Legal AF by MeidasTouch - George Santos Gets TOTALLY ANNIHILATED by DOJ in NEW SUPERSEDING INDICTMENT

Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm Ben Myceles from the Midas Touch Network, more devastating news for Maga Republican Congress member George Santos, who was just hit with a 23 count felony superseding indictment by the Department of Justice out of the Eastern District of New York Federal Courthouse, where George Santos is already being prosecuted for numerous counts of fraud. We previously reported here on the Midas Touch Network that a status conference that was supposed to take place involving George Santos for the prior felony counts was continued in what we explained was either George Santos was likely going to get hit with a superseding indictment or he would enter into a plea agreement the same way to other individuals who worked on his campaign are entering into plea agreements.

Starting point is 00:00:49 One Nancy marks his former treasurer, who was just filed on and the other Samuel Mele, one of his campaign workers, who was also engaged in fraud. But George Santos, obviously, unlike them, did not take the play agreement or plea negotiation seriously. So the department of justice filed on him again with 23 count superseding indictment that was just filed in the Eastern District of New York. Here is how this, uh, superseding indictment has been described. Santos allegedly filed fraudulent fundraising reports with the FEC to obtain

Starting point is 00:01:26 financial support for his campaign and repeatedly charged the credit cards of campaign contributors without authorization. So as Nancy Marx, who was his treasurer, is going to be pleading guilty to and who was filed on what she has testified to and will testify to against George Santos. She reported fraudulently falsely to the FEC that Santos loaned his campaign $500,000 to make Santos appear to be wealthy and receive matching funds from the Republican Party when Santos never made such a loan. Also added here is that Santos literally stole credit cards from so-called contributors, and he ran their credit cards to give him money, stole money from him that way. Here's how it's described as well, the superseding indictment that was just filed

Starting point is 00:02:22 against Santos by the Department of Justice. A 23 count superseding indictment that was just filed against Santos by the Department of Justice. A 23 count superseding indictment was filed today in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, charging George Anthony de Volder Santos, better known as George Santos, the United States representative for the third district of New York, with one count of conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States, two counts of wire fraud, two counts of wire fraud, two counts of making materially false statements to the Federal Election Commission FEC, two counts of falsifying records submitted to obstruct the FEC, two counts of aggravated,

Starting point is 00:02:55 identity theft, and one count of access, device fraud, in addition to seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, a par tridge and a pantry. No, one count of theft of public funds, two counts of making materially fall statements to the United States House of Representatives that were charged in the original indictment. Santos is due back in federal court and central isolate. That's where the federal court for the Eastern District of New York is located October 27th, 2023. Starting point is 00:05:33 During the 2020 election cycle, when Santos was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives, he engaged in a scheme. The purpose of the scheme was to ensure that Santos and his campaign qualified for a program administered by the National Party Committee pursuant to which the National Party Committee would provide financial and logistical support to Santos's campaign to qualify for the program. Santos had to demonstrate among other things that his congressional campaign had raised at least $250,000 from third-party contributors in a single quarter to create the public

Starting point is 00:06:10 appearance that his campaign had met the financial benchmark and was otherwise financially viable. Santos and Nancy Marx's former treasurer agreed to falsify reports to the FEC that at least 10 family members of Santos and Marx had made significant financial contributions to the campaign when Santos and Marx both knew that these individuals had neither made their reported contributions nor given authorization for their personal information to be included in such false public reports. In addition, understanding that the National Party Committee relied on the FEC fundraising data to evaluate candidate qualifications for the program, Santos and Marks agreed to falsify the report to the FEC that Santos had loaned the program significant sums of money when in fact Santos had not made the reported loans at the time the loans were reported and did not have the funds necessary to make such loans. These false reported loans included a $500,000 loan when Santos had less

Starting point is 00:07:13 than $8,000 of his personal and business when he had less than $8,000 in his personal and business bank accounts. So Santos only had $8,000 in his accounts. He lied and said that he loaned $500,000. His treasure and Nancy Marx will be testifying against him. She's cooperating. Santos is going to jail for a very long time. You remember back when we were reporting on the FEC statement, spy George Santos, and we were saying, how did he get that $500,000? He made it up, not real, just completely fraudulent. No one loaned him the money. He just made it up to try to get matching funds and to act like he had money when he didn't.

Starting point is 00:07:53 In other words, he lies about everything his whole life. But get this, the credit card fraud scheme is where he steals credit cards, steals the credit card information of contributors and just ran their cards. Here's how it's described by the DOJ and the superseding indictment. In addition, between approximately December 2021 and August 2022, Santos devised and executed a fraudulent scheme to steal the personal identity and financial information of contributors to his campaign. He then charged contributors credit cards repeatedly without their authorization. Because of these unauthorized transactions, funds were transferred to Santos's campaign

Starting point is 00:08:31 to the campaigns of other candidates for elected office and to his own bank account. To conceal the true source of these funds and to circumvent campaign contribution limits, Santos falsely represented that some of the campaign contributions were made by other persons, such as his relatives or associates, rather than the true card holders. Santos did not have the authorization to use their names in this way. For example, in December 2021, one contributor texted Santos and others to make a contribution to his campaign, provided billing information for two credit cards.

Starting point is 00:09:06 In the days after he received the billing information, Santos used the credit card information to make numerous contributions to his campaign and affiliated political committees and amounts exceeding applicable contribution limits without the contributor's knowledge or authorization. To mask the true source of these contributions and thereby circumvent the applicable campaign contribution limits. Santos falsely identified the contributor for one of the charges as one of his relatives. In the following month, Santos repeatedly charged the contributors credit card without the contributors knowledge authorization, attempting to make at least $44,000 in $844,800 in charges and repeatedly concealing the

Starting point is 00:09:50 true source of funds by falsely listing the source of funds as Santos himself, his relatives and other contributors. On one occasion, Santos charged $12,000 in the contributor's credit card, ultimately transferring the vast majority of that money into his own personal bank account folks that fraud It doesn't get much worse than that much dumber than that much malicious than that and there's a whole host of witnesses now of other people have been charged cooperating against George Santos yet George Santos continues to be the face of the Maga Republican party. Folks, this is who the Republican party is. And now George Santos,

Starting point is 00:10:31 who did not take a plea agreement is going to go to jail for a very, very, very long time. He should be very, very worried right now.
