Starting point is 00:01:25 Is she taking the piss What's the date, 11th? Honestly I said you can't remember. Oh no, she's just going to crack on. You're all right now? I don't do it off again. So crack on.
Starting point is 00:01:35 How was Italy, darling? Because you've been away for a bit. Oh, it was so nice. I enjoyed the updates. I think we should do a little Italia special with mum. We've got some treats. That would be brilliant.
Starting point is 00:01:48 I didn't bring the stuff. Mommy's going to be fuming. I didn't even get anything. I didn't even get invited. I'm sick of it. Sorry. I'm very, let's do it. Have I got stuff?
Starting point is 00:01:58 Yes. I would love to do a little Italy special. with you and your mum. She would like to do that. Okay. I'm doing it as well. Well, you didn't go? So? I have been before. No. It's my family. My family. But yeah, it was beautiful.
Starting point is 00:02:12 It was really lovely. Yeah, good. Just relaxing. Nice to see all the family. Yeah, just a lovely weather, didn't you? Beautiful weather. We had the beach. It was just, yeah, lovely to see everyone. Good food. Joves to see everyone. They love him. Of course.
Starting point is 00:02:27 But their little one. Yeah. Really, really, really nice. nice. Very good. The flight's different when they were a bit older, isn't it? Yeah, see. How'd it go? The way out was he didn't sleep. I was like, I love his bottle and have a nap.
Starting point is 00:02:40 But obviously because he likes his bed, he don't sleep on me. Oh, I've just realised. What? Is he on milk now? No, not yet. What, you're waiting for the day he turns out? No, I just, no, because I've been in Italy. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:56 So it's just easier to. But now you can do that? Yeah. Ah, that's exciting. A lot of people don't give their children normal milk, though, do they? Why? They use O or? No, there's a bit of a thing about it.
Starting point is 00:03:06 I'll gradually do it. I'm not going to go like, oh, you know, I'll do bits and bobs. It's fine. And I've got some formula to use that. Yeah, I waited until I use a formula then smash it down. Yeah, don't waste it. But yeah, the flight was just, he just wants to be moving around. But yeah, it was fine.
Starting point is 00:03:22 And on the way home, me and mum were got spotted by a lovely one of the stewards, James. He said Natty's spoken to you. before about Amy Hart you're right I remember he was really lovely said hi so shout out to him and also to the two lovely ladies who I think it was Gabrielle and Tegan I could have got that wrong but James if you're listening as you are an avid listener then the two ladies that entertain James the whole way home and he was obsessed with them because we were we got right at the back so that we had a bit more space he was just stood up on me looking behind and they were there and he was just obsessed.
Starting point is 00:04:00 So the way home was, yeah, a lot better. He had a little sleep. But yeah, it's just hard when they want to move around. Such a hard age. He was really good. He was really good. But you just don't forget that. I don't think I ever did those ages. I missed it because of COVID trying to think.
Starting point is 00:04:18 I just feel like you forget that the age you're in now is the worst bit. It's the hardest. The hardest. You don't have a second to yourself. No. Yesterday I just spent, I think, about 45 minutes, just following around the kitchen, just walking behind him.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Making sure he doesn't smash it with himself. Yeah. So in Italy, they had, for Marina, they had one of those, like, cushioned helmet things because obviously in Italy, everything is tight. You know, it's not like here where you've got a bit of carpet or everything's tile. So, Marina, older Marina, auntie, dear Marina,
Starting point is 00:04:50 ended up saying, no, I can't take this anymore and she put it on him and I was like, actually, it's brilliant, because then you're not worried about him, keep smashing his head. That's so funny, but it's funny. But, yeah, it was, yeah. And then, so on the way out, you're like this.
Starting point is 00:05:04 He's got that bottle, the water bottle with the straw. Yeah, the lid sort of opens it and the lid cups, the straw pops out. The power blue one. So mum's got it out for him. We're like row three. She's gone like that. And the whole thing, the water is just squirting right out. Obviously with the pressure.
Starting point is 00:05:23 It went everywhere. Lucky we had some really lovely people. around us. It sounds like you calls K. And then on the way back, we'd forgotten. I did it. Oh, no. Easily done,
Starting point is 00:05:35 no, really. But yeah, thank God for a bit of Miss Rachel. Very good. And food, basically, just lots of snacks. Yeah, no,
Starting point is 00:05:42 it's hard. And you've still got that him trying to walk phase where he's going to take some steps and probably fall. And then start walking but still be a bit wobbling. Well, toddling.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Yeah. Yeah. But again, I don't remember. I felt like mine, to just walk. I don't really remember that still. No, Joanie did a lot of crawling
Starting point is 00:06:02 and then she'd stand up on things a lot. Yeah. But she didn't really walk until she could walk. Because I always remember granddad. I always remember him, go out, she's late. What's wrong with her? Yeah. And Jackie going, she's just, no, it's fine, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:06:14 And then she's just walked. But even now he's at that point of when he does pull himself up. I'm not worried. No. You know, like there's a point where they've, yeah, now he stands on his own. So I'm not worried about that. then now it's then the walking isn't it yeah yeah so yeah fun games but yeah he's gonna be well he won I was I was obviously looking at old photos and so was I
Starting point is 00:06:37 yeah because me and Jack last night we did we were doing some things and funnily enough when I type in James on my phone a lot of Alfie comes up from when he was little and I was looking at videos of Alfie and I was just so sad isn't it but then I was showing in Italy I was showing federal shows sort of the videos from like the C-section and all Like, and I just, I just could cry. Why are you sad when they're one? No, it's every year. No, you're joking.
Starting point is 00:07:03 The night before, every birthday, I've got to go through this every year. No, no, and it only gets worse. Oh, great. Do you know how depressed I was? Eliza turning 15? It's a heart to take it. No, but you're still looking at stuff and thinking, how are they that age? Well, I'll text them earlier earlier because I said, I'm just looking at a Christmas video from last year.
Starting point is 00:07:22 And Alfie and Ruby. Looks so little. Yeah. He looks so, Alfie's got a baby face. Like when they're still a bit chubby. Oh, yeah. And he just looks so growing up now. And then Elia sent a video of Alfie.
Starting point is 00:07:34 How old was he there, El? That was Christmas. Was that his second Christmas? Yeah. So one and a half. His little voice and he's blowing kisses to her. No. And then I'm going to Jack, we haven't got long and this will be Jane.
Starting point is 00:07:46 It's heartbreaking. But no, honestly, I'm dreading Monday night. So be there for me because I feel. Yeah, it's very emotional. It's an emotional time. And also, but it's so weird because you're so happy
Starting point is 00:07:57 with what they're doing and you want the next things. Not that you're rushing, but, you know, I'm trying to get him to talk. He's saying so, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:05 he's saying non-no, he's saying bye, like this morning, bye, bye, and I dropped him off to his, you know, my in-laws and he's actually waving and going,
Starting point is 00:08:13 bye, and I'm like, oh, it's lovely, but then I'm like, no, I want you to be a baby. Yeah, it doesn't start weird. This is a lovely,
Starting point is 00:08:19 I do think all of this now, what they get back, like that video you sent when you get, when Alfie did that you were just overjoyed like you now start getting all these things
Starting point is 00:08:27 which is lovely and they read or seeing Jack picking us up from the airport yes I can't tell you he's excited
Starting point is 00:08:34 I've took some videos and he's like holding Jack's fat oh it was just so cute and that's lovely because you know or seeing like because we're at
Starting point is 00:08:42 mum and dads when he saw dad he's like his little old possess him yes just what a weird feeling
Starting point is 00:08:48 just all of it we bring people into the world to try and look after them and the whole reason you've brought me in is for them to go I liked what you said
Starting point is 00:08:59 I think it was on a pod where you said when it's your child's birthday it should be a celebration of you as well I like that but it should be because you've birthed them in whatever way that would be
Starting point is 00:09:12 and it was a very emotional day for you and it is every year and what you do I feel like it should be a bit of a celebration of the mum as well I think that's why I do like to go all out
Starting point is 00:09:22 and have a nice time I know and selfishly I feel like back in the day when I did you know we do the first birthdays we don't we then extend it the kids go a bed and we have a nice time but also you're celebrating it's like I'm doing a party for him he doesn't have a clue we're talking about who's seeing him on his actual birthday and I'm like don't worry he doesn't know even press he has not got a clue but you're doing it for I say he hasn't got a clue but you know he'll love the balloons and he enjoy his new toys But even the party, it's going to be a lot for him
Starting point is 00:09:54 because there's lots of people making a fuss but it's for us. It's us celebrating him. That's right. Yeah. And it's a milestone. I don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:04 No, we'll have a lovely time. Yeah, no. And I just bumped into one of our good friends and was talking and said, how's her son who's now not a little boy, you know, in his 20s? And talking about, you know, he's got a girlfriend and doing this. And she's sort of saying all the things that I'm like, Oh my God, I'm dreading it.
Starting point is 00:10:22 She said, but I have to let him do it. But you can't imagine it at this age. It's as they get older, it's amazing. It just grows with you. But Alphabet said, don't to me the other day. What did he say? I was saying he's obsessed with money and saving because he's got his premium bonds.
Starting point is 00:10:39 He always asks me what he's won and that. And he says, can I buy a house with that? I'm like, no, mate, not yet. But when you're older, I said, I'm hoping with your savings, you'll be able to buy yourself a little car. or, you know, you can get yourself a little blat. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:53 And then he was like, when I drive, how old I said, you'll be 17? And he said, will you still be here? I said, well, I bloody hope so. Oh, bless you. I said, I won't be that old, mate. It was like, oh, good, so I can drive you around. So weird. So weird.
Starting point is 00:11:07 You said that. I was drying Joni's hair last night and she was doing the hole. So when I'm 18, you'll be 51. Yeah. And I was like, yeah. And she said, oh, so when Eliz is 18, you're only going to be 45. And I was like, yeah. I remember that.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I remember being at an age and thinking, but when I'm that age, how's my mom and dad going to be? You know what I mean? Yeah, but I do it. I think when he's this age, what will I ask? It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Yeah, it's a funny old thing, but all you can do is just enjoy them. You've got to. And just enjoy and spend time. And, you know, you can, yeah, obviously. But then life carries on and life's busy. And when they start school, time goes even more. more and you don't see them.
Starting point is 00:11:51 Yeah, the school thing. The school thing with Joni, we had such a really lovely summer. And it's actually bamboozling how much you don't see them. I know. Because they're at school. Well, yeah. It's quite mad because I think, oh, you're not here all day. Like, if I'm at home, I think, oh, I hope she comes home soon.
Starting point is 00:12:11 It's a long old time, those school days. Yeah. And don't get me wrong, when you're working and you're really busy, you'd actually you'd extend the bloody school day. And there's different times, isn't there where you're, me dropping him today. I'm like, I don't want you to be gone all day. But at the same time, it helps me because I've got bits that I need to be doing and it allows me time.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And then there's people that have to co-parent and you don't get to see them all the time. Absolutely. You've got that as well. It's a lot. It is a sensitive subject we're talking about now. So please, you know, if you don't want to hear about it, you can switch off. I didn't know whether to mention this or not. But I saw some really sad news.
Starting point is 00:12:49 and I think I'm allowed to talk about it because she put it on Instagram but someone that I worked with lost her baby at 36 weeks and it's so sad it really upset me and I don't know I know that I'm not and it's not about me obviously but you just stop it's just absolutely well it's heartbreaking so many people go through terrible terrible things during pregnancy or we're stillborns or you know all of those things
Starting point is 00:13:14 but people go through so much and you just look at your own children and you just feel so lucky and so grateful all the time and that's all you've got to remember. And it's a lot for people. And I think some people do like talking about what's happened rather than pushing it away under the carpet. Big, big subject. Yeah, no, yeah, no, it just got me thinking like about just mothers in general,
Starting point is 00:13:38 like, what we have to go through and what women have to go through. But then the men that carry that. Yeah, of course. It's also, you know, I think that's another thing is people say, well, why is it just, I know you've carried that child, but the man is, the father, it's awful. No, I was thinking about it as well, because I was thinking,
Starting point is 00:13:55 I think you still get entitled to, like, your maternity leave and it got me thinking, it's just hard, isn't it? Like, you're then coming home, and you're then, do you want that maternity leave? What are you going to do? No, she just don't know if you need it, but yeah, I know, absolutely. But then I was thinking, you know,
Starting point is 00:14:14 and it's not nowhere near the same, but when I came into the, ward after having Alfie and I walked in without a baby and there was everyone with their babies and I think back to that I can't believe they did that no but that's what I said at the time very yeah don't get me wrong my baby was in intensive care like he was
Starting point is 00:14:30 doing fine but but there's a lot of people that that then go on to they could be there for a week and you're surrounded by these new mothers with their baby yeah I agree I was a bit like oh this is awful yeah it's pretty traumatising but again everyone's story is their story there's no right wrong, big, small
Starting point is 00:14:49 I said all of this on Monday's mental health episode with Lovely Lucy who I haven't listened yet you know some people they might break a tea bag
Starting point is 00:14:56 and have a nervous breakdown other people can go for a hundred things and be stronger like everyone's very different in what they can cope with what they can't cope with well I was listening
Starting point is 00:15:04 to something about trauma the other day and it's like the trauma isn't what's happened it's the impact it has after and yeah how people deal with it like everyone can deal with
Starting point is 00:15:15 have a certain level threshold Yeah, yeah. But yeah, anyway, just, yeah, it's just like weird, isn't it? It's just lots of highs and lows. Very much so. Well, I've got the 15-year-old. You've now got a one-year-old.
Starting point is 00:15:28 You've got the ones all in the middle. Middle, I know. Yeah, long way at last and lots of, lots of memories to be made. Well, you've got the eldest. I think Anneson-Dom got the youngest, haven't they? Yes. So, yeah. A plethora of ages, personalities, shapes and sizes.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Yeah, I mean, they are insane. I mean, yeah, that all happens. And to my kids, it's going back to school. All grown up. Nuck, it's just wild. Don't listen. I don't know what's going on. I told you, I did a post, didn't I, Instagram the other day?
Starting point is 00:15:57 She came out of school journey. It was disgust in the behaviour. She chucked her cardigan at me, nearly poked me in the eye of the cardigan, through the bag at me. It was being rude, but as everybody says... I put it against tiredness, getting back into the routine. No, what you have to remember, lovely heather, sent me a message. Discipline at school. It's their safe place.
Starting point is 00:16:16 do they have to be disciplined all day long? If they come out and they're like that, it's because they're in their safe place and that's what you've got to remember. It's a brilliant thing. It's a brilliant thing. Of course it is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:27 It's good. I'd rather than behave like that with me than at school. Oh, nice. Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah, nice. Nice one. Guys, look at my little list. Michaela's just sent me,
Starting point is 00:16:37 this is out of order. Go on. Kayla's just sent me a photo, very good timing mix, of a van with dogs on it that says happy day. Happy? Yeah, it's not happy.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Are they missed a trick? Happy with an eye. Stop it. So it's a mixture of your book and my business venture that never happened. Amazing. Brilliant. Books out today, guys. Woo!
Starting point is 00:17:06 Good, isn't it? Yeah. Can't wait to read it? Where's my copy? We're out tonight, aren't we? And where? Where? Where?
Starting point is 00:17:11 Where? We're talking of that. I just did another reformer Pilates session. Was it, you really like that, didn't you? What's that got to do with the book? I'm going to tell you. Oh, sorry. So as I'm waiting for my class.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Oh, you saw all the signage. What? At the booknuck? No. Oh. I'm at Pilates. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:30 A lady says, are you and that's nice? Oh. I said, yes, I am. Oh, that's lovely. So I'm going to give a shout out to Vic. She said, I'll see you at the wear book launch. She's coming. She'll have got my ticket.
Starting point is 00:17:41 How cute. That's really nice. I'm so absolutely bamboozled, bowled over by everyone who's got tickets to all these events. Thank you so much. The Priory. Oh, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:52 So it's brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Fly Air Transat. Seven time winners. Champions again. By the seven-time world's best leisure airline champions, Air Transat. The Hulu original series, Murdoch, Death and the Family, dives into secrets, deception, murder, and the fall of a powerful dynasty.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Inspired by shocking actual events and drawing from the hit podcast, this series brings the drama to the screen like never before. Starring Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette and Jason Clark. Watch the Hulu original series Murdoch Death and the Family, streaming October 15th on Disney Plus. Have you dyed your hair? I said that. I've done all my roots.
Starting point is 00:18:44 There's still light. It's just where you can only. you see. Looks orange. Oh, nice. Doesn't it? No, I think that's just the lighting. But it looks darker.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Always compliment, you know. No, why is that a bad thing? I don't really want orange hair. Why? No. October, you look like a pumpkin. Oh, that's true. Happy Halloween.
Starting point is 00:19:02 When are you sorting your door out? It's not giving autumn vibes. Oh, I know. I've actually messaged them. Perfect. I'm waiting for them to get back to me. I'm not doing autumn. Oh, it's the best one.
Starting point is 00:19:11 They're not coming to get all the autumn stuff up to then do Christmas. So what are you going to do? Put Christmas up now. Soon, yeah. Fuck, oh no. End of November. I'll get it up at the end of November. I thought you're going to keep that up.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Yeah, that's fine. Oh, that's such a shame. The Halloween one's, autumn's beautiful. My favourite. I'm really enjoying today, guys. The weather. That's lovely. What's seeing us?
Starting point is 00:19:29 No. Oh, what? Being on the pod? Rainy. Oh, really? The rain? Oh, it's quite nice. I like it.
Starting point is 00:19:36 I'm not sure about the rain. All cozy. Just going to look at my list. Why should keep going on? Oh, fuck the hell. What, because I was talking about writing list? Yes. What?
Starting point is 00:19:45 I'm the biggest list of going. Do you want to see how many I've got? Yes, please. I've got quite a lot of lists. Wow. I make a list for the pod. If I hear anything that I want to talk about, I'll whack it on here. I've got 66 notes.
Starting point is 00:19:58 How many have you got? How do you know that? 141. Oh, wow. I do delete mine. Yeah, like look, I write what I've, or to do list like the other day. I put Natalie's obviously come in here. Eliza's presence and cards, swimming bag, monitor, bath stuff.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Oh, you write lists as well Yeah, I'm not apparently the only person in the world He doesn't write a list Yeah, I've started I'm doing it everyone Oh well done I'm trying to No, it is good to
Starting point is 00:20:25 Because I think that's what everything What is it? Mentalise That's the one Everything is in my brain So maybe that's why Because I hold every I don't write anything down
Starting point is 00:20:34 And I don't Yeah, you can't No, I'm not I do a list But that's if I know I'm not busy And I think I've got things to get I've got to go home now
Starting point is 00:20:42 And get some bits I know I will forget Do you write a list when you go on holiday up for what you're packing? Yeah. No. Yeah. Especially now with the baby. The best list I've seen goes to Amy, Jan Lukas's girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:20:59 When we went to Annalisa and Dom's wedding. Yes. One evening I went up to Amy's room and she said, can you tell me what I'm wearing tonight? Just look, she gave me a phone. I said, sorry. And she had a list broken down. She had mood balls. I think.
Starting point is 00:21:15 With photos of the outfits so she knew every day what she was wearing. Oh wow, that's great. I mean, it's incredible. She's got a lot of fucking time on her and I ran to tell you that much, Jane.
Starting point is 00:21:26 But what a great... But then even that stress-free on holiday, you know your outfits. Yeah, but I couldn't do it. No. It would change. I'd be like, oh, I put it on and feel like I look like shit. Cat loves a list.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Does she... Oh, it's how funny. Talking of Cat. Her holiday list is sensational. Is it? Is it? Like, everything. So when we go, wow, I'm like, just send me a list.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Yeah, perfect. Who is it? I remember someone sent me a list when I had, before I had Alfie. I think I've sent it to you after. Yeah. And then I've sent it to, yeah, and it was all the stuff that I need. Sorry, because you mentioned Kat, I've got a little message from her here. Hi, now, it's Kat, Elia's friend and Love of the Pod.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Thanks for all you do. I can't believe it's taking me this long to actually voice note in, but I now have a very good reason to. I was listening to Nax nieces from a couple of weeks ago where Elliot was talking about that she was really good with words and that she'd beaten her dad at Scrabble and I've got a story that actually directly contradicts this. So before Elia and I were friends, I first met her when she interviewed with me
Starting point is 00:22:30 and we're going back 10 years now. And I'll set the scene. It was a boiling hot summer's day. We interviewed in these like glass pod rooms. so not the most relaxing environment for an interview and anyway she came in it was all going well and I noticed that she described herself on her CV as tenacious so I thought I'd put her to the test and ask her what it meant
Starting point is 00:22:53 and she looked at me blankly and started sweating and said I'm really sorry I don't know what that word means and I said so why did you put it on your CV and she just couldn't answer I mean why she actually took a job with me let alone then became one of my very dear friends over the next 10 years, I had no idea. But anyway, I just thought you would like to hear that. Elia doesn't know that I've voiced noted in, so sorry about themselves,
Starting point is 00:23:18 but we knew this story was going to come up at some point. Anyway, love you all loads, lots of love to the Cassidy's, and keep doing. Well done, Cat, what's the gracious D? Nah, and I remember... What does it mean now? I don't know, still don't know. Tenacious is backbone, strong, it's having strength, isn't it, being quite firm. Well, I can tell you that I am tenacious.
Starting point is 00:23:40 I just didn't know. I might have used, been like Joey and used the old phisaurus. Brilliant. And do you know what else? I'd had a blood test. If you remember, we were at Michelle's and I wasn't very well
Starting point is 00:23:52 and I had to go and have a blood test done and she mullered my arm. So I had a blaze, like a dress and a blazer on and I didn't want to take the blazer off. She was a blazer. It was like 10 years ago. Yeah, it was longer. But I was so hot,
Starting point is 00:24:06 but I didn't want to take the blazer off because my arm was a bit wrecked. So I was. sweating. You've got the job, babe. I've got the job. Yeah, what a bitch. Proper, proper mug me off.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Very good. Brilliant. Thanks for that. I need to talk to you. Yep. Well, that's what we're here for. The holiday thing, the free holidays, don't talk bollocks. What?
Starting point is 00:24:28 If someone gave you a free holiday, you're telling me you wouldn't take it. I'd feel very uncomfortable. Right, why? Hey, who's, hey. I'm sorry. She doesn't listen to the pod. I did in Italy. I should make me listen to it.
Starting point is 00:24:42 I was like, I was like, fuck so. No, I was saying that, yes, I take the odd freebie. Of course I do. Yes, it's lovely perks, giving even family members stuff, Lego land that we did.
Starting point is 00:24:54 I get it. I genuinely mean it when I say, I enjoy booking my holiday, going on holiday. You could still book it. Just won't go free. Or you could book another one and get another one for free.
Starting point is 00:25:08 No, because you know why? Well, you're never. getting any free holiday. But we are open, me and Ellie are open, we'll document it, we'll try it all out, we'll give great reviews, we're here. The pressure, you're on holiday. It's a job, but it's a job. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:23 So what's the big deal? It's the same as you doing an advert or same as you promoting something. It's a job. If it was maybe an additional, maybe, yeah, I get what you mean that you're then on holiday and you're having to think about, I've got to do this, I've got to take that, I've got to do it. It's another job on holiday. I know, but it's not that deep.
Starting point is 00:25:41 No, I just think people work hard all year round and they save and save and save for a holiday. No, I know, but you can say that about anything. It's just our, that's my view. I saws, speaking of Lego Land. Yes. Who made a little appearance? You sent us a screenshot the other day.
Starting point is 00:25:59 What? A comment. Oh, is it? Well, I have to say. Did she mention Legoland? No. Yes, she did. Did she did?
Starting point is 00:26:10 You got gifted Lego land for you and your family. When you and your husband are minted, you need to treat the family yourself. You're not being real. From a Lorraine. But that was on where, Spotify? Is it the same one? I'm good.
Starting point is 00:26:28 I reckon so otherwise. Guess who's back? Back again. Rain is back. Yeah, very interesting. We've got a little message here from Lisa. I think. If anyone's called Lorraine and you're really nice messaging, we need to change the dynamic of that name.
Starting point is 00:26:46 I'll get Brian's Lorraine to give us a ring. Yeah, she's lovely. Yeah, that's true. Come on, Lorraine's. Come on out. She's pulling the Lorraine's down. This is a message from Lisa. Hi, Nat.
Starting point is 00:26:54 Another thing about WhatsApp group chats, the school chat, when someone says, hi, some and so is missing a school jumper. Can anyone check if they've got it in their bag? and then every single person proceeds to say I haven't got it no I haven't got it you don't need to say you haven't got it agreed Lisa
Starting point is 00:27:15 just tell me if you have got it thank you Lisa so fucking annoying yeah so is that my lovely Lisa it is from FPN she's an avid listener she always drops me a little message I mean I can't I don't even know where to begin with this
Starting point is 00:27:28 I had to bring up the WhatsApp thing well it's interesting actually because there's a group messages in that we've got to talk about it no it's interesting because I'll have you come home with a little boy's jumper the other day and I knew because the mum was sensible and put the name in the jumper
Starting point is 00:27:42 which is what I do so what I did was I messaged a mum direct I didn't put it in the fucking do you not have to put their name on it is that not well you should you don't have to but if you want to get your clothes back but like you say why or just put a thumbs down if you feel the need to do anything
Starting point is 00:27:58 and also is anyone else the thumbs down or the thumbs up for me is wild or a heart cheers no no just get the information If it's not to do with you Don't answer Then there's 38 people going Cheers
Starting point is 00:28:11 Thumbs up Low I have And I have Because there's two classes In every year I have the class group I then have the
Starting point is 00:28:20 Year group So I've got four fucking groups And some mum's Like to put the same Fucking message In all four I know It's crazy
Starting point is 00:28:30 It is crazy Then the other day I had four In birthday invitations Come through Four And then Why are you shouting so loud
Starting point is 00:28:39 Because I'm annoyed So some people Were not added to the group So they then got added And rescind the four birthday invitations It's non-stop And then it's Oh just to remind you
Starting point is 00:28:50 They've got to bring a teddy in tomorrow Oh there's a lot Read the news letter I read I saw something the other day That was like I've got to do this one for that one That thing for that one That one for that one
Starting point is 00:29:00 I was like It's a full-time job Actually The yeah It is quite a lot I do take a step back We had on our group I don't know who listens from the school
Starting point is 00:29:12 But the Friends group is amazing And Friends is the You know fundraising for the school Which is amazing If you've got time to do that Or you know you're going to be around In five weeks on a certain day You can maybe put your hand up to help
Starting point is 00:29:28 But someone went mad Like there needs to be more people on here It's a disgrace And I thought oh my God people are not coming not doing it because they can't be bothered
Starting point is 00:29:39 people have not got the time in their life it's like quite hard like it made me feel bad but there you go yeah I mean but also like the cheek of it get a grip
Starting point is 00:29:48 I know it was quite a yeah but yeah I mean I'm in a lot of group chat sometimes I just can't I can't respond but that's the other thing
Starting point is 00:29:56 the people that are then responding no not my son how can you be I mean not like what and sometimes I think they must have become rude because I just don't respond But what's there to say?
Starting point is 00:30:05 No, it's not being rude. But what about friends and friends group chats and stuff? What about them? Do you, sometimes, it's not that I don't love them, but I just can't reply to everything all the time. No, you can't. But also sometimes if you're deep into it and you get, some days I could go on, there's like 60 messages. And then I think, oh, I can't go through. But also, I'm not, yeah, I haven't really got that many group chats, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I love the happy birthday thing that made me last. though, isn't it? So true, because it was my friend's birthday the other day. And Rosanna sent a message at like 7 in the morning. I thought you'd take the piss. I'm trying to get the kids right there. I'm trying to type the birthday message. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:30:45 So it was just if it's someone's birthday, but you're on a group chat. Yeah. The person in the morning at half six, on the group chat puts happy birthday. It's like, why are you not messaging them individually? Yeah. Sometimes it's handy, though, because it reminds you. It reminds you. No, see, I don't.
Starting point is 00:31:01 I do message privately. Yeah. I send a private and a video and a voice note No it depends It depends who it is I suppose I mean I don't really have any group WhatsApp I've got hours and lose women We've got free
Starting point is 00:31:16 Yeah we've got more I've got fucking merch I've got styling I've got Nats nieces I've got sisters I've got book club That's five Just me just me and yeah Oh dear
Starting point is 00:31:29 Oh dear And then you've got them on it's Instagram, group chats on Instagram. Yes. Your friends. Mel just creates groups to send hundreds of memes. Did you understand what we did to you the other day? No.
Starting point is 00:31:44 We haven't explained. Can you listen to this? Do you know what? I'm so glad you brought it up. So you've done it on, when Mel put one nil, it was on purpose, you bunch of pricks. Go on. And I even put it in chat, GPT. So I'm in Italy and I get a message saying, from Maria, this message is not a
Starting point is 00:32:03 available in your region and then and then maria put then she barged me out the way the silly beep mel buck off murg maria this message is not available in your region so then i've put guys it says and screenshot it i can't read what's happened mel what did you say that's so bad mel oh my god that's so weird al maria what i said what is wrong with you then the next message this message is not available in your region this message is not available this message you've done that on purpose And then I'm going, no, that's so bad, Mel. Will you text her? No, fuck her.
Starting point is 00:32:37 And I'm like, who is it? Why are they not showing up? This, I've, then I'm going, Mel, can you screenshot it and send it to me? Mel, what do you mean? Then, Maria, no, that's so bad. I hope you're okay. I've sent it again. Anyway, then Mel's put 1-0 and I'm still confused.
Starting point is 00:32:52 So I've put it into chat of GPT. I'm Shane federal chore going, what's the matter with my phone? So you did it. It was nothing. Mel needs to get a lie because I know that. She's seen it on TikTok. She messaged me the TikTok side, this is perfect.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Ellie is in Italy, let's do it. But I'm surprised you didn't. I'm surprised I was waiting for her to screenshot and put it on Instagram because she likes to do that. That's very funny. Very, very good. Tomorrow looks like good weather because I'm going to London.
Starting point is 00:33:28 There's a lot of rain. Are you? With who? With my son? Lovely. Hi. We're going to the aquarium for his birthday. Lovely.
Starting point is 00:33:36 What are you doing? Going out. Oh, nice. Are you going to the aquarium? No. Not now. We're going to Hamle. I'll cancel the tickets.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Not anymore. We're going to Hamleys and the Aquarium. Just throw a little birthday day out. Lovely. You had a bit of a day of it, didn't you? We haven't really spoke. You broke a glass. You did this.
Starting point is 00:33:54 You did that. I'll tell you something, guys. The new moon has fucked me over. I'm exhausted. Really? Last week, I was all over the shop, smashed the wind mirror, smashed a glass. I said, I've got to go to bed, so I just didn't, so I make it through the day of life. Yeah, well, I spent the whole day in bed on Monday.
Starting point is 00:34:12 The whole day I was flawed. I felt ill. I feel exhausted. I felt terrible. Then I did my back in. Fortunately, my back is getting better, but it's not very good. I was moving a footstall, but it's not very good when I sit down. Why, you've got to travel to Bath now for four hours, sat down in the car, which I'm really quite worried about.
Starting point is 00:34:31 But never mind. We shall move. But yeah, it's the new moon. It's playing havoc, guys. Yeah. Not for me. I'm all right. Really?
Starting point is 00:34:40 Maybe because you've been on your lollibops. A bit of vitamin D. Yeah. We've got a message here from Becky. Listen. I know it's boring, guys. But people want to know. Hi, Nat.
Starting point is 00:34:52 I'm a mum of four. 16, 19, 20 and 21. Oh, my gosh. 1619. 20 and 21. I'm a mobile hairdresser who works in the day and evening. I dread meal planning and was wondering if you or anyone had tips or advice. This also comes under list topic.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Do you or the listeners go shopping with a list and a meal plan for the week? Or do you just shop and get the inspo for meals while shopping? Oh, Becky. It's a lot of kids. You have got to use your freezer. Honestly, it's the bet you have to make meals and freeze them. Yeah. You have to.
Starting point is 00:35:30 You've got to make a shepherd's pie, make four of them. Yeah, but else, the problem is, right? They don't fare, it's, I was Sunday. Oh, I'm going to have a really lovely, wholesome Sunday. I made a chicken pie from scratch. They did not. Yes, however, you're talking four and six. I'm hoping by that age.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Oh, no, at that age. Yeah, you could smash some pies out. Yeah, shepherd's pie. I have got a bit of a suggestion here, and it was someone I used to work with, actually. he was 19, 20 at the time. His family, they picked a night each. Yeah, you said that before. Yeah, so you have.
Starting point is 00:36:07 That's quite a good idea. So you can get the children thinking about what they want. So you could have, yeah, your four children plus you. But then what about when the other one goes, I don't like that? Oh, it's tough. That's the thing. I think that's the other thing. On a Sunday, not too many choices.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Too much choice. I cook my kids different meals sometimes. It's too much choice and I have got much better at it. Because if Johnny goes, I don't like that, if I listen to her, the first time, I'd be doing that, and I've become, I said, no, you're going to sit there and you're going to eat it. And do you know what she does? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:34 She ends up eating it. I will not. She ends up eating it, not all the time. But I have got a little bit more, right, there's four of us. We're all eating, and that's what we're doing. I do think, I'm at home, I ain't cooked a thing. Mark's been doing all the cooking. Lovely.
Starting point is 00:36:47 It's been quite nice. I just want them to eat varied stuff. I do think it's, I do think you have to prep. Yeah. And I, certainly, when I'm back home and stuff, I think I will be doing a, a proper Sunday shop. Yes. You will.
Starting point is 00:37:01 You know, yeah. Because now with the, it's like being at mum and dad's there's like yesterday I managed to make like a lentil dish with carrot, celery, some sweet potato because it was just all stuff that was just in the fridge. So I've, you know, and because there's more of us, there's more things. So I think I can create a meal better if I've just got stuff in the fridge.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Yeah. Lots of different fruit. Whereas I think if you're just going to the shop and buy you. for that one day I don't know I think it's hard It just depends though as well
Starting point is 00:37:33 Isn't it Like what your week's planned I do try and look at the week And get a bit better at it Like Monday If I get it on Sunday I may even cook it If it's like a bolognaise
Starting point is 00:37:43 Or I make meatballs or something It's different for me as well With my routine With the kids and stuff But on Monday and Wednesday As well they have clubs So it's literally Getting from our school club
Starting point is 00:37:53 Shub some food down the net Get out of me to the club It's a rush But even like today I'll pick them up and I thought, shit, I've got no dinner. And I have got stuff at home. So I'm like, what am I going to do tonight?
Starting point is 00:38:03 I know, but there is nothing worse than being at that time and thinking, I've got nothing for dinner. It's a nightmare. It stresses me out. And I think when you have children, like you now, for instance, a year ago, you would not be saying this. You'd be like, I'd done where I'm going to be. Yes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:18 I'd be wasting the food. I'd buy the weekly shop. I'd buy like two, I'd buy two or three days worth because that would allow. But even then you might come around to me or you might be somewhere else. But you know that your routine, you know that you're going to be at home with James, you know that you're going to want your dinner each night. And also it's not just me, it's him as well. So it's having, you know, and I'd like to be at home.
Starting point is 00:38:39 You know, and of course at the moment I'm at home and I've got that flexibility. But being able to maybe put, like you said, a bolognaz on in the morning and then getting a bit out for him. And then that's both of our dinner. And that's the other thing because it's, you know, again, people are out all day working, like they haven't got time. I would say Beck, I know it's an oldie, but a goodie. slow cooker or preparing but even just
Starting point is 00:39:00 preparing maybe the night before so even if it's like some and again when I use the slow cooker I would cut all my veg up the night before and put it in a bowl in the fridge
Starting point is 00:39:09 so it was done so in the morning I literally felt it in water no I can't remember maybe I've done water but no as long as it's covered it's like my kids like mash
Starting point is 00:39:18 so on Sunday I thought I just need something to go with mash I didn't want to do sausage and mash again but it's mad I bought potatoes and then I had some potatoes in there
Starting point is 00:39:28 because I'm not using them but freeze it make mash and put it in the freezer I mean go into Italy and again we'll hopefully be able to divulge but where the family are all working but they know where coming loads of stuff that Marina got out
Starting point is 00:39:43 prepared and prepared you know all like broccoli fresh cooked in a dish in the freezer out cooked done the peppers in the oil with the garlic frozen so that she's then just frying a bit of meat off or Because they're all working, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:00 And everything was, but do you not remember years ago? Zia used to do it. She'd have all the chicken and breadcrumbs that, like, or do make the homemade chips for ease that, like, it's, it's all about preparation. It's about having a day of cooking, isn't it? If you can. And even if you could prepare two meals of your seven-day week, that would help you. And also, I know that you're busy, like you said, and your hairdressing and all different hours working in the evening. You haven't got tiny kids.
Starting point is 00:40:28 kids so you should be able to find a day you've not gotten pulling at your strings asking you to play puzzles or Lego so when you get a free day and get them involved and get them cooking for you as well we were cooking at that age loved it yeah we did I used to cook dinners all the time
Starting point is 00:40:45 get them involved helping you or cooking you a dinner while you're at work you know even saying peel the potato so that they're half you know and getting boiling so you were halfway done A little job done, isn't it? Yeah. It is a hard one. But the biggest thing is if you've got that time or when you find that time is, I think, preparation.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Yeah, maybe do like an online shop. You've given me a lot of inspiration for this weekend. You're going to do it. On Sunday, I might do that fully. I might do a couple of dishes. I did it last night and I've made him four pots because I'm like, all my freezes stuff's running life. It's anything. When they're so fussy, it's so brilliant.
Starting point is 00:41:24 No, of course. But, well, there's some days. he'll eat things and then I think, oh, he loves that and then he don't eat it, you know, but it's just knowing I've got it there in the freezer. I just, for me, it's like getting the variation in. I want them to eat it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:37 And then when it's, we've got a short space of time and I need to press it. You're thinking, I just want them to eat something. You just want them to be full and enjoy what they're eating. It's nothing worse otherwise, yeah. No, I get it. And a lot of people have that. The fussy eating thing is hard work, really hard work, can be. But even like before I made my own chicken gujons.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Yes. Have you done the cornflake ones before? No, I haven't. I've seen those before. They're really good. Are they? Yeah, really, really good. But again, I think things like that, if you just spent a couple of hours of just making a load, like even I've done meatballs and then I've put them into portions of two, so I can just get two out and he can have them with even, you know, some vegetables or I can put them with pasta.
Starting point is 00:42:20 What do you do and defrost those for me? Yeah, defrost them and then, but the point is is you could make all the chicken and also it's cheaper. And you're buying nice of stuff. And also, you know what's in there. The amount of chicken breasts I buy and dujons. It's a nightmare. Why are we doing that? We are capable of doing it ourselves.
Starting point is 00:42:36 And also, in the long run, you're spending less money. No, I know. So true. So true. Right, moving on. We'll always talk about food. We'll do it. We'll sort it all out and maybe do some batch cooking.
Starting point is 00:42:47 I made my salmon, noodles and pack choy last night. My mom loves it. It's a really lovely wild for you. I know, but it's really delicious. Soy, honey, chili Wow. Lovely. I know.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Got to make a ramen soon. You know, I gave you the Vianetta, sorry, cake, ice cream, decoration for the what? Yeah, why can't you say that? Well, because it's not Vionetta, is it?
Starting point is 00:43:16 It is, though. Yeah, definitely it is. Sorry, how about the Selfridges edit? So good. Nah. There is a... Liberati
Starting point is 00:43:27 There is a Unicorn glass Christmas decoration I'm telling you people are listening to this pod She also told me there's a manjaro one I saw that
Starting point is 00:43:37 It's a jab It's a jab Oh stop it It's the tree Now that is a bit weird I should have been ordering that for a few people You know what I mean
Starting point is 00:43:45 That is weird Isn't it Yeah but there's loads of ones No there's weird I saw a Sudoku one Oh that's quite cute Oh that's like different But that is wild
Starting point is 00:43:56 The jab one is weird No I know but that is much Because it's a holiday thing I know But I hope someone buys me one Really? I'm not buying any more decorations It won't go on your tree
Starting point is 00:44:08 Because your tree is too small Oh no It's so apt Yes it is apt I agree I'll buy me it and I'll wear it At the show I'll wear that one around my finger
Starting point is 00:44:16 Your finger Around your neck Oh dear We had a message Didn't we from Our very loyal fan and listener, Jen. Oh, that girl.
Starting point is 00:44:29 She wants to see us. Have a listen to this. Nat and that's nieces. Starting point is 00:48:19 When she watches the TikToks with people dissecting. What is it? It's, to me, it seems American, sort of young rom-com. I don't know, but I could be very wrong. But I'm seeing a lot of who would you go for this boy or this boy. So I don't know. But everyone is obsessed. So I'm just going to throw it out there.
