We have the new announcement of who's going to be receiving one of the highest civilian

honors a president can give, the Presidential Citizens Medal, and you won't believe who's on that list. I'm going to tell you about it on Midas Touch and Legal AF. There's a number of ways that an outgoing president can honor those for their civil service, their patriotism, their defense of a nation. One way would be to hand out a pardon. I'm going to talk about that in a minute. But for right now, we're going to give out gold medals.

The gold medals, at least two of them, are going to Benny Thompson and Liz Cheney. Benny Thompson and Liz Cheney, the co-chairs, Democrat and Republican, respectively, of the Jan 6 committee. And their investigation, their hard work, their patriotism, their bipartisanship that got to the bottom of what happened on January 6th, who was responsible for it, the links in the chain leading to the insurrection, and Donald Trump's role in it and liability for it. Donald Trump ever since has had it out for Liz Cheney. Betty Thompson too. Betty Thompson also at one time was a litigant against Donald Trump in the civil lawsuit, the civil rights lawsuit under the KKK Act pending in Washington.

He's since been replaced because he's a sitting Congressperson and he was also on the Jan 6 committee. I think he's still a party but he's taken a little bit of a backseat there. But against a lot of, you know, it took a lot of personal courage for Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney to cross over and indict, if you will, Donald Trump for his actions. In fact, in the announcement that the White House made about Liz Cheney that said that she represents freedom, dignity, and decency with characteristics of integrity and intrepidness." God, I hope that on my tombstone I have any two of those words emblazoned on my tombstone.

Liz Cheney has earned it. I don't agree with Liz Cheney on most of where her head was at before when it comes to social issues, when it comes to LGBTQ plus rights issues, when it comes to certain overly conservative, and I mean that in a traditional sense, policies and procedures. She is the daughter of Dick Cheney, the Sith Lord, the Darth Vader,

that gave us many, many bad things coming out of the Bush administration. But I have to give credit where credit is due, and we have consistently on Legal AF on the Midas Touch Network. We can wring our hands about what she did in the past, but Liz Cheney, at great political and personal cost, went after to be a bulwark against Donald Trump

and his bullying. And she got ostracized and made an outcast within the Republican Party as a result. She lost her seat, she didn't get reelected, she's no longer in Congress, and now she has to do her civic duty, her patriotic duty to continue to try to rein in and be rigorous in their analysis of Donald

Trump from outside. I think she's the perfect candidate for the Presidential Citizens Medal. At the end of the day, that is something that she is exactly the type of patriot that should receive this type of award. Benny Thompson, too. Benny Thompson did a valiant effort. I mean, anybody that watched any part of the eight or nine different episodes, if you will, of that long-running hit show, The Jan Six Committee Hearings, knows how masterful, how dignified the proceedings were. Now, the MAGA doesn't like the

outcome because they don't like to hear evidence. They didn't like to hear all the evidence that Liz Cheney vetted. Let's be frank, she was the editor-in-chief of that publication. You know, she did a lot of the interrogation and investigation herself under oath, a lot of the cross-examination herself. You can hear her on the tapes. And then she stood opposed to Donald Trump in his attempt to get elected again and endorsed ultimately Kamala Harris. So I love the fact that Joe Biden is using everything in his power to preserve his legacy to reward people who were true patriots and defenders of our Constitutional Republic. And there's only a small handful of people I think fit that bill. I think J. Michael Ludig, former Republican, former federal judge, Sixth Circuit Court

of Appeals, constitutional scholar par excellence on the Mount Rushmore of federalist judges. He's been a frequent guest with me, been interviewed by me. He issued a tweet that saved America to help Mike Pence make the ultimate decision he needed to certify that election, Jan 6th of 2020, last election. So we have that. I think J. Michael Ludwig should have gotten this award as well. He should get a gold medal wrapped around, you know, hanging from his neck. Benny Thompson, of course, no brainer there. is a right and wrong. I don't live in a world of relativism. There is black and white when it comes to morality and justice. Liz Cheney may not embody all of the qualities of an elected official that I would vote for, but I certainly honor her and respect her for what she did. The fact that Joe Biden has hung some gold metal from her neck is appropriate. The other thing Joe Biden's gonna have to continue to consider until 1159 on the 20th of January is whether he's gonna give a preemptive pardon

to Liz Cheney, to Benny Thompson and others. We talked on Legal AF last night about public interest groups and NGOs, non-governmental organizations putting together groups to help protect those who may be in the crosshairs of a Donald Trump administration, FBI, DOJ, investigations of his enemies list. Those enemies are your fellow neighbors, are your fellow citizens, and they need resources and protection. Most of them, the vast majority of them,

don't have vast sums of what I call F-U money, right? And they can be bankrupted by this kind of investigation. So there's groups that are working now to help that group. You know, I get that, that's important. But honoring the Liz Cheney's of the world at this moment in time, this critical moment in time, where the world looks like it's exploding. I just did reporting yesterday and today on two different army veterans at the level of Master Sergeant or higher, one being a green beret, just did acts of terrorism and political speech combination,

killing people, including themselves. I don't think it's a coincidence. I know that as of right now, the FBI and other investigative agencies are saying that the cyber truck explosion in front of Trump, the Trump building in Vegas, and the death of over 15 people and maybe more to come in New Orleans at the hands of a US citizen, 10-year army sergeant, master sergeant, are not related and they're not linked, but they are. They are related and they are linked because of the tone at the top being set by a depraved,

decrepit, immoral person who's about to occupy the Oval Office, sending the message and the signal to the rest of the country that this type of violent rhetoric and protest and destruction and killing of your and murdering innocence is okay when it's not.
