Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Wednesday One Shots, the series where
Starting point is 00:00:49 we bring you a bonus story to get you through that midweek slump. This week we have a story by an author named Lee. I'm a 24 year old female that works as a front desk agent for a hotel right off of a major highway. Needless to say, I've had my fair share of interactions with creeps and weirdos checking in and out of that place. I usually worked the second shift or third shift, but on this particular day I covered for the girl who was supposed to work first. I was tending to the breakfast buffet as
Starting point is 00:01:19 well as running the front desk, so I was fairly busy, as not many workers were scheduled to work at that time. As I was in the kitchen area, refreshing the coffee, I heard a ding at the front desk. It was from the bell that I left out for guests that needed to get my attention if I stepped away from the desk. I stopped what I was doing, and I walked to the door that leads to the desk. The door had a keypad that required a combination to unlock and open the door. The combination was only known by the employees.
Starting point is 00:01:53 As I was trying to put in the combination, I felt like somebody was breathing on my neck. It startled me so I turned around. A short older man was right behind me. My nearly jumped out of my skin, as I said, oh, I'm sorry, give me a moment. Go around to the front desk and I'll be right there. I assumed that he was a guest. He grunted as if I was inconveniencing him, but I didn't think anything of it. When I returned to my station behind the front desk, he was tapping his fingers like he was in a hurry. I asked, so how can I help you, sir?" He looked at me and said, room 250 called for a cab on their taxi driver and they're not out front. There was no room 250 at my hotel, and I advised him of that, suggesting his customer was likely
Starting point is 00:02:43 at the hotel across the street. He raised his voice and angrily said, no, I know I'm at the right hotel. In the blink of an eye, his whole demeanor changed, and he started to ask me personal questions. He asked me about my race, age, and relationship status. I was so uncomfortable. Naively I answered his questions but told him I was married. This was so uncomfortable. Naively, I answered his questions, but told him I was married. This was a lie. Then I told him my manager was calling me from the back office, which was another lie. I excused myself to go to the back room where I watched him on camera
Starting point is 00:03:16 until I saw him walk out. I let about five minutes go by before I went back to the front. When I opened the side door to the front desk, the taxi driver was standing right there. He got in my face and smiled. His teeth looked like they were all chipped and jagged. My heart started racing. He grabbed my arm, got really close and said, I think you're beautiful. And I know you said you're married. But we can be friends, right?" Before I could speak, scream or even react, he pulled me even closer and said, friends, right? He just kept saying this in my face over and over again. I was terrified.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Finally, the headhousekeeper saw this interaction, pulled me behind the front desk, and yelled at the man to leave. She asked if she could call the cops, but I was in shock, and I just said no. When my shift ended, I went home, and my general manager called me and asked me about the situation. I explained what happened, and I told him that I was never working first shift alone, again. He agreed and picked up the first shift for the next three days by himself. My manager told me that the taxi driver came in looking for me every single day. The driver asked my manager personal questions about my work schedule and where I live. A few days later, my coworker who was a maintenance man, sat outside of uniform and waited for
Starting point is 00:04:40 the taxi to drive up. When the taxi arrived, my coworker pretended to be a guest and struck up a conversation with him. My coworker asked, did you see that hot little thing behind the front desk? The taxi driver replied, oh yeah, that's why I'm here. I've been trying to catch her every single day this week but no luck. I wanna keep her with me, always. My coworker then broke character and told the taxi driver, if he ever came back, he would seriously hurt him.
Starting point is 00:05:13 My manager called the police and we made a police report. We reported the guy to his taxi company as well. So to the creepy Jagged Tooth taxi driver, let's never meet again. Thank you for listening and thank you to Lee for submitting that story Taxi Driver Terror.
