Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi guys and welcome back to another episode of Life Uncut. I'm Laura. I'm Brittany. And this is our Off Cuts episode where we bring you the num num num num nums that Keisha's actually bringing in. Keisha, stop eating! We have to get out of here at 45. I'm hungry. Yes, we all just ate in our lunch break except Keisha. I didn't get a lunch break. They work to the bone here. Your chips has been here as long as our wraps and chips and we all ate. Poor Keish. Although you did that was a really well-timed little nom nom
Starting point is 00:00:36 nom. It is a delicious episode that's going to get you into the weekend. If you also have some hot chippies like Keish does, enjoy them. Sit back, relax. This is all the content that we wanted to talk about on the main episodes this week, but it didn't make it. So we talked about it in the group chats instead and here we are.
Starting point is 00:00:52 I'm kicking off with, you may have heard earlier in the week. This is not news. This wasn't a headline, but it was in our life. It was slander. It was a headline in my life. You may have heard earlier on the main episode, we made a bit of a joke. It was a joke, but also it wasn't a joke. I had organized.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Brittany's crying inside. I'd organized like a little dinner with a few different groups of friends to come together. It's like a farewell dinner, right? Like I'm only going for a couple of months. Farewell is a stretch, but it was like, hey, let's just have a quick dinner before I go. Everyone forgot it was on. You asked for presents. You said, why did no one bring me a farewell present?
Starting point is 00:01:23 No one RSVP'd to my invitation that I sent out by Carrie. No. And so I'd booked a dinner and I was upset jokingly slash not jokingly. I was like, guys, how did you all forget that it was my farewell dinner? And I was like, you guys better make it tonight. Anyway, we get to the restaurant. You guys didn't forget. I forgot.
Starting point is 00:01:39 I didn't even book a table. I did not book a table for six people at the busiest restaurant that you need to book months in advance for. Can I say there was a little bit of me that felt self-validating in this because like we all said yes and we were there and I would never miss it. I might forget, but I will never miss it. But the thing is, the only discussion that was had was one message which said, hey, are you guys free on this date? And we were like, yeah, of course. Yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:02:00 And then I said, lock it in. Okay, but then wait for it. Most people, most people send the confirmation booking screenshot or we share a combined calendar on TimeTree where you literally put in every Botox appointment you've ever had. Why don't you put dinner in there? What do you mean every Botox appointment? I've had it 21 times.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Like I've got your hairdresser appointment in my calendar, but you didn't put dinner in there i'm getting a lot of gaslighting here i'm not the problem i'm setting myself up for failure here what i can say is i did book it and i know i did but it didn't go through because you know when you're booking it their fault no because i even typed in you know because you book online and there was is even a section where it's like is it a special occasion and they have like anniversary birthday whatever else they even have business celebration then they have other and I know that I went to book it because I even typed in other and I wrote farewell moving country I even wrote it in there and then obviously you press confirm and I know
Starting point is 00:02:58 when I did I was in the car so I reckon I've hit confirm driven off I assumed it went through and it did so it's like yes did I not follow through with it but I did attempt to book it anyway on top of that I don't know what's happening they squeezed us in it was fine we were in the corner in a cute little it was perfect yeah we met some lifers oh we did meet the lifers we met some lifers which was really cool they're from perth but then a couple of days before i drove 40 minutes to my hairdresser appointment turned up and they all just sort of looked at me and you know when you have that moment where you're like i'm not supposed to be here am i they all looked at me weird and i looked around and i was like is alex here he's the owner of my hairdresser they're like no he's
Starting point is 00:03:40 off today and I was like is Lauren here she's like my other hairdresser they're like no she's off today too I said I'm not in the system am I they had a look they're like why are you here I was like I don't know I just my brain was like off you go to your hair appointment what I'm getting from this is that you need to start putting things in the calendar and then checking the calendar and that's coming from someone who's undiagnosed ADHD no it was in the calendar but I made it up it was in there I entered it that's why I went and so I don't know I do you know what I think it's just how busy we've been trying to get me out of the country it's like we've been trying to like fucking get ahead of records and my brain's just frazzled my brain's frazzled anyway
Starting point is 00:04:13 well we had a lovely dinner i'm gone by now and now showing more confirmation though that it is actually a you problem it isn't it isn't no it isn't me i'm taking ownership something's wrong with me i'm having a we're speaking to joe and mcnally recently and i was saying i'm having a crisis like something in my brain's malfunctioning and i can't work out what it is is it because we use ai too much i don't know i don't think it is because i don't think you use it that much i think this is just you, but that's okay. We love you anyway. Have a great time in Italy. Anyway, farewell Brit. I'm having sex right now. I'm having sex. Okay. Well, look, we do have plenty of things that we were obsessed with this week. Firstly. Okay. We probably should stop referring
Starting point is 00:04:49 to the Wednesday episode as the main episode. Cause it kind of makes all the other episodes feel like peasants. They're all equally important. This one is just as important as the main episode, but these are things that sometimes we can't agree on what to speak about. There might be like a topic that Brit's really passionate about and I'm just like not quite there. or there's a topic that I'm really passionate about and Brit's not quite there. And I just want to kick it off because I think the topic that we're all super passionate about is men's jiggings. Yeah, this is my most passionate moment this week. And do you know what? And it's so weird that it got vetoed from the main episode. It shouldn't have been vetoed.
Starting point is 00:05:21 I think it's really important. Basically, I thought about this the whole time that Mavs was just being filmed. Obviously, we were working on the Mavs after the dinner party, But I didn't know it was going to be a topic. I just knew how I felt. A real theme of Mavs, besides the toxicity, a real theme was jeggings. Like every man at the dinner parties and every time they went out and they got dressed up, they were wearing like really tight, are they chinos? Like a bit short, like a bit shorter than chinos.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Very tight fitted jeans. Well, they're not jeans though because they are pants. I think, yeah, they're a kind of chino. They're almost like fake denim. So it looks like denim, but they're stretched because they're really tight. Like these are strapped to these guys' thighs. And some of them are just a linen that look like they've got a little bit of stretch in them as well.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Like a little bit of an elastic, potentially like an elastic thread. However, I think the word you're looking for or phrase you're looking for is water in the room. Yes. I hate that. And you know what? I, sorry, David, if you're listening to Life Uncut, David from Mavs. I love David.
Starting point is 00:06:19 David's a legend, but he's too big and muscly for jeggings. He wears them. When he delivered his vows to Alyssa at the end and he walked away and it was supposed to be dramatic and the music was playing and it was moody, all I could look at were his jeggings. And I was like, why are you wearing those? You're too muscly. Do you know what I hate even more than the fact that they're too tight,
Starting point is 00:06:37 which I very much agree with the fact they are too tight, guys. Just buy them in the size up. I know that you think your quads look good. You look like a ballerina. They're too short. They're ankle freezers. It's the whole look of the tight pant, the gap of the ankle, and the no socks with shoes.
Starting point is 00:06:52 clearly none of us are stylists and they are styled by people so I think that they must be coming back in fashion but there is something really like inhumane about being dumped by a man and a pair of jeggings like totally like of all the things with his ankles out how dare you dump me when I can see your ankles for all of us rejected you have the audacity to dump me and you've got your fucking ankles out hey who do you think you are it might be a touchy subject for me because Ben accidentally got married in jeggings because he sent his tuxedo to the dry cleaners in Bali and they shrunk the morning of the wedding.
Starting point is 00:07:26 So I remember seeing a little bit of ankle, a little bit too much ankle when I was walking down the aisle and I'm scarred because I just, I believe in a solid Chino. Like I love a man that's on a yacht. I was going to say I love men on a yacht. Let me set the... Brittany, maintaining relatability. No, but I was going to say, I think in context
Starting point is 00:07:45 and if it's placed right. So like if you're on a yacht and you've got your boat pants on and your boat shoes and your chinos are cropped, but they're not skin tight, it works. And I think it's hot. And this isn't any shade on just the maths people. It's shade because I hate that this is coming back into fashion. It's come full circle and it's not just maths. All men are starting to slowly bring it back in, but it's not for me.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Can I just say though, the first person to call this out is our beloved fashion critical. So she was the first person to post on her page saying like, if there is one word that encapsulates the men on this season of maths it's jeggings and someone else wrote with skin-tight pants a tick box on the application form some people complained about them being two sizes too small and someone else wrote who genuinely thinks this is a good look my only issue with this and maybe i'm taking this a little bit deep would we be offended if there was three men sitting on a podcast somewhere talking about like any type of women's clothing coming back into fashion no because i always i also talk about women's clothing too low-rise jeans please for the love
Starting point is 00:08:41 of god don't don't do it my labia can't handle it how dare you it needs to go up to the umbilical or not at all like right now my jeans look at that they're under my boobs look at that not intentionally but like look i'm like how are you i think i would be devastated if like skin tight what do they call skinny leg jeans came back for women i know that we held on to them for dear life as like millennial women they were long gone and we were still holding on and then finally we released them and now we wear mum jeans and that's cool and it's relaxed and like i do also feel like it's my full identity is to wear flared mum jeans but I don't think I will be okay if it comes back I actually think my uterus is too big to handle a pair of skinny leg jeans now after three kids
Starting point is 00:09:20 and also you need room for the labia they have to be loose what are we gonna do stuff them in you'll be able to see them pick a side I'll look like Heidi Klum how she wore that did anyone see that leather dress at the Grammys no so she wore this dress and it was like basically like an artist fashion designer had taken a cast of her body like a naked cast of her body then they'd gotten leather and they'd overlaid it and then they use latex to try and color it the same color as the skin to make it look like a naked dress and she's amazing but if you see a video of this it doesn't leave even though it's not a nude dress it doesn't actually leave much to the imagination like she can't sit down in it when she's standing like you can see the the bulge of
Starting point is 00:09:58 her vagina you can see like her nipples and there's something about this that I was like good on you for being so near nude, I could never. Imagine me with a labia dress on. I mean, Heidi Klum can wear whatever she wants. It's not for me personally, but that's good. I will take flight. Laura's has a train. Yeah, mine.
Starting point is 00:10:16 A labia. Like a cape. Mine has a trail and it's just still part of it. People are like, I love the addition to your dress. Thank you. Thanks so much. Don't ask any questions. Don't look too close.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Something I wanted to talk about, which I came across this on social media and it's a bit of a niche one but it's business related and I found it really fascinating now you guys know who Jo Malone is Jo Malone the company they create candles they create fragrances Keisha you're shaking your head you've never heard of Jo Malone prior I hadn't previously but when um when you said Jo loves the candle brand I do know that brand no so Jo Malone is the overarching company Jo Malone is also a person she's a fragrance uh I don't know what you call them like a fragrance artist like she creates scents she creates perfumes i know that that has a very specific name a nose aren't they a nose maybe she's got one no they're called a
Starting point is 00:11:08 no in the frames what they call the nose and they need to go and be able to smell the perfumes and they have to reset it with coffee then they go do more smelling no i think a nose is not the person who creates perfumes though i think she's a perfumer so she's a perfumer right there is something that okay sorry due to their highly trained sense of smell blah blah they are often referred to as a nose or a nez in french no i've been to many perfume factories in my life once in france play on play on as you were i do i've got a nose i also have a nose very cultured and so does joe malone so back to her so joe malone is a company joe malone company pty ltd she's also a person as i've established right she is the perfumer now back in 1999 joe malone sold her
Starting point is 00:11:48 brand, her company. So in selling her company, Jo Malone, Jo the perfumer went on to start a new company after her non-compete time had ended, which was 2011. And it's called Jo Loves. Now this is where it gets interesting. So Jo Loves has entered into a collaboration with Zara. This is a few years old now. I think it's about seven years old that they've been creating perfumes as part of this collab between Jo Loves and Zara. But that Jo Loves collab is actually called Jo Malone x Zara or Zara x Joe Malone, right? Joe Malone the company is now suing Joe Malone the person for using her name in a copyright infringement case because what Joe Malone the company is saying is that it leans on their intellectual property as a brand and as a company
Starting point is 00:12:33 that she has gone ahead and started another collab. It creates confusion around the brand name. The thing that I find fascinating about this and what I wanted to ask you about is there's a really interesting Instagram that Jo Malone, the perfumer, has put up on her socials talking about this case and talking about the legal battles that she's now facing and so is Zara against her original company that she sold. But if you sell a company that is named after your name, who then owns the name? I would say that you have given up your right to use your personal name and your identity on future business endeavors. As much as it's murky and it's tricky, I still see them as two separate things because the business is joe malone pty ltd i imagine because that's the business
Starting point is 00:13:19 right the company it's a company she sold that but she is still joe malone like she's still a human and now she is just working as a human on another collaboration so i mean and i don't know how this panned out at all but it's interesting because i can see both sides i can see why the company is like you sold your rights this is confusing but i if it was me i'd say yeah but i sold you britney Hockley PTY LTD, which is a business. Now I'm just Brittany Hockley that wants to go and work with Keisha Pettit. Do you know what I mean? So I can see both sides. I can see why the company's like, what the hell, this is infringement. And I can see why she's saying it's still who I am as a person. And I'm not trading as that company anymore. It's just my name that I was born with
Starting point is 00:14:00 on a birth certificate. So I agree with that, but I kind of, when I watched this play out and I, of course I feel for Joe Malone in this, the person, because I was like, now you've lost your sense of identity. You've lost the, I guess, the currency of which you have operated under for so long, which is that you have built a brand and a following around your name. But I also kind of sided with the perfume company that purchased it because the reason why they purchased it for whatever value it was sold for, I actually don't know those figures off the top of my head. They purchased that name and they also purchased all of the copywriting that goes with it. And they purchased the brand safety and they also purchased the customer trust in doing that.
Starting point is 00:14:38 so by her continuing to use her name and doing collabs creating perfumes all that does is it creates a sense of dishonesty in the marketplace because people who aren't aware of this court case aren't aware that joe malone the company is different to joe malone the person all they see is the name which is now like a household name you know for want of a better phrase they see that name and they instantly think it is in and of the same thing so she is still using i guess the ip that she created over here that's now owned by someone else to continue to grow a new business that's directly competing with the business that she sold i understand why it's a problem for the business i do too and i think that this is even layered more by the fact that zara is
Starting point is 00:15:16 a more accessible price point totally it's like a direct competitor if you've paid this exorbitant amount of money and i'm i'm very rarely the one who sides with big business but if you have paid this really large amount of money for those things, like for the Jo Malone brand. And then all of a sudden, like a couple of years later, people are able to access, I guess, like the reputation of that brand in a much cheaper way. People are going to be inclined to go and get the cheaper version rather than what you purchased this brand for. I also question, I actually think that there was a strategy behind this. And I think Jo Malone was very aware of what she was doing and probably thought that there was a way to get around this. Because when she started her
Starting point is 00:15:57 new perfume company, it's called Jo Loves. So if you're going to do a collaboration with Zara, why wouldn't you call that Zara X Jo Loves? Why are you calling it Zara X Jo Malone? And yes, you can kind of have the argument and the debate, but that's just my name. It is just your name, but it's also now the name of a multi, multi-million dollar company that's been purchased off you and a company that you don't own the IP to anymore. Made me think of Samantha Wills. And I don't know if you guys remember this, like Samantha Wills, she was actually our very first interview that we ever did on Life Uncut. She owned an incredible jewelry empire, Australian based, but it also skyrocketed across the
Starting point is 00:16:34 US. The stranglehold that those rings, the massive, like the rock ring and the earrings. Oh, the stranglehold that they had. If you had one of those rings, you were fucking cool. You're a fashion icon. Now look, Samantha faced this exact problem. So she had a multi, multi-million dollar company, which she could have sold. There would have been people lining up the door to buy Samantha Wills, the company.
Starting point is 00:16:57 But she realized that by selling that, she sold her name. And I think that this is why people, so many people now have to really weigh up the decision making around naming a company after yourself rather than naming a company something that if the opportunity to sell comes up, that you could willingly part with. And it's an interesting debate because I think that once you name a company your own name, unfortunately you lose a bit of the right to use it in the future well she went on to say I sold a company I did not sell myself where do I go from here who can I be I can't stop being a person nobody can stop being the character and the person that you are yeah I'm interesting to
Starting point is 00:17:35 see how it's going to go like she's been served she's going to court because I'm on a fence I don't know I don't know I get both sides and I want to be on the little person's side I want to be like hells yeah you made bank and then you're still making bank because you can like through a legal loophole I would hate to see a company as big as these companies suing somebody like one woman for moving on and using just the name she's born with having said that if she's proven wrong and she did sign a life away then like that's unfortunate for her I'll be interested to see I think and I'm going off like literal gut feel and also just my small understanding about business and naming and like registering copywriting you think she's done for I don't think that she will
Starting point is 00:18:13 be able to use it I think that the legalities around copywriting and your intellectual property as a company are pretty strong and they're pretty airtight and I think you know we've seen it with the Katy Perry case that popped up where a woman was told that she couldn't use her own name because it infringed on Katy Perry's copyright she had a dress label and it's the confusion to customer I actually think that she might get done for copyright infringement here but look it's an interesting space and I think it does raise a very very fascinating question because if she wins this case it will open up the floodgates for every other creator who's ever sold their name and their company to be able to start something in their own name again is what it's going to do.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Food for thought. All right. Well, more food for thought. I want to talk to you about some scientific research, a headline that grabbed my attention where I thought, are we really here? Listen to this headline. Science says this is the male G-spot and no, it is not where you think. Now this goes on to be a full article. For decades, scientists had seen the prostate as a trigger for male orgasms but has neglected to identify this very spot on the proverbial pleasure map until now the reason that i even got into this is it's a study by the university of santiago in spain and i thought hang on we're doing another study the men have already got a g-spot we know
Starting point is 00:19:31 where the g-spot is we've talked about it for years we're doing another study to find out if they have any other g-spots for their pleasure let's find more before we're looking at things like endometriosis, PCOS, anything to do with sexual reproduction. Do we think that man's pleasure has been researched enough? Do you think we have enough information around the pleasure of men and how to make men happier in this world? You know what I find really funny? So I spent a year and a half in, I actually crossed two different research labs. This is in my like prior life. I've got an honors in biomedical science and I spent a little bit of time in a research lab. Getting a grant to do medical research is so hard. Like the amount of work
Starting point is 00:20:10 that goes in for like the proposals and all that kind of stuff to take to people to be like we are worthy of you giving us literally hundreds of thousands to potentially millions of dollars it's like so massive and so I'm thinking about who actually would have put this together and being like do you know what we need more of we just need to make sure that there's not only just one and then on the other side too because we found one in women so we need another there's Someone on the other side who has gone, yes, I want to give you all of my money just to see, just to try and work out whether in fact there is more than one. Do you know why though? The reason why this has been done is because men's pleasure is such a huge
Starting point is 00:20:51 financial industry. I mean, like think about how much money is like poured into porn or it's poured into sex toys or it's porn. Pleasure, and in particular men's pleasure for so long, has been such a viable industry. We only put money into research topics that are going to end up getting something back for us. And I'm sure that there are many different businesses or, I mean, I can't think of any on top of my head, but that would endorse this type of research, you know, because it's got to be backed by somewhere. The money's got to come from something. And I'm like, what are you getting out of this? After years of searching, years, after years of searching, scientists in Spain have finally found the male G-spot, discovering that this so-called erogenous
Starting point is 00:21:28 zone is far away from where they suspected. So let's not do the breast cancer research. Let's not do anything that actually matters or that might help somebody even even just like testicular cancer something that's warranted like do we really need to find another pleasurable spot on a man but do you want to know where it is yeah i still want to know do we want to know do men deserve us to spread this knowledge okay it is in an obscure region called the frenular delta now no wonder they couldn't find it it sounds like what is it down from the triangle no that's Where the women's G-spot is because no man can find it. Apparently it is like a little obscure spot on the underside
Starting point is 00:22:06 of the penis where the head meets the shaft. It's kind of like a guitar string. So you know under your tongue, if you lift up your tongue and you've got that bit that kind of connects your tongue to the base of your mouth? That's the G-spot. Since when? No, it's the penis version of that.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Oh, sorry. Like where's the picture? Oh, it's right in there. So like just put that up on YouTube. Get us cancelled. Anyone wants to know how to pleasure a man? If that doesn't get us taken down off of YouTube, I'll be pissed off. I've been taken down for having a nipple there before.
Starting point is 00:22:36 I've always wondered if that's how you do it. Just rub that spot. Can we rub it in the same way that a man furiously rubs a clitoris? Can we do the same thing to that and see what happens? I'll try it out on that tonight. I don't know if this is from like a previous Dolly sealed section or something, but I have seen content about this before about how guys tend to like if you lick back and forth the frenulum.
Starting point is 00:22:55 No, just me. No, that is the frenulum. So, like, obviously it's always felt good, but there's never been the research, Keisha. So now we can say that it's been researched. Thank God it's been validated. For all this time, false news has been spread across the internet. Keisha's just licking frenulums all over the place. Also, what guy's going to go, hey, want to hit the frenulum?
Starting point is 00:23:14 Hey, could you just rub my frenulum? Okay, but you know what? This is like a part of this. We did lead you down the path of a bit of false news with this. It's not so much that men have two G-spots now. it's that this the frenulum g-spot is replacing the prostate because the prostate you know that we've all been told that if you stimulate the prostate that's the g-spot apparently that's actually not where it is it's like we've been lied to for a really long time so thank god they
Starting point is 00:23:38 got to the end of that no they're saying they're equal they're just saying they get more bang for their buck it is still classified as a g-spot this is the they're saying it's the equivalent imagine if you go for a double whammy from both ends you guys might have seen that brooks nader now she is a sports illustrated swimwear model she's 29 years old she's just been cast in the new baywatch is that correct am i giving this this information right about her she's a yeah she's a very big american influencer she started as a model but then she has her own family reality tv show called love thy nader because their last name is nader she was on dancing with the stars where she did pretty well i think she came out
Starting point is 00:24:16 somewhere in the middle yeah well this is kind of where this story takes an interesting turn now dancing with the stars is also where she was paired with her professional expert his name is gleb sevchenko they ended up dating off the back of dancing with the stars they were apparently having like quite the romantic time whilst the season was playing out they kept it no secret and then after that their relationship followed on well they also talk about the fact that she had requested when they cast her on dancing with the stars she requested like the slimiest sleaziest version of a dancer they had she requested that and then they paired her with him which i don't know how you feel if you were him but they have openly said that they were
Starting point is 00:24:54 intimate the day that they met so like it was on like donkey kong from the day that they were paired together yeah and like i said she's never been secret about that it's been very public that they shared a relationship so not only have they been public when they've been together but in breaking up brooks has come out and said on her own reality tv show that gleb had cheated on her now we haven't and like we looked for it there's not actually any proof of this cheating it's her word against his but she very much spoke about the fact that this has happened Gleb is now currently on another reality tv show and that's where this gets interesting so it's a youtube reality show called Unwell Winter Games which is part of Alex Cooper's network and he's been speaking about his
Starting point is 00:25:33 sexual relationship with Brooks when they were together now I want to set the scene for this So there is this scene at the end of one of the episodes and he is playing Paul with Dakota Mortensen, who is Taylor Frankie, Paul's ex-boyfriend. We spoke about him recently on an episode. They obviously had a very volatile relationship, right? So Gleb's talking about the sex that him and Brooks used to have. And he had this to say. Maybe Brooks is a little more crazy. You said it.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Bro, when I dated her, it was pretty bad. I've been wearing sex in my life. Wait, how long have you been actually? Like seven months, maybe. She chipped my tooth. How? She was so fucked up. She wanted to make out with me and I was like, that's not my vibe.
Starting point is 00:26:18 She choked me, pushed me again with the wall, chipped my tooth. Now we've been unpacking this ourselves and the question came up, is it ever okay to talk publicly about your sex life with an ex? We all seem to have slightly different feelings about it. And I think that the context of how this has come up is quite important. it's a tricky one because he said that she has given him the worst sex of his life and that's something that's been widely reported this week across like all publications but then it's the context of why it was the worst sex of his life that I think brings us into a bit of icky territory
Starting point is 00:26:50 when I first saw it I thought gross I was like gross that's so wrong and it's such a violation like you don't get to go on a show and a network as big as this and I say as big as this because it's Alex Cooper's production company. She is huge. Every show she touches is huge. She's producing reality TV now. And this show has been produced to be very controversial and drama filled. They have chosen controversial people to put in. That's not me saying that. Like that's when you go and look up what the show is. That's the whole point. It's also why Dakota, who's Taylor's ex is on the show. And so when I first saw it, I thought it was really gross. And Laura and I and Keisha have been discussing it. Is it any different if she's publicly going on a show
Starting point is 00:27:31 and saying things that can be damaging to him like he's cheated on me. For me, I feel like it is very different. It would be different if the context and the setting was different. But it's a set-up scene. They're playing pool. The cameras are ready. They're both reality TV-versed. They know how this works.
Starting point is 00:27:49 They're two bros. They're ladding out. They have sat down to have this conversation intentionally. They haven't fumbled their way there. It's not a deep private conversation where something's been overheard. No, it's a strategy. It's a set-up. it's for engagement and it absolutely has a purpose and they've sat down to say something
Starting point is 00:28:05 that is extremely damaging to say that somebody was a with the worst sex i've ever had b that they were violent and it's essentially calling it domestic violence without saying those words like you're saying it was so bad she was so violent she had me against the wall she chipped my tooth yet i wonder have you ever gone and made a report about that if that is an issue because the context of the way he's saying it he's not saying it like it was damaging in a toxic relationship he's just saying it as if he's talking to a lad like she's fucking cooked like that is the energy I got it just seems to me like the pure soul intention of it was to humiliate and damage her and I'm not saying that she's all right to go and say that she's cheated but from the
Starting point is 00:28:47 outset when I look at this a woman saying that my partner cheated on me is very different to a man going on a TV show naming her and then saying things like it was the worst sex I've ever had and throwing accusations around like she was violent. I view those things as two separate things. And I think in this situation, I think it was unacceptable and unwarranted. And I think it was done purely for clicks. I agree. I do think it was done for clicks. I think it was done as a strategy. I think he had an intention to cause harm and to damage her reputation. But I also think that she had a prerogative to damage his reputation by throwing around the cheating allegations I actually think that they're both playing the same game and that's probably why
Starting point is 00:29:28 I don't feel the same level of sympathy either way in this instance and for this specific case now when she accused him of cheating it was on her reality tv show once again massive views she holds the power in that dynamic she doesn't have to prove that he's cheated she just said it everyone all of her followers all of her stands would have attacked him he actually sued her for making these accusations public. So it did have reputational damage to him. It's a defamation of sorts because we do hold this incredibly high morality towards cheating. On the flip side, he is now on a reality TV show and he gets his opportunity to slander her. And when I first read the articles that came out, the articles were implying that he was just kind of saying that
Starting point is 00:30:11 the sex was gross. Like, oh, she's the worst sex. And I was like, fucking how dare you? How dare you get on here and critique someone's like sexual efforts you know and that's what I actually thought it was when I went to watch it that's what I was expecting I was expecting him to like be like she was a starfish fucking loser like you know I was expecting this real I think like performance evaluation of her sex and then when I listened to it and he was like it was the worst sex basically he said she was fucked up and then he said it wasn't my vibe to make out but what I interpret that when you actually watch the video he was like she was so drunk she was trying to make out with me and I didn't want to make out with her because she was so drunk. Then she choked
Starting point is 00:30:48 me. She chipped my tooth. All of this. We don't know if it's true. We don't know if any of this is true. It could be completely defamatory. It could also be completely true. I guess the big thing that I take home from it is that the place that these conversations should play out certainly shouldn't be on reality TV for clicks. And they've both done it for the same thing. They've both done it to try and destroy the other person's reputation. Do you know what I think is different though, and where the gender disparity comes in is if you think about, you know, a woman accusing a man of cheating, like what she's stabbing there is the fact that a lot of women feel betrayed by cheaters. Absolutely. And we think of it, like you said, bad morally. What he's attacked is her
Starting point is 00:31:30 sexual currency. You know, like she is viewed as one of the sexiest women. She's obviously very famous because she was a swimsuit model and blah, blah, blah. And so if he was to say, oh, you know, she cheated on me. It's not even going to have 10% of much of the impact because a lot of men would be like, yeah, whatever. Like who cares? I still think she's hot. But if he comes out and says she was the worst sex of my life, she's so crazy. She's all of these things that actually reduces her kind of sexual currency in a way. And I think it was even more interesting played off the back of the conversation with Dakota. Dakota was doing the exact same thing to Taylor Frankie Paul. And he was saying she was totally crazy, man. Like, you know, she lied to me. She
Starting point is 00:32:09 went and fucked some other guy and then she came back and she slept with me and the two of them had an exchange where he was like well that's why she came back because you had better d i found out she was talking to another guy hooked up with him then hooked up with me did you know that she hooked up with a guy no she lied to me then had sex with me and then after tells me and i was like the fuck the sex was better with you so fuck it yeah yeah that's why she came back yeah and so She came back for a good D. Yeah, for a good D, exactly. Yeah, it's a gross combo.
Starting point is 00:32:42 It's just intended to humiliate, but I think it is actually quite interesting to see the weapons of which they choose to humiliate each other because they're different and they're based off of gender stereotypes and the way that we kind of view sexuality in each other. I completely agree. But what I think they share similarly,
Starting point is 00:32:59 and the reason why I was apprehensive around how to approach this conversation, I think that they both are completely in the wrong. and I think that they've used weaponry to go after each other's character but they've used that as reality tv fodder and because it's no longer in the context of anything else like he's not sharing that because he is a victim he's sharing that because he knows it's going to get clicks she's not sharing the cheating because she's necessarily a victim she's sharing it because she knows it's going to get clicks she knows it's reputational damage I'm not trying to say that
Starting point is 00:33:31 they're both as bad as each other in terms of the content of what they're sharing but what they're doing is as bad as each other because they are using the most vulnerable and volatile parts of their relationship true or not to reputationally damage each other and I think the thing that is quite interesting about him is like I would feel more angry I think at him if what he had shared was performance-based but because it brings into this kind of like question around whether or not someone is allowed to share a sexual experience that's actually been like pretty fucked up for them like who are we to say you can't share that like he does have a right to share it but it's the way in which he shared it that's the problem if she did actually chip his tooth choke him and
Starting point is 00:34:13 force herself on him when he's been like hey you're drunk and I don't want this like that's fucking gross it's the context of which he's chose to share it that makes it a problem and that's the reason why we're discussing if she didn't do it because there is zero proof if she didn't do it that is extremely damaging that is far more damaging than someone cheating on somebody else i know brit but i worry about that sentiment and i'm not saying it's because it's gendered right it's because he's the one who's saying that he experienced this violence we would never say that to a woman well if that didn't happen think about his reputation like she can't say that about sexual violence people do say that totally but it doesn't hold as much weight and i i'm very careful
Starting point is 00:34:53 because i don't want to like err into the territory of being like think of the men we know that the statistics are that more women experience domestic and sexual violence we know that more men are perpetrators like we even know in the case of taylor frankie paul you can be a perpetrator and a victim right we've discussed that yeah i think that the intention is what's really different here though he's not sharing this being like hey just so you guys know like even when you're in a relationship with someone who is super attractive and you might love them you can still experience elements of violence sexually like you know as a man i experienced this particular thing he's not sharing it to spread the word and to kind of make that more normalized. He's spreading it simply to
Starting point is 00:35:32 humiliate her. And I think that, you know, in terms of the rules around what you are and aren't allowed to do on reality TV and in the public sphere, that has obviously evolved a lot over the last couple of years. For me, talking about the specifics of a sexual relationship are okay, as long as the person's not identifiable. My own set of standards is that if you can identify who that person is and just speaking about it in a negative way it's pretty off limits this is a toxic situation they're in a toxic relationship the thing that's the most toxic is that they use their life as currency for clicks and engagement and ultimately they use each other as weaponry for clicks and engagement they've done it both ways and maybe like once again coming back to
Starting point is 00:36:14 this idea that the reason why i don't have this overarching deep sympathy for either of them is because they both know what they get out of reputationally damaging the other person and how that's advantageous to their careers their reality shows and people's investment in them because ultimately when it comes to a reality show we love a love story we love a story that fucking doesn't go well even more though we love the demise of a love story and that's what they've both given us on two separate reality tv shows i don't reckon it's going to end either i reckon this is going to be a vicious circle between them apparently people have reached out to her reps for comment off the back of this at the time of us recording this and she hasn't commented yet but
Starting point is 00:36:51 i would imagine that is going to change in the coming days but i don't know it's just fucking gross isn't it or your laundry out on reality tv show who would do that we didn't i had no dirty laundry to air on mine well look guys that is it from us for our little off cuts episode if you have anything for us this week any questions for ask uncut any little tidbits you want to know an aftermath slide into the dms at life uncut podcast you can join in the discussion at life uncut discussion group it's also all on youtube so if you want to see keisha nom nom nom nom away on a little chippies get on there now and go and subscribe we would love for you to join the youtube community because we're really hustling guys we're doing our best you're
