You were consumed by this Aurora, by this.
this curtain of magic and blinking, you begin to fall into what feels like a dream.
Onward then, to conquest, to dominion, to an empire where the warmth of the sun is but a distant memory.
Rise all and claim this world as your own in the name of Kaskatchee, the prince of wrath.
And there's this massive explosion as you realize that you are staring at a young,
but still massive and powerful ice dragon.
The Princess of Rath rises from this shattered ice
and is born into the space of the execution site.
Roaring.
All of a sudden, her wings unfurl,
and you realize you were staring at the moment
that the Princess of Rath was born.
Sometime in the last day,
You see Queenie and Daisy, it's hard to make out exactly what's being heard.
You see the two of them are standing before what is a great arch, our hard way.
And you see Whisper Fang is standing there demanding something.
Queenie is clearly stressed and trying to argue, but the princess has Daisy in her touches.
It has been nearly a year since the day you all first met in a sweat-drenched tavern in Wuzzi,
and you could not be farther from home.
Not only have you been swept up in the politics and violence of the brutal frozen lands of Drakar,
but you find yourselves now swept up by a vision carrying you through the life of a woman named Sigdeth,
now known as the Princess of Rath.
At first, you did not recognize what you were witnessed.
A young woman caught between the duty of her tribe and the wrathful disfigured man known as Kastan.
Figgis' life would be defined by her betrothed as he grew into a warlord, fighting for independence and survival from the kingdom known as the Silver Dominion.
Desperate times would force her and Kestan to the woman in the mountains, and you watched as Kastan's desperate bargain turned him into the demon giant known as Kaskatchee.
It was not enough.
The magic of the silver dominion banished Kaskatchee to some faraway realm and left Sigdis to face her own and alone.
When the time came, however, another intervened, and Sigdis was reborn as the figure you know her as today, the princess of wrath.
When her vengeance was finally slaked, the princess hid herself in a frozen corner of the world and entered a long slumber.
Centuries passed, and the cobalds who found and awakened her worshipped her as a god,
urging her to take her rightful place as ruler and unite the disparate tribes of Dracar under her reign.
And so she did.
Now your visions have brought you to nearly the present day, where you stand somewhere within the biting bastion.
Try as you might, your words go unheeded, and all you can do is watch as the events place.

Before you stands the Princess of Rath,
gripping Daisy with one hand
and gesturing with the other.
Queenie stands defiantly,
her bow in her hand,
watching and waiting for a moment
where she could intervene.
On the other side of the chamber
watches Whisper Fang,
and you recognize the artifact
that lays by his feet,
the hexature armament.
Queenie, the Princess of Rath
commands,
give them to us now
and no harm will come to your friend.
It would mean a great deal to me.
Queenie shakes her head and refuses her, telling her to release Daisy.
Queenie, I won't ask again.
I told you I wanted to show you something, and here we are.
I am being so, so merciful.
All I ask for is the precious seeds of yours.
Give them to me, and I will spare your friend's life and yours.
Queenie looks to the door towards where you stand now,
this terrible vision, hoping beyond hope that somehow her friends will join her by her sign.
But you are not there.
Daisy jerks and gestures, clearly pleading to Queenie for her not to give in, to fight, to run.
But the princess tightens her grip and you see Daisy's hands go to her throat and coat with frost.
Your time is up.
Five, four, Daisy's eyes roll and her lips turn blue.
and I'll do it, Queenie relents.
The princess softens, and you hear the deep intake of breath as Daisy coughs for air.
Good. Do it slowly.
Queenie reaches into her pack and retrieves a small satchel,
the one you know containing the Faywild seeds gifted to her by her friend and mentor Eldred,
and tosses them to Whisper Fang's feet who snatches them up hastily snickering.
You watch healthlessly, as he runs.
rummages through the bag.
They're here.
Now, Queenie,
your bow, your pack,
your honeypot, put them down,
you're coming with me, and we must hurry.
I have a wedding to attend.
Whisper Fang retrieves one of the
dormant seeds between two fingers,
its surface sparkling as though
dusted in small diamonds, and
places it atop the hexature armament.
A moment, my princess.
He titters, and beneath his breath he speaks, almost sighing to the relic.
Its top begins to turn faster and faster, and the seed responds in kind.
But unlike the magnificent tree that emerged at the top of that mountain at the start of winter
so many months ago, the creeping plant that springs forth looks withered.
Branches and bark interweave-like vines, twisting into ends that produce no leaves.
The root turns and grows and lashes toward in a full.
Tall arc, straddling the room and forming a portal.
Oh, shit.
Where there was a window overlooking Argent home, the image clouds and warps.
Beyond, a path into a frozen forest stretches out before Queenie and the Princess of Rath.
There's no normal forest.
The snow between the thin, leafless trees hugs the ground in shades of blues and purples and gray.
Everything shimmers with a natural iridescence.
between the branches of waterfall made of pure ice flows down surrounded by dancing tentacles of snow.
By the time the magic is completed, so is Queenie.
The Princess steps forward and trades her captive for the rabbit folk, grabbing Queenie by the ears.
Daisy falls to whisper inside as the Princess steps into another realm.
Keep her safe. Tell no one.
I will be back as soon as we have found what I have been looking for so long.
Freedom long last.
You race forward to follow and find yourself blocked at the threshold of the portal.
The princess strides into the forest and a figure from between the trees emerges,
a robed figure with thin wings like winter leaves and eyes like a deer greet's the princess.
And as your vision fades, you spy a silver charm hanging from around his neck,
fashioned into the shape of a six-pointed flake of snow.
moments later you come back to yourselves
there in the simple dwelling of what you might call home
Tyshen sits his legs crossed
sweat beating down his scales
you all stand as you were
chest heaving with emotion
what happens next
is up to you

what the fuck what's the nature
of the sorcery you cast

We go to the bastion and do what we should have done weeks ago
with that foul villain, whispersifying.

As Dornier goes into deep contemplation and the adrenaline
starts to calm for what it's worth in your body,
you realize that the light pouring in through the windows
indicates that some time has passed. It is perhaps very early
morning. Oh, wow. So it's even more.
And you realize that you've all enjoyed the benefits of a long rest.
Oh, hot damn.

It was a portal to the realm that Queenie had a connection to the seas

Why would she seek entrance to such a place?
What could she gain then? And who was she meeting with?

Oh yeah, she is already an avatura of winter, so to speak, perhaps.
Yes. She wishes to be an empress of the cold of death?
We cannot know. But certainly she goes to gain more power. This is for sure.
If she wished Queenie dead, then she is already dead. There is nothing that can be

I'll just let his drop myself.
But, you know, getting in there unnoticed
and starting a whole war is not part of the plan.

That metal man, the thing that he wanted, that is the key.
Regardless of what the princess wanted with Queenie
and her seeds in this realm of winter,
that armament is the key
and only whispered Vang knows out of use.

And then what?
And then we face the princess and we kill her?
And then what, when the metal army comes?
We will cross that latitude when it comes to it.
The four of us?
With an anchor?
And our magics?

Those are powers that we should not be meddling with. Or we'll end up with the fate far worse than hers, far worse than her kings.

The streets always appear to be empty.
You see them in the marketplace.

Aside from this giant closed gateway, you will recognize a smaller arch.
Well, more kind of the entrance that you came in on, this sort of octagonal shape.
But instead of there being a stone doorway, there's a curtain of ice that simply,
stops. This large door must lead to the dwarves deeper into their home.

This is going to feel a little necronistic, but I think it's important.

device with a single wheel at its floor. Adjacent to that is a table with a number of boxes.

but you were no longer surrounded by the lake, the ice, the bubbles of this gas.

safely and harmlessly dispersed the gas.

You are at a loss as to know where you are,
at what point in the biting bastion,
but you can safely say that you are within the threshold
of the stronghold now.

You lead away, Mr. Yorne, it's your sense of direction down here.

And you begin to pass a familiar face after familiar face.

Either rock or the frozen lake beyond,
there are these large furnaces.
These huge, massive furnaces.
that look like they could burn a rowing boat
easily fitting into the mouth of these large iron furnaces.
You continue to walk if you're following the dark path
and making your way around.
And you realize that you have to go all the way around
what is essentially a large ring at the foot of this fortress
before you reach a staircase that makes its way up.
You realize that you could continue making your way around and continue to find the illumination that would be on the other side.
Fuck that.
We're on up.
Yeah.
But you find the staircase and you're able to make your way up.
As you progress, the stairs get taller and taller.
These are not stairs designed for a smooth and easy gradient, but a very tall, and they're well worn.
The edges of each one of these are warped and shaped by hundreds of centuries of feet.
And in order to climb, almost climb up some of the verticality of these stairs,
you keep your balance, making sure not to slip.
You make your way into the next threshold.
And Tyshen, you are illuminating the path, presumably.
I'm going to need a bit of a marching order.
I've kept, I'm probably towards the front, maybe you're near and I are, uh, I'm probably in the front, but yeah, the titian's right behind me.
The two of you see it first as you walk into a chamber larger than the ballroom that you walk into the base of the fortress.
And you are shocked by the end of the music as you transition into this next space.
more gold than you've ever seen in your life.
Before you, as you feel Barnabos and Scrim join you,
you reach the top step, and you are staring at,
it takes a moment to take in.
Hills of gold pieces.
Gold shaped bullion, gold nuggets, bars of it.
This is more gold than you could fit on 10,
are more abounds.

Crawling up or maneuvering around,
you were able to sidestep and get a better look
at what's actually connected to this mast.
And you find the Moorabound ship, shockingly,
relatively intact.
The whole ship?
The entire ship sat on a massive platform,
a lift with huge chains that clearly goes up
a central shaft of the biting bastion all the way, perhaps,
to the top.
A artifact that you watched sink underneath the ocean,
full of gold.
Okay, now she's just fucking with us.
Why?

We saw it sink beneath the waves, swallowed my darkness, I did.
Well, we've seen her open portals before.
The abyss took her.
I saw it.
I mean, is it completely unreasonable to dredge up a ship, Bonobos?
I mean, you know, right?
It can be done, but under 20 feet of ice?

open a door in order to make your way. You can see these stairs starting to make your way up,
and you continue. It's surprisingly not frigid. This, this, this is, this is, this, this
This entire space seems to be heated, at least to some degree.
Not perhaps to a comfortable place, but it is not the cold that you experience in the
dwarfen chambers.
It is not the cold that you experienced under the frozen lake, and it's certainly not the biting
cold of the exposure above.
And you start to make your way up to the next level.
As you do, you continue to follow Taishan's illumination, and you walk through
to the next level.
It
appears to be the dungeon
of the biting bastion, or at least one of them.
You can see on either side
a number of barred iron
doors and sliding gates,
a hard stone that has been
well crafted to
ensure the security
of anyone who may be put inside
these cells. And you can see
that there's a long hallway
leading to the other side before you can make
your way up. We can go onward. Careful, quiet, in the dark. That's right, Mr. Fire
Blossom. Lead the way. All of them lead. Now that it's, yeah, I'm going to basically try to
use my beaithful instinct. I can smell really good. His animal instincts. My animal instincts are
telling me to go quiet in the dark underground. That's very funny. I have dogfish. I bet you're
back. I'm smelling. I have my animal instincts, my beastial, my sea hunter instincts. You're
infiltrating and you feel this awareness of the space around you but all of you feel the
necessity of secrecy you only get one chance to surprise a fortress like this and to blow it would be
perhaps certain doom and you step forward trying to make as little uh uh sound as possible
about halfway through you hear a voice you hear a
rattling. You hear
a very familiar voice.
It's funny, so
see you again in this
way. Oh, he's still alive.
We turn to look.
You turn and you
see a bound figure,
not bound in the sense that they can't move, but chained.
And he stumbles forward.
And once he
reaches the bars those of you who are able to see
in complete darkness.
And I think that might actually be all of you.

Oh. So you're following and you don't see
the horror that Scrim and Barnabos can look at.
Oh, no.
Skin hanging almost completely free from the bones.
