This is Beneath Dark Wings, and we were nearing the end of all things. Last time on Beneath Dark Wings, you had made your way into the fathomless realm, the layer of the abyss of Dagon, the Prince of the Depths, his layer of the Abyss, the Shadow Sea. you had heard his command to feast, to feast and to feast, and to feast. And you dove deeper and deeper and deeper, and you found a strange heart in the ocean on the bed of this abyss. And Toa felt compelled to devour and to feast. And so he did, as he had a strange,

Every time we get the name of the, I forget the name of the little lure of an anglerfish that sprouted from his head. So remember the game state, a dangle. As a strange sea serpent emerged from the depths that ended up when it was slain, was shrunk back down to look like Toa, as some strange change had come over him,

some strange evolution. But that seemed to do the trick as the body part of Ravanaughia came to you all and you knew that there were no portals to be had as you knew that the shadow sea was

the depths of the sea in which the Queen of Chaos herself ruled the abyssal rather not the abyssal the steaming femme and you swam upwards and upwards and upwards and upwards and upwards and upwards

and upwards and upwards and you finally breached the surface of a raging chaotic sea with great spires rising up and numerous, countless spider feats or wolf spiders, these strange fiendish wolf and spider hybrids that you had first encountered so long ago

in your vision of the first war against chaos when Misk of the Wolf Spider was brought low, destroyed by the Winddukes of Oka, and devoured by Pizzouz. When Pizzou claimed the power of Misk of the Wolf Spider, or some of it. You eventually found your way to the palace of the Queen of Chaos, and through some shockingly high roles and a clever strategy, Caprice managed to successfully seduce a Oberith queen,

and when the time came to give her a bit of a smooch, the parasite that had been lurking within him from A-Box-Aub delivering that kiss of death, it leaped out of his mouth into the queen of chaos, tearing her up from the inside out, as the former Prince of Demons, the banished and deposed Prince of Demons, got a revenge as finally a great battle ensued,

and a Escher finally emerging from his bat form, slicing the Queen of Chaos' head, clean off. Not killing her, but bringing her load is merely a talking head babbling. He took up her great trident and claimed control of the spider fiends of this plane, readying for yourself the final assault against Pizzouzziu. You readied yourselves as he commanded spider fiends and opened a portal to Pizzunia from the steaming Fenn. And you all rose up as gravity shifted and you all fell into Pizzunia the hellish, arid, blisteringly hot, badland realm.

of Pizzou, the plane of a thousand portal, of infinite portals, the palace of 1,001 closets, the plane of a thousand portals, the plane of yawning pits, the first layer of the abyss. And then you realized as you entered with Escher commanding these massive swarms of spider fiends to spill into Pizzonia all around you as they skittered out across the arid landscape, you saw thousands of portals opened up to every corner of Aventras, the prime material plane, and to realms beyond. As you heard Pizzou's cacophonous voice ring out in that squawking shriek, offering salvation to the mortals that were beset by demons and corrupted birds, and all of that

from salvation, from all of the horrors that they were experiencing, or all they had to do was say his name thrice. Any questions before we get into it? That's a good question. Were they like, were the spiders actually, like, nibbling on him? Like, was he being affected by that?

Who? Didn't Escher, I had it in my notes? Escher commands the wolf spiders to flood into Bazunia and feast on Pizzou. Were they feasting on him? So, no. Pizzou is entirely. across the plane.

Okay. You know that basically... But the wool splatters are pouring in and basically they are hungry, they are howling, they are skittering as they still in,

as he is attempting to command them after taking up the power. His form of the ascension of Pazunia that you had seen Virgil Zern used once before.

Okay. Anything else before we start? No, that's it. You are standing. atop a rocky spire as you stare out at the hellish landscapes with an enormous, as there are floating rocky crags or moats of earth all around, you see numerous fortresses, ruins, remnants of battles, thousands of battles,

of miles of bone, as far as you can see, The scorching wind blasts you as the enormous red sun looms over, not just a sun, but also the great portal spilling into Striga. As the flocks of rocks spill out, seeking to spread Pazuzzi's flock across the entire material plane. You see the rivers of blood and horrific-looking, chop. water, if you could even call it that. Pools of magma and molten iron at the base of great mountains. An enormous canyon, a rift at the center of this land. Horrific otherworldly fiendish. As you see most of the flock of Pizzou is towards the portal, being held off by the Vati, the worshippers of the Wyndiaks of Oka, the servants, the species that have been preparing for this war for thousands of years.

As you see the portals, you hear the screaming coming up very faintly through the numerous portals all around, as Pizzou's voice rings out, and also seemingly knowing that you're all here, as he said his name thrice and a bit of pause and then you hear it ring out as as there is a quiet

as it rings out and as he tells all of a ventriss his name you suddenly start to hear screams around you and you see dotting this landscape, the occasional blip of some figure appearing, as not too long, not too far from you, probably just down the rocky ledge, suddenly you see a human, what looks like a mother in her mid-40s pops into existence in a burst of black feathers, and she looks

Wait, where are my? screams as her neck elongate. She gets covered in feathers. She squawks out as she appears as you see thousands of human noise appear into Pizzunia, calling upon the help of Pizzou, arriving, transported just as Escher had,

just as Caprice had, and immediately transforming into horrific frock demons. And you see this vulture-like demon look at you ravenously as it flies up with gnashing beak as it is immediately

sworn by three spider fiends as they leap out, howling and barking it in webs and tearing it apart as Asher holds this enormous trident high as he looks at all of you with his four wings framing him This is it. This is the end. I hope there are some souls on this world,

not foolish enough to say his name three times as I was. Are you all ready to do what must be done? So right now? We're going to do this, right? Yes, there's one more thing if you hope to have a chance to beat him in combat. I am going to find the final piece of my daughter. I thank you for the... providing the 11 fragments, as you have.

I do not need you to find the 12th. I am going to save my daughter. It is not your burden. All right, you, you find her, and we'll take care of the rest. Do you think you can do this? Are we flying currently? I say you were flying. Yes, exactly right. Someone had cast flying on you. Who was that? Somebody did. Or levitate. As... It might have been a joint effort.

I have some flying. But I don't know if I had prepared. I would say you would have landed atop this precipice. And you're staring out as you see more people. Wait, what, no? Oh my God! Is there screaming as more and more humanoids across the ventras are being teleported across Basunia, turning into horrific demons,

taking to the sky. And you see as any time they get close, they are sworn by spider fiends, at least at this vantage point. The spider fiends will be able to keep the newly formed demons from descending upon you, and I will make sure that I send the Elysa contingency with you. But they will be of no use against the great new dukes, newly formed of their own, channeling the power of the chained god. The four fortresses are the bastion of sky cleave of the north wind, the lord's rook of the east wind, aldenox egg of the west wind, and Stereau citadel of the south wind. He is the Lord of the Four Winds. And these four winds whip through Pazunia. Cut that off.

Close those portals. And his gambit of devouring the chain, God will be his undoing. All right. Felix, everything that we've done has led to this moment. Yeah. And I'm afraid. Don't be afraid. Tau. Don't be afraid. You're the bravest person I know. And if you start to lose your

wits, wills now, I don't know what I'm going to do. Ferris will walk up to Toa and tilt your head up. I will not lie to you. Death may come for a sword. But from the moment I've met you, I've known that your heart weighs light. Death is not the end. and whatever you find there, Jebred Day may choose to take you. The life you have lived is one that will grant you happiness and peace in the afterlife. Know that should we fall here, what we are doing is for all of Vantris. And all of us will pass through the gates beneath the mountain and Anubis will welcome us home. We will accomplish our goals.

Do not fear death. I can promise he is a friend. I'm not necessarily afraid to die. I think I'm... I think I'm ready for that. I'm afraid of... If we fail, what happens? We will not fail.

If you fail, it is the end of all things. This universe becomes theirs just like the... original domain of the Oberus. We will not fail. They will annihilate this one, and then move on to the next. But you will not fail. Slay these four dukes of the four winds,

and what you see may give you pause, but you must have the result. It is not just us that walks with us today. This has been a journey that we started long ago. not just the moment we met on the crossroads. The day that all of us decided that we were going to become who we are. Fate has led us here for this day. We were born to do this, and so we shall.

You're right. That's why the wind spirits brought me to find you. And that's why the universe brought us together on those crossroads. Iris is right. I was bred to be a weapon. I was taught to be this way. There's nothing but fire within me, and I'm not keeping it in any longer.

I don't know what will happen. I don't know if it'll be the Raven Queen, or if it'll be a Nubis that judges me. I don't feel like my heart is light. I've done so much wrong, but it doesn't matter. When push comes to shove, we're going to leave it all here.

And if I'm reduced to ash, if there's nothing left, if I'm burned up because of my power, I'm taking my enemies with me. And if I'm deemed to not be worthy, then so be it. And if that day should come, we were all clasp hands and we will walk into the afterlife together, knowing that we saved this world. Felix, child. He'll put his hand on your shoulder as he puts the trite down. on and holds it. A very wise old friend once told me no matter what has been done. The path to redemption may be long, but it does begin with a single step. I hope you're right. I will do what I can to complete that journey and claim whatever penance I

can and attempt to save my daughter in the first place. I I can never forgive myself for even considering giving the burden of this power to her. I will claim that burden, even if it destroys me. And perhaps she will be able to find a life in this new world once you succeed. We will meet at the great Ziggurat of Oth-Magalov. It is there. It's one of the greatest. larger structures in existence.

Deep in its bowels is said to be the well of entropy, the only known fragment and remnant to their original domain. After you slaughter all four dukes of the four winds, we will meet there, and we will begin the final battle. That is our plan.

I may not be as clever as Zern, but he says all we have. And he points to the north. That's there, and there's an enormous, off in the distance, you see that there is no curvature of the earth. You can see basically across almost his entire plane, despite how small it is. There is almost no horizon,

and it is just eventually things fade off or get blocked by the jagged terrain. That is the bastion of sky cleave. to the molten lake of magma and molten iron. And then he points to the east. There on that earth moat, and you see this massive floating hunk of rock, and on top of it is a fortress.

That is the Lord's rook. He points to the west. There, built in that enormous chasm, his Altonach's egg built at the edge of the blood rift, and then he points south where this massive river of blood sneaks into choppy, fiendish-looking water. They're built on the shores of the river Styx itself.

Istero Citadel. That is where these four dukes are ascended to their station even after me, the right hand of Pizzou. A master has a sick and twisted sense of humor. and he kind of looks at all of you with a grim knowing expression

and then he looks back I will reconstitute my daughter and I will meet you at the Ziggurot my spider fiends will do their best to protect you from the hordes but they cannot help you against the dukes Yeah well it will be enough Any help you can give

Does it matter which order we take care of them? That is up for you to decide They all must be killed all the same He fats his four wings, and he leaps into the air, and he he feats if he trident to the queen of chaos herself, and he raises it up, and you hear all of the spider fiends let out howls, as you hear more screaming, shrieking souls get ripped into Vizunia and immediately get turned and transformed into demons. As he flies off into the sky and disappears into a plume of dark cloud,

As you see that hellish sun above with the flock of Pesuzu flying up, the ones where the spider fiends as they're spilling out, the portal open to the steaming fenn does not change. You see it above you as you see the top of the castle of the Queen of Chaos. As they are, as these spider fiends are spilling down a good 50 feet on all sides around you and howling and barking as they skitter down. This jagged landscape, no match for their kite-ness legs.

What do you do? Well, Luffy, what's the over-under that he's just going to take his daughter at length? I don't think he would do that. I know him. You sure? I mean, he could just go. I know.

He wouldn't. I guess he wouldn't have anywhere to go, right? I mean, he's got to help a little. He's already fucked us many times. He has? Some of us more than others, but he's not going to do it again. I know.

All right. In my heart of hearts, All right. He will do what's right. We cannot know that, and we must be prepared for the fact that he has tricked us in the past. Yeah. And there is a possibility that we get to the end of this and we've played into his hand. But what is our alternative?

We must do what he's asking of us. We don't have much of a choice. Then there's no use worrying. Brother Gruber always said, if you worry, you hurt yourself twice. That's true, and I'm not saying we should worry. I'm saying we should prepare. We should understand that it is a possibility that when we do confront

P-man, the final time, that Asher may not arrive as friend. He is, as he said, the right-hand man. And with that does come complications. However, it is something else, he said,

that concerns me most. When he spoke of the four entities we must kill, he looked between us. and he said that he said something cryptic about he has a twisted sense of humor I fear we will know or recognize those entities whatever they are whoever they once were I hope not as do I but we should be prepared for it nonetheless I want to kill anyone I know of course not and wouldn't would that not be the smartest thing for him to do, to put in front of us the only things that we must kill

to succeed. Being, we would not want to take the lifer. At this point, it doesn't matter. Iris is right. Whatever they put in front of us, it's another enemy, it's another target, and we eliminate them. If it is someone, it is family, I have not heard back from Siket in a long, time. There are many in my life it could be and I will remind myself no matter how hard it will be that if there is someone there that I love I will be doing them a service by removing them from this place as much as it hurts. We're all in. We're pot committed. We have to get this done. The entirety of existence is right on our shoulders. She's right. If we have to fucking kill each other, we'll have to do it.

There is a possibility. We saw what happened to Toa. There could come a day when a power is strong enough to turn friend and foe. And should that day come to pass, we must be united. That death is not our enemy. And please, if it happens again, And there's nothing you can do to stop me. Just kill me, please. I won't be upset about it.

So, I'm telling you, I'll give you permission. Right now, please. I beg you. Same goes for me as well. I love you, all of you, as family. And should I lose control of myself, do not let me be used as a weapon. Dinner.

If I lose control and you need to end my life, one of you just sit on my face until I'm gone and then I'll be gone I'll be out you know I'll be I'll be fine you have my permission as well if we fail everyone back on a ventrish dies anyway our lives are nothing in comparison

and I'm done being used as a weapon against my will I agree if I have to sit on Caprice's face until he dies No not you then I will not you no That's what I said You said anyone No I was looking at

explicitly at both of you. Well, Toa would be the most logical choice because it would happen the fastest. Yeah, he's incredibly. All right, no more face-hitting. Face-hitting is out. You guys are going to ruin a perfectly good thing. Then how would you like us to kill you?

random bird demons. That is also a possibility, is my... How do we get there? We're way up on a thing. You're on like a spire, and it's not like a complete, like a needle spire. And so, you know, it gets a little bit broader as it goes down. So it's not like thousand needle style. It's like...

Yeah, no, it's maybe the top of it is, but you figure you might be able to scale down if you were trying to go on foot. Well, from this vantage point, we have the entire place laid out in front of us. Caprice, would you like to make a match? I mean, sure. You're going to ask him to do this?

Making intelligence check. 20. You are able to sketch out, I would say, the layout of Pizzunia to the best of your ability. Things seem to be shifting and changing. Portals are opening. But I would say that you get the sense that you are relatively equidistant from the four different citadels across. And you know that far to the earth. at the center of this great plane is high on a massive precipice

that is the Ziggarot, where the legendly that is connected to the original universe of the Oberus. I start by putting a little dot in the center that says you are here. And then I make the rest of the map. Oh, Caprice. Perfect. Well, I wouldn't say perfect,

but practice definitely makes proficient. Yeah, I would never be there. so proud. You've really improved. Thank you. I like turned to you and there's a bunch of new drawings on the back. Oh, I mean. Oh. Wait a minute. Was that Lufty? No, no, no, no. This is a map. Was that two nights ago? I'm running out of paper. I don't want to talk about it. You little pervert. What direction do we want to go in first? I don't know. I mean, there are arguments for any of them. Are we closer to one?

No. No. You're right into the other sense. At least. If you are closer to one, it's very difficult to tell. What were the names? Skycleve and Lord's Rook. Something about an egg? Aldernax. And that sounds nice. Stereo.

I've always felt kind of eerie and strangely coincidental that where I'm from, our culture reveres the four winds and the four wind spirits. So, I mean, where I'm from, there's rocky, the red boar of the north wind, there's the Keena, the white mower of the east wind, there's Tonga, the blue turtle of the south wind, and then there's Komohana, the black shark of the west wind. and so I don't know if maybe we can use that as a guide somehow I mean... Well, sure. If you had to kill one of them, which one would you start with?

Well, I wouldn't want to kill any of them but if I had to choose... And remember, though, probably listening. Well, for full reference, Aquina, I don't wish to kill you, but I mean, Amoa is basically a big bird so maybe we start with

that one. I think that's a great idea, too. It would, there is something apropos about you choosing which spirit we start with. No, we're not going to kill the spirits, we're just I'm just trying to think in terms of this is just like flipping a copper piece

and something. I know. I understand. I don't, you know, I hope this feels, I don't know. So which direction? Which one? That would be east. Well, Lord's Rock. Let's start to the east then. And we'll go block.

from there? We could go clockwise. Oh, we could go counterclockwise. I don't know. It just goes there and then we'll figure it out. Sure. We might get a better idea once we kill one and then the next one, you know,

Unless we're really desperate.

I will grab my my small box that has the little carved figurines and I will kneel down. and I will place as long as I can align with the north-south east west I'll put the boar, the moa, the turtle and the shark down and I'll be in the middle. Oh great wind spirits. Especially you, Hikina. Sorry about those things I see earlier. How bad is it if we start with the east?

No offense or anything. Just, you know, we have to pick one order and I'm kind of feeling east to start. How is that going to go? And I will use augury. How does that work? I receive an omen from an otherworldly entity about the results of a specific course of action that I plan to take within the next 30 minutes.

The DM chooses from the following possible omens. Weal, woe, wheel, and woe, or nothing. It doesn't take into account any possible circumstances that might change the outcome, such as casting of additional spells or the loss or gain of a companion. And that is pretty much it. You hear the voice of Pekina.

Fuck, how I lost. How come you. You place the figurines as the wind whips around, this howling blasted hot wind, whips around as it circles and circles and circles and circles and then it whips in the direction of East. In a way, I need to make a strength saving throw disadvantage and then it attempts to knock you down. Oh shit. Oh, hold on, hold on, hold on. Oh my god, where my toa dies?

dice. Oh, this is definitely a toadice, though. And I need to find... Oh, God, I definitely don't want to use a non-toa dye. Yeah, that's a toa die. Oh, thank you. That's where they are. Thank you guys. Oh, they're all here. Oh, thank God. Oh, the word's the D20. How's it? Oh, is it? Oh, that's not good. Well, we can't play. We're going to have to be... Yeah, can we see us next week. And in your vision, Toa, you see only you see. You see Hekina, the Moa, as it appears before you. As then its beak elongates and becomes jagged and stares at you with six eyes. And it says, Oh, come kill me. I'm waiting! As it shrieks and explodes into feathers as your vision fades.

you were called East. Looks like good news. Do I feel that's a wheel? What is that? Do I feel that's like a wheel or a woe? Or is it sort of like a... Or neither. Or just neither.

Should I just read into that? I would say how you feel... How you feel the results all the same. You need to kill one, or you need to kill all four. I think that you feel that the direction doesn't matter that you have been challenged. Pizzou knows you're here and you feel like you need to kill all four of these beings.

Fuck it! Let's go east! We're going east! Oh, God. I like this new decisive nature. I don't think I've ever heard to say fuck it. Right. You've been spending too much time with Felix. I don't use those awful words.

You've been spending too much time with Caprice. That makes more sense. I say fuck it. As soon as you As soon as you say let's head east, suddenly there is a circular, magical hole appears directly before you, Choa. As you see this glowing magic

of Escher's portal magic. As it appears, as it hums, you see what looks almost akin to a bag of holding. As you see five jars that are sitting in there. And you see that they're filled with strange liquid that reminds you of what Escher had made when you had gathered ingredients

in that dark wood in Sketherna all that time ago. And these beautiful vials, almost. And the head of each elaborately carved with that stonecraft that Escher had favored so much. And you recognize the heads of each of your garboils. Oh gosh, look. Oh, Escher made her something.

Isn't that nice? Oh. Oh, this is... Fuck, what was his name? I thought I had it here, but it's not there. I can't remember. It was like two years ago. I think back to two years ago. It's not even in this book.

I think Toad would definitely remember the name of his guard. Felix would do. He's very intelligent. Felix endeavors to remember. Mike, he needs to figure out endeavor. Does he want to remember any of their names? No. No. I wrote it down, but I don't have that notebook on me anymore.
