Hi guys, and welcome back to a very special episode of Ask Uncut.
I'm Laura.
And I'm Brittany.
Hi Brittany.
Hi Laura.
so ask uncut is our bonus episode that we do each week where we answer your deep dark and dirty
questions that you write into our at life uncut podcast instagram page and you know what we give
you our unqualified but very very heartfelt advice and let me tell you when we started this section
we put a call out for the questions i thought maybe you would get i don't know 20 or 30
two three four hundred questions a week laura this is how many people have problems like us
i'm just gonna say it makes me feel so great and this is probably a mean thing to say but i feel
so great that there are so many other people going through the same sort of shit that i'm going
through makes me feel very human guys so i really appreciate one that you trust us to give you
advice and just two that we're all the same we're all in the same boat oh i love hearing the messed
up stories from some people because I'm like I'm not the only one doing this and speaking of this
you know last episode when I told you that ridiculous situation I was in where I took a
really ugly selfie to send to my sister because that's what we do we always try and out ugly each
other in our photos and if you didn't listen to last episode I sent that to the guy I was texting
so I sent that to my new love interest. Britt literally sent the ugliest photo of her imaginable
to the hottest guy that she is dating.
I was in bed, no makeup.
I had just woken up.
I had my eye mask on.
I had no hair.
I looked like a bald boy.
Anyway, so we had a few people actually write in
and talk about their accidentally unfiltered situations.
And I just want to read you one
because I laughed so hard at this poor girl.
She said, I liked it.
You're like, I laughed so hard at her misfortune.
You poor darling.
Because she did, she's done what I've done
with the ugly selfie,
but she actually added a caption to it.
And her caption is everything.
she said before i met a guy in person we met on tinder we were snapchatting and organizing our
first date we had agreed on a time and a place i immediately took the ugliest selfie i'm talking
no makeup fresh out of the shower red skin towel turban on my head double chin and i sent it to my
sister saying quote guess who locked in her first date but can you guess who she actually sent it to
she almost died but fast forward and they're still dating good on that guy though like you
know what you want a guy that has a bit of sense of humor you don't want someone who's gonna see
that and go oh no i'm only gonna date you because you're a hottie and you know what he has seen her
at her worst she could only impress like there's no catfishing in this sense it gets better like
you can only surprise and delight in that situation she rocks up and he's gonna be like
oh my oh my god well we should get married because you are a Victoria's Secrets model
oh god guys so like I said this is a completely judgment-free zone we you know we understand that
everyone's going through some pretty dark and hairy stuff at different points in their lives
and we all make really shit decisions sometimes so if we can be of any help in giving our advice
that is what we're here for and secondly this is not some voyeuristic fetish that we
kind of no it is for you for sure for sure but no the reason like i said the reason why is because
we can really relate to a great huge chunk of the questions that we receive yeah and i know that you
guys are relating a lot to our stories which is why we try to be so honest and unfiltered with
you speaking of stories have you seen meat raffle again and we need to figure out a new name we
can't call him meat raffle no his name is meat raffle meaty raffle um i have not seen him yet
but we have been sliding into the old text message dm and i think there'll be one on the horizon i
think we'll see each other again can you please go on a date before next week's episode because
we all are waiting for updates okay so how do i am a little bit concerned about my whole life in
general i'm just gonna air my concern with you i've had a lot of people writing in just in the
last few days saying please Brittany don't in a in a nice way don't ever fall in love because like
we just want to keep hearing your stories but guys that's the whole point of this is that I'm
trying to fall in love and I'm trying to meet the one but no you can't you have to stay single
forever because otherwise you're dead to me and you're fired off this podcast I feel like if you
can't bring dating stories no fucking come that's what I'm worried about like what am I going to do
if I actually fall in love so guys can you guys put some positive energy out there I just feel
like these people are sitting at home with like a little mini voodoo doll of Brittany being like
never fall in love because we need the stories that's just me that's just you okay Britt come
at me with the very first question all right the first question is a doozy so she says I'm actually
a bit nervous to ask but I wonder what your opinions are on the other woman I have been
having a long-distance romance with a married man for four months we met when he was in Sydney for
business and then we met up overseas again on another business trip and we speak every day
am i doing the wrong thing i'm single and he is married and the key word is married oh gosh
brit have you ever been the other woman no i have oh no i was but i didn't know remember from have
you ever been the other woman and known and known what you were doing no but have you yeah
do you know what i did i didn't know at the start i found out when we were a little bit further down
the rabbit hole. And it was really, I mean, I had known this guy for a long time. And so I was
really in love with him. And so it was very, very difficult situation, but it ended up being the
unraveling of us. It never works out in the way that you want it to for the other woman. And it
only leaves you feeling one upset because the relationship didn't work out. And two, because
you've just totally done something that has corrupted your moral compass. So I can give
advice from, from my experience. And, and that is that 100% you're doing the wrong thing. And I have
a deep regret that I ever did that. And I think that it's a really, really selfish move and you're
not thinking about anybody else in this. The other part to this though, that I think is really
important to remember is that there's not two people, there's three people in this and two
people are making choices every day they're lying they're being deceitful they're being unkind and
untrue and living living in a way that is definitely going to unravel but the wife that's
whose life is going to be destroyed by this situation she's the one who is the complete
victim in this whole thing so I think that you have to kind of step out of yourself and stop
being so selfish and make a choice that's not for you but it's it's for somebody else
I also wonder and I'm just literally wondering I'm speaking now as I'm thinking I wonder if in
these situations is it this idea of um being a bit naughty and sneaking around and does that
make it more desirable like I wonder if those two met he wasn't married they could just be in an
open relationship I wonder if they would still have the same feelings do you know what I mean
yeah the secrecy and like the wanting what you can't have almost intensifies the feelings that
there because realistically you've only known this guy for four months and the reality is and
they've only met twice in that four months yeah can i say and the reality is is if he's doing this
to his wife someone who he's had a long-term relationship with someone who he has made huge
commitments to someone who he has made a vow to if he can do that to his wife and lie to his wife
in that way he's absolutely lying to you as well maybe he's downplaying his relationship maybe he's
telling you that they're on the rocks maybe there are so many other aspects to this but i guarantee
you that if he's lying to her he's lying to you as well yeah and it is this idea of wanting what
you can't have it it's everything in life the second you put yourself on a no sugar diet you
want to go have some chocolate the second you say you can't do something you want it and then
there's this romanticism that maybe he's your end game he's going to leave his wife you're going to
ride up into the sunset on your horse but it's highly highly highly unlikely that that is going
to happen it's also going to come with it a lot of drama let's say let's project this and say maybe
he does one day in a year's time he he does leave his wife you have just invited for the next year
of your life so much drama into your life so much hurt so many different types of insecurities are
going to come with dating someone who's already married it's just not worth it but if you think
that he would leave his wife to be with you and then be faithful to you for the whole time
I apologize but that will not happen if he has cheated on his wife with you he's probably going
to do the same thing to you when he's with you and he'll have someone else on the side someone
else on a business trip every time he goes away you'll wonder where he's going who he's with
that's just a no to it's a no from me it's a really really firm no and I think deep down you
know that this is the wrong thing to do and it is a really selfish thing to do I'm not saying that
you are the one that's completely to blame. I think he, this guy is an A grade fuck boy,
like the fuck boy is still fuck boys. So that's where I sit on the fence with this. I think that
you really need to cut it and go no contact because you're also limiting yourself from
meeting someone who will give you a great relationship because you're mentally and
emotionally tied up in someone who is taken. I was going to say what I always try and do in
any situation is put yourself in that person's shoes so put yourself in the wife's shoes imagine
if your husband was going away and hooking up with someone else like this is what i suggest to
this girl freaking can well for one second i would literally cut matt's penis off when i found out
that yeah she be it and like make a kapacho out of it so i feel like think if that was you and
you were the wife and not the other woman how horrific you would feel and yeah it's a it's a
move along from me totally it sounds like one of the most benign things to say like it's like
oh you know it looks sounds like a hallmark quote but treat other people the way that you want to
be treated I feel like that saying kind of sums this whole situation up and I really think get
the fuck out of there very quickly all righty let's do question number two okay question number
two my best friend since I was in year four has recently told me she has cheated on her boyfriend
of seven years and he's the nicest guy and he's also her friend too now I'm stuck with what to do
I've also found out that she has gone and done it again with a different guy but she hasn't told me
that I found that out through someone else I feel like her boyfriend needs to know it's so unfair to
him do I tell him what do I do oh my god that's so hard isn't it I think we've all been in this
situation where or not all I can't say everyone but I I think I've been in a situation before
where I've known a friend has cheated on her partner or a guy's cheated on his partner and
they've been my friend. And what do you do? Because you're friends with both of them.
It hasn't, I'm lucky. It hasn't happened to me to this level of when it's a best friend. I've had
like people I've known and friends where you've known it's happened, but I'm lucky. I'm like,
oh, that's not my responsibility. I'm not close enough.
It just goes to show though, that cheating doesn't just have an impact on one person.
It has such a massive impact on all the people who are a part of that relationship as well. Like
the flow and effect of cheating is much greater like just why don't go guys keep your dick in
your pants for god's sakes keep it in your pants both of you like be nice people god damn it i
think i understand why this girl's in a sticky situation because i guess it's happened i mean
she's friends with both of them now it's happened not once but twice i part of me is yes that he
needs to know but i don't know if you should be the one to tell him i think maybe i think maybe
she needs to go and speak to her friend and say, I'm not comfortable in this situation. I know what
you've been doing and it's putting me in an awkward situation. You either need to stop it
and keep it in your pants or you need to tell your boyfriend. I totally agree. I do think that
there's, there's two relationships that are at stake here. And I mean, for, for the girl who's
written in, what are we going to call her? Give her a name. Let's just call her Bethany. Okay.
so to bethany so your situation is obviously that you want to maintain a friendship with your
girlfriend if you don't want to maintain that friendship then go and tell him by all means like
if you think that that's going to be the best outcome and you don't really care about the
friendship then i think that you can go and do that however if you're trying to keep peace with
everyone and you care about the friendship that you have with your friend i think first priority
is to go and speak to your friend and say exactly that say you have put me in a horrible situation
I think that your partner should know and the fact is if she'd done it once and it was a mistake and
was never going to do it again then I kind of think better don't say anything to him just kind
of talk to your friend and leave it at that but the fact that she's done this multiple times now
this situation that you're in is so uncomfortable but I still think it's not your place to go and
speak to him necessarily I do think the first point of contact is to speak to your friend
and say exactly how you feel
and exactly the situation that you've been put in
and what the outcomes are
because there are consequences that come with cheating.
I've actually, like, I've been trying to think really hard
about what I would do in this situation
because they're your best friend, you know.
Let's make it relative.
Okay, so I'll say it to you.
So if Matt cheated on you, Laura.
Yes.
And I knew.
I told you I would carpaccio his penis.
Are you listening, Matt?
No, but if-
With a little side of balsamic glaze.
And then salt to make it sting.
Oh, yeah.
Salt that wound up real good.
But Matt's cheated on you, right?
And I know.
Would you want to know or would you want to pretend it never happened?
Firstly.
If Matt had cheated on me once and he was really sorry for it
and was never going to do it again, I don't think I would want to know.
Okay.
So say he's cheated on you once and then he has gone out
and hooked up with someone a second time and I know this now.
Would you want me to tell you?
Oh, yeah.
If he cheated on me twice and you knew about it, 100%.
Because that's patterned behavior.
That's not just one time, made a mistake, never going to do it again.
That's one time, got away with it, second time that you know of.
Who knows there's not a third and fourth time in there.
But would you want me to come and tell you and pull you aside and just say,
look, as your friend, I can't sit by?
Or would you want me to go to Matt and say, I know, and you need to go deal with it?
Look, to be honest, I would want you to tell me straight up.
But I also understand that you prioritize your friendship with Matt as well.
and that's important to you. So I would say that you would need to go and speak to Matt first.
That would be what I would think would be a reasonable outcome. So I agree. I do think that
this person, Bethany, the name that you just got given, Bethany, I think that your very first point
of call is to go and speak to your girlfriend and lay down some ground rules about how this
makes you feel and what the outcomes are going to be, because there are consequences to these
actions, unfortunately. Now that we've role played, I think I would actually go for the
approach of, I think I would go to Matt and I would say, I mean, the cheater, I'd give him a
timeframe. I would say you have got until the end of the week. And if you don't tell her yourself,
I'm telling her. My only issue with this bread, my only issue is that ultimatums can backfire.
And so if she's going to give her friend an ultimatum and say, you have to tell him,
or I'm going to tell him that could be at the expense of her friendship. And she may not want
to like the girl who's been cheating may not want to remain friends with her anymore. So I think
that that's something that you need to accept and be okay with first, because this, the action that
you take will also have an effect on your relationship with your friend. But I mean,
what's your last message then? She wants to know if she tells him, are you going to say,
go and tell him? No, I'm going to say, go and speak to your friend, explain how you feel and
advise that you think that she needs to tell him and leave that up to her to make some decisions
in that area. And then maybe like take some time to think about how you feel. If you really can't
live with yourself without telling him, then go and tell him, but understand that that will
probably come at the sacrifice of your friendship. Let's move on to the next question then, Laura,
which is for you. I'm reading it. You'll put your hand out, but it's for you.
It's for me. It is for you. It's like Christmas, isn't it?
Specifically for me. Specifically for you, because I have not had anything
come out of my vagina and you have. Oh, okay. Sure. That was graphics.
so well that's why i know it's for you it's a baby i'm hoping it is it's definitely a baby so
this says well done to laura for giving a natural birth please share how it was having sex again
after how long did you really have to wait post childbirth why did you choose this topic i just
thought it would might actually be relevant to a lot of people i know we have a lot of like
mom listeners young moms new moms moms to be um i can't comment because i haven't given birth but
i just thought it was an interesting one i did comment about how we haven't been having much
sex but i can definitely talk about what the sex is like hit me with the rest of the question
basically that's it how long did you have to wait and what's it like like how has your sex
life changed i guess okay so firstly i don't know i don't feel like i should be congratulated at all
for having a natural birth i think there are so many things that happen in childbirth and there
are so many choices that get taken away from you just because of the situation and and things go
wrong and things don't go to plan. So you kind of have to be a bit mentally adaptable that maybe
what you want or your idea of the perfect, perfect birth may not be what happens. And so I do think
that, you know, there are a lot of people who choose cesareans for whatever reason, and that's
totally a personal choice. And for me, I was at my sister's birth when she had her baby and she
had a natural birth. And so I really enjoyed being a part of that experience. It was a really
beautiful experience and so i kind of wanted the same thing for myself in regards to sex okay this
is my gripe my gripe is and i even said this to one of the doctors the doctors tell you and your
partner that you'll be ready for sex at the six week mark i'm like why the fuck do they need to
tell your partner that can't they just tell them she'll be ready in four months and then on the
side like whisper to you and be like oh like you'll probably be ready in six so but we won't tell him
so you can make the decision up yourself.
So Matt had it marked in his diary?
Literally.
So we get to six weeks, Mark, and Matt's like,
hey, you're ready to, and I'm sorry.
If you have just had a baby and you were ready to have sex
at the six-week mark, my God, you, woman, you are incredible
and I wish I was you.
You are amazing.
I was not ready.
I was so tired.
The thought of having sex would make me want to cry.
So I think we wait.
It's just you're so tired.
I don't want it's like asking someone to ask you to run up a flight of stairs it doesn't sound good
at that time I feel like at that point you could probably all starfish at all this side spoon just
let him go I was like that is what has got us in this place in the first place you keep your devil
dick away from me god damn it so all right long story okay that you weren't ready at six weeks I
wasn't ready at six weeks we had sex at about eight weeks I love that I overshare on this
podcast you're all welcome so eight weeks we had sex to be perfectly honest I was expecting because
I had a lot of stitches I was expecting it to be horrific I was expecting it to be like shark week
like a massacre and it was fine it was actually so fine I was pleasantly surprised it didn't hurt
it wasn't scary it was exactly as I had remembered it being nothing seemed any different if anything
to be perfectly honest this is really an overshare when I was pregnant and this happens to a lot of
people my vagina was so massive it was what do you mean it gets really swollen sometimes maybe
just for me but my my vagina was so swollen it had been stung by a bee type thing yes it had been
stung by a bee Brittany that is the perfect explanation for what it was it was so swollen
but it went away as soon as I had had Marley and so when we had sex again for the first time
because we were having sex throughout my pregnancy things were getting weird then when we had sex for
the first time eight weeks I was like oh my god this is what it used to be like I remember this
I can see it now that's amazing so it was actually fine yeah don't be scared guys if you've had a
baby and you're worried about what your sex life is going to be like you will 100% get that mojo
back you might just be a bit more tired I mean I also imagine that everyone's different whether
you have a natural birth maybe you have stitches maybe you have a c-section your recovery might be
different you might have other kids at home you might be more tired everyone is going to have a
different recovery and a different you know your hormones are going to come back differently so
some people might want to have sex straight away and some people might want to just wait i think
it's just a year well i think it's just when you're ready you'll be ready some people might
have the blues you know but also i think there's so many there's so much pressure after having a
baby. Everything feels like there's pressure. You know, there's pressure to do the right thing as a
mom. There's pressure about sleeping. There's pressure about whether you're doing the right
thing or if they're eating enough. You don't need to have more pressure about when or what or how
is the right way of getting back into sex. That stuff will come. It just doesn't seem as important
as soon as you have a baby because there's other things that you prioritize. For sure.
That's my thoughts on sex post baby. Thanks for sharing. But we're getting back into it guys. I
did say it was my big 2020 resolution was that i'm gonna have more sex this year so i'll keep
you posted well i mean we're a month in nearly how's it going done any better we're three weeks
in aren't we come on but it's still 2020 yeah look okay if we were gonna break it down for the
three-week period the tally is not great but i'm gonna like i'm gonna backload this year not front
load this year i don't think i should be saying backload when we're talking about sex at all
anyway so maybe just like really i'm gonna load this year yeah guys get in it all right come on
let's get to number three question number four sorry that was question number three question
number four question number four this is the last question because we always like to keep this short
and sharp i've been with my boyfriend for a year almost and we live together i went to see family
at christmas and he stayed home because of work he was staying at my parents house looking after
the dogs he brought a girl home and i know this because it was caught on the family security
system it was a drunken night out and he said he didn't sleep with her because he couldn't aka the
guilt set in questionable he said he was going to tell me about it when i got home because he
didn't want to tell me the news over text we have a huge communication rule in our relationship where
even if it's the worst news in the world we will tell each other so i do believe he would have told
me basically the question is does she stay when she thinks it's an he's an end game but that trust
is broken oh or does she leave when she thinks he's end game this is so hard because nobody knows
your relationship like you do and there there are situations when you can overcome cheating i don't
think that cheating is always like, that's it. It's over. We're never going to be together again.
I do think that there are ways to overcome it. The issue with this is you caught him out. He got
caught out on this act, like pretty spectacularly. And I guess, do you trust that it wasn't anything
more than just him inviting someone home? Like why, why is he inviting someone home if not to
sleep with them? Because that's pretty crazy, right? Like if, if you're going to invite a girl
back to your house, to stay in your bed, like you're going to have sex with that girl. That's
your intention. So I don't know. I think for me, I would be having a really, really good think about
why I want this guy to be end game, because you don't want this stuff to be happening when you're
married. And if you can't go away for a week or two weeks without the guy needing to go and get
his dick wet, he's not someone you should be marrying. He's not someone who's end game. He's
got a hell of a lot of growing up to do before you make those decisions well also there comes
this level of trust how do you know he hasn't done that before the sentence where she says
we are very honest and we always tell each other everything even if it's bad
i think that is being very optimistic on her behalf and i wonder if he would have told her
if she didn't call him out on it early i do think that that's a very optimistic
thought and that is giving him the benefit of the doubt. I think in this instance, if you are going
to overcome this and you have decided that you want to stay with your partner, then one, you're
going to have to be able to forgive him for this. You're going to have to be able to take some time
to actually really get over it. But I also think that he's going to have to come to the plate and
he's going to have to have full transparency with things like his phone. You're going to be able to
have access to his phone for a period of time. You're going to be able to ask questions and he's
not going to get defensive when you ask questions or he's going to give you really honest answers
where you feel like you're being heard and being considered because this is not a small thing and
i do think that he's probably giving you best case scenario that puts him in the best light
like at the end of the day you caught him on a security camera cheating on you
the facts are there they're black family home they're black and white and it doesn't get
it doesn't get much worse than than that i agree with laura that i don't not that how do i word
this not that there are times that cheating is okay but i because then it's not but i agree that
chief there's cheating in a relationship it doesn't mean it's over necessarily you can work
through it depends on the reasons etc totally and also depends on your history it depends on how
long you've been together and it and yeah why like why did this happen the build up everything like
that and and what he says and does after it actions speak louder than words is he is showing
you that he's sorry is he like laura said is he giving you access to anything you want in terms of
his phone or his computer or whenever you are feeling insecure. But the big, big question here
is if you want to stay with him forever, can you trust him? Because if you say no,
then you can't stay with him. I agree. You need to leave because there's nothing,
there's nothing in a relationship that hasn't, doesn't have trust. That's everything. And you're
just going to drive yourself crazy with thinking, what's he doing? Who's he texting? Where is he at?
if you don't have that trust and you can't rebuild that trust, you're never going to be
able to have the relationship that you thought you were going to have. It's already been broken now.
It's been severed. So you have to start fresh. And I've read a lot of studies, actually. I
wouldn't mind talking about this maybe in the future more. Yeah. I've read a lot of studies
saying that couples end up stronger and better and more in love after there's been a cheating
scandal in the relationship and they've worked through it, that they end up being better than
before but isn't it usually because there is a catalyst or a reason why i think well and if they
work through it they go to a psychologist of counseling and they do it together and they do
all the right things and they overcome the reason but this is going to take time this is not going
to be something that you guys can just put behind you and get over straight away this like cheating
is something that takes a really long time and it takes a lot of investment from both of you to
overcome so unless he's willing to really go full transparency like we said then i think that this
is going to be something that will at some point be the unraveling of the relationship brit what
would you do in this situation i'm tainted a little bit now because of how extremely i was
cheated on yeah um i wouldn't be straight up forgiving him at all and knowing me i'd probably
go rogue and I disappear for a few weeks on my own to getting my own thoughts and see how I feel
when he's not messaging me and in my face all day. Like I'd want my own space and my own mind
to really think about it. Cause I don't think you can deal with that in your mentally when you're
in the same house, in the same bed with a person that's literally just betrayed you the day before.
I totally agree. Like take some, take some solid time out to do some, some self exploration to
really figure out how you feel. Cause it might be too fresh to even know how you feel yet.
I know when something bad has happened in my life or I've been cheated on, usually I feel really angry to start with and I have these really intense, I'm going to kill you and it's over, I'm done.
And then that softens a little bit and then I feel more sad and then it's the why and the how and the what are we going to do next kind of sets in.
So I do think you don't want to have a drastic reaction, but take some time to think about.
How do you really feel at essence and at your core?
Because that might take a little while to really surface
and for you to really figure that out for yourself.
There can be also this other immediate reaction that happens in a situation
and that is where the woman does the opposite
and she starts to say, please don't leave me.
You know, she goes into the, oh my God, you're seeking other people.
I can't be without you.
She's not even angry that he's cheated because she's more worried about,
don't leave me, I can't be without you.
So I, this is why I think the spacing is so imperative because you need to sort your own
brain out and your feelings with nothing, with no like outside sources, basically.
Oh yeah.
Girlfriend.
Don't do that.
Do not, do not think that you will never find someone better than him because being on your
own is better than being with someone who cheats on you.
Amen.
100%.
There's no argument there.
Straight up hundy.
So hundy, hundy percent, hundy, hundy.
Sing hallelujah, sing it.
I'm here to preach, sister.
Pull up a chair.
So I think that's what you need to ask yourself.
Is there trust?
Can you trust him?
Can you get over this?
If the answer to either of those questions is no or you're not sure,
then that's your answer.
Bye.
See you next.
Thank you, next.
Oh, yeah, sorry.
Thank you, next.
You were so not up with the hip youth these days.
