Welcome to Legends of Aventrous. I'm Felix Ackerman, and you're listening to Beneath Dark Wings. Here's what happened last time. Last time on Beneath Dark Wings two months ago, I'll be thorough here. You all had been tricked, I believe, by Major Domo Brutus, the gargoyle servant of Escher, Kreskov. You were all attacked by gargoyles with strange alchemical contraptions. that were attempting to basically lock you in instant ceiling, breathable crystal basically,

crystal goo. You got slimed. I kept getting sick to hell. Yeah, you got sitting down. You got sucked to hell. To be then imprisoned in an anti-magic field. To wait out at the end of the world effectively. And it was you were able to kill the gargoyles

and eventually escape, tricking Brutus along the way, then raiding Escher's private study, where you then saw strange sketches and plans about Zentra, the Citadel of the King's conclave, seemingly being important with a portal opening up seemingly from an eclipse that was imminent. Leaving, you then left, do you leave Brutus tied up? Yeah, I think you did.

Yeah, he tied up. So he's tied up. He deserves that. He does deserve it. Yeah. So, leaving Brutus tied up, you made your way back to Borovia. But you had learned that seemingly Escher was on his way to the castle. And by the time you got back from your teleportation spell, thank goodness, you were

you encountered a massacre of sorts. Escher had tricked Milo into letting him into his bedroom by looking like a cool bird guy. And he snuck through, avoiding civilians, but slaying the guards that stood in his way, as he made his way to the cathedral and fought a duel with Alexei Von Zarovich, winning with the incredible demonic

power that he is infused with now. And he then stole the hairpiece of Shredaania von Zarabitch. Zanzarovich. What a bitch. Von Zaravich where that all the pieces had been effectively reclaimed, containing great power from the Raven Queen, seemingly going to be utilized in order to help heal Pizzouzuzu from the terrible curse

that had been put on in the last act of defiance from Virgil Zern. He then disappeared into feathers, and although he had mortally wounded, Alexei von Zarvich, Iris was able to save his life and prevent him from turning into a terrible demon. And what are you laughing about? This is Derek's card.

It's his antiques made daily. Last time. I didn't mean to do that. It was all right. It was fucking madder. Um... You then made your way into, oh, you attempted to communicate with General Paradiso, who you had warned about the strange demonic threat that's Zern was dead and that there was a problem.

And she said she would alert the high general. And seeming that it was strange, you then teleported to her office. It was barred off, guarded, and searched. And you unfortunately learned too late as you saw a great crowd of people burning effigies. And there was a gallows erected in the little square area. before the Citadel, the hanging corpses of all of the remaining generals. And it was confirmed that General Bradley Furman had accused them of treason and committing a coup

and treason from Virgil Zern and had eliminated all of the eyes, eliminate all of the generals, and had arisen to high general status and taking full power. It also led to my favorite moment, which was when we were in her office. and there were guards stationed outside of her office, and they asked, how did you get in there? And Capriese said, how did you get out there? That's a stupid question. And we confused them so badly that we walked right out.

Yeah, they should have hired better guards. How did you get in there? How did you get out there? That's a good question. Stupid question. And then through some trickery and deception, you made your way to the high jet, formerly Zern's office where you had slain Diomante Cujada, the treacherous eye of secrets.

Yeah. He was the spymaster, and there stationed were six guards, but heavily helmeted, and something strange was off about them. You were welcomed in, and Bradley Furman, you discussed with him, and he shortly revealed that he could see through all of your disguises with his demon eye behind his eyepatch, that he had also made a deal with Pizzou, that both Zern and Furman were stationed at that watchtower and the mountains of Gron. And both of them had seen the statue.

And in that same battle, when Furman lost his eye, He called the Pompazuzu as well. But unlike Zern, who was attempting to outsmart the demon lord, Furman is a true loyalist. He's truly loyal to his master. And he offered you power as the floor gave out and became essentially a gigantic elevator downwards to the depths beneath the citadel of the Queen's conclave.

You know that the depths down here had been allegedly the goal of Baphomet and Moloch, as allegedly they had thought that there was a portal to the sixth layer of hell where they could then invade and oppose Glazia, and Moloch could once again return to his throne. But seeing that it was not connected to the hells, but instead the abyss and the power of the demons

and the power of Pizzou, you were offered a choice, to ascend to be the all of you the six wings of oh my discord is on my laptop I'm just discord in discord well throughout the entire session if you hear any porn sounds I'm sorry of this, let me close out of this. If somebody order a pizza. Extra sausage.

Ah, I didn't look at this. I don't have a dishwasher. Miao, mowl, mow, okay. I don't have enough money to pay any of you. What else happened? Oh, and so you all declined. You could ascend to the six wings of Pasriel, the personal baller generals of Pizzou.

And he gave you the opportunity as he and his guards were about to make their ascension. And your cooperation would determine what kind of ascension the people of Corvacia would have as well. We remembered our training in school, just say no to demonic powers. Exactly right. Just say no unless it is as,

oh, demonic powers, devilish powers, fine. That's a different lesson. I didn't make it to school that day. And it was in this moment that Furman revealed his horrific orange demonic eye as he accepted the ascension knowing that you would not, none of you would ascend with him. And hearing the shrieking screams of the city above you, even this far beneath the earth, and hearing the sound of Zentra turning, so does the High General and all of his guards as the General himself ascended to Ballor status

and his personal guards turn into horrible vulture of vrock, demonic rocks, which you fought before. And combat is about to begin. And with that, thank you so much for the follows. Thank you, Josiah. Meyer. Mayor, Meyer. 25.

Standing within the depths of the citadel of the Queen's Conclave, deep beneath the city of Zentra, as demonic fiendish magic swirls and surges all around you, you hear all above you the shrieks of Zentra, as they are surely being transformed into horrific demonic abominations, as does General Furman and the six personal royal guards, as you see the massive leathery, feathery wings of Furman stretch around you as he is horned, not unlike a bull,

but with strange bird-like features. Not too difficult. similar to what you had seen overcome Escher. As smoke and shadow and fire wreath him in his massive blazing sword and pronged whip, he lets out a shrieking bellow as do his guards transformed into horrible demons. You have rejected the Ascension, and so you must be killed.

I need everyone to roll for initiative. Here it goes. Yeah, a fine advantage. Yeah, that sounds about right. Yeah. Can you place these on the inner part, not in the big circles, but on the inner part of around the party? What is our, what is our perficcienki bonus? Afi yiki. Yeah, our perficci yanki bonus. This is an elevator that we came down. Yeah, that's yellow. So like if we step off of that, we're not going to plummet to our. No, no, there are stairs going down. So you were meant, and so there's a big alchemical. No, no, so you've got to be very careful. Okay. There's actually a big yellow stripe.

Are the ADA accessible and regulation? I don't descend steps without handrails. It's very unsafe. The real big bad is OSHA. That's actually, yeah, that's very true. So we're stuck in the middle. We can't get to these. Oh, so those are the glowing alchemical ruins all around.

So you're not stuck. So basically you are surrounded by Vrock. So there was an outer ring of the... What's the wattage on those glowing rooms? And there are no wots in a ventras. It's like there's no zippers. Um, excuse me, Mike, but I'm pretty sure in episode 21, you said there were zippers. No, there are cypers, actually.

Um, okay. I will, uh, as we are, it's, this is a very, uh, classic act. Wow, look at that fucking, I just saw the fucking mini. That's not really mini. Yeah. Uh, holy shit. It's a large. It's quite large. Um, okay.

This is perfect. I mean, I can see they can visually, visualize this perfectly. We all have our backs to each other. Yeah. You're all surrounded. The cameras panning around all of us in a circle as we assess the situation. And I say, okay, guys, this is it.

Everybody stick together, and we got this. And I will clap my hand to my dagger. I begin to blow, blow, blow. I begin to glow blue and shimmer. And cast, I cast, I forgot the name of the spell. Mirror image? I do. you're in there.

They're not four of me. Yeah, okay. So there's more felices that are appearing, and it's hard to get a sense of which one is which. And with that, it is the Vrock's turn. All of them are going to take off. They flap their wings. They let out a horrific shriek.

All of these losing their humanity entirely. You can see that Furman's eye in his demonic form is larger. and it still has that strange, horrific avian look to it. And he seems to have the same level of sentience. But these are now just horrific demonic creatures as they all lunge towards you. So they're all just gonna all just surround you basically

and crash into you. If you don't mind, yep. The first one is going to let open its beak and let out a horrific, stunning shriek. I mean, everyone to make a constitution saving thriftly. Oh, boy. Really. Get into it.

I'm fine. It's starting off strong here, yeah. The Constitution, oh, I'm a Viking. I'll still roll one, don't worry. Maybe the DC's love. That would be fun, wouldn't it? How badly could we need to toast? I forgot how much I love these.

God damn, but... We only have a very small handful of tools. Do we know what? Do we know, like, how bad this concentration is there could be? Okay. Uh, I would say it's an opener. It's an opener. It says, I would twist it.

I'm worried I'm gonna get it. I mean, like, I'm not concentrating on anything yet, but like. I would like to twist as well. My cons plus eight. My saves plus eight, so it's like, I feel like I can definitely hit it. But, you know, I'm willing to take one through the two. No, I think that- It's fine to use your twist early.

It's when you shouldn't go down it. It hurts the rest of the team. We're, pull out three twists. Yeah. Oh God. And Chad has already been extremely generous. We're safe because of their love. There we go.

It was not meant to be. Iris, fate. Your ears are ringing as you hear this vulture-like shriek from one, as you are stunned and dazed. and you're starting until the end of the rocks next turn. And you see as two more on either side flanking you, breathe and they extend their wings and you see these horrible fungus-like spores

erupt and emerge and blast towards you. It doesn't look too dissimilar to the same kind of pestilent magic that Zern had been using against against Moloch. And I need all of you, once again, to make a Consum saving throw. Oh, I'm glad we'd have spent all that. As a stunned person, do I automatically fail?

No, no. No, yeah. Gotta be kidding me. 21. Okay, it's against poison if that makes a difference for any, if there are any dwarfs here. Oh, not a dwarf. Thank the Lord.

I got my third five in a row. Okay, we're getting a medal away early. Yeah. We're getting a metal away early. Okay. Ten. Was that? 10? 21.

19? 19. 22. 22? I got my third five. Oh, Roger that. Wow. Both of you are now poisoned

as the spores seep into you and you now take seven points of poison damage as you start to see now these strange little spores start to grow all over iris and Toa's skins as they seep into you. Um, and, and da da da da da da,

and then, We are then going, so that means that three of them have attacked. Three are going to attack. One is obviously on Iris because she is stunned. Sure. Two attacks. We're going to do the beak attack first. That is a natural 20.

Yes, it is. I can't do anything because I'm stunned. Okay, Roger that. The beak just shreds into your flesh. You're unable to defend yourself. And how nom noms me? As 12, 13, 15 points of damage from the beak.

I'm gonna reduce it. Not great. Five, six points. And then they take their horrible talons and cross slash against you with a 17? Oh, it's a vantage

because you're stunned. I know, that's higher. That's gonna hit. It's a 23. Miss is just barely there. And so then that is going to be a while I rolled a low. The one that attacked Iris took the six damage.

Oh, that's number three. Those numbers are amazing, so thank you for doing that. Yeah, they're nice and big, yeah. Eight damage, you said? Six. Six damage. You take eight damage from the Clause as they slash across. And then we have...

Divide life. One is going to be attacking, so five and two already went. And then one was the street, or no, no, There's three, you attack that. And so then it's one and four. So it's, Luffy is a bite and you're disadvantaged because of your biz, right? Miss.

I'm going to use a key point and sway drunkenly on my feet and kind of knock his mouth into numbers. You kick it over and you see as it's extending, it's just slashed iris and it's leaving its neck vulnerable. As you kick its, it's a, serrated beacon it chomps into the neck dealing the actual good amount of damage. I really real well.

I love the redirect that is so fucking. And he's already wounded by the spirits, which is also distracting him. And so, yeah, he took a bit of damage here. Okay, Roger that. And then one more is on the final ones on Felix. And I need to roll something for your mirror image? No, I'm gonna roll it. Okay.

You got this. Six or higher, it targets one of my- It's going to hit. So it poofs it. Well, yeah, it poofs it. And so it threads in and it looks around and shrieks. And- What a good spell.

It's done too. Um, and with that you, the, uh, Furman looks at you and says, You should have accepted your ascension. You all can still be wings of Pazriel and time. As this voice gets more strained in bellows, as the alchemical circles, in this room, a blast, and you feel horrific,

demonic, transmutational energy. Wash over you. I need you all to make a charisma saving throw. Oh, no. That might not be where I'm in remotely liking. Okay, this die is gone. Yep, so is this one. Oh, no.

Oh, no, I got an eight. Felix isn't very charismatic. An eight? Yeah. 28. 28? Okay. Six.

Sex? Fuck. If I only did. Wow. Better than five. Oh, no. Not better. No, that is not better than five.

Shit. Well. That's actually one worse than five. Is that how numbers work? Huh. Okay. You all, those of you that fail, feel a pulse as you feel your skin. start to move and twitch.

As you look down, you feel sprouting. And those of you who have the spores, you feel like there's, oh, it's just the spores, but no, as you look down, there's dark feathers covering you as you have one level of demonic transformation. As in this dark transformation, you feel the need to obey. the angel of the four wins,

as you feel yourself pulse, and that will come into play on your turns. Lifty, and who failed, I need to know? Oh, just Iris. Oh, and me. Okay, Lifty. Oh, boy. All right.

Thanks. Yeah. Well, I'm stunned, so the angel's not getting shit out of me on my turn. Sucks for you. I am going to take my spoon and jab it into number one, one that had tried to attack me. Yeah. So I'm gonna jab that forward

and then just kind of follow it up with a quick like, boot, boop. Okay, so I'll make three attacks on number one. Okay, so that's gonna be 26, 24, and 16. 15 AC, yep. Okay. Is the AC, the rocks. And he is not taken damage?

He is not for a minute, or number three has the only one that's taken damage. As it is. And with it being stunned, I'm just gonna kind of bounce

between these two and move my way out here. Yeah. And with all three of his legendary actions. Oh, okay. Not yabo. What the hell? It's his turn, right? Yep.

Well, he's able to do it before his turn. But it's going to be his turn anyway. He's able to do what? What's happening? All three legendary actions. Oh, okay. The all six of the Vrocks are going to fly into the air and hover directly above you. Don't care of that.

And attempt to, this is the first part of this action. Did we all get an attack of opportunity? Wait, he's stunned. He's flying directly above you. Oh, and the one who isn't stunned, correct. So he's unable to. So the five are going to. fly, take into the air

and attempt to grapple each of you and hold you in place. That happens to me. That automatically happens. And so we need to make a contest to see if you're grappled. That's how that works, right, Rich? It does.

In current 5E, yes. How strong are that? Because I probably just get grabbed. No, you, Gilded Steph. You are adorable. You're able to use your acrobatics as well. Yes. And your aggrammatics is probably pretty good.

see the power granted to me by Pizzou. And in an instant, he disappears into smoke, flame, and feathers. And in a moment you feel- the heat. You've been, you've all been back to back, fighting against these rocks, but then you smell putrid, pustilence, you smell flame,

you smell the depths of, of, you smell sulfur, you smell the abyss, and it's from behind you. As he burst out from the center of you, teleporting into the center, I need everyone who is not grappled to make a dexterity saving throw. Wait, hold on, you mean like here?

So he's in between you guys, yes. Does the bridge of cause a doom by Howard Shore start playing? If I could play that without getting obliterated out. So I would move everybody out of the middle. Yeah. So you take everyone out for now. Don't move the rocks.

So put everyone who grappled is on top of a rock. Everyone who fails on top of a rock. And Iris is on a rock. And everybody else is okay. Yep. And now you guys have to roll your decks. So he is now here. He's in the center, correct.

Everyone, includes everyone. So you're going to take eight points of fire damage as he bursts and those who failed are going to be blasted to the edges of the room. Just you smash against the wall.

Oh, shit. So like all the way here, you're like here. You are blasted by his dark wings. You are smashed against the walls. You are going to take an additional 25 points of bludgeoning damage. as you are cracked. Damn, being grappled was actually... How do you like them grapples?

Yeah. But then you see as it is now his turn. He's just warming up. Can I get everybody? As your grappled and restrained by the Vrox. Yeah, definitely. As you then see why the Vrox had grappled you. He looks at the two of you.

He raises his whip. Always have Corvacian. and he raises his sword. Oh, is he gonna spank us? He's still. I hope. Dad is gross. He's gonna use the whip on iris.

You're gonna go out of stung. Is that a nuke hat? As someone who's stunned, can I use moan as a bonus action? Actually, no. It's a free action. No. I change my hat from mother daddy.

This is still Furman. This is still Furman. So he's going to just look at Felix. Oh shit. And he's going to look at Felix. at you and he say there's nothing worse than a traitor and you will die a traitor's

death as he cracks his whip and he attempts to spin to whip it towards you and so he's still shifty yeah but now I got to get an eight or higher. You're good. Yep so if it would hit if the attack would it would. It would.

Oh actually I didn't roll in actually. It has the same AC I have it. It was a natural 20 Well, the whip cracks, and I almost feel it on my skin, but one of my doubles pops. There's only one shifting, one other Felix laugh. Abby is, like, yelling out that Furman should fuck Felix. I mean, I'm fine with that, but it just doesn't feel appropriate in the middle of battle, Abby. Put it in the fan art. Yeah.

Is this twist the ball? No, I don't think so. I mean, like, it could be, right? But like, he's still gonna hit me. I would say that it would be for, what is it, tests? For twist. Okay. Yeah.

And this is not a test. This is one of those, like, raw rolls. Okay. Does piercing and fire make a difference for you? It all hurts just equally as bad. It's all appreciatingly painful. What would do? Shadow damage be.

This is really gonna fuck my own name. Damage from shadows? Like the chronic. Okay. That is 10, 15. You just got speared in the butt. You got whipped and speared in the butt. I didn't even have to pay for this.

And then I need to make a Constitution saving throw as it stabs into flame whips around you. How much damage first? Well, this will determine. Oh, Jesus, the little lady. Constitution saving throw. Ha! All right, that's a 24.

That's 24. That is enough. You are not going to take damage and you will not take a level of demonic transformation. Oh my God! As it pierces into you dealing 45 points of damage. That's fine. I got health points of spray. That's like an earlier scratch. I'm tankier than Tula.

And with that, he says unconsciously. And that's his turn. Iris would definitely... Iris would definitely see it. Caprice would probably feel as my blood is like just pouring out of me, like dripping, get out of my butt. As the rock is still holding blood. What are I bleeding out of my anus?

Oh my God. I hate this. Okay, I hate it. I'll look around so much that's happened. I barely had a chance to react and also, Foofoofoofoole. I will turn and I'll be like, Iris, I get it.

I can't do any healing. You guys give her information. And then I look around at the Vrocks. I'll be like, Vrox, frogs, frogs, rocks, rocks. Rock and roll. Okay. Yeah, sure. All right.
