Starting point is 00:00:27 Benefits vary by card, other conditions apply. And again, Christians get out and vote just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It'll be fixed, it'll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians. I'm a Christian.
Starting point is 00:00:49 I love you. Get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote. This is Michael Popak, Legal AF. You like voting? You like voting in 2024 and 2028?
Starting point is 00:01:02 Then Donald Trump is not your guy because he's just admitted out loud when he was addressing the Christian group that he's trying to get their vote, try to cling to power, try to get restored to power. He's just told them, you only have to vote one more time. Just one more time is all you have to vote. After 2024, you don't have to vote. Why? Because he's arguing and he's signaling that if he gets back in, he'll never
Starting point is 00:01:27 leave and or he'll install a Christian, a Christian, a theocracy over America by dispensing with those aspects of the Constitution, installing Supreme Court justice that support his Christian fervor and reestablish just as Project 2025 wants and predicts dominion over all aspects of US American life imposed top down by a Christian theocracy. There's no other way to interpret it. Take a listen to his clip and you tell me if I'm taking this out of context. Okay, welcome back. Welcome back to democracy. Some people on the internet are saying, well, what if I want to vote?
Starting point is 00:02:11 What do you mean? Now, what I think he was in artfully trying to say, although I'm not even sure myself, was that I'm your best hope for the next four years. Vote for me. You know what I did to impose on this country Christian values and Christian agenda and cram it down everybody's throat and destroy the separation of church and state you always hated and got rid of abortion that you always hated.
Starting point is 00:02:38 And I'm going to do more of those things. And I will do so many more of those things that it will be tantamount to a Christian theocracy in this country and you can then go back to bed. I will be the last candidate you will ever have to support because I will accomplish your agenda all in the next four years. Give me four more years." That's what I think he's trying to say, but that's not how it came out. How it came out was, I'm ending elections after 2024. There will be no need for elections in 2028. I'll just hold it.
Starting point is 00:03:11 I won't leave or I'll give it over to JD Vance, this 39-year-old incomplete, flip-flopping guy who nobody knows who he is, this shapeshifter, this bearded, non-bearded who knows what, he'll get it next. We won't have to vote for him either. I'll just hand it off to him. And then he'll run with the ball for the next four more years. And you'll get that Christian theocracy
Starting point is 00:03:38 you were always looking for. Now listen, I'm not attacking Christian people at all. Everybody has the right to worship the way they please or not worship at all. Or believe that people to worship the way they please or not worship at all or believe that people worshiping the way they please is ridiculous. That's America. That is our country. It's not a theocracy.
Starting point is 00:03:53 People keep saying that the Supreme Court, the founding fathers talked about this as a Christian nation founded on Christian values. Supreme Court says that too. They also knew that they did not want to have a theocracy. They wanted a separation between church and state. That's why it is within the structure of our government, in our Constitution, laid out that way and been interpreted that way. And so now to have Donald Trump stand in front of a microphone, pandering to the people, pandering to who he thinks is his people, in order to get the Christian right. Because let's be frank,
Starting point is 00:04:23 if he doesn't get the Christian right, the right right Christian right, he has no chance of winning. I mean, right now his chances are circling the drain. Let's be fair. I mean, as soon as Kamala announced and people, some of the independents and those under 30 could get out of their head to geriatric candidates as their problem. As soon as that got resolved, then they were like, well, Kennedy's 72 years old. We don't want him either. Who's this 59-year-old, vibrant, qualified, educated, talented vice president? We like her. I mean, look at the voting.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Look at the voting. President Biden was 40 points under performing with under 30 year old voters. They all now in the new polling went to Kamala Harris, like in their entirety. And Trump, who's been trying to chip away at the black voting block, good luck with Kamala Harris, who will be the first black woman president,
Starting point is 00:05:27 black and Indian woman president. But he had spent all of his time and energy trying to get one, two, three, five, 10% from the black vote, which is never going to happen. New polling showed he had 0% of black voters in the Midwest are willing to vote for Donald Trump. I think that's like a statistical impossibility. Zero percent, it could even be greater than that based on the statistics. So he's not gonna get that vote. He'll pick up a couple of points, perhaps,
Starting point is 00:05:56 perhaps on the Latin or Hispanic vote, but the Southeast Asian vote is now overwhelmingly over the Democrats and Kamala Harris. The black vote was always over with the Democrats. They've supported Joe Biden. Joe Biden wouldn't be president of the United States if it wasn't for the black Americans rallying around him coming out of South Carolina. That's a fact. With a growing family, making sure I know everyone in my life is taken care of in case disaster strikes is more crucial than ever.

Starting point is 00:07:50 and I don't mean to pray, with his Christian right group voting block to get every last ounce of that. He can't afford any leakage from the Christian right voting block. Because if he does, Kamala's win is going to be even bigger. Okay, it's going to be we were talking two weeks ago, not on the Midas Touch Network, but in general, the media was talking about maybe a landslide. The Republicans were jumping up and
Starting point is 00:08:19 down after Pennsylvania, moments after whatever happened in Pennsylvania happened, saying that not only would it be a bump for Donald Trump, the election was over. Crowd him now. It's done. And I kept telling people even before President Biden made that historic decision to be a patriot and do what he decided to do and turn it over to Kamala Harris and let her run with the torch to continue an Olympic thematic here. When I saw all of that, I said, this is July. This is July. You don't win, I'm a baseball fan, you don't win the World Series in July. You win it in, well now it used
Starting point is 00:09:02 to be October, but you win it in November. I'm a Yankee fan. We were riding high before July. The calendar struck July. We may not make the playoffs now. Same thing. July is not the, that's why they don't call it a July surprise. They call it an October surprise because things that happen right near the election can have an impact.
Starting point is 00:09:25 But things that happened three, four months before and then get completely tidal waved over by what the Democrats did, thumbs up on that, there's no bounce as I've said to people here in the Midas Touch Network. And in a convention bounce for Trump and Mar-a-Lago cannon bounce and whatever happened in Pennsylvania bounce and three days after she announced that she was running Kamala Harris is neck and neck or above Donald Trump. They are, if they're tied, they're tied because they're moving in the opposite direction. Sorry, I had my hands going the wrong way.
Starting point is 00:10:04 One's going down and the other one's going up and they're kind of meeting in the middle for right now. And these kind of statements, while they may be pandering by Donald Trump to install a Christian theocracy and avoid future voting in our democracy, it's not going to get him, it's not going to wring out more Christian votes and it's going to lose him votes on everybody else. Just as comments made by his vice president, who I've said this on a prior hot take, don't evaluate JD Vance as a vice president only. The office of the president for the last four or five presidents has basically been co-presidents.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Gore and Clinton, Obama and Biden, Biden and Harris, they were like co-presidents. The last time we had a real traditional do nothing vice president, no nothing vice president was probably Dan Quayle. After that, they're all sort of partners in this. That's why Kamala is so ready. And so you got to look at, especially with an 80 whatever your old Trump's going to be in office, if you ever got back to the White House, you got to look at JD Vance and say, you're not evaluating him for maybe, maybe he could be a 39 year old president who's not qualified and wrote half a book and did nothing in the Senate because he was only there for months. You got to think this is
Starting point is 00:11:31 the guy that Trump says could be president today because the chances of Donald Trump surviving, living, not retiring, not resigning or whatever during his entire four years is not happening. So if you vote for Trump, forget Trump. It's like the Wizard of Oz. Look at the other guy. You're voting for JD Vance for president. And so his thoughts and his opinions on things matter. And so we know that JD Vance, even though he's Hindu, is going to support the Christian right. Now the Christian right just waking up and realizing that JD Vance converted to Hinduism is married to an Indian American woman
Starting point is 00:12:10 and is a vegetarian. It's fine in our party. Like I said in a prior hot take, the old JD Vance, the old version of Coke, JD Vance 1.0 with no beard, 2016, criticizing Donald Trump saying he'd never vote for him, having a friend who's transgender, that seemed fine to me. I was trying to figure out how he got into the Republican Party. But now you hear it. And so if they don't get this block, but every
Starting point is 00:12:38 extra Christian right they get with statements about reinstalling a Christian theocracy and eliminating our Constitution and our right to vote is one less vote on the other side of the ledger. That's how this works. We'll continue to follow statements made by Donald Trump and what it means in the grand legal political landscape on Legal AF and on the Midas Touch Network. Follow Legal AF, the podcast, Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 p.m. Eastern Time. We curate the top four or five stories at the intersection of law and politics. We bring it to you right here, right now, uncensored, unfiltered, just for you. If you like what I'm doing, leave me a thumbs up and a comment. Sometimes
Starting point is 00:13:17 I respond to it and we can open a dialogue. So until my next hot take, until my next Legal AF, this is Michael Popok reporting.
