The following podcast is a dear media production.
This is Let's Be Honest with Kristen Cavalry, a podcast all about getting real and open on everything from sex, relationships, reality TV, wellness, family, and so much more.
And just a fair warning, there will probably be some oversharing.
Welcome in, guys. How are we? It's nice to be back after a two-week break, which was very nice.
Not going to lie. We are in the throes of summer and I couldn't be happier. I'm such a summer
girl and just having a break from everyone's crazy schedule has been really nice, really, really nice.
The kids and I actually just went on a 10-day vacation. So we went to Cabo for five and then we
went to L.A. for five. And we just had the best time. My kids are at such a fun age right now to be
able to travel. And they're just at fun ages. Like, they just have so much personality. They can just
hang. They're just easy now. They do fight, though, which after 10 days of just the four of us being
together nonstop, it was like, okay, we're all ready to go home. But it was fun. And in Cabo, we just
chilled. That's the other thing. My kids are at a good age. We're like, they can kind of just chill.
The boys had a basketball hoop in the pool that we had. And that kept them in her.
Siler and I would swim around a little bit, but then we, like, I could read. I was reading a book.
I haven't read a book in months. Like, that felt so nice. Like, that's how much downtime I had. It was
so nice. Actually, I'm reading a book called Magnolia Parks. It's juicy. It's such a good book.
It's such a good beach read. So if you guys are looking for a new read, that's a good one. I'm like
halfway down with it. So that was really nice to just chill. And then we went to L.A. My kids love
going to L.A.
I think because they just think it's so cool, you know, I guess I was sort of the same way, too,
when I was their age. Like, everything in L.A. is just so cool. And they always think that they
see, like, a YouTube kid. We were at Airwant, and Jackson did say he recognized some kid,
which couldn't tell you. But it's just so funny. We went to Disney. My kids love going to Disney.
We went two years ago, a little over two years ago for spring break. And they were really excited to go back.
we did Disney and California Adventure. And it really is just so fun. The new Star Wars ride that they have,
I think is so cool. It's my favorite ride. It's like a three-part ride, I guess. But they have the
Stormtroopers there and they are just awesome. I just think it's so cool seeing that stuff come to life.
And then Tower of Terror, which they have since renamed it and like Guardian of Galaxy or something.
but that's the one where you go up and then you just drop.
And then you go up, drop, up, drop.
I don't know how many times, but it is so intense.
And we did it two times in a row, which, oh my God, by the end of it, my friend Charlene
looked like she was going to puke.
Or no, sorry, that was after the first time.
She, like ran off.
She wouldn't do it again.
She looked like she was going to puke.
The second time Camden thought he was going to puke.
Like, we all were dropping like flies.
It was intense.
And then we did a few other rides.
And then we came back and we did it again as the last thing. I actually did not go that third time.
I had had enough. It's intense. That first drop, your stomach. I mean, my stomach was on the moon.
Like, it was crazy. But it's so, it's so fun. And that was fun because it was me and the kids.
And then I had a couple friends come with. And so it was great. And then I think I've told you guys,
like one of my best friends, Sharr, she and her husband, Brian and their daughter, L, are,
every time I go to L. They're the only people I really care about seeing. I always just.
just want to go to their house for dinner. And then I go over and we hang with Elle, who's almost
three. And then we put her to bed. And when I say we, I really do mean we. Like, I'm involved in
the bedtime routine. Thank you very much. She calls me Auntie Bubbles, which I just love it. I love
that name. And then I like to stay and the three of us have dinner. And that's just my highlight.
Every time I go to L.A., I've been friends with Char since I was 18. So a long time. Anyways,
it was really nice to get my kids together with Elle.
That was such a treat.
I love when I'm with my best friends and their kids.
That's everything to me.
And I was, I had kids so much earlier than most of my friends.
I mean, Elle is about to turn three.
So that just goes to show you.
And so I think for both Shar and I like,
it's just heaven getting our kids together.
And my kids are really good with younger kids.
And Elle was calling Sailor mini bubbles.
So anti-bubbles and mini bubbles.
So it was just a really special trip. It was just nice. And I said, I've been saying to my friends,
I feel like I have to take my kids on vacation to get quality time with them just because
everyone during the school year is so insanely busy with sports, school and sports. And my kids
always want to be with their friends now. So it's so rare that I have all three of my kids in the
house and the four of us are together. It just doesn't happen that much anymore. So having 10 days
straight with every meal together, like every second of every day.
The only time I took a little second break from my kids was to film Emma Greed's podcast. I went on
her podcast, which I just love her so much and truly an honor to go on her podcast to talk all
things business. Of course, I talked about on Common James. But that was it. I mean, I took two hours
away from my kids in 10 days and I really, I really, I just loved it. I loved it. So that was nice.
And now, of course, I basically haven't seen my kids since we've been home because Jackson,
actually we landed and we dropped him off at a friend's house on the way home because he was like,
okay, ready to get back at it. They're just at that age, but I love it. Okay, so anyways,
that's the catch up. Well, actually, okay, so then this now ties into what we are really going
to talk about this episode. I asked you guys on Instagram as I always do what you want to talk about
and I'd say like 75% of the comments were to talk about Miami and how I got ready for Miami. So if you don't
know what I'm talking about. Uncommon James just had its first runway debut. So we showed at Miami Swim
Week. We partnered with Risa, which is one of my favorite brands. They did all of the swim. We did
all of the jewelry. And I walked in the show. And it's so cool for me as a business owner,
as someone who loves the marketing piece of it all, like the creative behind it to have an idea
and then see it come to life is the coolest experience for me. I had this idea. I had this idea. I
to show at Miami swim months and months and months ago. I couldn't even tell you where this idea
popped into my head, but it did pop into my head. And I immediately thought of this brand,
Risa, because I am just a fan. I love their bathing suits. They also have really cute dresses.
And it's another female founder. And I just think she's awesome. Her name is Suzanne.
So I just reached out to her and she was on board. And from there, it just, we just,
we did the damn thing. And so anyways, my point with that is, I knew for months.
that I was going to be walking in this show. And it was really nice to have, I think it was like a
three months period where I really knew, okay, this is in fact happening. I knew the date. I was
marching towards the school. And you guys know I'm pretty healthy in general. But then what I did was
I sort of like cranked it up a notch at least a month out. But that's what everyone wanted to talk
about was the prep work for Miami. So in a nutshell, I've told you guys a thousand times. But I
don't drink that often. I would say typically I drink maybe twice a month. Really, it's like when
my ex has my kids. So every other weekend is really sort of the only opportunity that I have to drink.
Because I don't, I don't drink at home. I've never been someone who just like opens up a bottle of
wine and has a cocktail. That's not a cocktail. Has a glass of wine or a cocktail. And I'm very
mindful about drinking around my kids. I really don't. If I do, I'll have like half a sum.
or like the most I will ever have is one drink. But like I really just, I've just always been
very mindful of it because they are hyper aware of alcohol. So what I did though, well actually,
so I sort of unintentionally this entire year, so almost seven months, haven't really been drinking
very much. And the first few months of the year, it wasn't intentional. It was just like I wasn't
doing a whole lot. I wasn't going to dinners. I wasn't going out. I think the first
half of the year, I knew that the Laguna Beach reunion stuff was coming up. And so I think I was
also just being mindful of alcohol because of that as well. And I was, I was working a lot too. So like,
even the night of the Laguna Beach reunion, big party that we had, I'd wake up the next morning
and do podcast. So I couldn't drink. Like, I can't drink on a school night. If I have to be on
camera in some capacity the next day, I cannot drink because I sleep like shit, even after one drink.
And it just, like, everything has to come together for me to drink. I have to not have
kids the next day. I have to not be working the next day. I have to be able to potentially
sleep in, even though I know I never will be able to. But like, I need to be able to like sit on my
ass in the morning, basically. Because I'm, I get too much anxiety about being hungover.
Because I get so fucking hung over now. Because I think it's because I never drink. So when I do,
my body's like, whoa, what the hell is this? So my point with this is, I think I drank.
Okay. So let me think about this for a second.
basically in a nutshell, I think leading up to Miami, I drank twice in like three months.
Now, one of the, no, both of those nights were pretty big nights, I would say. So it wasn't like I had
one or two cocktails. Like I definitely went for it. And that's kind of my ammo. It's probably not
the best thing for my body. But like if I'm going to drink, I'm like, well, let's go bigger,
go home. So I'm typically having a few drinks. It's very rarely like one or two. Because honestly,
to me, that's a waste of calories. That's kind of how I look at it. And just also like just how bad it is or how
how hard it is on your body. So I really, really, really limited my alcohol for months. Okay. So that's,
I think, the biggest thing. Now, the other thing that I did, so you guys know, I've told you on the
pot a thousand times. I'm most of the time really health conscious. And what that means for me is
eating really clean. I don't care about fat. I don't care about calories, even though I know I just
said that about the alcohol. And I didn't even really mean calories. I mean just like how hard it is on
your body. And so I don't care about calories. I don't care about fat. I don't, uh, I'm mindful of sugar,
but it's really not my top thing. A good example of that is I will smash dates. And actually leading
up to Miami for months, my go-to dessert every single night. And I did not, I think I stopped
a week before Miami.
And by the way, because dates have a ton of nutrients in them.
And I will die on this hill, you guys, since I've been eating two dates every single, pretty
much every single day, I think that it ignites your metabolism.
There's probably zero research behind that.
And people will probably be like, she doesn't have the fact she's talking about.
I don't know what I'm talking about.
I can only tell you from my own personal experience.
I have been eating dates with a really good quality butter, you know, organic.
If you can find raw butter, that's even better.
I can't really get my hands on raw butter, which is unfortunate.
Yeah, I'm sure I could find a farm around where I am, but I just haven't yet.
And then I put really good flaky sea salt on top.
Try it, you guys.
It's fucking heaven.
I do not crave anything else sweet.
And I put a little maple syrup in my coffee every single morning.
Those are like my two sweet things.
But if you look at like the sugar on a date, I'm sure it's outrageous.
I'm sure it's through the roof.
So my point of telling you that is sugar in the right form, I don't think is bad for you.
Because to me, and I'm sure, again, some dietitian would probably argue this.
But there are so many good things in dates and it's obviously a natural sugar.
It's kind of like fruit that I don't think that's bad for you.
I think eating real food is the best thing you can do for your body to look your best, to feel your best.
And that's, I've just sort of always adopted that way of living, at least in my adult life.
And the reason why I like to really stress this stuff is because in my early 20s, I never had an eating disorder.
But actually, I probably would say this is a form of an eating disorder where I was obsessed with food.
food. I was obsessed with it. I was obsessed with food. I was obsessed with my weight. I would guilt
myself all day, every day. And it was such a horrible way to live. And to see where I've gotten to
today with real freedom around food, it makes me so happy and I'm so proud. And all I want to do
is help other people who have experienced a similar situation. Because in my early 20s,
I would deprive myself so much.
Not in a way where I was never eating.
I was just eating like salads with chicken and like nothing else in it or like like really
bland and basic food and like really being like hyper aware of what I was putting in my body.
But then what I would do is I would drink on the weekends and then I would binge eat.
So I guess that is an eating disorder.
I'm not trying to minimize it.
I just think no, I guess I guess that is an eating disorder.
And that's sort of the this is sort of the first time.
I'm like, maybe it really was. I think all of these years I've been like, well, I was never
starving myself. I was never throwing up. I was not, but like, there's a spectrum. And I was
definitely on some sort of a spectrum, which I, by the way, I think is really common for women.
And that's because of our society. But so anyways, I'm, I really want to hammer these messages
home because I think they're really important. If you can get to a place of, you know,
only reading ingredients and being really mindful about eating real food and minimally processed food.
Of course you're going to have some processed food in your diet. Like, for example, my morning
coffee is a really clean organic ground, I'm sorry, coffee being that I grind. And then I do,
like I said, maple syrup, not angiomima. Like, you have to read the ingredient label on every
single thing because you will find there are sweeteners on the market that are not just monk fruit.
There's erythral or whatever the fuck it's called in it as well, which is so bad for you.
Like, you just, you have to read every ingredient label.
So a good quality maple syrup, not some shitty maple syrup, you guys.
You have to, it's, to me, I think everything comes down to quality.
I think you can eat everything you want as long as it's really clean and good quality.
Okay.
So coffee, maple syrup and canned coconut milk. I get the simple one, so there's no gar gum in it.
Again, you have to read the ingredients to know if there's any sort of gum in your canned coconut milk.
I can tell you right now, I'm pretty sure most of the coconut milks that are in the aisle with,
like, your almond milk and your, I don't even know, soy milk and all that other oat milk.
Those all have gums in them. You have to go, I think it's the Asian aisle that has
well, for me it is anyways. It has the canned coconut milk. And that's what I do in my copy. But so the
canned coconut milk is obviously processed, but it's minimally processed. There's no additives in it.
There's no gums. There's no fillers. So that's what we need to be looking out for. We need to be
staying away for all of the junk that they add into the packaged ingredients. But by the way,
even if you look at bacon, we eat a lot of bacon in my house, you have to read the ingredients because
they will try to sneak in all of this other bullshit to make it taste better, to make it last longer.
And so you have to be hyper aware of everything you're putting in your body. I think that's step number one.
So with that being said, that's sort of always my MO. Anything you find in my house is going to be
clean like that with the exception of some snacks for my kids. I have definitely gotten more
relax with my kids as they've gotten older because my kids go to school and my kids are with
their friends and they're going out to eat and they eat like shit. They just do. They're kids.
And I guess I've sort of come to the conclusion that I don't want to be so strict with them,
but then they go the opposite way. I think I've laid a really good foundation with my kids and
they're kids and they're going to eat like shit. I did in high school and probably before that,
but that's like really what I remember.
And, but my dad instilled a really good, healthy foundation.
And I ultimately came back to that.
And that's what I'm hoping my kids do, but my kids eat like shit right now.
Of course, if I'm making dinner when I'm making breakfast, all of that is healthy and good.
But I can only control what I can control, which is in my house.
You guys know what time it is.
Let's talk about Nutraful.

about their new lemonade iced tea. I am an electrolyte junkie. I drink them multiple times a day because
I'm working out consistently. I travel a lot. I just think in the summer months too when we're out in the
sun, when we're sweating, when we're just hot, it's so important to be making sure that we're getting
electrolytes in, especially because your body produces energy through a process that runs on electrolytes,
not caffeine. So stop giving your body too much caffeine. If you're depleted, no amount of coffee
fixes that. You're just masking it. Element Lemonade Ice Tea uses a full black tea extract, so not
isolated caffeine, plus a meaningful dose of electrolytes, free of sugar, artificial colors, or other

you guys know, I also love Colostrum. Because we live in an environment our biology was never

generation growing up on ultra processed foods and we are just now beginning to understand the long-term effects.
Well, that's why Haya exists to give parents a real solution in a market flooded with kids' vitamins that
prioritize candy like appeal over actual nutrition. I also love it because not only do I have peace of mind
as a mom, but it's one less thing I have to worry about. They show up at your door so you don't have to
even think about it, parents. Also, Haya just launched something brand new. If your kids are active and
growing, adding in a clean protein powder with added minerals designed just for kids might be exactly
what they need. Haya's new kids' daily growth plus protein is a total game changer. It's more than

Okay, so there's that.
So limiting the alcohol, eating really clean, anything that is a pure chemical that's
just made in a lab, stay away from.
And there's a ton of research out there.
anything in the Aspartame family, like all of those fake sugars, all they do is make you crave more
sugar. And I promise you, if you can go like two weeks without any of that crap, the processed sugar
and all that other crap, you will stop craving as much sugar. I promise you, I used to always,
I had the biggest sweet tooth and every night I would need something sweet. And I don't even
crave anything sweet anymore. Again, I also, that's the date.
the dates have really changed my, my cravings, my sugar cravings. Try it. Just try it. But get off,
if I could recommend one thing, it would be like, get away from all the aspartame. By the way,
most gum has aspartame, you guys. You got to read the labels on gum. I swear. So in my early
20s, again, when I was obsessed with this, a sweet treat type thing that I used to do would
cut up strawberries and put a shit ton of Splenda on it. And I would eat. And I would eat
all the low fat, low calorie crap, you know, that they were marketing to women like me
who thought that low calorie, just chemical bullshit was the way to go. And I never,
you guys, I never could get down to the weight that I wanted to. And I also think,
speaking of that, you have to eat enough. So I think that's the other misconception is,
I think when you're trying to lose weight, you do have to be in a calorie deficit. However,
you have to still eat enough. It's a tricky thing. And that's different for everybody. Again,
I think when you're eating real whole food, there's more wiggle room to eat more. I don't know.
I just, your body can process it better. And you feel, you just, you feel better. So you're
going to have more energy to do more shit around the house and maybe to put in a little more effort
in a workout. I eat. Okay, so I eat everything. The only thing that I don't eat is cow's milk because
I'm allergic to it. I get a rash all over my face. If I eat enough, I get a rash on my body. It also
makes me really flemy. So I'm always going like, if I've had any sort of dairy, even if it's in a bar
or something, there's these one bars that I love. And, but there's dairy, there's protein in them and
there's dairy. And I'll eat one and it messes me up. And I'm always, I can, I can tell almost immediately.
And I was drinking a lot of raw milk. I was putting raw milk in my coffee because I was like,
well, I can, you know, they say raw milk is easier.
digestive system and a lot of people with a case in sensitivity can, in fact, handle it. And I was
actually fine for like a year. And then my body, I finally was like, I was like, why am I always like
it? It's an allergy. Once I stop the raw milk, it went away completely. But I do, I do dairy.
And I do, I do goat milk cheeses. I do sheet milk cheeses. I do sheet. There's a cheese at whole
food. It's called the drunken goat, which I absolutely love. I can do buffalo mozzarella. I do a lot of
goat cheddar. So I do do that. There's sheet milk yogurts now. I mean, they really have so many
other options. The one thing I can do that I haven't noticed any sort of reaction to is butter.
I cook with butter a lot. I use butter and a ton of stuff. Like I said, I put it in dates.
That doesn't seem to affect me. I can also get away with sour cream once in a while.
A good quality sour cream. Again, when you comes to dairy, you definitely want to make sure you're
getting organic because otherwise there are hormones and there are antibiotics and there are just
all kinds of shit in there that you don't want. I get all of my meat now from the farmer's market.
We have the most incredible farmer's market out by me. I can get all wild caught fish.
I get all of my beef. I get my chicken. Like I get everything from there because my TikTok is all
of this stuff. So there's all these videos that even whole foods.
You know, like I used to, well, I still do go to Whole Foods, but I just don't, I'm like a little
weary what I get Whole Foods now because I saw that they bleached their chicken, even the organic
chicken. And so that scares the shit out of me. Like, we don't know half the time what we are
feeding ourselves and our kids and our families. And that scares me. So I have found getting local
food from your local farmer's market is always the best option. If I'm in town, I go every single
Saturday morning, come say hi, hi, hi. And I get all of my, not all. I try to get most of my fruits
and veggies from there, guys, there is a massive difference. And you can take a knife to a cucumber
or an apple from Whole Foods and you can get the wax off of it. Like, if you just like gently
rub it across, you will start to get wax. And there's signs in the grocery store too that says that
they do that. But I don't care. I don't want wax on my fucking produce. Okay. We're eating that. No,
I'm sorry. And I absolutely agree. Agree. Like if we're having a conversation, I actually absolutely
think our bodies are made to detox and to get rid of things. I think the problem is in today's
day and age, we are being bombarded with crap on a daily basis from every angle, from water,
from food, from the air, from, it's like, you name it. We are getting pollution in our body,
in our bodies and toxicity every single day. And so I think at some point your body is like,
I can't fight this anymore. So that's why I think it's important to,
take care of it as much as we can because even if you try to be quote unquote perfect,
your body is still is still having to detox other crap that we just can't control anymore.
It just sort of is what it is.
So my whole point with that is trying to live as clean of a lifestyle as possible makes a huge
difference. And it goes well beyond food. Of course, it goes to personal care. It goes to
what we're putting on our body, you know, even down to what shampoo and conditioner we're using,
the soap and our shower, you know, obviously lotion, our skincare products, makeup, of course,
hair products. Makeup and hair is a place I haven't fully transitioned over to. I have a lot of
products that are fairly clean or are clean, but not 100%. And, you know, that's one of those things
where it's like everything else in my house is non-toxic, my cleaning supplies, my laundry,
detergent, my dish detergent. I have air filters in my house. I would never ever,
my candles. Candles are a big one, you guys. Candles are loaded with crap in them. Fylates,
I can never say that word, but I think that's how you say it. Filates. Fragrance is really bad.
You never want to get the glade plug-ins. Oh my God, you know what I hate so much.
Those car fresheners, those like trees that people hang from their rear view mirror, I can get in
a car and it instantly gives me a headache because all that is is chemicals.
scented trash bags, you guys, chemicals.
Like, just start becoming aware of where all of these toxins are coming into your life.
You'll start.
And at first, it's so overwhelming.
It's really, it's a lot.
So my advice there is take baby steps.
I think probably the most important thing is the food component.
But then I think an easier next step is the chemicals just in the house.
Like the trash bags, go to non-scented.
That's an easy swap.
throw away all of the crap candles, you know, just start making, making healthier swaps.
That is going to make a huge difference, I promise, not in just how you look, but in also how you feel.
Okay, the other thing that I've done in the last couple of years that is newer for me is, well,
new-ish, because my doctor, Dr. Monaghan, who I've had on the podcast twice, has changed my life
because I've seen really great holistic doctors since my early 20s.
And even in my early 20s, I did food sensitivity tests and hormones.
Like, I've always kind of been on top of that stuff.
And I had an amazing doctor in Chicago.
But none of those doctors that I saw ever did a gut test.
And to me, now a gut test is the most important.
That is the snapshot that you ultimately want into your body because then that affects
everything else in your body.
So Dr. Monaghan and I have tested my gut in the last two years.
I don't know, maybe three times.
and he customizes these programs to you based on what you need.
And that's why if you've heard me say on the podcast, I do not think that supplements are one
size fits all.
Only because until you get these test results, you don't know really what's going on in
your body.
And when I first went to Dr. Monaghan, I was just like, oh, I want optimal health.
I just want to, you know, be the best I can be.
And I had so much stuff wrong with me.
Like so much stuff wrong with me.
I had SIBO, which I've told you guys, which is small intestinal bacteria overgrowth,
which was affecting my entire body.
And just long story short, because of the SIBO, I wasn't absorbing any of my nutrients.
So any of the vitamins I was taking, waste of time and energy and money.
And because of it, just I had so many things wrong with me.
I think I had parasites too, which I think everyone has parasites, you guys.
We did these tests on my boys.
My boys both had parasites.
and so I really want to do it with Saylor, but I think she's just a little too young.
I don't know.
And now every time I eat sushi, I think about parasites, but I love sushi so much.
And I'm like, I just, I can't not eat sushi.
And I've been eating it a lot in the last few weeks.
And now I'm like, I probably have parasites.
But my point with that is getting everything regulated.
So your gut, that getting your gut in balance is massive, massive, massive, massive for
overall health.
your vitamin levels, your hormones, your mitochondria, like all of the things makes a huge
difference. To me, that's sort of the biggest piece of the puzzle. And the problem is it's expensive.
And I know that, you know, the test alone are expensive and then getting all the supplements.
And it's usually like a three or six month protocol. And it's expensive. It adds up.
how I look at it is I would rather pay for that now than pay that in medical bills in 10, 15, 20 years.
But listen, I get that that's not for everybody.
But that's, to me, like the ultimate hack, I think, for weight and appearance because I've seen it in myself.
I just have.
When your body is functioning at an optimal level, everything just sort of falls into place.
and sleep is huge. No matter what's going on in my life, how hectic it is, I always prioritize sleep. That is a
non-negotiable for me. I also require a lot of sleep. During the school year, I was going to bed around
9.9.15. And I would be up around 6.6.6.15. This is a solid 9 hours of sleep. And I needed that.
Now it's summer. I'm staying up a little bit later. But I did go to bed at like 9.30.
last night. So I'm just an early to bed kind of gal. I just am. And I consistently, even though I
could sleep in, I mean, I don't really know how to sleep in. So I'm still up between six and seven.
I slept in until seven this morning, which I was like, holy shit. And yes, I know how much sleep I got
last night. I was a lot. I put an eye mask on last night. And even though I've got blackout
shades in my room, there's still like little, the cracks, you know, and the windows, the light comes
through. And that's been waking me up. So I put on my eye mask, I slept in until seven. And I woke up.
I was like, damn, that is awesome.
So sleep is huge.
I think sleep is huge.
All right, fitness, babes.

All right, let's talk about Lulu Lemon, a brand we all know and love.
I'm sure you guys are familiar with their flow Y bra.
I know I've been wearing it on repeat for years.
I'm sure you guys all have as well.
It instantly became a fan fave and Lulu Lemon paid attention.
So they built an entire collection around the fan favorite.
they have a dress, a tank, a cropped tank, they have it all.
Every flow-wise style is built with Nulu, Lulu Lulmon's buttery soft performance fabric.
It's the reason people describe it as barely there.
It moves with you, not against you.
It is so comfortable.
The Y racerback design is the signature of this collection.
It gives you a wider range of motion throughout the shoulders and a clean, minimal look
that works in studio and outside of it.
Since we now all live in athleisure wear, which I love because it is not only comfortable,
but it's just easy, right?
We can move throughout our whole day in it.
But if we're going to be wearing it all day, it does.
It has to be so comfortable.
And that's why I love Lulu Lemon so much.
Go to Lululemon.com right now.
New styles drop all the time and colors go fast,
so you're not going to want to wait.
And if something doesn't work out for you,
they have free returns, always.
That's Lululemon.com.
Lululemon.com.
Okay, then other little things that I do.
Obviously, I work out.
So here's the other thing, though.
There was a phase of my life where I was waking up.
at 5 a.m. five days a week to work out because that would be the only time that I could. And I have
gotten more lax in the last few years about eating and working out. And I think, first of all,
I look and feel the best I ever have. I think also a large part of that in addition to getting
everything in my body sort of balanced, I think a large part of that is the, the,
lack of stress around eating and working out. Like, if I have a cheat, we'll say, call it a cheat meal,
I don't really love saying that because to me it's like, I look at my diet sort of as a bank
account where it's like, okay, if I splurged and had a little fun, great, who cares? I'm not beating
myself up. It's more like, then, you know, tomorrow we get back on it. We're like before it was all
or nothing for me. So I think that freedom and that calm,
around food, I also applied to working out. I used to like stress out and get mad at myself
if I couldn't work out five days a week. Now, sometimes I work out three days a week. And I'm like,
great. They're good workouts, you know, like I'm lifting heavy weight and I'm pushing myself.
But a good week for me is four. I only usually work out four days a week. Leading up to Miami,
I think the only difference with, well, actually, this is kind of crazy. So I have a
we think my my chiropractor who's also like a soft tissue guy he's not just like a you know crack
your back and move on kind of guy he like spends an hour hour and a half with you and like really he
gets into the your muscles and the soft tissue so anyways i have a torn labrum and it it's been
bugging me you guys for probably like six months and what do you know leading up to miami it was
really really kick in and my chiropractor said to me i think
I think a month and a half out, maybe a little less.
He said, you can't, you can't, you need to give it a break.
You have to give it a break.
And I was like, fuck in my head.
I was like, I'm trying to get runway bikini ready.
And you're telling me I basically can't work out my legs.
But I did.
I took a solid week off of doing anything with my legs.
And then I obviously had to have, I have completely avoided anything that would make my
labrum scream.
I had to. And honestly, thank God I had a sarong on because if I didn't, I would have been
freaking out more. But I was like, okay, whatever. If I lose my ass, that's fine because no one will
see it. And honestly, I kind of did. My ass is kind of gone. I'm working really hard right now to
get it back. But, you know, so, but what that ended up doing for me was it made me really
pull back on heavy weight because I typically do pretty heavy weight. And I actually think it
worked in my favor because I was able to lean up a little bit more than I have, you know,
like I was a little bit leaner than I, I have been in the last couple of years, I think.
I think it worked in my favor for the runway. So this is also crazy. This is a complete side note.
My labrum, you guys. I just recently let my CFO and my CMO go at Uncommon James. I am not
kidding. The day after I finally made the decision to let them go, my labrum started feeling better.
I can't make that up.
Like, and now it's, I'd say 90%.
And by the way, a lot of people get surgery for that.
And I had people being like, oh, I had to get surgery when I was your age and, like, weighing
the pros and cons of surgery.
I was the whole time pretty much like, I will not get, I'm not doing a surgery.
But isn't that so interesting?
And they say everything in your hips is like forward movement, like not accepting what
you need to do to move forward, like knowing you need to do something, but you're not doing it
basically. And what do you know? I've been sitting on that for months. And when I finally made the
decision, it felt better. It's not insane. I love shit. I love shit like that. Okay, but anyways,
I did, I think, work out five days a week the week before Miami. But it was like 30 minutes on the
stairmaster, I think was my fifth, my fifth day. And okay, so I typically do three days of heavy weight.
full body. And then one day I'll do 30 minutes on the stairmaster. That's my workout plan. I hate
workout classes. I work out at my house. You can't pay me to do a workout class. Like a lot of my friends
love to do a workout class. And I'm like, I hate them so much. I don't know why. I just really hate
them. I like being by myself at my house, blasting my music and going at my own pace. I'm like kind of a
slow and steady kind of gal. I'm not like, but okay, so that's working out. And then I have an
infrared sauna at my house, and I also put a red light on when I do that. I do that probably
realistically, like two or three times a week. Leading up to Miami, I definitely was doing it
three times a week. I also dry brush in the sauna when I first get in. Dry brushing is good for
lymphatic drainage. I mean, I also think it's just like a nice exfoliant for your body, too. It just
keeps, you know, makes your skin soft. What else? What else? I also did do chroma. The chroma five-day
detox the week before Miami. The reason I didn't do it right up until Miami is because I've done it
so many times now. I really, I mean, I don't even have to think twice about it when I do it, which is
great. But I've noticed that my body is actually, I think, in the best shape, like three days after
chroma, which is interesting. But I'll tell you why I love chroma so much, because it's the only
detox that I like, because you actually get to eat food on it.
So you're not starving. I can't do a, I can't do a detox where you're not eating. Like I did pro
on one time and what? That can't, by the way, to me, that can't be good for you. I don't know.
That's just my own personal opinion. I also think fasting. I know there's new research now that
women really are not supposed to fast. It really messes up our bodies. I believe that.
So I like trauma because you eat. You eat so clean. And so what I noticed most every time I do
chroma is it really gets rid of inflammation. And if you're trying to lean up, whether it be you're
walking in a fashion show and a bikini or you have a wedding to go to, maybe it's your wedding.
Maybe you're going on a beach trip this summer. Whatever it is, the goal really, I think instead of
like, I want to lose weight, it should really be, I want to get rid of inflammation because that
is what is ultimately going to make you look leaner and make you look fresh.
and just better and be the healthiest thing for you. So that's what I don't think I, I don't, well,
I don't actually weigh myself, but I don't think I lose weight on chroma. That's not the point.
The point is to eliminate inflammation and to look and feel your best. I notice it in my skin.
I notice it in my skin after five days on chroma. I also, when I'm on chroma, do two. So I usually
do days four and five, two coffee enemas at my house. And that is.
especially, I think, leading up to walking in a runway and a bikini, the way your stomach will be so
flat, you guys, after a coffee enema, and the way it just makes you feel so good. Again,
if everything is coming back to your gut and digestion, and if your gut is running your entire body,
if you are not pooping, ladies, gentlemen, I hope you're not listening right now,
that's a problem, right? And so you need to be detoxing. You need to be floging. You need to be
flushing things out of your body and a coffee enema will get things moving. And I'm not going to
explain to you how to do a coffee enema on my podcast. I'm really sorry. I'm sure you can Google that
or look it up on YouTube or I don't know. But you can get the kit for it on Amazon and get a,
but here's the other thing too. You have to get a really good quality coffee and you do like a
cup of coffee and you fill the rest of the bag with water. But get filtered water. You can't use
tap water, you guys, because there's there's all kinds of crap in there. So,
So that would be my only advice to you on that front. And yeah, just look it up. But I swear by coffee
enemas. I swear by them. I do them. I don't know. Honestly, I probably do them four times a year.
I would like to do them more. But I also, I notice the best results when you do one,
when you do two, but like back to back. So like days four and five on the chroma detox. Or you
could, I mean, you could do them just any time in your normal life. If I've been traveling,
or I just feel like, I don't know, just like a little off my routine,
then I like to do a coffee enema as well.
What else did I do?
I did do a laser on my stomach and my chin.
What was that laser called?
I think it's called Skin Tight.
And by the way, I'm not being paid by any of these companies.
Like, I'm truly just telling you what I did.
And skin tight.
So I did it on my stomach and my neck.
I probably did it three times before.
I think I've told you guys on the podcast. I'm not crazy about lasers in general because I really
think that ultimately what makes sense to me is to really protect the barrier of your skin. And I think
if you're constantly frying that off, to me, it just doesn't make sense. And I've done a lot of lasers
in my day. And I've never seen a result, really. That's just the God's honest truth. And I know I've
seen lasers do great things on other people. So I don't know. But for me and my skin. However,
this laser, you're in and out in 30 minutes for both stomach and neck. And the first time I did it,
I kind of went into it being like, this isn't going to do jack shit. Like, okay, I'll do it.
I woke up the next morning and I was like, my stomach actually looks a little bit tighter.
So I did it two more times. Now, do I sit here today and I'm like, did it make a difference? I don't
know. No, I don't know. I don't know. I don't really know. But I figure that was one of those
situations where I was like, it can't hurt. You know, I mean, again, there's going to be images and
videos of me in a bikini on the runway all over. And so I'm going to just do whatever I can to make
sure I look the best that I can. What else did I do? As far as like my face, like that kind of stuff,
I have been going to this place where they do supposed to help TMJ, I guess. And I actually haven't
been grinding my teeth, not grinding, but like sometimes I'll clench my jaw. Since I've been going,
I've only gone a couple of times. But I've been going every four weeks. It's really helped. But they also like
do a whole facial massage and it's like sort of like a guasha meets a lymphatic drainage. Like,
I don't even know what the hell is going on. I just know it feels amazing. And it is supposed to help
with just like overall appearance. And I think how I look at your face is it's a muscle and it's no
different than any other muscle in your body and you have to work it out the same way you would
any other muscle in your body, which is the opposite of Botox. I hate to say it. But it's, that's
put it and I've never subscribed to gentle skin care. I get shit for this all the time,
which I don't care. I get, like, I even will take oil and I'll gwasha and I show that sometimes
on social media, but then I'll take my hands too and I'll like go in and I like push everything up
and I'm like getting in there. I have never, ever, ever subscribed to gentle skin care. And by the way,
all of the best facialists that I've seen, they're not delicate little flowers touching my face.
Like, they're getting in there too. So I don't know. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't.
know. I think we all have to just do what's best for ourselves, you know. Oh, I got a spray tan before
the runway, too. I got a spray tan the night before and spray tans make a difference. Guys, I am a
spray tan ho at this point. I just started doing them this year and I love them. I love them. When I don't
have a real tan. I love them. I have a real tan right now. But they're my new best friend in the winter
months. But I did get one right before and that made a huge difference. What else? And then, you know,
ultimately then what it comes down to is like, okay, I've done the work. I did work my ass off for it.
I did all the things that I was supposed to do leading up to it. And then I was so incredibly nervous for that runway.
And as soon as I got out there, it was just like, okay, it's go time. Like, I'm shitting my pants,
but you have to just fake it till you make it. I talk about that a lot. And that was a situation where
I was out there on the runway faking it. And then it's,
It's funny because you walk out, you know, you stand at the end, take a few photos.
And as soon as I turned around, I was walking so fast.
So fast.
I just wanted to get off of that stage.
But it was so fun.
It really was such a great moment, I think, not only for the company, but for me personally,
because I was nervous.
And I love any time I get out of my comfort zone and I do something that scares me.
And I love, like, I live for...
having a challenge, right, where you have to do the prep work for a moment and then there's a big
payoff. And that those photos were everywhere. And for me, just, I don't care as much about like me
personally, but just being able to say like Uncommon James had its first runway moment and what a big
deal that was was very cool. So I was so happy that those photos went everywhere and that it did
exactly what I had hoped, you know? And so it was a bit, that was a big moment for me and
and the whole company. And my team really, they're the ones who pulled it all all off. And so shout out
my team at Uncommon James. They are phenomenal. People wanting to know how the health journey
started for me. And I in my early 20s, I read a lot of books in the health world. And that started
to sort of like percolate, you know, and kind of like raise my ears. And I think living in L.A.
It sort of lends itself to being healthy because everyone there is just so health conscious and there's
so much access to healthy things, whether that be food or just being outside and fitness and
all of those things, saunas and cold plunge and, you know, like all the things. That's at the forefront
of most people's minds in L.A. But once you go down that rabbit hole of realizing how much
crap is in our food that the FDA approves and that they allow in our food system is mind-blowing.
and so once I started figuring that out, I couldn't stop.
I just went down that hole.
And by the way, if the food is the tip of the iceberg,
once you start pulling back the curtain of how corrupt our government is,
really in a nutshell,
and it starts with the food, right?
But like the vaccines, the just everything.
I mean, all of politics is corrupt.
But it's pretty alarming what they allow.
in our system. And because at the end of the day, us being sick and being dependent upon the medical
industry is how they make money. You know, I really believe if they had a cure for cancer,
they would not release it because think of all the money they would lose. Are you kidding me?
Like, what? I just think it's a fucking sham. And that's why, unfortunately, they make it really
difficult to get good quality food, good quality water, you know, and they,
allow what they allow into our food system and our medical system. Also, by the way, is incredibly
corrupt. The sicker we are, you guys, the more money they make. I just think that's always important
to remind ourselves to just keep in your back pocket, you know, and that's why they always have a
smear campaign against anyone who's out there trying to get a healthy message across. It's a fucking
smear campaign. So I'm not going to get on my soapbox today because today is not that type of
podcast. But that was what started this health journey for me, was just understanding the corruption.
So there you go. That was Miami. I'm trying to think what's coming up for you guys. You know what I
am doing this summer, guys, is we are going to do the final two, not final two, but the, well,
the final two episodes that I'm going to do about the Hills. I told you guys I would come back
and do a couple more episodes of the Hills rewatch series that I was doing. So I am doing. I am
doing the Miami episode. And then the finale. I'm going to do those two. Those are going to be
airing here in the next few weeks. And then I'm going to take another couple weeks off in later
in the summer because I can. I've been working really hard and it's been really nice to just
take a break because also uncommon James is at 110 right now. And so it's just been, I've been
needing to be more involved in that. And yeah, so anyways, as always, you guys know I love you.
I appreciate you asking questions and listening. And I will see you guys next to you.
