What are your thoughts on sex on a first date?
Oh, I was just getting really anxious then.
I'm like, what's she going to ask me?
Some like weird sex move or something?
How do you feel about anal?
hey guys welcome to another episode of life uncut i am your host britney and i'm laura
and we have just been in hysterics for about 20 minutes reading things that you guys have
been writing in trying to get this podcast started how many times have we just recorded
this intro look we've been recording the intro multiple times but the the recording of the intro
was because we forgot how to use the broadcasting equipment.
But we're back.
Don't you worry.
We're here.
This is what happens when you self-produce.
This is what happens when you've got no idea what you're doing.
If we could show you guys what we're doing,
we look at a button and we look at each other.
We're like, what do you reckon this button does?
We just like slide it up.
It's literally like Homer Simpson on that episode where it says,
do not press the red button.
And then there's Brittany trying to push the volume controls.
Anyway, I'm so happy that you're in my ears right now.
Britt, how was your week?
My week?
Oh my God, you're going to be so proud of me.
because Laura and I often don't see each other. So you guys know we talk a lot, but we're so busy
during the week. We don't see each other. So we get together and we just word vomit everything
to each other. We have so many stories to tell. Pretty much. We just do it all with the microphones
on and you poor things have to listen to it. Well, because of some things you've said to me
in the past, I, you need to date more. I've been dating more. Oh, I think that you're just doing
this for market research for the podcast. That's what I tell myself. If it's a really bad date,
I'm like had to do it market research wait so how many dates have you had well I had let me count
one plus two okay three I had three three dates this week yeah how do you feel about that that's
really aggressive it's aggressive dating it's Wednesday
oh hang on a minute don't make me sound like a little bloody dating donut is that even a thing
it's definitely not a thing it is now because you go around in circles like get it don't don't
Yeah, sure. A merry-go-round? Is that what we're calling you now? Or the town bike? Which one?
Oh, whoa. Okay, we're going to get that actually, sex on a first date. We're going to be talking
about that today. But no, I would not say a bike. Thank you very much.
Tell me about your date.
Excuse me, you can't call me out on that when you were the one that was encouraging me to date.
No, I know. But I was encouraging you to date so that I had some stories to live through.
Not to go on three dates in a week. But you know what? You live your dream,
girlfriend. I'm down for it.
Yeah, it's a week as in like Wednesday to Wednesday, not a week from Monday to Wednesday.
Okay, that's right.
Seven days in a week.
I like that.
So to clarify, it's not week to date.
Okay.
So tell me, are you going to give me some updates?
Wait, before we get into your new dates, can you tell me, have you seen Sit On My Face
Guy?
For everyone who listened to our first episode back and Brittany told us this awesome date
story about how it ended in a guy asking her to sit on his face.
I think that the people need to know what's happened there.
okay well I wish I had more of an update he actually we actually agreed to meet
super last minute but we were going for a walk that's very g-rated I like a walk in Centennial
Park well he knew he had to tone it down this is face sitting inappropriate territory he's not
gonna ask me here you can't in daylight in Centennial Park well you'll be arrested yeah
pretty inappropriate um anyway long story short I was super hungover and I had a meeting to get to
and I couldn't bring myself to do it.
So you were a flaker for a first date?
I didn't flake.
Well, I don't know if you'd call that a first date.
Well, we are going to be talking about dating etiquette on this episode.
And Brittany, I feel like that's some pretty shitty dating etiquette.
Oh, to be fair, it wasn't like, it wasn't a locked in date.
It was more like, hey, are you free this morning?
And I was like, oh, give me an hour to see because I had this meeting to get to.
And then I was like, I'm not going to make it.
I'm just not going to.
No, that's not a date then.
And so like, that's, that's so casual that it doesn't even remotely class as a date.
That's like, hey, let's hang out.
So I did go on three dates this week, but before we jump too far into that and too far into our
topic of the day, let's just talk about how was Laura's week? My week was good. What'd you do?
Thanks for asking. So I just got back from Bali, which I know you know, and if anybody follows on
social media, then you might also know. We were over there for work and I got a nanny for the
week in Bali and it was bloody great. Oh my gosh. So you just gave Molly up.
Are we, like, back next week?
No, I didn't leave her.
No, I was really nervous about it and a nanny who had been recommended to me
and she was, you know, had all the experience and she had children
on her own, of course I was still super nervous about it.
My God, she parented better than I parent.
I was like, oh, I'm sorry, you probably should keep my child
because you're doing a much better job than me.
So was she Balinese or was she, like, a foreign nanny living in Bali?
Yeah, she was a Balinese nanny and she was incredible.
Guys, hit me up if you need a nanny.
I'm not getting commissioned on this she was just great that's so nice though because it must be
really scary to actually be entrusting your child to someone you don't know oh it's a horrible
feeling but we were over there for work and so I just needed to have some hands-free time you know
I was in the same villa as where Marley was it wasn't like I was out doing other things but
I couldn't keep one eye on her and one eye on the work that we had to do so if anything it was just
having a second pair of hands actually a third pair of hands because Matt was over there as well
but it was incredible it was the best holiday ever and was the work it was the best working
holiday ever i take that back was the was the work you mean tony may yeah we were over there
doing like a campaign photo shoot for tony may cool just a little plug there guys can't wait to
see that yeah me too i hope that it worked out to be honest let's um let's jump in brit to the
dating etiquette chat to your dates how do you want to kick this off well something new happened
this week I went on three dates but two of them were voluntary and one of them I was purchased
for for charity right Brittany has not started prostitution if anyone's wondering uh she was
sold as part of a bushfire relief fund yeah I got really roped into this um charity event
originally I said no there's no way I can do it they asked me to auction a date and I said
absolutely no way a who's gonna pay for a date Nick didn't take it for free you were literally
like I can't get a date why would anyone buy one for me it's not my style also like what if you
don't go for very much money and someone's like look I'll put a 20 on it 20 on Brit I'm not
kidding I said to my sister and her my brother-in-law I was like you guys need to come I'll
give you a hundred. If no one bids, just throw a hundred in. I am all for this. I'd be doing the
same. Well, that's because, okay. I said, no, I was like, I just wasn't cocky enough. They're
like, why? I'm like, no, no, it's just not my thing. They wrote me into it. And they said,
you know, Brit, just think about what these amazing people are doing, saving your lives
and our country. And I was like, so I was just like, you know what? They're out there saving
our lives. The least I can do is auction myself off for a dinner date. Brit, you're such a hero.
Look at you.
Some people are out there on the front line and you're there on the back line.
Not all heroes wear capes.
You're on the date line.
Anyway, I am a dating hero, yes.
So I went to this event and to be fair, we actually raised somewhere between $15,000 and $20,000.
That's amazing.
Yeah, $19,000 of that was on my date and no, it wasn't.
I was going to say, were you like, whoa, wow, that's amazing.
So no, I actually was, I don't like to say bored.
um i was purchased can you say or like what would you say bid on like a like a raffle i was like
yeah prime prime state yeah like you're at the rsl club and old carl is at the front going you
know two for one raffle tickets get in there for the britney anyway if you would like to know the
lucky number 69 not your lucky number man oh i thought that that was the guy's lucky number
from your Apple ticket for the day?
No, so I went for somewhere between $500 and $600, which is not bad.
I can't remember if it was $500 or $600.
Let's go with $600.
Okay, I'm going to go with $600.
To be honest, some people were being bought by some unusual characters,
some older gentlemen, all lighthearted, but like there was a grandpa
that bought one of the girls just for like – it's for charity.
It's just for fun.
And I was like, oh, my God, who is going to buy me?
anyway there was this one guy that i noticed when i walked into this room because he was so big like
he's a really big guy he's obviously some sort of athlete footballer right up your alley the only
anyway i looked at him and was like oh cute whatever forgot about it i get up on the stage
for the bidding and he appears out of nowhere and just goes boom five punch boom and i was like what
the the hot guy that i noticed buying me like yes this is my moment i was like i knew 2020 was my
year he does it he was just like sold don't even not don't even let anyone bid on it he's like i
want to buy it I was like okay anyway they were like sold to the man down the front like what do
you do in this situation so I walked over to him and I was like thanks for buying me he's like
that's okay and then we had this awkward like exchange where I was like so how do you want to
do this and he straight up went let's let's go on a date right now what are you doing right now
and I loved that because it took a lot of I was like oh my god do I give you my number and then
you call me awkwardly in a week and I have to go and do this date that because you bought me a week
ago well it also takes a lot of the pressure out of that whole situation doesn't it because
obviously it's a really light-hearted date like what if it was someone who you didn't want to go
on a date with and then you've got to exchange numbers with them and that whole thing exactly
this is great although i feel like you already were pretty happy to exchange numbers with the guy
i mean he doesn't know this but i would have i would have given you my number for free if you
didn't buy me 600 how's that mate you could have saved yourself a pretty penny to get to the funny
part of this story we have to backtrack a week before a week previously I had met a guy and I
went on a date because I told you I went on three dates right I went on this date brilliant date he
was great we laughed all night we got kicked out of the restaurant at like 1am because they were
like you're the last people here like you have to go but we didn't you know those dates where you
don't stop talking yeah yeah and you don't want it to end and it just seems to be like dinner that
rolls into drinks that rolls into like what's another bar that we can go to yeah we had a
real time and then we saw each other the next day we went for a walking date and I was like this is
so great like two days in a row so much fun he was like can I see you again the next day okay but I
quite liked him so I was like sure and he's like let's go to the movies six o'clock early movie
okay great now this is the first problem five o'clock comes and he messages me and says oh I'm
a bit tired like I don't know if we should if I can go to the movie I was like the movie's at six
o'clock in an hour one of my things for dating is flakers and canceling last minute it's like a put
off for me right totally that's one of my things for life like they're not just for dating but
even friends friends who are like oh i can't make it because like i'm tired go away well then i'm
like you know what fine whatever don't worry he but he messaged me until like 10 o'clock that
night anyway so we could have been on the date he's like can we reschedule and i was like fine
i'll give him one more chance not because he didn't really do anything wrong and we'd had
this great few days so he says friday night dinner okay great friday night dinner we'd locked in the
dinner friday comes dinner was at eight o'clock he messages me and he's like i'm out with my friends
i'm a bit drunk i can't do it can we reschedule for tomorrow night saturday night and i just
wrote back no and he's like what i said no we can't reschedule for tomorrow night he's like
why and i said because he cancelled i'm not kidding it was 7 30 i was leaving the door to
get to the restaurant oh no because it's half an hour no no no no no no no and that's when it was
the second time in a week he had flaked last minute and he just said please can we reschedule
for saturday night and i said absolutely not well so friday night's like that's a big night you can't
screw up someone's friday night or their saturday night like you can screw up someone's tuesday
whatever but a friday night you don't get to own that no and because that's what happens people
cancel other plans because they've said i'm going on a date with you absolutely you could have been
out with meat raffle guy yeah exactly but then wait when did raffles fit into the story i hadn't
met meat raffle yet so this is the friday night and i just i'm just like no to this guy absolutely
not whatever i'm over it saturday morning comes meat raffle i get auctioned off he's like let's
go on a date right now great where do you want to go he picks the restaurant now i'm not going to
tell you where it was but it was a suburb that i would never go to we're sitting down we're a
bottle of wine deep having the greatest time and we're sitting next to each other a bit touchy
feeling and then i look up and half a foot in front of me is flaker standing there looking at
me the guy that wanted me to date him that night stop it like what are the odds and i burst into
laughter and you know when you run into someone you don't know i was like oh my god how you going
fancy seeing you here i haven't seen you for ages i was supposed to see you last night you
piece of shit it was actually it was the biggest fuck you because i was on a date with this great
guy what are the odds that you would run into him oh my god that is just karma working in
the most beautiful beautiful way then he gets sat next to us at the restaurant the whole time
oh stop then he messages saying oh he's got really nice hair what it's so easy to flake like it's so
easy to be non-committal and like for him to think that you're just going to be available the next
time he wants to go on a date no it was just the best divine intervention if i have ever known it
i'm i'm so happy for you and i'm also happy that you went on two dates and came with not one
but to where is the third dating story oh we can't go there yet okay to be continued okay
i mean some things can't be declared to the world some things need to ferment a little while before
we can bring them to the podcast so we maybe we need to like give this a little bit more brewing
time before you can shit on it here there will also be some things that you know like in yours
and my life that we will not bring here no that's probably a lie for you maybe honest i mean i was
talking about how I need to have more sex in the last few episodes ago. Anyway, I've realized that
I actually overshare way too much and probably should pull my head in a little bit. Your
oversharing is great. Stop breastfeeding. Great. I have two empty sacks now, guys. She's literally
squeezing her breasts right now. Empty sacks. So getting into today's episode, which is because
of Brittany's beautiful life experience that she has just brought to us we decided to talk about
dating etiquette the do's the don'ts the rules books the things that'll get you a second date
and the things that are total deal breakers both for girls and also for guys because we did our
market research for this one ladies and gentlemen we really did but you know what I want to know
straight up what is your number one deal breaker or one thing a guy can do on a date where you're
like oh hell no do you know what i went on this one date and he was so handsome he was like a pro
tennis player sexy handsome i had seen him before and we had met like briefly in in irl and then we
matched on tinder and i was like oh my god it's a hot guy yes queen and then we went on a day and
it was really cute it was like an afternoon at the bot nurse like he had planned everything
I got there and within 15 minutes of sitting down he had already started with the sexual innuendos
I ordered some arancini balls and this one doesn't even make any sense I ordered arancini balls and
I was like oh they're they're a bit hard and he goes not as hard as my balls and I was like oh I
actually don't understand what that means you should get that checked out they shouldn't be
hard why are your balls hard does he mean like that you know like the blue ball term
I don't know what he meant.
Anyway, there was about four things that he said in the space of one hour
and then I, like, hi, Tata.
I was like, cool, lovely to meet you.
I've got to go.
Had already called an Uber on my phone and it was like the Uber was here
and I was just trying to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible.
And I got out the front and he just did not take a hint that I was not interested
and he grabbed me to really aggressively kiss me.
And then whilst he was trying to kiss me, he was also trying to rub himself on me.
this is like at 4 p.m in the afternoon in botany i was just confused by the whole experience so i'm
gonna say guys that come in too strong don't play it cool and have really really hardcore sexual
innuendos just not my cup of tea or anyone's the sexual innuendo on a first date it's very
presumptuous of where that date's going to go totally obviously you know what i reckon he's
probably used to getting his way with whoever he wants and he's gone on a date with you and he's
like well this is what I do I go out hook up yeah but then that wasn't matching what my expectations
were at that point in time like I was wanting to find someone to date someone and have a boyfriend
and I met this guy and thought he was gorgeous and I thought he was quite funny and and we had
great banter in text and then as soon as I met him in real life I was like you don't have bands
you just want to get in my pants oh that was sick you didn't prepare that I can tell by the look on
your face. Even I'm stoked with myself. So that would be my, my number one. And so what are your
deal breakers for a first date? I have, I guess the one main one, I probably have heaps to be
honest, but my main one that comes to mind and it's going to be controversial. I know there'll
be people that won't agree with me, but I think if a guy asks a girl out, he should pay for the
first date no okay but i always offer always because i could never sit back it's it's not
like an expectation i guess it is an expectation if he asked me out i'm happy to let him pay but
i will always offer then i will probably do something like get the round of drinks at the
next bar like i it's never like i expect him to take me out for the whole night but for the dinner
part it's such a turn off if he's asked me out we get to the dinner and he's like should we split
it do you know what I'm sorry but my my pants are on and I'm out the door and I am dry yeah
okay I have a little bit of an issue with this and maybe this is where things get a bit
sort of conflicting for guys and confusing so I and don't get me wrong I'm not all like rah rah
rah equality we need to like pay equal and everything needs to be same same that's not
I understand that there is real chivalry in a guy offering to pay the thing with me is though
if I've gone on a date with a guy, which obviously I haven't done in a while, but when I did, if it
was a guy who I obviously hadn't met him before, we sat down and I knew pretty much straight away,
no, this is not going to go anywhere. Like I'm not actually interested in him. It makes me crazy
uncomfortable that he then is paying for everything because I feel like there's this, then some
expectation that we're going to see each other again. So it makes me feel way more comfortable
to go in there and say hey I'm quite happy to pay for my half you pay for your half and it's a done
deal if it's a guy who I really like and he's like no no I'll get it then I'm like yeah baby you get
it because I'm going to get the next one because I'm going to be seeing you again but I really like
to have this air of independence from the person if I don't if I'm not attracted to them or if I
don't think it's vibing or it's not going for a date number two I guess what if you don't know
that early on if you're going to see them again well then you're probably vibing for date number
two like if you're like well it's a possibility then I don't really mind if they pay but if I
know flat out like old rub himself on me hardballs guy he wanted to pay and I was like no I don't
want anything from you ever keep your everything in your wallet and your pants you should have let
him no if someone would if someone has been that much of a jerk to me I'm like the least you could
do buy me dinner actually that's true I should have made him pay for it but I guess it also
comes from me being quite an independent person and I know you are too but I'm very and who have
always been very financially independent and I don't like taking things from other people in
in any aspect so I think that that's probably more reflective of of my personality that I'm like no
no I'm there as much of an equal in this as you are and I don't need you to pay for me but I know
that a lot of girls still have the expectation that if a guy asks you on a date then a guy pays
for it because it's polite. It's one thing for them to ask you out and say, hey, I'll let him
pay for my dinner on the first date, but it will be equal. I will go and get the dessert. I'll go
and get the wine. I'll get the second dinner. I'm pretty fair like that, but I have had enough
friends and I've asked enough male friends and I did the research for this today. I asked heaps
of my male friends what their expectations were. A lot of them actually said they don't like when
a girl fights them to pay the bill. They would rather, listen up ladies, because I've done the
research. The men that I asked, 95% of them said that they want you to offer. They say, hey, I'm
going to get this. So you should offer just once. Hey, no, let's split it. He'll say, no, it's on
me. And then don't fight him on it. Because the men were saying it's a turnoff when a girl keeps
pushing to pay. Yeah, that's me. Isn't that interesting? Like just do it once and then
just accept it but this is a deal breaker for you like if a guy doesn't pay and makes you well I
guess is he making you pay for the whole thing or is he making you pay for your half so if you have
to pay for your half you're like nah don't want to see him again if I have to pay for half that's
fine it leaves a little bit of a funny taste in my mouth like I'm like oh okay like you might not
be that interested but it's not a deal breaker but if he asked me out and then I paid I'd be like
later champ i did go on one date actually in like on this sort of topic i went on a one date and i
didn't like the guy at all it was a tinder date and he ordered three negronis which look he was
blind by three negronis three negronis is straight alcohol like 20 25 bucks a pop at this bar we were
at and i had had one glass of wine and a juice and then he was like oh i'll get this and i was
like oh no I'll pay meaning I'll pay for myself and he was like thanks and I paid for all of it
I do think that like it is very polite and it's very chivalrous for a guy to offer and I can
understand why it's kind of there as a deal breaker on girls radar but for me it's not that
is not like I'm not going to rule a guy out for it unless you're just running gronies my girlfriend
last week was asked on a date and he was an he asked her on the date he was an hour late she
was at the bar by herself for an hour and then she had to pay an hour late why the hell did she wait
an hour no because it was a second date so she was like oh benefit of the doubt blah blah like
was he messaging to explain that like his cat had died or something why the hell was he an hour late
there was no reason no that's not cool especially in this day and age when we have google maps and
everything runs to pretty much clockwork there's no reason to be an hour late for anything that's
just like, hey, I'm sorry I was late. I didn't really want to come. What else is the explanation
for that? There's not. So I thought in this, it might be interesting because it's easy for us to
sit here and talk about what a deal breaker is for us and date etiquette on our behalf. But I thought
that's not going to help. The majority of our listeners are female. They need to know what to
do and what not to do on a date with a man from a man's perspective. So who have you been asking
for help on this? I went to a few different people. I went to an athlete that I know. I went
to somebody in the medical field i went to um some lifelong friends an actor i really put my
feelers out i like that you went for diversity in this as well you were like i am not going to
pigeonhole this question i want some broad and diverse answers from many different types of men
and ages i went from 20 to 60 sure and you want to know what the interesting thing is
what do you think their number one deal breaker was not looking like your profile pictures on
tinder oh that's actually a really good one but i didn't even get that that's like always was my
biggest fear because i was like yeah i look hot in those photos and then i would rock up and i
was like whoa hopefully i kind of look semi hot it's my biggest fear too i'm like what if they
don't recognize me because you only put your best photos no that's why you shouldn't put your best
photos on you should put like your second best photos on and your really really good ones just
keep them for like your facebook profile and stuff and if he stalks you on instagram but like
you want to kind of like surprise and delight right not disappoint i might show you my um
raya profile and you can tell me what you think okay i can't wait do you want to see the main
photo right now and quickly tell everyone if it's too much ready i'm gonna open it that's my main
one did i go too good too soon like that's my best photo holy wow i'd have sex with you because
that is literally like my best photo okay i just want to describe this photo to you guys britney
is has like she's at the beach it's a very professional photo she has her hair swept
across half her face she's wistfully looking off into the distance she has hint of cleavage on one
side hand on boob she's wearing swimmer bottoms and everything is flawless I'm gonna say that
you look absolutely smoking in this and you look absolutely smoking 99.9% of the time but this is
like this you you're a superstar you're a movie star so you think that you're a Victoria's Secret
model my point is you you reckon someone shouldn't put their best photo on their dating so i reckon
don't catfish because you don't want to go on a date and and for the guy to think oh yeah like
yeah you look like a version of you but you are not as hot as your pictures think that maybe that's
what a guy would think i'm trying to think with men are gross men are so visually like that's how
they respond to things so this is i'm trying to think with a man's lens right now okay so do you
want to know what it actually is, I'm going to tell you. Well, it's not necessarily the deal
breaker, but it's the biggest turnoff on a date. And the biggest turnoff is when a woman just
talks about herself too much. They all said that. Wow. I know. Isn't that interesting?
I totally get that though. I mean, it's so easy to talk about yourself is such an easy fallback
when you're a little bit nervous or when someone's new, because it's a safe space. Obviously,
nobody knows yourself as well as you know yourself. So that topic is just such a safe
area to fall into but I guess the important thing is to kind of check yourself on a date and make
sure that you're asking those questions back because someone might be feeding that conversation
saying oh what do you do for a job and like what's your relationship with with this person and how do
you know this and and they're asking you all these introspective questions about yourself
and you're not asking any of them back so how one-sided is that conversation so this really
surprised me the fact that so many men said it a lot of women must talk about themselves a lot
but I also think talking about yourself like you're on a date people probably assume they
want to know about you I think that though there is a difference between talking about yourself
because there's something that's uh interesting or it's going to like be of benefit for that person
to know and it coming across as vanity yeah it's like narcissist yeah maybe that's what it is and
maybe that some men are thinking oh this person's so full of themselves and they're probably not
getting the full picture like girlfriend and I doubt that you are full of yourself if you're
there talking about yourself on a date it probably is just a safe space for conversation but maybe
yeah check yourself and try and think about asking more questions or trying to talk about topics or
things that have been happening in the news or just stuff that's happening around you not necessarily
so much about what's happening to you and also I guess you could think of it maybe your whatever
you're talking about when you're talking about yourself because you will wrap it up with and
what about you? Like, have you ever been in that position? Or what about you? Have you ever done
anything like that? Like just throw it back onto him. So answer the question, talk about yourself
for sure, but show an interest, I think. But I think that works both ways as well. Like I,
anytime I've been on a date and a person has asked me lots of questions about myself and like
given me the opportunity to open up and talk about myself, you then feel more connected because
you've been given the opportunity to talk about what's important in your life. And so I think for
girls they probably who in this situation would probably walk away from that date thinking that
was a great date and the guy's sitting there going oh my god she didn't ask me one thing about me she
has no idea who i am but i know everything about her dog yeah fully okay so give me another deal
breaker uh from the men's point of view yeah okay a lot of men actually said uh women that come in
too strong too soon with an opinion in terms of they specifically said politics that was their
one so i i want to know what girls going in with the politics talk in the first 10 minutes do you
know no i reckon this is like men being like oh i hate it when women get all feminist on stuff
and that's just i don't know if i agree with this because i think that strong men and men who are
like well informed or could match that woman's intelligence probably feel like not threatened
by it but a man who can't match that conversation or can't match that argument would feel threatened
and therefore they're like oh i don't like a person who has strong opinions because i can't
hold up my side of the argument i kind of am gonna call bullshit on that one a little bit okay fair
in reverse i wouldn't want to sit down on a date with a man and he starts vomiting his political
opinion to me i'd be like boring no but how did you get onto that topic in the first place right
and you know what maybe that person is really into politics and that's the relationship they
want they want to talk to someone about things that's happening in the world at the moment
and if that guy can't match that conversation then it's not going to work anyway so probably
good to get it over with in the first place exactly i'm going to say like as much as that
might be a deal breaker that's a good deal breaker oh yeah i'll go through a few more and i want you
to just tell me if you what you think of them we have one being underdressed so when you turn up
for a date and they are like severely underdressed maybe they haven't told you what level of date it
is i have been on a date before and her guy has rocked up not wearing any shoes it was in bondi
and he rocked up wearing ripped jeans rolled up pants so you could see his ankles and no
shoes and i was like pal it wasn't like we're going to the beach we're going to like the like
one of the bars what's called milky lane or milky whatever it is you need shoes yeah you need to
wear shoes what the hell like i know they're wearing bondi but this is just next level anyway
so that was my deal breaker are you a hipster are you homeless I don't know I can't tell it's
one of life's many questions last week when I went on this date he picked me up and I walked
out the front and I was casual but cute and he opened the door and said oh oh you look nice
I'm underdressed and I felt it straight away I was like oh my god this is awkward he had like
almost pajama pants he's like oh you're um this is what he said quote he goes oh you look really
nice. I don't even have undies on. Just getting ready. He was just preparing you for later on.
And I like the most people say that on a date, like a sexy thing. Like I'm not even wearing any
panties. I'm not wearing any undies. I don't know. I think that being dressed appropriately
is definitely important. Is it a deal breaker on a first date? No shoes. That was a deal breaker
for me. You guys need to confirm what you're doing, where you're going. And that was our
problem. We didn't, he just said, I'll grab you for dinner. And he thought, oh, we'll just,
I thought we're gonna get fish and chips and I thought oh I thought we were going to a restaurant
so I think communication when you're going on a date throw a message out there saying hey just
confirm are we going to sit on the street like you and wear no shoes and like throw chips at
the seagulls or are we going to aria for a five course meal because they're very different so I
have a big question for you Brett and I know that this is something that we've all done probably or
we've all thought about when we're on a date what are your thoughts on sex on a first date oh I was
just getting really anxious then I'm like what's she gonna ask me some like weird sex move or
something how do you feel about anal yeah you're right we're steaming ahead um sex on the first
date this is another controversial one isn't it I was gonna say steaming is probably not the word
you want to use when talking about anal I don't even know why that is ill but I feel like it is
is that a thing no just like do you steam your anus what are you talking about steaming turd
i i okay hands down laura my brain did not even go there you weirdo you're such a sicko
that'll probably get edited out anyway so how do you feel about sex on a first date
sex on a first date i think i will say i have had sex on a first date i have made guys wait
three months i have had waited till the five date i've done like i've done everything i think it
depends on where you are at your point in your life um depends on the guy as well depends on the
guy but i actually don't really to be honest don't think you should have sex on the first date
for me it depends on what you're expecting out of the date i think before going into it set your
expectations if you're like i really want to get laid then probably don't make the guy pay for
three dinners before you do it. So fine to have sex on a first date in that instance. But if you
actually think you might really like a guy or you can see there being some sort of connection
or some sort of future relationship, there is no issue in waiting there. Like that is only going
to be good for you. Waiting, waiting is never going to be a bad choice. Yeah. I think it really
does come down to your intentions and what you want from it. Everyone says that like, if you
have sex on the first date, then it means the guy's not going to call you back. Well, I kind
of agree. I do think that some guys are quite one dimensional. I'm like, I mean, not to shit on all
men, but some men are very much, they love a chase and a chase is very important in them feeling like
they have been able to like win a girl over. And so sometimes I think that if you do have sex too
soon in a relationship, you take that, that chase out of it. And I mean, it works both ways. Chicks
like a chase too i don't want to go on a date with a guy who's just like love me straight away
and i also think that men and women we respond to sex so differently so for men it's it's definitely
more dopamine driven so it's more like the feel-good drug where you know you do something
and it makes you happy that's men primal yeah it's like they have sex of course they enjoy it
but they it's the enjoyment of feeling good whereas we have sex and not only do we get
dopamine we also get a massive surge of oxytocin after having sex so oxytocin is the love drug
and oxytocin is also the hormone that brings on labor so it is a hormone that makes you feel
super connected and it's literally what makes you feel like you're in love with someone it's really
difficult as a woman to extract sex from feelings because things fundamentally change biologically
inside us once we've had sex we are building connections for that person from that physical
action so I think that you have to kind of really prepare yourself mentally for the fact that your
feelings might change after having sex because I know that I have been in a situation before
where I'm like I do not really like this guy but we have amazing chemistry and I want to have sex
with him and then we do and then afterwards I'm like maybe I really like him why doesn't he want
to date me maybe he's my soulmate and I didn't think that three days prior nothing has changed
um the other thing is I think this happens a lot and I have been in this position before
I love it when a guy's really honest with you I'm not looking for anything great be honest but the
number of women that are like cool I'm down with that but low-key they're like I'm gonna be the
one that changes you I listen to a guy say that and I'm like this is a personal challenge accepted
me too i'm like you will love me in 7.7 days it's isn't it crazy though and a guy might say to you
exactly that i am not looking for anything serious and we will still convince ourselves
that we will be that exception why why do we do this i have had chats with friends and that has
happened the guy's been like um just so you know like i'm certainly not looking anything this is
casual and yeah cool cool cool and in six weeks time they've been sleeping together whatever
two months time and she's crying. She's like, he's just treating me so badly. Like he cancels on me
and he says he doesn't want anything. And I'm like, to be fair, he's never pretended to do
anything else. Like he's always told you what it was down the line. And if you're, if you were
happy from that, then that's, that's what it's going to be. The guy is saying to you that he
doesn't want anything serious and you have strong feelings for him. Definitely do not have sex with
him because that will absolutely screw you up so bad. Like that is when you will get your heart
broken. And yes, some guys do change their mind and some guys do come around. And I'm not saying
that that never happens, but I don't think that having sex is in any way going to benefit that
situation. I think if anything, you're just going to get further down the relationship,
but his opinions and his feelings aren't going to change, but yours will dramatically.
I actually got myself into a situation where I dated a guy for an entire year who I, at the start,
I was like, oh, we're just having fun. It doesn't mean anything. And then I had the conversation
with him when my feelings started to change. And I was like, no, you know what? I want a
relationship. You don't, we need to end this. And for some reason it continued for a whole year,
a whole year. I thought a whole year, I thought he was going to change his mind because we did
everything we were like a full-on couple we were dating we'd go out for dinners we were having sex
we did everything that a couple does we were exclusive no we weren't seeing anyone else
but he would never call me his girlfriend and he would say oh I'm not ready to have a girlfriend
my career is too important to me and I was like but you treat me like a girlfriend I am kind of
your girlfriend right definitely exclusive on like I mean you were but was he definitely said
he was exclusive so I can only take his word for it well then the only reason he would do that is
that freedom. He wants the freedom of not having the responsibility if he does decide to do
something. Totally. He was just waiting for something better to come along. Like he knew
that I wasn't a perfect match for him. And that was his way of being like, I'm not, I'm just not
that into you, but I want to keep you around because we have a good time together. But I was
so desperate to try and change his mind and change his opinion. And I really did take it on as a
personal challenge. And there were quite a few times where I sort of said, you know, no, I don't
want to do this anymore because I want to be in a relationship with you and you obviously don't
want to be with me and I'm starting to, you know, feel really inadequate in this. Nothing changed
a whole year. What an idiot, Laura. Guys, learn from my mistakes. Also the old reverse psychology
thing. I can't do this anymore because I love you and you don't love me. And they're like, cool,
bye. You're like, what? Oh, wait, that didn't work. That's not what I meant. Come back. I still love
I'm still walking away this time.
I'm slowing down.
Literally.
I'm gone.
I'm done.
And then I would just slide into his DMs like a week later and be like, so, Messina?
Oh, my gosh.
Okay.
We've gotten off topic.
What was I saying?
So, sex on the first date, I think ultimately you do what you want.
I think as adults, and I think it's the older you get, the easier it is.
If you want to go and do it, if you have that attraction and you've had a great time, go
for it but know that there is um this underlying thought process from a man's point of view and
i'm only saying this because i asked the men today that once you sleep together it loses a
bit of mystery and that was the quote that this guy said today he said look it loses mystery
and the chase is over and part of them thinks what if she's just doing this with everyone which
we all know you're probably not this is exactly what matt has said to me before and we have had
this conversation so many times i don't even know why oh because okay we've had this conversation
because obviously we had to wait a really long time to have sex because we were dating on the
show because you fell in love on reality tv and there was like three and a half months in there
where we were dating and it's not like the american series where you sleep together you do not have
any contact no no so anyone who thinks that maybe there's a potential that anything sexual happens
on the show nothing sexual happens on batch at all uh except if you're on batch in paradise that's a
whole nother story but Matt and I have spoken about it and his opinion is that there is there's
this mystery that completely is taken away and guys like they like a chase they like to feel
like they've had some conquest in this on that there's a little bit of something to work towards
so I think that if you do give it up too early then yes maybe and this was another thing he said
yes maybe they will that you'll go on a second date or a third date or a fourth date but you
may not convert that guy to a boyfriend. The conversion rate is lower is what I'm saying.
And it's all about your conversion rate, girlfriend.
My conversion rate is so low.
Maybe you're having a lot of sex on first dates, Brittany.
I'm absolutely not. I can actually say that. I am not a first date sexer.
No. And I think if I like you enough to have sex with you, you're going to take me on a second date.
That's it.
Perfect.
Okay. So I have a question for you, Laura.
Yes, Brittany.
i want to know your thoughts on ghosting i mean it's a dick move right if you just
ignore someone's existence after having some connection with them where you guys have
exchanged more than just a trivial date then i think it's a pretty dick move i do think that
sometimes we get a little bit too hung up on it though if you've gone on one date with someone
and then you've never heard from them again i don't think that that's enough time for you to
really be overly upset by it like yes maybe it was a great date maybe you guys really connected
maybe you don't understand why you never heard from him again but the reality is is that you
have no idea what's going on that person's life he could have a girlfriend he could be going
through a divorce he could have been a girlfriend after you went on a date with him yeah he could
be cheating on her he could have been hit by a car the guy probably dropped dead you don't know
what happened so you can't be upset if one date didn't work out because you thought it was a
great date i think ghosting after one date is kind of fine i don't think you owe anyone but i do think
ghosting after a relationship is really shit form one funny thing that just i want to say then is
it's funny that um the thought process you go through when you haven't heard from someone you're
like well obviously their nan died because there's no other reason that they haven't texted me like
you make up this big thing in your head but i'm gonna start calling the local hospitals because
clearly he must be there westmead hello this is britney it is no you're laura i'm not the psycho
it is Brittany and I am Jason's wife and I've not heard from him yes we've been on one date
in terms of what you said in ghosting if you guys go on a date and then neither of you text each
other that's not ghosting because no one's texted so that's fine but I mean you go on a date and
just say you text him the next day hey had a great time like we should see each other again
and then he never writes back a that's ghosting and b i think that's a dick move but don't you
think sometimes no reply is a reply yeah it is but it's still shit because you as a person want
to know you just you just don't want to think about it is he going to text me should i check
his instagram oh he's out you don't want to think that stuff i would rather someone say
and i actually mean this i would rather if i messaged someone and said had a great time last
night do you want to see each other again i would rather hear you right back and said had a great
time too i just didn't really feel anything i'd be like oh cool thanks for being honest and then
that's done totally it's like a little closure you know i'm not disagreeing with you i definitely
think that that is nicer like that is the nicer thing to do but there are some dickheads out there
who aren't very nice what i'm saying is i don't think that we need to get so hung up on it if it
happens after one date i don't think it's that big a deal i don't think that you can hate the guy or
put him into like a you know a fuck boy box or call him names or whatever like it's one date if
you didn't even kiss or nothing really happened i don't really think he owes you anything it's a
very different story if you've gone out on multiple dates it's a very different like i know of one girl
who dated a guy for a year and then the way that he broke up with her was to just never text her
again see that is so messed up what is that how could you have to have enough respect for someone
after a year surely well look i mean people do crazy things every day that is just one example
of when ghosting is so fucked up I don't even have words for it but have you ghosted yes so
your thoughts on a guy messages you had a great time and you're not interested are you just like
pretend that never happened beep sorry call cannot be connected right now I'm just going through a
tunnel I've been really busy for four years I definitely was a bit of a jerk in my younger
life I think like in my early I think we all go through that right when you're still no when you're
perfect i've never i've never been a jerk i can say that i think when i was in my younger years
uh i was a little bit selfish um i didn't really i guess i i was probably being treated and had
been treated badly in some relationships and so i was treating other people the way i had been
treated which i now in you know now with the grace of having some time behind me and some
self-reflection i would never ever do that again to anyone and i also would never accept that sort
of treatment back which I had accepted in the past so I'm just a different person now but yeah
I ghosted some guys sure I'm pretty sure I did I can't bring you any stories but I only ghosted
guys during a period where I was dating a lot and I was very non-committal and so if I didn't have
a deep connection instead of I guess I didn't give them the benefit of the doubt of being like
hey look I'm not interested I found that a really uncomfortable text message to send and so I just
kind of didn't send anything so it is really uncomfortable but once you start doing it and
once you once you've had it done to you you actually appreciate it and you realize it's
not hurtful to have someone message you after a date and say oh i didn't feel it like but thank
you you're not going to lose any sleep over it i guarantee it you'll be like oh thanks for telling
me that because now i don't ever have to think about you again it wraps it up in like a nice
little package and in a bow and you can be like cool well that one's done close the book but you
know what's even worse when someone ghosts you for quite a period of time or like you just don't
really hear from them they might like you get like little drips and drabs of messages but you
clearly it's going nowhere and comes back from the dead yes like fucking resurrected oh there you are
i like or like it's your birthday or it's christmas or something and out of nowhere they're
like hey how's it been like merry christmas or like just no no don't text me or they know you've
got a boyfriend because you're on your instagram with a new guy doing something and they're like
oh she looks happy how about i put my cause in there and fuck her up again yeah like that is
what's worse i think ghost if you're gonna ghost then you need to stay dead you can't ghost and
come back r.i.p stay under the ground that is okay that's my rule on ghosting now stay dead
stay dead guys no because what if they could be the one and they just had a tough time
no britney's don't listen to her advice she's single guys forever the optimist
so i do have one more and this is this is something i actually feel really passionate
about because i used to do this all the time on dates and i think that this is massively
it's a massive roadblock for some people actually meeting someone who is the one and and someone who
they could have a happy and long-term relationship with ladies, ladies, listen to me seriousness of
this. I'm sorry. I I'm really passionate about this, Brittany. Okay. If you have been through
a breakup, that was really shit. And you feel like you lost the love of your life and you know
what? You're over the breakup. You're ready to get into dating, but you still feel that your ex was
someone who was just incredible, profoundly incredible. How are you ever going to meet
anyone like him again. Do not go on a date with a guy and straight after that date, think to
yourself, oh, but I'm never going to feel as much for this guy as I did for my ex. Stop comparing
all of your new dates to your ex because it's so unfair and it's so unrealistic for you to think
that in one, two, three, four, even five dates that you're going to have the level of intensity
of feelings that you had for your ex who maybe you were with for six months, a year, two years,
eight years whatever to try and compare the two it's so it's it's it's unrealistic you're never
ever going to be able to meet someone who you who bowls you over in the same way because you're not
remembering your relationship from that one first date you had at the very beginning you're
remembering your relationship in its entirety and for the feelings that you had after spending a
long time with that person and someone on a first date is never ever it's ever going to match up
it's so unfair to that person and it's unfair to yourself that is my laura oprah opinion for you
all well you know what they say laura oprah what comparison is the thief of joy one yes
that's what they say it really is
we're turning into the same person guys it's disgusting brain um but it is and i wholeheartedly
agree with what you say we've all been there before i've had some people writing to ask uncut
that have said the same thing like I'm going on dates but they don't seem to compare to my ex what
am I going to do you're not going to do anything stop comparing them to your ex I have a friend
who is married to the love of her life and he's a legend and I love her and I was looking back
through our text messages from like way back and when she started dating this guy she'd said I
don't think I'm ever going to feel the way I felt about my ex about this guy guys they're married
now like they love each other so much and I know that when she reflects on that she's like I was
such an idiot, but it's just, you are robbing yourself of a great relationship by, by constantly
comparing because things take time. Feelings do change. And I promise you the guy that you say
to yourself are like, I'm always going to have feelings for him. I'm always still going to think
of him at some point in the future. You won't, you absolutely won't. You will 100% one day meet
somebody who all of the feelings that you've ever felt for your ex are going to be completely wiped
clean. Well, to contradict you a little bit, I think there'll always be that feeling for your
first love. You won't keep comparing them, but you won't ever forget your first love. But that
doesn't mean you're like, oh, I wish I was with my first love. I just think that's the one that
stays with you. Oh my God. Speaking of first loves, I went for dinner at the corner house
with Matt and one of Matt's friends recently. And we were sat on the table next to my first
boyfriend who i lost my virginity to and his wife oh my god and i was like hey how are you doing we
don't talk to each other anymore he's a legend of a guy but but um his wife went over and said
something to me because i had marley next to me and marley was crying i couldn't hear her and
his wife went over and was like oh you're um your daughter's crying she's just woken up
i was like pat had a few wines by then guys remember not breastfeeding anymore so i was like
oh, thanks. Like, I know your husband. And she's like, yeah, I know.
He took my virginity. He used a glass of wine on me.
Oh God, just, I need to get out of this situation. It was awful. Anyway, that's pretty funny.
But no, I genuinely think that yes, of course you have memories of them, but you 100% will
meet someone one day and all those other relationships will feel quite insignificant
in comparison to it. I used to think about my ex, and this is the reason why I say this. I
used to think that I was never going to be able to love anyone as much as I loved him and now that
I'm in a relationship where we're getting married and I've got a baby I can't even believe I ever
thought that because this relationship it exceeds everything of that one everything in so many
different ways because we've shared so much more life together and and I just think you know don't
don't cut yourself off from having a great relationship with someone because you're caught
in the past of your past relationship yeah don't be in the past past past pasta it is getting to
that time it's literally oh no it's only 5 30 i could have dinner now i'm i got a better eight
o'clock now babe well i reckon i've covered a lot of bases in that in date etiquette what do you
reckon i'm i'm pretty good do you have anything else you need to throw into the arena before we
wrap up dating i could literally go oh my god i haven't told you the funniest thing continue so
this guy that i went on two dates with last week i really liked him he's still around a little bit
but um after the first date before the second date we were texting i was in bed having a power nap
because um i've been working really late and it was like three o'clock or something and my sister
sherry and i always do this thing where we take photos of ourselves like we take really ugly
photos of ourselves at the time and send it and we make a joke like why i'm a single but it's like
double chin no makeup fit on our face you know like the stuff the stuff that you send to your
girlfriends totally we do it all the time anyway i'm late in bed and i have this i i've got no
makeup on um terrible lighting i've been in bed i've just woken up crease on my face eye mask on
my forehead um you did not look anything like your raya profile i look so far from my raya profile
anyway i'm texting this guy and i've only met him once and i like him so picture that this one guy
you've had a great date with and you and you're just really fresh and when you're trying to impress
them at the same time as I'm texting him my sister messages me what are you doing so I took a selfie
gross to send to her press send and it was like sent to Billy that's what I said and I almost
died you know when it's you know when it's press send and you're like what the fuck I can't undo
this right now and I just looked at it and I'm like I just want to die and it was the ugliest
photo and I was like oh my god what do I do with this I was like how do I save this so I pretend
you change your name on Facebook I'm moving to change your identity and you you're done that's
it it was nice knowing you Bruni okay I've learned what to do since then apparently if you're super
quick because I nearly died telling my friend about this she's like oh my god all you have to
do is before the message is delivered swipe down and put airplane mode on and it stops the delivery
wait so you did send it to him he did receive it oh no he received it what did he say okay so i
died and i had two minutes to think because we're talking about what time to meet and then all of a
sudden i send him the ugliest grossest okay it's i want to call a new section accidentally unfiltered
that's our new section accidentally unfiltered and it's when surely there are other girls that
have done this in their life please tell me i send it to him and i'm like okay i need to be
confident in what i have done and pretend i meant to so i said so i wrote to him straight away it's
okay to admit to admit defeat britney no i didn't i just want to admit defeat he doesn't know he'll
probably listen to this and laugh because he'll figure it out i wrote to him straight away and i
said you sure you want to see this tonight like i just he was like not really unsubscribe listen
to his response i was like oh my god i just said that i said you sure you want to see this tonight
Let me know what time.
His response was brilliant.
He wrote back and said, I can't wait to kiss that boy's face.
I like him.
So that was my mishap of the week.
Oh, my God.
That is brilliant.
That is absolutely brilliant.
I like this guy.
It was one of my finer moments.
He was meat raffle guy.
The saga continues.
Yes.
If anyone has done this, write in to us and just let us know
if you have ever accidentally unfiltered yourself.
So I did do an unfiltered thing.
This is going back so many years ago.
I was really young.
Like this is many years ago.
I was sitting on the toilet at the time.
It's not imperative to the story at all.
Oh, I wish you did a toilet selfie.
But I was sitting on the toilet getting text messages
and my best mate at the time was a guy named Steve.
and uh and we like we were super close we were best friends and he sent me a text message which
was like i actually have feelings for you i don't really want to just be friends i want this to be
more and i'm hoping that you feel the same and i'd really like to take you out on a date and i wrote
to my other best friend and wrote what the fuck why would steve think i would ever date him oh my
god you did not and you sent it to steve and i sent it to steve laura my heart is breaking yeah
but you know what he didn't give me any pre-warning i felt robbed i that was a face-to-face conversation
for starters but you know you would have had that feeling too when you press send and you were like
oh my god oh my god i literally was like i had to i had to own it there was no way of making a joke
i wasn't like hey jokes and then i dated him for four years and now i've married him his name's
I was like, the only way I could get out of it was by pretending I meant to.
So what did you say?
No, I just was like, look, that was really mean.
And I feel terrible, but you really caught me by surprise.
Clearly you don't want to date me because I'm a horrible person.
And we should probably just be friends forever.
And we're not friends anymore.
So that didn't turn out very well.
We were really young.
He's married, got lots of kids now.
You didn't stay friends after that?
Yeah, we stayed friends for a while.
But you can't stay friends with someone when you know that they have feelings for you and you don't.
because the the friendship is so uneven so it changed the dynamic of our friendship forever
it does once you realize that one of you has feelings the other doesn't once you realize that
i was a bitch oh you know like ladies think it through tell us your accidentally unfiltered
stories hopefully they're not as bad as ours but they're so funny so to finish off talking about
dating etiquette and our like shitty dating stories brit had put up on her instagram stories
asking you guys to tell her sort of like what were some of the worst things that have been said to
you on first dates and brit has them here on her phone and they're so good they're so good guys
i'm so glad that we're all in this together and god guys can be such assholes this girl says
he described me as a mexican beach with mosquitoes on it and that was a compliment
What if it is a Mexican beach with mosquitoes on it?
Like hot and itchy?
And this chick, they were driving in the car and he said,
fuck dolphins and threw rubbish out his window.
What?
He did what?
What did he do?
He threw rubbish out his window.
He said, fuck dolphins and threw rubbish out the window.
I wonder what has happened in that moment on that day to think saying,
fuck dolphins and throwing rubbish out a window is in any way going to go down well with anyone.
So this other girl has written in, she was on a date with a guy and they're at a sushi
trade and he wrote, don't you think seven plates of sushi is a bit much?
No, it's not too much.
Oh my gosh.
Another person has just written in, you're a lot chubbier with more rolls than I thought.
Who are these men?
Another guy said, this isn't a date.
Are there any other ones there that are worth, like I have honestly laughed at these for
an hour.
there's so many i feel like this is a good one to wrap it up with all stis go away with just one
pill that's also incorrect kids so if a guy says that to you maybe leave and don't have sex with
well here we are last section of the podcast and it's my fave
Suckin' sweet.
Laura, have you thought about it this week?
Yes.
You so haven't.
I saw it.
No, I can do this.
I have a highlight and a lowlight.
I'm sure I can think of something.
Wait, it's the high-lowlight that comes first.
Yeah, the suck.
I have a pimple on my forehead that is like a cyclops.
I'm not even joking.
I look like I have a third eye.
I can tell your fortune and look into the future with this thing.
I didn't want to say anything, but I don't know where to look.
It's been staring at you this whole time.
Have you seen my eyes like dart up?
I'm like, it's you.
She told me on the phone, right?
She's like, hey, I've got this pimple on my head.
I'm like, I bet you don't.
And I get there and I'm like, oh, no, you do.
You know when your friends are usually like, oh, it's not that bad.
Bridget hasn't said anything.
It's like, it's an island.
I know that global warming is happening.
I'm growing this so that the rest of the population have somewhere to live.
I love that you said I haven't said anything.
Like, what did you think I was going to do walking in?
Like, hey, oh, my God, what is on your face?
That's a huge bitch.
Hey, what are you naming that pet pimple you got there?
Does it have it on postcode?
It's named Fred.
We hang out now.
You know you're going to have to put the pimple on Instagram.
Do you want me to do it right now?
Take a photo.
All right, I'm going to put this on for tomorrow.
Oh, no, I've got no battery on my phone here.
Oh, lucky I do.
I hate you.
Yeah, there you go.
All right, Britt's taking a photo of me.
We can put this.
Whoa, holy shit, it's really.
I mean, at least get good light.
All right, guys, so we're going to put my pimple on Instagram tomorrow.
You can all see it whilst you're listening to this podcast.
You are very welcome.
This shit I do for you.
So my highlight for this week, which is actually my highlight, which was the week.
So my highlight for this week is that I just spent a week in Bali, as we talked about,
and I'm not breastfeeding anymore, which was a weird transition.
Congratulations.
Is that what you say?
I don't know.
It's kind of this really bittersweet thing.
I did think that I wanted to breastfeed for longer.
I really thought that that was something that I would do until she was at least one.
But I transitioned Marley onto the bottle so that we were giving her like part bottle,
part boob.
And she has just decided that she does not want my boobs anymore.
She's like, get that saggy thing away from me.
Even that's the same.
Get that saggy thing.
Solids only.
I think it's easier for her and she doesn't have to work as hard with the bottle because
the bottle, the milk just kind of comes out.
Whereas like they have to put a bit more effort in to get the milk out of you.
And so I think that she is over it.
So every time I try and, or every time I would try and feed her boob, she would just bite
me or slap it away.
And that makes you feel really insignificant.
Like it's, I'm, I'm done.
So I, I, I threw in the towel.
Well, I feel like she's, she's come to that decision on her own.
Is that like sort of what happens?
The natural progression.
Also, if I had persevered a little bit more, I'm sure that I could have kept her on the
boob, but you know what?
She's happy.
I'm happy.
Maybe I feel like I have a little bit of my independence back.
Well, not my independence.
I feel like I have my body back.
And like freedom maybe.
I used to, I feel a little bit like myself again, except for my pimple.
You know, that's now taken over my life.
I love that.
Yeah, that was my highlight.
Yeah.
Bali, work, doing some stuff for me and finishing breastfeeding.
And so it was a pretty good week if your low light was your pimple.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a pretty solid week.
Man, have you seen this pimple?
I'm steering you.
It's actually not that bad.
Shut up.
A bit of concealer.
It's got concealer on it, Brittany.
Give me your low light and your highlight.
So my suck of the week, it would have to be sending the selfie to the guy accidentally,
just like that feeling.
But then I found it so hysterical.
I really did.
I reckon it's a highlight.
It's the highlight of my week.
Well, it turned into a highlight when he was like still stoked.
I was like, well, you just saw me at my worst.
That's actually perfect.
Maybe you need to, when you match with someone on Rayart, then send them that photo and be
like, I'm somewhere in between.
No, I think I have to say my highlight, cause it probably will never, it will definitely
never happen again.
Not probably.
My highlight has to be being bought on a date, like being auctioned off on a date, raising
money for charity, um, being, you know, going on a date with a really nice guy from it.
I feel like that was a, it's a very much a one-off and it was an experience.
It's a really nice thing to be involved in, isn't it?
Do you know what?
I think it's so incredible, this amazing sense of community
that's come out of such a horrific event.
The bushfires have been so horrendous and so traumatic
for so many people, but this incredible sense
of Australians really banding together to try
and do everything that they can possibly do to help
has been really beautiful.
And I don't ever remember a time where it's been
on such a wide scale and it's touched so many people.
And I feel like even though it is so sad,
what is happening in Australia right now and what has happened to so many families. I feel
incredibly proud to be Australian. I feel like you could ask any Australian right now if you
needed help and they would give you the shirt off their back. It's just like, it's not just
affecting one town or one part of the coastline or one state. It's like every Australian is affected
by it in some way. And not just the sense of community in Australia. I like you. I'm so proud
to be Australian it's like overwhelming right now but to see the world come and help absolutely
the whole world and I do think that it's a testament as much as Instagram and Facebook
and all the social media has its you know its negatives it is a huge testament to the positive
community that is being built through social media the power of social media the power of it
like it connects us on a level that we've never been able to connect or to thrive before and
you know like look at Celeste Barber 51 million dollars shout out to Celeste Barber freaking lord
she is that never would have happened without social media because you just wouldn't have the
the viral capacity that people's voices didn't have the possibility to extend and reach and
that's what social media gives us and I think that's incredible I don't know how we took that
tangent from your highlight oh no your highlight of course yeah it was the charity but I yeah like
i said i feel so incredibly proud right now of everything that everyone is doing in order to try
and give a little bit back yeah so big shout out to every single person that has helped in any way
with these bushfires whether that's volunteers firefighters communities getting together
fundraising every single human animal welfare small businesses everyone who has done what they
can to get behind and to really help families fireys and our environment and our country that's
in need it's incredible i also love this and let's just comment on this now because i feel like it is
going to there's almost this sense of like oh the fire's over yet because it's it's this such this
big um overwhelming thing that's happening right now but it's going to go on for months and it's
so far from over and there's been this um new thing sort of trending on social media which is
don't forget to go and visit the towns and feel an esky feel an esky and i think that's really
important that maybe down the track, you guys start to think about planning a holiday to a
little town that has been affected because how are they going to make their money? They thrive
on tourism. Feel your esky, go and buy some things, go and have dinner there, go and stay
at their accommodation. Guys, thank you so much for listening to another episode of Life Uncut.
