Kirsty it is so amazing to have you here I know we've been trying to do this for so long haven't
we it has been ages we met didn't we down at car fest with the lovely. We did. And I think we'd already spoken a little bit before then.
And then finally, it's that moment where you see someone in person and you've only seen a little bit of them.
And then you're like, it's you. So, yeah, we did.
Yeah, we did. And I've always sort of followed you, obviously, and absolutely loved everything you say, because I just think it speaks to me. Every time I read
something you put, it speaks to me. And I always think, is that the same for everybody? And how
does that work? So the reason I really wanted you on Life With Nat, for everybody listening,
Kirsty Gallagher, you have been 13 years teaching yoga and things all moon you've got five books you're a sunday times bestseller and your
sixth book is out in june am i right that's right yeah and i looked at your page last night
kirstiegallagher.com yes you must be so busy you have lots of courses loads of meditations on there it's such a brilliant website for people to just access
either a lot of what you do or a little I just want to know start me from the beginning
how did you get into everything how did it begin and how proud are you now of where you are
beautiful question so where it began I have to take you right, right back because my great, great, great Auntie Mabel was she read tarot cards and tea leaves and she was like proper witchy energy.
And as a kid, I adored her. She was like, whenever we lived in Lancashire, they were in Yorkshire.
And so whenever we were going over to Yorkshire to visit Auntie Mabel, I be like oh my god I was so excited and I'd just sit at her feet and she'd teach me how to read people's handwriting and how to read
the tea cups and she'd bring her tarot cards out and so I suppose she was one of my first spiritual
teachers really in a way she was very psychic as well so she she led me into this world that
can't be seen or understood by our human eyes and ears and our logical mind and I kept that with me growing up
I got my first astrology book at I don't know maybe 11 I remember sitting for days just reading
through this book and really helping me to understand things in a different way and helping
me to connect to the planets the skies the stars and then I got my first crystal around the same
age because it was a tiger's eye one of my birthstones and again I remember looking at this crystal and thinking this this grew from the earth
like this this is amazing and then I guess like many people do you know late teens you start
discovering nightclubs and going out things like that and so I kind of everything took a little
bit of a sidestep and then I guess two things kind of coincided at the same time.
I was in a relationship where we were very deeply into kind of spiritual exploration together.
And it was a really beautiful kind of deep relationship for learning and growth.
And then one of my best friends died really unexpectedly, like out of the blue.
And thank you.
It's beautiful because I credit her in this next book because it's one of the first times this next book
I've really shared a lot more about my personal story.
Oh, that's interesting.
Yeah.
And so Sharon was such a big catalyst for that.
And I remember going to her,
she had an open casket at her funeral
and I put a letter in there with her
and some crystals in there.
And I remember looking at her and thinking,
that could be me.
And all of a sudden,
all these things I'd worried about what
they might say the things I'd allowed to hold me back all of a sudden were like we could all leave
the earth at any time completely insignificant completely I was like that could be me in a
coffin and do I want to look back and think on my life and think because I truly do believe that
before we come down to earth we sit with our guys
we decide on what life we're going to have what lessons what challenges how we're going to grow
what we're going to learn and I was like do I really want to get back up there and have my
guys meet me and go what happened what what happened and I was like no I've got and I wanted
to live for Sharon as well I wanted to live for her and so I went home that same day broke up
with the guy was with moved out of our home the same day because something deep in me just had
told me we'd gone as far as we could together because again our relationships are reason season
lifetime and I feel like we'd done our reason together we'd done our season and it was time
and then from there I dived deep I became a crystal healer. I did Reiki.
I became a regressional therapist. I did so many different things, just trying to really explore
what's the meaning of life and what's my purpose? What do I want to offer in the world? I was
studying deep into metaphysics, astrology. It's very, very brave, isn't it? For people
listening, people might be stuck in a rut do you think
you need that catalyst that sort of shock to make you become brave for people listening that might
be in a hole I feel so you know if they haven't had a shock how would they be able to get out of
that do you know what I mean I know everybody, but my listeners, it's a very normal sort of real pod this. And I think they'd be so interested to hear how they can get out of a hole because I feel that I've been not in a hole, but't feel I've really had a shock, but for me turning 40 and going, is this all I want to do?
Is this it?
A bit like you said with the relationship you were in.
Am I going to look back when I'm 65 and go, oh, it's been really good, but this is all I've done.
And I've sort of made the jump to change things as well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I feel there's so many different
threads we could go on there I think one of the most important things is that's why I really adore
working with lunar cycles and astrology because otherwise what happens is we just move through
life in this very linear way and we tick off what society says we should do that you're meant to go
to school and get good grades and then get a good job and all important things until we do suddenly reach a certain point and it might be in the
spiritual world we call it a bit of a dark night of the soul where something will happen that all
of a sudden the very foundation of your life starts to crumble and everything you thought
life was about and that might be a death of someone very close to you death is one of the
biggest catalysts for life it may be an
illness it may be a redundancy it may be something like that that just comes along in your life and
really begins to shake things up and it may equally be just that little sense inside of like
I'm not quite happy here or I don't feel like I've got a purpose here or I don't feel like I'm
fulfilled here and I feel a bit groundhog day, like every day is just becoming the same over and over and over and over again.
And so what working with things like astrological cycles and lunar cycles does is it gives us these constant moments to sit and to check in and to say, am I going in the direction I want to go?
Am I fulfilling things in my life?
Do I have a goal at the moment?
Have I got something I'm
working towards? Am I putting everybody else's needs above my own and not thinking at all about
what it is that I might want? And if not, why not? And what little things can I do to change that?
Absolutely. And we spend so much time, don't we? I think especially as women you know when you have families and jobs and days
and weeks and months can just go by where you are just getting through the day you're working
you're washing you clean you know all the mundane things which like you say are really important
yeah but you need that time for you you do it's beautiful you're bringing this up because I think
it's something that's not really spoken about is that transition into motherhood and that big loss of identity that
comes with that because your life now is about keeping other humans alive and making sure that
they're okay but in amongst that there has to also still be a little a little semblance of you a
little bit but what still makes you you outside of being the mom the
cook the cleaner all of the things that come along with that and it is a thing I think a lot of women
do struggle with especially when they are parents and I feel on that note it's so important to just
take a little bit of time to yourself every day and I joke about it a lot but I say to a lot of
moms like if you can't find five minutes a day for yourself there is something wrong and that might mean that you lock yourself in the bathroom
and pretend you're on the toilet or having a bath it might be that when you get back from the school
run you stay on your driveway in your car because that's something you do anyway but then just take
those few minutes for you to go in and to check in and to take a few deep breaths and just to check in with how am I feeling today what do I need today if I were going to give
myself something in this moment now what would that be to keep coming back to that sense of
self and still nourishing and nurturing you yeah because I feel as well for women we're very told
we got taught from a young age how it's selfish to look after yourself and it's part of the
identity of being a woman isn't it the other caretaker and the caregiver but you can't give anything to anyone
else if you're so lost and so far from yourself and so malnourished in yourself so it helps to
to be a little bit selfish just for a few minutes a day but like you say it's not selfish even that
it's not being selfish it's self-care isn't it? I must tell you, because I think I'm just excited to tell you this. I bought my first set of tarots when I was about 11 or 12.
Oh, wow. right? I moved a few times over the years and like you, you start going out, you start doing whatever and it all sort of went away. But for some, I can't tell you why I got into it. I just
did. I just had a, you know, that astrology shop in Covent Garden. I used to go in there and just
be like, oh, it's still there. And I bought my cards in there. So I went back there about a year
ago and my little Joanie is eight and she collects crystals she's got her crystal book
and she collects them all and she's got them all in a big and wherever we go if we go to Cornwall
or if we go to Bournemouth she said can we find the crystal shop you know and we'll go in and
she'll pick a stone and obviously she's little so she's looking at color or shape or one she likes
absolutely but I took her into the astrology shop because she loves going into
there in Covent Garden. And I said to the man, he's an older man. I think he's been there for
a very long time. I said, I bought a pack of tarots from you a very long time ago. And he
stopped me. He said, I know. He said, I don't know which ones. He said, and I think I've still got
a pack downstairs.
And he went down and he got me the pack.
I'll put a video up when this comes out.
And I've got my new pack, which I've not opened yet.
And it's the Mythic Tarot.
He remembered.
He remembered that I'd bought them and he remembered exactly what pack I'd bought.
So big shout out to him.
I love so many things about this.
So first of all, I just live in a life I live in a more spiritual way I'd say that was a little nod from your soul that that was a little moment where your soul was
like you need to return back to this and so on this day at this time you're going to go into
this shop and that little nudge that said to you just mention the cards and there was maybe even
another voice that said oh don't ask him he him. He'll never remember. Don't be silly.
Yeah.
And you listen to that intuitive voice and then look what happens.
I know.
And those are like the synchronicities where I say there's magic in life and people are like, but like what?
And I'm like, like that.
It's so true.
It's so, so true.
That's a magical moment.
And that's from you just following that little nudge that said, ask him about those cards from however many years ago.
I love that.
I think another magical moment, and I'd love to hear about some more magical moments from you and the listeners.
Magical moments, coincidences that happen and you just think this is magic.
Yes.
My Mark, we met, we really got on, we went on a date and I found out later that he had come into EastEnders for work experience as a cameraman when he was 16. And he was on set with me at that time and he really fancied me at that time. And it wasn't till over 14 years later that we got together and when I met him and we started talking the amount of you
know that magic that electric energy that it was electric everything we spoke about we had a
connection to or we liked or we yeah and it is so rare that yeah it's so so rare to well as I say
it's rare it isn't it's just sort of luck being in the right place at the right time but you
wouldn't call that luck would you you'd say that's all mapped out absolutely absolutely I
totally would I would say that those are the moments that I have this belief that we call
into our life the people that we need to help us to learn to grow to evolve those soulmates
and so at that time had you two got together perhaps at that very first time it maybe wouldn't have worked because you had to then go off on your own journeys.
And he maybe thought about you for many years after you come into his mind.
And then again, you weaved back and then noticed how all that time everything had still been working to bring you together when it was meant to be.
Yeah. And it's actually mad because like you say, there's been bad experience through those gaps.
There's been amazing things happen.
You know, you have relationships with other people that teach you other things.
And yeah, you're so right.
Life is so complex.
So, so complex.
I didn't just buy this.
I've had this by Luna Living.
This was your Sunday Times bestseller.
Is that right?
Yeah, and then the goddess part I mean Lunar Living went in the Sunday Times three times three separate occasions how did that feel
incredible because none of us expected it and so I was um and this is what I always share this
because people are always like but it's all right for you because you've been on TV and it's all
right for you because you've written books when I wrote wrote Lunar Living, I think I had like 3000 followers.
Not that followers is a metric, but I was relatively unknown.
Yeah, no, it is. It is a metric in this day and age.
It is. I was unknown. You know, I wasn't making big moves in the world.
I wasn't famous. I wasn't on TV. I wasn't doing any of that kind of stuff.
I was just a girl with such a deep passion.
When I first started talking about the moon, I was just a girl with such a deep passion. When I
first started talking about the moon, I was ridiculed, like ridiculed. I remember papers
writing. I think I went on this morning or something and papers wrote about me being like
lunatic, lunar lady and all this kind of stuff. But I couldn't stop sharing about the moon.
And that is so brilliant that your passion for it, that and you know that's another thing media papers even
people's opinions that you don't know strangers they can knock you down and they can make you go
introvert and think you know what I'm not going to do that but that's how brave you were to continue
that and carry on because you believed in yourself and you believed in what you were talking about
yeah I believed in everything I was saying because it changed my life so much and so I was relatively unknown this book was coming out and then the pandemic here and we
were like no come on bringing out a book and like this is just gonna well no one's even gonna read
it no one's gonna see it and then I think because of the time we were in many people's life I mean
the pandemic for many people was like a
little dark night of the soul all of a sudden everything we knew to be true crumbles and I
think people were really looking for something to believe in yeah and something to look towards
at a time that life made no sense and I still remember that my publishers called him being like
um we've got something I I know I don't think anyone
could believe it they were like it's in the Sunday Times have you watched it because there'd been
there had been when I say no expectation I mean like minus 100 expect it hadn't even been on the
radar for any of us oh it's incredible and you're right that time and also people's because it was
so slow at that time and of course it was a a very scary time and lots of loss and grief and sadness for many,
many people and anxiety ridden sort of time.
I always say a lot of positive things came out of that time.
You have to remember the positives.
And when people slow down and when they were at home, they just had time to look up and
look at the stars, look at the sky yeah just take an
interest in that maybe yeah and I even used to say to people that even though you can't see your
loved ones right now you're all looking at the same moon in the same sky so my family would all
go outside and look up at the moon and I'd know that my mum was looking up at the same moon and
so the moon was like this universal energy I think that began to bring people together because
we can all look up at the sky and realize that we're all seeing that same moon no matter where we are.
Now, talking of the moon, obviously, like you say, crystals, meditation, your yoga,
lots of different practices, witchcraft, all the things. Why is the moon so special to you? Why do
you love the moon so much? What would you say to people about that really?
I think working with the moon really has changed my life in so many ways. I mean,
I love sceptics. I love anyone that comes to me and says to me, this is a load of rubbish.
And it's like, all I ever say to people is try it for yourself. And if it doesn't work for you,
it's not for you and that's okay. But just give it a try and you never know.
And so as we mentioned before, what many people do is go through life in this linear way I think one of the biggest disservices ever done to
humanity was making new year January the 1st because it's impossible to visualize to dream
to create to manifest when everything's dark and cold and gray yeah and nature's still under the
ground it's impossible I like that i want to know when would
you have new year then spring on the spring equinox on the 20th 21st of march and that's what
that used to be on new year that was the new year really until the calendars got changed and i think
they did a little bit of a number on us when they changed those calendars
but yeah i celebrate the new year as my the spring equinox sorry it's my new year
so I'll use the traditional new year to get a bit of a flavor a bit of a feel a bit of a
what does the year feel like is there a word for the year but I then use that time to do the inner
work of okay if I want this to be my long-term goal what do I need to be doing now do I need
to be resting learning something reading, reading something, studying something?
And then on the 1st of February, which has just gone,
we get what's called IMOC.
And that's a little cross-quarter festival
directly between the winter solstice and spring equinox
where nature starts to stir under the surface.
We start to see those first little seeds, the snow drops.
I can see my little daffodils.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I can see the little spikes coming through.
And that's what we should be doing now
so now we're all starting to like stretch a little bit and go okay let me like dip my toes into this
year and see what it feels like and then the spring equinox we start to grow and everything
in nature's are not you know that first smell of spring air where you're like yeah oh anything
feels possible right that's the new year yeah you're so right it brings hope doesn't it it
helps new beginnings and hope and growth growth is all around us that we can tap into and harness so
what we've done is we set these resolutions in january we've kind of failed by february
ourselves we're a bit like oh god i failed i'm so rubbish i'm so useless like i never stick to
anything i was meant to do dry january and then i had a glass of wine on the 15th because everything felt so blah and then we get in this mindset and
that's how we tend to move through the year and then by March we've forgotten our resolutions
and then by November we're all going it's Christmas in eight weeks where's the year gone
and a whole year of our life is gone and what did we do and so with lunar cycles we get at least two opportunities a month to sit
down with ourselves and say am i going in a direction i want my life to go and if not why
not what can i do because one of the big things i'm saying to people at the moment because obviously
the world out there at the moment is a bit of a mess it is yeah it's hard it's heavy it's a bit of a mess. It is, yeah. It's hard. It's heavy. It's a bit of a mess. But no one is coming to save us.
And so if we spend our whole lives thinking,
well, if only there were a different government,
my life would be different and I'd be happy.
If only my boss would treat me more nicely,
my life would be okay and I'd be happy.
If only my partner treated me differently,
I'd be okay.
And then we give all of our power away to the outside world.
You have to take responsibility world you have to take
responsibility you have to take it back we have to take it back and we've got to look and say well
if you're not happy in your relationship what are you going to do sit and have the conversation
don't keep allowing and accepting the behavior set some boundaries growing yourself look at the
parts of you that allow people to treat you in certain ways go in we're
way more powerful than we've ever been led to believe that we are would you agree so my mantra
as I get older more brave more confident within myself I feel that the people I have around me
my small circle but isn't a huge circle because the people around me, I can be me.
Yes. And if I'm busy, they're not angry with me or making sarcastic comments that I've not seen
them for three weeks or, you know, it's, there isn't any guilt as much as I do. You know, I do
actually still feel guilty or miss people and think, Oh, I can't wait to see them and I should be around more. You know, I think that's quite natural and you can't help it. But again, I think to have a
positive life and feel just not that stress and those little anxieties and troublesome
conversations. You just need people who love you and get you and let you just get on with what you need to do
and you'll see them or talk to them whenever that is do you agree with that I completely agree with
that but I'll take it one step further for you because I think you said it beautifully at the
start of that that can only come from when you are being completely you yeah because the whole time
you're trying to pretend to be a version of you that you're not people create this expectation of what they will get from you based on that version of you and if that's not
truly who you are as soon as you then slip into who you are that's when people are like well hang
on a second why are you now saying no and and so until you're being yourself you can't meet your
people because they don't meet you they meet a version of you that you think that they want you to be.
So then they're never going to be able to know you to be able to support you in the way that you need it.
So my friendships have deepened.
I actually messaged quite a few of my friends yesterday, fully enough, and just said,
thank you so much because I feel so seen and held and supported.
And there's nothing I couldn't share with you.
And it feels so safe to have those friendships. It makes you feel like you can do anything, but that's because I am fully me with
them. So I can only meet my people when they get to meet me. Yeah, no, that's so true. So true.
Yeah. So if you want to meet your person or your listeners and going, oh, I want a tribe,
I want a sisterhood. The first thing you've got to do is to be you and notice where in your life do you go when you sit with
that group and I'm this version of me. And then I go and sit with that group and I'm this version
of me. And then I go to my family and I'm this version of me. Where are you morphing yourself
to be all these different versions of you? Because none of them are meeting you.
Well, I agree with that to a certain extent. for instance when I do a podcast say with Emma my lovely producer I maybe talk about
things that I wouldn't talk to my nieces about which is more raucous or when I'm with Mark it's
sort of our dry sarcasm and sometimes I listen and I think god I do sound really different with
all those people but I am still being me. So help me understand that, because I do feel like sometimes I am different versions with different people, but I'm still honest and true to myself.
Does that make sense?
Yeah, of course. But that's the key. You are still you, because we are multifaceted humans.
People often think being on a spiritual journey means that you should wear all white and never swear or never do this or never have any
fun and be all serious about and we we are we're multi-faceted humans and there are going to be
some people that bring out that more fun side of you but the key is what you just said it's still
you being you it's not you going and censoring yourself in this place or not being you in this place or actually actively being a
different version of you because that's who either they want you to be or that's the version of you
that they knew from a long time ago you're still being fully true to you in all of that and of
course the work you might be a little bit different to the home you because we have to sometimes be a
bit more professional in our workplaces but as long as the as long as you're just being fully you saying what you want in the moment to who you're with and
you're not thinking oh god should I say that's that well no I better not say that in front of
that person oh they wouldn't like it if I spoke about this so I better not that's the key difference
it's still all just you yeah in that expression of filter in that moment. Yeah.

I had to message you because I thought I need someone to understand because when you talk
to people about it, a lot of people look at me in a funny manner. So I'll go to work and I will say,
oh my goodness, I had such a heavy night last night, full moon. And I've had a really bad night.
It's been really energy. The energies have been mad and I feel really drained so the four moons really really
affect me really really affect me and I think affect everybody but maybe they just don't know
it they might see it as a bit of a bad night or they're tired but I can I can't explain it I can
feel the energy draining out on me I remember messaging you saying like these full moons are killing me
you know so for people tell us a bit more in a simplistic way for my listeners you know new moon
full moon what kind of the basic things that people can pick up on and and you know start
this journey if they'd like to you know get to know about it more yeah so I think the first
thing I'll always say when we start to talk about
the moon and people being like oh the moon can't whatever the moon turns the tides on the earth
yeah it's the energetic pull of the moon that turns the tides on the earth we are depending
on what body part 60 to 90 percent water as humans it's also the moon that keeps the earth
on its gravitational axis so So without the moon,
it said that a day on earth would only be six to eight hours long rather than 24 hours because we
just spin so much more quickly and we wouldn't stay on our axis and we wouldn't have seasons.
So when we look at the moon, the moon does have such a huge gravitational pull.
If we want to look through simplistic terms, I start with the dark moon so i start at the
end the dark moon is a couple of days before a new moon where there is no moon in the sky
and so people want to start to tune into this what i always say to people is just notice the next time
your boss suddenly starts to irritate you or your partner gets on your last nerve or the kids are
being really annoying or you're just like, I'm so tired and I don't know what to do with myself.
And I'll almost guarantee it'll be a dark moon. Now, what the dark moon does is the dark moon is
the lowest energetic and emotional part of the lunar cycle. So the dark moon pulls us deep into
ourselves. So if we've been avoiding things ignoring things not
listening to that intuitive nudge very often we make ourselves busy as a way to not listen to
that inner voice so if we know we're not happy in our relationship or our job or we don't particularly
want to listen to it because it's a really big thing to admit those things because that then
you've got to make change yeah and it causes more work more problems
more brain power yeah more like what am i gonna do you've you know like you say it's brave yeah
so people just get busy busy busy busy busy but you might find yourself just floored like so tired
like i can't do anything and this is the moon almost bringing you in to get you to pay attention
to where you've strayed out of alignment yourself, where you're all the way over there.
And what I would describe as your soul self goes, what are you doing all the way over there?
You're so far away from where you can be in your life.
So if we start to notice this time, this would be normally a dark moon.
Now, the reason this happens is that for most people, most people don't know what they want.
If you say to a lot of people, what do you want from life? They oh and they might say i'd like to win the lottery or they'll give you something like that because we never really
take that time to check in because we're constantly allowing the outside world to dictate
social media will tell you that you want this and this advert will tell you that you want that
and this shop will tell you that you need these jeans or this mascara or you need this house or you need this car or you need to believe in this or you need to stand up for this the world
if we let it will pull us in a million directions telling us what we want yeah but is that really
what we want because we get a lot of those things they don't make us happy and then we're like well
no I really don't know what I want so most people don't know what they want so what the dark moon does is it shows you
what you don't want so if you can go well I don't want my partner speaking to me like that anymore
I'd actually love them to help around the house a little bit more because I'm fed up of always
being the one that's always having to pick everything up or I actually don't like the
job I'm in because I get home every day and I don't feel fulfilled I want a job that makes me
feel like I'm alive then the new moon comes, this is the very beginning of the lunar cycle,
the very beginning of a brand new 20-day cycle. As the new moon goes, all right, you know what
you don't want. What do you want? What do you want? Flip that. So the new moon is where you
set yourself intentions for what you want to create
and manifest over the following 29 and a half days for the lunar cycle now again because many of your
listeners will be new to this just let me give you a couple of little things here there's a couple of
little things the biggest mistake most people make is they go right i want a new job a new relationship
a new house a new this a new this and then we get a few weeks in and we go well see that moon stuff doesn't work no it don't work don't work tried it doesn't work still in the
same job it's a really beautiful form of self-sabotage when we set ourselves really big
life overhaul that we're not going to be able to do it's not achievable is it not in 29 and a half
days no it's not it's not so I say to people only work with about three intentions
maybe four or five make three of them quite small and doable and make the other couple a bit bigger
that you're going to achieve over three months or six months or nine months it's a little bit of a
bigger thing because again self-belief is like a muscle you've got to work it and that's why in the
beginning of manifesting journeys people joke and they they say, ask for a car parking space
because there's no emotional attachment
to a car parking space.
But when you get that parking space,
when you ask for it, you go, please angels or God
or please universe, give me a parking space.
When you get that, you go, I did that.
Yeah, it's true.
I did that.
I manifested that.
And the more you start to believe that you can do it,
the more then you're going to be able to go after those bigger and bigger and bigger things
because you start to believe in yourself.
So start small with little achievable things
because what will happen then is as you achieve them,
you'll believe in yourself to do bigger and bigger and bigger.
And when the small things like the car parking space,
which I often do and my niece Elliot does all the time, but I always remember my dad,
when we'd go to a hospital or whatever, someone would just be driving out and I'd go straight in
and he'd go, you are so lucky with car parking spaces. I think I'm quite a lucky person. I'm
quite a fortunate person. And I know you make your own luck, but I think that's because I've
got very positive energies and I'm very grateful.
And I think if you are good and you see the good in people, you give lots of compliments,
you're quite loving, you're just quite free flowing with stuff. I think you will get good
things back. I do believe that. Absolutely. You've just said it exactly though. You believe
in yourself in that now you you believe the
parking space will be there you know yourself to be a good person you freely give energy and love
out into the universe that's what it's all about and that's now come from seeing those things come
to fruition in your life so if we start small and people start to believe that god i can manifest a
car parking space there is always a space when i need it things always do happen for me in a good
way because what so many people do is even when they think of an idea their their initial thing
will be to think of the 42 things that will go wrong yeah the things that will block it yeah
yeah that's never happened because that might happen and then what if that happens then what
if that goes wrong and I say to people stop in that moment flip it and find just one thing that
will go right yeah just one way it could. And what you'll notice over time,
your mind will move from 42 things wrong to one thing right,
to 41 things wrong, two things right,
to 40 things wrong, three things right.
And over time, you begin to flip it.
So your first reaction will be 10 ways it could work.
And then it might be just that one little voice that's so,
but just be mindful of how that might not work out.
So you really believe it's a muscle and you believe that we can we can change and train ourselves to do
this you're not sort of born like it absolutely do you know what i mean because i feel like i was
born very grounded and i messaged you the other day but my son when i was born was in taurus
my moon was in taurus and i am a taureian so I was chatting to someone they said I don't feel I've
ever met a triple Taurus before because people say how have you stayed so grounded for all these years
and that's got to be a reason isn't it surely it has and I mean there were so many we need about
five hours together so your birth chart your birth chart is like your soul's blueprint. So your soul chooses the exact moment to come to earth based on your birth chart.
And then everything in that chart tells you of all of the different positive and negative aspects about you, the lessons, the challenges, what you're going to need to overcome, how you're going to grow, what you're going to learn.
It's all in your birth chart.
It's so beautiful.
So we are born with
certain elements and then when we look at our birth charts a lot of people know our sun sign
which is in like pop astrology where you read a few lines in a newspaper and it says today you'll
meet a stranger with a red tie on yeah you know but what we really need to look at is your sun
moon and rising which is called your big three and that gives you such a profound insight into who you are so if i take me for an example
i'm a leo son which means i should be naturally extroverted love being on the stage love to shine
i am not comfortable on a stage at all even things like this i get so nervous before doing things
and that's because i'm a tourist well you shouldn't because you're bloody brilliant
thank you i'm a Taurus moon.
So my Taurus moon wants to be at home on the sofa with snacks.
My Taurus moon wants to just be all curled up.
She doesn't want to go out there on the stage.
She's just happy being here by herself.
So if I feed my Taurus moon, my Leo sun can shine.
So this is where astrology plays in that you need to feed your moon.
Your moon is who you are on the inside when no one else is watching yeah your sun is how you're here to shine feed
your moon your sun can shine so we do come with a certain blueprint and we also do all get born
into different life conditions you know many of us speak from a place of certain privilege that
some people don't have oh absolutely i mean that is it's a huge huge thing you know we do need because people will be listening to this
going well it's all right for you to talking about being grateful and whatever but i'm working four
jobs and can't pay my heating bill do you know what i mean so it's hard for people it's absolutely
hard but on that note again if we can make our inner world a place you want to i used to spend
a lot of time in india when I was doing yoga training.
I've been in slums with people with nothing and they are the happiest people in the world.
And again, it comes down to what have we based our senses of success and happiness on?
Materialism, isn't it?
Once you get happy in here, you don't need all the material things anymore and
one of the biggest lessons to learn is to not make your happiness dependent on any person place or
thing because that person place or thing can disappear or go and then your happiness goes
with it that's what I was trying to say before about not looking to the outside as soon as you
live from the inside out and you look within you why do I feel so unhappy every
single morning why do I not feel like anything ever works out for me what's that internal story
and narrative I'm telling myself over and over again so more you tell it the more true it becomes
can I instead and I will I don't want to use the word argue it's a strong word but I'll argue with
anyone you can always find something to be grateful for.
I agree.
Two legs, they're working, you're breathing, you're not on the street homeless.
You can see, you can hear.
There's always something. I completely agree with you.
Always one thing, even if you're clutching at straws because you're in such a deep, dark place, you can find one thing to be like, I'm going to be grateful for this thing right now and as you said
before the more you live in that sense of gratitude the more you live in that sense of receiving and
allowing things to come to you the more you look for everything that's going right rather than
everything's going wrong it's whichever side of the road you look at we can look at the world now
and go this is going wrong this is going wrong this is awful this is going wrong and all that's
going to do is feed more of that. So you see more of that.
And it's more, yeah, you're so true about what you,
see I haven't been watching the news or listening to news radio for a little while.
Just because it's not me not wanting to know about things,
but it wasn't healthy for me.
No.
It just wasn't good for me.
I used to watch Question Time all the time
or listen to LBC all the time.
And it's just a lot of conversation,
which is important.
It's quite sort of negative or, you know,
down as much as it's informative.
It's really kind of, for me,
it just drained me.
It's all about kind of bad stuff
and people being negative to each other or arguing and I
thought I've got to take this out of my life I don't want it and how much happier do you feel
so much more so much happier that I put a pod on that makes me feel good or I put my favorite
playlist on and even those small changes I'm not telling everybody not to listen to the news by the
way but you know even those little changes they do make a huge difference but this is so this is
so profound so i mean i've not watched the news for years and i think we need to know enough to
be informed yeah but we cannot cannot cannot take on every cause in the world and so if we look back
at our ancestors we would live in villages of maximum 100 we would know 100 people in our
entire world if that many normally 50 as soon as that village got more it's split we would know 100 people in our entire world if that many normally 50 as soon as that village got
more it's split we now know thousands and thousands and our nervous systems haven't adapted to that at
one point you'd know the news in the village you wouldn't know the news of every single other
village that's so true that's not to say don't care about it but our nervous systems aren't set
to cope with every single issue in the world. We have to almost like pick our battles of
what's really important to us. And so while you're watching the news and you're taking that energy in,
that feeds into you. So you then have this more negative demeanor. You're looking at everything
that's going wrong in the world. Then you start to look at everything that's going wrong on your
street, everything that's going wrong in your family, everything that's going wrong in your
life. And you then become that same energy that feeds into that system the way we're going to make real
lasting change in the world is when each of us decides this is my life and my world and I want
to be happy and joyous and positive because now you make your family happy and joyous and positive
and then they can it's the ripple effect isn't it a ripple effect yeah so when we're all in that doom
and gloom and isn't it awful that's our life and it's like that that old saying isn't it takes one candle in a dark room to bring
the light on we need to start to be the light that's needed in the world at the moment we need
to start to be the positivity we need to start to be the voice of but this is your life and there's
only you telling yourself those stories in your head so start to tell yourself a better story
start to tell yourself something better start to tell to tell yourself something better. Start to tell yourself how well you're doing. Start to tell
yourself how proud you are of yourself. Start to tell yourself that you can make changes in your
life, that you can make things better for yourself, that things can work out for you.
Go and watch the sunrise. Go and put your feet on the grass. These things are free.
Go and hug a tree. Go and swim in the sea go and spend some time
with your kids where you're not scrolling instagram get out in nature get out in nature i'm i haven't
done anything i'm being really honest i've been really busy really busy i keep saying it's really
boring but i feel i can't wait to have some time where we just go and have a walk.
Yes.
Just really simple walk in the woods.
We've got a little wood where the bluebells come up, you know.
I just can't wait to do that.
Yeah.
And for some people, it might be, you know, something else.
But it is important just to be with the family, be with the ones you love without any interruptions.
And also, I think I've learned
the busier you get, I need to put my phone away actually. I need to just put it in another room.
I need to get it out of the way and not look at it. Or in the morning, I won't touch it
until my alarm goes off. That's annoying. I want to get an alarm clock so I don't need to do that.
But I won't pick my phone up in the morning. I'll have a good, if I can, a good sort of 45 minutes
where I don't look at it.
I think it's really good for your brain, you know?
Well, it is because what we also have to remember
is that in the world we live in,
there is an entire industry that profits
off your awareness and your attention.
Your main currency, your most valuable currency
is your attention and where that's going.
There is an entire industry that profits off you.
What are we even looking for when we keep scrolling?
There's an entire industry that wants to pull your attention and awareness outside.
There's an entire industry that benefits from you not feeling like you're enough,
that you need this certain mascara or this certain thing or to change a certain thing or do this.
There are industries that profit off pulling us outside of ourselves yeah and our true power then lives within of coming
back into that power center and saying but I'm enough just to say I'm in this moment it is so
powerful so powerful shall I finish off the moon for you yeah please we got so excited
so much on my brain now to think about there's so many other avenues we could go on yeah so we
were saying like pick three or four little things the next two weeks as the moon waxes or gets
bigger this is the outward facing part of the lunar cycle so this is where we do everything
we can do to make those intentions
come true. So say Sue, Sue's listening to you, right? At the moment. And Sue says, I'm going to
do this. I'm going to think about changing my job because I don't really like the people I'm working
with. I'm going to be a bit kinder to the kids and not shout at them. That's what i'd like to do so even if she had two things and in this waxing time yeah she's putting things into place sort of putting in the groundwork
almost yes so maybe looking for another job maybe you know talking to a few people at work about
what she's going to do so as to not upset anyone yeah maybe chatting to the kids and putting in
the groundwork yeah exactly that so that's
exactly what Sue will be doing Sue would it might just be as simple as create her CV because she
hasn't had a CV for many years she might sit and write out her ideal job what would my ideal job
look like how would I like to feel in my ideal job what would my ideal job look like she might
start to tell people oh I'm looking for a new job and I'd like this and this.
And then what will start to happen beautifully is a week later, we get what's called the first quarter moon.
So this is when you're going to look up in the sky and you're going to see half of the moon in the sky.
Yeah.
This is normally people's favorite part of the lunar cycle because this is when synchronicities happen.
Things come together.
It's like the whole universe is on your side so what might happen around this time is that Sue's friend of a friend says to her oh by the way someone was chatting the
other day they've got a job going at like my husband's place and I think that you'd really
really love it you should apply for it I heard you were looking for a new job but they wouldn't
have known that if she hadn't have put the groundwork in and said I'm looking exactly that
exactly that so this is when all the little signs and synchronicities start to come together. And this is the part of the lunar cycle
where you just say yes to everything. Like if someone calls and invites you somewhere, say yes,
because by going to that place, you might get chatting to a person who's got the idea. So you
just say yes, you do everything you can. You go, do you know what? I'm going to be brave and I'm
going to be bold. And it feels a little bit scary, but I'm going to push out my comfort zone.
And I set those intentions.
And so I'm going to book a day with the kids.
So I treat them to everything that they want because I want to be nice.
I'm just going to say yes to everything.
Right. OK.
And then two weeks later.
So first of all, just before the full moon,
there's what's known as the waxing gibbous moon.
This is normally the time people say they don't sleep.
So when you hear people whinging on social media going,
oh, it's a full moon, I'm not sleeping.
There is a little bit of truth to this because what happens is
this is now the highest point of the lunar cycle.
The moon's nearly full.
And the moon is saying to you, hey, listen,
two weeks ago you set these intentions.
You haven't got time to sleep.
You haven't got time to go to sleep.
You've got stuff to be doing.
So this is the time that if one of your intentions was to write a book
you write through the night or you jot down all the things that are coming into your head
and what I really ask people to do at this time as well is to notice when you're lying awake what
are you thinking about because normally and I always pray people agree with me at this point
but when I'm lying awake at 2am what's actually happening is I'm having that conversation with
that person to tell them that thing I didn't tell them at the time, but I should have told them.
And I'm going over those things in my head that have like annoyed me or irritated me.
This is again, a really good sign from the moon, if you choose to believe in lunar energies,
of those things that need your attention. Now we're going to get the full moon. So what the
full moon does is it illuminates your life and it shows you where you are.
It's a big reality check.
I ask people to do two things on a full moon.
The first one is celebrate yourself
because as humans, we don't do it.
Even when you say to me,
oh, your book is a bestseller.
I go, well, yeah, thanks very much.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know, I mean, some people are better than others,
but especially as women, I work with mainly women.
So I speak more for women.
You just think she is?
That's right.
She's flash.
She's got an ego.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sat in a way about herself, about how good she is.
Yeah.
Me and Emma talk about it often.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So there's this whole thing.
So women then are afraid to ever celebrate their wins.
And that's why, again, as we said before,
it's so important to have those girlfriends who will celebrate you behind
the scenes.
They're like,
I've got,
my friends are cheerleaders.
They're happier than me when things happen to me.
It's so important to celebrate yourself.
So look at your new meaning intentions and look at what you did do and what
you did do well.
What did I do well?
How was I a bit brave?
What did I do that was a bit of my comfort zone?
Because again,
this is going to help you to trust yourself and believe in yourself and begin to move towards what you want.
And so that's at the end of that 29 and a half day
and you're sort of doing a little review.
No, that's halfway.
This is halfway through at the full moon.
So new moon, two weeks later full moon.
Two weeks later.
Now we've got our second check-in.
New moon's first one, set the intentions.
Full moon's second one, illuminating.
What did I do well?
And then what the full mean does is it shows you where you got in your own way so now sue will get to sit there and go
oh i got invited to that event but i didn't go because i didn't think anyone had talked to me
or i got told by that friend of a friend about the job at a boss's place and then i didn't apply
because i probably wouldn't get it and they wouldn't be interested in someone like me so I didn't send the CV in
and then I actually did hear about that other job but again I just it felt like a bit too big for me
and I didn't so now we get to see our sabotages now we get to see how we get in our own way how
we declare we want something and then we don't necessarily do what we need to do to get there
so the full moon is like this big illumination where the moon is like and this is now whereas
the dark moon the new moon is the lowest point of the lunar cycle this is the highest energetic
and emotional part of the lunar cycle so this is where when i used to live in central london
on a full moon i'd know i'd know it's a full moon because i knew anyway people would be beeping their
horns at each other,
swearing at each other.
Everyone's aggravated.
Someone's kicking off in a shot.
Once you know about lunar cycles,
you know.
Yes, so true.
So true.
I'm going to let you finish this,
but we've got to have a quick chat about the Mercury retrograde.
Right, we'll chat about that.
Let me finish this for you real quick.
Absolutely.
So this is where now
all of our emotions
are at the surface
and we can't ignore them.
So this is where if we look at it honestly, the surface and we can't ignore them. So this is where if we look at it honestly,
the frustration and anger we normally feel at a full moon
is with ourselves for not doing what we knew we should have done,
for still allowing that person to treat us like that,
for still shouting at the kids when we wanted to do better.
And the only reason we shout at them is because we're exhausted
because we didn't go to bed on time like we said we were going to
or we weren't doing the things we said we were going to,
so we got resentful and we took it out on the kids.
We start to really be able to look then at all of those different things
and this illuminating light shines.
So the next two weeks then, it's okay,
well, what do you want to let go of and release?
What do you want to let go of?
What's in the way?
Now, a lot of people get confused with letting go because they're like,
well, how do I just let go of a limiting belief? We want to add more of the opposite in.
So if you realize you have this constant belief that I'm not good enough, that job would never
want me, your work over the next few weeks is to find affirmations or to look yourself in the
mirror at the end of every day and tell yourself what you did well. And every time you do something,
I do it all the time now.
If I do something, like I started driving recently.
I'd not driven for 10 years living in London.
I started driving.
At the end of every journey, I'd stop the car and I'd go,
well done, curse, well done, curse.
You did so well.
Well done, curse, well done, curse.
And the confidence build up over such a short space of time
is incredible because every time I finish a journey,
I'd be like, well done.
So every time you do something good over the next few weeks you might speak a truth or stand up for yourself
or set a boundary you go well I need to do this at the moment because I'm rehearsing at the moment
and we've got the 40th live episode of EastEnders it's live you know for half an hour and it is
petrifying yeah and I do, I haven't done it yet.
I do, I need to start having a word with myself.
Yeah.
Because you can get so worried about it
and the failure and what if it goes wrong
and everyone's watching,
but actually I've got to get all that out of my head
and go, you're going to do really, really well.
Be proud of yourself and just do,
just remember, just you can only do the best you can do.
Don't think about anyone else. I need to concentrate on me. I really do. I was just going to say that you just do just remember just you can only do the best you can do don't think about anyone else i need to concentrate on me i really do exactly i was just going to say that you just
do your best you show up with all of you and do the best that you can and give your entire heart
and soul to it you can't go wrong i hope so got this but that yeah that's so that's what you need
to be doing so yeah this is the work so the work over the next few weeks is the letting go it's the setting
boundaries it's the having the conversations you need to have with people where you're not happy
so if you realize your relationship wasn't doing so well and at the new moon you wanted things to
be better and you were going to work on this is when you sit down and you have that honest
conversation say look this isn't working for me this needs some change for me you might speak to
your boss friends whoever it is.
You have the hard conversations.
You set the boundaries.
You start to let go of everything
that you no longer want to keep perpetuating.
Again, a week later, we get the last quarter moon.
You look up, half the moon is in the sky again.
This is the big release point of
what do I not want to take into this next cycle with me?
What am I not going to
keep repeating? What story am I no longer going to keep telling? What behavior am I no longer going
to keep doing? And then we get back to that dark moon that again shows you what you don't want,
you flip it and know what you do want. I almost guarantee your listeners, and I'd love them to
feedback to you, but if you worked with the moon just for three to six months I mean if you did it for a year your life would change in ways you cannot even imagine
it's amazing isn't it really just from having that sit down with yourself getting honest with
yourself and it hasn't got to be because I think people are scared because of moons and astrology
you know I do think people go oh it's just not for me it's all a bit airy-fairy. Yeah. But I've done it without even thinking about it.
So it isn't a big thing.
But I will be aware of what shape the moon is and think, oh,
God, that's a bit heavy because of that.
Yeah.
And I'm not doing loads and loads of moon work yet.
Far from it.
But even being aware of it and having the odd sentence in my mind about it,
I feel has changed things dramatically for me.
And I haven't even done a lot.
Yeah.
And that's how simple it can be.
Because it doesn't need to be some big ceremonial thing where you have to have
incense burning and certain music playing and sit in lotus position and get all
the work.
A lot of people get scared they're going to get the words and things wrong.
I mean, you don't, you just need to sit and have an honest look at okay how's my life feel right now
my relationship could be a little bit better do i love my job maybe and then okay well what three
little things can i just look to change over the next few weeks yeah that's simple it is it's magic
it really is real magic it really is now me and Elia and Maria, we always talk about the Mercury retrograde.
Because that, I mean, honestly, you're feeling a right old two and eight, don't you?
It's not even a joke.
You really feel in a tears what it makes you feel like.
When's the next one of those?
What have we got to look forward to?
I'm going to need to get my ephemeris out for you here and then I can tell you when our next one
could you just tell us, give me a warning
and also just explain to people
what happens around that time
and what it is
so March
because there's loads of memes
you get memes on Instagram
there's loads of memes
strap in for the 15th of March everybody
and also we have a lunar eclipse a full moon lunar eclipse the day before so strap in, strap in is all 15th of march everybody and also we have a lunar eclipse a former lunar
eclipse the day before so strap in strap in is all i'm gonna say strap in um so mercury retrograde
mercury retrograde gets such a bad rap of like oh mercury retrograde is going to come in and
ruin your life and i do think that's what i think the spiritual world astrology people try to
over complicate it and make it very
very scary and a bit doom and gloom and it doesn't need to be and that's where I really pride myself
on trying to just take that and make it really relatable so what can Sue do about this you know
what we need to just bring it down to yeah we can all work with this energy how let's just strip all
of the the stuff away from it that's it that. That's it. Just in simple terms. Simple terms.
We can all work with it.
So Mercury retrograde gets his bad rap.
It's going to come in and ruin your life,
which in a way it kind of does.
And tongue in cheek,
it's great to blame Mercury for everything.
Mercury is the planet of communication,
of travel, of tech.
And so when Mercury retrogrades, Mercury is going to affect all of these things now mercury
retrograde isn't particularly rare it happens about three times a year for two to three weeks
at a time so it comes around fairly often but here's the beauty of mercury retrograde what
mercury retrograde especially in this world we live in now says to us is slow down you are rushing
through your life and the biggest analogy i always give for this is when I used to live in
central London,
you'd be standing on the cheap platform and you get that person that'd run
onto the platform and the cheap would just be pulling out and they'd be like,
Oh,
they'd be like the worst thing in their life that they just missed achieve.
And it's like,
yes,
another one coming.
There's one in two minutes.
Yeah.
It's not like,
and I used to be like,
wow. Yeah. That's how we live two minutes. Yeah. It's not. And I used to be like, wow.
Yeah.
But that's how we live our lives.
Yeah.
So Mercury retrograde says, sit down on the bench while you're waiting.
Take a deep breath.
Have a moment.
Have a little read of the posters.
Just give yourself a minute.
Just have a minute.
Don't rush in the first place because there's another one coming anyway.
Just walk down the stairs instead of run down them.
It's all going to be okay. So mercury retrograde might mess up your tech but mercury
saying to you do you need to be scrolling instagram do you really really really need
to be scrolling instagram right now is that really what you want to be doing is it necessary
is it necessary mercury retrograde might mess up your travel but mercury retrograde saying
give yourself an extra hour to get to where you're going and sit and look out the window and enjoy the scenery and enjoy it i do panic though kirsten
i do panic if i'm late for anything but then give yourself extra time in mercury retrograde that's
what i'm saying if you need to if you know it's going to take you one hour leave yourself two or
three and then when you get there early sit and have a nice coffee yeah sit and have a nice coffee
and take your book with you.
Give yourself that time so you're not leaving two minutes after you know
you should have left with a piece of toast in your hand
and a coffee cup lying everywhere and you're already rushing.
Living like that with our nervous systems is so stressful.
So just be like, so Mercury Retrograde gives us this beautiful gift
of like slow down and take your time.
Communication, Mercury Retrograde says be on point with what you're saying. gives us this beautiful gift of like slow down and take your time communication mercury retrograde
says be on point with what you're saying are you using 400 words when you need to are you speaking
your truth or are you like swallowing down your words and not saying what it is that you want to
say because in mercury retrograde they're going to come out and they might come out in the wrong way
yeah because they're just you know so think about what you want to say take your time be meaningful with your words
so when we can use it in that way it's such a gift and what mercury does is it asks us to do
all the rewords so we need to re-explore revisit re-examine and so mercury's mercury goes mercury
doesn't actually go backwards it's from our vantage point on the earth and so the best way
i can describe it is if you're going down a motorway and another car starts to go faster than you and you feel like you're going backwards.
Yes, I know.
But as Mercury goes backwards and retraces its steps, Mercury asks us to do the same thing.
So to look back at things in our past and where we maybe didn't handle things in such a brilliant way and to not look back and go, oh, God, you're so rubbish.
But to go, OK, how would I handle that now knowing what i now know people joke all the
time about mercury bringing x's back around or all the x's come back true but that again is to show
you mercury will only bring back whether it's unfinished business or loose ends that need
tying up isn't it interesting so if an ex comes back around it's a chance to look
at this and go was there anything left unsaid was it left unfinished in a way were there actually
things i need to tell them have i left a bit of a door open and that's preventing me from moving
into new doors what needs looking at here so none of the planets will ever do anything bad to us
they just make us see what's already there so mercury will show you
where you're rushing show you where you're not speaking your truth show you where you're overly
scrolling on instagram or that moment where netflix is like are you still watching mercury
do you want to still be watching like do you want to still be doing this and then mercury is going
to bring up anything that's in your past that's loose ends or finished business that keeps pulling
you back into the past yeah so you
can tie it off complete it and then move forwards in a different way brilliant so it's not to be
feared it's to be respected because it messes up our lives but don't fear it don't fear it go with
it go with it and the more it's messing you up the more you need to listen the more that's mercury
being like you need to like listen
yeah listen okay brilliant oh I could sit here and just talk to you for hours on end
I hope to see you at something this year have you got anything lined up talks festivals that
you can tell us about I am doing a tour I'm going on tour with the new book
which I'm super excited as I mentioned before before, this book is a real, it feels very vulnerable for me because I share a lot more of my story, but it's a lot more
as well about the spirituality, the spiritual beliefs I live by. And so we go into a lot of
things we've talked about of living from the inside out and raising your vibration and how
to trust the process of life when it feels like it's falling apart, dark night of the soul. And
then I also go through all the astrology that we mentioned
before about what makes you you so that you can start to really understand yourself in a better
way so we're going to do a big tour around that which is just going to be about gathering a load
of like-minded people together in a room to just raise our vibration to be with our soul to really
remember who we came here to be oh that sounds very excited for that that's brilliant
