Life Uncut podcast acknowledges the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia
and their connections to land, sea and community.
We pay our respect to their elders, past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
This episode is recorded on Gadigal land of the Aurora Nation.
Hi guys, and welcome back to another episode of Life Uncut.
I'm Laura.
I'm Brittany.
I'm Mitch.
And this is the very last time that you're going to hear Brit on The Pickup for a while.
As you guys know, she is, well, I'm a celebrity, get me out of here, a stallion, Brittany Hockley.
But this week on The Pickup, we made it all homage to Brit.
It was an African special.
No, not to me, but she's trying to prepare me, which I obviously need.
Did I just call you Brit?
Yeah.
Is that a hybrid of Mitch?
Is that me and Brit?
It's Mitch and Brit.
But I didn't realise straight away.
I was like, God, that felt weird on my tongue.
I let it slide, yeah.
You're a Brit.
You're a real Brit.
Otherwise, it's...
Take the R out.
Yeah, it's a play on either Brit and Mitch or Bitch and Brit.
Yeah, one of the two.
No, not a bitch.
Maybe she's calling me Bitch Brit.
No, no, we got you prepared, so maybe.
Who did we speak to?
We spoke to Richard Reid, who won, I think, season four,
season five in 2019, season five.
And then Hot on His Tails, we also spoke to Woody, who came sixth.
So, you know, we really spoke to the winners of the season fast.
No, but I loved how, I mean, I feel really nervous
and really anxious in all seriousness because it's going to be crazy
and I don't know what to expect, so it did make me feel slightly better
speaking to Woody and Rich, although they both made it sound like,
they're like, oh, you'll have a great time, but it's fucked.
They were both like, it's really hard.
No, I think the interesting thing, though, is that the thing
that most people seem to struggle with is the boredom.
Like Woody was talking about it when we interviewed him
and he was like, you know, people always focus on the challenges
and the shit you've got to eat and all that stuff.
It's a down time.
But what you don't realise is just how much down time
you have sitting around the camp.
And so not only was it nice kind of like to prep you, I guess, Britt,
it was also really interesting for me to know that backstory
around like how the show works, like what happens behind the curtains
on I'm a Celebrity.
Yeah, and then you guys very nicely got like some of my favourite people
to call up and give me messages.
It was like Miguel.
My favourite person, Miguel.
Miguel called up.
We had Sam Fisher who obviously is a good friend of ours.
He came on tour with us for the Life Uncut Podcast live show.
We had your mum and dad.
And then my beautiful boyfriend, Ben.
And Ben very specifically was like, I am your boyfriend, Ben.
I am a robot.
I'll take credit for that.
He's not a robot.
Because I texted him to get that message and was like,
mate, this is playing on radio, so set up who you are.
Tell us who you are to Brittany.
It's also funny because Ben has got this like Swiss-English-Scottish-UK hybrid.
So like you can – his accent and his voice is so standout.
So there was never no guessing who it was.
But he still was like, it's me, Ben, your boyfriend.
it's also like i love you when we talk about like lifting the curtain on i'm a celebrity you just
lifted the curtain on radio you guys probably know i try and edit it out as much as i possibly can
but i can't always edit it out often we'll say things which to you guys might sound really
obvious i'll be like my husband maddie j but it's because the people who listen to the pickup are
not you guys like you guys are not listening every single day it's random people who are in their
cars who are like who the fuck is lauren britt and why is she talking about a husband whose name i
don't know yeah so that's why it's so second nature for us to be like my boyfriend ben i know
sometimes it sounds dumb when we say it to each other so i've been doing i've been doing guys
calm you're such a bridge i've been doing right for so long but it's just part of my nature like
i just set up everything like in my arguments like when i'm arguing with a friend i set up
like the context of the argument i throw to grabs i'm like well you bitch you said this last week
yep you should see me at the coffee shop i'm gonna i go up to him like what can i get you i said i'm
gonna have tell you in a minute are you teasing me coming up next i'm gonna tell you what my
ordering. So funny. We also
Laura and I got our hands on the ITV Channel
10. It's kind of like a preparation
list. They sent it to Brit to do ahead
of entering the jungle, right? Like things you're
afraid of, just so they can produce your... How
you got your hands on this before I got my hands on
this? We have connections. It might have happened. I know
people in high places at Channel 10. You know
rhinoceroses.
God, you need to work on your gags before you get to Africa, man.
I just want to make those jokes on TV.
But also, my big thing for you, Brit, is
I want to know, and obviously we have a couple
more days to workshop this.
Grace is dead.
Producer Grace is like, can we just hurry up?
I want to know how much stuff, like I am going to stay in contact with you
up until the very end, how much stuff, contraband stuff.
What are you talking about?
We can get you to get into the jungle.
I'm talking like lollies, vibrators, like whatever we can strap to your thighs.
I am not in the middle of the jungle, radio silence,
and then you just hear from my campsite.
Wait, Howie, are you going to be all right not to come in maybe six weeks?
She'll come.
When are you going to come?
We can masturbate there, I'm sure.
No way, where will you come?
There's a hundred cameras.
I'm not doing an OnlyFans on Channel 10.
My God, vibrations attract snakes.
If you put a vibrator on, it's like Pet Detective.
Remember Ace Ventura?
He summons all the snakes.
I put the vibrator on in the band and the snakes all slither off to me.
Well, you do need a snake if you're in the jungle.
Stop it.
Six weeks is a long time between nuts.
Good luck.
That's a big challenge.
Guys, you're starving and you're dirty and you're with-
That gets me going.
multiple other people and you're on tv no one's wanting to jack off nut it off all right well
look this is very much a tribute to i'm a celebrity get me out of here it's a tribute to you brit and
that is pretty much what dominated the entire show this week anyway i'm literally saying goodbye
right now i'm i'm going to get my bag this is the last step yeah not forever i'm coming i'm not
gonna get eaten by someone well i hope i'm touch wood if i get in by a wild animal i love you guys
put a really good memorial up for me i haven't i actually wrote you out of my will
Am I house-sitting for you?
We haven't spoken about that.
Well, no, we did.
I said no and you said I know your code, ha-ha.
That's exactly how it went.
Let's get into the show, guys.
Wait, wait, vote for Brit.
Vote for Brit, we should say.
Oh, my God.
Shouldn't we?
You're going to say it every episode.
Yeah, vote for Brit, guys.
Mitch, you forget that this is our podcast that we're still on
and is still continuing even while Brit's away.
I will say it every episode, vote for Brit.
It's fine.
Just so you guys do know, we'll kick it off here.
Vote for Brit.
I can only stay in the jungle by public vote,
So you don't get voted out in the jungle.
It's just down to you guys.
So I actually need your votes.
And my understanding is you can vote more than once.
Every vote counts.
Make a difference.
Vote Brittany.
See you.
We love you, Britt.
Good luck.
Oh, my God.
Bye.
Bye.
Guys, I'm worried about my brain.
This is not the first time.
I mean, I'm genuine.
I'm serious.
I think my brain is giving way.
And I think it's a bit too early in my life for my brain to stop working.
So I am going through my piercing era.
I want more piercings.
I'm here for it.
I think that ear piercings look good.
And I did this when I was in my 20s.
I got a couple of extra on the bottom.
I've got four on one side and I have three on the other.
And then on the weekend I thought I'm going to go and get my Helix pierce,
which is like the cartilage bit of your ear.
Yeah, because when you sat down today, you goes,
do you mind if I don't wear headphones?
Didn't she, Britt?
And if I spontaneously start bleeding from my ear, don't panic.
Does anyone have any Betadine for my ear?
I went, what is wrong with you?
If I start bleeding from the ear, I don't have some sort of brain injury.
Oh, it's pierced.
I can see it.
Yeah, I went.
I went to the clinic.
Oh, it's like not a clinic.
I don't know what you call it.
But these days it's very different.
They used to do it with a gun and now it's very professional.
They poke it through with a needle.
So anyway, I did a poll on Instagram because I wasn't sure where I wanted to get it done.
I was like, maybe I'll get this bit here done, the middle of my ear, a helix piercing, or
maybe I'll get the middle of my other ear done because I'm apparently going through
a midlife crisis.
So I walked in and I sat down in the chair with this lovely lady
who's covered in piercings and I was like,
I want to get a double helix piercing,
which is the two right there on your cartilage, the two I got done.
So it's high up in the ear.
Yeah, it's like it's halfway up your ear.
And I just tiny little, I just want a tiny little stud.
I don't want it to be too OTT.
Anyway, I'm sitting there and she goes to pierce my ear for the first one.
She goes, did you say you want two?
And I was like, yeah, right here.
And she goes, so you want to have three?
And I'm like, no, I want two.
I want two, yeah.
And she was like, okay, well, do you want me to just stick an earring
through the one you have there?
And I was like, what do you mean?
She goes, well, you have a piercing there.
And I was like, no, I don't.
Then I got into a debate with the piercing lady about how I couldn't
possibly have it.
You forgot to put your ear pierced.
I have no memory, zero memory of ever getting my helix pierced.
Maybe you were drunk on a night out or something.
I must have got it done in my 20s and I don't remember it at all.
Even after being reminded and her sticking an earring through it,
I still don't have any memory of doing this.
Okay, can we go back on your Instagram or your Facebook?
No, there's no photos.
I can't find anything.
What?
I can't find a single photo of me.
I don't know how you forget a hot iron going through your skin.
How do you forget getting pierced?
Laura, you own a jewellery brand.
Yeah.
Which makes money off piercings.
That's also why I want more piercings because I have so much jewellery I want to wear it all.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, pro bono.
Anyway, that's beside the point.
The point is that I think I have Alzheimer's and I'm 37.
Girls, I haven't told you this story yet, but I live with my parents at the moment
and so I'm back in my hometown where I went to school.
I haven't been there.
I moved away and came back.
So I'm running into a whole bunch of old school pals,
kids that I went to school with.
It's now been nine years since I was in school,
so people have kids, babies, marriages.
Do you reckon it's weird for them though?
They're like, oh, now you're on the radio and you're talking about all that stuff.
Yeah, sometimes it happens in a good way, but it's got me in trouble today.
So before I came in to do the show today, I went for a walk.
It was lovely.
I went and got a coffee at my local juice place I go to every day,
and I walk in and I see a girl that I went to school with.
Cute.
She's got a pram.
You're a baby.
And I go, oh, my God, this is so good.
Sammy, so good to see you.
And she goes, Mitch, hi.
Oh, my God, I was hoping we'd run into each other.
And I was like, oh, why is that?
And she's like, well, you've done so well, like, for yourself.
I listen to the pick up every day.
You have done so well, Mitch.
Oh, that's not what I'm saying.
Yeah, I was like, oh.
Are we supposed to give you a humble brag?
Okay, so we've established you've done well.
No, that's not the story.
She says, you've done so well.
It's so great.
Like, all the girls are talking about how well you've done.
But I actually want to talk to you about something.
Do you mind if we leave the cafe and go around to the street?
I'm like, oh, she wants to take it outside.
She pulls me aside and she goes, hey, I just want to let you know,
I don't have a problem with it.
Like I'm all good with it.
But you mentioned me on the show a couple months ago.
I heard you.
What?
When?
I was like, why did I mention you on the show?
She goes, well, you know how we hooked up after the year 10 farewell
that one night.
You were running with that story like it was the best night of your life
and you named me.
You did.
I remember.
You named me.
First and second name.
You double-barrelled her.
Because it's funnier if you say first name and last name.
Wait, are we going to say it again?
Yes, Sally Hemsworth.
I love you, babe.
Oh, Sally, we're sorry.
She goes, I know we had that night together,
but, like, I don't tell anyone about it.
Do you think that she's embarrassed?
You were still experimenting at the time.
You were just feeling it out.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, she was the one that I was kissing when I was dressed as a cockroach
and she was an avatar, so I had blue face paint all over my neck
and my mouth.
How could we forget?
Mitch, this is my favourite story of you,
that the one time that you bring up, you know,
I've been with a woman before.
Poor Sally.
I've been with many women.
I've been with that woman at the Apple store that still gives me staff discount today.
Like there's a couple of girls that I had a phone call.
What's her double barrel name?
Nope, not going to do it.
It's actually a trio name.
Sarah Apple.
No, she's got a middle name and a name.
But I've had many experiences with women.
No, I know.
Okay, so then what happened?
She said, if you're going to do it, can you just give me a fake name?
Oh, I get that.
I think that's fair.
I'm on Sally's side.
Does it mean that she doesn't want to be associated with being the one
that got with Mitch Turi, the guy that's on the radio?
There is a little bit of that where she's like,
it does sound like she's embarrassed, but maybe she's not embarrassed.
Maybe she just doesn't like her personal life from 20 years ago,
15 years ago being broadcast all over.
If you had gotten with Robert Downey Jr.,
you'd tell that story to all your friends.
You're not Robert Downey Jr.
How dare you?
You're Mitch Turi from year 10 drama camp
and you're dressed up as a cockroach.
Very different, you're right.
Oh, bless.
Did she ever give you like
Herpes? No. No, not that.
But did she ever like after the kiss
was there ever a follow up? Was it a good kiss?
Like what happened? She ghosted you, didn't she?
Yeah. We didn't really talk after that.
Oh, it's nice that you ran into each other in cafes then.
That's what you're doing in 10. You like made out
and then you got lost. Don't worry, Mitch.
I've outed my first boyfriend and I feel
very bad for that now. It's part and parcel with this job.
I would never. You wouldn't do it?
Bradley Thomas, I'm sorry. That's because you only date celebrities.
I mean, there was that one time
Brad Pitt, but we don't know how that happened.
Shut up.
Get over it.
Anyway, I'm sorry, Sally, but your baby did have a nice quiff
and I'm thinking.
Oh, Mitch.
It's not even funny.
That one night from nine years ago, that four-year-old baby,
not how it looks.
Did you even go there?
Did you just make out?
You don't even know how babies are made, do you, Mitch?
I don't remember what I did yesterday.
She doesn't even know.
Let alone ten years ago.
But you remember.
Sorry, sorry.
I'm gay.
All right, we're back after this.
We found out yesterday.
I'm a celebrity.
Get me out of here.
Laura, our baby Brit, is going in the jungle.
It's so exciting, Brit.
You're leaving us.
You're going to go off and be a celebrity in the jungle.
And we are going to do everything we can to get you as prepared as possible.
I'm so anxious and nervous and excited simultaneously.
It's this weekend.
You fly out after the final show.
I mean, she hasn't had a lot of time to get prepared.
But we're doing our best.
I haven't filled out documents.
I haven't done anything.
I don't think you need a lot.
They just give you a t-shirt.
Do they even give you any soap?
What can you do in there?
I have no idea.
You get those car keys.
You get some beans.
Listen, someone who knows it inside and out is our brother here at the network.
He's on straight after us, on Will and Woody.
Our beloved Woody joins us now.
Hello, mate.
Welcome to the show.
Hello.
Yes, your jungle guru.
Hi, Woody.
Hello.
I mean, Woody, you came, I think, sixth last year, wasn't it?
Bloody oath.
Top six.
We're celebrating top six.
I don't think top six is...
It's real mediocre, isn't it?
I don't think there's a ribbon or anything for sixth, but yes, I came sixth.
Everyone gets a participation award, though, don't they?
No, they don't.
Absolutely not.
If you're not a winner, you lose out.
Hey, Woody, what am I getting myself into?
It's hell, quite seriously.
It's so hard, Brit.
Is it?
It's so hard.
I was not expecting you to say that.
Yeah, it's not what you're thinking as well.
Like a lot of people, I mean, you've been texting me nonstop.
Don't tell anyone.
I think she might get in trouble for that.
With questions about the jungle.
And again, you're focusing on the part which actually isn't difficult.
The hardest bit is the boredom.
you sit and you do nothing in this tiny, tiny space.
But your questions hilariously have been,
which bunk should I choose?
No, do you know why?
That was your number one question.
Woody, that is so important.
And I say this as someone.
Yes.
Okay, so I learnt this, obviously.
You may or might not know if you're listening,
but Britt and I were both on The Bachelor.
That was the first thing I learnt is that if you choose a wrong bed,
you're screwed for the whole time that you're there.
Why? Because you're with other people?
Oh, because you'd just be on a bed and you're in an annoying spot
and then you're stuck there for the length of time.
Once you've picked a bed, that's your bed.
You can't change.
I took a screenshot of the camp from TV.
I went home, took a screenshot, sent the screenshot to Woody,
did circles of different areas.
Which bed?
And I said, which area and which bed do I take?
And he wrote back, this is not the question I thought I would get
for the first question.
Yeah, it was outrageous.
And then your follow-up was, do you get a hairbrush in there?
Woody, you are outing.
Do you get soap?
Do you get shampoo and conditioner?
Do you get a hairbrush, toothbrush?
Like are you allowed to bring that stuff in?
No.
So the only thing you can bring in is like I think it's two pairs
of shorts and then jocks and bathers.
That's it.
That's it from your own stuff.
What's the bathroom situation like, Woods?
Like is it open slather?
Is there a door?
Is it actually a pit in the ground?
Oh, my God, good question.
So it's an outdoor shower with very limited covering.
So if you choose, and we actually did discuss this as well, Britt,
this one we discussed on the phone about showering nude
or not showering nude.
We get it.
You guys text, by the way.
Sorry.
We had a Skype call together.
What did I say?
Yeah, we're very tight.
We're very tight now.
But you are going to have to make a choice very early on
whether you are going to nude up or not nude up.
Did you go nude?
So I did go nude.
It's easier for guys, though.
I think it is.
I truly do think it is because, like, no one wants to see me naked,
whereas, I mean, I can't.
I could talk to you off the air, Woods.
I think a lot of people wanted to see you naked, Woody.
Well, so interestingly, so day three I decided to just ditch the speedos
because I just couldn't get into the nooks and crannies
like you can when you're naked.
And then when I got voted out or when I got kicked out,
I went into this control room and there were like screens everywhere
and I noticed that there were like six cameras on the shower.
That seems unnecessary.
That's too many cameras on the shower.
I couldn't agree more.
And I'd been told that there was like this unwritten rule
that when someone does nude up in the shower,
the cameras all go down.
They don't.
And they don't watch.
But, like, I could see the cameras and they were pointing straight at me.
That's so unnecessary.
So I walk into this room and there's 20 people sitting there
and I just made the joke.
I was like, hey, everyone, you guys know me a bit more than I know you
and just so you know, the water in the shower was cold.
You know, just a nothing joke, whatever.
Anyway, they laughed way too loud.
And it was like, oh, you know exactly what I'm joking about.
and then one guy gets up and he goes, no, no, no, no,
in all seriousness, you did me a huge favour
because when we had to pixelate your rude parts,
I only needed one pixel.
Oh, that's gnarly.
That's rough.
Thanks a lot, mate.
Wear your bikini in the shower is what we're getting.
What is your genuine one bit of advice for Brit?
Like in all seriousness, should she be herself?
Should she edit herself?
You've been in there, you've spoken to production,
you know what it's like.
What's your one takeaway for Brit?
So I'd say my one takeaway would be,
And this is just from speaking on experience of when I was enjoying myself
and not enjoying myself in there.
And when I wasn't enjoying myself, I was so conscious of the fact
that I was being filmed and I was thinking about what people's opinion
of me would be and that's not even the campsite.
You're also thinking about what Australia is thinking of you.
And when I would get really bogged down in that,
I was having a shocking time and it just really fatigues you,
which again, I'm sure that's an experience you can relate to
given you've been on reality TV before.
when and I again I know this seems like obvious advice but when you're just like just act like
yourself and dick around and and they're not trying to create a scandal out of you I don't
in this show they're not they're not it's not like married at first sight where they're trying
to get like oh yes we've we've got Brit saying something outrageous or saying something
controversial and we're going to drive that yeah I actually want you to look good so just let your
guard down okay good advice just drop your guard drop your guard drop your dax that's
wear your dax and drop your guard that's the take home from this you're a good man um hey i think
really good advice brit and that's great advice i'm gonna be thinking about you all when i'm in
the jungle thanks woods that's top six uh almost winner the sixth alternate winner from i'm a
celebrity get me out of here our beautiful britney hockley is heading into the i'm a celebrity get
me out of here jungle it's very exciting still surreal and i am so nervous brittany how are you
feeling about it because yesterday i think was i mean overwhelming but now you've had a little
bit of time to process it all how do you feel that this is what you're going to be doing i
i woke up in a sweat last night i had a nightmare that preparing for malaria no that there was yeah
sounds like you've got malaria no i had a nightmare that there was a giant spider like
You know the big giant spider out of Harry Potter?
And he was on me on the bed, like on my face.
Because this is your biggest fear, right?
Spiders.
That's like one that really tips you over the edge.
Spiders and snakes don't do well.
So the whole show today is dedicated to getting you ready for the jungle.
Laura and I have got our hands on a Channel 10 application list
or the questions that you need to answer before you go in.
We'll do that later on.
Yeah, and we want to make sure that you are as prepped
and as ready as you possibly can be so that you've got the competitive edge.
Yeah, so what we've done is we also like you're part of our show.
If you embarrass our program, we're going to be upset.
No, we're not doing this for ourselves, Mitch.
We're doing this for the greater good of Britain.
Mitch is doing it for himself.
So I wanted to contact a past winner of I'm a Celebrity,
Get Me Out of Here.
So we've gone to the gorgeous, the incredible, the ex-winner
of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here Australia.
Richard Reid joins us now to give you all the tips you need.
Hello, Richard.
Hi, Richard.
I take exception to being called an ex-winner.
I'm a winner always.
Once you've won, you are royalty.
You are jungle royalty.
And I got to tell you, I might be a queen, but you, Brittany, will be the princess of
the jungle.
I just know it.
That's so sweet.
Because I really, I mean, like when you go into this, you want to win, right?
It's for a charity.
You want to make sure your charity gets the money.
You don't want to go in there and mess around.
So like, I feel a lot of pressure now speaking to an actual winner.
What is your charity?
My charity is Rise Up, which is a charity that focuses on domestic violence and shelters
for families and women.
Oh, I didn't know that.
That's beautiful, Brett.
That's so good.
Oh, my God.
Well, I'm going to tell you, I was going to tell you,
don't be afraid to cry.
You turn on the waterworks every single time you get out.
This is it, right?
Because you've got to tell your story on there.
You've got to make the audience fall in love with you.
People don't have time for my story.
Not that people don't already love you, Britt,
but it's your opportunity to kind of show a different side of yourself.
Rishi, what do you think is your number one tip in terms of, like,
what you would say that was such a big thing for me and got me over the line for Britt to do.
Okay, okay, okay. I got two things. I'm going to tell you the positive one first.
Girl, be yourself. You are beautiful, but I know you're also a super dork. You are a super nerd
and let your freak flag fly, honey. You just got to be your lovable self. Do not put on anything TV.
do not put on anything a radio you just be yourself and you will be a winner 100 you're
the first person that's embraced me and said i'm actually a dork and owned it laura way says i'm
not a dork because you're so beautiful i don't say it as a as an insult i say it as in like you
are you're gorgeous but richard in saying that i think i won't be in the jungle no it's so beautiful
that you've said that because and you know brit's spoken about this before uh from being on the
bachelor sometimes when you work in media you feel like you've got to put your your perfect
self out there and that people won't like you if you're authentic and i think brit that's such a
powerful piece of information a hundred percent because i know when i went in the jungle for the
first three days i was like yeah richard reed hollywood i had the hair i had yeah then i just
got too damn tired to care and once you let your real personality show then people really get to
know you britney do not be a pussy do not be a pussy do not be afraid never say i'm a celebrity
get me out of here if they say you're going if they say you're going in with the snakes you say
thank you how many honey yes good advice that's what i usually say on a sunday night
oh my god see that's the britney we want that's the britney we want she's also she's a nerd but
she really can get it she's gorgeous so um richard what's what's the biggest bit of advice that on a
negative side of the jungle like what really did you struggle with when you were on uh in 2019
well of course i was starving i i think i lost more weight than just about anyone so start eating
less now get off the coffee you know what people are gonna get on your nerves you don't have to be
friends with everybody but you have to be friendly with everyone don't pick a feud you don't want a
feud because that doesn't look good do not roll your eyes if i see you rolling your eyes one time
that means you are that bored chick and just don't got time for no one no do not roll your eyes
if you rolled your eyes on the bachelor you know they use that shot over and over and you also
can't control how they're going to use it because you might have rolled your eyes at one thing but
then they've got that grab and they can chuck it in anywhere they want to but richard richard what
What was it like, because I get the hunger thing,
like I'm immediately, I'm off coffee straight away
and I'm going to start trying to eat less so I'm not so starving.
But what was it like eating all the gross food
because I'm petrified about eating an eyeball or a testicle or something?
Oh, you are going to eat a bull's ball for sure.
They want balls in your mouth, honey.
You know that.
God, I wish I went to the jungle.
That sounds like a fun time.
I would have loved that.
No wonder you won.
You know what?
Once you're over the initial crunch of something
and then it squirts into your mouth.
Oh, you can't make it more visceral, Richard.
There's kids in cars.
I am telling you, that is how it goes crunch and it goes.
And then you just have to, girl, it's like a bad day.
You just have to swallow and then it's over.
Okay.
That's good advice.
Good advice for many different things.
It's really not.
It's awful.
You guys watch it.
I am going to be vomiting for sure.
I know it.
Richard Reid, the king of the jungle from 2019, from season five.
Great advice for our beloved Brittany.
We'll be watching.
The whole country are going to be watching.
We are all genuinely rooting for you to win.
We're chatting to our future queen right here.
But you know what, Brit, no matter what happens,
you're the queen of the pick-up.
Yeah, we love you.
Well, please, Richard might not vote for me,
but if anyone's listening, please vote for me.
Thank you, Richard.
We're all a bit excited because our very own Brittany Hockley
is going into the jungle.
I'm a celebrity.
Get me out of here!
Mitch, what are we going to do the next few weeks?
What are you going to do?
I'm in the jungle, Laura.
I know, and we are, I mean, Brit, we only worry about your welfare.
And that is exactly where I'm heading with this.
But Mitch, it's going to be you and I.
Just keeping this thing afloat.
Management haven't really told us what the plan is,
but I'm happy with you.
Are you guys thinking you're going to struggle without me?
That's cute.
No, we'll be fine.
We're going to miss you so much,
but we also want you to go into this
and we want you to be so well prepared.
We want you to have everything dialed
because we're expecting you to come out a winner.
No pressure.
I know, right?
Guys, I can't win by anything I do in there.
I can only win by you guys voting for me.
Yeah, if you're listening to this,
you've got to vote for Britt.
But this has all come about so quickly,
quite literally yesterday,
the day before we found out that you were going into the jungle.
A couple of days ago, yeah.
I mean, we've all got emotional whiplash,
but we have been in touch with Channel 10
and we have received the questionnaire.
So basically when you go into these reality shows,
you get asked a whole lot of questions like around your health,
around what things are your fears.
Which I'm still waiting to receive.
Well, you don't need to wait to receive it anymore
because Mitch and I have it right here
and we thought because we do have your best interests at heart,
we thought we would help you fill this out.
We're going to answer and have a little peek behind the curtain
and if I'm a celebrity, live on air.
As long as you don't fill it out on my behalf.
No, we are.
We're doing it right now.
It's actually so funny.
Mitch has got the pen and I have got the questions.
Peeking behind the curtain for people, Laura, there's a black pen
because it says at the top, like you're at the passport office,
all in block letters in a black pen.
Imagine if Brit just sent this in, red pen, little rebel.
She would.
That's what I would do.
Lower case.
This is so cool.
It says ITV Channel 10 pre-show questionnaire for I'm a celeb.
You ask the first question, Loz.
Okay, Brittany, how long do you think you are going to last
in the competition?
Until the final.
You're going to win.
I feel it so deeply in my soul that you were going to win.
That's me manifesting.
Like, I don't want to go into this for shits and giggles.
I'm there to thrive, not survive.
There's only like seven boxes.
You mean you're there to survive, not thrive?
No, I'm there to thrive, not survive.
Just take either.
If you survive, just stay in.
I will just survive, but I would prefer to thrive.
So what am I writing in the box?
Survive.
Forever.
Forever.
There's only seven boxes.
Do you think Britt's ever coming home?
No, write forever.
How long will I stay?
Forever.
No, you don't want to.
That means you'll die.
Just write win.
We're going to win.
All right, W-I-N.
Oh, my God.
I'll read the next one.
What's the one thing that would make you say,
I'm a celebrity, get me out of here?
I've been thinking about this.
Your biggest fear.
I think the most trouble I'm going to have,
I think I can talk myself mentally through spiders and snakes,
even though I detest them.
For me, I think it's going to be the eating challenges.
Like eating an – I can't even think about it.
Eating an eyeball or a testicle or something is making me want to vomit in my mouth.
Okay, what do you think would be the worst thing that they could give you to eat?
An eyeball.
An eyeball because I still feel uncomfortable.
The cow eyeball.
I remember one that had the retina and everything attached to it
and the person, the celebrity, could feel it in their mouth.
Like a spaghetti.
I think it could see inside them.
You know, you need to cut the dad jokes because you're going to lose much of those.
No, you're not.
You're going to be amazing.
I think you need to show Australia the dorkiest, daddest version of Brittany Hockley.
People have been catfished by Brittany Hockley for years.
They do not know.
We are deep best friends with Britt.
She is not at all what you think she is.
And speaking about, like, lifting the curtain,
it's not really lifting the curtain I'm a celebrity.
It's lifting the curtain on Brittany Hockley.
That's what this is.
Totally.
All right, next question.
All right, what is your biggest...
Wait, what am I writing, sorry?
Just eyeball.
Cow eyeball.
Or I think we...
Any animal.
Not specific.
Any animal.
Eyeball, I'm writing it.
Camel, cow, whatever.
Mammal eyeball.
All right, this is a double, a double question.
Firstly, we're going to start with what is your biggest strength?
My dad jokes.
No, but you know what?
Like the challenges, physicality.
I am, no.
She quickly changed, didn't she?
Physical, physical.
Because I think you want to take this seriously, right?
I think that I'm probably fitter and healthier than people think I am
because I really love just being fit and healthy.
I've always loved it.
I've loved exercise.
So I think maybe if there's something physical,
I feel like I'd be better at that than eating the spiders and stuff.
What do you think is going to be your biggest weakness then?
The eating the eyeball.
No, you've got to pick something else.
But that's it.
I'm dreading it.
I have nightmares about it.
You're pretty honest, Britt.
Like you kind of tell it as it is and that could rub people the wrong way.
Yeah, I was going to say what about like being in that camp
because so much of the time when I'm a celebrity,
people don't realise this, you're just sitting around waiting
for a challenge or waiting for someone to come and tell you what to do.
How do you think you're going to go with being so idle for so long
and surrounded by the same people?
Yeah, the boredom might get to me.
Yeah.
And also you know what might get to me?
This is something that might surprise a lot of people
but I like my own time.
Maybe because I'm around, I talk for a living
so then I love to go home and be on my own.
You're a bit of an introvert, which people don't realise.
I am.
I'm on and I'm on and I'm on until I'm not and then I'm super off.
And in the jungle you can't escape that ever.
Okay, that answer's too long.
I'll just put a question mark.
We're going to fold this up.
Before we say goodbye to you and ship you off to Africa,
we have one final surprise that Laura and I have put together for you.
Is there a lion here?
No.
No lions.
Something more beautiful than a lion.
But we love you.
Because we're going to miss you.
We're going to miss you.
Brit's big surprise.
We, I mean, we've been all laughs since we found out this
and we've been trying to get you set up.
We've been trying to, you know, get you prepared for how intense
and I don't know, we don't even know what you're in for,
but we're trying to prepare you for what's happening in Under Celebrity.
Because you fly out when?
In two days.
Wow.
Yeah, but as much as there's been lots of jokes,
also we just want to say we are so excited for you to go and do this.
We are your number one fans.
We are going to be here waving the Brittany Hockley fan flag.
We'll be waving the fan.
Do you want to put a fan on?
No, we'll be waving that flag.
We'll be making sure that people are voting and watching
and that the whole Brittany Hockley fan club are here for you because we are.
I love that so much.
But I also want you to laugh at me.
We already do.
Because it's going to be ridiculous and embarrassing
and I want you to embrace that fully.
I'm so excited to see you on telly.
So are a bunch of the really important people in your life.
Like Laura said, we've been silly.
We're making fun of you.
We want to see you eat pig's balls and eyeballs
and all the other kind of balls.
But we wanted you
It's happened so quickly
So you haven't been able to speak to everyone in your life
So what we've done is
We've spoken to them for you
And I'm going to get emotional
And everyone's going to miss you
And that's what we wanted
We've got something prepared for you
Have a listen to this
Brittany Hockley
It's old mate Sam Fisher
Did we know you were a celeb?
Yes we did
Did we know you were a celeb of the jungle?
No we didn't
But what a pleasant surprise to find that out
I know you're going to rock this
A little word of advice, don't eat every berry you find.
Poison ivy, stay away from it.
It'll give you a rash.
And otherwise, you've got this.
Go on, Brit.
We all love you.
We're all rooting for you.
And I'm sending you all the strength in the world, girl.
Bring it home.
Bye.
It's me, Miguel Maestre.
A hairy little bear told me you're going into the jungle.
Well, the best thing to do is make sure you eat a lot of food when you go in there
because when you go in there, you're going to get so skinny.
So make sure you carb load up.
Hey Britt, it's your very best friend and sister Sherry here.
I just want to say, have the best time in the jungle.
You're going to absolutely smash it.
It's for an amazing charity
and I know you're going to give it absolutely everything.
And just try not to vomit when you have to go to the food hall.
Do your best because I'll be watching.
Hi Brittie, it's your mum.
And dad.
I hear there's a fabulous menu going over there.
Yeah, like...
With some scrummy things on it.
Zebra doodles.
And monkey's testicles.
Eek.
Just remember, here's the advice.
Here, just remember, don't chew, just swallow.
Yeah, well, that's good advice.
Well, you'll get through it if you do that.
But anyway, look, lots and lots of luck on this wild adventure.
And I'm sure that you're going to approach it pretty like you do everything else in life.
That's in a straight line at 100 miles an hour.
Hey, babe, it's me, your boyfriend, Ben.
I just want to wish you best of luck in the jungle.
I know it's going to be a hell of an experience.
And I just want to tell you that you are amazing
and you are so brave and you're so strong and beautiful.
And I think you're going to do really, really well on the show.
And I'm going to really, really miss you.
But I'll be cheering you on on TV.
So best of luck and I love you lots.
Oh, guys.
We love you, Bruce.
We do.
That was so beautiful.
My favourite part was Ben saying, I'm your boyfriend.
He sent me six and we really edited all of them.
I'm like, it's radio, mate.
You know the best part?
He was holding a toy koala in the video that he sent and it was for radio.
He doesn't do radio.
He doesn't do media.
Let the boy live.
He did a great job.
He's holding a koala.
That is the most beautiful thing.
And my parents and Miguel, that was random.
Miguel Maestro.
It was so bizarre.
Ben has a koala look.
That's so cute.
Miguel and Sam.
Guys.
Your parents.
My parents.
That was a real multitude of people that you put together.
Well, we know you and Miguel have a long history of friendship.
Miguel and I are very tight.
That was a Laura get.
Laura and I got Miguel for the montage.
We honestly want to say.
i didn't even understand what he said he said i was gonna get skinny it could carb load
oh leave miguel alone no look let's take this seriously for a second because that was beautiful
it's such a huge thing i'm so proud of you for going and putting yourself outside your comfort
zone and we can't wait to watch and see everything that you do on the show and like i said we're here
and we are your biggest fans and your biggest supporters i hope i make you guys really proud
Should we sway out?
Thank you, guys.
Take my heart, it touched my soul.
Changed my life and all my goals.
It's beautiful.
That's enough.
I could have played Africa by Toto.
I didn't plan this well.
That would have been good.
It would have been so much better.
No, goodbye, my love of fit.
It works.
Love you, Brit.
We love you, Brit.
Oh, my God, guys, bye.
Get out of here and be safe.
Actually, goodbye.
Come back in one piece.
We'll see you on the end of Monday.
We'll have all the goss.
Smellier and hairier than you've ever been before.
Oh, I'm going to be rank.
You're going to stink.
It's premiering this Sunday on Channel 10.
We can't wait to watch.
Goodbye.
See you guys.
