Oh, here she is. She's got the eyes on.
Well, I had it on and then i was a bit rubbish and then i've now just tried to even it out and ended up with so much on tell you what done up to the nines this
morning i had a shower and it's still wet and horrible because uh i don't want to wake up
oh sorry everybody welcome to life with nat this is part of the episode we're just having a
yeah it is we're just having a nag yeah it is we're
just having a little nag i um was having a chat with emma about some technical issues then the
doorbell went and i've come back up and she's got a full face of makeup on i did a bit and then i
was trying to even out the eyeliner and it's just got really heavy now it's like massive but then
it's all bleeding onto the eyelids where i keep blinking oh it's not good oh it's fine it'll do
i'll have to do no one's seeing
this it's like claudia finkelman yeah she purposefully wants it to look like it's it
was done the day before yeah and it often is and it's i mean epic but i wasn't intending for that
well you're there uh exciting news as well you've got your keys i'm getting them today but they exist and they're mine Congratulations
There is nothing more exciting
than being a homeowner
so welcome to the world of
stress
Yeah there's a lot to do
because I've got to be moved out in the next two days
so yeah there's
so much to do
There's so much to do
You've got pods to edit as well, so, you know.
I know.
I've got full.
I'm doing a live show recording tonight again, and I just melt it.
My brain is, I can't do it.
You'll be fine.
It'll have to be done.
You'll be fine.
Just day by day, hour by hour, and you'll get there.
I always think that about being overwhelmed by things,
because at the moment I've got quite a few projects on the go,
and if I think of all of them at once I do feel like my brain is going to explode yeah and I said up this morning let's not worry about Saturday we're only on Tuesday let's just do this day by
day hour by hour if I'm honest I mean I've just had the girls turn up wonderful company called
at door display company and they have been decorating my front door for a couple of years
now they're really lovely people sisters and it's those kind of really lovely you might have seen it
guys on my insta but I do love my door being dressed.
And it is a bit extra and a bit over the top, but it just brings me joy.
Every time I drive in, it's just lovely.
Be it summer, I have it florally.
And now they're doing the autumn one, which it will be oranges and, you know, just all the crunchy burnt leaves.
And it's just lovely.
It just gets you into the seasonal mood.
Because I had a message a little while ago from a lady who said, why don't we do a whole episode on seasonal decor? And she was a little bit negative about it saying, why do we have to
have pumpkins that are knitted? Do we have to have different colored cushions for every season?
And actually we will do that.
I will do a seasonal decor rep, probably with my nieces, because they're into it as well.
But I think, do what you want to do.
You haven't got to go mad if you don't want to go mad, or if you can't afford to go mad.
And I think the biggest thing is the pressure, because people see a lot online.
They think, oh, I haven't got that.
I should be doing that. And actually, you haven't got to be doing anything. Just do whatever you want. If
you don't care about that, then that's fine. But don't feel pressured when you're looking at images
of other people all the time and what they're getting up to. It's the same old thing that I
always say, all right, don't worry about other people. What other people think of you is none
of your business, which is my favorite saying. But thank you for that and we will do a seasonal decor episode
is it worth it is it a waste of money where do you store it and what do you like to do so thank
you for that idea i'll be diving into all of that do yeah well i'd be seasonally decorating
probably not i can barely keep up with normal decorating let alone but i get to do that i get to paint things now well this is it
i mean i don't paint rooms different colors no just the ones just every now and then there might
be people out there that do let us know 07788 20 1919 the episode on mond Monday went down really well. I've had some really lovely flower pictures,
people who have grown their cut flowers in their vases in the kitchens. I'm very jealous.
But yeah, it's been really lovely to hear people's love of the gardening. So I'm definitely going to
do a live sew along at some point. And you to the lady that said please before you do the
live sew along can you tell us what seats you're in so we can do it with you yeah so and then we
can keep an eye on what's growing you know what we've got in and i think that is a fabulous idea
so thank you so much for that definitely when Cara and I go shopping I will record that
and tell you what seeds I've got and what we're going to do and when we're going to do it so
might do it before Christmas because Cara said obviously there's things you can plant
every month but I am so busy I'm not sure if we're going to get there yeah it's a busy old time
yeah yeah I feel like that's a very springtime activity is getting.
I think so.
Should we not overpromise?
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah, you're all over the place, aren't you?
You're sort of filming and.
Yeah, doing this documentary.
So I'm a bit all over the shop, all over the UK.
But it's good fun.
How many ice baths have you been in this week?
I haven't been in the ice baths yet.
Not at all.
No, no, it's coming up.
I'm not looking forward to it.
No, save that for the deepest of winter.
Is that what they're doing?
Yeah, they just want it to get as cold and dark as possible
before I enter that experience, which is lovely, really.
But I have to say something else about today, Emma.
Oh, yeah.
Eliza's 14 today.
Oh, happy birthday to Eliza.
Bless her little heart.
She got up. I set out all of her cards and
prezzies and people have sent things in the post and i lay it all out it's just what i've always
done and uh she didn't have time didn't have time to open a card because her phone was blowing up
she had a lot of messages to answer and get back to so she's now at an age where she doesn't
even want to open her card first thing in the morning but she's really really excited about
getting home from school and we're gonna have pizzas and linnie's coming over maria and els
are coming over and we're just gonna have pizzas and salads and a little birthday drink for her
so that'll be nice later.
Lovely.
I just can't believe she's 14.
I can't believe that I've got a 15-year-old.
It's very strange.
Yeah.
It's an age which is quite a difficult age to navigate.
You know, we do argue.
Nothing's perfect.
But we do have pockets of joy.
I took her out on Saturday.
We went shopping because I've been so busy yeah I thought well I've got to go out with her you know so we went up to
Oxford Street had a wander around Carnaby Street brought us some clothes she's a lucky girl but we
had a nice nice little adventure which was quite good that's peak shopping that is like the full
level as well Oxford Street and
Carnaby lovely well I'll tell you something it was so busy I don't know what was going on
it's always no I know it's always busy but I reminded myself of why I don't go shopping on
Saturday afternoons it's the most stupid time we were like sardines in the street something quite
weird happened which I wanted to talk to you about.
We were about to go home.
Tottenham were playing, right, on Saturday.
So I was trying to time my trains, because we have to go to Tottenham Howe,
whilst the match was still on.
Kick-off was at three, so if we get on the train at quarter to five,
we'll miss the rush.
So I go down to Oxford Street Tube, Oxford Circus,
and we get down there and
there's quite a large alarm bell buzzing something I've not heard before so I thought okay I was a
little bit on edge but I thought it's okay get down to the tube go through waiting for the tube
over the tannoy comes can everybody evacuate the tube immediately can everybody evacuate and that
was loud with an alarm bless eliza got really she nearly started crying and i said calm don't worry
it's fine and just for a minute you can't help but think, what is happening?
What is this?
Yeah.
And your brain just starts going 100 miles an hour.
But I was very proud of myself.
I stayed calm, held her hand.
We had lots of bags.
And I said, we're just going to start walking to the exit, not to worry.
But do you know what bamboozled my nut?
People standing, filming it.
Oh, yeah, well. people standing filming it oh yeah well why are you not listening to the instruction that you are being asked to actually evacuate the tube station
why are you standing filming the announcement it's the 24-hour news cycle i think though because
those clips will get onto the tv if something is happening
that's they'll suddenly like they'll be in demand and they'll be everywhere people want to see that
foot is so mad i know but in terms of a human nature i just find it that your safety doesn't
come for being a news reporter when you're not one yeah there were people a tube came along at this moment and people were getting
onto the tube rather than listening to the instruction and i'm thinking there could be a fire
yeah that's why they want us to go and it was actually no problem it was okay but they shut it
and it was they thought there may be a fire and that's why they were shutting it down to check
people were jumping on tubes rather than you know calmly going up the stairs going to the escalator
and getting out so that was a little bit of stress really because I've never ever had that before
I've never been in that situation but it is weird how your motherly instinct and your safety instinct kicks in and suddenly I was calm
doing the right thing grabbed Eliza's hand you know it's just a very within a flash life can
change so quickly and obviously that was absolutely nothing and it was fine yeah but it just made me
go oh god yeah life's very precious isn't it yeah because you don't know because again within 24
hour news cycle we see only the ones that go wrong
and you've got to be prepared.
It's stressful.
It's so mad.
It is stressful.
And I think also you just go about your business thinking,
well, that's never going to happen to me.
Yeah.
The awful things that we do watch,
you think, oh, that won't happen to me.
But actually anything can happen to anyone at any minute.
So you've just got to be a little bit aware and also just have fun and enjoy yourself yeah do the right thing if it's telling you to get out the station then just get out the station
yeah yeah
emma on a brighter note i've had the most beautiful message from a lady called tash
hi nat loving the pod just a quick one to say i'm having a baby tomorrow and you have helped pick
our baby's name i wasn't even on our list until a few weeks ago i heard you talking about your
daughter and now i love the name.
Husband agreed, so we are going for it
and you're the first person I've told.
I will send a birthday once she's here
and I got the most beautiful picture
that I'm not going to post because it's not my baby,
but I'll show you here.
Beautiful little girl.
Almost the same birthday as well.
So close.
So, so close.
So thanks, Tash, for that.
And I'm pleased you love the name.
It is a beautiful name.
Bingo Nataholics.
Liza for the middle name.
No.
Weird.
Or Chatterleys.
Weird, isn't it?
Weird.
All right, yeah.
But what I want to say, Tash, to you,
is that any Eliza that I meet, they are a bit feisty.
You don't get a boring Eliza.
So good luck.
They have personality fire, but it is a challenge when you get to 14.
So good luck with that.
Enjoy these years.
Influencer.
Eliza's getting
people named after her.
Isn't it lovely? I've heard it before.
Sort of,
I think we were at Legoland once or
Thorpe Park or somewhere
and it was around the time she
was born and I had
quite a few ladies come up to
me and say, oh, I'm going to choose Eliza.
I'm going to choose Eliza.
But I suppose, yes, verya but I suppose yes very nice
I mean I didn't
invent the name
it's a very very
old name
you know
this is a message
from Kate
hi Nat
just thought I'd
say hello
I have just
listened to
your latest
episode with
Tom Allen
and your lovely
friend Cara
I think
and I must
really loved it
I've just been
getting into
gardening myself
as well.
And a little bit, I'm hoping for a few more next year.
We actually have asco, so that's obviously not,
but we've got lots of plants as well.
So anyhow, what was actually missing for was your Cockney Rhyme and slang.
So my nan and granddad had fruit on their, on the carpet.
No, sorry, sorry. But so the carpet had fruit on their stairs, on the carpet. No, sorry, sorry.
So the carpet had fruit on it.
My granddad always said, come on, Kate, let's go up to the apples and pears.
And I thought that he'd made that up because there was apples and pears
and other fruit on their stairs, on the carpet.
So when I found out it was an actual thing I was absolutely mind blown
anyway hope you have a good week keep doing what you're doing love the podcast recommending it for
everyone see you soon oh Kate thank you do you remember that kind of designer carpet in the you
know back in the 70s and 80s where you had sort of objects on it, pictures of stuff.
Never had it, but I remember, yeah, I remember seeing.
How brilliant that she thought her granddad was talking about the beauty carpet rather than the apples and pears.
Yeah.
Brilliant.
I've had a couple of messages about Courtney rhyming slam.
Someone said, you know, two bob bits was mentioned by our lovely friend tom and two
bob bits usually uh is for tits however someone said that their father uses it for the shits
ah so he gets the two bob bits it's not tits it's shits and i like the way it can change
you know it evolves which i enjoy look at the shits on her. Yeah, you're always getting very confused.
You don't know what we're going to do.
Everyone's talking the wrong language.
You're saying new terms for different things.
Very confusing.
You saw my little...
I sent you a picture of my...
Talking of...
Not too Bob Bitt.
Go on, say it again. You sent me a picture of your tit.
No, my little potatoes, didn't I? I sent me a picture of your tit no my little potatoes didn't i i sent you
sorry going back to the gardening go to the garden i mean yeah not the two puppets your spuds look
amazing have you boiled them yet and put some butter on them no i need i need to i will there's
one that's so tiny it's like i thought it was a pebble so i had to give it a poke but it these
are because i think we discussed this before,
of like when they start sprouting, I was, yeah,
I was just chopping them off and putting them in a planter outside.
And then I thought, oh, I should check on that.
And yeah, I've got like 20 tiny, tiny.
But they will be absolutely delicious.
They look a bit like a shallot potato.
Little baby ones.
Little babies.
Boil those up, butter and salt.
Unbelievable.
Or you could roast them.
You could parboil them and roast them.
To me, they look more of a new potato.
So boil them up.
Beautiful.
Oh.
Yeah.
That'd be lovely.
Yeah.
Well done you.
I'm going to do potatoes next year,
that's for sure.
A few people have messaged me on Instagram
and said they've bought some really strong,
hardy sacks of just chucked potatoes in there.
Yeah. Really easy. So I am going to do that for sure um I had a message talking of potatoes uh from a lovely lady called Tracy hey now I'm a bit behind on the pot but I've just listened to the
episode with Poppy O'Toole and I'm very excited to try her roasty recipe just ordered her slow
cooker book I bought a book the other day in Sainsbury's
as I was wandering around and the last two lots of roast potatoes I've made have been poppy's way
and they are absolutely fantastic they do really well and I think it's to do with the
hideous amount of salt and then the old drainer with a tea towel over it yeah because those things i
haven't done before so i feel like those two elements salt in the parboil rather than like
adding it later like loads of salt when you're boiling it yeah it's like seawater so i actually
did taste it and go yeah that's enough salt yeah she said then it just
stops the osmosis like the nutrients going out yeah rather than sort of taking it all in but
yeah amazing oh should I do that with my tiny tiny so you've got to do those teeny the teeny
tiny potatoes no because you've got to have a marist piper so it's not gonna work now I'll
just pull these up I'll be fine I've got a message here from Tamsin.
Now Tamsin's photo on WhatsApp.
She's, how can I describe her?
She looks a little bit like Amanda Holden.
Very pretty lady.
Probably in her, well, she could be in her 40s she looks 30 to me
but she's wearing Minnie Mouse's
so the only thing I'm going to say is when adults don Disney things it does freak me out a little
bit but let's see what she has to say hi Nat it's Tamsin from Stafford I just
wanted to drop you a quick message to say how much I love the scraping the barrel episodes with your
lovely Mark when they um pop up on my notifications to say oh it's a new uh life with Nat episode
scraping the barrel I think yes this is exactly my thing And I just got a bit worried when Mark was saying,
he doesn't know if anybody likes listening to them. Well, I bloody do. And when I'm working
from home or on one of my commutes to work, I really, really enjoy listening to them. I never
know what's going to come up top, like topic wise. They're just lovely and organic to listen to.
So please, please, please keep them coming keep
recording your conversations together they are fantastic bye oh thank you tam thank you so much
yeah i just think mark sometimes gets a bit of imposter syndrome because he's just like oh who
would want to listen to me i do the same i can't believe that we're doing this and people listen
to it and they really enjoy it
i think i don't know why anyone wants to listen to me but that's just normal and it shows that
we're not assholes quite frankly but scraping the barrels will happen they will continue don't worry
as long as i feed him nicely before them and then we come up here with a nice gin and tonic i can
coax him to do them yeah but thank you for listening i've had a lady called shell hope you'll love the pod your family i know this number is for
life with nat but i wanted to share that i've listed my tickets on ticketmaster for resale
in case you haven't managed to get any it's through the site michelle that is so kind of you
but i think if you've put them onto Ticketmaster,
they'll be gone by now. But thank you for thinking of me. As I said, I'm not even thinking about it.
I just know I'll be there somehow. But thank you for thinking of me. Because I've been so busy,
tonight also, I've got the girls coming around and what have you. Mark's also home at a reasonable
time. And I feel really guilty that I'm not cooking a meal this and what have you. Mark's also home at a reasonable time.
And I feel really guilty that I'm not cooking a meal this evening because it's Eliza's birthday.
I've not ordered her a cake.
I'm just going to go and pick one up in a little while.
But I'm just shoving in a load of pizzas and doing a big green salad.
Yeah.
I just haven't got the energy.
That means you'll get to spend more time with her and everyone
rather than in the kitchen.
I think it's better.
Yeah, yeah, it's true.
I don't know.
It just doesn't sit right with me.
I'm not cooking, but it's fine.
Just time's busy at the moment, so it'll be all right.
I was wondering about people during the week
and how much they cook and how many takeaways they have
because I think that's a really good subject.
Because I think life is so busy for everybody now.
Do people just take the easy option of ordering something in?
Because also it's so bloody expensive.
Mark and I have got a time that we really like up the road.
And we don't over order.
We really don't.
I like picky bits.
So I'll get just the kind of startry bits
and then mark will get a curry and a rice and i'll have a bit of that and he'll have a bit of mine so
we don't even get two curries and sometimes it comes to 60 quid so i think it's a really good
subject to ask people you know do you bother to batch cook and really think about what you're eating for the
week, which is what we all want to do. But sometimes we don't do that. And then it's just
a case of grab anything or order something. And I just, I'd like to hear about that. What do you do?
Do you try and cook or do you grab stuff that's easy? I barely put the effort into cooking at the moment.
Like, well, particularly at the moment, right,
these last few weeks with the move coming up,
I've been trying to get through all the freezer.
But I feel like because I live alone, I'm only cooking for myself.
I find it's so, I just don't build that time into my day.
It's not a thing for me where I can be bothered really.
So I do a lot of easy, yeah me where I can be bothered really so I do a
lot of easy yeah whatever's whatever I can easy stuff yeah I'm the same I love doing I haven't
done it for ages but a massive bolognese sauce I do that yeah whatever but I haven't done that
for ages either yeah no it's it's hard but I I genuinely my mark if he's out of an evening or away i will have a big bag of crisps i've said
it before great big bag of crisps and a glass of wine or you know a couple of biscuits crackers
bit of cheese whatever's in there a few grapes bit of cheese pepper army i'm absolutely terrible
whereas mark's really good i've been away recently which is a bit unusual but he will
cook himself a meal he'll have a stir fry
he keeps you know he's very very good very good I need to do that it's the have you heard the term
girl dinner I think I mentioned this before it's like I think so it's on this idea that the old
stereotype of the women in the kitchen having to cook a proper meal but when you're just doing it
for yourself you end up with just the picky bits the fun like the other night I had a crisp sandwich for dinner and that's that
tends to be I'll get a nice sourdough loaf from the bakery near me that's not going to be near
me anymore I'm sure you'll find another one I'm sure I will but it won't be directly below my
flat which is at the moment been so lovely but yeah then I just end up basically having bread for
pretty much most meals yeah it's easy to do and who doesn't like a bit of sourdough with a few
crisp whacks in it although I would go awful soft white squashy bread when having a crisp sandwich
talking of food I did throw out a question about weird food combos.
I've got loads and loads of them. Thank you so much, but it has to be its own episode.
Some of the things you've sent me, I can't believe, and I'm very excited to talk about them.
Again, I feel like it could be a running ep, one every six weeks or something, because I've got
loads and loads, but we will. We all love food food we love talking about food and thank you I've got so many and that will
be happening very soon so thank you very much are you going to try some of the combos some of them
sound okay Nutella pasta no thank you oh no okay but that is the thing because hang on hang on
she's got really passionate about this one go on well
the pasta is just flour and egg which is in loads of desserts so it's not that different from putting
it you know i've had um pasta desserts before my italian neighbor when i was growing up used to
make it was spaghetti and it's like ricotta and all the sweet so good so much sugar in it but oh no maybe you're
right about the ingredients i i hear you there's nothing inherently savory in there it's it's all
just a base for yeah put sugar on it it's a dessert yeah i'm gonna get you a date to make That's it. First one in.
So I'm a little bit worried.
I don't want to put you under pressure or anything,
but what do we think about the next upcoming couple of weeks?
Are you going to be all right editing for me?
Yeah, yeah, it's fine.
It's fine.
Moving in a couple of days.
That's when one episode comes out. The internet stops and moves on that day.
Oh,
well done.
Then hopefully by the weekends,
I'll have a computer set up again.
I'm yeah.
I'll have the laptop loaded,
whatever I can.
I will,
if I need to check about and find wifi and go and sort of sit on people's
sofas and just do the uploading.
But I think actually from how it's working out, it's going to be okay.
Oh, good.
Oh, that is good.
Famous last words.
No, I'm sure it'll be all right.
I'm sure it'll be all right.
We'll get there.
We'll get there in the end.
The scraping the barrel episode with Mark,
where we were talking about duck,
and I'd had duck for lunch.
That night I went to bed, I've got to tell you this,
and I must have been thinking of Elia,
because the baby is not far away now.
We're waiting for this baby.
She's not due yet, but she's very, very close.
So it's on my mind that I'm busy.
I'm going to see the baby.
Where am I going to be?ly all about me yeah no I'm thinking I really want to be three days late if she's three
days late it's perfect for me but it's not about me and obviously the baby needs to come when he
comes yeah anyway I was thinking about the baby my dad the duck the day before, had a conversation about it. I had the most horrendous
dream.
I dreamt that
Elia had had the baby
and she was breastfeeding
the baby, but the baby
had a duck bill.
And the baby
couldn't get the milk
because of the bill.
I mean, that is my mind going 100 miles an hour, isn't it?
How many duck legs did they have?
No, they were just a baby.
Just a normal baby with a duck mouth.
Oh, what a cutie.
Well, you say, oh, it was quite disgusting.
Yeah.
Quite horrendous, actually.
But it was the fact that it was really one of those real dreams we
were all there and I was being really encouraging and this little this little face with this great
big bill and they were sort of trying to clasp onto the nipple but the milk was going everywhere
and Elia was getting stressed and then I was like oh please just just don't worry about it
we get there and maybe you know we should bottle feed the baby. And nothing was said about the duck bill in the dream.
It was normal.
Yeah.
And I just, again, I think that is funny.
You know, the dreams you have when your mind's doing 100 miles an hour.
And that was absolutely half and half of what I must, you know,
what I was talking about that day or what I was thinking about.
And I rarely dream. I rarely I'm sorry I rarely remember dreams I know that we dream all night long but it's I'm not one of these people to wake up and remember them vividly so when it happens
it's usually quite a you know a bit of a weird weird one one. Do you dream a lot? No, same. I don't remember them often.
And then when I do wake up with one that was like really vivid,
I'll go, oh, that was so weird.
I'll remember that all day.
And then it's got, you know, it goes quite quickly.
So you need to get one of those little dream diaries to write in.
Yeah.
The reoccurring dream that I have, which again, isn't often,
but a dream, if I do dream the dream I have is flying yeah
flying a lot I have one where I'm convinced that every time it's like oh no how have I only just
remembered I can I've always been able to fly and it but it's like sort of the jump you just jump
and then like gravity doesn't take you yeah as well and then you're suddenly just yeah going for ages yeah it's a nice one because you just feel like you're up there don't you yeah and then you're suddenly just yeah going for ages yeah it's a
nice one because you feel like you're up there don't you yeah and then but then there's again
the reality of it in the dream land where you're like oh yeah i've always been able to do this i
remember i do this every time why why don't why do i not do this every day because i remember i
can do this yeah so weird very weird. Very, very weird.
You wake up and you're like,
I can't.
No, I definitely can't.
Oh.
Can someone let me know
what it means when you're flying?
Mine isn't so much flying.
I never know where I am.
Different kind of scenario,
which I'm getting out of
or trying to get into.
Nothing like that.
But I kind of lift myself,
elevate myself off the floor.
And I said, jump up. And then it's's like and then it's a bit like a superpower and I'm really fast and I'm going up
and up and up and I can see an area view of everything but it's quite fast quite kind of
superpowerish I'd love to know what that means let me know please someone's got to know and and also tell us about what it means if you
if your niece gives birth to a duck faced baby duck mouthed baby but that's the bill
yeah just the bill i think that one is very self-explanatory because i was directly talking
about those two things i don't think we need to be in for that one. Oh, a little baby bill.
That's a good game.
I,
um,
yeah,
I've not even told any of that cause I think it will freak her out.
Yeah.
Maybe,
maybe not.
It is.
It wasn't a,
in the dream.
It was not,
you know what I mean?
Because it's a dreamlike state.
It wasn't,
oh my goodness,
what's wrong with the baby?
You know,
the baby,
that was the baby.
We all love the baby,
the baby healthy. And you know, so there's nothing wrong about that. It's just that the baby you know the baby that was the baby we all loved the baby the baby was healthy
and you know
so there's nothing wrong about that
it's just that
the bill
was freakishly
worrying
because it wasn't being
you know
couldn't feed
yeah
feed
you've got to give them seed
not bread
not bread for ducks
that's bad for them
oh absolutely
no I buy
I buy
duck food yeah duck's the garden center
we don't really feed the ducks anymore the kids grow up and you forget about it
yeah see the kids or yeah old men old men old women couples old couples i see off and out
but i don't think they're missing my seed i I mean, they're greedy bastards. They're being fed all the time, aren't they?
Yeah.
They get enough.
I don't think you should lose sleep.
My child's grown up and stopped feeding the duck.
What are we going to do?
I mean, they are being fed continuously all the time.
Yeah.
With the wrong stuff, like you said.
It's kind of better for them to rely on nature as well,
just getting themselves.
That's the problem with the bread. It's not giving them enough nutrients for the amount that they eating it
so then they're not putting the effort in to get the rest of their diet sorted they're kind of just
filling up on that yeah no i agree with you it sounds like me really buying the big packets of
sweet chili thai sensations i eat all that up gobblebble that down. Not interested in any veg.
Oh, when I was working on your gardening episode,
I realised I came up to yours, sorted out some tech for you. Didn't even take any tomatoes.
You didn't?
Or chillies?
No, no.
Oh, well.
Yeah, that's really annoying.
Oh, next time.
Next time.
I've still got some.
I've got quite a lot of green ones left.
Mmm.
Someone said you chop all those off.
Yeah.
You bring them in on the vine put them in a bowl with a very ripe banana you're going to lose the banana however that will ripen up the
green so i've got to do that when i get time there's also a green is it green tomato chutney
you can use the green ones in certain recipes and stuff there are but yeah
they will they can ripen they can still ripen yeah yeah i'll have a look at that though the
old green chocolate marvelous my darling friend jamie balthwick is now on our teleboxes on a
saturday night and strictly come dancing and i just have to mention it on my pod. Please vote for him. I love him to pieces. He's getting a little bit of a hard time, Em, because last year he did the
Christmas special and he won it. So there's this little bit of kind of, oh, a few comments. Oh,
yeah. You know, you can only do this once unless you're Jamie. And I thought last week, the first dance that he did,
I thought the judges were a little bit harsh,
but I think it's because
he's been in that environment before
and they really want to, you know,
make sure he does his absolute best.
But yeah, I got all a little bit
protective, aren't I, at the telly.
That was really, really good.
Why are they picking holes in it?
But you know what? It's really good. Why are they picking holes in it? But you know what?
It's really good.
He looked fantastic.
He didn't seem too nervous.
And it's just going to be so lovely every week sitting down with the family
and just watching a dear friend.
I always know someone in the show each year.
But when you've got someone that you care about a lot,
you really, your nerves go, you know, you're really there with them.
So it's just going to be a real, you know you're really there with him so it's just
yeah gonna be a real you know interesting ride for him I think did you watch it I haven't I'm
generally not a strictly kind of watcher but I've been to I mean to every time and then I forget
I keep seeing clips of Chris McCausland oh my goodness I cried my eyes out. Unbelievable. Yeah. So for people who don't know, he's the blind comedian.
And just imagining how, I mean, in the same way that you know what Jamie's going through,
you've been there sort of empathetically and kind of.
But yeah, then adding in how you do the dancing while blind, like it's...
It's incredible.
The steps that he conquered on Saturday evening.
Yeah.
You,
you know,
I wouldn't be able to do on the first week.
It was amazing.
And his comment to Craig was my favorite of the evening,
which was,
I'm going to be driving you home tonight.
Lovely stuff.
Yeah.
And they,
they sort of,
the interviews with them and they sort of said
yeah I don't know what to expect of course I've never watched it like yeah it's yeah I've heard
it yeah but yeah oh good luck to well good luck to Jamie good luck to Chris it's it's really yeah
good luck to all of them because honestly one seems brilliant as well Wynne Evans um and he's
Jo's friend who I do off the telly with,
Joanna Page.
They're really good friends.
So yeah,
it's absolutely brilliant.
And I do talk more about the telly box over on off the telly.
So please feel free to listen to that as well.
Well,
I hope everyone's weeks are going really well.
I feel like I don't really speak to the listener as much as I should in the
last few episodes.
And I know that we're always having a chat, be it Emma and I or Mark and I or the girls. And I'm absolutely loving the fact that you're
enjoying everything so much. But I do want you to know that I do love having a chat with you.
And I have said and mentioned about doing a solo episode where I just talk to you. And it feels
quite a daunting thing to do because Catherine
Ryan's amazing and that's what her podcast is. I don't know how she does it every week,
but I'd quite like to do a special episode where I babble away and you feel like that,
you know, I'm just talking to you. So again, that's something on my list that I really want
to do, but I do, I really hope that you're having a lovely week I'm really pleased that you're listening we have loads and loads of great stuff coming up we are
trying to think about a live show trying to get a date in at some point for that and think about
the concept of it so all of these little things are happening in the background we really have
only just begun remember it started in April it really is such a young podcast and
we're in the very early days even though you're enjoying it there's there's going to be a lot more
exciting stuff to come next year so listening keep subscribing keep telling people about it
and i'm just so grateful so thank you so much Hi this is Chris McCausland
