The soaring vocals of the orchestra and the nemo-tone singer reverberates throughout the opera house as the overture for Act 2 of the show begins.
The audience stays fixated on the elegantly decorated stage below, but you are fixated on the private box where Dr. Avrima Artemis is just quietly exited.
Although the energy in the auditorium is warm and exciting, having seen your attempted assassination fail, a chill creeps along your spine.
No one else in Dr. Artemis's box has moved.
Damn.
Not even the bodyguard.
They seem focused on the opera.
You wait a few moments, but you know that she will not return.
And as Bernard snores sleepily next to you,
you know you have little time before you lose her entirely.
Be cool, be cool.
Damn it, how'd you know?
Yeah, what the hell was that?
She had to know, right?
I don't know I should call this.
Yeah.
There's no way.
It doesn't make any sense.
Well, there's some way.
I mean, she obviously just fucking knew.
She doesn't have a bodyguard with him.
I'm keeping my eye.
I'm listening to what they're saying,
but I'm keeping my eye on that box
and kind of glancing around at like possible exit points
and just seeing if there's any strange movement,
anything out of the ordinary.
Like I'm on, my brain is on top, secure.
security alert. Like I am trying to figure out what the next steps are for us if we need to make a move.
Okay.
Um, a roll a perception check for me, please.
Perception? Sure.
Pretty good at that. I will look.
Hey, team. I will look at Cremay and I will say, do, should we go after her?
Yeah. Yeah, I think we should. You don't have much time.
We can't stay here if you could warn people. What we did. We need to, we need to move.
She's got to be running.
I mean, if she knows somebody tried something,
and obviously she did, she's not coming back here.
Well, let's make a decision quick,
because she's got a head start on us.
Oh, can't play a trainer in a taxi cab.
Um, I'm gonna say, oh, I can't believe I'm going back to this.
I'm right next to Bernhardt.
Well, Bernard's behind you.
Oh, I thought I was right now.
No, they're like behind.
They were behind you arguing telling you to hush.
Okay, okay.
But I would say, yeah, you're right in front of us.
still have the extra beer that I kind of basically just scammed off of him.
I am going to basically stand up,
and I'm going to say, and maybe like kind of nudge Berenar to wake if he's still sleeping.
I don't know if he's sleeping or not.
Oh, yeah, he's definitely asleep.
His wife isn't paying any attention.
She's leaning over and she's just staring up at the opera just entranced.
Hey, Bernard, a bunch of boring stuff, hey?
I'll actually have to go.
I got a call.
I got to take it.
Hey.
And I am going to like basically kind of like hand,
try to like mind handing him my beer,
but I am going to try to like lean back
of when I was a bit of a scamp
and basically subtly check his pockets
for any speeder keys or a valet pass
or anything like that.
I think Grand Theft Auto is a little bit more
than being a scamp.
We know who goes the best.
Two stars show up over over Grico.
I know, you want it.
Roll a sleight of hand.
Wee-hoo.
Okay.
Shaddewee's Pike or all you, crap.
And I'll say also roll a deception
to see if this draws the attention of angry wife.
Deception is a 24.
She is completely oblivious to you.
Come on.
She buys this completely and she's concerned about the opera.
With a 19, I get a 20th,
Four. Yep. Damn.
You... That's pretty fucking good.
Damn, that's good. Damn, that's good.
You lean forward and you, you know,
you move the bottle towards him as if you're...
But you see he's clearly asleep.
And you see the wife glances over for a second
and kind of scowls at you as you're making this noise.
And so you kind of...
And you see that she scowls at him too
because he's asleep. And so you write him a little.
And as you do so, you feel that inside of his jacket pocket,
there's very clearly a valet key.
I.
And with that role, you're easily able to,
as you're moving him, you adjust his jacket
and doing so you're able to slip the valet key out of his,
or not key necessarily, but the tag, the pass.
Yeah, slip.
And you're able to pull that.
Some sort of a sci-fi-looking car.
Yeah, yeah, you're able to pull that out of his pocket
and slide it into the sleeve of your jacket
without her even noticing.
Enjoy the rest of the shoulder.
You know what I'm saying?
Oh, crazy wives, you know.
Shish!
Oh, I'll see you, be a little pat on the back.
Be quiet.
Okay, we'll just get the fuck out of here.
We're trying to listen to the Oprah.
All right.
Let's go, let's all go to the bathroom, fellas.
Yeah, yeah.
Man, we all gotta use the bathroom.
Oh, but it's time, it's time.
Down in front, shish!
Too many Krispy boys.
Oh, that long worm just isn't a great.
Excuse me, excuse me.
I just shake my head as we're like,
as we're filing out and trying to usher.
You hear hushes and be quiet from the people
around you as you are quietly making your way
out of your seats.
And eventually you find yourselves in the aisles
making your way back towards the grand foyer
of the Opera House.
As soon as we like go through the doors in the back of the theater, I would immediately start like, my eyes would be glancing everywhere.
And I'd be like kind of trying to stay down, maybe kind of being behind Gideon and Torbeck.
But I'm trying to, and I think we all would be.
But me especially, I want to be looking if I get any glimpse of her.
If she came down the stairs, if she's leaving for the exit.
I would like you all to roll a perception check.
Torbeck, you will be at advantage.
for the role that you made earlier.
Well, oh.
Man, I'm so good at this game.
My quab dice occasionally.
Oh, wow. Natural fucking 20 for 26.
Thank God somebody's good at this.
I'll sniff her out.
I got a natural one, so I've done a six.
Okay. Natural one.
18.
I was gonna say 28, but that's because I thought
I would be adding my pass.
I'm stressed.
I'm outrageous.
Same.
We don't know what she looks like now too.
Yeah.
We did.
Perception.
She seven.
Is he red, velocirap.
Yes.
So she's just relatively small, she was very small.
Sorian.
She was wearing a dress of some kind.
A fancy dress and he's got turquoise and like marked stripes
and like feathers, yes.
Thank you for a reminder.
Yeah.
11.
Okay. You're really lucky Torbeck got that natural.
I got 18. I got 18.
Right, but you're still with the 7-7-11,
you're really lucky to work on the natural 20.
Yeah, Frost.
Yeah, Frost.
They got Torbeck's here.
Thank God, Torbeck.
Said no one ever.
Frost is not this game.
This game, Torbeck's very good.
Yeah, he's very good.
Very good and useful.
It's very, very good.
Stepping out of the orchestra of the opera house, the orchestra floor, you step into the grand foyer.
And immediately, as the doors close, the, not silence, but the quiet.
is almost deafening.
Gone are the loud sounds of the music
and the wailing vocals of the nemo-toan opera singer.
And you are now in the quiet of this place,
where even your breath, or even your breathing
can be heard ringing throughout this space.
As all of you begin to look around,
you make your way through,
the grand foyer of the Opera House.
And you see a small handful of well-dressed stragglers,
along with the theater staff.
Looking about Torbeck, up on the highest terrace,
you catch a glimpse of red scales and turquoise feathers,
unmistakably belonging to Avrima,
as they make their way towards the speeder of ballet service.
As nonchalantly and as quickly as I could,
I would silently nudge Mr. Kay and point so that he sees and make note of the...
Before that happens, Frost, you also notice this, too.
Oh, look at that.
This was my favorite campaign.
There you go.
I'm just kidding.
Good out to a bit.
But I just, I make sure to let Kremi know as quietly and soundly as possible.
before I alert it, because we're pressed for time.
It looks like she's going.
Oh, no, no, go ahead.
Looks like she's going for a car.
I mean, you got the ticket, right?
We got to pick up.
Yeah.
Sorry, old bear, old lad.
Have you told us that?
Are you telling us now?
Oh, would we not have seen that?
No, you wouldn't have seen that.
If I would not have known that, then I would point out that she.
She's going for a fucking car.
How are we going to keep up with her?
Well, you're now lying something.
I don't have to talk a little.
about me past, but it does include a little bit of grand theft auto.
And this is only because it's dire circumstances, I don't indulge us, don't tell any of this to Milo, okay?
I can't believe you, Grico, committing crime so that we can go commit murder? What kind of a man are you?
Whose car is that?
Well, it's barrels was gonna be some, probably some jalopi, so we made the same, but it's the only thing I couldn't approach any of the other ones without getting noticed.
You don't have to defend your actions to me, let's just move.
Great fucking work, man.
Yeah, absolutely.
We're going to tailor in a fucking taxi?
For genius, come on, let's go.
Let's go get the car.
Stay in front of me, stay in front of me, follow it, go, go, go.
And we would like, we hustling.
We hustle.
Yeah, for sure.
I'm trying to, like, walk very, like, nonchalight.
So I will have you, we have you make a, let's do a stealth check.
I think that's fun because you're trying to blend in.
You're trying not to draw attention.
24.
The big boys, do we're-
This is where I'm not good, by the way.
Or no.
I would say 24, and if we can,
sorry, what were you asking in charge?
If we can help Kremi because we're hiding him,
he's asking him to get advantage of us.
Oh, no.
That's fine, I just rolled an 18.
Okay, great.
Plus 26.
Very natural one.
So I thought it was one.
What is it?
What is it?
It's not a-
For stealth or is a three?
Okay, wow, that's worse a nice.
We didn't do well, three and eight.
20.
We're giant.
Together.
What did you get?
Frost, you're to the deciding factors to whether it succeeds.
Damn these clothes are such a spectacle.
And I get a 24.
Fantastic.
Because of Frost, you are all, I don't know how.
This was my favorite campaign.
That was my favorite campaign.
I would love to win.
I would love to win.
I have darked him.
I don't know if you knew this.
It was a little bit.
Oh, ow.
Oh, how are we,
ow.
That's not something.
Ow.
Ow.
Yeah, with that, though some of you are not walking
as elegantly as others, as a groove,
you are, what was that allowed for?
I'm picturing like Gideon and Torbick
stumbling over themselves.
Yeah, that's.
It's called a Chad strut, okay?
We're Chad strutting through this place.
Anjalon, enchalon.
As a unit, you are fairly,
unnoticeable. No one seems to be turning in your direction. It's not unusual for people to leave
during the second act and head home early. And so you are one of few that are leaving the
opera tonight at this time and no one seems to look, no one seems to spend too much time
looking in your direction. I have a good. Yes. Were we impressed with the show? Was the
opera good? It was very good. Okay. It was very, very good.
I've never seen like that before.
So I'm just curious how...
Yeah, no, that's a great question.
And you remember that this was a very special night.
The fact that you got tickets for this was...
A miracle.
It was a miracle, quite frankly.
This was something that the top side had been...
Those who frequent the opera have been looking forward to for a while, and you could see why.
It was not at all what you expected, but more than you could have hoped for.
And I would say, especially you having not seen anything like this, you might feel a little.
little bit, you know, a little bit of sadness, wistfulness, that you're not going to be able to
see the entire show.
Noted.
But you do make your way out of the opera.
That was in bed.
A single tear rolled down door back to cheek.
And you make your way towards valet.
Once outside, you scan the air around the Perlessen Opera House.
Oh, sorry.
Wrong spot.
Once outside, you wait for the valet to retrieve the speeder.
and you have no idea what you expect to arrive.
Oh, here you go.
Yeah, I'm just moving past it
because I don't want to do an MPC.
Oh, okay.
You wait for the valet to retrieve the speeder,
and you have no idea what you expect to arrive.
Eventually, turning around the bend of docked speeders
is an incredibly sleek and impossibly expensive luxury cruiser
that is painted various shades of browns and beige's.
Its digital license plate reads,
Very sexy.
Chad.
Holy shit.
Can we go pay pocket
somebody else to take their car?
Holy fuck.
I don't want to rob this guy.
That guy's going to be bummed to learn his car.
I can't tell if I think this is incognito
or out of cognito.
Holy smokes.
Are we sure we can take this?
Everyone's going to know who we are.
Of course we can. Yeah, it's our car. That's exactly right.
Oh, yes, yes.
Okay, well, here you go.
You didn't hear anything,
nameless, that way.
Here's a couple of extra notes for all the trouble.
Thanks for taking great...
It's a vending question.
It's a vending machine.
It's a vending machine.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Absolutely, that exists.
Thank you so much for that, May.
You think they're being a valet.
Absolutely.
At the opera, they might.
At the opera.
Couple of extra notes, all right.
Who's doing the driving lights?
Well, I can take it, man.
Hand me the keys.
Vending machine.
All right, everybody hop in.
You're welcome.
That was really good.
Thank you, Derek.
I jump in immediately.
I get the back.
Got to go.
Is there room for all of us?
Can we all fit?
This is like a big, like a big luxury shooter, right?
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sorry, my brain.
I get in the back though.
I assume Mr. K-1 shotgun.
Okay.
Yes, I will take shot.
Well, actually, no.
I don't want a shotgun.
Who do you want a shotgun?
I want you in a shotgun.
Done.
I'll say, towback, get in front.
Gied, you know what to do.
Hell yeah.
And I'm going to get on what,
I'll get behind Torbeck because he's so wide.
So I will be in the back, right seat.
And kind of like leaning down,
just in case like she's looking through any mirrors
and looks back at us.
She sees us coming.
She's gonna think we're like the most well-dressed hired thugs.
Like two giant motherfuckers in the front
of this luxury vehicle.
I can't wait to see how this plays out.
Yeah, we have to drop the windows,
the arms are going out of the side.
And remember we're in our really awesome.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, really.
As soon as, Kremi, you get in on the right side,
I'll open the door out.
All right, Frosty.
There you go.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Okay.
Got enough space is on the left side of here.
Yeah, okay.
Is this the first time we've all
ever had the big boys up front?
So there's actually a good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's pretty spacious actually.
If you look in the front, you cannot see it.
Yeah, yeah.
Just a window of meat.
Just as planned.
This is playing.
Oh, God.
Ah, it's a little spacious.
Sitting sitting in the cruiser,
or do we have any kind of like line of
site on where like if the speeder valet was in a different section or do we see her like
would I have a general direction of where she's gone or? You made a very good time. You saw that as
she was leaving, she was not walking quickly. She was slowly just moving through the opera house
at a at a glacial pace almost. Still enjoying the show as she left. And even Torbeck, when you
saw her as she was making her way towards the valet, she wasn't, she wasn't moving with haste in any way.
You guys were moving significant, even though you were trying not to draw attention, you were
still moving quickly. And so you imagine that picking up the Barry SexyMobile, that you,
you did not arrive outside that much later than she had. Okay, got it. Um, if, I'm assuming
you're in the driver's seat. You want to. Yeah, yeah. And I would call a tour back like, hey,
eyes on the skies, man. You see, you see this, you see this.
I'll have the both of you then roll perception checks.
While they do that, I'm looking at all of the documents that I have here,
and I just forgot, I hopped into the cockpit of Rook Valerwing.
For a bonus action, I use Boost.
Oh, this is important vehicle.
What does Rook Vowlerwing say when you use boost?
Well, no, no, I get to do the voice.
You just have to tell me.
Oh, uh, raw, I'll sniffer out.
Raw!
That's what it says.
That's what it says.
Okay, love it.
Thank you, because that's what all the mecs sound like.
It changes every day.
I'm a shining spear of Castle, Ascalon.
No, they all sound like that.
Oh, okay, what did I roll?
I don't know, you didn't tell me.
Oh, I got a, oh, I got an 19.
17.
Oh, great.
That's decent.
You scan the air around the Perlesson Opera House,
and eventually you spot it.
A sleek, ice blue luxury air speeder
accented with chrome as it makes its way
southward. Surprisingly, it is not recklessly speeding, but is instead following all air traffic
laws at a reasonable pace. It comes to a light around the bend.
I'll kick the cruiser into gear, and I'm going to attempt to like come into the wake.
And if there's presumably there's like traffic around us, especially if she's driving normally.
Very light traffic right now. Anyone who's in this area of the city seems to be at the opera right now.
Got it.
So you're easily able to move up and join the sparse traffic.
She is currently stopped just a little bit ahead.
I would say there are about two, maybe three speeders in front of you.
Okay, but I was going to say I don't want to.
You're close enough.
I don't want to like come straight up to her.
I'd try and maintain like a two, three car distance.
And that's roughly where you're at.
On the tail.
All right, perfect.
That's it, Gideon, that's her.
Good work.
Guys, we got to, we're line of set it.
We're about three cars.
I'm playing cool, playing cool.
Pretend you're barrel.
Think about how barrel might drive.
Don't throw attention to us.
Be right?
What do I do?
Get drunk?
Where are they?
I would like you to make a,
I would like you to make a couple of checks
and you could do so at advantage
because Torbeck is helping you with some of them.
I'd like you to make a perception check at advantage
with Torbeck's help.
That's just to keep an eye on her to make sure you don't lose her.
That's an advantage.
Okay.
Ten at advantage.
At advantage?
All have a great perception.
If it's investigation, if it's investigation, it's a 15.
Hold on.
I am going to use one of my species traits.
You know what?
No, you can use that.
I like species traits.
Yeah.
Pack-minded.
When an ally I can see within 30 feet of view,
it says technically fails a D20 test.
Sure.
I can take a reaction to encourage
to add 1D6 to the total.
Possibly turning the success no failure.
Do it.
Assuming that a 10 is low, like too low,
I'd like to basically continue to help
and assist, pointing things out,
giving you advice on tailing distance,
and you can add a D6 to it.
Yeah, and I think if you had gotten into that before,
maybe you're the one that's, like,
giving me the heads up on staying far back.
Oh, five.
Perfect.
Fantastic.
15, yeah.
Three times before a long rest.
So 15 total on that first one, perception.
I would like you to make a dexterity check
for vehicle maneuvering.
That's probably just me.
That's just you.
And just for some reason, if you were to take damage within one minute, you would gain resistance to the damage.
So if this car explodes, you'll take that resistant.
You know what, actually, I would say I would give you advantage on this because you're used to driving very quickly through the Greenlight District.
And you're able to actually like breathe in this car.
And it's a brand new car.
It maneuvers very well.
Oh, hell yeah.
Okay.
And that's vehicles, which is 17.
Fantastic.
And then lastly, I would like you to make a stealth check
to see how incognito you can be as you are following along.
Gideon, don't get too close.
This is a very seeable car.
It would be easy for someone to pick us out in a crowd.
We're about three cars back, Frosty.
We're trying to maintain distance so she doesn't pick up on us.
but she's got to be at high alert.
I mean, she definitely knows something went down there.
So even though she's playing it cool, she's driving slow.
She's got to be on the lookout.
So you'll need to play it even cooler.
She's Mr. Kay, for your awareness,
she's not acting like she's being followed.
She's moving at a very normal pace.
This is odd.
Yeah, I got a bad feeling about this.
You got any kind of idea where you think she's heading?
I mean, where would she rabbit to?
Is she lived down there?
Do I know where she might be heading?
It's probably very early in the tail.
Right now it's very early in the tail,
but I will have you roll,
I'll have you roll a perception check
to see your familiarity with these streets
and if it's going somewhere that you're familiar with.
You, Gideon, perfect.
You, Gideon are behind, you're behind the wheel.
You are maneuvering the Barry sexy
as if, as if you,
driven this car all your life staying roughly two to three cars behind occasionally
occasionally getting a little closer than you like as one car moves off or as
one speeder moves off in a different direction but this is significantly
easier than you expected she is not speeding up in any way keeping
incredibly close to the to the dictated speed limits not even
attempting to go through yellow lights,
stopping well early and it's adhering very closely
to all air traffic loss.
Almost like she's, I'm sorry, I'm just,
it seems to be very clear that she is,
that she drives safely and she does not seem to be driving
in a way that she is attempting to escape,
but just that she is somewhere to be and somewhere to go.
And she seems unconcerned.
You only drive like that when you got
dead body in the trunk. Well, I was going to say, is it feeling like...
Thank you, Torbeck. Is it feeling like she's almost trying too hard to drive normal?
I wouldn't say that it seems like she's trying to. Well, you could, I'll have your role
perception check. Okay. That's fair. Or an insight, insight. Insight. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11. Yeah, I would say it doesn't seem like she's... I'm not picking up a vibe. No, it... For sure?
It just seems like she's not in a hurried.
state. Got it. But Mason's picking off the vibe. But it is a little quiet in this car. So you turn the radio on and you hear
da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And you realize this is not the vibe
you were looking for. As you turn the radio just a little bit to the side, you get some smooth
jazz as you begin to make your way through the streets of Neo-Eaterfax.
Might as well.
You stay as far back as you can, barely making out the shape and color of a Vremus
Speeder.
You tail her for half an hour and eventually arrive at what seems like a simple medical
park on the lower levels of the upper city.
As you make your descent, you see the speeder land in a small shape get out and walk through
the front door of an unmarked medical facility.
Looking at this facility, Kremi, there are bits of it that look
familiar, but you can't, at first you're not, you're looking around and you don't see much that you
recognize, but after a time you realize you do know this place. That's all I'll give you about it.
Boys, we're here. She just got out, she pulled up, she got out of the car. She walked in that building.
Could this be? Well, we'll find out. We gotta go. Is this where she leaves? She's by herself.
No chance. No. This doesn't seem like a residential ain't rode to me.
I don't have that feel, yeah.
I mean, Camara's got all sorts of unmarked facilities, offices.
So some sort of satellite lab or facility?
I don't know for sure, but I know that there's places that they wouldn't even tell me about.
It's maybe one of them.
Oh, then, I mean, do we act a killer?
If we could just, do we question her?
I mean, the poisoning didn't work.
I just thought of us.
Why don't she's a tiny lady?
We gotta go.
Maybe she can speak a piece if she wants to try to save a life, but
for Evia.
I don't think there's hope of that.
Let's go.
All right, well, let me lay it down, park it someplace,
maybe just so we're not in line of sight and see if we can make approach.
I mean, I don't know.
They're fucking like cameras.
But they're like monitor.
We're just going to walk up to the down.
door.
It's a long shot, fellas.
I'm not gonna lie.
I don't know how we're gonna get out of this one, but I think if there's one thing
we can do, if we have any fucking hope to end everything that's going on down there, I think
this is our one shot.
And let the consequences be damned.
Yeah.
Do you all accept that?
I'm happy to do this myself.
I would, I mean, I would doubt to make sure that Meeleuk doesn't get kidnapped by
herself, man.
We've already been through this.
We're all in.
all in. While this conversation's happening and Gideon is lowering the vehicle down to wherever
he should put it. I'll be attempting to look for like a kind of secluded not quite like direct line
of sight, you know, somewhere if I think we can land. You find a side street and there, um, there are a
row of large robotic trash compactors that, um, and seem to be repositories for the the tall apart
building off to the side.
And you are able to maneuver the very sexy
into a spot where it is obscured from the medical complex,
but is still legally parked on the side of the road.
My face is almost against the glass,
knowing that Kremi recognized this place
and knowing that I don't have memories from my youth
that were either taken from me or suppressed by my mind.
I'm looking at all of these features,
and I'm trying to get a sense as I know.
This place.
You do not recognize this place,
but you feel the dull throbbing of a headache,
just right under the surface.
It started the moment you,
the moment the building came into view.
And as you continue to,
as you continue to search your mind
for any inklings of a memory,
the headache starts to throb a little bit more.
And as you ease up on that, it goes away a little,
but it's still there.
No matter what you do, it just throbs at the base.
I'm going to...
Oh, God, I can't believe I said that out of.
While my base throbs, I'm going to pull...
We didn't notice it.
I did.
I noticed it immediately.
You didn't say anything?
I think it would have gone out of the right arm.
No, that one will all me.
No, I heard it.
I heard it.
But you know what?
We're treating this serious.
It's at the base of your neck.
We're treating this serious.
I will pull out my medicine, and I will even get the top off before I reconsider knowing that I might need to have access to my full senses, and I'll close it, put it in my pocket, and just continue to concentrate as we lower down.
I'm going to pull actually, no, no, once we get ready to get out of the car, I'll do something else.
Also, normally, Torbeck would have the hand cannon
and the knuckles, like, hanging from his belt.
Can we say that I have some, like, concealed carry?
Absolutely, absolutely.
And I have, so I got the hand cannon, like,
under my left armpit and the knuckles are hanging
from under the right arm there.
You got suspended.
You look like a high-end security,
where you are, for all intents and purposes, incognito,
but you have everything there shipping it.
I didn't think about the last episode,
but it just makes too much sense.
It does, it's perfect.
All right, cool.
Hell yeah.
All right, fellas, this is it.
The very sexy is parked.
I don't think they're seeing us from the windows.
We got to jump out, and I mean, I guess just walk right up to the fucking front door.
I mean, the place looks abandoned.
Does it look kind of abandoned outside?
I mean, or not abandoned, but it'll have no lights on.
Like after hours.
It definitely looks after hours.
Looking in, it looks fairly dark from where you're at here.
You imagine you have to probably get closer to see if there's any movement or activity inside.
You're up towards the.
back of the facility and here they're the only car in the parking lot is of Rima's
speeder. But when you were flying in, you were able to see part of, towards the front of the
building. I would say there were a smattering of speeders, not very many. So could be janitorial
staff, could be, but it definitely doesn't look like it. Well, presumably it's an office park
or medical parks. There may be other buildings. There could be other buildings there.
And so it's people who leave their car at their work for months at a time because they don't want to pay for parking at their apartment.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
It looks like after hours at a Walmart.
It doesn't look like there are anybody else here, man.
I mean, she parked out there by herself and just walked straight in.
I mean, you know, we don't want to lose her.
We should hit on over.
And there's a chance that there's no surveillance.
There may be security, but given what Cremie said, I think it's unlikely.
captured on a camera or some other device.
I think we just have to roll the dice on this one.
All right, this lady's a lot stupid than you need to see,
Mr. Cair. This is gonna be easy.
She's got lucky enough to drink.
She's a lot of things, but she ain't stupid.
Oh, we'll see about that, right?
All sort of like, I don't think I would just respond.
I wouldn't say anything else.
But my eyes would almost unfocus a little bit
as I follow the rest of that.
as I think to myself about how if this feels too easy it might be attentioned
oh shit oh oh oh Gregos aren't picking up on that at all I'm not picking up on that
at all no no oh all rock toolback big dog I'm right behind you you know what I say
can't run run with the big dog stay off the stay on the porch eh I've got you lad
I will kind of lead the pack so to speak
Hopefully with Gideon pretty close to me and us covering, you know, the rest of the crew.
I'll be in the back.
I think we'd be.
Yeah.
I know that we, you know, there's a level of, there's different levels here of caution.
I think Torbeck is always extra cautious when dealing with these kinds of things regardless.
And as we make our way up to this entrance that we saw her go into, you know, I would make my way up to it.
But just do a quick inspection to see if there's any kind of key card swipe, punch number thing,
some sort of security or lock that there might be on the front of this door as we're approaching.
You approach the office space, this medical facility, and as you go to look to see if there's any punch pad or lock or key receptacle or anything, you immediately notice the sensor over the door that lights up as you approach and the sliding glass doors open.
What the hell?
The darkened lobby of what appears to be a doctor's office awaits you.
You see doors that go off in different directions, small glass panels showing a light deeper in the medical facility.
But everything else is dark.
She just left it unlocked, Mr. Kay.
Well, it's possible she doesn't know she's being followed.
Where she's going to?
I'll destroy some evidence.
Hey?
Just keep your heads on a swivel.
Be ready for anything.
There's no way this is all a weird coincidence, right?
Like maybe she just...
Felt like not drinking that drink, right?
I don't know.
I mean, could she be worried, could she be worried we did poison her?
She came here to try and cure it before it took effect.
She didn't take a sip.
Is there any way that she should have, could have detected the substance you put in that drink?
Who knows?
I mean, I'm good, but she's better.
Hmm.
So, yeah, there is.
I don't like this at all, Mr. Kay.
Could have been something else that's inter-ar.
Look, we just got to go, all right?
Looks like there's only one way she could be.
I mean, this place is dark as heck.
One light, right over there.
A deeper end of the thing.
Looks like we know where to go.
Let's go.
Is it too dark for us to see?
It is, so outside there are flickering,
like parking lights, you know, the street lamps in a parking lot.
But they're muted, they're flickering a bit, but it is, it's illuminating the space.
But what you're looking into from here, the light spilling in from outside, you're able to see this essentially waiting room.
And then the long hall that leads down to one single light at the very end of the hall.
Offshooting from that are a handful of doors leading into what appear to be from here, other darkened rooms.
But the deeper that you get into the space
towards that light, the darker it gets.
I would just, if it doesn't feel inappropriate
or if Mr. K would tell me not to,
I would pull out a small flashlight,
small tactical flashlight that I have in my inventory
and just to help us see where we're going if we need it.
And unless Mr. K was like, you know, put that out,
I would basically use it.
No, I wouldn't stop you.
I think at least in this moment,
Kremi would be thinking like,
we're, you know, if she knows we're coming,
she knows we're coming. And if there are cameras,
there are cameras. It is what it is. Right, we're in too deep at this point.
Yeah, we're in so deep. We have a singular goal right now.
I will say the light itself provides
a healthy amount of illumination, but it only gives you about
five feet or so of illumination in front of you, typical flashlight style,
but it's enough to make sure that you're not gonna stumble over anything or
fall in a hole, trip any, you know, trip up anything that might be in the way
as you are making your way into the-
I do have dark vision.
Thank you, Derek.
Turn off the fly for you.
I have dark vision.
I have dark vision.
No, I mean, that's wonderful.
You could see in hazes of gray.
And with the elimination of the actual other light
that's happening, I think I'd be fun.
Yeah, no, I think you would be fun.
Okay, great.
Absolutely.
I agree with you.
But you are choosing to make your way down the hallway.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, like Mr. Kay said, we have a singular purpose.
Singular purpose.
When we know where she's at.
Knowing where we might be and who we might confront.
Before, I would lag behind a little bit and just pull out my personal communicator.
And I would look down and before losing signal, presuming if we go inside, I'm going to text Blarby.
I don't know if it's going to go through.
And I know that it's expensive.
I know and it's expensive, but I'm hoping that it gets relayed.
through the network of whatever the, however the system works.
I'm hoping that she can get a, I just, all good question mark.
And I'm hoping that she understands that this is also a, we're alive, we're okay.
It's been a while since we've chatted.
But I send that message.
I stuff the phone into my pocket.
You sent the message.
And you know that Blarby is on her communication device a lot.
And you wait to see if the little bubble pops up.
But not right away.
You don't even, you see the little indicator
that shows that it was sent, but you wait 30 seconds.
You don't yet see the red symbol.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You don't see anything like that.
But you know that she's been busy.
Don't you dare double text, trustee, don't you dare.
I would never, no, never.
You know that she's been busy and you don't have time to wait
and you close your device because of course you have a flip phone
and you put it in your pocket and you step into the facility.
Thank you.
You make your way down the hallway.
The sound of your footsteps on tile echoes throughout this space, but it's all quiet.
You pass door after door, darkened glass shrouding the contents of the rooms behind them.
There is no sound.
There is no movement.
All you see is that one singular light at the end of the hallway almost beckoning you towards it.
You continue slowly, cautiously looking this way or that, looking for cameras, at least if there are any, they're not on display.
They're hidden in the vents or hidden behind the panels, but you don't see anything that would be alarming.
No traps, no holes.
The light from the flashlight gives you the illumination, those of you without dark vision need to traverse this space.
and Frost, you can see, though not in color, you can see well enough to see that it is just a straight shot towards this light.
Eventually, the light illuminates all of you as you arrive at a metal door towards the back of this facility.
The air turns cooler, and the panel on the door says Chimera Bionetics authorization required.
This might be the end of the road here, Mr. Kay, unless you've got something up your sleeve here and doesn't look like we're getting in.
Well, maybe we can bait around somehow, right?
There may be a key somewhere here if we search the office.
Start fucking cutting through it.
I mean, we can't go back now.
How long will that even take you?
Fucking know, I mean, I don't know if it's reinforced.
I don't know if she'd see it coming or she'd be standing right behind it.
It could take hours.
Could be a foot thick of metal.
Come on, I'm gonna take you on an hour again?
I promise you, you're not cutting through this.
We gotta do something, man.
Do we bait her out?
Mr. Gagg?
What is she?
Maybe push her buttons?
She got a bit of a temper like you a little bit, eh?
No, she's not like that.
I's got to hope that it still works.
I'll approach the keypad if there's a keypad there.
Um...
and I was sort of muttering under my breath.
God's, by all the gods.
Labyrinth, please, let this still work.
And I will reach out a finger
and I will press L-A-M-I-A.
Enter.
You press the enter key.
And nothing happens before the panel begins to
glow and pulse.
First, gently, soft green until it gets brighter and brighter,
and then you hear it click in the sound of air
as the door itself unseals and slides open.
Cold air rushes over you.
You feel the chill along your skin as little goosebumps
appear in response to the cold.
The door remains open, and it is incredibly
dark. So much so your dark vision can't permeate through it.
Thank God we have a simple flash.
But it's only 10 feet. It's only 5 feet.
That's true. That's true. That's true. That's fine. Sorry, just for this moment, Derek.
If you'll allow it. I will. Thank you.
So this is, is this like clearly a different kind of roof space than what we've experienced in this like mundane office?
first stepped in, it was much more like the waiting room in a doctor's office. All of the doors
that lined this space, none of them had the same keypad on them. Though it did look like
they could be locked and unlocked, it seemed a lot more simple, much more akin to being led
down the hallway to the specific doctor's room where you would have an examination. But this door
is significantly larger, the glass thicker, the security amped up quite a bit.
And as the cold air spills in around you, you can see the tendrils of the cold air swirling around your feet as it's escaping this room.
That hissing sound that you heard as the door opened draws your attention to the layer of the seal around the door that keeps it completely sealed when it's closed.
And the darkness that's inside is even looking behind you outside of the radius of the large.
light from the single lamp above you.
You can still make out shapes and shadows through it,
but looking into this room now,
you see nothing but darkness.
I will reach into my coat if we are saying
that we are still are armed.
You are armed.
I will pull out my pistol and I'll say,
pay off anything, fellas.
Yes, sir.
I'll take the lead.
Marching order.
Oh, geez.
I'll go first.
Cremies first, then presumably,
it's Torback, Gideon,
me, then Frost.
Yeah.
Right?
Let me write this down.
Not for any reason.
Oh.
You said, Cremie?
No, you ask this.
Torback?
We go anywhere.
Yeah.
I do.
Gideon.
Gricio.
Frosty.
Frost.
And as I sort of stepped through,
I'll lead back to Torbeck is up behind me.
I'll say,
give me a line.
And with my left hand,
I'll hold the torch kind of up over his shoulder.
And I will draw the hand cannon in my right hand
as I fall behind.
The light, as you step through,
the light feels like it's barely able to pierce through the gloom.
The temperature drops considerably,
and you are shrouded in total darkness.
The light struggling to illuminate the space around you.
Your footsteps echo as the floor turns from tile to metal.
You hear a heavy locking sound behind you
as the grinding of metal echoes throughout the chamber.
And the room is flooded with ice blue light.
A circular panel opens beneath you
as a chute of frigid gas billows out.
I need all of you to make a dexterity saving throw.
Oh, shit.
I am only okay at that.
That's what funny.
Fantastic.
Wow.
Come on.
Oh my God.
Yep. No way.
I swear. I swear.
Oh my gosh. Do we get an order from you or something?
You absolutely do. If you are within
10 feet, you get plus five to saving throws while I don't have the incapacity condition.
I got 23. Easy.
14.
With the plus five? Holy shit.
So 28 for me. I probably failed. I also got a 28.
28.
28?
28 just wasn't enough.
No, no, the DC is 12.
What do I add?
What do I add?
Four five?
You also fail.
Oh shit, I'm about to get fucking Han Soloed.
Did you add the plus five from him?
Yeah, I did.
You had a what?
14.
14.
I rolled the natural one.
Oh boy.
So right now I'm at a 14.
Oh my goodness.
Holy shit.
What did you get?
Huge.
28.
No, no.
Oh, 23.
The DC was 13.
So the two of you, Torvick,
saved your life.
Oh my God.
Torbic is a god.
What does that look like?
What does that look like?
Oh, oh, it's absolutely some sort of like,
I don't want to see superhuman,
but it's my lichen senses basically tingling.
It's your preternatural lack of sense.
Exactly.
You would probably call out.
And yeah, and I almost sense it before we all hear it
and see it.
And I like grab Mr. K and pull him back
and I put my arm out and I push Gideon back.
You got a spider sense.
As I got to fall back with it.
The cosmic vision.
And I pull them both backwards.
with me and we actually hit the ground.
Oh, 100%.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Oh, good.
Damn it.
And it's like cold, right?
It's cold.
It's freezing.
As the blue light fills the room
and the frozen gas fills forth,
you realize you're in a cryo freezing chamber.
Fuck.
Beside the huge chamber at the center of the floor,
there are smaller shoots in the corners of the room.
And you see now that there is an observation room
above you behind a heavy pane of glass.
Behind the various panels and speaking into the microphone
is the Raptor Sarian Doctor of Rima Artemis.
She stares at you with nonplussed eyes,
not filled with hate or surprise.
She simply looks at you with a matter of fact and expression.
Dr. Lucreou, you're alive.
Long time, Evie.
Yes, it has been a long time.
And with you.
And with you, zero four.
You're also alive.
You, you know me?
I know of you.
Oh, see!
In the reports, you were said to have died with the rest when 001 escaped.
Interesting.
Two of you returned from the dead tonight.
Look, I've been waiting a long time.
to see your face again.
Did you enjoy the opera?
Or was it not to your liking?
Not my cup of tea, but
it used to not be yours either.
Longworm getting to you?
No, I'm not much a fan for Longworm.
It doesn't sit well with my stomach.
I'm guessing that whatever glass you're behind,
behind.
This won't do a whole lot of good as I wave my pistol around.
No, Mr. LeCrew, it won't.
Maybe I can help with that.
You could try, zero, zero four,
but unless you're equipped with GravTech,
I don't think you'll have much luck.
Yeah.
Damn.
Yeah.
We were always fond of that.
Did anyone have GravTech?
No.
No.
Grav Tech?
Who the fuck has GravTek?
Why don't you gonna ask that?
I was gonna show if that something you have.
I'm Gravete, you've seen gravitate something?
I am a busy woman.
There's a reason that you attempted to poison me tonight,
Mr. LeCrew?
Yeah.
I want you dead, Evie.
Because of what you're doing.
I was able to come to that assumption
because of what I do.
Yeah.
Because of what you do.
you're doing and you know what you're doing.
Molnai sold you out.
It was fucking easy.
I am under no
misconception
that I have Molnaya's loyalty.
Look, so I can't kill you.
Maybe I can try to convince you.
You don't have to keep doing this, all right?
I mean, I don't know why
you even had to start in the first place.
Why couldn't you just
kept doing your things?
thing, experimenting on dinosaurs. Why do you have to involve kids?
It all begins in the cells, Mr. Lucreux. Children have malleable cells. Children
themselves are malleable. Science demands what the science demands.
Look, you can make so much money doing something else. You're a genius. It's not about the
money. You've got to be the best biologist in the entire galaxy. You've always known it's about the
knowledge. I mean, what if, what if we can work together and you and I we can invent, you know,
espadinosaurs or something? Uh, well, we can sell them for almost as much, maybe.
It has always been about the money with you, hasn't it? You don't see the good that will come
from it? There are consequences. It is dirty business.
Things need to happen, but the end result will always be worth it.
If you would just see, if you would just look into the research, you would know that I am right about this.
Look, it's not worth it.
In the end, it will be.
You don't know what you're doing.
I know what I'm doing.
The fucking torment that you're putting these people through.
I mean...
There will always be torment.
Do you know how medicated he needs to stay?
just to feel fucking normal?
Oh, I would like to learn.
And both of you now, here.
Oh, how much I could learn from you.
And you, the failed experiment of my predecessor, 004.
I can't believe you're still alive.
Hey, he's got a name.
It's Frost.
Zero, zero, four.
How much I could learn from you, you're still alive.
And you were the best there ever was, Mr.
Lucreue. It's such a shame to lose you. I'm not going to be a part of this. I never was.
You were. You were. I never wanted to be. Ah, but you were for the money. The brilliant test.
I changed, all right? That man is dead. The LaCrew you knew he's fucking dead. We did assume you
had died to drink. Yeah, you wish. No, I'm very much.
much glad you're alive.
A brilliant chemist like you and experiment zero four.
Oh, the things we could do.
And them.
Hmm.
You could be of use to me too.
No, I don't mess around with none of this crazy lady.
You're fucking sick.
Look in your eyes.
You have dead corpse eyes like a doll.
Doing that to kids.
You make me fucking sick.
and you deserve to be dead.
And what we're going to do to you
is better than what you fucking deserve.
You're very lucky that glass is so thick.
Oh, it's not luck.
It's intelligence.
Only a fool would allow you to enter this place
and not protect myself.
And those unrestrained emotions
are going to be the death of you at some point.
I would ask that the three of you
don't stand in the way of science.
of knowledge, of advancement.
If you could please just step
into those cryo chambers there
and I will transport you
safely to my laboratory.
It will be painless.
And then Mr. Lucre
and zero four and I can proceed.
We won't stay in the way any of that,
but we are going to stay in the way of fucking psychopaths.
So you want to check us out.
You can come down here and take a look
up close and personal.
This really does not.
not have to get messy. It's a simple request. Just press the button there next to the
pops and they'll open. You can step inside. You will remain safe. Mr. Lucreux can confirm
that I am not lying. I'd rather never learn the truth of my past than...
I would like you to roll a Constitution saving.
I'd rather...
Whoa.
12, 17?
Yeah.
I would say with a 17, you pass.
So you don't experience any additional side effects,
but as you turn to speak to her
and your eyes make contact with her eyes,
you see the blue light illuminating the room
that she's standing in and for a second,
you have a flashback of that same,
the table behind her, that stark,
silver, metallic, flat surface,
and you can almost for a moment feel it on your back
as you struggle against binds.
You see that blue light, but in this vision,
it's not blue, it's white, bright, white light
as it's burning into your retina,
and the headache that was at the base of your neck
begins to throb and get significantly more painful.
It doesn't,
you, but it is no longer a gentle,
it is no longer a mild throbbing at the base of your neck.
I'm regretting not taking my medication.
You are definitely regretting not taking your medication.
I'm trying, I'm trying to stay strong,
but I break off mid-sentence and you all see me as I sort of
wobble to the side and I have to hold my-
I first to you, okay lunch!
Oh, oh!
No, I, my head is throbbing.
I don't let her get into your head.
Give her what for?
Tell her what you were going to say, lad.
She can't control you.
I don't want to be at your mercy or any experiment ever again.
I have no interest in bringing you to heal.
I simply want you to come quietly and willingly.
It would be my greatest pleasure if you would see that this is the only way.
I picked up the work of my predecessor.
I picked up where they left off,
and I intend to see it through.
If you don't personally come down here
and try to put us in those pods,
we'll eventually get out,
and we will eventually find you.
I can see this is going nowhere.
Doctor of Rima Artemis looks at you
with a nonplussed expression,
and she begins to press several buttons
on a panel in front of her.
Shame, I would have preferred you to agree
to aid in my important work.
But no matter, this creature is of my own design
and will aid you in your cryogenic stasis.
What must be done will be done.
Deep from within the huge central shoot,
you hear a door open and a bellowing,
trumpeting roar erupts from within.
A hulking monstrosity pulls itself up into the room.
It is clearly a chimeric,
that has been heavily bioengineered.
It is hairy with elements of mammoth, giant sloth,
walrus, ice bear, great ape, among other creatures.
With a strange, glowing underbelly that is equally
fleshy and icy.
There is an eerie intelligence behind its eyes
as it surveys its prey, and then it attacks.
I need everyone.
We'll get the chambers.
Oh, is it too late?
Now I get a natural 20.
Okay, cool.
I need dice.
Can someone doise me?
Oh, where's your bed?
Doister.
Probably over there somewhere.
That's my bag.
Here you go.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
That's pretty good.
Seven.
Give me one moment to get my doise.
Why don't we take a break?
So Andy can draw a battle map.
Yes.
So can you please draw a square room?
And along the walls are pods, like cryopods.
In the center is,
is a large, like, graded chute that's billowing cold icy air,
which is what this creature just jumped out of.
And there are, in the northeast, south and west corner,
smaller shoots also billowing cold air.
Got it.
Hey, everyone.
Andy Flynn here, and I have huge news.
Our next Kickstarter campaign is coming,
and it's called Neon Odyssey.
It's a 1400-plus-page Space Opera Trilogy
for Dungeons and Dragons 5.5E.
It has tons of options for players and GMs alike,
including an entire galaxy to explore 30 plus species, 40 plus subclasses,
a brand new space combat system, and so much more.
It's taken us three whole books to fit it all in.
You can become a VIP at neonrpg.com to unlock a free set of neon knights,
sharp-edge resin dites, and more.
It's only a dollar.
Become a VIP now at neon-rpg.com.
Thank you.
20 to 25.
I got a 23.
No, that's a lie.
I lied.
I lied. I have a 21.
24. That makes sense.
You've either got a 7 or a 9. I can't remember.
I believe you called out 7 was my recollection.
15 or 20.
7. Nobody else?
7. What did you get for Austin Gideon?
Six. Five.
Wow.
If I got a 9, it wouldn't matter.
Damn. Well.
That is what it is.
That said...
I did. Wow.
You're midway.
That said, I am...
Where is it?
When I roll initiative, I can move up to my speed.
Oh yeah, that's a Claudeyrene species trail.
As a Claudaren species trait.
That is so fun.
Because I rolled so low and because of the-
I love the Claudein.
The fate of Frost, this feels very fateful to Frost.
This feels like he is, this is personal.
And it's overwhelming.
His headache is pounding in his skull.
I'm not going to take advantage of that.
I'm going to stay where I am and still be dizzy.
My vision is blurring.
It's doubling.
I'm trying to hold on.
I don't run anywhere.
And that double vision is strange because as your vision, it aligns, but then when it doubles,
you're not seeing two of the same room.
You're saying this room and a room that you recognize, but you can't quite understand why.
as it fades back into the room that you're in.
Oh, that's sick as hell.
That's sick, that's sick. I love that.
Okay, so I'm stumbling.
That's where we're at.
That is where we're at.
This creature jumps out of the chute.
The coldness is almost overwhelming,
as not just the cryo chambers themselves
are billowing forth this cold air,
but the five grates on the floor,
the four small ones and the one large,
are also billowing cold air, but this creature itself as well
is emanating this frigid, icy air around it
as it climbs up out of this grate
and begins to move towards you.
Grico, you are, you know, I will say just for the sake of fun,
there's no surprise round in this as you saw her typing in things.
So you came into this knowing there was a chance
that this could end in a fight,
though this isn't what you expected.
You were prepared, and you are able to make the first move.
I am going to, basically,
I wasn't able to bring my guitar to the opera.
So, but I do have a microphone that I keep in my pocket.
Super simple.
And honestly, maybe it's kind of like the earpiece that I have.
And so I'll kind of like clip it on
or maybe I would have clicked it on.
and I am going to once again run my hands back to my fingers
and my feathered hair is going to get even more light and feathery.
I use as a bonus action my Globlin species trait emotional spectrum.
I'm going to use the yellow color.
I'm shedding light for 20 feet,
and everyone within it has advantage on intelligence, investigation,
and wisdom perception checks.
Oh, yeah.
Um, and, uh, if, hold on, the first time an effected creature misses within attack roll, you can add 1D4,
possibly turning a nice of a new head.
So you have that while you're within 20 feet of me.
And then I am going to use my action as I am going to look, uh, uh, at a Rima.
And I will say, you're going to hold that glasses, shatterproof.
We are going to be baste.
And I'm gonna scream that into my microphone
as I'm then going to take and push that anger and rage
into a shatter at a third level.
You will see as you say this that she is,
she's typing in on a little data pad in front of her
and she scrolls it up onto the wall
and you see your face appear and the name Grico appear next to it.
Emotional instability, anger, rage.
And you see that she is documented.
you as you were fighting.
Oh, boy.
But she seems completely nonplussed by you.
The creature is going to need to make a Constitution saving throw.
Okay.
The DC.
Ooh, natural 19.
That is going to pass.
I believe it takes half, maybe.
Half as much.
So it's going to just take half of...
You said a saving throw?
Yeah.
Okay.
32.
Well, that's fine.
What in the hell?
I am going to, I don't know if this old damage,
it is an area of effect that does can also damage things.
I don't know if it'll damage the sturdy technology
of the cryo freezing chamber, but do that with what you will.
I would say you would imagine that similar to the glass
that it would need something more like gravtech to damage.
I would have figured, I've just, oh, thank you.
But that's a great call out.
This creature is gonna take half of this damage, not a ton.
13, 13, 14, 14, 18.
So half of 18, which is nine.
Nine points of thunder damage.
Nine points of thunder damage.
And I am going to just stay there.
I'm with my friends.
That's my turn.
It takes the thunder damage, but it doesn't,
it doesn't seem like it notices or is affected at all
as it continues to barrel toward you.
It almost seems as if the different creatures
that make up its mass are fighting for dominance
as it's moving towards you.
Torback, it's your turn.
I shout, Mr. K, get back!
As I rush headlong to meet this thing.
And I will take the attack action,
and as a part of that, I can activate my rage of the streets.
Unfortunately, though, normally I would attempt
to grapple as part of my attack,
But this thing is too big, I can't grapple it.
And I also won't be able to use the push feature of my weapon mastery.
So I'm a little bit of a disadvantage here, but I am going to attempt to make three attacks
because I get two attacks as part of my attack, and the range of streets give me an extra bonus attack.
And, uh-oh, uh-oh, attack number one is going to be a 15 to hit.
15 misses.
I could add a D4 if I miss, correct?
Correct.
16. 16 misses.
Okay, but the next one will be a 22 to hit.
That hits.
And then the third one will be a natural 20.
Oh!
So I...
Just a quick work in this.
I put the knuckles on and I move up
and I just start laying into this thing
and trying to beat it the best that I can
because I don't know what else to do.
And almost immediately, my suit jacket splits down the back.
Like it's just...
Oh, yeah.
You get speckled in blood.
You look exactly like not on me.
Yeah.
The location of your eyes.
And I just like a
This is a well-made jacket,
but it was not made for you to fight in.
No.
And it cannot contain your muscles.
That's gonna be five,
five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
11, 12, 13, 23 points of damage,
bludgeoning damage over those two attacks,
even with the crit, unfortunately.
But I will,
be able to activate the sap weapon property,
which will give you disadvantage on one attack
until the end of my next turn.
Okay.
So basically, as I'm beating into this thing,
I'm trying to, like, just catch it off guard
and, like, wear it down quickly
in a way that it's going to have disadvantage
on its next attack, I believe.
I really like this map, too.
Mani, you've been a great job.
Thank you.
And just so you know, the sap property comes from
one of my, oh, street brawler.
I can activate push or sap,
and obviously sap is not available,
so I use, or push is not available, so I use sap,
and it just inflicts his advantage
on its next attack roll before my next.
Sorry, I have to do.
And I'm basically just trying to interpose myself
between the rest of my friends and this monster piece.
I need to ask you quick questions.
Grico, how much HP do you have?
What the fuck kind of question is that, Nicky?
Yeah, sorry.
My HP?
Of course, course.
Oh, God, where do I find HP on this?
At the top.
Oh, sorry, 51.
Okay.
Torback, how much HP do you have?
Total 52.
Uh-oh.
Cryo creature, how much, no, no, never mind.
Cremi, how much HP do you have?
51.
That's right.
Frost, how much HP do you have?
44.
Gideon, how much HP do you have?
51.
Here it is, folks.
Thank you.
Okay, can you tell me again how much damage you've done?
It was 23 points of damage for two attacks,
all bludgeoning.
Oh, excuse me, add two to that.
25 points of damage over two attacks,
one of them was a crit.
And then it has a disadvantage
on the next attack roll that it makes before my turn.
Oh, fantastic.
You see it take these hits,
and it does not seem to,
it doesn't seem to be too concerned by you.
Yeah.
I figured.
I'm going to decide.
Does I want to do this?
The chimera does not concern itself
with the opinions of LICA.
That's pretty funny.
It is, who is in front of it?
It's just, it's you, just you.
It's going to make,
it's not very smart is the thing.
It's not very smart, so it's going to do this
because the alternative is a much smarter play.
It did have the intelligence you mentioned.
Instead of it had intelligence
It does have intelligence behind its eyes.
It does have intelligence behind its eyes.
You want to death if I fucking us up.
But it's not, it's not, it's not,
it has intelligence in the fact that it's not just a drooling,
oh yeah.
You know, thrashing beast, but it's also not strategic.
Fair, fair, fair, fair.
We hit our goal.
Oh, yay, good at least you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you so much.
You're a wonderful people.
No, I'm, it's, you know, it's gonna, it's mad at you.
It's going to attack you.
It's going to attack you.
First.
Let's do it.
And it is going to make both of its attacks against you.
Okay.
This is a disadvantage, you say?
Just the first attack.
Just the first.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
So that is going to be a 17.
A disadvantage.
I wish I could tell you that my AC is 30,
but it is 17, so that's a hit.
But you have activated my track card, Kaiba.
Okay.
When a creature damage is your ally, I have advantage on the next attack role.
Me or my allies, I have advantage on the next attack roll I make before the end of my next turn.
Next, thanks, thanks, thanks.
I am the warden.
Then the other one is a 19, so I think that might hit.
Yeah, that also hits.
So you were gonna take-
Oh, fuck.
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Oh, he was disadvantage on its first attack.
Yes, she's gonna take that into account
and she still clit me.
Yeah, he has a plus 10 to hit,
so I rolled a seven on disadvantage.
Yeah, that'll do it.
I do have to find my D-8s
and I probably should have done that
before we started, but I didn't.
So I now must find them now.
I think I'm missing a D-8.
though. That's okay. I've got one here.
So for the first attack, it's going to...
It's a lot of dice I hear, Nikki.
19 points of bludgeoning damage.
Uh-huh.
Plus two cold, sorry, seven points of cold damage.
Uh-oh. Uh-huh.
And then for the next one.
So 26 of the first.
Yeah, it's using its frigid slam
as it slams its arms down into you.
Totally, six, six, eight.
And then it's 14 plus six, so 20 points of bludgeoning damage
for the second one, and nine points of cold damage.
Well, that's really unfortunate.
I'm unconscious.
Fantastic, I was hoping for this.
It's then going to use its bonus action.
So you dropped to zero hit points.
But you don't go unconscious.
But you don't go unconscious.
go unconscious.
Your body begins to freeze as you watch ice
begin to form all over your body
as you become cryogenically frozen.
Oh!
Can I redo my turn?
It's too late for me to redo my turn.
It's a little late for that.
It's a little late for that.
As this creature, as you watch as this creature
freezes your body in place,
it uses its bonus action to move half its speed
into your space.
and consume you, regaining 15 hit points.
So a whole turn basically was just, okay, yeah, yeah, you got it, you got it.
Go play.
So you're just dead?
You're not dead.
You're at zero hit points, and you are a frozen statue in the stomach of this creature.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's fleshy underbelly.
Yes, and it's fleshy underbelly.
Did you just get one shot?
Yeah.
Well, three shot.
But yeah.
Yeah, well, you got one rounded.
He got cryote.
Yeah, yeah.
You got one rounded.
Yeah.
All right, just check it.
All right.
Just keep them up.
Good luck, boys.
Good luck.
My life.
Now, it has something called Frid Aura.
At the end of its turn, each creature
within a five foot emanation.
Oh no.
Is going to take 2D6 cold damage.
So anyone within five feet of it
is gonna take 10 points.
Do you're gonna roll a death saving third.
Oh, no, sorry, sorry.
Sorry, sorry, no, I lied.
I did 2D8 on that one, but it's supposed to do 26.
Within, what?
You're gonna take four points of cold damage, five foot emanation.
Am I affected by it?
You're probably not.
You are inside of it.
Well, it matters.
You're already frozen.
You can't be more frozen.
For the sake of this, nothing,
nothing is going to drop you to,
nothing is gonna drop you, is going to kill you.
At this point, I would say it is very clear
to those of you that are watching.
and based on what she said about she had other means
to do what she needed.
She is, this is her way of putting you
in a cryogenic state to get you to the lap.
She's not trying to kill you, she's trying to preserve you.
Well, that's very legitimately fair.
Non-lethaly had a giant crime.
You're all gonna have to wait for me.
Me.
Look, my name's cattle.
This is what we call a tactical boo-boo.
We'll lose and then we'll wake up.
We'll all have cyanic powers.
We can play oops all esters.
My life for Mr. K. What can I say?
What can I say?
I said it when I meant it.
I meant what I said.
Get out of the way, Krip.
You know better me than hurt?
But that is the creature's turn, Kremi.
Oh man, this changes what I do probably.
Kermi.
I think I can help to work.
I'm gonna go take a nap, guys.
Well, we probably, I mean, we don't know.
Dirt nap.
We can't, yeah.
I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Oh, great.
Oh, the dirt nap.
I love a good dirt nap.
I love a good dirt now.
Damn, that was impressive.
Thank you.
I'm in awe.
The only way could have been worse if I healed the,
oh wait, I did.
The only way they could have been worse.
As this monster,
as this monster like appears,
I'll see kind of all the classic hallmarks of a Vremah.
As that happens, you watch as yet again another
screen appears and it says Torbeck.
And then it says...
Handsome, loyal...
No. It says, thoughtless, vicious, weak.
Oh, that's fucked up.
Got that bitch in them.
The creatures appearing and I'm like,
a Dr. Autumn is classic.
You always would one for...
Cinematically, I imagine,
it's literally like, get down Mr. Kay.
And then like Jack Sparrow on the boat
by the stashed.
By the crack of God.
Well, cinematically, it's smash and you get half covered,
and I smash half cup, and then it picks you up and, like,
just sucks you in his belly.
And, like, puts you under its, it's fucking, like a reversed
kangaroo pouch.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Brut.
Um.
It's not technically engaged with another creature.
No, not technically.
Well, I mean, I- Oh, also worth keeping in mind you guys,
do not have any protective art because I'm technically incapacity.
Do you need it to be engaged?
Because it is moving towards you,
and you did just get hit by its aura.
So I would say it is technically engaged with you.
No, it's engaged with me,
but I think I needed to be engaged with someone else.
Oh, then no.
I wouldn't count Torbeck just,
oh, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no.
So instead, I'll say, oh my God, Toback, get him out, get him out.
I'm just gonna shoot point blank right at him,
but because I have a heavy laser pistol
at its close quarters,
Nice.
I'm not disadvantaged, and with my bonus action,
I am going to use,
ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.
The feature of the pistol that you use
is that it doesn't have disadvantage in melee range?
Correct. That's really sexy.
Zero-in is a bonus action.
You give yourself advantage on your next attack roll
on the current turn.
You can use a feature only if you have it moved
during this turn.
After you use it, your speed is zero
until the end of the current turn.
So I'm just going to aim and take my bonus action
to really lock in.
as I fire off a shot.
He's got an advantage.
Because I'm advantage,
it triggers sneak attet or sorry,
it triggers a cheap shot.
And special shout out to Lone for the comment.
This is just a monster-sized Sonic enjoying a chilly dog.
That's so good.
That's so funny.
That's very funny.
That's fucking funny.
Oh my God.
Love that guy.
How dare you?
Bravo.
Love that guy.
Amazing.
Amazing.
Amazing.
Oh, hold on, hold on.
So I can't do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do this map for you, okay?
Just remember that, okay?
I-
No, no, no.
I think about how much I love this map.
Unfortunately, the cryo creature doesn't give a shit
about how it is.
Does anybody else think that the cryopods look like little fingers?
26 to hit.
I did, and I like it.
26 to hit?
26 to hit.
Barely misses now that there's someone inside of it.
Okay.
No, I'm just kidding.
It hits.
It hits.
It hits.
His AC didn't change.
Where is my D8?
Am I fucking crazy?
We got some extra ones over here if you need them.
Yeah, I'm missing D8s too.
What is it with the D8 shortage?
Oh, no, here's one.
You've got a bunch of dice behind your cans too.
I need D6s now.
So I've got plenty of D6s over here.
Because it's what to do, what I do, skull dice.
Um, wow.
I actually use these.
Do you think it's a problem if my urine is more yellow than my hair?
Um, I guess.
There's a lot of factors.
I mean, shine a black light on it first.
Shine a black light on it first.
A lot of factors.
I can't say for sure.
Oh, yeah.
Who knows?
All right.
So it is going to deal.
One, two, three.
So I want to use underhanded.
Let me just see here.
That won't work.
Ooh.
That's nice.
That's great.
I love this song.
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 14, 15, 15, 15 points
of poison damage.
16?
Yeah.
As I shoot it off, you'll see this like chem container
in my pistol almost like coat the shot with poison.
And as part of my subclass, when I deal cheap shot damage
to a creature within 30 feet of myself,
I can change the attack of the poison.
Then it have to deal the damage?
It does.
You let the shot go off and as it collides,
the poison seems to have no effect
as it is immune to poison.
Poison damage with the poison condition.
It says cold poison.
For damage of utilities?
Yes. Exhaustion, paralyzed, petrified, poisoned, and unconscious.
We already can play a humble pie here, folks.
Well, where, where that actually?
But Cremie can only do poison damage.
Yeah, that, that, that, that nullify everything other.
Frost, you better go nuclear, bro.
Like, you better, whatever you got up your seat,
now's the fucking time.
You have to, so it nullifies the entire shot, by the way,
because I changed it to poison.
I know. That's why I was asking.
That's fucking.
I was part of this.
And I fire, and it looks like it's a good hit.
It feels like it's dead center.
That's an original classic.
There's no way.
Evie would know to change to make him immune to poison.
You watch as the, you watch as the hit lands,
but all the little droplets of poison immediately crystallize into these frozen icicles and plink to the ground.
So I will, I'll see that happen.
And I,
there's a wry smile on my face as I have this realization.
I'll look up and I'll say,
Cleve legoo.
That's my turn.
Oh, no.
And you'll see, you'll see,
Cremie's face appear on that same screen.
You'll see Cremie LeCrew.
And the only thing she writes is Quick Learner.
I'm going to be completely honest.
I was thinking about role-playing Frost
is not participating in this battle
because...
I'll literally kill you outside.
You know, I can feel...
He has a new torque.
I'm at the base of my spine
and pull it my skull free from my body
predator style if I did that.
You know, you know, you know.
Torbac got one-rounded.
I know where you've talked your car.
So, full health to dead.
No, no, no, no.
Instantly.
To be fair, I rolled really well.
The poison immunity is genius.
That's so good.
Okay, I'm going to stumble all the way over here
And you can hear me murmuring.
I have to slam against the side of the cryotanks
as I am clearly struggling with the amount of pressure
that is building up this headache growing and growing
and growing until it bursts.
And I scream out, is this what you wanted to see, Doctor?
Your work, your work, look upon your work,
look upon it in this bed.
I will burst out and you'll see.
the glass of all five of these cryo chambers explode outwards
if it were not made from the same material
as what protects every month.
But what I will say is you see double
and in one you see the glass completely untouched
and the other you see the glass explode
as you let out this first.
I feel the glass explode.
I'm going to use my bonus action to unleash my size
so to speak, I'll enjoy unbound sigh.
My DC goes up.
I get advantage on attackful.
That's for spells I cast, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And as part of that, bonus action,
a 20-foot emanation.
It's pretty rare.
This is 15.
I think, unfortunately, Cremie,
you're going to be affected,
and I don't know if...
Make a strength-saving throw.
Make a string-saving throw.
The DC's 17.
Oh, Frank.
Wow, that's what I'm lacking, so...
No, you can get it.
The stars are a little real deal.
I don't know if I expect...
affects Torbeck. I assume not. I assume not.
I assume not.
I assume not.
I used my full movement.
Oh, gotcha.
Did you? Yeah.
Where were you here? Yeah.
One and a half three, four, five.
You could hold one more.
Oh, if I can, then I won't hit you.
Okay, that was intended.
And no, it will not, it will not affect Torbeck
as he is inside of this creature.
Small victories.
Okay.
So I don't have to roll my down.
String saving throw for the creature, please.
Sure.
DC 17.
He's pretty strong.
I'm sure it will pass.
No, I got a 14.
He went a plus 10.
Wow.
Really?
Yeah, I rolled a natural four.
So not only does it take 10 points of force damage, it's pushed 10 feet away from it.
I'm gonna say here and then here.
Is that, that's too much.
I'll just say here.
It gets pushed away.
Okay.
You watch the entire creature.
It's pushed back by the blast of psionic energy that arcs out of me.
Like a nuclear explosion.
And at the same time, my eyes, my nose, my ears, my mouth, everything from within my skull bursts with psionic energy.
You've all seen me use my abilities, and it's usually invisible, but I can't control this venting any further.
And the release is visible as the light coming out of my mouth, coming out of my eyes, grows liquid hot.
It's almost wavering, and you can see it almost like a scream.
Mechanically, I'm casting Dragon's Breath, but this is a psionic venting that happens,
and a cone burst out as I scream and smash into the side of this cryo creature, for lack of a better word.
I need it to make a dexterity saving throw, and I'm going to use my sharpened side to make it at disadvantage.
You said it's a damage.
Are you guessing it in a third level?
I'm guessing it at a third level.
Oh, hell yeah.
You said dexterity?
Exactly correct.
Well, that would have been really great
if it weren't at disadvantage.
It has a plus zero to its deck, so it's gonna be a nine.
Good to know.
Good to know.
And so this super hot psionic energy is going to spray into it.
It's going to take eight, 13, 16 points of fire damage,
as this venting releases from my scream.
I continue to reverberate through the space
screaming endlessly as that'll be the conclusion of my turn.
Nice.
You know, hmm.
And I'm hoping that the fire may or may not
have affected it more than it might other.
Well, so here's the thing.
Technically it doesn't have vulnerability.
Vulnerability.
Okay, that's fine.
But I feel like it should.
No, I mean.
So I'm gonna give it vulnerability
because I think it makes sense that fire on an ice creature.
It's your monster.
And because you killed Torbeck in one round.
Well, look, that wasn't my fault.
I'm just gonna say, that wasn't my fault.
The stab-lock said I could do that, so I did it.
When I released stab or whatever.
Instantly killed Torback.
And you said you did 16?
Is it Spike or stab?
Is that the same type of attack?
Yes, I did.
And I also say, not not actually,
this doesn't happen in the canon,
but I also say, do you want to see my impression
of a hot Claude Darren's sub?
Cute.
Cute.
You burst forth with this energy,
and you watch as it begins to sear away
some of the ice and cold from this thing.
And for but a moment, this room that was frigid
is sweltering hot.
Before very quickly the iciness that's billowing up
out of these shoots and from the cryo chambers
and from the creature itself overwhelms the warmth.
And though it did a significant amount of damage,
this creature still seems to be unperturbed.
I'll do better next time.
I don't know what you can tell you.
It does turn to you and ask, please do better next time.
As you see, as you see.
Oh, that's what the doctor writes.
Do better next time.
As you see that the same screen appear
and you see, it doesn't say Frost,
it says zero, zero four.
And on here it says alive.
I keep screaming.
Untrained.
Brutal.
Interesting.
Did he and use your
Kill Cryo creature.
Well, I'm going to be honest with you.
I was going to roleplay this like I didn't have that.
But now I think it's a turban.
I will kill you shot.
I will kill you before Andy gets to me.
Before Andy gets to me, I'm going to.
He's over to.
He'll be like a jackfruit.
I'm all fired up.
I wait,
much like everybody else,
it's pretty fucking astonishing to see
Torrey if I can't fucking eat my giant
nice monster in a second.
But even with that, I think
if it's reasonable to say,
I would think that
my first thought would be
in a room like this
if I feel like there may be
some kind of like emergency override
emergency shutoff valve.
Ooh. Interesting.
For the ice or the freezing and if there's any kind of even like,
obviously like she's got terminal up there,
but if there's any kind of like engineering components
in this room I feel like I might be able to tinker with
to reverse the flow of coolant and heat the room instead of cooling.
I'm gonna say, I won't even make you roll for it.
Looking around, you can see any control for it.
Looking around, you can see any controls
that there would be for this room
are gonna be in the room that she's in
and not in this room itself.
I love where your head's at though.
Yeah.
Gotta think outside the box.
That's my turd isn't fit in the tucks.
You know, I knew you should have studied
to be a grab gun again.
You're gonna fuck, man.
I mean, I thought the turrets from cooler.
You had a grab gun, you could disintegrate that glass.
I mean, Zend didn't carry grab tech,
man, where the hell my whole thing?
Gravetech!
I mean, imagine that glass gone,
Frost could do all of the psionic stuff.
Yes, that would have fresher mind.
Idiot, is there any way for you to reverse the coolant in the room?
That makes sense. That makes that.
I want to make you roll for it.
Oh, they brought my...
Run over here and just drop a big turban.
Can you help out from?
You don't want to get too close.
Oh, you didn't get it.
No, it's, it's in his...
It's in his...
It's in his belly.
Like his peltz.
He had a gross...
Like a kangaroo pouch.
Yeah.
Like the fucking tauntan split open.
Oh, I thought he got like...
I said consumed, but I didn't mean it opened his mouth and, like, swallowed him.
Oh.
It was like...
It just like put him in him.
Is Torrick, like, visible?
No.
And, you know, I set aside all those brochures for Solar Phoenix University.
You just never live.
All right.
Not this again, okay?
All right.
I'm losing it.
I'm absolutely losing it.
It's killing me.
Oh, I drop fucking turret down here.
I've had it with me since the opera probably.
I drop a turn.
You just build one.
You just build one.
You imagine.
Yeah, but you build it in an instant.
Yeah, I build it in an instant.
I take out my dynasty old duel.
My dynastiel, do you.
I'm just picturing you with like a hex wrench
and an IKEA like instruction thing
where you're,
boof,
boof,
boff,
it turrises.
And I,
I roll to shoot them,
to shoot them.
And hopefully that frees
a floorback's at my own.
22.
That hits.
All right.
Hmm.
Oops.
10 points of piercing damage.
Slaps.
It,
and you're doing this
with your turret?
Yes.
You build the turret and you begin,
and it begins to shoot forward
and pierces into the flesh of this creature,
but you do not rescue Torbeck with this damage.
The creature in front of you barely seems to notice
that it's been damaged at all.
Is that your turn?
Yeah, that's it.
He's still in there.
I see this thing get, this thing,
like fucking grab Torbord.
and I know that I'm small.
You are.
I'm gonna try to like get a sense
if I could help Torbeck in any way.
So I'm gonna move toward it.
This may be very foolish.
Oh my God.
And I am going to see...
Roll a perception check.
If I can like...
Doerbeck!
Or roll an investigation check because you're actively looking.
Good thing.
I'm advantaged on those because of my yellow hair.
That's right. That's true.
Thank God.
Thank God, and advantaged.
Thank goodness.
What was the investigation you said?
Mm-hmm.
Or perception, whichever one you want to use.
21.
You look at this, and you can see the outline of Torbeck stuck inside of the belly of this creature.
And you can't see any folds or any openings of where you would retrieve it.
You imagine that it would need to be.
you would need very powerful magical ability.
Potentially something like just outside the game,
something like Greater Restoration could bring Torbeck 2.
It wouldn't necessarily bring him out of the pouch,
but it would at least take him out of the-
Not to spell magic.
I would say depending, dispel magic might be,
I mean, dispel magic could probably work.
Yeah, I would say, or similar,
or similar magic, so I would say dispel magic could work.
But to actually just like remove him from it
without any magical assistance is gonna take
about 10 minutes of intentional excavation.
Sick.
Start liking me guys.
Lick the popsicle.
10 minutes being elbows deep.
Get him out of there.
How many licks does it take to get to the center
of the Torbeck Pop?
One, two.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
crush me, don't crush me.
I'm just gonna try it.
I don't know what else to do.
I don't know what else to do.
That's this word.
So I'm going to look at it and I'll say,
Torbeck!
I'm screaming into the microphone,
Doobet, snap!
I am going to shout into it.
I'm gonna use a third level, I believe.
Oh, I totally forgot to mention this.
She did put in an entry for you, Gideon.
As this is happening, as Grico is looking
and trying to see what he can do to rescue Torbeck,
you watch as she takes some notes,
and on that same screen, you see your face appear.
And it says, Gideon Cole, she writes,
Unremarkable,
Brutish, lax intelligence.
Smell a fucking turt right in front of your eyes out of nowhere.
You got a funny of ten.
It just doesn't apply himself.
I'm the fucking smartest person here.
Stupid, stupid doctor.
And I do apply myself to ribb it in, to box.
I am going to know.
You really should have invested in a grapgo.
I have an intelligence of funny.
I agree.
If I keep, if I may, trust you to spell magic on...
She adds, quick to anger to your note.
And you want to, okay, at what level?
Third.
Okay.
It's all I got.
So I need my second or my two of three.
Does it seem like it's working?
You cannot, do you need to see?
Well, no.
So you're dispelling the magic on Torbeck.
Do you need to see Torbeck?
He's one creature object or magical effect within range.
Within range.
Okay, perfect.
Not that I can see, yeah.
It is.
She had to roll for it.
I.
I shouldn't believe.
Right, because like, Raider Resto would just probably do it.
This is like roll for it and it might just be high-de-c.
Yeah.
Spell of work level or higher on the target, make an ability check using your spell casting ability.
The DC equals 10 plus the spells level.
Yeah, so Nikki can just set a DC based on what she thinks the, you know.
The DC is 28.
Ability check with my spell real quick.
22.
That's pretty fucking good.
That is more than enough.
The DC I set was 17.
So I feel like that.
Oh, wow.
I feel like that beats it.
Wow.
Yeah.
Yeah. To get him out is what you're trying to do?
However, I would say, Grico.
Maybe it would use the frost, we're not sure.
Grico doesn't, you can't tell whether this takes effect or not.
You just reach out and you try to shape the magic around you with the flow of the musical tone, the quality of your voice.
You try to disrupt what's happening.
Using the major cords to break away at the stone, this earth stone, this icy encasement.
that has overcome Torbeck, and you can't see it.
So you're just using your natural musical ability
to try to alter this situation.
And that is all you can do.
Torback, you are frozen.
You feel nothing.
And then you feel like you're burning up.
But it's not the burning of,
it is not the burning of fire,
but it is the burning of ice.
as you come to inside this pouch.
Say you have one hit point,
even though you're at zero,
I'll give you one,
because that was pretty high of a roll.
So you get one hit point
and you find yourself inside this pouch.
I would say you could use your entire turn
to try to remove yourself from this pouch,
but you wouldn't be able to do anything else.
No.
Or you can attack.
Well, hold on.
So I didn't use my bonus.
action. Oh, yes. With that, I would also like to use my iconic inspiration because he only needs to be able to hear me. So after I get him out, and I'm saying, Toman, snap back him! And I would say you do this, but you have no idea whether you've gotten him out yet. Nope, nope, and that's my turn, I believe it's a DA, yes. Got it. And you can also use it for damage rolls and you can turn the damage, change the damage attack type to thunder. I can use it for damage rules? Oh, that's right, that's right. Yes, that's right. My headliner feature.
I wake up.
The last thing I remember is just getting absolutely
hounded and then everything goes black.
And it's just utter darkness.
And all of a sudden I come too
and it's probably still darkness.
But do, I mean, I must realize
that I'm inside this thing.
I would imagine, yeah.
Okay. Well, I am filled with rage
unlike any rage that Torbeck has ever been
filled with. This is just disrespectful.
This was just...
No, it really is.
And as a bonus action, I'm going to use all 30 points
of my reinvigorate.
Okay.
I am filled with an inner fire that comes from me being an enforcer.
And I am going to spend a bonus action to heal all 30 points
and go up to 31.
Probably wise.
Nice.
And then I am, I just start, I start just tearing this thing up on the inside.
I just start, like, I can't claw, like really.
Like really?
It's still me attacking.
I'm going to make two attacks.
But it is me trying to punch my way out of this thing,
assuming the worst I just want to be outside.
So I'm going to attack twice.
The first one is going to be a 27 to hit.
The next one is only going to be a 12 to hit.
Do we know what it's AC is?
Because I think 16 doesn't get it.
Oh, yep.
So I'm going to be just shy.
So just the one hit will get there.
But I am going to add the D8 that Grico gave me.
What's the D8?
So if you roll max...
Oh, you can't add the incline inspiration.
That's better than adding a D8 to the damage.
You can actually have both.
I will try to roll the D4 first,
because I get it for free.
That actually only puts it up to a 13,
which means I need to get four better on the D8.
Pretty good odds.
50. 50.
Four up, four up.
So both attacks will land.
And fucking go.
Which will give me...
That's crazy.
That's pretty good.
12 plus 12, 24 points of damage over two attacks.
That's pretty good.
That's decent.
And so what I think the only two people would see,
are Mr. Kremi and Grico,
would literally see these fist-sized like...
Like bulges, like...
As I am trying to punch my way out.
And you might even hear Torbeck like snarling in there.
Yeah!
Just absolutely.
Come on, big jug!
I will give you the choice as to whether you want to remain inside
or whether you want to free yourself from this thing.
I mean, I use my actions to attack.
Right, no, I understand that.
But with that amount of damage, I'd say if you're trying to escape,
just know that you are then directly in front of it.
Yeah, I mean, if it's, if I am able to punch through
and it basically opens up and I spill out,
I would absolutely take that opportunity if you're giving me that chance.
Yes, you could stay inside or you could get out right now.
I don't care if it eats me again.
Okay.
That's fine.
I would rather be again interposed between the end and Mr.
Cat.
You watch as the soft underside of its belly is undulating with punch after punch from Torbeck.
Come on,
eventually you watch as the ribbed parts of this, the stomach piece,
tear and Torbeck is able to climb his way out.
He's right in front of it.
And he's directly in front of it.
So is this good, do you think?
Yeah, I was going to put him in line with Grico and Kremi.
Like you want to spit more between us?
Yeah.
Or like push Grick over.
Yeah, but maybe it gets pushed over.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right out in front of it between you guys.
Yeah, that's cool.
That's cool.
I am snarling.
I am covered in who knows what disgusting mess.
My jowls are.
Oh, that's a lait, that's a leg.
And that's my turn.
And it is then going to use its movement,
to move around to Grico's side.
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh yeah? I am saving.
In a line? In a line. No fucking way. I'm saving my reaction. I'm not taking an
opportunity attack. I'm saving my reaction. Smart. Oh, that's a good question. I
could. I know what I want to do. No. Hold on. Hold on. Let me just see if I had any
first attack was advantage, wasn't it? Because of your guard dog. Am I about to go? This is his
turn? Is this turn? It technically was.
Fish for a crick.
No.
Thanks for the reminder.
I didn't anticipate having an attack,
so I let it leave my brain.
I will take a reaction.
Okay.
To opportunity attack.
And, oh wait.
No, I have my heavy laser pistol.
It's still in reach.
Never mind.
Okay.
Here's what I'll say.
Let me know if we're going to have to make a saving throw here.
I am no longer incapacitated,
because we have the plus five.
but if anybody fails, let me know
so I can use my pack minded.
That's right.
It'll also give us resistance to the damage.
I'm sure there's no saving film going on.
The creature moves around.
Certainly not.
And you watch as it begins to suck in
all of the cold air that's swirling around you.
You watch as the soft underbelly
begins to expand with the amount of air
that it is pulling in before it lets out
an Arctic exhale to its arch.
inhale and I need everyone in a 30 foot cone,
which I do believe hits frost.
No, hold on, hold on.
Well, 35.
No, one, two, three, four, five, six.
Hold on, hold on.
30 foot cone.
Yeah.
No. There's no way.
That's close.
I don't think the angle's there.
One and a half?
That, right.
Hold on, if he did, if it was coming from here.
I don't think it's about 30 feet.
Well, half, or one and a half, three.
Maybe.
Oh, no, no, no.
Yeah, there's no way.
There's no way.
So very close, very close though.
But it should hit the rest of you.
Mm-hmm.
So the only thing is you don't get the plus five,
unfortunately, because you're outside of 10 feet from me.
It gets better and better.
I know.
If he switches this way and then it won, three.
But if you fail your test, I can help.
I can only pick one person, unfortunately.
So I have to figure out who fails your path.
It's one square here, then three.
Then five, then.
Does it keep going like that?
It keeps going like that.
Oh my God, it might get them.
I think it gets frost too.
I'm pretty sure.
Let me Google what 30 foot cones is.
Can you Google a 30 foot cone like a cone?
Holy image of a cone.
Do we have one of these that looks like a cone?
No, that's all we got.
Just to see how it moves?
Oh my God, we have to look up.
No, it gets smaller at the end.
It tapers off the pet at the end of apparently.
See if you can find another example just so we can hit there.
Because like this one, like see those like,
Some of them do some of the dough.
It's seven across.
Oh yeah.
One, two, three.
No, no, no, you're barely outside of it.
Okay, so basically,
it should be the one that's really good.
It ends right here.
Oh my God.
But I need those of you that are in it
to roll a strength saving throw.
Oh, oh, okay.
The turret is in it too.
I don't know if it matters if the turret does.
The turret does matter because it has hit points.
It does have a plus five.
Cremian and Grick would get plus five.
I might actually be fine here.
Mm-hmm.
I fucking crushed it.
I don't think you can.
Oh my God.
Hit, dude.
Hit.
I got a 24.
22.
Nice.
Oh, plus not.
Plus five.
Well, I think because it doesn't real saves,
it gets just, it just takes the damage.
And it either tries it.
Yeah, that's all right.
It just automatically take the damage.
All right.
So those of you that, so I'm assuming everyone passed.
We all got over 20.
Yeah, 15.
Oh, so you're gonna fail.
So you'll take full damage.
Okay, so I'm gonna then use my reaction
to use pack-minded to encourage the ally.
He gets to add 1D6 to the target,
possibly turn the failure to his success,
and then when we get, me and the target,
gain resistance against that damage.
Oh.
That's great.
So I'm gonna flavor this as almost like
I'm stepping in front of it to like,
almost take some of it for you,
because you're farther behind me in the gun.
17?
18, because it was 15.
There you go.
Plus 4, and then 3.
The DC was 17.
18.
What's the range of your aura?
No, the Pac-Mind is 30 feet.
The R is 10 feet.
I'm definitely outside of his aura, yeah.
Got it.
But I beat you with that.
So we'll take quarter damage to the half.
Hell yeah.
Amazing.
The rest of you will take half damage.
Okay.
And it is, hold on, I have to do this.
My suit jacket is completely torn away.
Can you guys cast me some D-10s?
and one of the sleeves is like down around my wrist,
but there's no more suit jacket.
Just one sleeve is less.
Let's play a Mecca Camp, yeah.
Actually, hold on.
Oh, you got it, yeah, me got them.
How many more.
Just pass those back when you're done?
Oh, let me see.
So three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Okay, I don't want the D100s, they confuse me.
So I'm gonna pass those back.
Any more?
Maybe, here's another one I'm passing back.
I have a regular one that's not a hundred.
I wanna pass that down.
Thank you.
This is another 100.
Oh, yeah, I use a lot of hundred.
There's another 10 with no hundreds.
I need two more.
Oh my God.
I've got you.
I've got you.
Thank you.
Uh-oh.
Everybody gave...
How many do you 10s?
It is, oh no, I need to give you two back.
I need to give you two back.
Eight D-10s.
It's eight D-10s.
I could still get one shot here.
Oh yeah, me too.
No, I can.
Eight.
You're full of all, right?
I take it four damage.
Can I do that math around?
Yes.
Oh no.
Yeah, I can't get more.
She was rolled total max damage
and I would still have a few hit points left.
So I have to 16.
27, I rolled very poorly.
Wow, wow.
I rolled, I rolled three, three, three, two, one, four, seven six.
No fucking way.
Yeah, they're right here in front of me.
So that should be 27.
So half of that is cold damage.
And then half of that is six.
Damn, okay.
Guys, we might-
And it pulls you 15 feet towards the ice monster.
Whoa.
Even if you pass?
Oh, no, not, so if you pass, it doesn't pull you.
Holy smokes.
Oh, so it's like a vortex.
Yes.
Oh, polar vortex.
It's sucking in and then, yeah.
That's cool.
And so that is what happened.
I'm just gonna keep these just in case it every charge is that.
Oh, what does it?
That would be bad.
I mean, who knows?
Oh, no, that's fine.
Oh, so would it suck the turret?
So maybe?
Would the turret like get closer?
Yeah, so the turret would have taken 27.
You should go to.
How much does it move?
15 feet towards the ice monster.
I'm back in the building again.
And that is, that is, that is,
Its turn, yep, that's its turn because it can't.
Oh, and then so now it's the end of its turn.
And so there's a frigid aura,
so everyone within a five foot emanation
is gonna take.
Just-grico.
Damn.
Three points.
I rolled one in a two, three points of cold damage.
And that's the cryo creature's turn, Cremie.
I will look up at Rima and I'll say,
This isn't gonna end the way you think it will.
You're still that scared, desperate little girl on Virida.
Look, you can make all of your critters immune to my drugs,
but you can't make them immune to my blood.
Results to threatening when scared.
And I will turn to the creature,
and I'll just sort of stare at it, like, dead in its eyes
as it's like slavering down at me.
And my eyes will turn almost,
like pitch black as they kind of crackle and fire
as I'm going to use the beam aspect of my Gorgon's gaze.
And these crackling kind of green and gray black beams
will fire from my eyes.
The target needs to make a deck saving throw.
Okay.
We know that it has zero to decks.
He's not super bulky.
I rolled a natural 13 plus zero.
15.
Well, it fails.
Isn't no much damage, but...
Oh, it was a bonus action.
Yes. Shee!
Never mind. Okay, this is...
Whoa.
Seven points of damage, exactly average.
Of necrotic damage.
Maybe she didn't make it a meter.
This is necrotic.
All right. You let loose this.
So what was this again?
It was seven necrotic damage.
Is it effectively?
No, necrotic damage.
How were you doing this ability?
This is my gorgon eyes.
Basically, I'm shooting, I'm using my gorgonite
You open up your eyes and you let forth these necrotic blasts
from your eyes and you watch as the,
this dark necrotic icker begins to eat away
at the ice encasing this creature.
But just as quickly as it does,
you see the ice overtake any of the necrotic wounds.
It does take the damage.
It's not negated in any way,
but it doesn't seem to affect the creature all that.
He's beginning to look bloody.
Then with my action,
what I will do is I'll take my gun
and I will turn a knob on it
and you'll see it like disengaged with the poison.
And I'll say that should do the trick
and I will fire off and make an attack against it.
That is a 14.
D4.
Okay.
Yeah.
Oh, sure.
You're in the range of my light.
Oh, my God.
I get three, four.
Four.
I hit.
And it is going to connect with this thing.
It's engaged with me.
It is engaged.
And I'm not going to change the damage type.
It is just going to do its normal laser damage,
which is radiant.
So I'm not great.
That's okay.
Three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven.
Twelve points of radiant damage with my lap laser bullet.
It takes the blast directly to its soft underbelly,
but it is continuing to bear down on all of you.
I'm going to basically one.
I'm going to start to move out of the way
seeing that this thing has an AOE thing
and get, presumably she's like up here is my guess.
So like I will sort of just,
I will kind of like just slowly walk towards her
and like look up at her.
And it's my turn.
Is this an empty hole though?
Isn't this the-
It was supposed to be a great.
Oh, that's what it came up out of it.
It's not still open though, right?
No, I would say the greatest close.
I will race across the room.
There's no line of escape.
I am still screaming.
I am focusing and targeting that scream.
It is pulsing forward in waves.
A massive blast of energy comes out of me,
but I try to focus that energy, untrained,
perhaps as though I may be, and to turn up the temperature
to decrease.
create this heat. The first is going to be a bonus action to use my unstable wrath,
which every creature in a 20-foot emanation has to make a strength saving throw,
including Kremi. So strength saving throw, DC-17.
What's the emanation? And Grico. Yeah. A natural 13. You said strength plus 10, so 23.
I fail. You get plus five? I... There's no way. Okay. It's not half. And Torbeck.
All right. Because it covers.
that half of his square.
If not half.
Oh shit.
Oh boy.
What was the DC?
17.
I fail.
I got a 14 because I roll four.
I roll two sixes.
Yikes.
12.
How much damage?
Six.
12, force damage.
And it's half if you succeed.
Or is it none if you succeed?
None if you succeed.
Okay.
I'm good.
So that actually is effectively worthless.
I will spend a side point.
Shit.
Oh, I'm sorry.
I'll spend two.
It's two.
I hope for the monster.
Yeah, I've helped the monster at this point.
But that's the nature of a warhead being as reckless and chaotic as they are.
I'm not caring as much of my friends.
I want to, but my vision is doubled and I am screaming forward as I will use my action,
my magic action, to enjoy Dragon's Breath again.
I need it to make-
You see this creature in front of you and for a second you see standing in front of you
a doctor in a lab coat.
You shake your head and you realize,
no, it is just this creature.
Oh, wow.
Oh, I may have been in this lab, or a lab like it.
And it compels me to destroy this creature.
Dexterity is saving through a disadvantage for me.
DC 17.
Okay, 15.
I rolled two fives plus 10.
Oh, no, dexterity is zero.
So just five.
Five, five.
That's going to be.
16 points of fire damage.
Nice.
Okay, I'm so.
Ooh.
As I continue to try my best to contain the pain
that is racing out of my psionic mind and out.
What does that look like as you're doing this?
I would like to, it's almost Dr. Manhattan.
Like I am, like I race forward because I'm following the creature.
But as I'm doing that, I'm holding my arms out.
My eyes and my mouth, my, my, uh, uh,
Every part of me is shining with psionic light,
but you can see the air itself is being warped.
I'm superheating what I'm charging into this creature,
but there are still pulses, that throbbing headache
that's coming off of me as arcs of energy.
And I'm sure that I'm hurting my friends,
but that is actually a very soft,
a small voice in the focus that I have to try
and crush this creature.
with my unstable abilities.
Yet again, bits of it melt away,
but very quickly freeze over.
As the room, it gets so hot for a second
that all of you feel a trickle of sweat at your temple
before it quickly freezes and turns to little icicles
as the room descends into cold yet again.
Frost, that is your turn.
All the while, the doctor is still just making notes.
Gideon.
I look at all this cold piping around me,
and I break some of it off,
and I hit it with the dinah steel dude,
and I form Mr. Freeze's gun from Batman
the animated series.
Okay, I buy it.
I run up here, and I swing it around,
and I fire from the barrel withering lightning.
Oh shit.
It'll charge and travel for a minute.
And then I'll pull the trigger in a burst of arcing lightning
will fire out, which will flow continuously from me
until the target, I assume that I hit it.
I don't think so, I don't think so.
I think like a nine.
Now that misses.
I will then bonus action and just have my turret shoot it.
Okay.
That'll hit.
And that is to me.
You see as she writes, incapable relies on creations.
Okay.
I was on fucking super cool equipment.
Bad ass stuff.
Anyway, seven points of piercing damage.
Relies on his own inventions.
Your ability to create and build.
That's cool and fine.
She's not very good scientist, Cremie.
Pretty bad at research.
She's trying to call you a tool.
My thing.
Well, she's dumb.
Shallow grasp on simple language units.
Brutal.
Damn.
I'm gonna be real mad about that if he could read.
And the monster continues to barrel forward, Grico.
I...
It is breathing its frigid breath down upon you.
If you have somebody set this up,
I'm gonna go fucking clear on the pitch.
Because I'm gonna leave it all the floor.
I'm not making another route.
That's all I'm gonna say.
So if you can set up anything, I am going to tee off on this mofo.
I want to see one thing.
Yeah, take it time.
I'm not telling you to play your turn.
I'm just playing it up for our audience.
Okay.
Trying to keep everybody engaged.
I'm going to pop off.
I try to do it a kid, you know?
No, no, no, I'll have you been on my first attack roll, so I'll roll double ones.
But thank you for that, Derek.
You're welcome.
For putting that into existence.
It's going to happen.
Speaking that out of the world, thank you.
You're gonna pull my spine out, predator style.
No, I would never do that.
Ew.
Yeah.
I am going to look up at Avrima and say,
Kravies ride, you made a mistake thinking that you can so easily take care of us.
We're not gonna go easily even if you freeze us.
We're not gonna be part of your experiments.
You soulless, heinous bitch.
As I stream into it, and I am going to,
um, going to, uh, say,
Milan is gonna turn your BC in a dog show.
And I am going to use that, and I say that into my microphone.
I'm going to cast slow on this creature
at a third level, my final third level spell slot,
as it's going to be a 40-foot cube,
but I think I can just position it right here, right?
Does it, or do the house?
No, we have to be able to see the point.
Oh.
So you could put it in this corner here,
but that's like the farthest spot, right?
40-foot cube is what?
It's eight squares.
Jesus.
I can't do that, though.
I can't do that.
I love where your head's at though.
Well, the center of it, it's 40 feet wide,
so you could actually place it here,
and it would be its whole thing,
and then half it would just be in there,
but that's the center point.
It should be okay.
No, no, but if you can position it.
Okay.
Oh, no, no, no, you have these four.
No, no, sorry, I did the math around.
Can I do it here where Disgis Frost?
Yeah, I'll do that.
Yeah.
And I'll take it too.
I'll roll back some too.
Well, no, if you do it there, hold on,
then you could do it.
You have to make it so one of the ends is cute,
right, and clips it here.
Five, ten, fifteen, twenty.
Well, no, so it's the, the cube is,
basically the whole cube is 40 feet.
So it'd be, if you did it like,
one, two, three, four.
That's just 20.
You're getting either me and Frost or,
yes, you can do both of us.
You know what?
Fuck it, I said it, I'm gonna do it.
I'll do it to wear, just to avoid Torback.
You'll hit Creamer Crewe and Frost.
Okay, I'll hit you guys.
Yeah, that's fine.
And so you all need to make
with some saving throws.
I haven't taken any damage.
Whiz, you say.
And it needs to be a winning throw.
It does?
Yep.
16?
Yep, I failed.
Sorry.
17.
Oh.
I rolled a natural 14 plus three.
Well, so it just hits my friends.
I just did this.
We gotta have a conversation about friendly fight.
Yeah, we do, we do.
Team meeting after this.
Team meeting.
I will see that it is in an effective.
I can drop a concentration on it.
Oh yes, you can.
So I can't.
People are saying you pick.
the targets. It is creatures of your choice.
Oh, oh. Oh, my choice, great.
So he just chooses the thing.
Okay, I just choose him. And it passed.
It's best. Okay, good.
Well, that's...
As then I'm going to use my bonus action
to just use iconic inspiration.
I'll say, fuck him up, Tobach!
And that is my turn.
And I'll step aside.
You have iconic inspiration.
Thank you.
And I'm going to use my Sonic Frenzy.
Sonic Frenzy, and it is going to just give me some temporary hit points and other things.
She takes another note, relies on expletives to seem powerful when desperate.
As my friend steps aside, like a well-oiled machine, I immediately rush forward, and I'm going to begin by using my attack action to make two attacks.
The first one is going to be an advantage. I'm basically hoping to create here and use my Cosmix.
cosmic smite, cosmic conduit to use it for free as well.
But we'll see here.
Here we're leaving you.
Damn.
I got an 18 plus 9 is 27 to hit for the first attack.
That hits.
The second attack will be a 17 to hit.
Hits.
And I will still use a bonus action
to cash in on my cosmic judgment.
I always have cosmic spite, which is divine
my spell prepared.
But in addition, I can cast it without expending a spell,
slot once per long rest, which I will cash in on now.
Great, great. So that's going to be 2D8 for the first attacks and an additional 2D8 from the
cosmic smite. You watch the first hit lands squarely on this creature's face.
And the second one, I come up with an uppercut trying to see how much damage I can do
his jaw. And there's a flash of light as I connect, as I channel this inner rage that I have
as a renegade enforcer and cash in on my free Cosmic's might?
Not bad, not bad.
That was 9, 10, 11, 12, plus 8 is 20, plus 32 points of damage.
32 points of damage.
Nice.
Over, basically what is equivalent of three attacks.
Hell yeah.
The, technically.
Not bad, not bad.
If the damage matters.
Radiant and physical.
Yes.
The radiant damage is 11 points of radiant damage.
Or bludgeoning.
Yeah, bludgeoning, yeah, bludgeoning.
You slam your fists into this creature,
and you see that it is up this close,
you see that it has weakened significantly.
You imagine that it is barely holding on it.
And it will be set, so it's next first attack
is at disadvantage.
That's true.
It's just a cry okay.
It's stern.
Right.
And it's not slow.
Come on!
And I'm just like in its face.
Like I don't care if I could eat again.
Like Torbeck is here to lay down his life for his friends.
That's all that matters.
Damn.
Um,
Derek, please, please look at the D6.
That is a six.
Uh-oh.
Um, was it to recharge.
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
Um, you watch as it.
Also, you guys take damage.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, how much?
At the end of her turn.
At the end of its turn.
At the end of its turn.
Not after each turn.
I don't think it'll need it.
It is going to breathe in as it lets out a huge Arctic inhale.
I need you both to make strength saving throws.
Yep.
Oh my God.
Well, it's probably, I mean, if it, I don't know,
you're the angle guy.
Can it hit like most of the room?
Yeah, it would turn into as many of you as possible.
It's backed into the corner.
So I mean, it would have to make a choice, right?
The corner's like there technically, right?
It's already like, you know, technical.
Well, it's still, would the pony
they come from outside of that?
Right.
It's at the most, it at least wants to hit Grico and Torp.
Yeah, I think, I think that like,
it would probably just go this way
if it wants to hit both of that.
Strength.
I got a 26.
I'll just pre-empt.
Okay.
You get that's five.
19.
Okay.
So, you're going to take.
It's a mute of frost damage.
You had a good run, turret.
Two, four, six, eight.
He's not amused my damage.
I knew me well.
Oh, that's very funny.
Thank you.
Does your name is probably.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, I said frosted instead of cold damage.
This is not World War Graff.
It's okay.
It's been a long day.
I love nature damage.
That's my favorite type.
Yes.
And then I deal arcane damage.
He's immune to crimy damage.
And then my cast frostfire and he is
frostfire damage.
Oh, I rolled really high.
I'm so sorry.
I have to do this one again.
That's all right.
That's 20.
Just don't.
It's already dead.
Hold on.
The whole point of this basically,
what's your overkill damage right now?
That's 40.
To die on this bottom.
No, that's gotta be like 80.
I don't wanna speak it into existence.
I'm aware of what it is.
We also know this is like non-lethal.
Because I don't want anyone cheating.
Oh, that's true.
We're trying to be captured.
We know that this is not like kill you guys.
You dig.
57 points of cold damage.
I'm not over killed.
I'm not over killed.
I'm not over killed.
But I took half.
So that's not.
Close.
Yeah, you're good.
You're good.
I am unconscious, though.
And by that, I mean, probably frozen solid.
Yeah, I mean, I definitely dropped to zero.
I only had 13 left.
What was it 31?
I got hit for 12 from Frost.
And then I took 50-something, well, I guess,
20 something, 26 points of damage.
So it's all good.
Zero.
However you would like to do that, Nikki.
I am unconscious.
You immediately, you immediately freeze into place.
There's no way.
I have 11 hit points left.
There's no way.
He succeeded.
Yeah.
It then uses its bonus action to move forward
and pull you into its stomach,
healing 15 hips.
Son of a bitch!
Oh!
I am trying so hard!
And then it is going to,
it's frigid aura, is going to radiate out and do.
Oh, that bitch, yeah, bitch.
Oh, I roll back, sorry.
Cuts.
I rolled Mac.
God. Sorry, that's on me. I spoke that one in existence.
Andy, I will rip out your spine like the president.
Both of us. That's good. Am I frozen?
You are frozen solid. So I am standing in fucking
Han Solo and carbonite in a block of ice. I will mark
myself with a blue, with a lovely coat of T-10 to signify, I am frozen
solid. Look, they just got to bring it across the finish line here.
They just got to take it across the finish line. Well, you got to stop
peeling them.
That is the Granger's turn.
And I think I just like a hundred and twenty damage.
I've done like 10, so I can't, you know.
Cremmy.
I just, this is not going.
No.
It's all I'm going to say.
This is not going well.
Frost is screaming and hyperheating the air.
And I'm getting blasted by that.
Torbik just got consumed again.
I don't know if he's alive or dead.
Bricko is frozen solid.
I'm a nice cute and um oh man like I think just mechanically I should just
shoot this guy it's probably the best thing I can do shoot time so you're
then you do whatever kind of scoundrel trickery you do it's not engaged because
you both technically are like unconscious right or incapacitated yeah yeah yeah
yeah they're no longer in combat you're why you're both a guy on
oh it's frozen oh yeah yeah yeah get with us leave them out of this I'm gonna look up at at
And I'll say, look, if you just need me and you let them live, I'm willing to talkin'
Beastie down.
And I'm going to shoot, I'm going to bonus action, steady aim, and I'm going to fire.
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
This time you see her take notes that she does not broadcast.
Wow.
I no longer had the aura, the globaled aura.
Oh, no.
All the auras are gone.
No, no, we lost like 50,000 aura points.
Oh, yeah.
You only have the aura until you succeed
and then you stop benefiting from it, right?
The first time of return.
Well, until you use it.
No, period.
Oh, period.
Oh, period.
Yes.
No one's, we didn't bring it.
Torbeck used it.
Did we cheat?
Only once.
16 points of radiant damage.
You imagine that if it had not been able to heal itself,
that this would have been enough.
Oh, son of a gun.
I'm not here fighting for my life!
Life!
Um...
But it is able to take the hit
and continue to barrel down on you.
Incredibly wounded, but swirling with frost.
Not this frost.
My speed is now zero because I used...
I used zero aim.
I used zero aim.
Intentionally.
I can't help you.
This is Cremi's penance, man.
This is...
That's fair.
Bro, yeah.
Oh.
Oh.
and I'll just say, if this is about me paying for my sins,
then let me do it.
That's right.
I should be out of breath, but my scream is endless.
As I continue to focus this rage, this feeling of,
I'm projecting all of the feelings of uncertain
and fear and confusion and the strange psionic well that is within me all onto this creature.
It represents its emblematic to me of what the doctor did, of the experiment, of everything that we've seen in the last few days.
And my feet almost lift off the ground as the superheated energy that's coming off of me
strengthens and intensifies and slams into this creature.
I'll use unstable breath as a bonus action to start.
Strength saving throw for you and for you, Kremi.
DC17.
A natural 15 plus 10, so 25.
Just the matter that, I hope I fail this.
Go flying in the cryo chamber.
I fail.
You take seven points of force damage and you fly back 10 feet.
You smash against the wall.
Oh.
How much damage?
Seven.
Seven.
Then I'm going to, instead of using Dragon's Breath,
I'm going to cast at third level scorching ray.
And it's going to be four beams of fiery,
super hot cyanic energy fly forward.
Let's just see how the first three go.
I'm picturing it like combustion, man.
Oh, yeah.
That's actually sick as hell.
That was a natural one.
This is going to be a...
Sparky, sparky boom there.
Yeah, that's right.
Where am I?
23 to hit.
That hits?
Do we know what the AC is?
17.
17.
That's a 16.
Let's try one more.
Oh!
It's an 18.
I'm a Claudera.
I'm going to use Perigon's blessing.
No, ferocity.
When I make an attack roll and roll in 18,
I can make it a critical hit.
This is now a natural 20.
Then I will roll my last one.
Gotta give it up.
And it'll be another 18, so it already also hits.
So I'm going to roll 2, 4, 6, 66.
Nice.
Approaching fireball.
Yeah?
That's going to be 16, 17.
And that was...
Two more, right?
Just two more, just two more.
17 plus 8 is 25 points of fire damage
as I focus my energy tighter and tighter and tighter,
just continuously.
It's no longer just raging around me.
Yes, I blew back, crammy in this moment,
but as I lift off the ground,
the heat gets more and more intense
as I push into this creature.
You lift off the ground and you let out multiple blasts
of this fiery psionic magic as your scream
is endless.
You are stuck in almost this mental prison
where the room that you're in is shifting back and forth
between the room that you know it to be in a room
that you know that you should remember
and that you should be able to feel
or you should be able to describe,
but it's still unfamiliar to you
while being familiar at the same time.
You're hearing the sounds of this creature,
these strange, animalistic, beastial noises,
but you're also hearing it drowning out
what is a human voice, a voice you recognize, but you don't remember.
And all of it is making your head throb and pulse.
The sound of your heartbeat is so strong now.
You can feel it in your neck.
As you scream and let out this blast.
And for a moment, as white light fills this blue-lit room,
everything is quiet.
For just a single moment, everything is quiet.
before you hear the sound of its soft stomach rip apart,
and the two forms of your friends clatter to the ground.
That clattering sound, all you hear for a moment is everything else is drowned out,
and then you realize that that clattering sound has turned into the click, click, click sounds
of nails on a keyboard, as once again that screen pops up,
and the zero-zero-four, and your picture is next to it.
words being typed in incredibly powerful,
mentally unstable, dangerous,
further experimentation needed.
If I see that the creature is dead.
And the creature is very clearly dead on the floor.
This room is the ice cold air is rising up
out of these grates, but it's so warm in here
from the psionic blast
you just let out, that as it rises up, this almost crystalline air immediately evaporates into
steam, turning this room into almost a sauna for about a minute or so before the cold
overpowers the remnants of that heat and the temperature begins to drop again.
I'll drop to my knees with a crack against the tile and scurry back into the corner as the waves
of pain and psionic energy continue to flow through me. If anyone was in, would
was within the range, they'd have to make a saving throw.
It would as I continue to,
ah, ah, ah, stay away from it.
You actually, as this energy subsides
from pouring out of me.
You practically collapsed the ground,
the pulsing in your head, that headache
getting so much stronger.
The two of you practically blasted up against the wall
as you watch your two,
frozen friends spill out of this creature.
And it is mostly silence as you hear some more
of that gentle tapping, but whatever she's typing
is not displayed.
As Avrima's observing expression doesn't change.
She simply leans forward into the microphone.
Shame, I was particularly proud of this design,
As I cannot overpower you, being outnumbered as I am, I will let Nexus security deal with you.
Goodbye, Mr. Lucreux.
You're not going to get away with this.
She presses a button, and suddenly the icy blue light turns to a bright red as a siren roars to life, blaring throughout the facility.
Avrima quietly clicks off the mic and steps away from it, walking through a side door calmly.
It closes behind her, and you are left alone with the corpse of the beast in the melting ice of the cryo chamber.
of us are gonna escape our pass.
Grimmie, can you stand?
Are you all right?
We gotta help him.
Yeah, I gotta get to the other two.
Are you okay?
Go, go, go, go.
Tourbeck and Grico.
And as I'm running over there,
I'm gonna manufacture a thermal blanket.
And I'm gonna make it, try big enough to get around them
and thaw them one at a time
as I'm wrapping them up to get them out.
out of this icy condition and attempt to stabilize them.
They are, for the most part, stabilized,
but you imagine it's gonna take probably 10 minutes
to thaw them.
So you throw the blanket over them
and you realize that during this time,
this is all the time that you're gonna be able to spare.
You need to figure out what you're gonna do
to get out of this place.
Cremie, I would say you know almost immediately
that that siren is,
no good and that Nexus security will very much be on their way and you are running out of time.
We gotta go.
Just, um, I'm gonna run over to Gideon and I'm just saying, give them these and there's nothing
mechanically, I'm just encouraging you to use cure one of those on either of them.
Oh, they're still fucking frozen, right?
Well yeah, but I'm hoping that this- Because right now they're at zero hit points.
Right.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, I'll do that.
I'll give them what growing up.
So you imagine you're gonna thaw them out,
but they will be unconscious when they're thought.
Why, that's the long thing?
We're playing dolls.
Are you, are you still?
Frost is on the ground.
His head is throbbing, but it is slowly getting better.
I'm calming a little bit, but I would say that my vision
finally clicks back into place.
And when the sirens click on,
that's when I'm able to sort of snap out of it.
I get to my feet and I'm at your side.
I don't mechanically have any way to help.
I can provide emotional support perhaps, but.
I will, while Gideon is administering the drugs
to Torbeck and Griswell, I'll turn to Frost,
I'll put a hand on your shoulder.
You okay, Frost?
I will have my own bottle of your pills
and I'm gonna pull it out of my jacket
and I'm gonna put four into my hand
and I'll take these.
I'm pretty far from okay.
What happened.
And I'm going to curl your fingers closed around your hand.
And I'm going to say, medicine, when we're free, I may need to access more.
It hurts, but we have to get out of here.
And if I need to, I may need to use these powers again.
Please, later.
I need you just to not fucking kill yourself, Frost.
You understand?
I'll be careful.
All right.
If you need to, you take four at once.
It won't kill you, but...
Jeez.
He's not gonna feel good.
And I'll put the back in the bottle,
and I'll put it in my coat pocket.
I'll nod.
You two grab Grico, man.
I'm gonna take Torbett.
We gotta get the fuck out of here.
Just back the way we came.
And all...
Cremies handed me a...
Whatever you would have handed me.
Pills?
It was some sort of, like,
gas, I think, like, almost like smelling sauce.
Ah, maybe even like a...
like a breather.
A breather. A manufacturer.
Nice.
And I put two on each of your phase.
You inhale this gaseous that comes through it.
You heal 13 points.
Oh, hey.
You heal eight points.
Narratively, I will, I will, because Torbeck's big as fuck,
I will reach down and try and like best I can grab one of your arms
and sling you over my shoulder and pick you up kind of back onto your feet,
maybe stumbling a little bit.
as ideally we try and move out of here.
I don't know if the door seems like is locked.
The door seems to be sealed.
Are you still frozen or are you just unconscious?
I'm frozen.
They're frozen and technically unconscious,
but they're not a zero hit points anymore.
It takes about 10 minutes.
We're slowly to frosting.
So in 10 minutes, they will be back.
The normal one under warm up or wrapped within it.
Under one side of Grico.
You are going to have to figure out
how to escape this room with the door locked from.
Is there a panel?
Is there a panel on this side of the door in the room?
The door is still locked.
Yeah, she locked it behind you.
You were trapped in this room.
The cops to show up.
And she, if it hasn't been a minute, I...
I would say it's definitely been a minute.
Can I use the very last of my unbound sigh and my dragon's breath to try to sionically open the door?
Absolutely.
Just try to crush it.
I don't know.
Who cares about a minute for that?
Okay, it makes a saving throw.
It makes a saving throw.
The doors can't do that, so the door fails.
So I'm gonna just roll 6D6.
Yeah.
No, I love that.
11.
You do not, you watch as Gideon is,
I'll say, you know, for the sake of this,
Gideon, you take all the strength that you have
to grab both Grico and Torbeck.
And you are attempting to carry them out of this space.
As Frost, you do not have time for this.
You turn your attention towards this door,
and you had just told Cremie that you need
to be able to harness
disability. You wipe some of the blood from your nose that's now streaming. You have some
streaming out of your ears in your nose. I have blood and I'm thinking of
where I've seen that before as I crumple the door like a soda can. You do. As I deal
29 points total damage as I just go and I crush it and throw it to the side. It bursts
through into the office. I imagine that it crushes a desk and flies to one direction.
You watch as it flies and skids down that lone, darkened hallway.
The light, once it gets to the doctor's office at the very front,
the light from outside that open, that door still open,
shines hitting the metal of the door,
almost illuminating the room.
And it's as if almost you have a beacon to follow
as you begin to rush out of this room and out into the night,
attempting to stay just one step ahead of Nexus security.
I'm struggling to carry, Gricko.
You were all weakened and they're heavy and you're tired.
I will put my arm under the other side of Grico
and try to.
We're like pivot.
Come on, Tom, Torbeck.
It takes significantly longer to get down the hallway
in your weakened state.
And by the time you reach the darkened waiting room office area,
or that waiting room area,
Torbeck and Grico you are finally coming to.
You're incredibly weakened,
but you guys are able to put them on the ground
and continue to run out into the night,
though you do have to go a little bit slower.
But you do finally make your way out of the medical facility.
I got to get you, I'll give you shit.
Is everyone alive?
Don't move too quickly.
We can talk to the car.
Lay your body warm up.
We gotta get back in.
We got no time to stand out.
Did we get her?
Did we kill her?
No, we killed her.
No.
Barely got you guys out of there.
We gotta go.
You recap afterwards, back to the Berry Six.
And I'll regain my feet and slowly like,
oh, and cracking out my legs, my frozen bones.
Stead.
When you move, it's like twisting.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'll pull the thermal blanket a little closer
as I'm still hanging on Gideon
and I start to move on my own with this help.
Finally making your way out of the medical facility,
you find Bernard Speeder still there,
a bit of desperately needed good luck.
And you see in the distance the wailing, colorful sirens of Nexus security.
They are not even in sight yet, seemingly having a long response time in this part of town.
A second spot of good fortune.
You are able to quickly pile in to the Barry Sexy, the Brown Luxury Cruiser, and speed off,
realizing you are not being pursued.
A third and final piece of very good luck.
Oh, thank you, dealer.
Don't get to pull over.
Just drive safe now, yeah.
I don't even know where we're going at this point.
I'm just, I just start driving.
Back to the hotel.
Oh, back to hotel.
We got to pitch the car.
We got to pitch the car.
I just crack the heat.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Maybe we get close to the hotel and pitch it there.
Yeah.
We can't hope it too far in your condition.
I'm warm it up.
I'm warming up.
I'll just see it.
I just eat a good chowder, you know, a good...
He's got seat warmers in here, you know?
Some pie, a bit of a bit of a match, a little bit in studios, you know, a bit of something, you know.
Warming up with a nice pint, a nice room temperature point.
That was too close.
I... I thought that was the end.
I thought that was it.
I gotta start scheming up a new plan.
She got away.
We can't stay up here.
We gotta go back down.
Let's get back to the hotel.
We'll pitch the car.
We gotta pack quick,
and we gotta get the fucked to the elevator.
Before they shut anything down,
she knows we're here.
She knows what she won't we fucking look like.
We can't.
We can't find her another way.
We can't finish this mission.
Not up here.
Not anymore.
It's got to be easy for her to check,
hotel databases to find out we're fucking checked in.
We got to move out of there.
She knows Krummi's name.
And then what do we do?
Track her down, moving around in the streets, stealing cars.
She may be able to find us.
I know Nexus perhaps is aware of us now, and I know that everything seems very serious,
but I, we have to find her.
She does something to set out some sort of report that we can never go back down again.
Come on, warm up.
It's all right.
It's all right.
We won't be able to,
I'll need some flat.
We won't be able to use the elevator again.
Everybody breath.
One thing at a time.
One problem at a time.
I'm a blarby girl in a blurby world.
Frost, your phone starts going off
as connection finally returns to your communication device.
What the heck?
Fras, is that your phone?
Yes.
I texted Blarby right before we went in,
I answer it.
That's not good.
Through the garbled communicator static,
Blarby's voice comes through,
but it is choppy.
Fraht,
Fra.
Blabby, I'm here.
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
You're very faint.
N-la.
You can't?
I'm not sure what you're saying.
Mila?
Me.
I'm referring to.
I can't understand.
What she's saying?
Frupp.
She said she was sorry.
Everything.
Something about Mila, I think.
She's gone.
And that's where we'll end the session.
This is not going for it.
Our luck is finally running.
What a nightmare.
I'm going to go like breaking bad to relax.
