Today we are going to be building our ultimate football teams for 2026 with a little bit of a twist.
We are going to be using an NFL team randomizer to pick a new team for every single draft pick.
Basically, we're going to get Kansas City.
You've got to decide, do I want Patrick Mahomes at quarterback?
Do I want Rishie Rice at wide receiver?
And once you've picked a guy, you have locked in that position.
So let's jump into things, Mello.
I'm a gracious co-host.
I will give you the first pick in the draft.
Let's see who you've got to pick from.
I'm so excited to destroy you in this draft.
And we're going to need people in the comments to let us know who did better.
Ooh.
Denver.
All right.
This is an interesting one because it's a really good team, but it's not a team.
I'm like really excited.
The pieces aren't obvious.
No, the pieces are not obvious, which is a good first team to get.
So we're going to go one quarterback, two running back, two receiver, tight end flex, correct?
Yep.
Sweet.
So I am going to go ahead.
head and take RJ Harvey here.
I know he's a guy you like a lot.
Yeah.
And I like the upside.
Hopefully he could be maybe the next Alvin Camara.
I don't know about that.
But catches a ton of passes.
It's the perfect offense to be a pass catching back
with Sean Payton loving to throw the ball
to the quarterback.
Boonex loving to throw the ball
or throw the ball to the running back rather.
Both Boatnecks and Sean Payton.
So I like the upside there.
You're two running back.
The efficiency's got to get a little bit better
than what we saw last year.
For sure.
But there have been plenty of past catching backs
to have efficiency issues the rookie year
and then turn it around.
Christian McCaffrey,
super inefficient as a rookie,
but was just so good in the passing game.
Year two, super efficient.
I'm not saying R.J. Harvey will be Christian McAfrey,
but there's a chance that efficiency increases.
And I think he's probably the most high upside player
on this offense from a fantasy perspective.
So I'll take R.J. Harvey.
There's no right or wrong answers,
but that was the right answer.
All right, let's go on to number two.
Here's my first pick of the draft, and we'll snake this.
Jacksonville Jaguars.
Oh, oh.
Another ambiguous one.
I don't love this because I think there's a guy I have to go with here,
and it just kind of sucks.
No, I'm going to go, I'm going to go Travis E.TN.
I was going to go Trevor Lawrence, but I don't want to use my QV yet.
No, B.T.J?
No, absolutely not Brian Thomas.
I thought you were going to say.
I thought you were going to say Parker Washington.
It didn't even cross my mind, but no.
I'll go Travis E.T.N. with my pick.
And it's interesting.
It is worth doing with E.T.N.
He is set to hit free agency.
For the purpose of this exercise, he obviously counts towards the Jaguars.
And I think there's a good chance he's back.
But he's somebody who could be in a much better or much worse situation going into next year as well.
Yeah, I think I'm going to regret not taking Parker Washington.
But let's move on.
My second pick here.
Give me somebody good. Come on.
Give me somebody I can take a quarterback from.
Cincinnati Bengals, I will be taking Jamar Chase.
There we go.
I literally almost because I was so excited to do quarterback, I almost said Joe Burrow.
But we talked about it in our wide receiver episode, Jamar Chase.
He finished us the wide receiver four last year in this disaster season.
So for me, this is so obvious.
He's your 101.
He's my wide receiver one second overall pick.
So that's a no-brainer.
Give me Jamar Chase.
Yeah, absolute no-brainer.
You got your superstar.
I'm going to need a superstar with one of these next two picks here.
I need the randomizer to be nice to mellow here.
You need a big one.
Here we go.
New York Giants.
I was hoping for a mega superstar,
but I still feel really good about Malik neighbors.
Yeah.
That's somebody who's going to be going in the first round of drafts.
This is an obvious one.
We talked about like Broncos, Jaguars could have gone a few different ways.
Giants, it's obviously Malik neighbors.
it could never be anyone else.
I will definitely be taking leaked neighbors.
He's going to get so much volume.
And an offense that I think could get a lot better next year.
Yeah, I think that was fun,
because the first two were a little bit more ambiguous.
Those two were just so obvious who you got to take there.
All right, here we go.
Your second pick of round three, two?
No, this is the round three pick.
Las Vegas, Raiders.
I think another obvious one.
There's really only two guys you could potentially argue.
Gen T, obviously being one of them. We both love
Gen T going into next year.
But tight end is so difficult to fill.
And I don't trust this randomizer to give me
the Cardinals later. Give me Brock Bowers.
Give me that positional advantage.
That's huge for me right there.
Yeah. I...
There's just so many teams that I would want
to maybe just have to punt my RB2 on
and build elsewhere that I wasn't
going to go Gentie. But I would see the argument.
I think Brock Bauer is the right choice.
Yeah, I think I had to.
All right, let's see.
I'm back up.
Two straight picks here.
And I got the Jaguars again.
Parker is begging.
Give me Parker Washington this time.
I'm keeping the dream alive.
I mean, you've got a real quarterback.
Parker Washington, though, just to talk about him for a minute,
like, if you're someone who's lost faith in Brian Thomas Jr.,
and now we have the news that Travis Hunter is going to be playing full-time corner,
part-time wide receiver, like, I think Parker Washington is one of my favorite breakout candidates.
this year. He's a little nerve-wracking to take in an exercise like this where we are trying
to build the ultimate team. Like, I don't feel incredible about Parker Washington here, but
if you ask me some of the guys that I think are going to exceed expectations and their
ADP this season, like Parker Washington's towards the top of my list.
Mitch, I like Parker Washington. I like him a lot. You're crazy for taking him over both
BTJ and Jacoby Myers. I respect you, though. You're sticking to your guns. You love Parker,
and you're sick and do it.
Jacoby Myers is closer,
but I just don't want to do the Brian Thomas thing anymore.
I think I'm out on it.
After last year, yeah.
It was so gross, so I can understand that.
All right, who do we got next?
And now we'll get the Miami Dolphins.
I will take Devon H.N.
There was a little, is Tyree Kill a free agent?
I think he's still under contract,
but everyone and their mother knows he won't be with the team.
team next year. So that one's kind of a weird situation. Yeah. Yeah. I think A-chan, just the volume there,
it's funny that I'm taking him because you're so high on him in our top 12 running backs and I was
much lower. But the talent's undeniable. The role will see how things work with a new coaching staff,
but and potentially a new quarterback. But the explosiveness and how electric of a player he is,
I think he's my best option there. My only issue is it kind of stinks that I just filled out
both my running backs.
Yeah, and both receivers.
I mean, you still have the flex spot
so you can go, you know,
one more of either of those positions,
but now you're kind of forcing yourself
to have to take your quarterback
and tight end here soon.
Yeah, I risked this a lot.
I'm going to need something to come up big here for me,
but let's move on to your next pick.
I need you to get some trash.
I didn't even know this thing could repeat a team twice.
Oh, Mitch, you're in big trouble, brother.
I'm in trouble.
You're in big trouble because I just got
Bejohn Robinson at my running back spot.
Now I feel good about taking RJ Harvey too, because RJ Harvey's a great
running back too to get Bejohn as my running back one.
Falcons, there's actually some weapons for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in years
and years, but Bejohn trumps them all. He's your 1.1. You took my 1.1, so I have to
take your 1.1. You know what? That was only fair. You're right. I should be calling these out
also for audio immediately. Atlanta Falcons coming up for Mello here.
just to give an update now that we are four out of seven picks in each of us
my team so far Travis E.T.N. Devon A. Chan
Jamar Chase, Parker Washington, and Mello has RJ Harvey,
Bijon Robinson, Malik Neighbors, and Brock Bowers.
I'm getting my shit smoked right now.
Luck of the draw, brother.
I'm going to get like the bills here.
Yeah, if you get the bills and steal my quarterback from me.
All right, you get the picture.
Well, I'm obviously going to take Drake May here. I mean, I was hoping for Josh Allen, but
I can't complain getting the third quarterback on my board, second quarterback and fantasy
pros consensus rankings. I'm loving this team. I'm really feeling great about this team.
Your team is absolutely loaded so far. That was a huge pick. All right, pressure's on for me right here.
I've got quarterback and tight end that I need to fill and then flex so I can basically put anybody but a
quarterback into. Who do we got up next? And I will get the Cincinnati Bengals again. I will go with
Joe Burrow on this one and fill my quarterback spot out. They just love giving me the repeats.
That's a naughty stack though. If we're counting the stack as part of the build, that's incredible.
Burrow to chase. Yeah, and we talked about this. I might butcher this stat, but I believe Joe Burrow was
the quarterback three in points per game after you returned in week 13 this season. We had so much
confidence in him as the fourth quarterback off the board for fantasy this year.
I just, he's somebody that inspires a lot of excitement in me.
And like, as I look at my quarterback rankings, I feel like you got the better QB,
but it's closer than I thought it was going to end up being.
Yeah, that definitely helped bridge the gap right there.
All right, let's move on.
You have now got, oh, wait, no, I've got this pick.
Yeah, this one's yours.
I'm back up. I've got the Giants.
You already took Malik Neighbors.
Oh, and I just took Joe Burrow.
I was like, maybe you got to take Jackson Dart there.
Wondale will still count.
This is really tough.
I'm between Wondale and Scatabo.
I'll take Cam Scatabo.
I think the upside is higher just with Malik neighbors back healthy.
I have a hard time seeing Wondale playing together another 1,000-yard season,
even though I think he's extremely talented.
But this was not the team I wanted to see right now.
I...
Yeah, I'll stick with it.
Part of me wanted to go and just take Theo Johnson
and punt the tight end position.
The problem is, yeah,
punting the tight end is something you got to do
a lot of the time in real drafts too.
I don't know if there's a worst team to punt tight end
than the Giants and Theo Johnson.
Yeah, it's bad.
This was a bad situation.
So I'll take Scadavo.
This is tough.
We're going to have to do a rematch of this at some point.
I'm getting smoked.
Let's see if I can finish
strong here. I got a receiver and a flex I need to fill. You're in a good spot for just like having
options. Oh, the Bengals. I can't take Jamar from you, but I sure as hell could take tea. I also
could take Chase Brown. Yeah. I, because I honestly view them kind of similarly, I think I prefer
tea by a hair. And because I need a receiver and a flex, not a running back in a flex, it makes more
sense for me to fill a receiver anyways. So I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to take tea.
Higgins here. Yeah, I think that's the right pick. So we are now going into your next pick,
which will be your final pick. So we've got one round left. I've got Joe Burrow, Travis E.T.N.,
Devon H.N., Jamar Chase, Parker Washington, Camp Scadabo. You've got Drake May, R.J. Harvey,
Bejohn Robinson, Malik neighbors, T. Higgins, and Brock Bowers. Let's do your final pick right here.
What do we got?
Carolina Panthers. I love this team because now I can go ahead and put T-MAC in my flex spot.
I've talked about him. Love the year two breakout. Love the talent, the draft capital.
He's going to be hyper-targeted next year, even more so than his rookie year, I think.
I'm on cloud nine. Yeah, this is great. I saw Panthers and immediately was like, okay, this is fine.
And then I remember T-Mack and I was like, damn it, this is a great, great pick for your flex, fills out the team really well.
Harvey, Bejohn, Neighbors, T. Higgins, T. Mack, and now Brock Bowers.
Sorry, Brock Bowers and now T-Mac.
Love this.
All right. Let me move on to my final pick of the draft.
I need Cardinals right here. I need a tight end so badly.
Oh my goodness.
Arizona Cardinals.
I will take Trey McBride.
We could not stop gushing about Trey McBride in last episode as our overall tight-end one.
I might have to switch him to buy Tid N-1 after this, just for my own bias.
It's a sign.
The tight end won last year.
He was Kyle Pitts at Titan 2 was closer to Kate Otten, who was the Titan 27 in points per game than he was to Tray McBride.
An absolute positional advantage and the saving grace of this draft for my team.
That's like in a boxing match when one guy is just beating the piss out of the other.
And then right at the end of the final round with like five seconds left, he just delivers a close to knockout blow, not a knockout blow.
Yeah.
But a good enough hit where it's all the same.
sudden a little bit more ambiguous in terms of who the winner was.
Absolutely.
Let's take a look, position and position at our teams before we wrap things up here.
Joe Burrow and Drake May, I would give you the advantage there.
But those guys are neck and neck in my rankings.
Yeah, same here.
E.N. and RJ Harvey, I'd absolutely give you the advantage.
It's not crazy, but it's enough that I'm like, yeah.
Bejohn and Devon A. Chan, you 100% have the advantage right there.
huge getting my personal 101 at wide receiver one
Jamar Chase and Malik Neighbors that's one I can finally
confidently say I got a huge win on
Parker Washington and T. Higgins
T. Higgins definitely gets the win but I don't know if either
one of us got like a crazy good wide receiver two
I guess if you want to just flip-flop them though next up you got
Tederoa McMillan who's more likely your
wide receiver two with T at the flex yeah I would agree
And I had Cam Scadabo
And then at tight end
Trey McBride and Brock Bowers
It thank God for that
Because it ended up closer than it could have been
Yeah, I got your tight-in one
And you got my tight-in one
So that one's kind of a wash
Yeah 100%.
Let us know down below though
Who do you think won this draft
And let us know if you think we should do
Another one of these
That is it for this week's episode
Mello, you got anything left for the people?
Please confirm in the comments that I won
Because I know I did
All right, perfect. We'll catch you guys
next time.
