Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a Dear Media production. This is Let's Be Honest with Kristen Cavallari, a podcast all about getting real and open on everything from sex, relationships, reality TV, wellness, family, and so much more. And just a fair warning, there will probably be some oversharing. Because I got all the power, yeah. we're back welcome back to let's be honest oh my god hi yeah we're here we're here made it back from greece shockingly are you still jet lagged i'm beyond jet lagged and it's actually one of those things that like i there are certain things with you that annoy the shit out of me.
Starting point is 00:00:47 And they're very, very few. But one of them is like if you have like a physical ailment, like if you and I went out me being like, are you hung over? It's the worst thing in the world because she's always like, no, I feel fine. I'm like, oh, get a fucking life. I get the worst hangover. No, barely. If you're hung over, then I'd be like extremely hung over.
Starting point is 00:01:03 But with the jet lag, like we've been back for a few days and it hit me so hard. The worst it's ever hit me, actually. Really? Like the worst. I think for us, it was like stopping in London, whatever it was. But the other day I was like, I'm not even going to fucking ask her because I know she's going to be fine. But I asked you and you're kind of like, no, I've been like weird, like.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I've been tired. Yeah. I've been tired. Really tired. You know what, though? This one wasn't horrible for me. Here she goes. I've been a little tired, but no. So what I did was on the way home, I didn't sleep. I pushed through and I was so tired on the plane, but I made myself stay up so that when I finally
Starting point is 00:01:42 got into bed at like whatever time it was nine, I fell right asleep. And then I the first night home, I woke up at two thirty in the morning and I was like, oh, fuck. What did you fall back? Fell back asleep. And then I woke up at five thirty and I got up for the day. And so I felt like it just like naturally got me back on schedule. Oh, God, shut up.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Try it. No, that's actually what I did. I kept myself awake. You guys stopped in London on the way home. We stopped in London. So we had like a full night's sleep. And then we had like a day in London and we kind of hung out or whatever. But then we left. It was the same thing. Like I try to check what time it is in Nashville and then stay. So I was supposed to stay up. So we would land and go right to bed. Did you?
Starting point is 00:02:19 And I stayed up the whole entire time. But it just I was such a mess. Scoot slept the entire flight. How did he sleep at night then when you guys got home? We landed, we got home and we both fell asleep really, really quick. So he slept, he, no, he's been pretty bad too. He slept the whole night, but it's been this thing like at like noon or one o'clock, which would be late in Greece. Eight or nine. Eight or nine wrapping up the day or whatever, kind of. Yeah, well, you were just getting started. But it hits me here at like noon or one. Oh, and the crazy thing is, so right when we got back,
Starting point is 00:02:54 I'm so like, I love to get home and get back into my routine because I live for a routine. As crazy as I am and as hard as I can go on vacation, I love routines. I love no drinking. I love sleeping. I love my workouts, whatever. And I love alone time, to be honest. kind of just like that quiet house, whatever we got home and scoot had like three of his friends come from home. This is birthday. And I love scoot has the best people in
Starting point is 00:03:15 his life. Like there is not a one person from scoots family or like his friends, but I don't like, so they're wonderful. But I was like, my mind wasn't there. You know, it's like we had people in our house and I would like. And you were staying up late. Yeah. Later than you normally do. So that already is throwing off your circadian rhythm. The other night I got into bed at like nine o'clock and they were all there out in the kitchen, like having fun or whatever. And I was laying there and I just couldn't sleep. So then I went out and I was up till like one in the morning with them, like just snacking in the kitchen. And we go to Nantucket next week. So I wanted this to be my week
Starting point is 00:03:45 where I like kind of pulled my body back. Recovery week? Yeah, recovery. And now I'm just like, oh, I just feel like- Just lean in, you know? It's not happening. It's life. You can recover when you get home from Nantucket.
Starting point is 00:03:55 I said something about that on social media yesterday. And like one of these people, I know she was being funny, but it like triggered me. But she was like first world problems. Cause I was talking about like jet lag. And I was like, bitch, you know what? But it's my problem.
Starting point is 00:04:05 And that's what I'm dealing with right now. This is my life. And you live in the first world too. Aren't we all? I had to Google what first world meant. It's like today's day and age. I think, but it's like a developed country, like a modern times.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Yeah, yeah. But like people who, let's not go into that. You get it out there. But anyways, the girl who wrote that, she's also dealing with first world problems. And that happened to be mine for the day. And why it bothers me is because my mom was always one of those people. Like if we were sick, my mom would be like, no, you're not. You're fine. Like we always had to power through. So I already feel like I can't complain about being sick or tired. That's a thing for me.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Oh man. You're funny too with people. Do you remember what was wrong with Scoot and Grease? His ankle, what happened? His leg, his leg went numb or something that we don't, we still don't really know. But when Scoot would be complaining and be like, my foot actually hurts, Justin, you have zero patience for it. Like zero tolerance for anyone who has an ailment. I know it's so bad. It's so bad. And it's something I have to acknowledge because I never got to do that as a kid. So I hate the fact that like as an adult, but it's weird. It's like, like if you were complaining about it, the world would stop. It's just because scoot and I like we're, we spend so much time together and I will
Starting point is 00:05:18 say, and scoot knows this. So I'm not talking crap about scoot or throwing him under the bus. Scoot is one of those people. Like he'll constantly do the, like, I'm so hungover. I'm so tired. I'm so hungry. I don't do that. Like, yeah, like I'll kind of like push through or whatever. But he's not complaining in like a bitchy little kid way. It's just that's his way of communicating. Have you ever gone to like lunch with someone and like they all want to complain at the lunch kind of like, oh, I'm tired. And I don't like that. It doesn't make me feel good. My thing is like if I'm'm hungover and we're in Greece, I was, we were so, you explained this. I like this concept. We'll say what you're going to say. So we were in Santorini is where it really happened. And we were walking through, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I was just in the happiest
Starting point is 00:05:56 mood ever, but really hungover. Right. And scoot kept being like, I'm so hungover. I'm so tired, whatever. And then finally I stopped and I'm like, scoot, look where we are. Like my favorite thing is I'm always like, thank God I'm hung over with this environment. Like I love that I get to be hung over and it's, it looks like this when I'm hung over on vacation, who cares? Go lay by the pool and enjoy it. Like what a wonderful place to be hung over. Cause I think there's two ways you can go. You can either complain about it. You can just focus on how shitty you feel or yeah, you can focus on the positive. It's like a little bit of a mind over matter thing, but that probably comes
Starting point is 00:06:26 from my mom. Well, I'll tell you what though. After what, 10 days of drinking every single day, I don't know how you guys were still hanging on. I mean, can we,
Starting point is 00:06:35 let's just start with that. Here's what I will say. I can party. Like I have it in me still. I'll always have that little party gene. I can keep up with the best of them.
Starting point is 00:06:45 I don't know how you and Scoot do it. I don't know how. Mark and I had to take days off of drinking. Well, first of all, I've never been someone who can drink like all day to pool and then go out. Like I either have to do one or the other. Like I'm either day drinking and passing out by nine or I'm like going out all night. But you guys are able to do both and every day. I don't know how. You guys, it's like really bad. And every day, I don't know how you guys it's like really bad. So scooting out here, like when we go on vacation, and it was it was 10 days and like we drink all day long, all day long, as late as you want us to and we'll wake right back up and we go again. You guys got we would get like three or four hours of sleep and then we'd be at the
Starting point is 00:07:20 pool drinking again. And Mark and I were like, Oh my God, we don't 24 and he couldn't keep up. I know we go really hard, but also I go to the gym in the morning. Like you would come down and you're like, when did you wake up? I'm like, I already went to the gym. I had breakfast. I went for a walk around town. You're like, what the hell are you doing? It's bad. Scoot and I actually talked about that. We're like, we need to figure out a way to like, start doing vacations where we like slow it down a bit, you know, because in our real life at home, we never drink. We cook every meal. We go to bed really early. We do our workouts. But when we go on vacation, we go so freaking hard. And I'm afraid to go to Nantucket next week because that's like a month in Nantucket with so many of our friends and family from all growing
Starting point is 00:07:58 up. And Nantucket is where we go the hardest. Well, I'm worried about you guys. Please let me know that you're alive every morning. Live, laugh, love. No regrets. You know what though? It is true. Like you guys are so healthy and so on track when you're home. You guys are just like caged animals that get released into the wild. Yeah. So we really take advantage of it. I also really do think that like you having kids like kind of changes everything. You know, like scooting, if you really think about, we live a really selfish life. I can be honest about that. We live a selfish life. It's like, we do what makes us happy. And when we go on vacation, like we just want to have a blast. Like we don't want to stop.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Which is what you should do because you can come home and relax and recover where I'm like, I have to come home and wake up at 6am and do the school routine. Totally. So like, I can't afford to do that. I will say though, this was probably one of the first vacations where I came home and didn't need a vacation from the vacation. Like, I didn't feel like complete shit because Mark and I, we really can't relate. You wouldn't get it. We went hard.
Starting point is 00:08:56 There was a night in Paros that we went hard. And then Mark and I barely drank in Santorini. Like, we really tapered off. And then listen to this. And now we're just kind of we're going to go in order of our trip, but now we're jumping around on the way home. We flew from Santorini to Athens, Athens, Washington, DC to Nashville. Our Athens flight was two and a half hours late taking off. So we of course missed our connection in Washington, DC. It was the last flight out. So we had to spend the night in Washington, DC. Our bags went to like
Starting point is 00:09:23 the other side of the airport or whatever, because it was an international flight. They wouldn't let us get our bags. So Mark and I had to spend the night in Washington, DC. We landed at like 730, finally got to the hotel at like 830. We have no bags. No bags. I had sweats on. I literally looked homeless. Sweats on with socks that I got from the airplane, by the way, with a sticky grip on this. They're kind of comfy though. I love them. And my little slides. And it was, I mean, it was disgusting. We felt disgusting, but it was actually kind of cool because we got to see, we went to the Pentagon and drove around the Pentagon and our driver was showing us like where the plane hit and
Starting point is 00:10:02 everything. We got to see the white house. We got to see the Capitol. the capital i was like wait have you not been in a long time i think i went in middle school okay so i went in sixth grade last summer we drove all the way up to nantucket and we stopped in dc so i hadn't seen it since i was a kid isn't it kind of unbelievable i felt like i was on a movie set yeah like it's kind of a weird feeling no washington dc is actually really cool and you feel like really patriotic and I want to go back. I'll go back. I want to do like a White House tour. I'll do it in a second with you. And it's so funny because you we flew home separately. If you guys aren't following that, Kristen came home. They can never just they also went to Mykonos early. Like, yeah, you can never just like stick to the plan. That's like always I think we go earlier and we stay
Starting point is 00:10:42 longer. Always. We always to keep the party going But when we went to DC I was blown away by it and I was trying to tell you I wish I knew that you Guys were staying the night because there's a hotel that I love in DC. It's called the hey Adams and it's so Beautiful and from most the rooms you can see the White House like across the park and it's so beautiful. But DC is really cool. I'm so into it. Okay, guys, let's talk about Haya. Parents, you're going to want to listen up. Did you guys know that typical children's vitamins are basically just candy in disguise, filled with two teaspoons of sugar, unhealthy chemicals, and other gummy junk that growing kids should just never eat? Well, that's why Haya was created. The pediatrician approved super powered chewable vitamin. While most children's vitamins are filled with five grams of sugar and can contribute to a variety of health issues,
Starting point is 00:11:34 Haya is made with zero sugar, zero gummy junk, yet it tastes great and is perfect for picky eaters. It's non-GMO, vegan, dairy-free, allergy-free, gelatin-free, nut-free, and everything else you could possibly imagine. They check all the boxes. Haya is designed for kids of all ages, and it's sent straight to your door so parents have one less thing to worry about. That's honestly what I love most is that they just show up in my mailbox every single month, and I never have to place an order or go out of my way. And when I could control what my kids ate, it was much easier to get nutrients in them. But now that my kids are older and they're at school, they come home with crap. They eat like crap a lot of the times now because, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:13 they're on the go. They're with their friends. So getting these in their system, I just have peace of mind knowing that they're getting all of the vitamins and nutrients that they need. And guys, I've worked out a special deal with Haya for their best-selling children's vitamin. You can receive 50% off your first order. To claim this deal, you must go to hayahealth.com slash honest. This deal is not available on their regular website. So go to H-I-Y-A-H-E-A-L-T-H dot com slash honest and get your kids the full body nourishment they need to grow into healthy adults. While I may not be currently on dating apps, as you guys know, I have my history with them. So that's why I want to talk to you guys about eHarmony. The best relationships are the ones where we feel comfortable being ourselves, right? They're with people who really see us for
Starting point is 00:13:05 us, someone who really gets us. So why not use a dating app that's designed to do specifically that? eHarmony helps you find someone you can be yourself with. The eHarmony signup process gives each person a distinct personality profile based on a set of questions everyone on the platform answers. eHarmony members see how shared personality traits with people feel instantly relatable and differences can complement one another. Find someone you can be yourself with. I love that eHarmony really goes above and beyond with these personality profiles because right out of the gate, you get to know a little bit more about
Starting point is 00:13:45 these people. And if there are deal breakers on there, you're going to know right away. Or maybe a difference does actually intrigue you and it makes you want to get to know someone a little bit more. I also think too, when you know a little bit more about someone, you automatically have more conversation pieces. You know, it's always nice going into a date to have like three to four topics that you want to bring up. That's what I always used to do anyways, because there's nothing worse than being on a date and having a lull in conversation and really not knowing what to even say. So I think these personality profiles are so beneficial for so many reasons. And also just being able to find someone that you really
Starting point is 00:14:25 do have a lot in common with. That right away makes you feel like, okay, there could really be something here. It kind of just weeds through the duds from the get-go. Get who gets you on eHarmony. Sign up today. Okay, let's talk about hiring employees. Finding great candidates to hire can be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. You get too many resumes and not enough candidates with the right skills or experience. That doesn't happen with ZipRecruiter. ZipRecruiter finds amazing candidates for you and fast. And right now you can try it for free at ZipRecruiter.com slash honest. ZipRecruiter lets you connect with top candidates as soon as possible. You can use ZipRecruiter's pre-written invite to apply message to personally reach out to your favorite candidates
Starting point is 00:15:12 and encourage them to apply sooner. I can't tell you guys how nice it is to have ZipRecruiter to help filter through resumes because yeah, it's always nice. And I think it's a big compliment to get a ton of resumes, but you know, a lot of times these people don't have any experience. So if you really are hiring for a role that requires experience, that's where ZipRecruiter really shines because they can come in. They help you filter through. They give you the ones that you actually need to be looking at so you're not wasting your time. So I can't say enough good stuff. ZipRecruiter, the smartest way to hire. ZipRecruiter.com slash honest. Really quick though, can we talk about how rude that is of the airports, the way that they treat you in situations like that? Because you had to pay for the whole night in DC. Okay. And also not to be a brat, but I'm just going to explain this to you guys. We were in first class. They bumped us down to economy on our way home. And I, for the last leg of your, yeah. And I've emailed them numerous times being like,
Starting point is 00:16:35 well, you guys have to reimburse me. And I haven't heard back from United Airlines. I'm going to call them out. They don't care. They don't care. I haven't gotten money for anything. It's the one business that like, they just don't care. Like you they don't give a shit they don't care at all I haven't gotten money for anything it's the one business that like they just don't care like you're literally at their mercy and I also because they don't have to
Starting point is 00:16:49 because there's only a couple of them I'm sure you can relate to this but like I can't stand when like celebrities or influencers like call out airlines on social media
Starting point is 00:16:57 I want to do so bad but I agree in the situation you want to because it's like just shut the fuck up we've all been there but whenever you see
Starting point is 00:17:04 like an influencer or a celebrity doing it, you like roll your eyes like this is not going to do anything. But when you're in this situation, you want to call it out so bad. Fight United Airlines so fucking hard. But it's not nice. Like that's not. They do not give a flying.
Starting point is 00:17:18 They don't care at all. And I get that things happen or whatever. But like you should still have to like take care of people because they've spent a lot of money at this point. And also airports close. You can't just sleep in the airport. No, that's something I just learned. Did you know that? Well, I actually thought that you maybe could. I didn't know that. I thought airports were open 24 hours, but they like all the stores closed down. I knew that maybe you could sleep like I think you can stay. Oh, really? I do. I think there's some people have slept at airports before because also if
Starting point is 00:17:43 your flight, let's say you're on the red eye and that gets canceled or whatever, and you're taking the first flight out, like they're not going to kick you out of the airport. I don't think you could just sit there the whole time. I think you can't because haven't you seen those videos of people sleeping at airports? Yeah, but recently somebody told me maybe they're like smaller airports where you have to go out and then you have to go back through security or something. Oh, my God. But anyways, it's just traveling.
Starting point is 00:18:02 It can be like a nightmare. We had no hiccups this time. Thank God. Knock on wood, because we're always one that like loses our luggage and everything. But anyways, it's just traveling. It can be like a nightmare. We had no hiccups this time. Thank God. Knock on wood. Cause we're always the one that like loses our luggage and everything. But ours was aggressive. I know that. And even like, like we, our layover in Athens was only, or sorry, in Washington, DC was
Starting point is 00:18:16 only an hour and to go through customs, we wouldn't have made that flight anyways. Oh, so that's on you. Well, don't tell United that. That's actually why Scoot and I didn't do this direct trying to get there. We stayed the night in London on the way there and back. Because I'm like, I'm not dealing with this stuff anymore. But it goes back to the airport. They don't care about you.
Starting point is 00:18:36 And I can't handle this anymore. Because I'm not going to be the person that's screaming at someone in the airport. I get so fired up. But I know I won't do that. Do you scream in public? No, I won't. And I've tried, like, I think 10 years ago, I probably would have. Me too, back in the day.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Like, this is bullshit. But then as you get older, you mature and it's like, they can't do anything. That's not going to do anything for you. It's screaming at someone. If you really want to get your way, you have to be really nice and have people have empathy for you. Yes, 100%. Start crying a little. That's...
Starting point is 00:19:05 I was trying to get home to my kids. But even then they're like, what do you want me to do, ma'am? I'm like, here... Here's a $100 food voucher. You're like, fuck you. Okay, so we're going to talk about our trip. So what we did was we went to three different Greek islands. We went to Mykonos, Paros, and Santorini.
Starting point is 00:19:23 And we started in Mykonos for six fucking nights. Six nights. Biggest regret of my life. Which is the way that we want to do it, though, because Chris and I talked the whole thing through and we were like, we love Mykonos so much and we do. We love it so much. But we saw it differently this time. Why do you think we saw it differently? Because now I'm in a relationship. It was like we were on a couple's vacation instead of like going out partying. And like, I mean, we did do that, but it's different. I think when everyone's in a relationship, I also think Mykonos in general is different. And I think that social media ruined it the same way that social media ruined
Starting point is 00:19:58 Tulum because you and I went to Mykonos 20 years ago. Well, hang on. How old am I? No, I went in 2011. How long is that? 13 years. Okay. So then I probably went as old as you. Fuck off. Get a life. So then I went like 15 years ago for the first time and it was my favorite place on earth. And I still love it so much. Then we went last year and last year was like a very like party, fun, whatever trip. But then, then yeah this time it was the couple's thing but when we went to the next island paros and was quiet or santorini the driver immediately said to us he's like what did you guys think of mykonos like can we be real for a second and we started explaining and he validated everything that we were feeling mykonos has turned into the grossest like over
Starting point is 00:20:41 showing of money it's like showing off money. You will have a reservation at nine 30 at like the hottest restaurant ever. You get there at nine 30. They made us wait till 1130. I did not care, but it's their attitudes. They're so rude and just like shoo you to the side. And if you even try to ask like, Hey, when is my table going to be ready? They get so snotty with you. Attorney did that, which is like the hottest restaurant at night. Also, Prince of Pody, the day club. We waited, you guys, just sitting there for an hour and 15 minutes. And we had a reservation.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Just sitting in this random area. They're like, wait here and we'll get your table over. And we were just sitting there like it. And we thought it'd be 10 minutes. So we're just like standing there. Then all of a sudden we like start making ourselves comfortable. Every time we walk by, we're like, are we going to be sad? And we were so nice about it. So nice. And finally,
Starting point is 00:21:27 after like 45 minutes, I asked the girl, I was like, Hey, we had a reservation. We've been waiting for 45 minutes. She goes, I know. Like, okay, well, I don't know. Like what? I don't understand it. So it's turned into one of those places where it's like, they are so busy and people are spending so much money that they know if it's not you, it'll be somebody else. When we got to that beach club, we walked up and it looked like Coachella. There was a mob of people trying to get into the restaurant. Like, OK, we have a reservation. We're not going to push our way through. So we kind of waited patiently. Yeah, we did. Finally, the one woman like I made eye contact when she waved me over. I don't know why she did that. Actually, I kept like smiling at her and the women in front of me were like doing this whole bitchy thing. I didn't know that she waved you. She waved me
Starting point is 00:22:08 over. So like I kind of scooted my way up there. I'm like, we have a reservation. I was like, OK, cool. This is happening. We're getting in. Yeah. Then she pulled us through and made us wait there for an hour and a half. Yeah. But anyways, when we saw that driver, he was explaining to us, he's like, oh, Mykonos is like it's kind of dying off. It's all about how much money you have. That's to me. And it's also so busy like trying to walk around like through the town Mykonos. It's so fucking crowded. Also, I saw people I know, which is fine and great, but also on vacation in a on the other side of the world. I don't want to see people I know. Yeah. That just like tells you how overpopulated it's
Starting point is 00:22:40 become. Yeah. And what it's turning into. I think when I say the social media thing, I think like everyone's seen everyone go to Mykonos. So they're like, everyone's finding a way to get there. There's so many other islands that you could go to and I think have such a better time unless you're literally just trying to show off your money and go crazy. It's also so expensive. Like you guys, I don't think people have any idea unless they've been there. And that's why this was Mark's first time being there. And I could even tell, like, I was kind of looking at him, like, when he's seeing the prices, because it's unheard of.
Starting point is 00:23:11 It's like Aspen. I don't even want to say that. Like what? Aspen. But times 10, even. Yeah. Because even Aspen, you're kind of like, okay, that's expensive. But we're in Aspen.
Starting point is 00:23:20 This is like, what are we doing here? But I will say the food in mykonos is the best unbelievable and the food is really good and the vibes like when you're having fun it's so much fun but we all kind of left like we definitely want to get out of here um yeah we couldn't wait to leave yeah also six nights was so fucking aggressive and we mark and i didn't well none of us went out one night right the third night third night. We went out. You guys did? Yeah, a few guys went to bed. Remember, we didn't come back to the door like 5 a.m.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Mark and I literally ate at the hotel and went to bed at like a reasonable hour. I think like nine. So did you guys go to the gay bar? Oh, OK. So the night that we all randomly ran into each other at the hotel bar, we were like, we're going to bed. And then we all went to the hotel bar. Did I do that? No, not to the bar. Like we went to the restaurant. OK, we came back to the hotel after the boat. I don't know what day it was. We all came back. This is the day before the boat. OK, we all came back to the hotel and we're like,
Starting point is 00:24:16 OK, good night. Like, let's just have like a chill night or whatever. And then we we both went and got ready and you were in your pajamas In the restaurant having dinner with Mark. And then that was the one dinner we didn't have together, actually. Then Scoot and I came all dressed up. And we were like at dinner. You came over and you were like, Justin. I was like, oh, you guys are going to bed. You guys went upstairs.
Starting point is 00:24:34 And then, yeah, we went out. We had fun. We went to the bar and just like hug out. That's so funny. I was literally in my pajamas. But yeah, so six nights was really aggressive. We talked about if we were going to redo this, like this whole trip,
Starting point is 00:24:47 we would just do two nights in Mykonos. I think that's all you need. And I do think if you haven't been, it's worth experiencing. It's just know what you're getting into. Know what you're getting into. Yeah, definitely. And I think, yeah, do a quicker version of it
Starting point is 00:24:58 because the other islands were so amazing. Such better like energy. The people were so nice there. And it really felt like what Greece used to be like, you know, like or you really feel like the Greek culture. Like that's what our driver was saying. The one guy in Santorini, he's like Mykonos doesn't even feel like Greece anymore. It feels like Beverly Hills.
Starting point is 00:25:14 And by the way, now that we've been to other islands, I get that. Oh, 100%. I totally get that. I still do want to go into Mykonos and do like two party nights, you know, just kind of get out of your system. Yeah, because it is fun. They have really fun parties. Guys, I love this time of year. I love when the weather starts to change. I've been throwing on a lot more sweaters, cardigans.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Cardigans are really in right now. And that's one of the reasons why I love Quince so much. You guys know shifting wardrobe from summer to fall can always be a challenge. Electrolyte deficiency or imbalance can cause headaches, cramps, fatigue, brain fog, and weakness. Element is a zero sugar electrolyte drink mix born from the growing body of research revealing that optimal health outcomes occur at sodium levels two to three times government recommendations. Each stick pack delivers a meaningful dose of electrolytes free of sugar, artificial colors, and other dodgy
Starting point is 00:28:02 ingredients. Element is formulated for anyone on a mission to restore health through hydration and is perfectly suited for athletes, folks who are fasting, or those following keto, low-carb, whole food, or paleo diets. So what are electrolytes? Well, electrolytes are charged minerals that conduct electricity to power your nervous system. They also regulate hydration status by balancing fluids inside and outside your cells. You guys have heard me talk about Element many times. As you guys know, I just got back from Greece. I actually brought an entire box with me because I also like Element for when I'm drinking. If you've had a few cocktails, they always help with a hangover.

I have been a fan of Smart Water for years. I remember when they came out early 2000s, I want to say, and I've been
Starting point is 00:29:25 obsessed ever since. Of course, the bottle looks great, right? It fits into all of my handbags, my kids' backpacks, any cup holder, which I love so much. And dare I say, it's my favorite accessory. I know that's so cheesy, but I do always have a water bottle with me everywhere I go. And what I love so much about Smart Water is that I can always count on finding it. Whether I'm at the airport in Greece, yes, it was there. And so there was actually one day where I bought a water for me, Mark, Justin, and Scoot. Everyone gets a Smart Water because that's how good it is. And I want to keep all my buddies hydrated. And at the little ports, they always have some refreshments. Smart Water was always there.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Whether I'm traveling here in the United States, maybe I'm on a road trip, the grocery store, Smartwater is everywhere. And they just have that incredibly pure, crisp taste, which I love. And in a world filled with overthinking, they're providing a refreshing change of pace, a moment of clarity with a simple choice of hydrating with Smart Water. When it comes to living my life, there's a lot to overthink. I am about to move, which you guys know, but at least I don't have to overthink my water. Did you guys know that it's vapor distilled through a process that's actually inspired by the clouds? Okay. And Smart Water has added electrolytes for taste. So guys, life's full of choices.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Smartwater is a simple one. Visit drinksmartwater.com to learn more. We, okay, so, and we also, we stayed at two different hotels in Mykonos. We stayed out of town for four nights and then in town for two nights. Can we talk about the second hotel we were at? We were all at the pool one day and a couple was arguing so bad. I don't think I've ever actually seen anything like this in real life where, I mean, they were yelling
Starting point is 00:31:16 at each other at the pool and this man was so fucking disgusting the way he was talking to her, talking to her like a dog. It was the grossest thing we've ever, I've ever seen. So I'm, and I remember I was so happy that you guys all heard it. Cause you guys were all sitting on the lounger and I was in the pool. And when I were like right next to her, I was right next to them. When I heard it happening over my shoulder, I thought it was two people joking. It would be like, if, if I was talking to you, like in a condescending way of being funny, like, bitch, you know, that you whatever. And then all of a sudden I realized that they're being real. And it's one of those things where it's like, I can be a very confrontational person. Like in my life, if I see weird things happen around me,
Starting point is 00:31:52 especially if it's directed towards a woman, I will say something. And it's something that Scoot has had to say before, like, Justin, please don't do that around me because it makes him a little bit uncomfortable when I confront people. But it was one of those things in the pool where I wanted to turn to this guy. And like, not only are you making all of us uncomfortable in this really nice hotel, small, quiet, there was a family there that was so cute and they were screaming or whatever. Not only are you ruining their experience, but like you're a fucking dirt bag. And the way that you're talking to this woman right now, he said to her, he's like,
Starting point is 00:32:21 the only reason it was clearly there was a money dynamic, right? So he was like, the only reason that you're in this there was a money dynamic, right? So he was like, the only reason that you're in this hotel, the only reason you're on this island is because of me. He's like, get out of the pool right now.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Yeah, she wouldn't get out of the pool. And she was partying. She was having a good time. What was her name? I wish I could remember. Well, no, they were very European. Alicia, I think.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Alicia. Alicia, get out of the pool. But then I was at the pool and I was texting you. I was like, please tell me you're hearing what's happening. And you're like,
Starting point is 00:32:43 oh no, Justin, I'm hearing the whole thing that's happening. It was the weirdest thing ever. But then anyways, he was like, if you don't get out of the pool and I was texting you. I was like, please tell me you're hearing what's happening. And you're like, oh, no, Justin, I'm hearing the whole thing that's happening. It was the weirdest thing ever. But then anyways, he was like, if you don't get out of the pool right now, like I'm leaving you on this island. I'm getting on a plane right now. Yeah. And then Alicia got out of the pool. That was heartbreaking. Alicia, no, stay in the pool. Yeah, I was like, get in, girl. You can stay in our room.
Starting point is 00:32:58 He berated her in front of all these people in the pool. And then he left. But then Alicia, man, followed him. I was so disappointed in Alicia. First of all, he's a pool. And then he left. But then Alicia man followed him. I was so disappointed in Alicia. First of all, he's a disgusting pig, obviously. But like, well, he was also mad that she was drinking. Right. Like, and you know, it's interesting. Earlier in the day, I saw he was laying on his stomach, laying out by the pool. And she like went up to him and she was like trying to kiss him and nuzzle him. And he wanted no part of her. And even then
Starting point is 00:33:24 I was like, damn, like that is hard for me to watch like this guy clearly is not into this girl it was the worst energy ever i mean the biggest thing i noticed that they left that whole plate of pasta they just you should have eaten i know i want it was so it was it was like an arabian mad man to have that money go to waste i wanted they had just ordered a pasta by the pool it was sitting there was a beautiful pasta i wanted to eat it everyone should have shared that pasta by the pool. It was sitting there. It was a beautiful pasta. I wanted to eat it. Everyone should have shared that pasta at the pool for having to witness what the hell happened. But I honestly, Alicia, let us know that you're okay
Starting point is 00:33:52 because we were worried about you. Those situations make me so uncomfortable though because people fighting around me just really gross me. It like, it irks me so bad. My thing too is if he's talking to her like that in front of people, that's dark. Yeah. So imagine what happens when they go back to the room.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Behind closed doors. He's a bad man. Very bad. He was saying that in the pool with a bunch of people around. Talking to her like she's a fucking dog. Do you think? Get over here right now. Like disgusting.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Yeah. No, she's like, she literally, he was talking like she was a dog. Do you think that in a situation like that, like somebody should say something? It's so hard. What do you say? I know it's like, let's say you said something. I almost feel like it would make it worse between them. And what would Alicia do then?
Starting point is 00:34:34 It's not like you can like save Alicia. And he seemed like the type that was like he was so on the verge. He like want because she actually diffused the situation. She didn't say really. Yeah, she was just sitting there. She's like okay i want to talk to you in a little bit she said she said a couple times she's like i'll talk to you when you calm down that was making him more matter but then in my head i was like i need to say something like i need to say something but then i was like but he's the type that would like throw a glass in the pool or
Starting point is 00:34:57 something i was like it would turn into a whole thing i'm like what is the point yeah had alicia stayed this is so stupid had she stayed and he went in, I 100% would have went up to her and I would have been like, I'll get you a room here. Like you're not dealing with this shit. Like, cause he kept saying too, he's like, you're not going on the flight home. Who says that to someone too, by the way, like you're in a foreign country and like, I don't care what the power money dynamic is. You don't treat a human like that. We, Oh my God. I just, I just remember this too. When Mark and I were leaving from Athens,
Starting point is 00:35:28 there was a couple and the girl was sobbing, waiting to get on the plane, sobbing and talking about how he hooked up with his ex-girlfriend. So this girl clearly just found out that he, I know, why are we laughing? We always laugh in the worst times. It's like, I feel bad. So she's sobbing.
Starting point is 00:35:47 And clearly like to him, she's talking to him. But so loudly, like everyone can hear it. Right. Similar situation. Like they're fighting about it, but she's sobbing. And she's I think she had just found out he was cheating on her with his ex-girlfriend. Right. OK. She's like, I'm going like in front of him to get on the plane. And then as soon as she starts walking, she stops. She goes, come on. What are we doing? No, ditch his ass. And then they had to sit on this little because it's like one of those little teeny tiny planes had to sit together for, you know, an hour on this flight. Like, are you guys cool now? Like, that literally makes my stomach hurt.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Like, there are so many people who are in really toxic relationships though I mean we've been in a past like it's happening we can't act like we don't but for me I think that is why it's such a trigger because I'm like you don't have to do that and it is the grossest feeling in the world to have to deal with that kind of stuff I mean people are makes my skin crawl these fucking guys it's not just guys I don't want to paint guys in a bad light it's obviously girls are really fucking toxic too but the two situations that we saw, it was these these guys, these fucking gross guys. Well, and just the dynamic of two people who should not be together. Clearly, I mean, I don't think that any two people who are in love should ever get to that
Starting point is 00:36:58 point with each other. You know, you should always be able to diffuse the situation or whatever. They need therapy and we can't do that right now. They should break up and or go to therapy. Yeah. Okay. So then we go to Paros for three nights. And do you remember when we first got to Paros and we got into town, we were like, oh my God, this is what Greece is. It's like a smaller, cuter, quieter Mykonos. It's so unbelievable. And I was so afraid because I thought the whole thing about like taking little boats to another island would be like this stressful thing like would take like it would kind of break up your vacation too much because if you go to greece go to different islands it was the easiest thing
Starting point is 00:37:32 in the world it was so easy they have it set up so so uh well that you get there and those ferries are efficient as fuck so efficient they have a line of people when you get on like grabbing your bags putting them away when you get off the like grabbing your bags, putting them away. Do, do, do, do. When you get off the boat, like grabbing, here you go. Because they do this all day long, get people on and off the boat and they race you there. But you should totally do it. Jump around. But when we got to Paros, it was like,
Starting point is 00:37:52 we were so ready to be there. It was such a calm. But it was just as beautiful as Mykonos, if not more beautiful. And then we would go into the towns at night and it had that same feel as Mykonos, the tiny little windy roads and the white and the blue. And it was so the people were so nice. People were so nice and respectful. No one's pushing each other out of the way. And you could walk through like an old, quiet city. It was
Starting point is 00:38:12 just like so beautiful. What about when we got there and our driver had my dad's name on the thing? So the guy who picked us up from the boat dock, it said Michael Anderson. That's my dad. My dad passed away a few years ago. It said Michael Anderson on a thing. It was the wildest thing. I think that's such a sign. Like, I don't, I think it's, I don't think we can ignore stuff like that. Like, how would they ever get that name?
Starting point is 00:38:33 Like, it's just so random, you know? And I think that was definitely a sign from your dad. Just saying. But then from there, like it was the most calm, quiet island ever. You love the hotel. I didn't. So you want to know what's funny?
Starting point is 00:38:45 Well, I hated the food at the hotel. And food at the hotel is a big deal. Well, thank God we can agree on that. Because I was like. Our room was awesome though. Yeah, she got like a much bigger room. Like the pool. Like we just got like a standard room.
Starting point is 00:38:58 Because it was like a really nice hotel. Usually we'll get like a nicer room. But at this place, I was like, it looked so beautiful. And they were saying it was like the nicest hotel in paris or whatever and they were really expensive rooms they weren't cheap very expensive so i was like oh we'll get the regular room or whatever it was not very nice whatever i don't want to complain about the room but my thing is when we went around they gave us a tour of the hotel and they're like our food here is made by such and such chef which the food would be good if you were eating
Starting point is 00:39:26 like that for every meal. But like when we were there for three days or whatever, I can't eat that for lunch. I'm like, bro, no, no, no. Their dinner was a Michelin star or the best. No, that's it's the same kitchen, but it's a different menu. It's not the same chef. Their breakfast and lunch is like bar food like shitty bar food and their dinner is the best chef on the island oh okay did we ever eat dinner we had appetizers there one night remember we got the beef tartare and like all that remember the beef tartare okay then okay then that was good then their pool food is shit it's awful and what it is is it's like when i'm at a place like that i want to eat healthy yeah so my they wouldn't do adjustments that's when i turned off because
Starting point is 00:40:09 i actually will eat whatever you put in front of me but like when you're making a salad but you're putting all of this goo all over it like they had like this like i was eating fried chicken sandwiches like that was my only option yeah that was the thing and i was like is there any way i could get the fried chicken without like a bun and they were like they looked at me like i was like from planet whatever planet i was gonna say planet earth because it didn't feel like it didn't feel like we were on earth there but like we were on the moon like and at that point the way that people were looking at us like we also came in just like a hog mess like because it's the quietest island and we just came off of like six days apart and we're like,
Starting point is 00:40:45 like, we thought it was just getting well. It was silent. Like the most quiet hotel. That kind of sent me for a spin. Yeah. I know you weren't into the hotel from the get go. I thought the hotel was really beautiful.
Starting point is 00:40:56 I loved our room. We had a really cool pool in our room with a beach view, which was awesome. But the food really was a letdown. Remember the eggs? They were so good. Such a bummer too. Yeah. It was just, it it wasn't it wasn't good. Wasn't the vibe. But what else? Oh, and you know, it was another fun night in Paros. Well, we
Starting point is 00:41:13 got after it one night and we went to the gay bar, which I thought was so much fun. OK, so we stumble into like the only gay bar on the island. We walk in there. It was a ghost town. Yeah. Oh, yeah. OK, like let me it was just us. But there were can we talk about before we went, though, like how drunk we were? So we remember we went to this little place overlooking the bay. Mark and I each got our own dirty martini and split an espresso martini. This is after dinner, after we were fucking drunk already. Like that's the that's the vibe of the the night. Actually a wild night. There was a lot of drinking. So we, yes, you're exactly right. We went to a long dinner where the guy, remember the dinner was so good. And the guy was so nice. He kept bringing us drinks or whatever. He was the nicest guy ever. So we left dinner hammered. We went to
Starting point is 00:41:58 another bar and this, the girl, the same thing. Remember she loved us. She's like, you're my favorite table I've ever had. And it wasn't a thing. Like she didn't know who Kristen was or anything. She was very great. Yeah. We were just nice. And we were talking to her. she's like you're my favorite table i've ever had and it wasn't a thing like she didn't know who kristen was or anything she was very great yeah we were just nice and we were talking to her she's like i've never met people like you and she kept bringing us shots and doing shots with us i was like girl you're on the clock like you need to calm down but we were like we left there hammered and then scoots like let's go to the gay bar so we walk in there really really quiet no one's on the little tiny dance floor that they have but everyone's kind of sitting at these little tables around the area right we turned that place into a nightclub when we left everyone was on the dance floor like dancing going so hard again the guys who owned it
Starting point is 00:42:36 those guys were the owners it was like that really they were like these handsome handsome gay guys and they kept bringing us more shots and more drinks because they were like, yay. We're doing yay. Yeah. Oh my God. I haven't done Jager bomb since I was like 21. But we turned that place into such a party. Like, I don't think they've ever seen. They didn't want us to leave.
Starting point is 00:42:55 It's why they kept giving us drinks or whatever. And then we left like everyone. There's like, wait, where are you guys going? Like we were the party. I was doing the cha-cha. And whipping my little fucking ponytail around
Starting point is 00:43:06 when I get really drunk I just like whip my hair around and then the next day I'm always like why is my neck hurting nothing makes me happier than when you let loose like that though
Starting point is 00:43:15 I love that so much that's why like I didn't want to leave at all that was my biggest night like my wildest night I would say we went after it that night but also
Starting point is 00:43:24 hello shout out to mark because mark was so chill in that environment and i mean these guys who are working at the bar the way they were looking at mark like they were trying to figure it out like who is this guy like i kept going up to him and being like yeah christian's like hanging all over my calm down christian but he was so cool about the whole thing not that he would be be weird or anything, but I do think that that's, I think for a lot of men, the first time going to a gay bar, that was his first time at a gay bar.
Starting point is 00:43:49 Right. I mean, I also think you guys are like the first gay couple. He's really spent a lot of time around. Scoot and I talked about that actually, because we spent 10 days together and obviously Kristen Scoot and I travel so much together. So putting Mark into the mix,
Starting point is 00:44:01 you never know what direction it's going to go. Yeah. Easiest thing in the world, easiest thing in the world. But then Scoot and then scoot and i were talking about that like we're probably the only gay couple he's ever hung out with like that and it was like it was so easy so comfortable i know no he i mean he loves you guys well he's like they're like bros which i mean you guys aren't like overly flamboyant and like obnoxiously gay he kept saying that to us to like when we'd be like drinking over he's like you guys are just like bros like you guys are so
Starting point is 00:44:24 cool and i in my head I was like, I get it. I mean the stereotype that you see of like gay men on like TV shows and stuff, just being like wild and over the top or whatever, which is why I also think TV would like show more whatever, you know? But he, he kept saying that. I was like, he's so cool. He's so great. He's the best. He's the best. Okay. You want to know what I'm going to do? You guys, we're going to do a part two because we're like halfway done. We're not even. So we're going to stop here
Starting point is 00:44:48 and then we'll see you next week for part two of the Mekanos recap. Adios.
