Starting point is 00:00:00 Life Uncut podcast acknowledges the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders, past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. This episode is recorded on Gadigal land of the Aurora Nation. Hi guys and welcome back to another episode of Life Uncut. I'm Laura. And I'm Mitch. And I'm Brittany. I'm Brittany.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Okay, so unfortunately we finished our radio show and we were like, oh, yeah, we're done for the day. Oh, yeah, big job. Good job, everyone. Brittany Hightail out of here. And then we realised we forgot to record this intro. So she's not here. She's gone.
Starting point is 00:00:42 She's dust. I think she had to go do a wee and then we just never saw her again. Yeah, but she did bring brownies today, so that was pretty fucking great. Okay, let's be real now because she's not here. Britt baked brownies and she revealed they were 10-day-old brownies. Did you like them? I enjoyed them substantially more
Starting point is 00:00:58 than when I found out that they'd been sitting in her fridge for ten fucking days have you been to her house that is like there are fruit flies in her kitchen
Starting point is 00:01:04 no hate towards Brit but she's not a cook no no no I do not hold this against Brit because like so I used to live in that apartment
Starting point is 00:01:11 oh yeah that apartment is infested with fruit flies oh so they're from you why did you admit it and cockroaches I think I was the disgusting one no they've never left
Starting point is 00:01:21 they've always been there and it's been an issue it is true And we're in a rental crisis, so what do you do? Take the fruit flies. Listen, it is a very big show. We have a lot going on this week. We can't even remember what we talked about.
Starting point is 00:01:32 No, we can. Oh, how could you forget this? The bride that walked in on her groom, her husband-to-be, suckling on his mother's teat on their wedding day. I cannot believe that this is true. I cannot believe that there is a 35-year-old man out there who is still being breastfed. I can't believe that there's a 55-year-old woman
Starting point is 00:01:51 that can produce milk still. Isn't that the more shocking thing? Isn't it barren after babies are born? No. Okay, so we got my girlfriend on who's a midwife and she gave us the real ins and outs. We also talked to Conrad Sewell who has a new album coming out this week. He was fun and he smelled good.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Another thing that we talked about was maths and the butt dial scandal. There's a lot to this show. It's all coming up. It's all in there. And it's also National Compliment Week where there was a compliment off in the show this week. That won't make it into this. But I love you, Mitch.
Starting point is 00:02:20 You did a great job. Do you cut me out? I've never actually listened back to this. It was a top of hour. We never include top of hours in the podcast, Brooks. Whenever I see friends, I go, oh, did you guys listen to Life Uncut? They go, yeah, never heard you though. They always say that.
Starting point is 00:02:31 I'm the cut from Life Uncut. I get cut. We would never cut you. Thank you. We love you. I love you. You're the third pillar. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:02:37 You're the propeller that keeps us moving. You're the wind beneath my wings. Good reference. All right, anyway, guys, let's get into it. You would have seen over the weekend, ladies, the beautiful estate funeral that Melbourne threw for Olivia Newton-John. Wasn't it so special? but I don't think that there was a dry eye in the house watching that.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I just think back to, I mean, you've never heard one bad word ever about Olivia and John. Anyone you speak to, anyone that talks about it, just says she was literally like a real life angel. But I think for our generation, I'm speaking on behalf of you, Laura, but it was Sandy in Greece. That was when we were teenage years. That's when I feel like I was really introduced to who she was.
Starting point is 00:03:14 And she was just at the top of the game, literally from when we were like 15. Yeah, absolutely. And also just like what an incredible person. You hear from her in her private life, but literally, like you said, Britt, every single person who's worked with her has just said how incredible she is. Well, yeah, that's the thing. So thousands gathered to celebrate Olivia Newton-John.
Starting point is 00:03:32 She did pass away in August last year after a long, long and very hard-fought battle with cancer. It was star-studded, though. There were some messages that came in from overseas. This was a beautiful part. I looked up to her so much, and I loved her songs. And when I got to meet her, she was just as nice. as she was a star.
Starting point is 00:03:51 I had the honor of singing with her several times, and I consider her a great friend as well as a fellow entertainer. And Olivia, to quote one of your songs, I honestly love you. She was an absolute angel. She was one of the kindest, most present, just light-filled beings walking around this earth. No one, of course, more heartbroken that she's no longer with us
Starting point is 00:04:13 than her family. And joining us on the line now is Toddy Goldsmith, Olivia Newton-John's niece. She's here. First of all, thank you for being on the show, Toddy. How are you? I'm good. Hi, Toddy.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Thank you for having me on. It's beautiful to reminisce from such an extraordinary service. Toddy, thousands and thousands of people gathered for the service yesterday. It was so incredible to watch. What was it like for you and your family just to see so many people turn up that loved Olivia? I think when she first passed away and we saw it on a global level, the impact of her really blew us away. We knew that she was amazing and Sandy from Greece and people loved her, but not on the scale. We were being sent front covers of magazines from Italy and Spain and Israel, and it was really mind-blowing.
Starting point is 00:05:05 So yesterday with the service wasn't as mind-blowing because that was extraordinary. And, you know, I was just listening to you talking about no one ever had a bad word to say about her. The world loved her. Yeah, and I feel like everybody feels like they knew her, like everyone feels like she was a friend. That's right, and that's what comes from people when they have deep empathy and lots of love.
Starting point is 00:05:28 It radiates through them and it travels through the television screens from her voice because she was such a pure human being. Her intentions were so honourable and pure. just a really deeply kind human being and everyone felt it so that's why they felt a bond to her she touched into that part of them well i think one of the most beautiful speeches of the night was also given by her husband and i know that i mean it was just such an emotional and moving moment no and this yeah this is what he had to say we're just talking about how lucky we were to have found each other and how in love we were and how much happiness we were experiencing
Starting point is 00:06:13 what was it like in that time when when john got up and said his speech what was the atmosphere like in the room um really quiet you could have heard a pin drop everyone hung off every word because it took people inside the spiritual side of Olivia and the love side and the whole room. It was really interesting when I first walked into Hamer Hall and as people started coming in, the warmth and love in that room was unbelievable and it was gentle.
Starting point is 00:06:45 There were 2,500 people within the room and it was really gentle. How is he holding up? He's amazing. he um when before he went on we were all backstage and i gave him a big long hug and we just held each other and i put my hand on his heart and i said you know we all love you and he said no i feel it and that's what gets me through and he feels her and it's the love of everyone of the world of us talking about it here that resonates into him but it's a lot to lose a soulmate it's
Starting point is 00:07:19 a lot to lose a family member and it's a really lot to lose a soulmate and it's um it's tough and i think he's expressing it so beautifully you know i went to la for liz memorial and he did another version of that speech which was you know about three or four times longer more of the story that we didn't have time for and i could have listened for days because olivia told me things about the amazon she told me about the relationship because we had a really sisterly kind of thing going so i kept hearing about john but the way he worded it the way he encapsulated it and felt it and then expressed it was just beautiful i mean toddy you just mentioned that people around the world that you didn't expect these magazine covers in italy people that were reaching out to
Starting point is 00:08:04 you and we also heard some of the biggest stars in the world mariah carey dolly parton pink yeah Do you think Olivia had any idea herself of the impact that she had in the world and in the entertainment industry? There's a little bit of yes and no. There's a little bit of she understood, you know, she was knighted. She was, you know, honoured here with an Honour of Australia, an AO. And she knew to a degree, but her focus was so on the wellness centre and on a legacy of leaving and helping people.
Starting point is 00:08:38 but I just don't think she really sat down and thought about it a whole lot. But I think when all this happened, I can see her, like we were talking about as a family when she passed and the world just blew up. It was a bit like the Lady Di moment. And we can see, I can see her going, what? Like, really? Me?
Starting point is 00:09:00 Yeah, and giggling. And she would have been crying in a beautiful way with gratitude because she lived in a place of gratitude. That speaks to her love. Everyone had that exact same feeling towards her. I want to ask about the Wellness Centre, the Olivia Newton-John Wellness and Research Centre, because she's leaving behind such a massive legacy
Starting point is 00:09:19 and she spent many of her last years working towards that centre. What's the future for it? Do you guys have plans it'll continue? Yeah, it will. I've been working with Liv on it since before it was a hole in the ground. and she chose me and she knew that I'd step up and she trained me and I did a lot of the walking around the hospital with her, a lot of the background stuff.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I received checks on behalf of her when she couldn't be here. I was her eyes and ears for everything. And she said to me a couple of times, you know, I'm passing you the baton, Blanca. I went, I know. And, you know, it was really, it's very strange. not having her at the hospital. But it's beautiful, you know.
Starting point is 00:10:06 And so anyway, Chloe and I are going out there on Wednesday, but it's really strange her not being there. Oh, Toddy. That will change. You know, I think Australia, the whole world loves her, but it's hearing from somebody who knew her, who got to love her in real life, it's just such a special thing. Thank you so much for coming.
Starting point is 00:10:24 And thank you for sharing. No, you have us in tears. We've been crying every time we've listened or spoken about it this morning. We've all had the tears in our eyes. Yeah. She's an incredible person. Thanks for coming on. Big love to herself and the family.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Thanks for your love of her and supporting the Wellness Centre too. That means an enormous amount. Anytime. Thank you, Toddy. This is Toddy Goldsmith, everyone, Olivia Newton-John's niece. Beautiful. I tell you what, and if you can donate to the Wellness Centre, head online and send some cash because it's doing some great work.
Starting point is 00:10:57 You know we love to talk about Married at First Sight here at the show. I think everyone loves to talk about Married at First Sight because every night there's some wild, crazy scandal. Oh, people love this show. Laurie, you're one of those people. You're a nut. Laura's keeping them afloat. No.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Okay, you guys come for me every week and you're always happy to talk about it, but you always pay me out because I'm the only one who loves to watch it. Oh, I will say, what happened last night with the butt dial saga? I mean, even that has hooked me in. It does hook you. Everyone's talking about it. So Rupert and Evelyn, they're a couple in the experiment. They're together.
Starting point is 00:11:24 And the boys are on a boys' night out. They were getting some beers and talking footy and chicks and politics. Yeah, the boys. Who knows what they were talking about. I don't know, sports. Nothing nice. Well, yes, definitely nothing nice because Rupert accidentally sat on his phone and butt-dialed Evelyn. Oh, a butt-dial is never good.
Starting point is 00:11:40 So Evelyn didn't hang up. What she did was she sat there, she put on speakerphone, and she overheard the boys gossiping. She overheard Dan, who's another guy in the experiment, speaking awful things about his wife, Sandy. And Sandy's quite beautiful. I love Sandy. What Dan was saying was, I don't think she deserves me. Oh, Dan's a flog. Yep, he was saying all my ex-girlfriends in the past were hotter than Sandy.
Starting point is 00:12:01 He was showing them photos of ex-girlfriends saying Sandy will never match or live up to these ex-girlfriends. And the whole time Evelyn was there. If you missed it, hold on, let me play a little bit. This will paint the better picture. This is Evelyn telling Sandy what she's just heard via the butt. Rupert butt dialed me. I could hear the conversations between a couple of the boys very clearly. and they weren't saying very nice things about their wife,
Starting point is 00:12:23 particularly Dan. What was he saying? He was insinuating that he was too good for this experiment and too good for you. What a dickhead. Oh, yeah. No, I'm with you. I agree.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I mean, that's how I feel. I listen to that and I'm like, come on, bro, you're lying to your wife to start with and then you're talking badly about her. There's so many layers to this. I don't like it because Dan was like, he was a nice guy And now they've done a bait and switch and he's turned into a monumental flog.
Starting point is 00:12:52 But the thing is, are they the nice guys? Are they the flogs? It's editing. They are whatever they want us to see. What Channel 9 want us to see is what we get. They can create any character out of anyone. Speaking of editing, though, I have a bit of a conspiracy theory. Oh, yeah?
Starting point is 00:13:05 I just don't think that she was butt-dart. I think the whole thing has been fabricated by producers. Oh, of course. I believe that. I think a producer was there on the boys' night. They overheard it and they were like, how are we going to feed this information back to Evelyn, to somebody who's going to create the drama and tell Sandy
Starting point is 00:13:21 and it just so happened to be in the guise of a butt dial. Of course it's fake. You watch, in like four years there'll be a tell-all and one of them will be like, that actually didn't happen and I'm out of my contract in non-disclosure now. And zero people would be shocked. Okay, as much as I think that producers have completely set this up and this is just a bit of a, you know, smoke and mirrors
Starting point is 00:13:38 of the mass production, I think this must happen. I agree. I think that this has happened to people in the real world where they've been butt dialed by someone and a big secret has come out. let's make it like maths. Let's play some maths-style music. Oh, yeah, the drama.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Because they always have a violin and cello on hand when shit goes down. Do you reckon they pay them more when they have to go to them and say, look, we need you to do us a solid and make up a whole story? We'll slide you $10,000. No, you just get more airtime. Like, Evelyn knew if she came out with this, she would also be framed as the nice person by telling, like, you know, Like the sister code.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Yeah, she's been a real girl code. Yeah, Pete's called through. Pete, Pete, you've been caught out butt-dialing, mate. Welcome to the pick-up. What happened? Well, it actually wasn't me butt-dialing. It was a mate of mine. We had a Christmas party one year, and I couldn't go.
Starting point is 00:14:23 And I get a call at about 8.30 at night, and it's him butt-dialing me. And I pick up the phone, and I hear a conversation talking to a so-called another lady. He's married, and he's got kids. He was talking to another lady, talking about what they're going to be doing to each other. And I'm sitting there going, well, I can hear you. But I went, no, I'm going to grab a bag of chips
Starting point is 00:14:46 and see how long this goes for. How long did you stay on the phone for? You settled on in. 25 minutes. Yes. And did they, I'm guessing when they were talking about what they're going to do to each other, they're not talking about plaiting each other's hair.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Did they get to that point or was it just all very verbal? Well, I didn't hear it because as I was leaving, he must have realised he had me on call and hung up. For 25 minutes. It's hung up, and then the next day we had a dinner party with their family and my family the next night. Did you confront him? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:19 I did. I said, I know what happened, mate. You were on the phone with me for 25 minutes. I heard everything. And he just went white. And I said, look, if you don't tell her, I'm going to tell her. They have to tell her tonight, but you've got to tell her. And did he?
Starting point is 00:15:31 He did, but they're still married after 10 years now. Are you still friends, or did that hurt your friendship? No, no, because, I mean, everyone makes mistakes at the end of the day, like he made a mistake, and the good thing about it, when you walk into his house, his wife's got his little balls in a sack saying they belong to me now. Oh! Wow.
Starting point is 00:15:51 You're a better man than me. Seems like they're into that stuff then. Speaking of butt-dialing, I'm glad I got to the bottom of it. Apologies if I'm a bit dusty today, ladies, because it's Mardi Gras. Is it still Mardi Gras? I feel like you're still looking disheveled. Well, he hasn't gone to bed, so technically it's still Mardi Gras. Good call.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Well, it is World Pride, so it actually lasts for two weeks. So Kylie Minogue and Danny Minogue opened World Pride on Friday night in Sydney at the Domain. I was there. Groundbreaking. It truly changed my life. I'm so sad that we couldn't be there. We went out in Uluru and you were in Sydney getting your party on.
Starting point is 00:16:24 What was it like? Tell us all the details. Oh, my God, it was so amazing. Truly, like, Mardi Gras is such a great time of the year. And if you guys don't know, World Pride is like the Olympics of Mardi Gras. Every year, one city. It's like the Hunger Games, but no one dies. Do you think?
Starting point is 00:16:37 everyone just parties. Well, we hope so. Just with feather bowls instead and a lot of glitter and very few clothing. Yes, yes, yes. So it is kind of like the Hunger Games. Do you think it's getting bigger and bigger every year? Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Do you think the festival has looked online this year like out of control? My Instagram feed was flooded by Mardi Gras. Yeah, it was absolutely massive. Do you know what? I just thought you'd be so stoked. I know that you are such a fan of Stans. You know RuPaul Drag Race?
Starting point is 00:17:01 Oh, RuPaul's Drag Race, of course. You're obsessed with that and I just thought Mitch Turi is living his wildest dreams because I saw footage of you with the drag queens i know so i went from watching the new episode on saturday because they drop saturdays on stand so i watched the new episode of rupaul's drag race and then i went out to the parade and was dancing with queens from rupaul's drag race down under it was like a kid in a candy store and i was trying to be cool i'm like yeah so uh oh what kind of wig is that a lace front wig like i watch so much of it i think i know this thing do you pretend like you don't
Starting point is 00:17:28 know them or do you just are you just like i'm a loser i love you and here i am you pretend you know them but like but be cool yeah because you want them to follow you back on instagram Will you like, like for like, follow for follow? Yes, and they didn't follow me back. Speaking of it getting bigger and bigger every year, this has been truly a remarkable year. Anthony Albanese was there, and he was well and truly getting involved in the festival.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Oh, my God. Have you guys seen the audio of Albo on Oxford Street in Sydney? Albo. Can we play it? Yeah, we'll play this. Keep in mind, I think he's blind drunk. Have a listen to this. I think this is my 35th Mardi Gras.
Starting point is 00:18:00 The first one was 1983. I'm showing my age there. If I first won as Prime Minister, that is a significant moment. It's unfortunate that I am the first, but this is a celebration of modern Australia. We're a diverse, inclusive Australia, and that's a good thing. He is definitely off his chops, isn't he? Like, he's a loose cannon right there,
Starting point is 00:18:25 which I think is really cool to see. But it is history-making. He is the first Prime Minister sitting, standing, walking, moving prime minister yeah to go and attend Mardi Gras how does that feel for you Mitch being queer how does it feel for you to see him there as a as our leader for the very first time I know it kind of feels it was emotional because we've I think this is my opinion we had such a terrible prime minister for the last however many years with Scott Morrison and he did nothing for for queer Australians truly nothing if anything we went backwards so to then have such a 360 and
Starting point is 00:18:59 have Albo marching and not someone who just did it for the act to be interviewed. It's his 35th Mardi Gras. It was beautiful. Well, that's the thing. A lot of people jumped on the bandwagon and were saying, oh, it's performative. He's just doing it because, you know, he's trying to win over the lefties. Oh, yeah. Well, this is the 50th Mardi Gras in Sydney
Starting point is 00:19:15 and 50 years ago, it wasn't a parade. It was a protest because the people that were out there celebrating were protesting because they were being thrown in jail. Fun twist, the jail in Potts Point that they were held is now officially the LGBTQI plus Memorial Museum officially this year.
Starting point is 00:19:31 That is a fun twist. Yeah, isn't it? I didn't know where you were going with that. Yeah, so where they were once held 50 years ago, it is now, you know, you can celebrate and wear arseless chaps. Which is what you did. Which is what we did. I will say, disappointed that Albo wasn't in arseless chaps.
Starting point is 00:19:44 I think that would have been the cherry on the cake. Next year. Yeah, it would have been like a real-life, in-person democracy sausage. No one wants to see that sausage. I do. No, I don't actually. No, I would.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Guys, you know this song. Yeah, Healing Hands, you know this song. They are gifts given to us by the beautiful Conrad Sewell, and he's here now. Here he is. So happy to be here. Over one billion streams. Yeah, it sounds quite impressive, doesn't it?
Starting point is 00:20:16 It sounds good. I also said in slow motion for dramatic effect. One billion. One billion dollars. One billion streams. Yeah. You have a new album out today. Yeah, Precious.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Congratulations. Precious is here. It sure is precious, guys. Taking me a long time to finish. Is this a coincidence that you have released this album? I mean, a dumb question. It's not a coincidence. But it's on your son Memphis' first birthday as well.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Is that today as well? Yes, it is. It's his first birthday and I'm here doing promo. He's with me. So we got to wake up this morning together. At the crack of dawn, no doubt. Crack of dawn, 5.30. Didn't sleep.
Starting point is 00:20:51 No, he sleeps well. He's always been a good sleeper, which is nice. But, yeah, it is. It's definitely. I mean, I was making this album while my partner was pregnant and the whole, just this whole journey I've been on in the industry, it's really about that and it just happens to be out on the day that my baby boy was born.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Oh, that's so good. Now, how has being a dad changed things for you? Because it's such a huge shift in life. Oh, yeah. You go from being a rock star, you're still a rock star, but now you're a dad rock star. How has things changed for you? I mean, it's hard.
Starting point is 00:21:23 It's hard. It's like your life changes so much. And, I mean, I feel like I was very selfish before, I guess. And you don't immediately change when you have a kid. It's not like all the things that are wrong with you go away. It's just you have to, like, adapt. And I guess it teaches you a lot. It makes you grow up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:21:41 And it's put a lot of things into perspective for me, I think. Music was so, like, it's all I ever cared about. And, like I said, you become quite, like, self-consumed. And then all of a sudden this little person comes along and it's like, oh, wow, it's not just about me anymore. That's what I'm scared to do. That's why I can't have a kid. I'm not scared to, like, give up my life.
Starting point is 00:21:58 She's just got a dog that is way more overpowering than a baby ever will be. What can we expect from Precious, the album? What makes it different to anything you've done before? I mean, it's polarisingly different. That's the thing. So I started making this album when I went back to, just before COVID happened, and I went back and I wanted to,
Starting point is 00:22:17 I grew up singing, like, in pubs and bands, and I wanted to make a live, like, rock and roll soul album. and my first album was pretty much songs I'd written over the course of 10 years trying to get signed and then they were demos and they got put on an album. That was my first album. This album, I handpicked every musician from, you know, Zayn Carney, who's John Mayer's guitarist,
Starting point is 00:22:39 to Victor Ndrizzo, who plays with Alanis Morissette, Justin Timberlake's horn section. Like, I had this dream team of a band and we recorded the whole thing live. So it's like, yeah, it doesn't sound like anything that's on the radio. So it's been, I guess, I hope for fans that are listening, they still enjoy it as much as the old stuff.
Starting point is 00:22:57 But it's something that I needed to do. I needed to get out of me. It was like a sort of a passion thing. It's an evolution. Yeah. And I still think, I mean, ultimately it's a pop record, but it's just, you know, it's got crazy guitar solos and it's got, you know, it's more depth to it
Starting point is 00:23:10 than anything that I've ever done before, I think. Well, it's out now. You can get Precious Guys dropped this morning. I do want to talk about the connection that you have with our Laura Byrne because your beautiful baby Memphis, And I don't want to get anyone in trouble when I say this, but Laura was there when he was conceived. At the exact same time.
Starting point is 00:23:25 There's your headline. I wasn't there for the conception, but maybe I was there a couple of hours prior. Yeah. What happened? We were at a wedding together because, yeah, my partner and your partner are cousins. Sorry, no, not cousins.
Starting point is 00:23:38 My best friend is cousins with Maddie. Okay, there's a connection somewhere. We were at the wedding of Matt's cousin. We were at a wedding. We were in a winery. There was a lot of sex time going on. Yeah, I was going to say. I just remember being very reckless at that point in my life
Starting point is 00:23:50 and we were just having a lot of fun and we were just, you know, there was no rules. I guess we were at that point where we were just like, yeah, if it happens, it happens. But then you're like, whoa, it actually happened. Do you know what? It happened. I should have been the contraception for you then
Starting point is 00:24:02 because I was at that wedding with my newborn baby who was screaming bloody murder in the other room and I was dancing on the dance floor with her strapped to me. So that should have been enough for you to abstain. But you made the same mistakes I did. You have to learn those mistakes yourself. Yeah, I remember that house being so boring. Everybody in that house was so boring
Starting point is 00:24:17 And we were just up all night And it was just like Guess that's what happens So you said it happened The night of the wedding The conception I don't know I just know it was around that time
Starting point is 00:24:25 Got it I mean it must have been I was never having so much sex in my life Yes yeah true I'm glad one of us is And Laura was the inspiration behind that Isn't that interesting Well I was like
Starting point is 00:24:34 Once that kid's here It rapidly goes downhill What are you going to do next Because I mean you've toured with Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5 And like you signed When did you sign your first record deal 17
Starting point is 00:24:44 Yeah 17 And I'm 35 At the end of the month It's pretty scary So what do you do next Because you've got the album Do you do it I mean
Starting point is 00:24:51 Yeah I mean That's the thing It's like I'm at that We obviously We're going to tour this album I'm heading back to America To start writing again
Starting point is 00:24:58 And start working on the next You know Bunch of songs For me it's just like This is all I'm ever going to do It's just You know When's the next one
Starting point is 00:25:05 Going to fly Do you know what I mean This is Like I said This album was Something I really wanted to do And I'm so proud of it And I hope that people
Starting point is 00:25:11 Go back and find it For years to come But yeah I mean I've got a kid I've got mouths to feed now, so I guess I've got to go back out there and write another Firestone. You know, you actually had a release that was an unfortunately timed release.
Starting point is 00:25:23 God Save the Queen came out only a few hours before the Queen actually passed away. Yeah. Was that completely coincidence at that time? I don't think he slipped the Queen anything and gone. He's like, this is going to be great. Kill her now. Kill her now.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Do you think she heard it and that's what did it? I think it's a good song, but she's got weird taste. That was just the craziest timing ever I actually had people, like a lot of people Like other musicians and stuff around the world Hitting me about, like, what the You know, like, how did that happen And it kind of stuck
Starting point is 00:25:55 Because it had been three years since I'd put music out That was the first single Because it was very much like That's the sort of sound of the album And then literally an hour after it came out The Queen passed away But this is what I mean Is it negatively impacted or is it
Starting point is 00:26:08 Oh, totally Okay, right It pretty much gets pulled from everything All press got cancelled Totally We pretend that song never happened. All right, well, hopefully you're not predicting any future outcomes with this new album.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Yeah, you can get it. Precious is out now. Conrad, so it was a pleasure, buddy. Great to see you. Thanks, guys. Thanks for having me. We'll see you very soon. Thank you, Conrad.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Thanks, bud. All right, if you are somebody who thinks that maybe your partner is cheating on you, I have come across something that I think you'll be very interested in. Don't point that finger at me as well. Don't wave at the fingers. What a horrible situation to be in, though. If you're like, you know, you think that maybe your partner's cheating,
Starting point is 00:26:38 this is a TikTok that's gone viral. So there is a guy who thinks that there is a simple water bottle hack, a simple way, and all you need is a used water bottle to figure out if your partner's cheating or not. Oh, ridiculous. Here it is. I'll play it for you. How to test your partner to see if they're cheating. Buy a used water bottle from Goodwill that could theoretically belong to anyone.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Pretend to discover it in their car. Here's your water bottle. Use this exact phrasing. This only works if they think you think it's theirs. If they have nothing to hide. That's not mine. I don't know whose that is. They'll admit they don't know whose it is because you've made them feel like you trust them. But if they are cheating, thank you so much, they'll go along with you and pretend it's theirs.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Very dramatic, by the way. Okay, I'm sorry. This is a load of, I don't know if I can swear on the radio, this is a load of BS. I'm calling BS on it. I think it has some merit, though. No way. Yes, because if your partner thinks, so like, for example, if somebody is cheating and they're doing the dirty and they have had another girl in the car and they've been, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:40 living their life, if he thought that that was her drink bottle, he's not going to be like, I don't know how that got there because clearly it got there somehow. So surely he's going to be like, oh, thank you. You've lulled them into a false sense of security. All right, all right. So you hand Matty J a drink bottle in the car, your husband Matty J. You're like, here's your drink bottle.
Starting point is 00:27:58 And he's like on his phone absentmindedly and he takes it and he's like, oh, thanks, babe, puts it down. You're like, cheater, I'm out. Yeah, he's a busy dad. He's a doting dad. Is that what you're saying? You would, the cheating oracle from TikTok with the use water bottle hack, you're saying is the be all and end all.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Look, I'm not saying that everybody who tries this should instantly break up with their husbands of 22 years, but I'm saying that maybe it has some merit. So I remember quite a few years ago now, I found a pair of underwear, like somebody else's underwear, in my boyfriend's bedroom. Was it male or female undies? Female undies. Okay, well, I don't know. I found a pair of.
Starting point is 00:28:35 So let me guess, you were like, wait there, and you went and got a drink bottle and gave it to him? And that's how I figured out he was cheating on me. It's not the undies.
