Starting point is 00:00:00 A Life Uncut podcast acknowledges the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders, past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. This episode is recorded on Gadigal land of the Aurora Nation. Hi guys and welcome back to another episode of Life Uncut. I'm Laura. I'm Brittany. I'm Mitch. And this is our radio show. It is our Saturday morning radio show where we bundle up all the best bits, all the spicy, juicy, saucy stuff, and we bring it to you every week.
Starting point is 00:00:37 We did have our live show this week. It was an absolutely wild week, and we had so many amazing guests on that show. One of them we brought back into the radio show today, Em Carey, the girl that fell from the sky, because her story is just, it doesn't matter how many times I hear it, it hits hard and deep every single time. She was telling it backstage in the green room of the live show. I had never heard her story. And the things that happened to that girl,
Starting point is 00:01:03 she was with an instructor overseas as well. If it happened in Australia, there'd be some level of comfort, but she was overseas when this happened. Totally, away from her family, away from her friends. We interviewed her, obviously, at the live show, but then we love her story so much, we wanted to get Em onto the radio show this morning. So we have a little snippet from Em.
Starting point is 00:01:20 We're also talking about weddings because we know it's wedding season and obviously I've told you all that I'm getting married in four weeks' time but there's been a few problems that have gone down in the last couple of weeks in terms of my wedding and I also came across a very funny story about a woman who has had a monumental failure when it's come to her cake. And we're going to speak to a clairvoyant.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Now, I love speaking to clairvoyants because I don't know if I believe it or not. I don't believe it. We should all predict it. Do we think she was an actual clairvoyant? Yes, I do. but I still don't know if I believe in the whole idea of a clairvoyant. Okay, well, the idea is, I don't know if you guys have seen,
Starting point is 00:01:56 but there's a new TV show that's coming out this weekend and that is called The Traitors. It's on Channel 10. We had Chloe come in. She's the clairvoyant. She's saying she's not a traitor. We kind of get the feeling that she is, but that and so much more is all coming up on the show now.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Spoiler! It's the Life Uncut radio show around Australia. Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne still buzzing on a high after your first ever live shows in Sydney this week. Well done, ladies. It was so great. It was so much fun. It was wild.
Starting point is 00:02:24 It was wild. You were a bit tipsy, I think, to be honest, Britt. Do you know what? Somebody said to me after, oh, how funny, you were so tipsy. It was funny to see you like that. And I said, Lolcano, that's just me. I'm not tipsy. Sober as a judge.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Well, you actually are. Yes, no. I thought it too. No, I just turned it on. That's just normal Brittany. Do you know, we had some incredible speakers on the night And there was one woman who we spoke to, Em Carey. She is somebody who we've had on the podcast before.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Her story is phenomenal. So Em, basically, I mean, she's the girl who fell from the sky. But what happened to her is she jumped out of an aeroplane with a parachute on and her parachute never opened and she plummeted into the ground. And the whole room, the whole audience, there was 1,200 people in that auditorium and they all, you could just hear the silence.
Starting point is 00:03:11 You could just hear the hush when she was speaking. And we wanted to get her on the radio because her story is just so incredible. She's also just brought out a book, The Girl Who Fell From The Sky. Let's get Em on the phone. Em's here now. Hello, Em. Welcome to the show.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Hello. Thanks for having me. Em, your story is just an extraordinary story of resilience and courage and hope and rebuilding yourself from the lowest of lows. Give us just a quick summary. I mean, we just literally told everyone you fell from the sky, but that moment that you were plummeting and you realised that your parachute wasn't going to open,
Starting point is 00:03:43 what was going through your mind? I was just terrified I thought for sure I was about to die there was no doubt in my mind I mean I didn't think it was possible to survive something like that so I was just terrified and I remember thinking just how much I wanted to live which seems really obvious right but up until that moment I'd just never taken a second to really think about that just how much I still wanted to do and just how much I didn't want to die in that moment and so it really just changed my whole perspective of life after surviving and what was the injuries that you sustained from the fall so when i landed on the ground i tried to get up to go and find help because we were in the middle of nowhere and when i tried to stand up i realized i
Starting point is 00:04:25 was completely paralyzed from the waist down so once i got to hospital they found out that i had a spinal cord injury at l1 and i was now a paraplegic what gets me is you just said you hit the ground and you thought i need to go get help how were you still conscious because i would have thought hitting the free falling from that height in the ground at a minimum you would be you would have been knocked out yeah i know i don't know how i was awake for all of it but i remember the fall and landing and the moment i realized i was paralyzed with perfect clarity which obviously wasn't a great thing to live through and not a great memory to have but i think being awake for it actually really helped me because i have the very vivid memory of how it feels to think i'm
Starting point is 00:05:06 about to die. And so since then, I just try not to waste a single moment because I know how lucky I am and I know how much there is that I still want to do. So in a way that I'm kind of glad that I was awake for it. Em, your story is one of such resilience and strength. And I mean, part of your story is that you did learn to walk again. What was that experience like when you had to go from being in a wheelchair to learning to teach yourself how to walk again? How did that change you as a person? I mean, I constantly just felt so lucky. So I was living in a spinal ward where everyone had a spinal cord injury. Most people were quadriplegic, so couldn't move from the neck down and a lot of people from the waist down. And I'm pretty sure I was the only one who was
Starting point is 00:05:48 getting any kind of movement back. So I just felt so a mix between grateful and guilty because we were all doing the exact same thing. We were all just as determined and positive and resilient as each other yet just by pure chance and the way that my spinal cord was injured it enabled some movement to come back to me I just feel very very lucky well you're an incredible woman if anybody does want to hear more of Em's story you can I mean we did a whole podcast episode with Em on Life Uncut podcast you've also just released your book which is an incredible book it is A Girl That Fell From The Sky that you can get anywhere you get good bookstores and obviously they can find you on Instagram thanks for having me guys thank you so much Em you're amazing thank
Starting point is 00:06:29 you so much for joining us. Oh, my God. No, thank you, guys. No, thank you. No, you hang up. We love you, Em. Em, Kerry, everybody. All right, ladies, there's some things in life that we all sort of struggle with. And as adults, we're all adults. Raise your hand if you're an adult in the studio. Yeah, one, two, three. I'm not questionable. There are some
Starting point is 00:06:45 things that we all struggle with, things that you just can't accomplish as an adult. It could be embarrassing, but we're going to take some calls, and there's something that Brittany Hockley's done that is worrying as a friend of hers. Just one thing? No, the list is long. We'll unpack it next. Ladies, we're all adults in the room, right?
Starting point is 00:07:00 Safe to say. Questionable. Disputable. The age would imply so, but some of the things that go on would suggest otherwise. Like the Life Uncut Live show that we recently had. That was very questionable. I feel like we were very adult-y.
Starting point is 00:07:13 We talked about very adult things like, you know, sex positions. What, Mitch, you're gyrating around on the ground with Matty J having sex positions? That's the most adult thing I've ever done. Matty J's ankles around my ears. Do you know what I thought? We didn't ask you. How were your quads?
Starting point is 00:07:25 Laura and I, you were doing some serious squat bouncing. Wasn't I ever, yeah. Very impressive. That footage will go online somewhere, I'm sure. Porn Hub's probably where it is. That's where it should be. If anyone wants to sign up to Mitch's OnlyFans, we'll give you the details after this.
Starting point is 00:07:36 The only reason I bring it up is because, yes, we're all adults and we all do the show here every weekend and we're in studio and I had an experience with Brittany Huckley that baffled me. I don't know if you've had this experience, Laura, but we all know what a cab charge is, right? To be fair, I don't like using them because I find them quite hard to download from the emails. Yeah, well, no, this was a physical cab charge.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Oh, a real one. Like an old school card, right? It's like a credit card. Yeah, yeah, and the business gave it to us because we had to go to a presentation, a very fancy thing, and I came in one cab, Britt came in the other, and she was like five minutes late, ten minutes late, twenty minutes late, and she said, I'm here.
Starting point is 00:08:08 I go, where could she possibly be? I went, where are you? Are you at the venue? She went, no, I'm here. I'm stuck in the taxi. Well, first of all, hang on. I had a physical cab charge and I had a cab charge in my emails. I had two cab charges.
Starting point is 00:08:21 You could pay for it twice then. Yeah, so firstly, I didn't realise the physical cab charge was a physical cab charge. I thought it was just like a receipt or something. I don't know. I don't know what it was. Okay, I haven't got a lot of taxis. I don't know what it was.
Starting point is 00:08:32 So first of all, I didn't pay. I got out of the taxi. She left without paying. Like an Uber. You know when you order an Uber and it pays online? So I just got out to walk away and he called me. He was like, please pay for this. Yeah, you're doing a runner.
Starting point is 00:08:41 And I was like, oh my God, I'm so sorry. But this is where I walk in because Brittany's ass is hanging out of the taxi and her torso is in. She's leaning into this man. And you could see that it was a kerfuffle. And she's like, is everything okay here? And the man's like, well, no, this woman is trying to do a runner. And I was like, I'm not.
Starting point is 00:08:56 I'm trying to work out how to pay. I said to Mitch, I've got a cab charge. I'm just trying to pay now. I was trying to do it online, right? So I just hand the guy my phone. Locked. Locked. As if he knew her passcode.
Starting point is 00:09:06 And then I didn't understand what happened. And then Mitch, I said, I've got a cab charge. Well, Mitch was like, well, open it up. So I went into my email and I opened the email and I gave him the email. And he's like, what? She's like, I don't need your itinerary. He's like, what are you doing? Then I tried to add it to my wallet.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Mitch is like, press download. I put it in my wallet, still didn't know how to click it open. I was getting really flustered. Britt's like, do you have airdrop? He's like, I'm a taxi driver. What do you mean do I have airdrop? So Mitch like reefed me out by my undies because my butt's still hanging out. Reefed me out, took my phone, dealt with the situation.
Starting point is 00:09:34 And then he had to take me inside, sit me down and teach me how to use a cab charge. And I was like, wow, how have I made 30, 28 years without using a cab charge? And I was like, what are the things that people get into at this point in their life where you really should know how to do it, but you don't. Okay, you say that you couldn't use a cab charge, which makes me want to pick a bone with you because we had the live show this week. Part of keeping track of what was happening on stage,
Starting point is 00:09:59 we had a schedule and a time that we had to kind of follow. I am very bad, very, very bad at reading analogue clocks. It takes me far longer than what it should to look at it, process it and figure out what the time is. I'm all about digital clocks. It's efficient. I can get that straight away. I needed someone to bring us
Starting point is 00:10:16 some sort of time device so that we knew what time it was. They brought out an analogue clock and put it next to the speaker and I was like, sorry guys, I can't read that. And I could see from Brittany Hockley's face that she thought I was an idiot, but at least I know how to use a cab chart. You know what, I didn't think you were an idiot, but
Starting point is 00:10:32 it was just funny, we were going live in like one minute and here's the clock, they're like, here's your time. And Laura's like I'm sorry sir, I can't use this, you're going to have to go and get me a digital clock. And I was like, Laura We've got 20 seconds left We've got a clock It's fine
Starting point is 00:10:44 You don't need it She was like I can't tell that time I can't And I was like Okay I'll tell the time You don't have to have a freak out Within 10 seconds
Starting point is 00:10:51 And you know what It showed Because we were an hour and a half We were an hour and a half late Can I just say I don't think it matters If you're an adult or not There are plenty of things
Starting point is 00:10:57 Plenty of things That you should be able to do As an adult But they're just too hard Forever What do you struggle with Adults out there Give us a call
Starting point is 00:11:04 Maybe you can't pay bills BPAY's hard Maybe you can't cook Or even drive My partner can't drive Maybe you can't put a fitted sheet on a bed by yourself. I bloody hate that one too. That's universal.
Starting point is 00:11:13 No one can do that. Of course, 131065 will get you on the air at the Lifeline Cup radio show next. Talking, adulting that you can't do. The really hard hitting things. Often for us it's talking, which is a real shame since it's our job. We're paid to talk and we struggle sometimes. Sometimes we just stare at each other and the mics are on and we just go, who's going to speak? Yeah, but I thought that was the intimacy challenge.
Starting point is 00:11:33 I didn't know we were doing that. We've got Carly on 131065. What can't you do as a fully grown adult? Hi. Oh, hi, guys. So I'm a fully grown adult and I tend to put my underwear on inside out like minimum three times a week. Carly, I do that too.
Starting point is 00:11:51 And sometimes I put it on, you know how sometimes you put a G-string on? If it goes on sideways, it doesn't fit properly. What do you mean sideways? I'll put it on sideways. Wait, so you put the floss bit at the wrong side, inside the wrong side. On the wrong crack. Sometimes the floss bit goes around the side. Carly, I'm with you on this.
Starting point is 00:12:06 I'm an adult and I can't pull my underwear on either. Oh, okay. Yeah, it's hard. I haven't told you the best part, though. Oh. So you might think, oh, maybe this girl's, you know, got a lot going on or, you know, maybe she's in quite good life. I didn't, no.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Sorry, I didn't, but. I am a very senior lawyer and there's just no excuse. So I should, you know, I'm married, I own property, I have a very serious job, but I'm just walking around with inside-out underwear most days. Imagine saying that to someone, that they've come in for a very important law case and you're like, yeah, sorry, my undies are inside-out too.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Everything else is going fine. I can't take your case, sorry. Rachel on 131065, what can't you adult? I can't butter a piece of bread without creating holes in the bread. It needs to be more toasted. That's the problem. No, just bread, not toasted bread. Maybe it's a bread problem.
Starting point is 00:12:52 I think it's the technique. I don't think it's the bread. You don't blame the bread. No, I'm with Rachel. More spreadable butter. No, even on toast. Sometimes you've got a crispy bit of Wonder White and cold butter rips that or it flattens it, right, Rachel?
Starting point is 00:13:04 It flattens the fluffiness. Rachel, I, in all honesty, I was just on the other side of the fence there, but I have never been able to butter bread without putting a hole in it either. I just think you guys need a bit of Western star spreadable. You're just doing it wrong. Well, not all of us can afford the Lurpak, Ms. Harkley. I meant Allie. It is Lurpak.
Starting point is 00:13:18 It's Lurpak. All right. Noosh on 131065. Talk to us. What can't you do, you adult? Hi, I'm an adult and I can't blow my nose. What? What do you do then?
Starting point is 00:13:29 You pick it. I guess I just swallow it. Oh, no. No, you're a child. Laura Bain, you snort all day, every day and suck your nose up. I can still blow my nose, though. That's very true. I do snort all the time.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Just not on my nose. What happens when you go to do it? I snort in my nose all day. Yeah. What do you try to do? Try to blow it now. What does it sound like? I can't.
Starting point is 00:13:49 It comes out of my mouth. So do you just mean like it grosses you out that you can't bring yourself to do it or you don't understand how to do it? I don't understand how to do it. See, growing up, we always tried to cough the phlegm out in your mouth, but yeah. Have you ever been to the doctors about this? I think I do, yeah. I think so, too.
Starting point is 00:14:09 All right. Thank you, Nosh. You know what? It's nice to know that the listeners have the same issues as us. It's just universal, right? Do you know what else it is? You know when I reckon everyone, you know when you go to use your microwave and you don't actually know how to put the time in,
Starting point is 00:14:21 so you just press the 30 seconds 100 times? Everyone does that. Why it has 20 buttons is so unnecessary. All right, guys. It's been a crazy week. Did you know there was the pink full moon? It was a weird moon week. It explains a lot.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Yeah, it's been weird. Mercury's just come out of retrograde, but there's like four other planets in retrograde. A lot of people have been confessing and regretting deep, dark secrets. So we are doing confessions next. It's our listeners have sent us some of their deepest, darkest secrets.
Starting point is 00:14:45 We're going to read them out. I love that they think that the pink full moon is going to excuse them or absolve them. Yeah, everyone's got something. There's been something in the air or in the moon recently, don't you think, girls? The pink moon, isn't it? Yes, this wild pink moon that everyone,
Starting point is 00:14:57 including Kyle Sanderlands, has been making some pretty wild confessions. Confessions. Yeah, I saw that on the Kyle and Jackie O show. He claimed that because of the pink moon, he was going crazy on air, which is not an excuse. I don't think that that had anything to do with the pink moon. I think he just might have had a few things he wanted to get off his chest from his childhood.
Starting point is 00:15:13 No, but there is something that I read online and it is wild, I want to tell you. Oh, let's do it. Not mine. Confessions. Okay, this is a summary. A woman decided she was adopted. She didn't know her background. Her partner, long-term fiancé,
Starting point is 00:15:29 was also adopted. So they were like, let's do an Ancestry Chats. Let's find out where we're from. They sent it away. It came back. She opens the letter and she found out that they are directly related. They are cousins and they were both adopted out. When they were young, they found their way back.
Starting point is 00:15:47 And she said it makes sense because people always used to say we look alike. You know how people say you date people you look like. Now, the crazy part is she knows this now. They've been together for five years. They love each other. She knows that they are cousins. And she said, I'm not going to tell my fiancé. What do you think about that?
Starting point is 00:16:07 Is that wild? So she knows and he doesn't know. He doesn't know. He's just like, isn't it crazy that we have the same nose shape and eye shape, babe? We're so perfect for each other. How do you navigate that? I think that for me, I'm like, you've got to tap out of that. Do you have to?
Starting point is 00:16:22 I mean, people marry their cousin. It's not illegal. It is illegal. What are you talking about? It's so illegal. It's incest. It's incest. No, I'm pretty sure that you can marry your first cousin.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Someone do a live Google. No, second cousin. You cannot marry your first cousin. Producer Missy, can you get that info? You can't do your first cousin. Can't you? Second cousin, if that. Laura, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:16:42 Oh, my God. Can you? I think, okay, I'm pretty sure, and I don't want to name names, but I know someone who is married to their first cousin. Laura. Laura, you cannot marry. And they're from the Shire. Yes, I'm not making this up.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Don't throw aspersions at the Shire. That's where I'm born and raised. Mitch, it's from your hood. No, it's not my family. Can you believe what is happening that our co-host... OK, if I was in a loving relationship, if I was in a loving relationship, I'd been with a partner for five years,
Starting point is 00:17:07 I'd had no idea, no idea, and then we were engaged and I found out that I was related to them, I'd probably still get married to them. I'm just going to check with producer Missy. OK, so I've just done a quick Google. This is for Australian law because it does vary across the world, but Australian law prohibits flood relatives from marrying
Starting point is 00:17:25 and this includes adopt... You haven't... As well as children, cousins are not prohibited from marrying one another. Cousins can get married. So you go on down to Freetown. I've been careful how excited you get. You don't want to be the poster child for the incest in this nation. Okay, legally, Laura?
Starting point is 00:17:41 Legally, go crazy. Morally, you are out of this group. Ethically, morally, every other one. Oh, you were right. Sorry, I can admit defeat. I'm not happy that they can get married. I'm happy about being right. You seem really into it.
Starting point is 00:17:52 I have never made out with a cousin. Let me just put that out there. but I am very happy about being right about this. It's also weird that I knew that that was a thing. Missy, delete your search history. We don't want you to get fired. All right, more confessions. Let's do another one.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Okay, I've got one. Hello, ladies. This is one that was buried deep in the archives of my brain and just came to light today. About five years ago, I was in a situationship with a guy who had a girlfriend. Long story and not my proudest moment, so he was cheating on her with her.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Okay, one day he gave me his password for Ticketek to access some tickets he bought us and I randomly decided to try it for his Instagram with success. For months, I would log into his Instagram and delete all the photos that he uploaded with his girlfriend, unlike her posts, and delete all of his comments. He eventually changed his password, but to this day he has no idea that it was me the entire time.
Starting point is 00:18:41 What a dickhead. Goodness me. Imagine your boyfriend constantly deleting all the comments they write about you and unliking your photos and deleting them. You'd be like, why don't you love me anymore? It's pretty funny. It's pretty funny because you'd think that your partner's doing it and you'd be like, what?
Starting point is 00:18:53 I mean, did they break up, does it say? I don't know, but you'd get pretty angry at them. You'd be like, you're being really petty, wouldn't you? Oh, God, yeah. All right, one more. I absolutely hate my sister's boyfriend. He treats her like dirt, so every time they come to stay, I steal his toothbrush and I rub it around the toilet bowl.
Starting point is 00:19:09 No, that's very math circa 2019, isn't it? Look, you are pro cousins getting married. You can't come in with your opinion right now. I don't want a poopy toothbrush anywhere near me, nor do I want to make out with my cousin. Winnie me. Okay, agree to disagree. All right, if you've got a confession you want to admit to us
Starting point is 00:19:24 and we'll absolve you of your sins. Tell us your dark, dirty secrets and we'll maybe tell you it's semi-fine. Clearly the bar is low. Apparently. Can't wait for Laura to side with serial killers next week. A lot of wedding talk happening at the moment. Brittany's sister Sherry's getting married this coming week and you're getting married in four weeks, Lois.
Starting point is 00:19:40 It feels, okay, four weeks is so soon, but it feels like it's still a very long way away. Oh, it is not. It is right around the corner. All right, but something I haven't shared with you guys. We've had some true disasters happen recently. We had a wedding planner and things weren't really going to plan. Things weren't being planned.
Starting point is 00:19:57 That's the one job they need to do. Well, they hadn't. So there were so many things that we thought had been booked in. We thought had been organised and they just weren't. So we now, four weeks out from the wedding, are scrambling to get things organised. I only booked in my flowers five days ago. Wait, did they pull out?
Starting point is 00:20:12 Well, no. Look, there's been a few confusing things. I won't go too into it. I don't want to get into trouble and get some sort of lawsuit against me, but we only just got our flowers booked in. We haven't even got transport yet for the guests to get from their hotels to the venue. Hang on, you told us where to meet for the bus.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Is the bus not coming? We've got to get a bus, but the bus will pick you up at some point. Okay, but I'm in all of these wedding chat groups. I'm in the Facebook groups. I'm in the Wed Shed groups. Like, I'm in them all, right? Scrambling to try and organise my own wedding. And this story gave me a real sense of comfort
Starting point is 00:20:44 because I'm not the only person who at the 11th hour is like, oh, my wedding's very close and things are absolutely not going to plan. This is from a Reddit thread. There is a woman whose mother encouraged her to use a friend to do the wedding cake for her, right? And she was like, she's a professional baker, she's amazing and it'll be a really nice thing for you to do for me to use my friend to create your wedding cake.
Starting point is 00:21:06 And that's so awkward when a friend or your mum pressures you into using another friend. It is, but it's also great to take a referral. Like, when someone says, this is a great person, you're like, okay, someone I know has used them. 100%. I'm with you, Britt. If someone said to me, hey, I've got a friend,
Starting point is 00:21:18 they're an amazing baker, and I thought, wow, that one problem solved, ticked, it sorted itself out. I just want to show you a photo of the trial cake. Oh, no. That was sent to her. From the friend. From the friend. Okay, whip it out.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Here it is. Oh, God. It looks like a top hat. It looks like a hat the queen would wear. Yeah, but a hat that was left in Laura's bedroom of mould. It looks like something my children would make at daycare. It looks like it could be a styrofoam cake. That is terrible.
Starting point is 00:21:45 That's been decorated with a bit of clad glue on top. No, it looks like a knob. That's what it looks like. Look at it. It's after a really good Saturday night. You'd absolutely, you would cry, wouldn't you? You'd really cry. So she showed this to her mum and she was like,
Starting point is 00:21:59 obviously I need to get a new person to make the cake for the wedding. And her mum was like, I think it looks beautiful. Just put some flowers on top. No. No. What would you do? How do you break up with your wedding cake? supplier. That was a trial. That was just a trial. Doesn't
Starting point is 00:22:12 mean it's going to get any better. The trial isn't for the baker. The trial is for the bride. Oh yeah, the trial isn't they don't make a cake and then say don't want I'll improve it for next time. The trial is them showing you what it's going to look like. Oh wait, what? Yeah, and then you decide. You've got to break up with the chef. I would
Starting point is 00:22:27 100% eat it. It probably tastes delicious but I would go and get another one. You have to go. You cannot get married with that cake. No. It's a strong no from me and then you're probably going to have to divorce your family. That's a bit dramatic. I feel like You probably don't have to do that. I just reckon no more taking advice from your mum.
Starting point is 00:22:44 All right, well, good luck with your wedding. I'm sure it'll be fine. And knob cake or not, I'll enjoy it. Okay, and even if there's no bus, please just get a taxi and be there on time. Starts at three. Do you have Uber XL? Let's just book in it.
Starting point is 00:22:54 I've got Uber everything, actually. I'm a frequent flyer. Good, we'll be set. You know, someone who might actually be able to tell us if your wedding's going to be a success, is Chloe. She's from the new Channel 10 show, The Traders. She claims to be a clairvoyant,
Starting point is 00:23:05 although she might just be a traitor, which is the whole plot of the show. So she's here. We're going to have to tell her she's lying to us. I'm very suspicious of clairvoyance. Oh, yeah. I'm very sceptical, but I reckon we get her to do a reading. I'm going to call it now.
Starting point is 00:23:16 Great. We'll do it next. Ladies, have we all seen the promos for that new show on Channel 10? It's premiering tomorrow night, The Traitors. I am so excited. I love myself a little bit of a murder mystery style. Yes, it's very that. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Well, we have Chloe, who is a clairvoyant from the new show in studio with us. Chloe, hi. Welcome. Hello. We've seen you all over the ads. Yeah, I know. I have been. How are you feeling about the show starting tomorrow?
Starting point is 00:23:44 I am so excited. I cannot wait for everyone to watch it. So, Chloe, just give us, for anyone that hasn't seen the ads, give us like a little summary of what this show is about. It's about a group of people playing each other to win a prize. And there's a few traitors and then we have faithfuls. And you're trying to work out who is who and everyone is spreading rumours, lies, deception.
Starting point is 00:24:07 So it's literally a show like Who's the Best Liar? Pretty much. It's like Cluedo. It's like a big game of Cluedo. Remember the mole from years ago? Does anyone remember that? Yes, very good. It's like a mole on steroids.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Yeah, it's very similar to that. So basically at this point, we don't know whether you are a traitor. And you're trying to, because you are a clairvoyant, part of your spiel, I guess you would say, is that because you are very in tune, it wouldn't be of your nature to lie and say that you're not. I know. but you have to watch to see what I do.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Maybe I do, maybe I don't. But in my nature, I definitely am not. I'm all about the love. Okay, well, what is a clairvoyant to start with? What do you envisage or how do you read people? What is involved in being a clairvoyant? So for me personally, as a clairvoyant, the way that I communicate with the spirit world
Starting point is 00:25:00 is I receive images in my mind and they show me an image of themselves and then a series of images of the house they lived in, memories, maybe guidance for yourself or your family, things for your future. And then there'll be some verbal communication in my mind as well. So it's really about having a very still mind and receiving things that I shouldn't know. So how do you know then? So if you get a vision or spirit that comes and visits you, how do you then associate it with a person? So for example, one of us in this room right now, how do you know that it goes to this person? Are they like,
Starting point is 00:25:35 Shout out, I'm here for Brit. I wish. No, I kind of, we have a little like unwritten code that if I say someone, that spirit has to come in at that time. Yeah, sometimes it can be five spirits in my mind just all standing there and then all these images come through. I'm buying it. Are you guys buying it so far?
Starting point is 00:25:55 I wasn't to start with. I don't know. Some of the fancy. I had a theory. Oh, I like that. I think that you're a traitor and that this whole clairvoyant is like that's all part of the game. You're not actually even a clairvoyant.
Starting point is 00:26:08 That's all part of your trick. Oh, you have to wait and see. I was like maybe. We have to do a reading then to show you I am a clairvoyant. Oh, well, let's do that then. What do you reckon, Mitch? Okay, before we do a reading, I want to know, what's the craziest thing that's happened to you so far?
Starting point is 00:26:24 Has any famous spirit ever come to you? Oh, yeah, famous spirits come all the time. What? That's just like, that's so much fun. And I've had Freddie Mercury. What? Oh, that's weird because I just did a skit as Freddie Mercury. Yeah, maybe he's here right now.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Maybe he wanted to tell you that it was dreadful. Can you call Freddie Mercury in right now? Yeah, absolutely. Call Freddie in. Call Freddie in. All right, let's call him in. Okay, he's coming in with a white singlet on. He's like tapping his hand and he has an instrument in his hand that he's tapping.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Is he saying anything to me? He's just standing there dancing. Oh, really? Freddie, come on. He's wearing, like, a gold jacket. Did you do, like, a dance move with, like, a jacket on? I did. Yes, I did, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:06 Yeah. I mean, I was proud. Freddie, you'd be so proud of me. I do feel like Freddie Mercury wears gold jackets. He does. It's still a bit obscure. I need more. Who else has come to you?
Starting point is 00:27:17 So we've had Princess Diana. Oh, wow. What does Princess Diana have to say or think about what's just happened with the monarchy? She taught. I haven't spoken to her since then. Oh, give her a buzz. Yeah, yeah. Should we see?
Starting point is 00:27:30 She loves to come in. Yeah, call her in. Let's see what she thinks. Okay. Ring, ring. All right, she's here. She's giving you all a big hug. That was quick.
Starting point is 00:27:39 So quick. Oh, my God. So friendly. She said that everything from this moment is going to change. For us? No, no, for the monarchy. Oh. And Kate should be very careful.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Oh. Stark warning. You heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen. I have goosebumps. Watch your back, Kate Milton. So here's the thing. But William will rise. Oh, she's still going.
Starting point is 00:28:00 William will rise. Do you know what? I want to get a reading for us. Yeah. Now that we've seen a little bit of the celebrity side of things, I want to see if anything pops into mind for Britt or myself or Mitch. Yeah, anyone. What happens?
Starting point is 00:28:12 Let's do an in-studio reading. Who wants to come in first? Okay. All right, we'll go to a break. When we come back, Chloe here from the Traders. So if you missed it, 24 players. Some are really nice. Some of the Traders, we're trying to work out if Chloe is sweet
Starting point is 00:28:25 or if she's like she says, an actual clairvoyant. We'll do it next. Tomorrow night, premiering at 7.30 on Channel 10, is The Traitors. So quickly, how this works, girls, 24 contestants, they're all in an old spooky hotel. It's kind of like a murder mystery, right? There is a group of what they're calling the faithful, so they're the good guys,
Starting point is 00:28:40 and then amongst the faithful are the traitors, so someone who's trying to ruin the game and win the game for themselves. A plant. Yes, they're not who they say they are. And we have one of the contestants with us now, Chloe, who claims to be a clairvoyant. Hi. And we're saying claims.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Love the word claims to be a clairvoyant. You have to check out my Instagram. Oh, you were trying to, Laura, before the show. Okay, that's why. I was doing the Google search. I was deep in it. I was trying to find a bit of backstory, and I was like, why can't I find more about Chloe?
Starting point is 00:29:07 And that is what made me think that maybe the whole thing was a setup. So, Chloe, we just got, I mean, I just got hugged by Princess Diana. I got a kiss from Freddie Mercury. This is like the best day of my life. Can you do a reading for us now? Anything, Mitch, Laura, myself, the show, is there anything coming to you right now? Yeah, well, let's pick someone.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Pick me because I'm a sceptic. Feeling, ah, you. Okay, we'll definitely go with you. Okay, so let me just give a moment. I'm just going to connect my energy to you. So one moment. So I just want to tell you in the lower intestines or a dominant, it's a little bit white.
Starting point is 00:29:44 So I'm just going to see and ask the spirits what that is, if that's something, some bacteria there for you to do a cleanse. It might be that mould. I live amongst a lot of mould at the moment. Her bowel movements are very regular. That's true. I can confirm. Okay, so there's just some inflammation in your lower intestines.
Starting point is 00:30:03 So you are being asked to do a cleanse, even if it's a celery juice cleanse, just to clean that out. Have you been having any issues? Brittany's laughing at my bowel movements. Now listen to her. She's sitting over there chuckling. It's because I have to go to the bathroom at Brittany's house most days and she has to experience it.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I would say that there's probably some bacteria in there. This is serious. Now, hold on. If Chloe wasn't a real clairvoyant, And that's a bold move to make a medical diagnosis. One of my favourite things to do. I've helped a lot of people. So you just did Laura.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Why don't we pivot to Britt? I'm happy for some spirits. I'm happy for some future love advice. I am feeling something. Maybe the air con is quite low, but I'm feeling something in the room. Mitch, we'll visit your spirits in a minute. Okay, let's see what comes through. I'm just going to reconnect.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I'm connecting. So I have an older female coming through. She's got white hair. It's Tahir. It's definitely a grandmother. she's coming through with a beautiful white shirt with floral red flowers okay let's ask her about love so there's a male with dark brown hair he's wearing a suit he's got tan skin you meet him at the end of next year oh it involves water and boats oh it's does he own a yacht are you getting
Starting point is 00:31:19 travel. You will travel and he will be there. He will be there on a yacht. You'll be out. Is it Jason Momoa? And he's going to be wearing a blue shirt when you meet him. Overseas, on a yacht. He's connected to work, so a job that you'll be doing. Is he a professional sportsman?
Starting point is 00:31:36 And you'll meet him out. No, he's not a professional sportsman. And that's coming through quite clearly too. So on a boat to do with work in Australia next year dark skin, blue shirt. I know what's happening.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Brittany is the next contestant on the love boat. And you marry him. I marry him. You marry him. Oh, wow. That's it. Still going. That's it.
Starting point is 00:31:57 These are really strong commitments, Chloe. I'm very impressed. Okay. I've got a way to you now. You also have to be, there's twins coming through for you. Oh. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Damn. Do you have twins in your family? No. I've got twins in my family. My dad and my granddad are both twins. Oh, are you and I having kids? Is this what she's getting? Maybe you picked up that.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Listen, if you are the traitor, I think we're going to be in for a very fun time because that was very convincing. I'm not convinced yet, let me say. I still think that I'm 50% on the fence here. You could be the traitor. I may or may not be. We'll have to tune in and find out. The Traitor premieres tomorrow night, 7.30.
Starting point is 00:32:37 On what network, Chloe? 10. Picking up vibes. Channel 10. Oh, she's good. Maybe I'm the sidekick. Thank you for coming on, Chloe. It was a pleasure.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Yeah, you're welcome. Thank you for having me. We're back after this at the Life Uncut radio show around Australia. Can't wait till next year. We've got to talk the ex-boyfriend files. Sorry. How you have this on hand is beyond me. Well, I know Laura hates it, so whenever I can fit it in, I do.
Starting point is 00:33:02 You really do, don't you? I love it. It's Scully and Mulder. Yeah. And it works, the files, the ex-boyfriend files, yeah. Okay, well, if you haven't heard of this, there is a new website. It's been going around and it's been getting a bit of traction in the news lately. and I have some conflicting feelings about this.
Starting point is 00:33:17 What is it? So it's called The Ex-Boyfriend Files. Now, The Ex-Boyfriend Files is a website. It's kind of like TripAdvisor, but for your ex. So if you date it, it's only for women and it's only for cis women. So if you dated a man who did the dirty on you, treated you bad, broke your heart, ran around with some red flags, you can go on to The Ex-Boyfriend Files.
Starting point is 00:33:39 You can put in their name, their age, their location and exactly what they did. And it's kind of like a warning system for anybody else who's in that area. They can type in. So if you're looking for, you know, David from Bronte, type in David Bronte and it'll give you, if there's any Davids in Bronte, it'll give you the summation of other women's experience with that man. So like a red flag list.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Yes. Are there photos attached to this? No photos. And apparently, so you can't dox the guy. You can't put down someone's phone number or their address or, you know, their Facebook, whatever else. Yeah. but you can give as much information about your relationship
Starting point is 00:34:13 and what they did as you want. I don't like this. Thank you for stopping that music. I felt the moment, darling. I think this is really shit. I don't use TripAdvisor anyway because I don't trust the reviews on there. What about Google reviews? Do you do a Google review for a business?
Starting point is 00:34:28 No, not unless they've asked me. I think this is really shit. You know why? People can change. So someone might do something and people can change. A leopard can change their spots at least once. the other thing is we we speak all the time about misinformation and disinformation you have no way to know if this is real somebody could just have a vendetta against somebody else and go on and
Starting point is 00:34:48 just write everything they want about them and what someone else is going to go and make a whole life decision based on this gospel i agree but isn't there just a little part of you when you think about your cheating ex from the past that makes you want to be like god i wish i could warn some women about him i mean i dated a sociopath and i still wouldn't have put him on there no i don't i'm not about this i don't like it do you like it mitch no i can see how it can be abused I think it's harmless. I love TripAdvisor. When you go to a hotel, I always look at the real images.
Starting point is 00:35:14 You know how the hotel has like the perfect photographed images and then you go to user images and then there's cockroaches on the beds. What they need to do then is put their like Tinder profile here and then the person's user experience and that sits side by side. Oh my God, see now, that I can get around. Laura, you have some people that hate you out there, right? Just like tropics. Really?
Starting point is 00:35:31 Do I? My ex-boyfriends? No, no, no. People, I'm just saying anyone. We all do, right? We've all got these little online trolls. We don't know who they are. I was like, do you know someone specifically that I'm not aware of?
Starting point is 00:35:40 But what if they just were like, I hate that Laura Byrne girl. I am going to go and put a review about her and say how bad she was. She cheated on me. She did all these. Like, you don't know them. And then that sticks like mud. So I'm not about it. I'm pretty sure that's just the Daily Mail comments, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:35:54 That's the comment section. Yeah. This is a, Mitch, I don't know if you have some sound effects there. It's a no from me. What do you need? Oh, yeah, that's easy on hand. Okay, I'm not for it. I'm not endorsing it.
Starting point is 00:36:06 I just kind of enjoy that it exists. so that I can read it. I guess, quite like the X-Files, it's a mystery. It's a mystery. Maybe I should go on and Google it. And if you want to go on... Brittany32 from Bondi. Is she on there?
Starting point is 00:36:17 Brittany28, Bondi. It's officially called the ex-boyfriend list too, the ex-boyfriend list. So if you want to Google that and have a look, that's where you can go. Do you know what? I did do a quick Google and there was mostly only guys from the States.
Starting point is 00:36:27 Did you search Matty J? Yeah, he's fine. He's fine? He's got a good track record. Okay. He had five stars. But guys, that's it for us. We've hit the end of the show again.
Starting point is 00:36:35 And until then, you know the drill. Tell your mum, tell your dad, tell your dog, tell your friends and share the love because we love love. See you in a week. Have you missed any of the Live on Cart radio show with Britt Hockley and Laura Baird? Hear it in the Catch Up podcast on iHeartRadio.
