about what would happen between us until last week. For ages, I was adamant that a long distance relationship wouldn't work but then I fell completely in love with him and wanted to make it work. He said that realistically he can't see how a relationship would work with the distance but at the same time he gets really upset at the thought of leaving me. Oh my goodness. He said he wants me in his life because he's never felt this way about anyone.
Starting point is 00:35:05 So we've decided to keep speaking and see each other when he's back but I'm not sure if that's actually the best thing for me. I obviously want to stay in contact because I've never felt this way about anyone before. And honestly, I can't imagine finding someone else like him, but I'm worried that not knowing where we stand will make things even harder if we never end up becoming official.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Do you think I should keep him in my life and see where things go? Or is staying in contact just going to make things harder for me in the long run? Love yous. Love yous? Love yous? I would say, like, off the bat, initial response to this one,
Starting point is 00:35:36 is that if it's not clear, what the status of your relationship is, then there's like almost no point. Like I guess you could do a little check in just to be like, how you doing? Hope you're well, because he meant a lot to you. But I definitely wouldn't want to be like trying to keep up
Starting point is 00:35:53 a level of communication with someone that like has promised me nothing. Because actually you could do a year long distance if you really wanted to. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree. That's actually not the end of the world. He's going to come home once in that year, surely. and if not you could go out once like you know what I mean
Starting point is 00:36:09 you could probably see each other twice in that year I think a year is realistic also it says school year yeah a uni year it's not like a real year it's not 3665 but Americans they are
Starting point is 00:36:18 they have it different baby they're not doing 365 days at uni no but they are I think they do more I genuinely do think they do more they get spring break they don't get like Easter holidays
Starting point is 00:36:26 go over for spring break yeah yeah and Christmas and then he's finished in summer yeah is that year I wouldn't call that year it's already September
Starting point is 00:36:33 I would say to him before he goes I really like Thank you. Can we just... Yeah, but if he says no, then I'm so sorry. You're going to have to go through the heartbreak because I think it's worse. You're going to be more heartbroken if you come to like a non-agreement. Your non-agreement is not an option.
Starting point is 00:36:50 And then he goes to America. He's doing his bits. You're not doing your bits. Well, you should be doing bits. But this is the problem is that if you're in love with him, you're not going to want to do bits. True. But if he's already set you up to say,
Starting point is 00:37:03 I don't want to do long distance, you're basically, in this situation, you need to take the power back and make it work for you and know that even though you're in love with him now if it's going to hurt you in the long term to be with him, it is categorically not worth it.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Also, he will come back. If it's meant to be, you will find your way back to each other. You'll both be single at the right time. But if he's at the point now where he's like, I don't want to commit long term, long distance,
Starting point is 00:37:28 unfortunately, and I'm really sorry this is so painful. There is absolutely nothing you can do because try as you might to make, to make what you have into something, it's not going to be what you want and then you're going to feel disheartened
Starting point is 00:37:43 and you are going to feel betrayed when something, I don't know what that thing could be, it might not even him be. Even if he just goes a bit cold because he's busy with a light somewhere else. Yeah, or like literally, it could be anything. Yeah, he has to, I think like, and I think sometimes in these situations,
Starting point is 00:37:58 everyone, him, you, whoever wants to be a bit like, okay, well, I'm going to keep you like in no man's land so that I don't lose you completely. but I also don't have to commit anything to you. And I actually think that no man's land is not sustainable. It doesn't actually end well. You cannot start the uni year with no man's land.
Starting point is 00:38:15 I agree. The only thing that happens in the end there, Izzy thinks it's different. I don't know, because I'm obviously in this situation. I can't actually relate to this girl. Because you're basically doing. Izzy is holding herself in purgatory.
Starting point is 00:38:29 No, but you're not holding yourself back. Yeah, she is. I feel like I say I'm not, but I guess I'm not going on date. I'm not seeing other people. She's holding herself back. You're 100% holding herself back. But if you found out that he wasn't holding himself back,
Starting point is 00:38:42 could you be heartbroken? Yes, but I shouldn't be because we've got no legs to sound like. I kind of am aware that at any point it could blow up in my face. So I'm kind of like, if you want to go that route and like hold out for them, you kind of have to sort of accept that it could go wrong. That's good advice. I think it's good advice.
Starting point is 00:39:00 This is my situation. Well, because also you do have to, like you're right. Like, as in you can stay in the purgatory, but you have to know that like, you know, the end result is not necessarily Valhalla. It's like it could also be Helena. Right? Like, you have to know that.
Starting point is 00:39:16 But like if you're willing to do that and be in the like sticky, painful thing for a year and you're okay with like, not wasting that time, but you know. No, but you are in limbo. You are. You're living in limbo and you are basically living in hope. Yes. And I personally don't think that that's actually
Starting point is 00:39:36 the healthiest, and I'll say this to you also, I've said this to Ezi many times off camera, don't mind, this is not the first time. She can't really be me. I personally think that if you're strong enough, you are strong enough to carry that, but if you're the kind of person
Starting point is 00:39:50 that, like, that eats you up and, like, you can't carry the weight of that, then it's not good for you. And it's genuinely better to be heartbroken now and healed in a year than it would be to drag it out because that is kind of an option here. out for a year, you have a hundred arguments about the fact you don't speak, you're seeing
Starting point is 00:40:09 each other. There's just so many potential downfalls here. Yeah. Your choice, your life, but you've got to whatever you choose, you have to know that you chose that. And then if you're going to choose to sit in it, you have to be happy with what, you can't control. Babe, you can't control what other people do.
Starting point is 00:40:28 All you can control is how you respond. So if you think, if that happens, I know that I can temper and control my response to that, cool, do it. If you don't think you can do that, don't do it. Avoid it. It's no, it's no Buono. I know that like if you can't, like, you know, if you are holding yourself back elsewhere, know that you can't feel like, if it then doesn't go your way, you can't feel frustrated at that waste of time. You have to give that time away freely and be like, it was worth giving that time away for me. Fine, so fine. But if it's not and you're going to look back and I don't know how old you are either. But say if this was me right now, I wouldn't
Starting point is 00:41:05 give a year to someone that wasn't giving me a 100% yes. No, I wouldn't give them fucking two weeks. But if I was 24, maybe I would give them a year. Because... But I think you were even young. Last year of uni is 20. Yeah, so maybe I would then. Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:41:19 Maybe I would if it was really... The problem for me is that if he's like a bit... It would really... I don't know what the conversations you have, but if I'm getting the vibe, but you're really not into it, I'm like, well, I'm not going to beg you. Or wait for you. No way.
Starting point is 00:41:33 I'm going to live my life and then if you hit me up, great. And also, you know, good on you trying to, like, good luck to you trying to live without me. Amen. No, facts. Okay. It is time for the galley gossip. It's time for the galley gossip. To be honest, guys, we should have had more galley gossip from you from last night.
Starting point is 00:41:53 I'm sorry, we have failed you. We have really failed you. Do you know what we should have done? Okay, next time we go to a big event like this, we need to voice know as we go to Izzy. And that can be the galley gossip on that segment because I think when I'm in the moment, I am clocking things. post all gone. Yeah, Gally Gossip, and LNG Gully Gossip would be kind of a slim moment.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Okay. So this week, we have got a DM on Instagram from Emily, who wants to know the juiciest bit of Galley Law. Can I just say you're about the 10th Emily that we've had in the last week? The two girls last night were both Emmilies. I'm not joking.
Starting point is 00:42:27 That genuinely, I think that is the like 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, Emily that has recently come up. I wonder how popular. of the name Emily was in the year that our listeners were born. Maybe it was like girl name number one. Probably. Dear Ali and G, first of all, I'm sorry
Starting point is 00:42:43 for bringing this up, but I'm dying to know. Never be sorry, there's nothing off limits at Ali and Glemented, at Leave a Message or in the galley gossip specifically. What was the biggest argument you two have ever had? Was there ever a proper I never want to speak to you again moment?
Starting point is 00:43:00 Oh my God. And most importantly, what was it about? I feel like you've been friends for so long that there must have been some absolute caucus. Are you both still convinced you were in the right or has one of you had to admit defeat and apologise? Love a very nosy, Emily. Oh my God, Emily, I love you.
Starting point is 00:43:13 I wonder if we're thinking of the same one. I honestly don't think we've ever had a blow out I never want to speak to ever again argument. We've never got that far. Well, if we have, I was not aware. Glaston Rue was quite bad. Oh! I think Ali probably did think I never want to speak to you again.
Starting point is 00:43:34 And then I probably probably did think. thought it for a second. That was bad. Yeah, probably that was the biggest one. I think that's the worst one we ever had. No, there was that one time in my living room when you were being a cow about fucking vlogmus. A cow about vlogmus?
Starting point is 00:43:49 And then Holly took my side and then you started beefing Holly. Oh yeah, that was. Wait, what were we fight? Because I said should we, because basically the first of the month was actually like a Tuesday or something would have normally been your day. So I was asking you,
Starting point is 00:44:04 do you want to do it like odds and evens or do you want to do it like days of the week and you were really high over and knackered and you were like I just want to do it how we did it before and I was like what do you mean I don't know I would just it was like a bull I can't even tell you what we were arguing for context I hate doing blog book
Starting point is 00:44:18 I mean don't we all but someone's got to fucking be the captain of it and luckily for you I was anyway I don't remember that being a big argument though at the time no it was just a bit of a swipe yeah and then oh we do that all the time all the time we've never not spoken it was worse because Holly and then...
Starting point is 00:44:36 Yeah, and then I had a fight with Holly. Yeah, of course. On the way home. Because she took my side as she should. I was like, I will fuck you up. You'll ever do that again? I didn't say that. But like we fight like,
Starting point is 00:44:45 but Al and I are both the same that like we don't like to sleep on an argument. No. So we will like go at it. Like if we're having a proper argument, like in the beginning when we are really like... No, I was thinking about this. We would sit after a drive-thru up guys
Starting point is 00:44:59 and we would like... Wouldn't even argue, but we would like tease. I would say we... Are we, we're actually good. I do think, like, if we were a couple, we would be, that's why we work. Oh, we'd be phenomenal. We're really good at resolving things. And our communication is amazing.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Yeah, and even if it's an argument, it's actually not really an argument. It's like a conversation. We would never scream and shout at each other. Ever. Ever. Ever. We did have a fight at Glaston Marie. Okay, and I will tell you for why.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Because when you, because we were glamping, we were staying off-site. And when you leave Glastow in the evening to go back to your glamping camp, Never done this before, just so everyone knows. Neither heard any of us. Just, I think you got lucky, but go on. They give you this little slip that proves that you left the night before. I actually don't know why they need it's fucking stupid.
Starting point is 00:45:48 And they don't tell you to bring it back. They give you this little slip. So obviously the three of us, me, Holly and Roy. I'm also shit-faced when they give it to us. As will we all. No, I know. I think it could have happened to anyone, but carry on. Except it didn't.
Starting point is 00:46:01 Yeah, cause it didn't, classic me. We all just put it in the... pocket of the ticket thing that you get wherever everyone's tickets was you just put that little slip in anyway we go to Glasgow the next day was this the day after I dropped that bottle of vodka was that same day? Maybe that's why you're in such a family no no and anyway we got to the thing
Starting point is 00:46:21 and G didn't have that little slip and then what happened you had to go and sit in they were like you can't come in they were like you can't come in I was like ever and they were like no I was like obviously like devastated at this point, so hungover. Those guys, like, just went in, like, lived their lives. I had to sit in this tent with these other people
Starting point is 00:46:43 that had also, like, lost this slip, with these, like, other people in, like, high viz that were kind of trying to, like, figure out what to do with all of us. And there was a queue situation. It was, like, in a queue. It was also, like, roasting. Yeah, it was not good for anyone. The environment conditions were not good.
Starting point is 00:46:59 Were awful. Anyway, then, raw, thank God, had given me his jacket the night before to wear because it was freezing and I'd put it in the pocket of his jacket and he thank God had his jacket on him. So then he found the ticket, brought it back to me and then Al just basically hated me for making them walk back. I think I did say something. Yeah. I said I said something mean. She was mean. But that's okay. And then sometimes she's mean. Sometimes I'm forgetful. Do you know what I mean? What's the girl to do? And then, to be fair, She's really good at being the first person.
Starting point is 00:47:34 I'm so bad. You're so lucky, do you know that? I have it with you and with rule. I know, I am so lucky. Because if you were with someone that was as stubborn as you, you'd have no fucking friends left. I know, I know that, because I know that.
Starting point is 00:47:44 I will go to her, even if I'm fuming at her because she's just been mean to me for no reason. I literally be like, right, should be friends? No, no, she's really good at that. And then I'll go. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:53 Didn't even mean it anyway. Sometimes with me, it's just like, you just... She's just got to explode. I've just... The kettle has to boil. Do you know what I mean? I do think that's the worst. We don't, we've never got to the point where it's like...
Starting point is 00:48:05 Oh my God, never. Also, we can't. That's why we don't leave an argument. We would never have an argument and not finish it. Yeah. Even if we have to sit for hours and talk about something, we would never leave there. We would never. Ever.
Starting point is 00:48:18 We couldn't do this job, guys, if we did. I really, like, who did we meet the other day that was like, I can't believe you two actually like each other? A lot of people say that to us. We get it all the time. I can't believe you two are actually friends. I was like, the fuck. does it feel that fake?
Starting point is 00:48:35 Are we not doing a good enough job? It's so painfully real. Maybe that's why. Because especially in the beginning in drive-through, sorry, we shut up in a minute. But in drive-thru, like, YouTube series, we used to leave loads of us bickering in because we didn't think anything of it
Starting point is 00:48:48 because we were like, people do fight. Friends and sisters do fide. No, I think it's really important that people see us bickering. I genuinely believe that because I think... You see it in relationships, you don't see it in like... Well, this is why I always think about the Kardashians. They're the only people that ever showed family fighting ever.
Starting point is 00:49:04 And then you look at that and you think, whoa, that's so bad. It's not. It's not. That is so normal. You can say the meanest shit to each other or you can like push each other's buttons and you can like, like, and then you're just like, do you want, what do you want for dinner? It would be so weird if we never thought. Like if we never got pissed off at each other, that would actually, there'd be a problem. Especially this far in with all the shit that we do. If we'd never had a fight, I'd be worried. But now we're really, we are really good at like, also we know each other so intimately now that like I know when I'm a bit touching you know vice versa
