Starting point is 00:01:15 streaming April 10th on Hulu on Disney Plus. Hello and welcome to everyone listening to Life with Nat today. Happy Easter Monday or happy whatever day it is when you're listening. Hopefully, you're stuffed with chocolate, you had a lovely day yesterday and you've had a really nice bank holiday. I am recording this. on Good Friday. And I sent out a message to say, what does Good Friday, Easter, Monday, Bank Holiday, what does it mean to you guys? What are you up to? So as usual, thank you for all of your lovely messages and we'll get through them. But I thought I'd start to tell you what it means to me, really. Easter's quite nostalgic for me. It reminds me of being off school, being at home
Starting point is 00:02:17 with mum and dad and real family time, watching loads of telly, eating lots of chocolate, and just being at home of mum and dad. And I suppose because I haven't got them anymore, it's quite a poignant time. And I wouldn't say I'm sad, but it is a time of reflection for me. And also hope, because it's spring, and again, that new year is coming. And yeah, it's lovely. although the wind outside, old Storm Dave, which did make me laugh because that's my brother's name, they usually pick, you know, quite nice names, don't they? Quite sometimes exotic names, but no, we've got Storm Dave Freester.
Starting point is 00:03:00 I hope wherever you are, you haven't been overly affected. Obviously, this is the beginnings of it, so it is Friday today. There's a little bit of wind outside. I just took all me cardboard out, nearly got blue. going away. Fed the rabbits. It's been a quiet good Friday. Mark is filming not going out today. So he went out at the crack of dawn and might be back till very, very late. Eliza, being Eliza and being 15, I completely understand she doesn't want to be at home. So she's off to her friends for the evening. So it's just been me and Joan, which has actually been really
Starting point is 00:03:36 lovely. It takes a lot for Joan to get out of the house. She's very much a home bird like me. But yet, with the Smith's visit, because I promised her a dolly for Easter, I know it should only be an egg, but I don't care, actually. Not bothered. I don't care, and I bought her a little dolly. So she was very happy with that. Bribery, I would say, because then it allowed me to go to numerous shops for the large Sunday roast that I will be cooking on Sunday. I have Roro, Elia, all the children, Auntie Linney, everyone's coming over, so it'll be a lovely day. A lot of work, but I enjoy the preparation. So Saturday, tomorrow, I will spend the whole day shredding, peeling, boiling, getting everything ready. So Sunday is a breeze, a little bit like Christmas, which is why I like it, I suppose. Thank you to everybody who's sent a pick of their Easter tree.
Starting point is 00:04:33 Oh, isn't Mark wrong? I mean, if the average is true to what Mark says it is, this means that everybody who owns an Easter tree listens to the podcast, which I highly doubt. I mean, maybe we're all like-minded people. Maybe you do. I don't know. But thank you for all of your pictures.
Starting point is 00:04:53 They're all beautiful. I also want to mention the fact that some people don't have an Easter break. And I like to do that because it's very important. So I'm shouting out to all the carers, to all the paramedics, to the police. Anyone, anyone who is working over this bank holiday, I salute you, and I hope you're getting through it and listening to different pods and having a bit of a laugh at work is getting you through. But thank you for all you do.
Starting point is 00:05:26 We wouldn't have anything without you. So thank you. Saying that, when I was in EastEnders, we used to work bank holidays all the time. time. Never had bank holidays off. I think now they've got a lot better. I think they've got Easter off, Good Friday, Bank Holiday Monday, which is needed because it is a big machine. So, yeah, I hope all you guys are having a nice break as well. Can be quite relentless. So I thought I'd start with the book club. Because it's Easter Monday, I'm going to amalgamate a few things in and have a little gentle-ep. The book club, last month we read, everyone in this room will someday be dead.
Starting point is 00:06:09 And I haven't had that many positive comments from it. I really, really enjoyed it. It took me a long time to get into, but I loved the character of Gilda, and it was all about Gilda's story and her obsession really with death, but not in a morbid way. It was very dark, very dark comedy. She was really funny. She ended up working in a church. She was a lesbian, had to pretend to be Catholic. Her parents were a bit odd. It was all life from her perspective, and I loved it. And it reminded me of Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, which I really liked. And it was fast-paced and the dialogue sort of jumps. I really enjoyed it. I really loved it. So I'm going to read a few book club reviews for that and then tell you,
Starting point is 00:06:59 you what next month's book is. It's a book that I have to read, and I hope you'll all come with me on that journey. I'll tell you more in a minute. Let's read some book reviews. So Gemma from West Kingsdown said, Hi Natalie, I'm messaging you about the book review. I thought I'd give it a go as I'm an avid reader, but I really struggled to get into this book. I eventually gave up, which I hate to do, but as a mum of three, time is very precious. Looking forward to hearing other people's views. Thanks for the podcast. Well, Gemma, I completely understand that time is of the essence, and if you're not enjoying something, you want to spend that free time doing something you really want to do. But we've had a lot of this, unfortunately. Georgina said, I haven't been gripped to this one,
Starting point is 00:07:44 so I'm still ploughing through it. Ellsbell sent me a message saying, I really enjoyed the book with a crying face. Unfortunately, Maria and Ells haven't read this month's book. The old Nat's Nice's book club is going great guns, as you can tell. Hopefully they can join me on the next one. We have a review here from Lovely Claire. Didn't get many reviews this month actually. Maybe people have been busy or they just didn't get into the book. So I really, really want you to get on board with the next one. Here's our review from Claire. Hi now. It's Claire from Swanley. I'm just giving you a book review. Really sorry I'm croaky. I'm absolutely full of cold at the moment. everyone in this room will someday be dead,
Starting point is 00:08:27 which is absolutely right if you think about it, if you go into that depth, that is the circle of life, isn't it? But the approach of this character is that she's analysing everything, but also going to the extremes. I did enjoy the book. I say I enjoyed it. I've still got about a quarter of it left to go.
Starting point is 00:08:46 I did find it very manic. I couldn't get into it. It took me a while to get into it because her thought process is quite manic. And you have to be in the right frame of mind to take that on. And I sometimes wasn't. I thought, oh, no, I can't get into that today. So it has taken me a bit longer.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Reminded me of Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine. Although Eleanor Oliphant made me cry. This book doesn't make me cry. They're very different threads. It appears that Gilder is more of a observer of life rather than integrated. Does that make sense? Obviously she takes part in life, she sees her friends, she's a family, but she seems quite a lonely, isolated character, very much observing what's going on and her mind is so like 10 to the dozen all the time. I wondered if there was a little bit of neurodivergence autism going on there as well because of the way things were phrased.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I did like the book. Very different, obviously. I don't want to be reading the same things all the time. But it's probably one you've got to be in the right frame of mind for. I didn't find it hilariously funny. I found it witty, and there was a couple of lines that I did laugh out loud to. She's obviously got quite a dry sense of humour, and I think this would play really well on screen. I don't know what you think about that.
Starting point is 00:10:10 But yeah, generally a good book. I'm definitely going to leave it in our staff room, on our bookshelf. We take books in and share them around, so that's definitely one that I'm going to leave on the shelf for others to pick up and read. So, yeah, thanks for that. looking forward to the next one. Take care, love. Claire and I do think the same things. It was dark humour, and there were some lines that I laughed out loud to,
Starting point is 00:10:34 but there was a trauma to the book, and the way Gilda lived, she didn't really do her washing, everything was broken. It was quite a sad story, but ended with some hope. But yeah, thank you so much. I can't remember who it was that recommended it, But again, I think it's so important to read different things. And I'm really pleased I did.
Starting point is 00:10:58 And the biggest thing for me is that I've read another book this month. And I love the fact that I'm reading a book a month. I never would do this without the pod. So I hope everybody reads the next one. And the next one I'm doing, I'm going to have to do it. Some of you may have read it already. But I'm going to do Kathy Burke, a mind of my own. Now, Cathy, I've never met her. I cannot believe that I've never met Kathy Burke.
Starting point is 00:11:30 She went to Anna Sher years before I did. She's about 20 years older than me. But my brother read this on holiday. I gave it to him and he read it in one sitting. He sat down and he read the whole thing in one sitting. And Dave said it was absolutely fantastic. So I'm really looking forward to it. So please download it or grab it from the library or buy yourself a copy. of Kathy Burke's autobiography because I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in. It might even start it tonight.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Me and Joni are going to go for a little bit of dinner tonight on our own. I'm quite looking forward to it. I'm going to walk over the local, grab a little bite to eat. I'll have a little glass of wine, a little grown-up meal.
Starting point is 00:12:14 It's really lovely to have Joni at this age where she's still around and with me. And I do, not that I would do it because it would ruin my life, genuinely it would, because I'm too tired, too busy and need to spend time on myself. But I do understand why people have babies once others have grown up, like my mum did with me.
Starting point is 00:12:41 I do get it because it can become quite an empty nest, as we know. But yeah, I'm very grateful that Joni's spent the day with me and that we're going to go for a little bit of dinner later. It will be lovely. Just picking up from last night's chats, actually. I was talking about Lisa Tarbuck and how much I miss her, which I do. And obviously, a lot's gone on with radio too.
Starting point is 00:13:05 I am not going to comment. I don't know anything about it, not enough about it. We're all reading things. Don't know the truth. But Scott Mills for me has always been a fantastic friend in terms of going to see him at the radio station or texting him about something. And I just really, all I care about is people's mental health,
Starting point is 00:13:29 people being okay. And I really truly hope that he is okay. We had this lovely message. Hi, Nat, Katie from Huddersfield here. My first voice note into the pod, so please bear with me. But I just wanted your opinion on something. there's one thing that really, really irritates me and annoys me is when mums call themselves full-time moms. So they'll probably get asked, you know, what do you do? And they'll say,
Starting point is 00:14:00 I'm a full-time mum. And it really irritates me because it's like opposed to what, a part-time mum? So because I go to work, does that mean that I'm part-time mom? No, absolutely not. It really, really annoys me. Surely the wording should be stay at home, mum. Let me know what you think. Looking forward to seeing you at Leeds at the weekend and bringing my mum with me. We're very excited to get down there and see what's installed. So yeah, thanks. Bye.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Well, thanks for that, Emma, and I hope you enjoyed Leeds. I think it's a really interesting one because I think what you'll find is mums that are stay-at-home moms can feel rather inadequate to working moms. So saying they're a full-time mum, it's just the job that. they're doing. And I think working mums, like you Emma and myself, of course we're full-time moms, but we're not there for every second of every day like a stay-at-home mummies. So I think it's such a, it is a really interesting one, but I don't think it is a bad thing if someone is at home and has chosen not to go back to work, but to be at home with their
Starting point is 00:15:16 child full-time, it is a huge job in itself to be at home all day long with your child. And I think that is overlooked sometimes. I think people can see stay-at-home moms, full-time mums, whatever you want to call them, as a bit of a, oh, they've got it all right, they're at home. Whereas I really think, if I'm honest with myself, I think I would have thrived being a stay-at-home mom, full-time mum. I think I would have loved it. I love being at home. I love the cooking, I love the cleaning. I'm very happy to do all of that. But when I think about the emotional side of being with your children 24 hours a day, when I go out of the house to go to work or I get
Starting point is 00:15:58 a train and I get a coffee and I'm sat there, I do breathe a sigh of relief if I'm being honest and I think, oh, this is a bit of me time. So everybody is different. There is no right. There is no wrong, but I know a lot of stay-at-home mums and it's hard work. It can be boring, it can be a bit relentless. Sometimes they may feel not fulfilled throughout their day, but also it is extremely fulfilling to know that you are with your child 24-7 and you're bringing them up. Yeah, really interesting, Emma. I'd love to know people's thoughts on that. I think we could do a whole episode on that, full-time mums, working mum, stay-at-home mums, the guilt you feel. How we're perceived, if you're working a lot. You know, it's amazing. People have to go to work. I've said it before. I'll say it
Starting point is 00:16:46 again. You get on a train. I get on a train very rarely, couple of times a month, three, four times a month. And you see those people, that traffic and you think, God, you're doing this every day, half seven every day at the station, going into London, coming back five days a week, how do you do that? You know, it's a lot. And for people who are at home, well, it's a lot also. So maybe we should do a little phone in on that on the next Nat's chat. Maybe I could talk to a couple of people. Let me know if you'd be up for it. 077-8-8-2019-19 on the WhatsApp.
Starting point is 00:17:22 You can Facebook me on the Life With Nat page. Or you can DM me on Natalie Cassidy's Life with Nat on Instagram. Lovely Jubly. Oh, for goodness sake. That last message wasn't from Emma. It was from Katie. I'm so sorry, Katie. Katie was the full-time mum.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Stay at home at mum. messenger. My apologies, sorry. I've got all this stuff in front of me and sometimes I don't know if I'm on my head or my asshole. Here's another little message that I was very happy to hear. Hi Nat. Just wanted to say that how you feel about Lisa Tarbuck is how probably all of your listeners feel about you. We all can't wait for that little dot on the podcast app, mine Spotify. to say there's a new pod from you or you and the girls. It is actually, what is it? It's like a really heartwarming feeling that you're there.
Starting point is 00:18:24 And I think the majority of us feel like you're our mate. So, yeah, just wanted you to know. I felt like your voice was going a little bit, like you were a bit upset about the Lisa Tarbuck show not being there anymore. But yeah, that's how we. we would all feel about you. Take care. Bye.
Starting point is 00:18:46 No pressure, eh? No bloody pressure. Thank you very much. It's very kind. I can't quite believe it. So I'm going to move swiftly on. I can't have all that appreciation. But yeah, I'm very pleased.
Starting point is 00:18:58 And it is days like today when I'm sat on my own. And it does take a lot to come up to this room on my own. I know that might be really strange. But when you're at home and you're doing stuff and I think, oh, I've got to go and do a pod now. I still feel a little bit silly coming up and sitting on my own and talking to myself. But I am getting around to the fact that I'm not talking to myself. I'm talking to my listeners.
Starting point is 00:19:22 And if I just plonked up on Instagram, oh, it's Easter Monday, I'm not doing a pod today. That could piss people off. So here I am waffling on. And I hope it's all right. Morning Nat, please keep talking waffle and ringing people up. Your listeners love it. I love today's pod and would really like more of them, but I love all your pods. I'm sure all your listeners do.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Honestly, they are so comforting, and it's like having a friend talking to you in our ears, if that makes sense. I'm having a pretty shitty week due to perimenopause and being laughed at the doctors yesterday and told I was too young has made me feel like poo. Well, that is very relevant to last week's pod, wasn't it? Anyway, she says the lovely pod has brought her lots of comfort, which is lovely. Your listeners will keep giving you the reassurance you need You're fucking fabulous
Starting point is 00:20:12 Meek, fabulous song Give it a listen if you haven't heard it yet What I will do Have a great day looking forward to Monday's pod H Thank you so much Yeah, it's not really I don't want to come across all like Oh, am I doing all right
Starting point is 00:20:27 Oh, I don't know if anyone listens Oh, I'm not really sure if I should be doing this pot It's not that I want reassurance it's just it just bamboozles my brain that people wait for it and listen to it I can't help it I don't get it but I am so pleased people do
Starting point is 00:20:46 it means the absolute world to me as you all know well Natalie hello it's Sonara I just thought I'd let you know just listen to today's pod it was really really good I love a random chit chat with people anyway and finding it about them
Starting point is 00:20:59 anyway so I have joined the Bristol WhatsApp group chat with Neo Yes, Neo is brilliant. But oh my God, I feel like we have bonded so much already. We are talking about showers. Do you face forward? Do you face back? We're discussing married at first sight. We're discussing it all. And you're so right. Whatever you have built. Like it's incredible. Like we've got this bond, like mutual bond with us all. And they're just really lovely people. And that is all thanks to you. So yeah, thank you very much. It's another WhatsApp chat that we've got to catch up with. But honestly, like, yeah, we're just like, just been giggling away, trying to work and, you know, we're sending random gifts to each other and links to Instagram, but the joys of peri menopause and everything. Anyway, I'm rambling. Have a lovely day and thanks again. All right. Bye. Thank you, Sonara. So lovely to hear from you. And yeah, I mean, as always, the Pod Squad are fantastic. And the Pod Squad are my fans and there are loads of them. It's getting bigger and
Starting point is 00:21:58 bigger and bigger. So loads of them down in Bristol, which was fantastic. And yeah, it's just a place for people to meet who are like-minded. And as I say, again, that even blows my mind. It's bloody brilliant. Hi, Natalie. Just a quick Easter update on the cost of Easter eggs. Yes, they are still phenomenally expensive if you want a luxury one. And it is still cheaper to get a leg of lamb.
Starting point is 00:22:21 So like last year, I'm getting four legs of lamb, because we don't want any of them running around with just three legs or two legs. So I'm going to get four legs of lamb, whack him in the freezer, happy Easter. And throughout the year, just going to think about the eggs. and those bastard bunnies are still expensive. You honestly, you need a mortgage for an Easter egg and especially one of those gold bunnies.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Anyway, happy Easter's you and the family. Have a wonderful weekend. Bye-bye. I love you, Timbo. Not heard from you for ages, and your voice makes me smile. Now, I could listen to you on a Monday and Thursday for a good half an hour, 45 minutes.
Starting point is 00:22:56 Yep, the lamb is better. Egg-wise, I've bought quite a lot of eggs again, as per bloody usual. because I've got Frankie, James, Amelia, Ruby, Alfie, Joni, Liza. So they've all got an egg. I wasn't going to get Mark an egg, but I know he'll eat everybody else's eggs. So he's got an egg. I'm not bothered about chocolate egg.
Starting point is 00:23:20 I bought myself some cheesy, extremely cheesy hot cross buns for Marx's. And I am going to toast one of those with lashings of cornish butter with sea salt, marmite as thick as you like, and I'm going to gobble it up. Because that's the kind of girl I am, you know? That is what I'm going to do, and I can't wait for it. Someone sent me a picture here of the old Catherine Tate sketch. Do you remember the husband and wife? The dirty bastard. Listen to scraping the barrel, never mind the sausage debate, you can't be putting butter on a sausage sandwich or a bacon sandwich for that matter. In the words of Catherine Tate, the dirty past.
Starting point is 00:24:14 Hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend, sending lots of love, Fern. Well, excuse me, Fern. No butter in a bacon sandwich. No butter in a sausage sandwich, I can slightly understand. But when the butter amalgam, with the hot, crispy bacon, and some tomato sauce and it all squidses together and it's dripping through my fingers.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Are you nuts? Honestly, Fern, you've gone down in my estomatoes. Hi, Nat, love your pod with Mark. Unfortunately, working both tomorrow and Monday as a carer. We don't get much leeway, but relaxing over the weekend. Hope you all have an amazing Easter.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Gail from was Stansford Abbott's, now much had them. Oh, Gail, you're only down the road. As I've said at the beginning of the pod Carers, we need them desperately and thank you so much for being there. I don't know what else to say. You're all angels. Hi there, I hope you really go.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Just out for a little walking sunshine listening to a scrape in the barrel. I felt like I had to pause it and voice note. Mark, just get off our cases with the Easter trees, all right? Some of us have gotten. Some of us haven't. Yeah. Okay. I actually wasn't the audience in Bristol, but I was kind of in the corner to your left, so you didn't see me put my hand up. So there was more than one of us. I appreciate it might have only been two of us. They're not that many. But some of us enjoy them. Some of us have got train sets in our back gardens. Probably not many of us, but some of us enjoy that. So just get off our case, all right? That's Haley from Bristol.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Love that, Haley. I'm going to send that on now to the Scraping the Barrel group. Hopefully won't play it again on the next Scraping the Barrel. I could do. Who cares? But you're right. Who has a garden railway?
Starting point is 00:26:20 How many people in the UK? I bet there's more people with Easter trees than there are garden railways. It's a cracking point, Haley, that I'm going to bring up over the weekend. Hi, Nat. your message, read Easter. Couldn't resist sharing that it's my 40th birthday on Easter Monday. Oh, Gemma, happy birthday, darling. I'm not actually Christian, so Easter isn't a big thing for me,
Starting point is 00:26:46 but of course the kids love their Easter eggs and who doesn't love a bank holiday. Easter Monday, we are having a big lunch with close friends, having spent a week currently with family in Tuscany. Oh, oh, she's already put, don't be too jealous as the weather's been freezing. Lovely to get away though, the old Tuscan hills and a nice glass of red. Anyway, have a good long weekend, love the pod, you and your gorgeous family, been an OG listener from day one, and I saw you at the show in Luton. Oh, Gemma, happy, happy 40th birthday. I shall let Ro Roe know.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Let us know how you're feeling about it. Let us know if you've had a good day. Tell her it's all right, will you? She's driving me up the bloody wall. Hey, Nat, it's Lisa from Derby. just voicing you about our Easter plans. We've got a camper van, so we're heading down to Cheltenham on Saturday to camp for a couple of nights. Hopefully the weather isn't too bad, but you never know.
Starting point is 00:27:41 Can't do anything about it anyway. We've got coats, so it's fine. The main reason for going there is there's a brewery in Cheltenham that we want to visit, so go there and a couple of beers, walk back, and then we won't care about the weather. Our kids are grown up now, so we don't tend to buy them chocolate for Easter, but they do get little gifts and I don't know when they're going to grow out of that but you know that's kids for you
Starting point is 00:28:02 hope you all have a lovely Easter enjoy whatever you're doing love the pod keep up the good work take care love you bye oh thank you Lisa that sounds like a marvellous weekend I'd love a camper van it's just that I'm not very good anymore
Starting point is 00:28:20 in big vehicles I used to have a Land Rover discovery which was quite I really liked it actually It was really high up and I really loved it. But they cost an absolute fortune once they start going wrong. And then it actually got stolen from outside my house. I walked out of my house one day, genuinely opened the door. And I was like, oh, there's the car?
Starting point is 00:28:41 Where have I parked the car? I'm sure it was on the drive. Yeah, and it got nicked. So that was the end of that. And then after that, I thought, oh, fuck it. I'm not going to get a big car anymore, just for every reason, really. Tax and environment, blah, blah, blah. But a camper van does, oh, it does.
Starting point is 00:28:57 excite me. Does tickle my fancy, I have to say. Maybe one day. Where are my gloves? Come on, heat. Winter is hard, but your groceries don't have to be. This winter, stay warm. Tap the banner to order your groceries online at voila.ca.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Enjoy in-store prices without leaving your home. You'll find the same regular prices online as in-store. Many promotions are available both in-store and online, though some may vary. There's a couple of things I want to do actually before the rest of my voice notes. I have a few things that people have given me at live shows that I want to, what I want to tell you about, because firstly I want to thank people, because I haven't done so yet, and promote them because why not? Why would you not do that?
Starting point is 00:30:00 This is from Steph. And it says, thanks for bringing such joy to so many. many people's lives. You rock all of you, which is so lovely. Now Steph has given me some books and they are Mindful B books. And she said, Dear Natalie, as a long-time listener of Life with Nat Pod and an OG from the very beginning, I admire your honesty, warmth and the way you speak so openly about family life, emotional well-being and the realities of raising children. Your ability to bring humor, heart and realness to every conversation resonates so deeply with the purpose behind mindful B. As a mum, you understand how important it is to give children the tools to understand
Starting point is 00:30:45 their feelings and feel safe in their own little worlds. So, this is quite incredible. She's hand-delivered these to me in Folkestone. And this is a project that's become deeply meaningful to both of the people involved. So Steph and Belinda have created these books. Mindful B is the result of a decade of professional experience in the mindfulness and therapeutic space. My work with both adults and children has centred on emotional literacy, grounding and compassionate self-understanding, and these stories emerged as a natural extension of that practice. Belinda brings her expertise as a producer and mum, helping shape the creative direction and ensuring the work is accessible, engaging and developmentally attuned. So these are amazing. I'm going to show you them.
Starting point is 00:31:46 We'll pop up a little video. They haven't put an Instagram handle on, but I'm sure we can find them. Now, I have got an email. So if you want to get some or find out where you can find them. Mindful B, okay? And it's hello at mindful.com.uk. So that's that. So this is from Stefan Belinda, Mindful B. And these are absolutely beautiful. I've got three books here. Hang on. I'm going to do this. I've got at the beach. I have in the garden and I have on the farm. and they are books to read your children but they are activity books so when you are out and about in any of these places you are mindful you are there you are seeing things for instance on the farm you have a lovely story of the mindful bee chatting to everybody the ducks the rabbits
Starting point is 00:32:48 and then it will say let's have a gentle pause standing still for a few moments let's explore our body. How do your arms feel? Do they feel warm, fuzzy or vibrating? And then it talks about how the animals feel and how do you feel in your body now? Let's stand tall, allowing your body to settle. And it's about that meditating, calming, just being at peace with yourself, that mindfulness. And I think these are beautiful for today's world. Everybody is 100 miles an hour. We're all rushing around. We're all on screens, children, mothers, whoever, parents, carers, grandparents, whoever you want to say. And these just make you stop. And I think they are absolutely marvellous. So, Steph and Belinda, thank you so, so much. I haven't got back to you yet. I'm doing it now.
Starting point is 00:33:41 And I've let everybody know to try and find them. I will find you somewhere. I will drop, you've got a number on here. I can drop you a text actually and find out all your handles and I will pop them on the end of this pod. But what a brilliant, brilliant bit of work you're doing. Thank you so, so much. And you gave me a copy to give to James as well, Elyas Baby James, which I will do, I promise. The next one is so lovely that I couldn't quite believe it. Dear Nat, this is just a small gift from my home to yours
Starting point is 00:34:13 to say a big thank you for being you. Fab, funny, gorge, a little reminder for you and Mark of your dating Wistible. Love and luck to you, Auntie Dodo. and it's Donna from Wittstable. Donna, I can't get over it. Donna has got us a beautiful Wittstable sign. And it isn't just where we had a date, Donna. It's where we got engaged.
Starting point is 00:34:38 We love it very much. So that's beautiful. Beautiful Beermatt, Wittsable Beermatt. And some magnetic bookmarks for the book club. I am blown away. And thank you so, so. much and I haven't shown Mark yet and I am going to pop that Wittstable sign up in the kitchen so I will pop it on Instagram when it's up on the wall but thank you so so much now the next
Starting point is 00:35:05 one again got no bloody details here how people can find you could you drop me a message please Gina housecoat gee drop me a message babe there's not on insta a tick tock a bloody email nothing. I've not, I've not got anything. Lovely housecoat, Gina, you'll remember, if you are an OG listener, Gina bought me a house coat because I was banging on about housecoats. I've got a life with that one that she made me. She's absolutely fab. And she gave me a card with this gift in it.
Starting point is 00:35:37 And it's from her best friend's daughter. And her best friend's daughter has developed, mixed and packaged the enclosed lavare. Now, lavare, you know, I love an accent. A lavare means to wash in Italian. The idea is the spray can be used for those times you come into contact with stinky environments. Happens quite a lot to be honest. And your clothes need a freshen on the go, right? So this is a spray.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Nah, it's fantastic. Have a look at this. It is very, very swish, may I add. And this is a fabric freshen up spray. It is absolutely gorgeous. I mean it. It's fantastic. And it's been designed... Sorry about the noise.
Starting point is 00:36:34 Crafted light perfume, designed for fabric. I think this could be sold. Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Marx's even. I think it's brilliant. But I need to know where people can buy it. Lavare. I've gone on to Instagram. Can't find an account.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Gina, come on, love. Send me a message, please, and get your best friend's daughter to message me. Maybe she can come on the next snatch chats. We can have a chat about how she did it. I just think anyone who comes up with an idea in your head. Everyone can come up with ideas.
Starting point is 00:37:08 We can all come up with loads of ideas. Sit down. Oh, you could do this. You could do that. But to get it to a stage where it's in a box, it's made, that takes time and it takes a lot of resilience and that's staying power, that getting off your ass and doing something.
Starting point is 00:37:23 So that is incredible. And thank you for sharing it with me. I say, how lucky I am people. But if I can help, if someone can buy a few of those things, because of this pod, I'm happy. It's what it's about looking after each other, promoting each other, loving each other. I don't want gossip.
Starting point is 00:37:48 I don't want bad mouth in. There is no need for any of it. We are all lovely people, all deserve to do well. And if we can help each other every now and again, why not do it? Hi, nice, just seen your message. Bank holidays for me. Means skipped. Or as a teacher, we'll get a few bank holidays, but we don't get them all.
Starting point is 00:38:10 Or because some of them are in holidays. But then I feel like Good Friday, Easter Sunday, spend it with the family. But then I just want to tidy and have a sort out and chuck out stuff out in the garage. get rid of all clothes, have a good full refresh and it's skipped here basically take loads to the skip or load of charity shop run but yeah really interested to hear
Starting point is 00:38:38 what you guys do for bank holiday well you're right really but I don't go to the skip not for me I'm afraid the old stick of the dump or whatever he said the other day does it no Mark Mark goes to the skip bless him
Starting point is 00:38:53 bless him I know what you're all going to say Get off your ass, do it yourself. Why has Mark got all the bad jobs? I know, but, you know, that's the way it is. I don't want to go to the skip. I don't want to go and I'm not going to go unless I really have to. So, yeah, but I know what you mean about little spring clean, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:39:11 Getting it all sorted. I'm very chilled. I'm not worrying. I'm not even cleaning this weekend. Everyone's over. People stay in here. There's no point. I'm just going to really enjoy the weekend.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Worry about it next week. Hi, no. Just a quick voice note. say that I love your pod so much. I have message before that I listened right from the beginning every single episode I never miss. This Sunday is Easter Sunday but also my birthday. So I've spending it with my family and doing Easterer once and just a nice gathering all together. It's also my first birthday without my dad. So it's going to be quite tricky but trying to make the most of it and it'd be nice to have everybody that we love around us.
Starting point is 00:39:57 So, but anyway, have a nice Easter. Thank you. Bye. Oh, sweetheart. I hope you had a lovely, lovely birthday yesterday, and it's always a bit of sweet one. First one without a parent is hard, but I do hope you've relaxed and had a lovely time with the family. They sound full of beans.
Starting point is 00:40:12 They're on the chocolates already. Bless their little hearts. Hello. I just wanted to send a voice note. I got dragged along, although I was a very willing participant to the Bristol show last weekend. I've never listened to the podcast. I am a podcast fan.
Starting point is 00:40:31 And I love you, Nutter. I think everything I've seen of you online is fantastic. And I love the way you present yourself. But yeah, I just never got around to listening to the pods. I was one of those people in the audience. But I really enjoyed it. And I'm now going to start through the backlog. But I just hope you will have a wicked Easter weekend.
Starting point is 00:40:49 I've got three kids. and I'm taking two of them to Alton Towers, the two youngest. The eldest, she's off doing teenage things. Turns out my eldest is the same as your eldest, Natalie, as well. So we've got lots in common there, and she's about to go on a ski trip. So say no more. Lovely to hear from you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Start listening. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the show. And yeah, this age is a hard one. Listen, long as they're all right, long as they're happy, confident, doing a bit of work, that's all we can hope for. That's all we can hope for. They're respectful, they're kind, they want to do well at school. You know, it is what it is. Hi, Nat, Holly from Kent here.
Starting point is 00:41:29 Just see your Instagram post regarding the Easter weekend. So tomorrow is Good Friday. Obviously, it would have been and gone by Monday's episode. But I'm hosting a charity night at a local working man's club by me on the Isle of Shepi in Kent. for my daughter Ruby. She's just turned 19 and she's running her first ever London marathon. She's running for the charity Bail Research UK. We sadly lost my dad to bowel cancer in 2020. It was a real tough time anyway due to COVID, etc. And it all hit us like a ton of bricks. It was very sudden. Six weeks start to finish. We lost my lovely dad. But anyway, she's going to be running for this charity.
Starting point is 00:42:18 and I have put so much in place for it. I'm knackered. I'm not going to lie, I'm absolutely shattered. So hopefully it will all go well. We'll raise lots of money and we'll all have very sore heads on Saturday. And yes, I'm looking forward to it. I hope you all have a lovely Easter
Starting point is 00:42:36 and I've gone over a minute. Whoopsie. Bye. It doesn't matter if it's over a minute, if it's that important. Absolutely brilliant. I hope you had a fantastic night. Will you message me please and let me know how it went,
Starting point is 00:42:47 how much money raised. My mum had bowel cancer. She didn't pass away from it, but it was a turbulent time and it's a horrible disease. So money couldn't be better spent. And I wish Holly all the luck in the world for the marathon. Amazing. Thanks for messaging in and thank you for listening. Long time listener, not quite brave enough to do a voice note, but really boringly, the chance to stay in PJs a bit longer and eat to smart his egg. Simple as best. Does anyone else break their egg into bit? and pop it in the freezer so it's extra crunchy. Delicious. Hope you get lots of relaxing time.
Starting point is 00:43:24 From Sarah. Sarah, you're not going to like it. Don't really like the chocolate in the fridge. Not a major fan. Fruit and nut? Yes, please. Mind you, that's the only chocolate I like, so maybe I do like it in the fridge.
Starting point is 00:43:42 I wouldn't pop it in the freezer, though, for an extra crunch. No, thank you. I've got ice cubes for that But whatever floats your boat Whatever takes your fancy Go for it girl Hi Nat
Starting point is 00:43:54 This will be my first time I'm away for Easter My kids are in their 20s and 17 So myself and the hubby are off to Las Vegas For a week Not the traditional Easter I normally have But one thing I'll have no cooking to do Happy days
Starting point is 00:44:11 We'll be listening to you from Las Vegas instead Listening to the Pod Since the beginning And I always look forward to Mondays and Thursdays, as I know I'll be listening and having a laugh with you. Love Donna from Norwich. I tell you what, Donna. I have a fantastic week, eh? Spin their machine. What is it they do? I don't know. You have to ask Ro Ro, when she did the money and all that with the strippers.
Starting point is 00:44:35 You're going to a strip club? I'd like to go. I would like to go. Meant to be an amazing place. Well, this is flown by everybody. I can't believe it. I'm on 50 minutes and I've got to go for dinner with Joni. She's ready to go. She's all done up. She's got a lipstick on,
Starting point is 00:44:49 check shirt, little all in one, ready to go. One message I am going to read, which I love. Do you remember the lovely, lovely lady who, her and her daughter
Starting point is 00:45:03 were nearly made homeless and they were decorating at the weekend and they moved in on the 27th of March, all their friends helped them and I mentioned her. She sent me this.
Starting point is 00:45:14 Hi, Natalie. Happy Easter to you all. all settled in my new place now, still pinching myself that it's true. Me and my daughter are off to do a bit of girly shopping and then watch the magic of the faraway tree. If it's warm, we normally go to the beach as it's not far, but we love the bank holiday atmosphere. I am so happy that you're sorted, you're in, don't pinch yourself. Don't do that. Good things happen to good people. All right, and that's what I want to end this with. good things happen to good people. Yes, there are blips, sad times, but if you give out goodness,
Starting point is 00:45:52 you give out kindness and positivity, there is no reason to not get it back. I really, really hope you have a fabulous bank holiday Monday. I hope you've had a great Easter and I will speak to you again on Thursday. I hope you enjoyed this gentle bank holiday ep. Love you loads. Take care. speaks you Thursday. Cheers.
