Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode was recorded on Camaragal land. Hi guys and welcome back to another episode of Life Uncut. I'm Laura. I'm Brittany and it's Christmas time. I do feel like we need to sing on a Christmas episode. We actually don't. People do not come to us to listen to us sing. She's got that evil laugh. Because it's just not the thing. It is Christmas.
Starting point is 00:00:31 But it's what sets the tone of it being the Christmas episode, end of the year. It's not true. One might call it the rear in your view or you might call it the year in review, either way, whichever tickles your fancy. It's been five years now, guys. It has. And for the past two years, I've actually done rear in your view
Starting point is 00:00:49 or year in review by myself. And this year I was like, I think we should all record it together and we should go back through. Actually, I will. I'm like, stop leaving me by myself. Keisha was literally like, can we please do a year in review together this year? Because like, why the fuck are you guys on holidays and I'm still working? Keisha goes, guys, it's a great idea.
Starting point is 00:01:06 I'm not doing it. But I want to get this plug in. Firstly, if you're listening to this, maybe you're driving to like a Christmas event or something, I'm not going to suggest this for you. But if you're just listening around the house, put it on YouTube because this year we did launch our YouTube channel. And so we have videos of every single one of our best bits this year and we're going to be reacting to them as well.
Starting point is 00:01:29 So you will really feel as though you're a part of the team if you have the visual element and Laura does have shoes on right now. So you're safe. But not for long, baby. And I'm giving away the foot content for free right now. If you're on YouTube, that one's for you. Before we get into the unpack, because this is a Christmassy episode and we want to keep the vibes high, does anybody else play Christmas carols and Christmas music at home?
Starting point is 00:01:50 Yeah, of course. Like for themselves? Yeah. So we constantly have the Christmas playlist happening. Like you just go on Spotify, the Christmas hits list. It's a banger. Are you a Buble person or more a Mariah? You can't play any Christmas list without Buble.
Starting point is 00:02:06 I agree. I was going to disagree. I'm not a Buble. I feel like Buble is a bit overrated. I dig. Buble is amazing, inside and out. Okay. He's a great guy.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Have you been inside him? No, he's been inside me. so we have the Christmas carols playing all the time kids love it they're very into it there is a song on the Christmas list which is the rocking around the Christmas tree you know that rocking around the Christmas tree so it's a hit it's a banger we all know it there is a lyric in there that says maybe we can have some pumpkin pie I had never thought of this before and never had it occurred to me I just would always sing the lyrics maybe we'll have some pumpkin pie and we were in the car the other day and it was absolutely on blast and marley turned around and
Starting point is 00:02:52 she goes mommy and i was like what she goes she said a bad word and i was like she didn't say a bad word she goes she needs to do some sit-ups and then i rewound the song and it sounds like they say maybe we can have some fucking pie maybe that's the adult version maybe it's the australian version it's maybe we can have some fucking pie it checks out honestly i'm gonna play it for you guys, because I had never heard it until I heard it and now I can't unhear it. Have a listen to this. The Christmas spirit ring. Later we'll have some pumpkin pie. It does. Let's go back. Hang on. Dream that the Christmas spirit ring. Later we'll have some pumpkin pie and we'll do.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Can I tell you? I think it does say fuck. I think it's the X-rated version. stop that's one of those magical words that if you're thinking pumpkin you will hear pumpkin the green lantern thing oh my god did we just discover a new one if you're thinking the f word that's what you're hearing that but as if that is not an aussie thing as well there would be so many families you know i'm gonna hey pass the fucking pie that's what they'd say no one's saying pass me the pumpkin pie look it has been a very big year for everybody it's also been a very big year for life uncut and we want to say thank you to everyone who has been listening we adore you all and this year we've met so many lifers, whether it's just been
Starting point is 00:04:11 on the Bondi to Bronte walk or like on the way home from our Christmas party the other night, I met a couple of lifers who were very drunk who I helped them get into Bondi Public Bar. One of them fell over into the gutter and cut her knee just prior to that. We've all been there. We've all been there.
Starting point is 00:04:24 You know no bounds. I've specifically been there at Public Bar too. Yeah. It's a rite of passage. It is. And we're just so deeply grateful for you guys, for all of you who have listened this year or who have watched on YouTube but we wanted to kind of cover off a couple of the highlights and this episode
Starting point is 00:04:40 specifically we do it every year where we go back through like the real highlights from the show but just to give you a little bit of a recap so this year alone we have released 173 episodes we launched a YouTube channel this year Jono joined the team he's hiding over in the corner at the moment he's not hiding it's where we put him and he wears black we put him against a black wall we can't even see him we won some big awards brit and i won an acros award yeah best hosts media week keisha won a media week award and also we've had 12 million 108 676 hundred 12 million do that in roman numerals we've done 12 million 108 676 downloads this year alone 12 million downloads. Well, this year we hit collectively overall, we hit 87 million
Starting point is 00:05:32 downloads of Life Uncut podcast. That's insane. 87 million. Isn't there only like 27 million people in the country? Thank God some of you listen twice. Do you reckon like ScoMo and stuff listen? Do you reckon everyone? Absolutely not. But it's funny when I do a like, if we're going to a real, real rear in your view, 87 million. And we're like stoked, but we just are so in it now that we don't stop to smell the roses. But I had a laugh the other day, Laura, I looked back and reflected on when we celebrated our first 1 million downloads. And I don't know if you remember, we charted a private yacht. We got a videographer. We filmed a skit on Bondi. Like we were just, and it makes me so happy to think back at how happy we were. We never thought we'd
Starting point is 00:06:15 hit a million downloads we filmed a whole skit on a yacht with like a full theme was that a million downloads or 10 million one i thought it was 10 i'm pretty sure it was well maybe but even if it was 10 we're now nearly at 90 million so it's so incredible to reflect back on on how far we've come over the years yeah it's funny because we have so many conversations about it like just you know through ask on carts and whatnot around how you have to stop and like celebrate your little wins. And sometimes you can be so in the hustle that you, I mean, and it's definitely the case for us. We're so in the hustle and we work so hard on this podcast and we love creating the content that we create. We love the conversations that we have and the community that you guys bring
Starting point is 00:06:55 to this podcast, but it's very rare that we as a team stop and actually have time to reflect on everything that we've achieved. And I'm very, very proud of all of us, everyone in the room, hold hands and sing Kumbaya, but also like of you guys and how much you've come along with us throughout some of the absolute best moments of our lives like brit this year you getting engaged and some of the worst moments of our lives like you have been there throughout every step of it and we are so grateful can we repost the video for those people that haven't seen it like let's put the million celebration on the yacht let's like repost that because we've had so many new listeners over the last five years there'll be people that don't know what we're talking about and haven't
Starting point is 00:07:32 seen it and you've had a million different hairstyles i had a crisis okay and i'm still in Brittany has been a million different people on this podcast. You've seen every version of her. I still don't know who I am. But I think this year, I don't know if I'm comparing it to last year. Last year we had the live show. So there were like seven live shows. And I don't know, this year to me felt a little bit more in it. I don't know if that's going to be a way to describe it. I just felt as though we were churning out so much content and maybe that's why we didn't have time to stop and smell the roses because, you know, we record and then we edit and we publish the episodes with such a tight turnaround and then it's on to the next one it's always
Starting point is 00:08:10 trying to think of like what more can we be bringing to the community and and I think maybe that for next year I would like to try and sit in the moments a little bit more do you know what I mean like next year I'd really like to not work I don't want to be my official resignation but it was also like it was a hard year personally like I know Laura you've had one of the toughest years probably ever like it's been a really it has been actually been a really awful year for personally. Yeah. And I, I genuinely wanted to say like the biggest thank you to you guys, because there has been so many of you who have slid into my DMs to just send me kind messages. And also there's something really cathartic about what we get to do and how we get to share our stories.
Starting point is 00:08:52 And, you know, I had an incredible listener of the podcast who works for the Mercury down in Wollongong and she sent me a package just completely unannounced. I went to work at Tony May this one day and I had a package that had come and she had gone through all the archives of the Mercury newspaper and had printed out all the pictures of Neil. So Neil's my stepdad for anyone who missed that earlier in the year, he passed away. That is so nice. Yeah. It was like, I've had these really special moments that have all come off the back of being part of this community. And I'm so grateful for you guys, for the messages around grief, for people who have talked about, you know, even when we're having conversations around palliative care, like it has been such
Starting point is 00:09:32 a big and heavy year in some ways but it's also been so so beautiful and I'm just I know I say I've already said it and I'll say it a million times like we're so so grateful and we genuinely feel like we have the best jobs in the world and and that's because of everyone who's listening we really do and I know it seems obvious but we don't say it enough we're only here because of you guys we only have the job of our dreams because you guys turn up and support us in every way on the podcast in the dms at the live shows like this is because of you and it it does feel like a family sometimes I know people people will stop us on the street and they'll say that they love the podcast and they'll say you're like my big sisters I know you don't know me but you guys
Starting point is 00:10:12 especially if you're in the discussion group we are a family and I think that that is the fucking coolest thing it's like a family of its own you know the people in there especially the ones who contribute all the time also massive thank you to hannah and megan who do the anonymous posts for us in the facebook group you guys have facilitated so many incredible conversations and you are the unsung heroes of life uncut i absolutely adore both of you you're so hilarious as well a lot of people wouldn't know like the behind the scenes personalities of the girls but they're wonderful but also in that you know so both hannah and megan were lifers listeners of the podcast who took on the responsibility of sharing your anonymous posts in the group
Starting point is 00:10:50 they did that for themselves and for you guys like none of that was something like they're not employees of life uncut they are just incredible people who loved what the community stood for and also wanted to help because we get so many anonymous questions we can't answer them all but there is such a brain trust now in that life uncut community and it's a way in which you guys can ask your anonymous questions and get them out to the group without anyone knowing who you are and have those questions answered by people who genuinely care. So yeah, I absolutely echo that Keish. Thank you so much for all your work and for everything that you've brought to the community this year, guys. We also have some other people behind the scenes that you guys would never
Starting point is 00:11:29 have even heard of. We have a girl named Tay who has just gone off and had twins. So congratulations, but she's behind the scenes. She does a lot of like the admin work that we can't get to. My sister Sherry has been behind the scenes for years since day one and we never paid her, which is really bad we will but she did it because we are now we are now officially but she was also behind the scenes for a long time with you guys so it's we are a very small team but we're very mighty but we wanted to just like highlight those people that do all the work as well but when we look back like you Laura I want to say my own little thank you for a few of my moments that I had at the start of the year I talked to you guys about the fact that I was struggling a lot with
Starting point is 00:12:08 my embryos and I did my embryo collection if you did missed it and I didn't get any embryos and that was off the back of getting very little eggs the time before and just coming to this realization that it's not going to be easy and I knew it wasn't going to be easy but when it becomes a number in front of you when you wake up from sedation and they're like sorry you know it didn't go well it takes on a new a new kind of chapter where you realize oh it's not just a throwaway comment anymore where I used to be like I don't have great fertility because that's what I used to say but that didn't register in my brain I just used to say that but now I know the response that I got from you guys when I shared that and I shared that months later like
Starting point is 00:12:46 I sat with that with Ben for a long time before we shared it but the response was much like you just said Laura with you know your grief and losing Neil you guys showed up in droves because my fertility issues don't touch the sides to what some people have been through and I really appreciate the support and messages and the love that I got from you guys at that time I always say because like whenever we get livers who like approach us on the streets and stuff which happens a lot and it's it's always funny because you guys always kind of say the same thing I didn't know when I should come say hello but like you always say on the podcast to come and say hi and and I always joke so I'm like you know so much more about us than what we know so like the power
Starting point is 00:13:22 imbalance is way off like share your most embarrassing story right now so that we're even totally I mean if I can talk about my sex life openly on this podcast like you you know everything we do we love it when you guys come and say hello in real time please never stop doing that and also like this episode specifically was meant to be a bit of a walk down memory road lane memory lane lane for sure it's not a street avenue for dead end memory boulevard we are on memory high street it's not a fucking lane we are walking down memory central okay we are walking down memory highway the absolute peaks of what was 2024 for life on cart brute before we do this sorry Laura I couldn't find the equivalent of something that was a bit of a funny Christmas
Starting point is 00:14:07 present for you but I did get one for you Brit because I saw this. Let me give a bit more context to this I received a message from Keisha and she was like hey should we all give each other stupid Christmas gifts and I was like yeah for sure but I don't really know what we would do and Keisha's like cool well I found Brit so that's why I want to do it. Keisha's obviously seen something been like this let's just make this a thing but no one made it a thing. But no one made it a thing so You got me a present. I got you a present and I think you're going to love it. And this is going to be the best Christmas gift you've ever got.
Starting point is 00:14:36 No, it's not fragile. You can take it to Romania with you. Oh, sorry. That was a terrible throw. Good catch. That was amazing. Soccer skills. If anyone saw that, I just did an amazing catch with my croc.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Okay. It's a book. Yeah, so you can take it to Romania on your flight. It's a sex book. And you can read it. Is it? Far from. Oh, fuck.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Am I going to be upset at this? No. I think it's going to be. There was no conviction in that. It'll be at the top of your reading list. What is it, Britt? What's the book? The Honey Badger's Guide to Life.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I saw it and thought of you. It's never too soon, is it, Kish? Gosh, it's never too soon. Imagine taking life advice from the honey badger. This has got to be. There's got to be a chapter about you in there. I don't think we've touched the sides. Do you reckon there's a chapter in here that's what not to do?
Starting point is 00:15:42 When you go on a reality TV show? You know, I thought that you might enjoy that one. You would like to know that I got it from Vinny's, so he actually won't get any money from the sale of that book. You cannot script this. I just flicked through. Guess what page I opened on? What page?
Starting point is 00:15:58 bedroom talk do you want me to read it go for gold bedroom talk yelling and screaming like you're caught in a barbed wire fence may be cool at first but ideally you want to build up the fireworks a few words on your partner's finer points usually gets the show started getting your gear off followed by a meaningful squirrel grip will get the dance underway a squirrel grip what are you squirrel gripping a word of warning never call out your own name followed by go you good thing. It's a rookie error. Happy humping. Okay, but the squirrel grip, is he gripping his own penis or is he gripping her? Did he cheer himself on? Get your gear off, followed by a meaningful squirrel grip. I mean, you know, it's questionable that you guys take life advice from
Starting point is 00:16:42 us. Definitely don't take it from him. I'm definitely not going to read this. Thanks. Jono, do you need some life advice from the Honey Patch? Maybe you need some kindling. All right, well, let's get into some of the highlights from this year. And also, if you guys want to go back and listen to any of the full episodes, because these are banging eps and very, very funny or sentimental or meaningful moments, the true highlights. We have listed everything in the show notes so that you can go and easily find the episodes as well if you want some light or deep listening throughout your holiday period. Let's kick it off. Okay, so for this year's Year in Review or Year in Review, whichever you prefer,
Starting point is 00:17:17 we're breaking it into four different chapters. So we're going to have some funny bits at the very start we're going to have one of the most impactful moments that happened in our year we're going to have some snippets from three of our favorite and most popular interviews throughout the year and then we're going to finish it off with three of your favorite ask uncuts so starting off the funny bits the chapter of the funny bits is one of Brit's most embarrassing stories and I still to this day cannot believe that you did this I'm not often mortified you guys know that I don't get embarrassed very easily but I was proper mortified at myself I wanted to dig myself a hole bury me over the top but obviously I
Starting point is 00:17:55 couldn't logistically that is impossible so I was at a party I went out which I also don't do very often but I was at this party and it was outside near the harbour bridge in Sydney and it was packed like the balcony was jam-packed with people and it was one of those parties that wasn't sit down it was literally at like a fancy bar with like hors d'oeuvres finger food a bit of a bar tab. So everyone's just thriving, right? So I'm standing there and I'm starving because I was late to the party. So I didn't have dinner. So I went there and I was like, I'll just get some of the finger food when I get there. This is also, I mean, this is a mutual friends party. I could have been there with you, Britt, but instead I wasn't. And I'm not allowed to have another night
Starting point is 00:18:35 off from them. You could have experienced this moment with me. So I'm standing there having a drink, waiting for the food, and then I can see it come out. And you know, when you see a waitress coming out with food you like eyeball them the whole time to let them know that you you know like when people are walking around plates of food you're like just so you know i'm over here like i'm eyeballing you you know when it's when you mean when it's finger food when it's yeah you're like you always get the waitress's attention with your eyes towards the front because most waitresses don't they don't evenly bring it around so if you're closest to the kitchen you get the most food yes well i couldn't get close to the kitchen because it was jam-packed
Starting point is 00:19:09 like sardines but it didn't matter because i could see him making a beeline for us anyway so i thought oh she knows that the people up the back need the food because she was making a beeline through the crowd and we're hungry and she was kind of holding them up not many people were grabbing it so I was like beautiful it was like a salt and pepper squid I was like I can see that no one's grabbing it so there's going to be more by the time it gets here so she walks towards me and I reach out and I grab some salt and pepper calamari and I'm like thank you and she gives me a really weird look and I was like okay that was rude you're like do you have a serviette and some sauce so she walked past me and I looked to the people I was with and I was like she was so rude like I said did you not hear me
Starting point is 00:19:45 say thank you eat my calamari and then I turn around and make eye contact with her and she's not a waitress she's in fact a guest she's a guest that ordered her own salt and pepper calamari and went and bought it and took it back to her table she was eating it and I took I took the calamari off her plate as she was leaving and looked at her and said you're like that waitress is such a rude bitch she should not be working in hospitality i made eye contact thanks and just started nibbling at she must have been that entitled bitch no she would look at you and be like oh my god that's that's that girl britney hockley she's eating that dinner she's a mole was a lifer not a lifer anymore what did you did you go and apologize i did not i did not
Starting point is 00:20:29 i just doubled down i didn't double down i didn't go back for more okay stop it that your fucking laugh it's the best it is the best part of the story well it's definitely better than me eating someone's calamari yeah i will never forget that feeling that moment because i don't get the embarrassed moment often i'll never forget the realization where i was like oh fuck i do i do think in that instance you should have gone over and been like hey i'm so sorry i did i gave her a wave can i have some more yeah no of course i didn't just smoke bomb and leave but i did was the way that we looked she saw my realization and the panic in my eyes she saw that and i know she saw that we had a moment that
Starting point is 00:21:16 no one will ever understand that's how brit sleeps at night oh yeah i think you're reading into it more she was just looking at you like i want my calamari back there she's like what the fuck security. Speaking of weird looks that people give each other, Laura, this next one was from you. It was actually an episode that you and I recorded when you were in Bali and it had to do with something that happened to you on a plane. So we were sitting there and it was at the same time that it was the food service that had come out. And there was lots of smells happening, lots of smells because everyone was opening their food at the same time. And I lent to my sister because she's traveling with me. And I was like, Alicia, what does that smell? And she was like,
Starting point is 00:21:53 I think it's just the food trolley. And I was like, I think it smells like shit. Like if that's the food, we're all in a bit of trouble here, Qantas. Usually it's the food that makes you shit. But when it starts by smelling like it, not a good start. This is not a good start. Anyway. So then the smell was growing stronger and the trolley was kind of coming up the aisle. So I thought maybe is the food. And then after about five minutes, I looked down at the toddler who's two and a half sitting next to me and i was like oh that's not food this child has shit their pants they've shit their pants they're they're they're wearing a nappy and they have shit themselves and then it was confirmed because the mother lent over she did that like the mother obligatory like
Starting point is 00:22:35 you pull the back of the pants out you look what's inside and she like she clocked it she was like oh yeah can i ask do you look or do you sniff both sometimes you stick a finger in there really Play the roulette game. Fuck off, you do not. That's disgusting. You do not put a finger in there. Pinky, the sticky. Like a dipstick.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Do you put your finger in there? It's like diaper roulette. You just stick it in the side and figure it out. Then what happens when you come out with shit on your finger? Well, you know they've shit themselves and you've got to change their nappy. Surely there's a better way. The more annoying thing about it, the reason why I told this story. was because the mum clocked it and then audibly said to her partner,
Starting point is 00:23:18 oh, I'll do it after the food service. And I was like, I will not eat my curry and smell your kid's shit for the next 25 minutes. I will not eat my curry and smell your curry. That you can't, A, you can't stick your finger in shit to check if there's shit. Two, you can't let your kid run around in shit while people are eating within like a half a metre radius.
Starting point is 00:23:37 But I disagree. I think a lot of parents out there have tried the dipstick measure. It doesn't work well or it's very effective and then you never do it again. So pointing your finger around. You're waving that pretty finger. In the leg hole, not through the top, just through the side. And then you're like, yeah. Coming out with a piece of corn.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Carrot. It's always carrot. Where the fuck did they get carrot from? Who knows? Lucky dip. The next one I've got for you has to do with something that happened with your wedding invitations, Britt. Half of our wedding is foreign.
Starting point is 00:24:07 So we sent the invites out and Ben's like, babe, I've been getting like these random messages about the wedding just just like yesterday one of my friends messaged me and went dress code question mark and so Ben wrote back and was like oh yeah sorry Brit set the dress code and he was like okay he's like but what is it done no because we put the dress code on there done nothing a day later one of his other friends gets a message hey mate the missus wants to ask about the dress code question mark question mark this happens four or five times and then one of his female friends messages hey I just wanted to follow up about the dress code and he's like yes what is the problem then brit wrote the dress code i think
Starting point is 00:24:44 it's okay and she was like well how strict is it and he was like well pretty strict i guess it's what she's decided she wants and she's like well what if it doesn't go with my dress and he's like i'm sure whatever's gonna go he's like he was like i'm so confused he's like i'm sure it's going to be fine britney's like only if you're wearing gucci crocs and she goes and she goes I just think it's a bit extreme. And he was like, I don't understand what the problem is. He's like, I'm sorry, the dress code's not extreme and I think that you'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:25:14 And this goes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. I'm not involved yet, right? He sends me this conversation. And then she goes, well, I don't understand how she's going to know if I wear it. And he's like, she's going to know. She's going to see it. And she's like, well, that's a bit perverted.
Starting point is 00:25:28 And he's like, I don't understand. And she's like, who in their right mind would make us wear and enforce no thongs? and then ben was like ben was like they're gonna be on your feet she'll see them and she went hang on feet and he was like yeah your feet and she was like but a thong is a g-string he was like oh my god there is a language barrier here so ben calls me and he goes babe half of the wedding things you've said they're not allowed to wear g-strings strict enforcement so i had to get All briefs or nothing.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Bridget Jones or nothing. And it makes so much sense why so many people were messaging and being like, dress code, question mark. Do you remember when it was our wedding? So like when Matt and I got married, we made one of those like, I don't know, is it a wed shed or a wed whatever? It's like you go online and you fill it all out online. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:21 And you put all of the information for the wedding on like a little website, right? Yeah, that's what I did. Yeah, it's the same type of thing. And so that's where you put your dress code and everything. Yeah, except Britt and I never got it. yeah well probably a good thing so we we made this website and I didn't realize that like because I mean it was pre-covid and like we're pretty fucking unorganized and I asked Matt to fill
Starting point is 00:26:42 out half of it and I filled out half of it part of his thing to fill out was the dress code and he had just like because you have to populate before you can move on to the next page so he populated some things without it being serious just so that we could flick through to the next page to put all the important information in and he had every intention to go back and fix those things like a placeholder yeah yeah except he didn't go back and didn't fix those things and so we sent out our wedding invitation with the dress code dress sexy and that went out dress sexy that's okay ben's nana got no g-strings just imagining you're gonna have one of those mirrored aisles
Starting point is 00:27:22 that was a funny chat just imagining everyone rocking up to your wedding and they're all wearing thongs but on their feet g-strings on your feet it's no one's doing that they could you will i bet you they're banned you can't that story also made like international news i think it made the new york post or something like every so often we're like oh wow the podcast hit international news and that's the sort of shit that gets repopulated none of the deep stuff no it went it went bonkers i was getting people messaging me from all over the world i think there's like journalists from another country it was like can you comment i was like no comment I was like, listen to the podcast.
Starting point is 00:27:59 No comment. I commento. Noble commento. This next funny bit is one of the most disgusting things and I still hate it. In following for a while, you know that I use the menstrual cup, like the period cup. I don't use tampons or pads anymore.
Starting point is 00:28:14 I haven't for years. But I have always until recently used a period cup that came in like a sash, like you keep it in a little bag. A little bag. Yeah, like a little bag. Like a little baggie for your period cup. Yeah, I wouldn't know what a baggie is. But, yeah, it's a tiny little baggie, everyone.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Okay, druggie. Laura in her 30s doesn't know. Laura in her 20s. Laura in her 20s could have told you. Yeah, so it just used to be a bag that you tied it to sides, which was fine because you cleaned your period cup and wiped it dry and you put it in. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:28:44 So after you use a menstrual cup, you usually put it into a cup of boiling water and you let it soak and that's how you clean it. Process. Same mug that you make your tea in. Yes, that's what I do, yeah. Yeah, I lick it after Laura, dry. Some people, poor Jono, the only guy in the room is like, what's a period?
Starting point is 00:29:02 Some people pour their menstrual blood into their houseplants. That's what I do. They pour it into their houseplants and apparently it's really good for your plants. Yeah, I don't actually use a period cup. For the week I have my period, I just cock a leg over my plant. You just hang out over your. You got me, Laura.
Starting point is 00:29:18 You got me. Hang out over your monstera. Everyone's like, what are you doing? And I'm like, just chill it. I can't come out this week. I'm fertilising. you know any plan chat gets me going i'm ready we're so rank but good rank do you think i need a disclaimer that to tell people i don't cock a leg over my it was very convincing because you
Starting point is 00:29:40 were straight in there like oh that's what i do you actually said it's so deadpan that anyone who doesn't know you would think that you actually do pour it into your trees after i've used my teacup also because laura's got no idea how to use a beer cup also not yucking anyone's yum there are people out there who pour their menstrual blood into their plants yeah it's it's genuinely so good can we yuck some people's yum i'm happy to yuck that yum that to me because it would smell it's like recycling no it would smell like metal it's like blood and bone fertilizer which smells funny speaking of things that smell and have to do with our legs sorry laura a lot of these are just really they're quite disgusting why am I so rank it was the fucking best thing I've ever done
Starting point is 00:30:25 with my entire life stop breadcrumbing I went to the blink 182 concert on Friday if you follow my stories I literally sounded like a swifty I was so in my element but it was this moment of just pure fucking nostalgia when I was 18 19 20 I was such an angsty little like I don't know I just finished uni i had this boyfriend who wore black nail polish all the time and i had a little skinny white belt and a skinny belt well like skinny black jeans and then everyone wore that like what's it called it's like a white belt but it's shiny what's the material i'm thinking of like a metallic fake leather but shiny pleather whatever and vinyl i don't know anyway i had that belt and we were all just emo and angry at the world and the reason why friday was so
Starting point is 00:31:07 fucking fun is because it almost felt like satire so it was all these people who when they were that age. So everyone's 40 plus now. We're all grown up. I mean, I'm not quite 40, but we're all grown up. We've got kids, like we've all in a very different phase of life and nobody that was there is probably still emo. Everyone was dressed as though they were emo. Everyone was doing like cosplay to their 18 year old self. So did you cosplay to go? No, I looked very un-emo. It was almost as though like they know so much that nobody who listens to their music is where they were that long ago, but now they can look back on it and laugh because when they were making that music they were also kids who were like angry angsty teens everyone was screaming and dancing
Starting point is 00:31:47 and having so much fun everyone was so nice like so nice and i screamed and danced aren't mean laura but they're sad and they hate everything nice yeah but last time i went to a blink 182 concert i was 18 years old the mosh pit was so crazy everyone was like that i got smashed up against the front of the barricade and had to get saved by a security guard this was very different I was laughing and I was laughing and singing so hard and then at one point I was crying but then I was also simultaneously crying from my vagina because my pelvic floor is so bad so it just everything felt really full circle and it was actually wet yourself several times yeah do you know what did you wet yourself from excitement or from like laxity both i know i make a lot of jokes about
Starting point is 00:32:38 my pelvic floor but i would say it's actually not that bad but there's something about the pressure of jumping up and down and simultaneously screaming at the top of your lungs that really just forced any last drops out down my legs and into my boots so that was my weekend i can't tell if you're taking the piss no pun intended but i can't tell if you're taking the piss or if you were actually weighing into your shoes weighing into my shoes i weighed into my shoes twice it was so euphoric i pissed into my shoes twice i didn't really think about the logistics of you literally walking around with a puddle in your shoe it's like you've been at a festival but it's rainwater i am not urine i experienced something similar to this recently
Starting point is 00:33:19 i was jumping on a trampoline and i wet myself just like last week so like you know it's the jumping it's the gravity it gets the laxity it's the laxity it grips you at the bottom of the jump and then as you spring back up the liquid comes straight out yeah straight down your legs I was crying from all ends my days this takes us into our very last hilarious moment of the year it kind of has to do with aging something else that happened it has to do with my neighbor just friendly neighbor wars so I live next door to two very elderly women but she's pretty much just on her own next door so we try and keep an eye out for her and you know do our best to make sure that she's okay look for signs of life and I know that sounds grim but it's kind of the truth is this the
Starting point is 00:34:05 same neighbor that complained about you having your bathroom light on no that's another neighbor that's the other side this is the neighbor like we live in a duplex so this is a neighbor that we share a wall with right okay so we can also we know that she's okay because we can hear scuffling around no her tv she blasts it and we have thin walls she always says to me like oh you know. I can hear everything that your children are doing next door. I'm like, I know I can hear them all the time too, unfortunately. Sorry about that. So on Friday night, I get home from work at like 5pm and I noticed that her groceries are on the doorstep, which is so unusual for her because you've got to think like when you're elderly and you don't leave your house very often, getting a
Starting point is 00:34:45 grocery delivery is a big deal. Like you know that your groceries are coming. It's not something that you can just forget about because you've been out and you've been busy. So I got home five o'clock, groceries are there and I mentioned it to Matt and he's like yeah they've been there all day and I was like oh that makes me feel weird anyway eight o'clock stuck my head out groceries were still there so you know I banged on the door she didn't answer the door and I was like oh I feel really uncomfortable by this yeah you know she doesn't just pop out all the time no yeah 10 o'clock groceries still at the door well yeah fair I think if they're there at 10 they're probably gonna stay the night I think yeah these groceries are settled in and it's
Starting point is 00:35:22 like a full like I'm talking like a full shop of groceries not like one little bag from Uber Eats I'm talking this is like her week's worth of groceries so I tried I tried like Matt and I had been intimately knocking for like over that hour so she hadn't answered the door and I was like I feel like she would be inside like where is she gonna go she's not left she's not gone anywhere none of the lights are on though so it means that she's either completely not home which would be weird to get her groceries and not be home or she's very unwell so anyway had a fall or something? Yeah. I've never been in a situation where I had to call for like a welfare check before. So I didn't know what the process was to call for a welfare check. So I called emergency
Starting point is 00:36:00 and I was like, I'm so sorry if this is not an emergency, but I think my neighbor might be inside her house. I really don't know the process of calling for a welfare check, gave them the address. Anyway, they were so good. And I think you often hear negative feedback about police. Like very, very rarely do people say oh my god the police were actually exceptional so the guy had me on the phone whilst I was still on the phone I could hear the sirens coming that's how quickly they arrived within two minutes I must have been doing a Bondi drug bust it was a quiet day in Bondi so two minutes they were there they were on our street and they're like don't worry we'll take care of it I thought that would be the last that I would hear of it unless there was some terrible
Starting point is 00:36:39 news right so a half an hour later I stick my head out oh there is not one cop car there is five cop cars like this street is fully packed with cop cars there is also a police rescue van that has now arrived on the street like a full you know the big massive police rescue that's got it printed down the side like the massive like truck things imagine if she was like the head of the drug ring in one night it was like all happening in her house iris is there so it's like biggest bust of the year our street was like blocked off by this police rescue squad that had come anyway we get a knock on the door by then it's like 11 o'clock so a bit more time's past and he's like you know we can't get inside we've been knocking for over an hour to try and
Starting point is 00:37:19 get inside we're also very concerned now he's like you know has this ever been happened before where gross have been left out I was like no never I would not have called unless this was a really like unusual situation anyway they go to the back to start picking the lock they can't pick the lock so then they start to kick the door down and at that point we're all like fuck man this is grim i just picture that you know how they have those big heavy metal black things that they use that's what they do they fucking like whack in this door so there's they've got a team of like 10 people anyway i don't even know it's a good outcome but then you hear this what's going on oh my god so fuck so iris was asleep and i didn't know that iris is also deaf and that's why she
Starting point is 00:38:11 Iris was just having a nap? TV on. I imagine waking up from your nap. Imagine fucking being so cooked from the week. You wake up from your nap and there's 25 policemen in your lounge room. Iris was just asleep. Poor Iris. She'd gone to bed early and she also didn't.
Starting point is 00:38:28 What, 4 o'clock? She also didn't know. What's early? 1 o'clock? She didn't know that the groceries were being delivered that day. She thought it was the wrong day. anyway the whole entire fucking police force of bondi were there and i felt so stupid but now she is so mad at us so i saw her on the weekend and i was like hi iris and she's dead she fucking
Starting point is 00:38:52 flipped me off she's like i was in rem do you know i haven't seen iris in a while i don't know how you want me to like segue into the next chapter of our year in review but this one in particular was probably the biggest moment of our year and i'm saying that about all of us our year collectively we put a video of this on instagram and it has been watched for a total of four years and eight days it's had over six million views and it's the moment that Brit told us that she got engaged. I've been single for the better part of 10 years and I was always a single friend watching all my friends fall in love which made me so happy but it was definitely
Starting point is 00:39:39 hard because I love love and I started to think maybe it wasn't for me. We love love. Then in 2022 I met this amazing guy but he lived overseas. My friends were really concerned because long distance is never easy and I've always had commitment issues but this time it felt different and I thought he was worth it. Flash forward to now and I've never been happier. And last week on a beautiful island, he asked me to be his wife. You cried? And I just want to know what's a cute way to tell my friends
Starting point is 00:40:06 that I'm getting married. Wait. Spoiler. It's me. how did you leave it to the third question because you've got diarrhea i was gonna tell you on monday sorry about all the might bumps in this guys it was a lot wasn't the priority
Starting point is 00:40:45 oh my heart I'm like bawling I've been waiting so long to tell you guys oh this is such a nice moment I cry every time I watch this your shit your diarrhea ruined my moment your diarrhea overshadowed
Starting point is 00:41:20 my engagement standard classic in true life can you believe it oh my gosh um no this i'm shaking i've been waiting to tell you guys oh my god honey i can't believe you kept it in oh then we're so happy for you we're so happy for you jonah with the confetti jonah you you told jonah before you told us I told Jono before you told me. I'm still dirty about that. You're so angry. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:41:49 You're the cutest. This was the funniest. Jono got Brit a veil. You put a veil on. Okay, Brit, I hate how much I was just, like, doing admin work on my laptop and I was, like, listening to this. And then when you got emotional, I was like, maybe she's emotional because, like, you know, she really hopes that this is her.
Starting point is 00:42:06 And I looked up and I could just see this massive ring on your finger and i was like what sorry for my swearing i was reading the question and maybe when you go and listen back you'll hear it like i was looking for it in our email so i could copy it over into the show that's so funny because i was like what you know i've waited my entire life for this moment five years of this podcast we've spoken i love i can't stop shaking so i was like i need to tell them in a really cute way so i'm still crying i'm about to shit my pants again hey you've overshadowed my moment once with your poop keep it in this ain't it i can't oh my god i'm leaking from everywhere
Starting point is 00:42:58 oh my god honey i'm so happy for you i love you so much i'm so happy for you oh my god i have so many things and but we have to keep it for tuesday that's a real fucking cliffhanger guys breadcrumb tuesday yeah we'll unpack it all on tuesday because what i will say is like it was the most incredible day that is i couldn't have possibly loved a moment more than that morning not just that i told you guys got engaged i was gonna say not the proposal no but like that moment every single thing about it how well that question came off that you guys didn't clock in the fact that you had diarrhea the comedy that was in there the production by jono the confetti the the timing that like the
Starting point is 00:43:53 moment as a whole was just it has to be one of my favorite moments of our podcast and of our friendship and like the diarrhea was the perfect comedic timing that was unintentional the fact that I couldn't tell you guys I got engaged for over a week because you were shitting yourself it could not have been better we should add some context to that so the reason that Brit didn't tell us all on the day that we would normally record which would come out on a Tuesday was because Laura was really sick and so she was like hey I'm so sorry I can't come to work can you guys do the episode together so Britt and I had recorded just like a normal episode and we'd made jokes in that episode about the fact that like I didn't get engaged this would be a really good spot to get
Starting point is 00:44:33 proposed I had full-blown gastro and look it was a lot and I was trying to keep the gastro inside my body even with that announcement but I obviously couldn't come I was sick right so I called in sick on the Tuesday which like never ever happens like I don't think I've ever had a day off from being sick I know so that was wild in itself I know but then so Ben had been messaging me about rings for quite a while like we'd been back and forth in maybe like three months prior and he had said that he planned on doing it when he was here and I know that you had said that you were going away on this trip and you kind of thought that maybe this would be the trip and then nothing came of it like you didn't say anything and this was days and days later so we had just all assumed that he
Starting point is 00:45:15 didn't actually do it and I was like when the fuck is he gonna mate I was like he's really stretching this out isn't he and so I kind of was so sure but then because so much time had passed and you hadn't told us it's what made me second guess and I didn't want to bring it up with you because I was so worried that like you don't want to rub it in salt in the wound hey so did he not propose again I could not believe how like I had prepped it in my head I was so excited it is the hardest secret to keep. I could not believe Laura messaging that morning saying, I can't come today. I'm on the toilet with diarrhea. I was like, you're fucking kidding me. I was like, I've got to sit on this for days, for two more days. But what I also do want to say is it's so
Starting point is 00:45:58 nice. And I feel so lucky that we have that moment to reflect on forever. But talking about you guys showing up for us, you know, that was how I said at the start, you guys showed up with the embryos, you guys showed up with this moment and I guess a part of me forgets that you guys have been on this journey with me my love journey from the beginning starting from The Bachelor like on a national tv show before the podcast you guys came along the whole podcast the highs and the lows and the love I have never felt more love from people in my life than when you guys turned up when I got engaged like and I just want to say thank you it was I just don't have words for like the family that we have here it was really really special I think what was really funny is that the
Starting point is 00:46:41 same type of comment coming through online because this video went like bananas it went it went well it was yeah proper proper viral and so many people were commenting I have no idea who these girls are but I want them as my friends because it was just that beautiful moment that you get to share something really special about your life with your friends and I still can't believe to this day that you kept it a secret you did so well because we talk like we are texting each other if a day goes by where we don't have upwards of 40 messages within our group chat it would surprise me it was honestly for all of us you know and like there's been there's been big moments on this podcast over the last five years and i think it was one of it was all of our favorite moment like
Starting point is 00:47:20 yeah all of it because you're like hey fuck someone's taking off my hands i like felt sorry for ben i felt sorry for ben because like the announcement video went so so viral yeah you I mean he wasn't in it no it's actually so sweet he watches that video back all the time all the time he loves it so much he loves the friendship he loves the moment he loves how I felt like it's his favorite video to watch the engagement video went very well as well but this was the moment that yeah I think people were like that is cool that is like friendship Well, I also think it just, it's so deeply links back to the core values of what Life Uncut was started around and, you know, it was like really one of the things that, you
Starting point is 00:48:07 know, when we started Life Uncut and then everyone that jumped on board during COVID, the big feedback that we'd received was like how it was like having friends through COVID and being part of this friendship group. And we joke about it because obviously the most important part of that is the fact that it's you and Ben, but sorry, Ben, you don't get a look in that video. imagine it's our engagement we're engaged imagine our wedding and it's like another moment goes viral it's just us and ben's not in it that's it we'll hero ben at the wedding hey oh yeah whatever let's make it about content give him a couple seconds here this will be a nice little
Starting point is 00:48:42 thing we also recorded a whole episode about your engagement story and i will link that in a year in review so if you want to go back and have a listen to how the proposal all happened and that kind of thing. Ben was on that episode. Well, no, we just did the Spotify wrapped. Just so you guys know, that episode was the most downloaded episode of the year. So Ben, you always have that. You always have that. Well, kicking off the chapter of some of our biggest and favorite interviews of the year was my personal favorite interview that you guys did this year. And it was with Elizabeth Gilbert. I was telling some of my friends at the beach yesterday about this interview because they both missed it. They both listened to the podcast and
Starting point is 00:49:20 And I was like, no, no, no, this is the one that if you have to go back and listen to anything, you have to listen to this interview. Elizabeth Gilbert, she wrote Eat, Pray, Love. She wrote Committed. She's written a whole bunch of books ever since. And she has one of the most unique and interesting life stories I have ever heard. So she said with you guys that, you know, if you've seen Eat, Pray, Love, she ended up marrying the Bali guy and she was with him for 12 years.
Starting point is 00:49:42 And during the course of that marriage, it was a really good marriage. And she found this friendship with this woman named Raya, who she later realized she was in love with. And that was a situation that was quite unique in itself because her and Raya didn't want to hurt her husband. And her husband was also friends with Raya. Anyway, Raya ended up being diagnosed with a terminal illness. And that was when Elizabeth and her husband spoke about separating because Elizabeth needed to go and be with Raya. And Raya and Elizabeth had this beautiful love story. But during that time, it came out that Raya had previously been a drug addict and while she was on treatment for this terminal illness she kind of slipped back into
Starting point is 00:50:21 the patterns of drug abuse and it was a really challenging time for Elizabeth to experience with someone that she loved. I love this episode not just because of Elizabeth's stories that part of it is is still only a small part of the interview like there were so many life lessons in this there were conversations around aging and beauty our beauty standards as women but also the thing that I took from it and I really, really loved is I think normally, if you were to interview someone or speak to someone who had been through two big relationships, two big divorces, there could be an element of judgment there. Like it's not as though she's figured out what a perfect relationship looks like. She doesn't come to this with like the life advice of someone who has lived a perfect
Starting point is 00:51:01 on paper love story and like has the relationship advice figured out. She's quite flawed and she's figuring it out on her way as well. And I think it's this real sort of self-reflection and brutal honesty, which is just like incredibly beautiful. It was absolutely one of my favorite interviews of the year. There's just one more part that I want to add to our conversation now, because it's not the part that you're about to hear of the interview of Elizabeth, but she had one of the most beautiful moments that I've ever witnessed in any interview. Earlier in the chat with you guys, she had spoken about how Raya had told her before she died, you will see me. I will be around you until you're able to stand on your own two feet until you're able to be completely independent
Starting point is 00:51:39 and emotionally autonomous and right at the end of the chat you guys had spoken about so many different things and she had this moment where she said you know i'm seeing ray a lesson less now and i i'm really glad i had this chat with you girls because i think i'm i've just realized i've had this realization that the reason i'm seeing her less is because i must be standing on my own two feet i feel like emotionally emotional talking about it because i thought wow what a really beautiful thing to witness in an interview. You know, that was really special for us. That was really, really cool. But this little segment that we're about to put in for our year in review is about why being single needs a rebrand. And it's Elizabeth's experience of being a better
Starting point is 00:52:19 person when she's not in a relationship. Liz, you've spoken a lot and written a lot about pouring yourself wholeheartedly, completely into relationships and giving everything to that relationship and then as we know they hadn't worked out for you a few times what do you think you've learned from heartbreak and from those experiences from being in such a relationship like that and putting the pieces back together well i i just want to say i really did the research y'all like i like i have i went out there i really did the research like i went out there hell bent to find like the platonic ideal of romantic love, to find a soulmate, to find perfect love multiple times, you know, and I've tried like every possible kind of combination of
Starting point is 00:53:08 ways that you can do it. You know, like I've been with men and I've been with women and I've been in open relationships and I've been in closed relationships and I've cheated on people and I've been cheated on and I've tried to be with somebody who loved me more than I loved them and been with people who I loved more than they loved me. You know, like, I tried to be with people I didn't really love, but liked and then tried to be with people that I was obsessed with. And like, I really do feel that I put the years in, you know, like, I really put the years in. And some of those, I really did, man, I did the work, so you don't have to. But I guess we, you know, we all have to do the work that we have to do. This wonderful thing happened after my second
Starting point is 00:53:48 divorce my mom wrote to my grandmother who at the time was almost 100 and said Liz is getting divorced and I must have said Liz is getting divorced and my grandmother I was going through my grandmother's things when she died and I found this note that my grandmother wrote back to my mother that I cherish and she said maybe Liz just doesn't like being married and I was like you know grandma maude i think you're right i think i think that maybe all that trying to make it work with like one person after another person after another person after another person and just always finding disappointment somehow always finding heartbreak or disappointment or boredom or ambivalence or or shatteredness or devastation like it might be that after 35
Starting point is 00:54:44 uninterrupted years of doing that the universe was like are you getting the pattern are you starting to notice that maybe you just don't like this and have you noticed that you really like being by yourself. And all of that sort of shatteredness and boredom and ambivalence and trying and striving, when I'm on my own, I don't have any of that. I don't have ambivalence about being on my own. And I always have ambivalence about being in a relationship. Always. No matter how passionate I am about the person, there's always a part of me that's like, but is this the right person, the right time, the right thing, the right way. And because I'm passionate and because I'm intense and because I haven't had great boundaries, my answer to ambivalence is to just double down.
Starting point is 00:55:40 It's like, well, just pour more of yourself into it. Like make it work by just pouring even more into this person until there's really nothing left of me. So I'm starting to get the message that where I seem to really bloom is the way I've been living for the last almost six years, which is single and solitary and emotionally autonomous is the word that I keep using because all of that energy and emotion that I've poured into the other, I suddenly have freed up. It's like a reserve or a reservoir of just this massive amount of energy, this massive amount of energy that I'm pouring now into my spiritual work, into my creative work. I've written three books in the last six years. It used to take me four or five years to write one book, but it's because I was
Starting point is 00:56:30 shunting and draining so much of myself into creating, sustaining, leaving, managing these intimate sexual and emotional relationships. I feel like I'm having this tremendous renaissance. I have a friend who wrote a book about menopause and said that in some African cultures, menopause is called second childhood because you're not menstruating anymore you're not sexualized you're free you know and there's this that's the feeling that i feel right now is just i'm going to costa rica for three months and two days and i don't have to ask anyone i can do that like i don't have to i don't have to run it by anybody i'm just like oh well you people invite me to things and I'm like yeah or no like there's none of this negotiating like it's
Starting point is 00:57:20 this so emotional autonomy is what I think the second half of my life is going to be all about and I think there's a blossoming happening that feels more ecstatically alive than anything I've experienced yet Liz you are the living version of that meme where it says my friends who don't have kids or a relationship are like, hey, you want to go to Africa on the weekend? They're like, sure. The way you just sell the fact that like you're so comfortable in your own skin and in your own company is such a beautiful thing that I don't think a lot of people ever get to truly experience. Well, traditionally, women have never gotten to experience it. Women's jobs throughout history in all traditional societies, which is all societies, have been jobs of service.
Starting point is 00:58:06 and it's chilling. And I knew this when I wrote the book Committed and I got married again anyway, and I don't regret it because I loved the 12 years that I spent with my Brazilian husband. I loved those years. And then it was time to move on. But I did this research when I wrote the book Committed because I had such ambivalence about marriage. And it's devastating to see the statistics, what marriage does to women. There's not a single sociological data point at which married women do not fall so far below unmarried women married women don't live as long as single women they're more likely to report being depressed and anxious they're more heavily medicated on average they weigh 10 pounds more they they have more autoimmune diseases
Starting point is 00:58:54 they have more addiction they're more likely to die of suicide or homicide most likely person to kill them being their partner like it's so freaking grim and it's because we pour our life our actual life force into the people that we love it may be from just having all this estrogen that tells you to nurture but it's like you literally like the the job of women like biologically and traditionally has been empty into you know like out of your body will come life from your breasts will come milk from your hands will come food for the entire family from your heart will come the love that nourishes everyone and deplete yourself and just be depleted into love right and on the other hand married men fucking thrive it is the best idea that a man can have to marry a
Starting point is 00:59:48 woman they will live on average seven to ten years longer than single men all the opposite things will happen they are healthier they are less likely to suffer from addiction they take care of their health better they're more likely to hold property married women much less likely to hold money and property than single women like it's incredible the benefit it's called the marriage benefit imbalance about how much more strongly marriage benefits men than women and and yet culture because it's opposite day pours into women like as though they are like foie gras geese force feces women this story that without this union you are incomplete when in fact be wary I think it's taken me 55 years and two marriages and many many more relationships and
Starting point is 01:00:38 watching myself again and again and again deplete deplete deplete into the other and see them shine and rise because I'm uplifting them and I'm supporting them and I'm encouraging them and i'm loving them the really big important question to ask in any relationship is who in this relationship is doing the traditional work of the woman and that includes emotional work like who is the one nourishing encouraging uplifting sacrificing tending nurturing and what is the cost to the one who is doing that my friend mark beck was telling me about this sociological data that says the happiest people in culture married married men right up at the top right underneath that unmarried women right underneath that single men right underneath that married women lowest
Starting point is 01:01:28 lowest right so like to to know that that's true and then to see every fucking romantic in the world be like you know or like all it's just the messaging is completely opposite to the reality. And I think that's why so many women in relationships feel crazy because they're like, wait, I was told that reality was this, but what I'm experiencing in my body and in my life and in my bank account and in my energy and in my moods and in my mind is the opposite of what I was told. So I must be crazy. Now that I get to be the crone, you know, I feel like I get to walk around and share illegal knowledge with young women and be like just so you know like look at the data you know um and it's the next interview on our year in review that we wanted to highlight
Starting point is 01:02:26 was a really really special chat with the wonderful tones and i i feel like this was so special because everyone knows tones and i she was such an amazing artist but we had the absolute privilege of having her in one of our live shows down in Melbourne when we did our tour, and we didn't know what to expect. We were just thrilled to have her. We also didn't even know if she was going to show up at the time. We weren't sure. But she did.
Starting point is 01:02:50 We had a backup. We were like, let's do this in case she doesn't show up. But not only did she show up, but she absolutely delivered, and it was so special because Tones will be the first person to say she does not do long-form interviews, if any interviews, so for her to feel comfortable enough with life uncut to give one of the first media interviews ever was a really special thing. Yeah, she did describe you all as a cult and she said that all the life is a part of a cult,
Starting point is 01:03:15 which we're quite happy, you know, the Church of Life Uncut. But also something I think was really powerful about this conversation is how much Tones and I has been so protective of herself because of the backlash that she's received through the scrutiny that came with her rise into stardom, but also the scrutiny around the way that she looked, the way that she presented herself, the comparisons that were made about her not looking the way that a rock star or superstar should look. The reason why she doesn't normally do long-form interviews or any interviews of that matter is because of the fear of the way that people will misconstrue that information and how
Starting point is 01:03:49 the media will use it against her. And that's what she experienced for so long. The thing that's really incredible now is to see her on the other side of that and to see her stepping into her power. And you can see how much her self-confidence has changed since that live show to now. and so much of that is discussed in this episode. You don't really interview. Can you tell us why that is?
Starting point is 01:04:10 You want people to listen to music, you've got to be the whole package. I just want it to be the music. I like this song. I love this song. I love it so much. I'm so proud of it. But the song has started to define me. Beyonce hasn't done that.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Ariana hasn't done that. Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift they've never done what that song has done I wanted to be a busker that's all I wanted I just knew that if my job was to get up and play music every day then I had made it so why should I compare myself to this crazy thing that all the people I look up to haven't done before I did anything whether it was this whether it was meeting new people the smallest social things I could not connect or enjoy the moment because there was this big like shield in front of me that was saying like you're ugly you're gross but I just couldn't put myself out there because the way I felt about myself
Starting point is 01:05:13 was this is going to be what people see it doesn't matter what you do this is offensive looking back i just have no idea how i even did all that i'm speaking from a way more open point than i ever have ever before well tones you don't really interview when we're going to have you at our live show we were like let's just do a deep dive get some background like find out a little bit about you it was quite hard because you don't really speak to many outlets you don't do many media interviews you definitely don't do podcasts can you tell us why that is well honestly I just think that when everything happened at the start of my career people were just making so much out of nothing and mentioning my name was just something that everyone did at a certain point
Starting point is 01:06:07 in time and I just hated that feeling it made me feel so disgusting and so like I didn't like it I wanted to kind of stay underground and I felt like dirty when people made shit up about me and I felt gross like they could say anything and they did there's so much stuff if you really wanted to go look down there that's just not true so I just thought why would I give an inch when you're already taking a mile and saying whatever you want and it just really like made me think why would I give anything to the public when I am literally an Australian singer songwriter that started on the street that went out there and did my thing when no one knew me and I came up through other people's support of me in my honest sense no one fucking looked after me people put me on this
Starting point is 01:07:03 pedestal I was so out of my comfort zone I look like I'm I just crawled out of the gutter I didn't have an aesthetic or a style I was a chubby little girl from the street you just put me up and then you just smashed me so far down like I didn't have a say in anything I have contributed nothing to anything that's ever been in the media about me my thought was why would I give you guys any more to work on I want you to shut the fuck up about me and I think I've grown a lot more as a human being in terms of my strength and knowing who I am and I needed that time to grow and no one gave me that grace I had to give it to myself and now I'm at a point where like you know I'm not going to go and do other podcasts no but like and with me specifically like people were so offended by
Starting point is 01:07:49 how I looked like just so offended that I started pre-empting what people would think before anything was even out and I judged myself as harsh as I could so that I was really prepared for all that criticism and then it wasn't a tactic anymore I just started hating myself so badly that anything I did I just couldn't see a positive reaction to anything I I didn't want to do social media but I don't talk like this because especially now you know I see it so much now I definitely have noticed a lot more positivity in my life yeah this is definitely not like I would say current moment stuff I'm definitely feeling a lot more love and I feel a bit more in my shoes I think my shoes were really big and I was just trying to kind of keep up with everything but also I had to
Starting point is 01:08:40 look great at the same time or something the very next interview that we are highlighting as a part of our year in review was a conversation that went really viral on YouTube it was one of our earlier our YouTube interviews and it's now got over 320,000 views on there. It's with the wonderful Angela White. I wonder why that one went viral. Hey, people Googling Angela White. If you don't know who she is, she is like one of the world's biggest porn stars. And she was such a breath of fresh air to interview because I think if you've ever had any sort of idea or concept around what a porn star or who a porn star would be, she absolutely will redefine what that looks like. oh people have so many preconceived ideas about porn stars and she absolutely blew us away with
Starting point is 01:09:22 how funny she was how intelligent she was how normal she was she's just a wonderful person i loved this episode so much in terms of like your benchmark now okay what you will and won't do what you're comfortable with what makes you uncomfortable has that grown over time like did you walk into the porn industry and go cool i'm only gonna do this kind of porn and then you're like oh I guess I'll do this then it kind of just evolves it's a porn snowball yeah you're like all of a sudden I'm here I actually did girl girl only for eight years really yeah so I've really throughout my entire career I've really had very strong boundaries about about what I will and won't do yeah and it's just always based on this fuck yeah principle so if someone asked me would
Starting point is 01:10:05 you like to do this kind of scene and it isn't an immediate fuck yeah then it's a no yeah I have to be enthusiastically consenting to whatever the scene type is or whatever the act is, or otherwise it's just absolutely a no, I'm not ready. Has that ever impacted you negatively in terms of career opportunities? Cause that has, that's amazing. Cause I think that that's something that people are fearful of. Like when you want to make it in an industry, it doesn't matter what industry is. Some people feel fearful to say no to opportunities. And that's when you can get yourself into situations where you do things you're not comfortable with. No one made you do it but you're doing it because you're fearful of what the no might bring verse you know what I mean
Starting point is 01:10:42 yeah the internet means there's a space for everyone there's a space for every niche there's a space for every body type and there's a space for what you want to do so for me I was very successful only doing girl girl I didn't need to do boy girl it just so happened that I got eight years into my career and I started thinking about boy girl and it was the first time that when I thought about it I didn't have some sort of niggling like oh I don't know which is not a fuck yeah. Eight years in, I thought about Boy Girl and I was like, fuck yeah. It just was just a moment where I felt comfortable. It was the transitional period in my life. It was actually just after I'd graduated from the University of Melbourne. I was like, I want to try something
Starting point is 01:11:21 new. And I started thinking about it and I was like, yeah, this is the right time. Do you actually orgasm for real in these situations? Or is it just like, I'm literally here to act. I've got my scene. I'm just going to go through the motions. for me it's sometimes and it really depends on the environment that the director creates so if we're shooting a gonzo scene which is a an all-sex non-scripted scene which means i'm able to do basically whatever i want with my on-screen partner that is very conducive to real orgasms that is when we're able to connect and really have authentic sex as if the camera wasn't there but if i've been booked for a scene where it's going to be heavily directed and sometimes in
Starting point is 01:12:07 heavily directed scenes the director is not only telling you which positions to go into they're telling you when and they're telling you when to orgasm so they're literally like okay doggy for 10 seconds flip yeah longer always longer five ten seconds no way but are they behind the screen going like in three two one we're missionary in five four three we're dogging not quite like that but yes because of course you're not going to come right yeah i mean it's hard when a man in the corner is like okay come for us now like that and he's not even involved in the scene yeah and some directors say we need an orgasm in every position but that also sounds like half of the people i ever slept with they're like okay come baby come now and i'm like nowhere near it babe
Starting point is 01:12:53 like it's not gonna happen it's time for the next chapter and how could we possibly finish off our year in review without some of your favorite ask uncut from the year we did do a survey this year guys and it was pretty loud and clear that ask uncut was the favorite episode of everyone's week so this one in particular the thing i found the most interesting about this is that when the question came in i thought it was pretty run-of-the-mill we spoke about it we all had opinions on it then we posted a clip of it on instagram and tiktok and on instagram it has now been watched for a it only goes for a minute and 20 seconds but it has been watched for one year 290 days it's had over 2 million views it's still going off i'm still getting notifications
Starting point is 01:13:40 every single day with people that are having like full-on brawls in the comment section sometimes you can't pick what the algorithm is going to serve out because i don't know if this was like one of our most profound Ask Uncuts by any means, but maybe it's one, it's very relatable. And also it just went super, super viral on social media rather than it just being the conversation itself. So some of you guys might remember this, but it's all about whether or not you have to greet your partner and give them some time and attention when you very first get home from work. A boyfriend's default after coming home from work is to go straight to his phone. He watches Instagram reels, long videos, news, stocks, doesn't matter what it is. He's just on his phone.
Starting point is 01:14:21 I have told him before to give me attention for just a few minutes and just be nice to me for a hot second. Then he can go do what he wants. I just want to feel loved. Tonight, Friday night, I'm home from work and I'm looking out onto the balcony and it's a really nice sunset. He comes home, says hi. Now the door is right across from the balcony, so he's very close and goes straight to sit on the sofa and start looking at his phone. I was expecting him to walk over to me, give me a hug and a kiss hello, just say, you know, hey, how was your day? Anyway, I say to him, hey babe, come out on the balcony, it's a beautiful sunset. He says no, doesn't look up from his phone. After a few minutes, I ask him to literally give me attention. They're my words, can you please give me some
Starting point is 01:15:04 attention? He throws his phone down on the carpet and says stop complaining and then storms into the bedroom and doesn't come out for 45 minutes he came out later to the living room and said sorry but he was still upset i asked him to come outside he still didn't want to he thinks i'm being dramatic and that i create this big scene over nothing what do you think is it normal to want to be greeted at the end of the day after a big long day of work or am i expecting something that isn't normal he's watching angela white for sure some dude wrote and i will never forget it because i saw it and i fucking it really tickled me he wrote as a response to that clip on instagram female podcasts of what's wrong in the world okay frank kevin that's female podcasts of what
Starting point is 01:15:52 are wrong in the world also we're women we're not females honestly i'm not a dog if you guys want to go and check out these comments thousands of comments it's it's quite entertaining itself like that comment section is like reality tv yeah but it really shows that it shows you the patriarchy and the misogyny in the world it'll shine a fucking light oh I don't want to be the you know the girl who puts her hand up and says for me this situation I didn't completely agree with both of you on this I think I am part of the division I think it depends on what your partner does for work I think it depends on the mental load that they carry at work sit in the car and look at your phone for five seconds all she's asking for is a hello like a hello is fine you
Starting point is 01:16:28 greet a whole sunset whole sunset we don't know Keisha you deserve better in your relationship 100% if your partner's not greeting you but they greet that it's a hello how was your day and then they can go off yeah if Toblerone has made you think that it's acceptable to walk inside and not even say hello to you he hasn't and this is going to bring the mood down but sometimes his bad days are like inconceivable to us you know like he can have really really awful awful days for people that know he's a doctor and sometimes my point is not all jobs are made equal and not mental loads are made equal i agree but i also think that then that's the exception but if the rule is is that he comes home and doesn't say hello to you his day can't always be the worst day
Starting point is 01:17:13 always forever every day that he needs time to decompress before saying hello to you yes i don't know the division of our comments all over i still feel very passionately about this i don't think you're expecting too much in your relationship to get a hello from your partner at the end of the day that's my thoughts it's the baseline it's the fucking bare minimum on the ground your expectations are too high how dare you expect a hello like come on if he has enough energy to be looking at his stocks which she said sometimes it's stocks he's looking at if he has the energy to be on his phone looking at stocks looking at instagram checking out our youtube angela white he can say hello to his partner okay we still have fired up about this
Starting point is 01:17:53 Go and have a listen to the whole episode. The links are in the show notes. What's the next Ask Uncut? Speaking of being fired up, this one, I would love to play this specifically for you, Britt, because this actually happened when Laura and I were hosting Ask Uncut when you were doing the I'm a celebrity, get me out of here jungle. And it was one of the weirder questions we've ever been asked. I randomly asked my husband when he had his last wank, to which he replied, I don't know,
Starting point is 01:18:19 probably last week. Me being a stay at home mom who is home all the time then asked, was I home? And he so casually responded, oh no, nine times out of 10, I just have a wank at work. Now I'm not here to yuck someone's yum. However, this is not the first partner I've had do this. My question is, is this normal? Why not do it at home? Is it a risk kink thing or is this just something that guys do logistically it's not my thing I don't want to sit in a cubicle and finger blast myself in a public toilet that I'm grateful Laura even if I wanted to Keisha every single time I say I'm going to the toilet you follow me in I need to pee a lot if I say hey guys I'm just going to go to the toilet I shit you not 30 seconds later the door opens and in comes Keisha
Starting point is 01:19:05 I cannot go to the toilet here on my own imagine if I was masturbating just imagine you do go the So no, I don't have to work. I think we need some counselling within our work team. So let's get back to the question. My initial reaction to this was legitimately, what the actual fuck are you talking about? No, this isn't normal. And I decided to do a read of the room.
Starting point is 01:19:27 I asked my boyfriend. He said he's never done it and he's done overnight shifts. So I was like, okay, maybe this is a like dependent on your workplace environment. I had six girls over at my house last night for book club. And I was like, guys, tomorrow on the podcast, I think this is something we're going to talk about. Can I get a read of the room?
Starting point is 01:19:46 What's your go? And what do your partners think? Much more common than I anticipated. Bullshit. How many out of the six? I think it was nearly 50-50. And the 50% who were like, no, were like, I don't know. It's never something that I've asked them.
Starting point is 01:20:01 I've never thought I needed to. So were they saying yes for themselves or yes for their partners? For their partners, yeah. We actually didn't get to ourselves. but I asked about partners first and they responded with things like yeah I think he's done it like in the showers at work you know if they either go for a run or something equal it was the gym apparently it's something that people sometimes do in the shower at the gym that seems really unnecessary men really they don't need a lot do they a lot of them like far
Starting point is 01:20:32 out. Yeah. It's a process for me. I don't know. Wow. I do think men and women, we're speaking mostly like from like a heterosexual position, but like, I would say guys are more likely to do it than what women are, but I'm not ruling out women masturbating at work. I think that there also, there's many more reasons loaded into it. Like female pleasure has been something that's like been very shrouded. It's been very stigmatized for so long. I'm okay with the stigma of wanking at work I'm not that progressive I'm actually okay with being like no that's a bit strange do you imagine if that was the next movement women who wank at work www we want equal rights I'm calling bullshit that 50% of men jack off at work unless you're a porn star they are not doing
Starting point is 01:21:22 it they're not going they're not on their meeting and being like oh my god look at the price of petrol that's gone up it's not happening what kind of workplace are people working at where they're checking out petrol prices well that's obviously the stock market laura i was obviously a finance bro very obvious very that was super obvious jonah you're a guy would you actually you work for us do you work at work not to my knowledge what you think it happens without you knowing that's worse i remember at the time we did a poll on this and it was there was much higher percentage of people who either did or their partners did than what I anticipated. I was really surprised by it. A little follow-up to this. I had a real, I had a real bugbear moment
Starting point is 01:22:06 with Pedestrian. You guys know pedestrian.com, the news outlet. They wrote an article about this segment that we did and they put it on their Instagram and they did some promotional around the article, but the headline was so misleading. The headline made it seem like I was masturbating at work they were like Laura Byrne shares story about masturbating at work and I called them out for it because I was like guys I know all press is good press but like this is just blatantly not okay like to be fair you have a sex podcast so if you're ever going to masturbate at work it's at the sex podcast totally but it was the miss it was how misleading it is to be clickbaity and they ended up fair on them they changed the headline absolutely no acknowledgement to my messages mind
Starting point is 01:22:45 you they just updated the headline yeah after they put a spend behind it after they had like run they'd run a picture of me looking like with like Laura Byrne masturbates at work shock fucking story this is funny now fuck off but like that's not cool no that is not cool we don't mind a little clickbait here and there but you have got the raw end of the stick a few times also with that whole discussion it's like you are doing that because you know that that's shocking and like you're trying to shame me for something I didn't I didn't do I didn't say is shameful but like you tout yourself as being like this feminist progressive publication but yet then you get off and trying to like pin me with something that i'm mad so they masturbated at
Starting point is 01:23:27 work off their article everyone pedestrian masturbates at work over you masturbate and the 2026 campaign that laura is arguing for is equal right equal rights for people who masturbate at work i could think of nothing worse there's not one part of me that is leaving you two and being like i am horny i'm sorry you don't you neither of you do it for me that's so offensive to us you told no don't get me into it you said you'd never make out with me i'd make out with you but i wouldn't go down on you that was the conversation we had actually okay what's the last one okay the very last one was it was arguably the most outrageous it was definitely the one that had the most shock factor and it was about a cheating situation and a second cousin and a baby
Starting point is 01:24:12 there was a lot going on in it wasn't there my cousin has come to me absolutely distraught she confided to me that at a family wedding about two months ago she got very very very drunk and had sex with our second cousin keep in mind she's newly married and her husband couldn't make it to this wedding she was flying solo she also told me that she is pregnant and not 100 sure who the dad is either her husband or her second cousin she has decided just to assume that it's her husband's he's not looking into a paternity test even though we are so close it took her all this time to tell me she is ashamed about it and i think the only reason she has opened up to me is because of the pregnancy my question is is it my place to tell the husband who i am very close
Starting point is 01:25:03 with two for his sake and the baby's sake it could have serious health complications or do i just pretend i know nothing any advice would be appreciated i have no one else to talk about oh my god i can't even speak i firstly just i mean we can all cast a lot of judgment in this and i know that that's we probably will at some point i'm so sorry that you're in the situation now where you have to decide what's the moral right thing to do like it is so unfair and i understand why your cousin needed someone to confide in I'm sure that this is a lot for her to process as well but it is a very unfair situation to be in when someone comes to you with their secret and says I need you to keep this and sometimes you know this happens to us
Starting point is 01:25:45 where people say I need to tell you something but please don't tell anyone and you make that commitment before you know what the thing is and that's so unfair it's trauma dumping it's completely trauma dumping but I also get it too like some I get a therapist go and speak to a therapist, if you've done something that's so like immoral in some ways, you know, I don't want to say, I mean, maybe immoral is not the right word, but it's so scandalous. It's going to rip families apart. Don't confide in someone who that's going to have a massive emotional toll on as well. Go and speak to a therapist or go and speak to a third party. That would be my first advice. And I know that's not the question you asked. No, but taking it while we're there, taking away from the
Starting point is 01:26:22 fact that this is like a cousin thing away from that, it just goes into all, we've had this conversations so many times around cheating when people have written in in this exact instance my friend has been cheating on her husband she told me but i'm so close to the husband do i tell them yeah my my friend's been cheating on his wife should she know like being put in that position is a really awful place to be put in but it happens often so frequently and i guess in this particular situation there's a little sprinkle of spice on top because it's the cousin and the pregnancy it's not just cheating it's a cousin and a pregnancy firstly i just want to i just want to rule something out because you said you know it could have serious health implications
Starting point is 01:27:00 I think that there's a lot of rumors around not rumors but like there's a lot of kind of like urban legend that if you have a kid with your cousin that they're going to have three fingers and seven toes you know I think that we definitely have been brought up to think that people are going to have a lot of genetic mutations if that happens legally within Australia you can marry your cousin the risk or the increased risk of genetic mutation because of that is only three to 6% increase on what that genetic mutation risk already is, which is a very small increase overall. So it goes from 3% to 6%. Oh, sorry. It increases from 3% to 6%. Yeah. And that's just from our research. Yes. So I would say that the risk to the child
Starting point is 01:27:42 is minimal. So I don't think make your decisions off the fact that you think that there's this genetic risk. I think that that probably makes you feel a little bit better morally, depending on what you want to say or where you want to go with this. But I don't think that that should be your motivator like your fear around the child's physical or genetic normalities i don't think should be what propels you to make a decision so like let's just rule that one out and you also can marry your cousin and second cousin that is completely legal that is going to shock a lot of people but you can marry them did you know this has nothing to do with the question but you can also marry your aunt uncle and nieces and nephews which i think is fucked
Starting point is 01:28:18 but you can legally that's worse okay all right yeah brit you start i i do want to be careful with this one because i feel very grateful that we have done this podcast for so long if i had this question five years ago when we started i would have been shook to the core and i would have said there is so much wrong with this you need to tell them you need to have a conversation with her about the baby's health all of this stuff right but we have had so many crazy questions and done so much research over the years that this shocks me less now it really does and i know somebody that has married their cousin i don't think they had kids but i know they got married so i feel like i've been a bit desensitized over the years
Starting point is 01:29:01 from how much exposure i've had to it people listening to this are going to be like what the fuck are you guys talking about this is crazy but morally my head will never get around this Even knowing that 3% chance of there being complications with a baby normally can go to 6% when it's a cousin or second cousin. So it does increase for sure. The problem for me isn't that the baby could be from the second cousin. The problem here just comes back to a standard cheating problem. Now you know you're friends with him, right?
Starting point is 01:29:31 You're friends with the husband and you're close. And now you know that his child might not actually be his. that's a really, really big issue. And it's a big weight on your shoulders to hold too. I feel differently to you, Britt. I think that the cousin thing does play a massive impact. And the reason for that is because there is so much humiliation and shame loaded into this. Obviously she is completely distraught. She sounds like she's distraught. She's humiliated. She got super, super drunk and had sex with someone who she, if she was of sound mind, absolutely would never have had sex with. And that's really, really, really upsetting for her.
Starting point is 01:30:03 I feel terrible for your cousin that she managed to get to a place where she thought that that was normal or okay. But people think it's normal all the time. They marry their cousins. No, no, no. But she clearly doesn't. She clearly didn't think that that was okay. She's woken up with so much regret around this. And I think that that is an awful situation. Let's now unpack the fact that the question that you're asking isn't around the morality of your cousin sleeping with her cousin. Like, you know, that's not around that. The question is, is do you tell her husband. Yeah. Would I tell? No, I wouldn't tell. That doesn't mean that that is the right decision because this is completely, completely subjective. Whatever you feel comfortable with
Starting point is 01:30:44 doing, whether you're, you morally feel like you can live with the decision that you make. I don't feel like I would want to take on the massive amount of responsibility that having that secret and giving that secret up would have. And what I mean by that is it will definitely ruin their marriage, which is not your fault. She has done that herself. It's not your responsibility, but it would also ruin family dynamics and the drama and the stress that that would bring. I don't think I personally have it in me. And maybe that's the wrong thing to take that on board. Conflicting those feelings, however, is that I do believe that that child has the right to grow up knowing who their biological father is. I do believe that there
Starting point is 01:31:24 is like so, there's so much lying and deceit that is loaded into this. And I don't condone any of the behavior. I don't condone the lying. I don't condone the pretending as though the baby is your husband's, but I'm saying I wouldn't have the emotional capacity to take on the truth telling. I don't know whether I would be the one to be holding the moral like compass here and being like, I'm the one who's going to tell everyone. I just don't know. I don't know if I have it in me to do that. But I literally cannot believe, I'm so surprised, and this is probably a horrible thing to say, but I'm so surprised that she's choosing to go ahead and have the baby with the uncertainty around it. And maybe that's because of her own beliefs around abortion, or maybe that's
Starting point is 01:32:05 because she is married and she can't justify to her husband why she would want to have an abortion. Maybe there's more loaded into this. We also don't know what a fertility history is like. You don't know. It might be the only child she thinks she could have. You don't know. yeah I agree I agree where the cousin part for me comes back into it right now that I'm bringing it back in because it is you know we can't deny that she had sex with a cousin if you go to your partner and you say I need to tell you something I I messed up and I cheated on you like I slept with someone else and I'm pregnant and whatever you want to do with that right there is a chance that you will work through that there is a chance for me it's different when you say and it was my
Starting point is 01:32:42 cousin you're never going to work through that you don't I don't think you work through an affair is one thing you know Esther Perel many other people have told us many times that an affair doesn't have to be the end it is for a lot of people and that's okay it's also not for a lot of people which is okay many people work through it depending on the situation but when you throw in the fact that the affair was your cousin it hits different I understand why she doesn't want to tell him I don't think it's the right thing and I think at a minimum she needs to go and get a paternity test I just can't believe she told you you couldn't torture this shit out of me you couldn't you'd tell me if you had sex with your cousin for sure you could waterboard me
Starting point is 01:33:20 and i wouldn't tell you this like there is nothing you could do to me that would make me tell someone this information would you really not tell me if i fucked my cousin and i was pregnant and i was unsure nothing i'm so offended i will tell you everything i will i told you i farted in front of i will die with that secret wow some people need to loose lip sally over here fucking shut up i think you'd tell me i think you could not keep it a secret i think you'd be like yo just don't tell anyone I don't want you to tell me if you do that I would rather not know that's fine I'll take that knowledge I need that knowledge you're fucking your cousin I need to know you can all rest assured that firstly I'm never gonna have sex with my cousin but if I did
Starting point is 01:33:58 I'm not telling you it's never coming out of me imagine if you did an ancestry test like the DNA test and you were related to Jason Momoa your hall pass and then he was like hey let's meet up we've never known each other you just know that there's that loose cousin connection then he was like fuck my cousin's hot you'd fuck him that loose cousin connection to be fair if I found out that Jason Momoa was my cousin and I wasn't married you'd do it yeah but I'm not telling you that he was my cousin I'd tell you I fucked Jason Momoa I'd figure it out nothing gets by me also just don't do answers if you've ever had sex with someone from within your own family don't do a bloodline don't do ancestry.com imagine that like
