his contempt of congress charges,
but that won't last long because he starts a new trial as a criminal defendant in New York in
December for his role in bilking millions of dollars out of donors in the phony build the
wall foundation scandal. I'll break it all down for you right here on the Midas Touch Network. I'm Michael Popak. Now, let's talk about Steve Bannon for a minute.
He has, voluntarily or not, provided key evidence to the special counsel in the prosecution
of Donald Trump in the DC election interference case.
It looks like many of his phone calls may have been recorded and meetings he had in
the Willard Hotel against Donald Trump were recorded as well because the special counsel seems to have them and they were part of the
appendix that was filed in court just about two weeks ago. Now Steve Bannon
went to jail for four months, short now one week. We thought he'd be in beyond
the election, looks like he's coming out one week before the election or so, for
his two counts of contempt of Congress. He failed to appear and testify
before the Jan 6 committee. He failed to provide documents to the Jan 6 committee and he was
convicted by a jury in the District of Columbia and sentenced by Judge Nichols to jail. And he's
getting out just a week earlier now he says, oh that's a complete repudiation of his bad acts and that the election will
result in a mega win for MAGA and all sorts of other things.
He says he's going to get back on the air on Tuesday on his podcast.
But that's sort of, again, it's a smokescreen.
He might have served his time for this particular crime, but the New York State prosecutors,
the Manhattan DA, have something else to say
about it. And he's looking at between five and twenty years in prison if
convicted by a Manhattan state jury in December. And that trial
should only go about a week according to both parties. Let me kind of connect the
dots here and explain it to you in a way that I think will be a little bit more
understandable.
You might be thinking, well, didn't Steve Bannon get pardoned by Donald Trump several years ago on the last day of the administration related to his role in the Build the Wall Foundation scandal,
where they duped and bilked their donors out of money, telling them that the money would go
to build the wall, and all it did was build their big fat bank accounts. It went into
their own pocket and it went into the pocket of the founder of the foundation, Brian Colfage,
a former wounded veteran who said all the money was going to be going for build the wall and
most of it went for Brian Colfage's lifestyle and that of Steve Bannon as well. That's a fraud.
That is money laundering. That is many things not related to
a legitimate foundation. Colfax is currently serving 51 months in prison for his role in that
scandal. Federally, Bannon was pardoned by Donald Trump for his role before he could go to trial
and on a federal basis. but that doesn't stop the state
prosecutors from bringing cases under state law which are beyond the pardon power of a president,
even one as crazy as Donald Trump. So these are pardon-proof charges and pardon-proof convictions
that will likely be rendered in December. Now the judge in the case, Judge April Newbaum,
gave a little bit of a break to Bannon.
He said, you know, the prosecutors were like,
we wanted to try this case in May,
but we had to wait for him to get out of jail.
She gave Bannon a little bit of a breathing room,
understanding that he would be coming out
sometime in October, or early November,
from his stint in jail, federal jail for his contempt
of Congress, and she figured, all right, he's coming out in mid-October, we'll give him
60 days, and we'll start our trial in December.
So I know the corporate media focus is going to be on, oh, Steve Bannon got out a week
early.
Got out a week early.
He's going back to trial in 60 days. And that trial is really, he thought four
months is going to be kindergarten compared to what this jury and ultimately the judge,
ultimately the judge could sentence him to if the jury convicts. For money laundering in the state
of New York, for fraud and conspiracy, if you add those counts up, you're looking at
between 10 and 20 years. My prediction is he's going to get anywhere between five and ten years
in prison for this. In New York state penitentiary, which is like Attica and places like that,
if he thought he was going to club fed to hang out in a minimum security prison and hang out with Sam Bankman Fried and other people.
Not happening.
Okay.
He's going to a notoriously bad set of state places, starting with Rikers Island, where
he will probably be remanded until he's permanently placed in the New York penitentiary system.
Even if Donald Trump somehow were to pull out a miracle or a nightmare and win the presidency come November and January doesn't help Bannon.

That's how, just to kind of make this complete,
the story complete, that's how Donald Trump
got convicted of 34 felony counts in his own case.
I mean, let's recall that Donald Trump
was not prosecuted for the election interference crimes
related to Stormy Daniels.
The feds, under his control thereafter, decided not to do that. They went after people like Michael
Cohen and put Michael Cohen in jail and others, but they ignored Donald Trump for obvious reasons.
After he left office, after he was kicked out of office by not getting reelected and beaten by Joe Biden,
Donald Trump continued to be investigated by the Manhattan DA's office, then led by Cy Vance and later by Alvin Bragg.
They decided finally to bring charges against Donald Trump and they got that successful 34-count felony conviction.
Donald Trump's gonna be sentenced on his own crimes
November the 26th in New
York by Judge Murchon. My prediction's there it's going to be anywhere between
one in three years in jail. If he wins the presidency that sentence will be
deferred or delayed until after he stops serving as president and then they'll
put him in jail. I mean while ex-presidents are usually busy you know
doing humanitarian
work and working for global peace or working on their presidential library, Donald Trump
could be making toasters and license plates in a New York penitentiary. So keep those
dates in mind. November 26, Donald Trump gets sentenced for 34 felony counts that he was
convicted of by the same prosecutor, different judge.
About two or three weeks later, Steve Bannon, just recently released from federal prison,
starts New York State trial, which should last about a week.
After that, assuming that he's convicted, and I think there's a pretty good chance he's
going to get convicted, then it would be about 90 days later, he would be sentenced. So we're talking about February or
March for him to be sentenced for the New York state crimes. Again, these are not pardonable,
so don't worry about that. Only the governor of the state could pardon him for these crimes,
and the democratic governor of the state is not going to pardon Steve Bannon. So I want to kind
of bring this all full circle so that you have the talking points that you need on the streets when people start whooping it up in MAGA about Bannon
coming out and some crazy talk he does during his podcast. Steve Bannon is also not out of the
crosshairs completely in a federal prosecution. He is part of some of the evidence dump that we
just got from Jack Smith against Donald Trump
put Steve Bannon front and center in the election interference conspiracy.
We had always known that he was in the Willard Hotel on Jan. 4, 5, and 6 helping to plan
the assault on our democracy.
One of the leaders there, but so much more. In the pressure campaign against Mike
Pence, the center of it is Steve Bannon. Now, Steve Bannon refuses to take the stand without immunity.
I mean, he can be compelled to testify if he's given immunity. If he's not given federal immunity
by the prosecutors in an immunity deal, he could take the Fifth Amendment.
And the jury can conclude whatever they
want to conclude from there.
But the thing that I think he needs to be sensitive to,
or we need to be sensitive to, is when I read the data dump
in the appendix, it looked to me like they had recordings.
Somebody had actually recorded, maybe wearing a wire,
some of the conversations in the Willard Hotel
and or with Steve Bannon,
because those comments were in quotes in the appendix.
Like they were lifted directly from a transcript,
directly from some sort of recording device.
And if that's the case, they don't need Steve Bannon.
They just need the person, they just need the recordings.
And I think we're going to see a lot more and hear a lot more about Steve Bannon and his role in the attempted overthrow of our democracy
when the appropriate time comes during trial.
So I'll continue to follow it right here on Midas Touch Network and on Legal AF.
