Hi guys and welcome back to another episode of Life Uncut. I'm Laura and I'm Brittany
and okay let's just keep on rolling this is our radio show so every saturday we package up our
radio show for you guys for anybody who didn't listen live we're coming for you where you at
just tune in why don't you listen live i want to know this that's why we put this bad boy here
but you know what we don't put everything here we only put some of the highlights so you did
miss out on some stuff but we are unpacking there is a priest who is from arizona who made
one massive blunder well and that blunder went for 20 years and apparently there's a whole lot
of people whose baptisms have been void yeah it could be you if you were in arizona in the last
20 years you probably need to go and check go check your admin but also we get some of your
worst like your worst things that happened in your workplace and some of you guys we reached
out to the life uncut community we had some of our members ride in and holy shit they are so funny
yeah there were some pretty big fuck-ups let's be real and brit brit talks about what she used
of sunscreen this week i definitely lathered myself in something i should not have and i am
unpacking what is the plane etiquette with you if you're traveling again after some time in lockdown
some time in covid and you're getting back on an airplane how the fuck do you do it that is it
enjoy the show guys we're going to see you on tuesday for an absolutely killer ep if you haven't
seen or heard of the tinder swindler you need to go and do your homework it is number one around
the world, trending on Netflix. It is an absolutely insane story about a romantic con man that went
onto Tinder, posed as a billionaire, and then started to steal women's money. And I'm talking
excessive amounts of money. It's insane. So we've got the girls from the show on the podcast.
So we're talking to Cecilia and Pernilla on Tuesday's episode, but we wanted to talk to
them about all the other things that have happened in their life since the docuseries is finished.
Like, how do they feel now that, you know, everyone knows about their story, but also that they're still owing so much money and Simon, who is the main guy, who is the con man, is pretty much walking free.
Well, also, not even that.
He's almost a little bit famous.
He's got a, well, he had before they kicked him off Instagram.
He had a huge following.
There were so many people, like, backing him.
It's insane.
And the thing that's even more crazy is, like, yes, he was kicked off of Instagram, but he's still very, very active on TikTok.
And it seems like he is still living the high life.
So I know that you guys, when you watch this docuseries and then you listen to Tuesday's
episode, you're going to be just as enraged as what we feel about this whole thing.
But we're going to get into that for Tuesday.
Anyway, for now, here is the radio show.
All new in 22.
The Life Uncut Radio Show.
With Britt Hockley and Laura Byrne.
Britt, I don't know if you saw in the group chat, but overnight, Laura's like, I want
to talk about a priest on the show.
And we're like, do what you want, mate.
I know.
I was like, you do you, boo, and I will roll with it.
I want to absolve you all of your sins.
No, actually, I want to talk about what's the worst thing that you have done at work,
like the biggest mistake that you have ever made at work.
I don't feel like we're allowed to say that live on air.
We all get fired.
This is our work.
This is our job right now.
I've taken the radio station off air for 10 minutes, and I didn't realize because I was
up on the roof making a coffee.
Wow.
So you'll have a job.
Yeah, I know.
I was just about to say something very punny, but I guess it's not even punny.
It's where it comes from.
So it's literally radio silence for everyone in the cars.
Good one.
That was good.
Seriously, was it?
It was just radio silence.
Yeah, the backup tape.
Like when you're off air for a certain amount of time,
a backup tape kicks in.
So like songs, emergency songs.
So that played.
So I came back down.
I'm like, oh, Adele's on.
No problem.
But that was the emergency tape.
Oh, wow.
But you had a great espresso.
Yes, I did.
Thank goodness we can rely on technology and apparently not people.
Well, what did the priest do?
There is a priest who's from Arizona.
His name is Oranga.
And he has been incorrectly baptizing people for literally the last 20 years.
So instead of saying, I baptise you in the power of the Holy Spirit,
or whatever the words are, he says, we baptise you.
And it's come under scrutiny.
And the Catholic diocese has turned around and said that every single person
this poor priest has baptised is no longer baptised.
Null and void.
It's null and void.
Now, you would think that this isn't, like,
it sounds like it could be a bit of a big deal.
The amount of admin and, like, flow on from this is insane.
So some people who have been married by him are no longer, their marriage is a void because
they were never baptized in the Catholic Church.
Oh my God.
But hang on.
You have to be, excuse my ignorance here.
Do you have to be baptized to be legally married?
That doesn't make sense.
You have to be baptized to be married in the Catholic Church.
So like you can't, the baptism is the very first of all of the religious ceremonies that
follow on.
So everything that that person has done is void.
Okay.
So if you were married, let me just pick my jaw up off the ground.
If you'd been married for 15 years and then the church contacted you and like, we had a little slip up a little while ago.
If they contacted you and said like, made a boo-boo, would you still continue to celebrate that and pretend you're married?
Or would you re-get married and start your whole anniversary again?
Oh, God, I don't know.
But imagine, even worse than that, imagine rocking up at the pearly gates and being like, hello, I've done a really good job all my life.
And they're standing there and they go, oh, sorry, sorry, Mr. Joseph, you weren't baptized.
you gotta go downstairs when you're baptized could have been worse you could have been putting milk
on their head instead of water the reason why like when i read this story i had just had a moment of
like oh we've all been there yeah i have a pretty bad work related accident that happened i i used
to work for a big pharmaceutical company and we did this like we booked out all the second page
of every paper in australia like the big papers like sydney morning herald the telegraph and then
whatever it is in Perth, like all of them.
And then I put the wrong phone number on the ad.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars.
And so we were sitting there.
It was a whole team.
It was like a telly room.
And I was like, the phones are going to ring.
Nothing happened.
What about poor Sally?
He's getting nonstop calls at home.
But we did put a call out.
We have some people, you guys.
Yeah, 131065, what did you screw up in your job?
Let's go to Jasmine.
Okay, so it was a long time ago.
I worked at a day spa and people would come in and have like an actual like spa bath after some
of their treatments so before their treatment we would turn the tap on to fill up the spa bath and
set a timer for 30 minutes I of course didn't set a timer I forgot about it it completely overflowed
I was sitting at reception and I saw water seeping through the wall through the wall
through the wall I flooded the place so badly it went through like four treatment rooms like
multiple walls and what did you do well I just hustled and like cleaned it up as quickly as I
could with like moths and towels and it was actually my last day because I was moving
interstate and so I never told anyone well I mean I think you did the right thing you don't have to
tell anyone wait could you imagine wouldn't I get mold or something yes like the secret of water
damage that is absolutely not your problem because you're not there anymore oh that's the best we've
all been there thank you jasmine let's go to grace hello grace you're on with the girls what did you
screw up at work hi girls how you going hi grace i'm i'm hiding in an office at the moment because
i'm at work and it's a bit of a touchy subject well this could be your next problem when they
find out it was you yeah probably oh well we'll deal with that problem later um i am an assistant
for a team of estate lawyers so when someone dies and leaves the will we help distribute their
assets um and i was going to pay um our client her inheritance from her dead mother's estate
but i ended up paying it to the wrong account um yeah and so i gave her inheritance to a random
who for a while wait how much money grace are we talking we're talking thousands and thousands of
dollars and did you get it back what do you do well we so usually i was praying it would bounce
back and it would not be an actual number but it was so it went to someone who for a few months was
refusing to give it back um and so eventually we got it back but I was pretty new to the role
new to the firm um and so yeah that wasn't great that was a bit of a screw-up I mean that poor
person first of all you hear that your mother's died and second of all you hear that you just
gave all their money away what a kick pretty inconscionable of the other person to think that
oh I'm just going to keep this dead person's money they do it I know we we explained we sort
pulled at the heartstrings and no they weren't they weren't having it but yeah i don't do many
of those transfers anymore you got moved departments yeah i just i did a filing in the
mail now seems right all right thank you grace let's do kate holly kate what did you screw up
in your job you're on the air with the girls so i'm a paramedic and early one morning we delivered
a baby at the patient's home the baby's legs were bent up and i thought what i saw was lady
bits so i announced the baby girl to the whole family said how gorgeous she was what am i going
know that she's a girl a healthy baby girl then 10 minutes later we've gone to wrap her and this
little penis pops out dying what was their reaction what did they say when you were like
it's yeah charlotte's now henry what did what did they say i think they're just in shock that
i had the baby at home to start with and they're worried about their mattress and towels but then
In my defense, I've been like, oh, it's so cold this morning.
Sorry.
So this poor little boy has been insulted like three times
in his first ten minutes of life.
I mean, I'm sorry.
I thought it was a girl because clearly it's too small to see.
And it's a stressful situation too.
It's a darkly lit area.
Also, don't worry.
Henry's young.
He's got time to grow.
He's a grower, not a shawl.
So Ask Uncut is a segment that we do on our podcast every week.
It is where we answer your deep, dark and burning questions.
And people write in questions from all different walks of life.
And Britt and I come to it with absolutely no expertise, but a lot of experience.
And today we have a question from a guy named Dan.
So does my partner need to care about my day?
Because she's amazing in every other way.
We've been together for like four years nearly.
But it's hard to vent to her after work.
Like she doesn't ask questions.
She kind of acts like she's not interested.
She said, I don't really know how much she's supposed to care
and it's kind of hard because, like, I feel like she barely knows, like,
what I'm like outside of when we're together, like what I do all day.
Like, am I just dreaming that there's, like, a girl that I can bounce
all my ideas and my life off and vent with and genuinely shows interest
in my day?
Is this like a – is it a red flag or something?
Should I be worried?
Yes, Dan, you should be worried.
This is – I mean, short answer, yeah.
I think that your partner does need to care about your life.
I think that that's the whole point of dating.
I'm sorry that you come home and feel like you're with someone
that doesn't care about you.
But you 100%, like what's the point of a relationship
if you genuinely, A, do not know what your partner does in his day
or her day, and B, doesn't care about what their partner does
in their day.
I think that that's a pretty strange relationship.
Maybe Dan complains a lot though.
I don't know.
He doesn't sound like a complainer.
No, he didn't.
No, I love that you're straight.
I'm the optimist, you're the pessimist.
I was trying to play devil's advocate here.
No, I mean, of course, you want to be with somebody
who cares about what's happening in your life
and, like, shows an interest.
And, I mean, I can understand if it was something
that, like, maybe that she was going through a period
where her work was really stressful
and she didn't really have the mental load to take
on what's happening in your day,
if there's been other big bad things happening in your world.
I can understand why sometimes we would check out a little bit.
But, yeah, you need to be with someone who cares about your day.
the only thing that like makes me feel concerned in saying like yes this is a red flag is when you
say she's amazing in every other way and i think sometimes can we expect too much of our partners
can we be expecting them to be amazing in every single thing or are you guys just a little bit
of a funk right now i mean yeah i think you can expect them to ask how you don't like i think
that's we're scraping the barrel there laura that's the bare minimum no i think like you're
not gonna go and pack your bags and move out and break up and move to alaska that's not on the
cards but you probably need to have a conversation and just say how you feel at the end of the day
communication and you just say babe babe listen to me babe i don't really feel like you are
interested or you care about my day or you know is there a way we can talk about this or what's
that about or do you just actually genuinely not care have the conversation and go from there
definitely don't do a runner just yet i totally agree i don't think you should be packing your
bags up yet and i and i think if she is great in all the other ways if you do have a conversation
about it she'll probably be really understanding i mean just ask her how her day is and if she
doesn't respond say well mine was great too thanks for asking passive aggression always
This goes a really long way.
You heard that here first.
If you want to get in touch, DM the girls at Life Uncut Podcast on Instagram.
Be featured on the show maybe next week.
All new in 22.
For your Saturday morning, the Life Uncut Radio Show
from Britt Hockley and Laura Byrne.
So I – this is quite funny.
This happened yesterday.
I moved into a new house, as you all know,
and you know when you move into a house,
you just leave stuff everywhere unpacked.
You leave boxes unpacked for a very long time.
I probably won't have to pack my house up in a year when I move.
It's just still going to be boxes.
Anyway, stuff everywhere.
I was taking my dog down to the beach.
I am very sun safe.
So I was getting everything ready to go to the beach.
I put sun cream on Delilah because she has a pink nose so they can get very burnt.
Put her sun cream on, then put sun cream on all over me, put my hat on.
The sun cream felt really, really nice actually.
I thought it was like a new brand.
Anyway, I went to the beach, had a great old time down there for a couple of hours.
Now I'm talking, I'm a 50 plus sun cream kind of girl usually.
Sun safety is very important.
I went for a swim and I just felt super oily and a little bit frothy.
Like there's a little bit of froth going on all over my body.
And I was a bit of a like slippery little sucker there.
I get home later and that night and I am roasted.
Like I was so burned.
Yeah, I was so burned.
And I was like, what is going on?
I went into the bathroom to the sun cream that I had put on,
which I had just picked up out of a box and it was sun bum.
And that is why I had grabbed it, sun bum.
sun bum now make conditioner and shampoo
i had lathered conditioner on my whole body as sun cream without somehow without clocking it
gone to the beach and that's why i was like bubbling and frothing in the ocean okay but
also silky and smooth as well let's like look at the positives here how was delilah's poor little
pink nose that's what i want to know my skin was so moisturized no delilah has special dog sun
cream you're not allowed to use human sun cream mom oh it's good to know that my dog's eight and
i've been using human sunscreen for his entire life it's like porcelain have you ever used that
have you ever done something where you've like used the wrong thing yes i feel like everyone's
done something do you know what i've done i've i once picked up and matt always has hairspray in
our joint bathroom like he's i love that matt has the hairspray he does that's what he uses you know
he's a man who cares about his looks he uses hairspray and usually hairspray comes in a big
massive can anyway he bought one of the smaller ones and i hadn't realized and i picked it up
and sprayed it under my arms.
And it wasn't until about half an hour later
that I couldn't figure out why my armpits kept sticking together.
I was trying to do the chicken dance and I just had no movement.
It was like I'd glued my armpits together.
I can't lie.
Headlies.
Yes, this is Headlies.
I bring articles every week,
headlines that have been written about Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne,
and I bring them to you.
Some are real, some are fake.
It's your job to debunk.
Headline, headline.
Most of them are real, let's be true.
That makes them fun, though.
There's some really unfortunate things that are written about Britt and I.
And, yeah, look, this is our opportunity.
It's our opportunity to kind of, you know.
Defend ourselves.
Yes.
Let's dive in.
I've got the first one.
Uh-oh.
Is the big screen ready?
Life Uncuts' Brittany Hockley set to announce a major role in feature film
after announcing she's signed to one of the country's biggest agencies.
Wow.
I haven't read that yet.
Is that real?
Have I just signed on to a huge movie?
Are you an actor now?
Like, what's going on here?
Look, I mean, what do you mean now?
Yeah, look, guys, I've been in acting school for years,
filmed a feature film last year, but I did just sign with, yes,
I did just sign with Chris Hemsworth's agent, so that's pretty big.
Congratulations.
Hopefully, yeah, hopefully that means Chris and I will be pretty tight soon.
Yeah, so you're going to be in a Marvel movie.
We'll see you on the big screen.
I don't know if the rest of that is true, but I have something.
It's 50-50.
I love that you're like, let's just hope.
Let's put the manifestation and the affirmation out there.
Yeah, sure, that's true.
Hollywood, I'm coming.
That's true.
All right, let's do this.
Laura Byrne shocks fans and followers alike after announcing she wore
strangers underpants and laughed about it on her number one radio show,
Lifetime Cut Radio Show, with a handsome and talented comedian
and radio presenter, Mitch Durie.
Look, most of that is absolutely – it's a long title, isn't it?
That was a long headline.
It must be real.
I didn't wear the underwear.
I took them home and washed them and then realised that they were
somebody else's, and then I threw them away.
But we do have a handsome co-host, so it's 50-50.
It's one and yellow.
Wow, what a mixed bag today, guys.
Let's do this.
Hot Mama, The Bachelor's Laura...
That's all obviously about Britney.
The Bachelor's Laura Byrne shows off her toned physique in a bikini
as she enjoys a beach day with her beautiful fiancé,
Mattie Johnson, and their two daughters in Sydney.
Oh, look, find your best light and know your angles.
That's all I have to say.
Oh, whatever.
She's a babe.
Just own it.
You're hot.
No, that's accurate.
That is the headline.
No, look, it's a photo of me in a bikini with my family
and I did this like well actually a lovely stranger took the photo and when I saw it I was
like oh that was pleasantly surprising so I posted it on Instagram I'm gonna put a filter on that and
put it straight up all right what about this it's the end of an era Brittany Hockley leaves
lucrative podcast and radio deal to take up her dream job as virgin flight attendant
I thought you're gonna say to go to Hollywood I also like that all of your headlines are about
like just like trying to get away from us totally no i did i did a really beautiful thing on
valentine's day love day i joined virgin i did put a flight attendant outfit on and i did join
the team and i flew some honeymooners that missed their honeymoon throughout covid i flew them up
north i gave them roses they had a night in queensland it was just about celebrating love
so that was the 50 50 as well but i'm not leaving you guys just so you know unless chris hemsworth
which could happen as we learn all right finally the new it crew in charge of sydney
designer and podcaster laura burn and beloved maddie j leading the pack wait what i don't even
understand what did that what does that even mean the new it crew is this thing matt we're leading
the pack for where where are we going wherever you want you're the it crew you can go pretty
shitty leader you don't know where you're going like the pine piper people don't know where they're
going she's just going in circles nobody follow me i'm always confused anyway uh yeah look i'm
going to say false it's definitely false no one is following them anyway this is the life uncut
radio show uh guys we're talking plane etiquette here today we are so i feel like a lot of people
are now getting back into the world of flying taking holidays getting out of their little
bubble we took a sneaky one last week we did and this is where this experience happened to me so
So we took a plane because we were flying back from Queensland with the kids.
And planes are the transport of the sky?
They are the public transport of the sky.
I did say that.
On the podcast, you quoted.
Because people were complaining about the kids crying.
And I was like, if you're going to complain about being on a plane next to crying kids,
it's like you don't get a free pass.
We've got to get the kids there somehow.
And a plane is the only way of doing it.
Anyway, that's not what we're talking about.
So we had three seats to ourselves.
It was me, Matt, and the two girls.
and i had lola sitting on my lap so as soon as that fasten seat belt sign goes off i am reclining
the seat because i've got no room i've got a kid sitting on my lap and as i'm in the midst
of reclining the seat this man taps me on the shoulder and says excuse me i have really long
legs could you please not recline your seat oh and i was like what i know can you ask me not to
recline so i had a moment there where i was like of course i didn't recline it because he'd asked
me to but i was like can you ask someone even if it's a short flight not to recline their seat
just because you're tall no no no because you're both paying customers the difference is you should
have said oh you've got long legs i have a baby strapped to my chest i also paid for this flight
and oh i love how angry you are go britney she's pointing that finger at you i'm scared
when i got my finger out you know this is serious but on top of that if you've got long legs
bro you book the exit row you pay 20 more you book the row you know you've got long legs they
haven't sprung up on you this week you were born with them you've got the legs they're there i just
thought it was so ballsy to like as someone is mid doing something be like uh uh you can't do that
stop doing and i understand if it was like food service or you had to like i understand the rules
but i was just so taken aback okay next question why i'm surprised you let him yeah and maybe i
need to be a little more assertive who gets the armrest who's wrestling if you're in the middle
When do you get the armrest?
There's so many things now.
I think you share that.
And you know how you can sometimes feel it?
Like one goes forward more, one's anterior, one's posterior.
So one like slides their arm on the back and one has to go a bit farther forward.
I've got a thick elbow.
I need the whole thing.
I need all of it.
You can't share an armrest with a stranger.
I've shared multiple armrests with strangers.
Oh, that's weird.
That's a bit too intimate for me.
And that is not.
First in best dress.
The second they reach for their water, you're in.
You're on the armrest and then you're there.
But surely the person in the middle deserves at least one armrest.
Otherwise, they're just sitting there hunched forward a little bit.
I don't know.
I mean, I'm not going to fight with someone over the armrest,
but I'd definitely be putting my seat back.
You lost that one.
You lost that fight, Laura.
Okay.
Well, I'm glad that you're on my side because for a little while there,
I thought that maybe this was just, like, maybe this was a thing.
Maybe on short flights, you're not supposed to recline your seat.
Maybe it's a bit rude.
Nah, bro knows he's got long legs.
That's on him.
All right.
That's us done for the week, guys.
That is it.
But we do have an amazing podcast episode coming up.
So for anybody who has watched The Tinder Swindler, who wants to know more, we have
the full interview with both the girls and it's truly an amazing chat.
Finding out not just about what's happened on the docuseries, but finding out so much
more about what the ins and outs of the story, the little bits and pieces that didn't make
it to air.
Yeah, we do have Cecilia and Peniela joining us and it's absolutely an amazing interview.
So if you haven't watched The Tinder Swindler yet, quickly do your homework, watch it and
then tune in to Life Uncut Podcast on Tuesday for the full interview.
And that is it from us, guys.
Thanks for tuning in.
Don't forget to tell your mum, tell your dad, tell your dog,
tell your friends and share the love because we love love.
Don't you feel sorry for everyone sitting in their car listening to that
at the end of a show?
I'm pretty sure we just harmonised.
