Welcome to Legends of Evantris. I'm Iris and you're listening to Beneath Dark Wings. Here's what happened last time. Perhaps maybe you knew about the location of the pieces of the road of law. I do believe that Zern is a good person. And if he truly wants to set things right, then a man like Zern would be looking for this thing. We have much to discuss.

Hi, General Vern. I believe the only way to stop, whatever it is, the bullmen are doing, Mr. She'll find this relicant. The Windducks are the only ones that can stop the chain god. There is indeed a rod. A strange piece of a metal staff, they said. Well, we were prepared to lay for ground in the morning.

Did you find anything out about what happened to the children that were taken? I have no information on your brother. You eventually make your way under the cover of night into Grand. As you reach into your pack, And you pull out the wings of freedom, and they are flashing and glowing. You were all standing on top of a rock formation that looks out into a large sweeping stretch of plains, hills and mountains all around you. You see bits of villages and fog. farmland, but the furthest stretching, a bit of the point on the horizon you can see is just the wake of the

Horn Legion. The grass, the crops, the buildings, the bodies have all been trampled under hoof as you see it marching north and marching east, as you all feel at the exact same time, the pinging. of those medallions that Ravali Free Wing had given you. What do you do? Does he, do we just hear the paint? We don't like, correct. Does it communicate to us with it, right?

Correct. At least as far as what you're, he's only activated like once and it was very brief and you just basically got a ping. But you haven't, it's never been like verbal communication. Can we, can we, uh, can we, uh, can we, uh, pink back? Do we just like squeeze it? I don't know how this works. Is he, is he?

Let's go. You look around, and you look all over for it, and you see the large swath of bodies, and you can see bodies. They're not humans. They're humanoid. They're deep, greenish, grayish, blueish skin, armored weapons splintered and cast aside.

You see the bodies of orcs. You see the bodies of several white-ford beasts amidst the carnage far off. However, as you feel the ping, toe, you're looking around, but there is, you don't see him. However, you feel a bit of a pull in the direction, directionality of your medallion as it points slightly to the northwest. and you see off alongside a

large ridge and cliffside a far off into the distance a lake a large lake you can just see barely several buildings

dotting the shore and smoke rising this is pointed to him he's right up there and you're all able to see this easily enough Oh, yeah.

Is this on the other side of Grand? Where in relation to Grand is this area? So you, so basically you all came up on like the southwestern side. Okay. And Baphomet basically came around as curving up north and then heading east. Okay. And so you're like about here. You see the wake of devastation.

And then he's like about here, like not in the direct devastation line. Okay. But in a seemingly towards a village on a lake. Okay. Near, near that swath of just a trampled ground. Okay. What do we know about Gromt? Do any of us know anything about the...

Oh, something to get a history check. At advantage, because you were taught about this. Can I assist him about that? Yeah. History is going to be a 25. 25. You know that Gronde is a kingdom of orcs. And for centuries.

They had been disparate tribes that had been very huge nuisances for Korovacia, but they were savage, they were chaotic, they weren't organized. They were relatively easily able to be pushed back. And there was a period of time where the Korovacian military had occupied a great amount of grant. and then one warlord rose decades ago and the dancing blade clan rose up and united all of the disparate clans and this warlord became a war chief and pushed back Corvaccia to its borders

to where they wore to this day over the precious ghost iron and mithril resources. in the mountains that separate the two nations. And you know that it is a kingdom wooled by a war chief. Okay. And yeah, but it basically almost in two or two or three generations, their entire society and civilization had completely changed to being regimented,

organized, orderly. Shall we go? Does Felix relay any of that? Of course I do. I tell them everything. Okay. What do I think it means dancing blade? I honestly don't know

I mean I imagine it's some sort of style of combat Or maybe it describes magics that they might be able to use But beyond that I wasn't talking anything about that Hmm How out of the way would going to the work bodies be I would say you would probably need to cross it You would see to cross the utter devastation

In order to get to where you're going We should move as quickly as possible Ravali though Yes in case he's in danger We should just follow this thing And then we'll start heading towards the little village. And then once we approach all the bodies, I'd like to kind of try to see if we can understand how they were killed,

get a sense of like what happened. Okay. You make your way down. And in merely an hour, you arrived to the massive swath of carnage, the remnants of a battle who days old, as you see bodies strewn about what may have been in a village

completely burned down, destroyed. And you see bodies as far as you can see across this trampled, charred earth. And you see these up close, these orc bodies, you've all probably heard of orcs from some of you may have studied, and they, they are clearly orcs.

They have large lower jaws, pointed ears, a deep jadish-green skin, tusks, each one of them. Men and women and some children have nose rings. And however, at the chin of each of these orcs, you see two fleshy tendrils extended out from each of them, which is a feature that none of you would have presumed an oak to have anything that you had heard. And amidst the battle, you see not just

orc bodies, but also dozens of goatmen, a few centaurs, a minotaur here and there. Many of the Horn Legion were slain, but it's clear just by the sheer stretch of trampled earth, how massive this horde is. And you don't even need a roll perception check. You can see throughout the entire swath. every five or ten feet or so, a massive movement in the ground. And amidst this carnage, you also see the white fur creatures. You see beasts.

You had seen saber-tooth tigers before used by the ogres. And these look to be similar about the same size, massive beasts, but white fur with black stripes as armored white tigers, some with saddles, others a lot more heavily armored, lay slain as well. And you see one body, much larger, white fur, no stripes. And as you approach, you see that there are large horns. You're a little bit hesitant, as you know that the horns were of the Horn Legion. But you approach and you see almost a large, massive Simeon creature,

bluish flesh with shaggy white fur. As you pull it over, you see its massive tongue lulls out as massive jaws and fangs. are rotting as the flies swarm around it. What is this? This is terrible. It's what it is. Can we scan the horizon since there's any survivors or even like any of the... I would say make a perception check.

That was almost a dirty 20. 10. 10. You look around and it is just card. This battle is days old. There was no one, anyone... I would say that with that you could probably get the sense that there were those that were able to flee. There are the remnants of...

of those that have maybe been able to escape, but there was no one left to clean up this battle. And it's long past end. This is awful. Hmm. Do we think that the orcs were fighting against the Beastmen? Yeah, and shows that they were. This is probably some kind of border patrol.

They just traveled right over their land. Well, I'm just wondering, but given that core of Arccia, the enemies of these old people, but maybe they could be allies against the whole Baphimuth. I think we're going to need everybody that we can get. I don't know how we're going to stop this,

even if we catch up to them. Would it be worth attacking you their word chief? Could be kill them with some kindness? Because enemy of your enemy is your friend, right? That's if they don't attack us on site. I'm sure they wouldn't be trusting of us, especially with the tensions between with them and Corvacia.

Or Zentra, I just, I think it's worth trying to gather allies. I just don't think they'll trust us, at least not immediately. Well, I mean, the Eric Rokin trust us either, but look what we were able to accomplish. Go ahead. Hopefully, Captain Freewing has learned more and he can maybe inform us. He's been here for, how long has he been here? A while, right? He's been weeks or months.

I think that's our first course of action. I think we have to find him first. If he's had any contact with him, then maybe that's our inn. We should go. As we've been talking, I'm looking closely at the battlefield of the Orkmen, the fallen soldiers. I'm trying to get a sense if by the patterns of paint or their garb, some idea of if there's any sort of a hierarchy of rank. And if just to get a sense of if, you know, they have the equivalent like the little upside down, what are they called, the insignia that they have on the Army's...

Oh, yeah, generals. Like, 1V for private, 2 V for... Make a history check for me. Okay, that's not where I'm like that. You said it. I mean, it's not just soldiers. It's women and children. There seem to be some civilians, but predominantly it seems to be...

It seems like there was a village here at some point that was basically deleted off of the face of the actress. Got it. How far from the border are we at this point? You're decently into the kingdom now. Yeah. You've been traveling for a while. But it's been basically wilderness. You've seen bits and pieces of civilization, but this far out, this close to the border,

you've basically been avoiding the border more, but you see that for a lot of the border with the Horn Legion smashing through has pulled back quite a bit. I think I'm congratulately obligated to say that I'm looking at the Orch men and also the Ork Women and the Ork Children. But also I get a 12. I would say that you're not able to discern rank. there are varying styles of armor. But as you can see, the metal of what the armor and the weapons are made out of them seem very unique.

They shimmer with almost this whiteish silver. And the style, the design, they're also adorned with swooping decoration and flicks of gold. Anything that you would imagine an orc to wear is not at all this. And I would say that from your experience in Zentra, you see this style, it doesn't seem to be orcish. It doesn't seem to be even from Striga. It seems to be a style that you maybe have seen from stores or individuals from Yulong. Hmm. Having no successful results catch up in the group and continue on our way towards Ravioli.

Okay. You all make your way, and you see a small, dirt. road. And it seems to have been, you see a village now, a spreading out around the lake, around this large cliff face. You see a river running up to the mountains, a waterfall pouring into the lake. And you see a farming, what looks like a farming village, a small dirt road making its way up towards it. You see large fields with actual crop, tall stalks of barley, bits of greenery from perhaps some sort of root vegetables being grown. You see that there are large wooden pens that have been cleared,

but you actually hear the panicked bleeding of a goat as you approach, but you see no signs of life in this city, in this village. You approach, and then you see, as you get closer and closer, the building's a very modest wooden village no more really than huts as you see a wooden sign on with a a sloped decorative um top who here speaks workish tell me that's one of the ones i don't have do not have it that's one of the ones you know that's one of the ones i don't have okay Copy-Anguages. You see,

it takes the fun of it. You see that there is a bit of a orchish written on it, but it's tilted. And it's a little bit off kilter. As you approach, you now start to see that where there's a farm, that there are, some patches have been disturbed. Some of the doors have been smashed off their hinges. You make your way through and you see the source of the smoke. a building far off to the bat, what seems to have been a granary, is burning not completely

an inferno, but maybe an oil lamp had tipped over and it's burning, but the whole town seemed deserted. And as you look around, you can see very clearly hoof prints, as far as you can see. And many doors you now see have been smashed off their hinges. They lay in this road as you make your way through the town. And I need to make a good perception jump further. Could anyone read that sign back there? No, cool.

Not down. Six. Probably just said farm, but maybe it said $100. You said perception? 19. 19? 20. 20?

18. 18. 12. Iris Felotin Toa, you notice, as you look around. That the way that these doors have been smashed seems strange. It seems as they've been smashed from the inside. side out. As you see the hook prints leaving from these buildings, some straight from the fields, and Iris, you're the only one that sees this. You see off by the waterfall a number of shapes

shapes moving towards the waterfall, and they seem to be sniffing around. And as you look further, It's very far off. You see, with your cat eyes, look like large muscular whorks, but with dark black hair and small horns as they sniff around and they begin to make their way towards the waterfall. This is an absolute tragedy. There's a gorgeous waterfall towards the other end. Probably sufficient and luxurious bathing. and being overrun horrific, orkish, corned creatures. Over there?

Yes, where the waterfall is. You want we should clear out them orc, so you can bathe in the waterfall? Is that what it is? Oh, I want very much. You take a look, and you pull it up as your little emblem points directly towards the waterfall.

I think we should probably go over there. Is it pinging more frequently, like we're getting closer, or is that just still the general direction? Because it could be like, well beyond the waterfall, right? Do I get any sense of, You get the sense that it's lighting up and buzzing, but still giving you a bit of around around.

Have you guys played... I actually know, it is pulsing a little bit more. Have you guys played Breath of the Wild? It's basically the Shrine tracker from Breath of the Wild, but without the map. You said there was a goat nearby that was bleeding? You look around and you see that there are a few, there's actually a barn and a stable on a pen, and you see that there are a few slain animals. You see several yaks.

you see some hauls and some goats. There's one that is tied to a fence post. Shaggy gray fur, eyes wide, large horns reaching up to the sky as it's looking around wildly and terrified as it's still trying to pull.

It looks exhausted. It was trying to pull away. Hold on. Hold on. This is important for removal. I'm going to approach the panic to go. I think we're about to have dinner. Very, very Jurassic style. Jurassic style. It's okay there, bud. It's okay.

I'm not going to hurt you. I'm going to set you free. Make an antlyandling, Chuck. Okay. Oh, 14. 14? Oh, very good. 14.

It looks at you very suspiciously as it is pulling away from its rope, but it does not immediately button you. Great. And I will just like gently turn, like, behind it and try it and, like, loosen the... I would say it is not very difficult for you to do that.

And as soon as you do that, and immediately, bolts in the other direction and it starts just sprinting north. Anyone hungry for go? Be safe, watch for deer. And I'll join up with them. All right.

Well, I guess we're just going to let it go. Well, yeah, we're going to let it go. This is fucking terrified. Do you understand that that meat is probably not even all that good? All those stress hormones that got released into that creature? You know what I'm saying? We could have fed him up and milk is a real... I'm going to have to sit here and listen to this level's core.

When I give you over the bathing, excuse me we have to get to Revali indeed who cares about Ravoli? There is a waterfall with my name of it we've been traveling for weeks

We're not going to I'm not going to sprint but I'll have Power walk, everybody. I'm going to house a hustling. Are we trying to be quiet or no? All right, let's be hot. I'm not as. As you all begin to

rush towards the waterfall, you see them all, you see one, two, three, four, seven in total. Orcs that have been changed. And this is unmistakable to all of you.

This is the results of beast plague. As these creatures are sniffing, around, their eyes wide and mad, as they disappear behind the waterfall. Oh, oh my God, they probably peed it. They're a swelling, waterfall. I wouldn't take a beer. And as you continue to rush, as you manage to actually catch up, you hear the roaring of the

waterfall, you begin to mess as you run alongside this large cliffside. There's enough stretch of this amber grass. it looks over to this actually relatively beautiful and serene-like, but then you hear that, and then suddenly a roar as you all hear a roar echoing from what seems to be a cave behind the roaring waterfall.

You're right outside. There is probably a very well-tended and immaculate sonar behind the trotel. What other reason would there be a cave? You know, it's just kind of like the natural landscape. Of course it's not. Well,

I'm wondering, maybe we should just make a lot of noise and draws them back out here. Captain Freelig, I'm coming! Off-na. Toa, you rush in, and you see... I'll run after him. You rush in,

as you see seven forks. They are poking muscular, same tendles on their chin, but horn is starting to sprout, some black fur starting to grow from their skin. Their feet changed from feet to hoofs.

As they begin to grow, some are growing tails, some are bulging in their skull, and you see one at the back, larger than the others, an actual full set of horns, and is letting out some low guttural whore almost communicating with it. As you see that there is a, in this cave that opens up.

It's not very large, but you see that there is a bit of a precipice to the far back, and you see a crumpled mass of clothing, blood, and flesh. As these beasts begin to charge at it, and then as soon as you all rush in, they turn to look at you and they're all finished it.

Yeah. If they're off business. This one or the... The one close to do. Oh. Hey, you fucks, get over here. Oh, I'm in damage. Don't tell me until I place everything down.

But da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. It's putting in your mouth. You brought the fucking mouth, thank you. Hey, Mike, what's this area made up? This is stone. Oh, I love that. It's a rock. Uh, well...

they charge you, you see that these are and these don't seem to have been the armored warrior orcs that you had seen before. They're in simple farming. Oh, fuck. as they're in simple farming clothes.

We're not kidding. And there are men and women along the midst of these people and they begin to charge. Caprice, you're up, what are you doing? I'm going to look at the big boy and go, oh, hey, hey, hey,

why not attack everybody? I'll cast enemies abound. Okay. He wants to make an intelligent saving pro, number one, big fella. What is this? What happens to be? Image.

He can repeat it. He got a nine? Oh, I got us to put a number. He fails. So I reach into his mind with my magical Bartley powers. And, oh, it automatically succeeds if it's immune to frighten.

What? Is it immune to frighten? Okay. Then making sure, we've got to be honest about this out. Maintain game safe. Whenever the affected creature chooses another creature as a target, it must choose that target at random.

from among the creatures that can see within the range of its attack, spells, or other abilities that they can use. And if an enemy provokes an opportunity attack from the affected creature, it must make that attack. Okay. So one is in range of his melee attack. Yes. Got it.

And so he is going to make an attack on the guy that he's next to. Correct. And I'll move over here to the corner. It's a little drier over here. You see, he has actually, at his side, despite this, they all have. weapon. They also need the arm as they are going to, he easily cleaves into the, what number is he next to? He's number five. He slices into him. He only is one attack, not a full tag action. That's a great question. That is a great question. And it's whenever the effective chooses another

creature of the target. So it's like all attacks, everything that you would target with. So it's not an immediate? No, no, so it's like on his turn. If he used to make an attack, it's going to be random. So you cast the spell, you do a little ditty on your violin. You see his eyes sort of shift in his wild, but now he looks at all of his contains with whom he had been doing some kind of commanding to. Now it looks around suspiciously. And he'll look hatred.

And then he begins to attack. And with that, they are going to, does he view his friends as hostile? Yes. Yeah, basically everybody is an enemy to him now. So if he wants to attack. And he has to choose one at random. Okay, it is their turn. So they're going to go, but he's going to get an opportunity attack on number one.

Number five here? Yeah, number five is going to get an opportunity attack. And so that hits. And that is more than a bit of... I don't think they treat him like an enemy. No, they don't. He's running away, and he's using his reaction to... He has to use his reaction.

And so with that... Oh, I misunderstood who was moving. I'm sorry. I thought you said number one was meeting first. He leaves into his back. Yeah, they're going to all sprint. What's their movement means? My plan is ruined.

My disappointment is immeasurable. And so I did. I feel like this happens every time we get the combat. If I only rolled a little higher, it would have been a fantastic, beautiful play. Now I just get to save it. I'll tuck it in my back pocket. They are going to bring two attacks. Then you see that these have longs in the cave, man.

And he makes two attacks on you, Caprice. Oh. Oh, shit. One is only a seven. Wow, they're both sevens. Okay. You man is a dog. out of the way. Hey, hey. This is an disadvantage on Lifty. One's natural one. Okay.

Double 18 plus, yeah, no, that's just one in 400. Yeah, double 18s. Very nice. And it slices into you. One of 20. Come on 20. One. What the fuck is my 10s? God, why is my hip points alone? What is your hit point? 16 points of slashing damage. Is it cleaves true? Reaction. Reduce it by seven. Oh, good, really. So what is that?

11. Nine. Nine. Okay. And then we're going to get... We're going to get one on Hurt, two attacks on Hercja. Okay. 22 AC.

22 exactly. And a mess. What do you clash off of one? Ah, fuck. Oh, fuck. Then you take 11 points of slashing damage. As he hits you with the... And he's just slavering.

And then we're gonna get another hit on Lifty because it's not a disadvantage anymore. So two attacks on Lifty. And what? It was almost a natural 20, but oh, both of these hit as a one, two, as a slice. Can I impose disadvantage on one of those attacks? With my reaction for Shieldmaster? And that misses. So only one is going to hit.

And it cleaves into 11 points of slashing damage on ULFty. And then we're going to get four attacks on Toa. These aren't like disadvantaged. No. I've done anything. I'm going to say to do four straight attacks then. Natural 20. No, it's not.

Yeah, I figured it's not. Yeah, I figured he said. So chiving on the cases. Two are going to hit. Two are going to hit. All right. They clive into you. They clive into me.

Oh, that cliff comment from last session? It was hysterical. 11. 14. Oh, really. It's a cliff of me. And I'm not raising yet. 21 points of slashing damage as they both hit you.

And that's the truth. Both them. So for the first time ever, we've met enemies dumb enough to line up. And I'm going to lightning pull up. Yes. Didn't they're wishing place to them. That's going to be DC Dex. Okay, we're just going down the horn here.

Can you read it off three? No, go ahead. Playwright. Oh, no. I just hold up the dagger and it starts to like crackle and pull it. and then it shoots out lightning through all of them. And I guess I don't hit two because it's a five-foot wide line. So, three, fails.

What's the D-Sys? 17. Dex. Four. Four, fails. Five. Failed. Fails.

Fails. Fails. Fills. Fills. 18. Succeeds. Okay. So five passes.

Five pass. 35 points of damage. Thirty-five points of damage to three, four, one, six. Everyone except four. What are these fives and sixes? They don't fuck around, man. I'm gonna keep track of all these is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna sub about your 20s while you're sleeping?

No, good luck. I sleep with one eye over the mouth. So 34 is 17. Yes. Big money. As your crackle, your dagger crackles with electricity as you point out your finger at only the one at the edge who's on alert after getting cleat in the back by his own commander it seems, his own chiefdom, is on alert, is able to dodge, but it still gets sacked.

They're all frying, the sizzling of this dark hair. It's a putrid fucking smell. I feel so bad. And you see that they are gone. And there is a, as you look into their eyes, there's almost a kind of like sadness in them behind the savagery. And with that, it is Toa's turn. I am going to bonus action, drop down to my battle trance.

Maybe my tattoos will glow a little bit. I don't know. and then I will attack twice we'll see how it goes one crit one is a sorry actions you see Toa drop down

he starts chanting as you start to see the spiritual swirling of a shark a moa, a turl and a boar swirl around him and the tattoos not just of the patterns but also the adventures that he's had so far begin to glow and light up as he smashes his mall. Holy shit.

So, both hit. One is a crit. I do not draw Twin Furee. To number three. To blind him. One of these days someone will get us off Iris and she will decide their trip. Five, because I have Google critical.

The other one's normal hit. Oh, no. Tattoes. That's a lot of fucking... 10, 20, 29, 30, 31. So, 31 plus 24.

You see his nose. nose ring is smattered, smash as his nose is cracked, and it's still a new patron as you have your ball down, cracking its skull, killing it. Did he get some damage? As she screamed. there's blood in your vision all around. And suddenly the vision shifts, the voice shifts. It sounds like Herja. As the face shifts, blood, Herge's face. She's screaming in agony. She is dying. As the vision fades,

the light of the image shrinks into a single ball and separates. It opens to two narrow slits As a shapely feminine silhouette Emerges Slithers around you Horns similar Almost identical to yours I'm so proud of you Caprician

And she waves her long silhouette fingers. And a flash of red, you see a contract up here in embers. It's all scratched out infernal. You can barely make it out. But you see the souls of the DeCesta line. You see a large signature, Massimo de Sesto. And then it shifts and merges and storms Capricio de Sesto. And on the other side, it just simply says Glacio.

Do you want to be free of this, Capricio? I think you know the answer to that question. Well, I'm so glad you said that. Because I think that we can come to an arrangement. And it rolls back up before we can get to catch everything that it says. You did such a good job with little MoLock. But you and I both know he's chump change. You know the Big Bad Bull?

He's still coming for me, right? He's coming for you? Oh, do you think the plan has changed? He's coming for me. He's coming for my circle. I think, I'm weak. You need to kill him. Send him back from once he came.

A woman, but of beauty, but of horrific, horrific evil. You see wide eyes, pale pink skin, not a shade not dissimilar to yours, black horns, exactly like yours, a whipping tail, heaving bosom. But there's a putrid disgustingness to us, as her eyes rage before whipping back into a silhouette. You don't know what I can and can't do. You get me the rod. And then maybe we can have a conversation if you don't want to be free.

Do you understand me, Capricch? I do. I do. You can do this any time. Everyone always thinks that they need to go to Daddy for the heavy contracts. But I am fine enough, Capriccio. Let me think about it. I'm not going to promise anything right now.
