Starting point is 00:00:04 All right, welcome into the lineup football betting show. I'm Mitch Anderson. I'm Jack McCarthy. What's up, Mitch? And it is NFL divisional round of the playoffs. I am fired up. We're going to be looking at a couple of our picks from last week, but mainly we are jumping into our divisional round picks.
Starting point is 00:00:21 So without further ado, let's jump into it. But first, make sure to drop a like, comment down below your favorite divisional round pick. And we're going to get into our NFL preview. Let's go. Oh, baby. All right. We are jumping into the board here, starting off 430 on Saturday. The Buffalo Bill is heading to Denver to take on the Broncos.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Give me your notes here first. Oh, Mitch, I have said this all year long. I am no Boe Lever. I do not believe in Bo. I know the record speaks for itself. I know the numbers. I know Sean Payton's Mr. QB guru. But I'm not a believer.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I'm very curious as to see how the Buffalo Bills do. coming off their first road win in the playoffs in like 35 years, whatever it's been. Josh has got him roaring. I know he's got no receivers. It's a clash of styles here, Mitch. I've been talking about it. I've been ready to bet against Bo Nix. One thing I'll say that's a great point to bring up, like coming off of their first road win, Denver's a little tougher of a place to play than Jacksonville. I'll say, I'll say, hey, we...
Starting point is 00:01:30 We don't have a pool in the upper deck, brother. Yeah, yeah, no pool here. Just high altitudes. Just high altitude and some loud fans. They haven't had a... Dude, the last playoff game they hosted at Mile High was the Patriots, 2016. Wow, so 10 years. 10 years, bro.
Starting point is 00:01:47 These people are ready. These crazy Denver fans are ready. Really sneaky, too. I mean, I've seen it a little bit, but not getting talked about enough rematch of last year's wild card rounds. That really is not getting talked about at all. I know it was at high mark. I know different teams, but like... Yeah, different teams.
Starting point is 00:02:00 There's got to be revenge on your mind a little bit. But Josh Allen still took Bowen Xx. on the woodshed and it needs to be talking about it. Absolutely smacked them. I'm throwing that out there. But let's jump into this. Give me your spread over in any player props you like in this game.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Spread. Again, I'm really contradicting how I open this thing. I think I got to lay Denver in the point in half. I just think if it's a mucky game and it's gross and it's mucky in that Denver defense, I think they cover and I think they win.
Starting point is 00:02:32 I don't know if it's going to be pretty but my gut says Denver one and a half. I am kind of going to hammer this. I think Denver advances, bro. I'll tell you why I love that pick because we agreed on every single game in the wild card round and it's finally time we disagree on something.
Starting point is 00:02:47 I'm taking Buffalo. I'll take Buffalo straight out money line. Give me Josh Allen. I doubted him last week. I'm done doubting him. I don't love Bo Nix. But give me your argument behind this because I do think it's interesting
Starting point is 00:02:59 to hear the other side. I do see a world niche, this sneaky, little guy inside me says, even if you and I were lined up out there at receiver for the bills, it'd be okay. Josh Allen would find a way. That's basically the Keon Coleman is. Yeah, man, I look cookies. That's basically what it's come to. Like, it is brutal, brother. I just think Sean Payton and Bo Nix got some weird lightning in a bottle this year. I know Sutton. I know we got that terrible rush defense. I think they're going to find a way to pound the ball a little
Starting point is 00:03:31 bit, control that clock, and then it's going to be the defense just like, I know the Jags defense was good, but I think Denver's defense rested at home mile high. Josh Allen, I think is more banged up than people are letting on. Yeah. He'll be Superman. He'll be torn-auled up to the gills. He'll be doing it, but I just think that Denver defense will be too much forcing some timely turnovers. I think the magic runs out for the bills. I think they're running on nothing but luck and fucking gritting balls right now. I think I'm in that weird camp where I'm not as bothered about Josh Allen's injury because he's like kind of hitting that Mahomes status where every time he's walking off the field he's limping. Yes. And I think it might be like a getting desensitized
Starting point is 00:04:12 to violence and video games thing where I see Josh Allen limp and I just don't care anymore. Yeah, that's whatever. I will agree with you though. I'm all over RJ Harvey this week. I think that he is a fantastic, fantastic play. That Bill's defense, like I said it last week. I think Travis was going to be able to run all over him. He did it on the ground and in the air. And R.J. Harvey is, I'm going to say, I think, a lot more talented than Travis Etyn at this point. I was going to say, I know he didn't have the household name recognition, but. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:40 And, you know, he's only got about 500-some Uralar's rushing this year. But I, I'm with you. He's got a little more juice in him. And one more pick I had, and I see on our doc that you said the same thing. Khalil Shakir 6 plus catches. Oh, my God. Dude, I knew it was a lot last week. And it seemed like it was just Kalilio Shikers Schuars.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Fourcent to him, but 12 receptions. goodness. Man, Melo brought that up on the show yesterday and I almost lost my mind. Mello. That is absolutely bananas, 12 catches and you've got to think that, like, like you said, it could be us lined up out there. Kalil Shakir is the one guy with like a semblance of talent and they're going to find a way to get the ball in his hands as much as possible. Agreed. I think in the one pick where we were not exactly on the same page here, I do like Brandon Cook's over 30 yards. It took him a little bit to get worked into that offense a little bit, but last week it's another.
Starting point is 00:05:29 It just takes one kind of situation. Yeah. He's a big play guy. I know Denver's not a defense that gives up to big play. Like they're growing on trees over here or anything. But 58 yards last week, kind of a quiet 58, but I think 30 will be pretty attainable for the archer, old Brandon Cooks. And again, it's just a matter of who's he going to throw the ball to? I was what I said, you almost kind of think if the bills are going to be in this game at all,
Starting point is 00:05:53 it's going to have to go through Brandon Cooks at one point. A little bit, you know what I mean? I talked some shit about Brandon Cooks last week. He caught astray when I was saying, who are they going to hit Brandon Cooks? Right. Who did they hit Brandon Cooks? Brandon Cooks, yes.
Starting point is 00:06:06 You got me to eat my words a little bit. Do you have any parlayers for this one when you're staying away? I'm staying away. I'm not, for some reason, Mitch, I'm not feeling the parlays this week. I'm going to try to hit singles and work that bank roll up, going to Wild Carter, excuse me, championship weekend after this. I am also curious. I'm kind of backtracking here.
Starting point is 00:06:25 how will this Buffalo team do on the ground? Because last week was rough. I'm out. I'm out on anything. Buffalo rush. I know it's their strength. I know their team likes to pound it. But it's also Denver number two rushed events in the league.
Starting point is 00:06:40 We talked about James Cook a little bit yesterday as like, you know, if he wants sprinkling in DFS and play him in a tournament in the odd case that he like explodes. But when you look at him from a betting perspective, like I'm completely staying away. These lines are not friendly. He's bet he's such a talented running. back that they have to set the lines where they are. But I'm personally, I'm staying away from James Cook this week. It's just not worth the risk. I think there's better options for guys if you want to bet on them. I think you can literally look on the other side of the ball and see RJ Harvey.
Starting point is 00:07:08 And like, RJ Harvey has a much more inviting matchup and a guy that I'd much rather bet on. And that'll transition me into my parlay for the week. Give me the Khalil Shakir 6 plus catches and give me RJ Harvey to find the end zone. I like it. I like this. All right, that's a parlay, I could maybe break my no parlays this week rule. I'm with you, though. I wasn't feeling any of the three, four-leggers. I was like, if you just kind of want to do these like correlation plays, bills are trailing because RJ Harvey's having a good game. I think that's where my head's at with these, because I think there's a lot of good defenses in this divisional round. I know. It really is.
Starting point is 00:07:44 And defense travels. It's getting cold. It's getting to be, it's getting to be a gritty football weather. So I'm leaning defense a little bit. And in that one more, I'm going to sneak one more in here, Mitch. So I kind of like a little bit of a Josh Allen anytime interception at plus 112. I don't hate that at all, especially if you're saying Denver goes up and Josh Allen, I mean, we've seen him play Superman so many times. But like, when you're playing that, like, I don't want to call it reckless. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:12 But kind of erratic. Like, the mistakes will come eventually. Agreed. And I do think, and I don't mean this disparagingly, he's going to have to do it all of himself. He's going to have to force. and trying to make things happen and play a little bit of Hero Bowl whether you like it or not.
Starting point is 00:08:27 So I think this is a defense that can be opportunistic and get one there. I know they don't force a ton of turnovers but I could see something happening there. Well, like you said, defense travels and so do we.
Starting point is 00:08:40 As we move on to Seattle, that's for a transition. That was a great segue. The San Francisco 49ers, 12 and 5 taking on their division rivals, the Seattle Seahawks at 14. The rubber match. The rubber match.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Seattle Seahawks favored at minus seven and a half and the total sitting at 45 and a half. Give me your thoughts on this one. Ah, that seven and a half number just feels so big, doesn't it? Doesn't that feel big, Mitch? I mentioned this last week. I love my key numbers and Vegas. They sat it right there on seven and a half. They sure did.
Starting point is 00:09:12 They sure rejected. I mean, my goodness, they knew what they were doing. Let's go back because this is the rubber match. We had a bit of a book-in matchup this year. Week one. Yes. San Francisco took it 17-13. Week 18, Seattle took it 13-3.
Starting point is 00:09:27 So you kind of meet in the middle there with the scores, and seven-and-a-half does feel right. I like Seattle getting away in this one. I think Sam Darnal gets the monkey off his back. I think he conquers those demons. I think he doesn't see a ghost for miles. But I still think the Niners cover this, don't you? I had a very similar argument.
Starting point is 00:09:46 I have loved San Francisco all year. I've been saying they're underrated. I'm saying everyone's doubting them. I took them last week. I took them week 18 against Seattle. That one didn't work out. I can't convince myself of a win here. However, I'm eating up San Francisco plus seven and a half.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Me too. I really am. I just think that's too much. It's the playoffs. It's Kyle Shanahan. Kyle Shanahan in the postseason is not going to let this team get boat race. That's just not happening. No, it's not going to happen.
Starting point is 00:10:18 It just didn't happen. And I know the numbers, he and Mike McDonald, like, he's two and three against McDonald with all time as a play caller. You know, that's date back to the Ravens days. I only averaging like 18 points a game or whatever it is, which don't speak super favorably. But I think Kyle Shanahan is coaching his butt off right now. He and Robert Salomon, they could take over a small country right now. They're bowling so hard. These guys can do anything.
Starting point is 00:10:43 I got so much faith in these two. I feel about them the exact opposite. I feel about the Eagles, which is so funny how they met up. last week is just like what they're doing with so little on that defense versus what Nick Siriani and Kevin Petulah were doing with so much on that offense, it's infuriating. As a football fan, like seeing not much talent get wasted. And then you just watch Chef's Kiss masterclass by Sala in this defense right now. Oh, oh, we have no linebackers, literally no linebackers.
Starting point is 00:11:11 That's all right. We'll stop Sequin on those guys. Who cares? Who cares? Hold Seekwana 4.1 yards of carry. Unbelievable. I'll never be able to hear Kevin Piltoole's name again. without thinking of that little kid. Did you see that little kid?
Starting point is 00:11:22 He's like, You did me flipping burgers. Oh, you got to watch it. I'll send it to you after this. It's ruined him for me. I mean, actually made him for me, I should say. But no, that's a good point. I'm with you on this when I think the Niners,
Starting point is 00:11:36 I think the Niners can cover that number. That's too much. This is also one of those numbers. I'm getting out way ahead of us here. If you're going to do a little bit of a cross-game teaser, you tease that number up even more, get a little more insurance on your butt. With what game?
Starting point is 00:11:49 if you're going to tease it. If you're going to tease it, I would tease L.A. plus, tease them plus up to like four and a half, I guess, because if you're doing a seven point teaser, you take L.A. Rams minus three and a half. You get them,
Starting point is 00:12:01 you give them a little bit of, you make them the underdog there. Then you tease this one way up. I don't know. I'm just talking crazy. You're out of my butt. I like it. We'll get into that game in a minute, though.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Sorry, sorry. No, you're good. I led you there. Give me your player props here for this game. I'm seeing yours and I'm loving it as well. This is a, this is a go against the numbers, ride the guy, pause, type of pick.
Starting point is 00:12:24 The Seattle defense has not led up a 100-yard rusher since week 8 of 2014. Wow. That was James Cook way back when. Way back when? Oh my God. So that does not speak favorably. They have held Christian in check this year,
Starting point is 00:12:40 both times, well under 100 yards. But I do think this number is a little bit low. I think we can take advantage of it. It's Christian McCaffrey over 54 rushing yards. I think he's going to have to get it down on the ground. I think Kyle's going to have to ride him a little bit. 54 seems trapish, but it seems doable. Take that over.
Starting point is 00:12:59 I think it's a big time volume play. I think you're hoping that they carry it a lot with Christian McCaffrey. I think it's a good line, but I can see it. It feels wrong ever taking an under with CNC. It does. It really does. And I know with there's a lot of, opportunities for maybe catching passes out of the backfield and getting his yards through the air. But I do think they're going to have to pound it a little bit and play
Starting point is 00:13:24 possession ball a little bit. 100%. Let's go over 54. Don't love it, but I like it. I think you got to bet on CMC. I'm going to go to the other side of the ball. I keep giving any time touchdowns. I don't know what's wrong with me. I like anytime. ATT, baby. I think it's because all of the lines I'm loving for, you know, receiving rushing are some of these big name guys. And I like getting a little deeper in my bag. I talked about him yesterday. I love A.J. Barner here. AJ Barner has been a red zone machine for the Seahawks. Insane, brother. Insane. Watch last week, Dallas Goddard did whatever he wanted in the red zone. He was the only guy on that team that you could have any confidence in. So I love A.J. Barner here. I like J.S.N.
Starting point is 00:14:05 too. I like J.S.N.'s yards. I think he's going to, he's a machine. So if you want to go JSN, I love that pick too. I just wanted to get a little trickier with it and then I have no parleyes for this one. I don't know about you. Um, nah, once again, I'm, I'm staying away from the parleyes this week. Let's play smart. Let's hit singles. Let's hit doubles. I'm not trying to be a hero here. I'll also say I am taking the under in this one, under 45 and a half. I don't hate that if you, especially if you look at the last two matchups from the season. I mean, well, well, well under. Yeah, I mean, can't you see just like, uh, 24-17 win for the Seahawks here? Oh my God, that feels that feels so ripe. And it just hits the under, but everyone you're thinking kind of gets involved. It just 45 and a half felt a little high for me. It does.
Starting point is 00:14:58 And I don't even think I was, I was when we were looking through this game, I'm thinking, all right, let's check the weather. Let's see how that impact. Weather be damned, it's going under. And I mean, it's going to be clear anyways this weekend in Seattle. But yeah, all day under. I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:15:12 All right. We will move on to Sunday and head over to Foxborough, where the 143 New England Patriots are hosting the 12 and 5 Houston Texans. I'm going to start with my notes here. As a Patriots fan, I'm fired up. But as a fan of points, I'm not as fired up as I'd like to be. So New England opened at minus three. The total is 40 and a half, which is so low.
Starting point is 00:15:39 And I am slamming that under. I know. I'm with you. Imagine also and I still like it. How many fumbles we could get if we had like week two Ramandre Stevenson
Starting point is 00:15:49 versus wild card round C.J. Stroud. Oh my God. They literally just be playing catch. The case of fumbleitis would be absolutely pandemic levels, bro. It would be running rampant
Starting point is 00:15:59 in New England. Give me your thoughts on this one. Just buttery popcorn all over that ball, baby. Oh my God. I know you shouldn't eat that popcorn. I think the bats are rolling. I think,
Starting point is 00:16:10 speaking of rolling, I know the Texans have won 10 in a row. Hottest team in the league is going by win streaks. Crazy. Finding ways to win. I just think it was a bit of an abomination of football that you can play that sloppy of an offensive game and still blow out a playoff team.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Yeah. Like we saw it last week in Pittsburgh. I mean, my God. See, like, all year my concern has been that offense. And that didn't do anything to counteract that or make any more of a believer in the Texas offense. Did not alleviate any of the anxiety around that offense? In fact, I would say it exacerbated it a lot.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Exacerated it. When you have Christian Kirk being the main guy going for 114 or whatever, or 144 yards, like, I have like, and now you don't even have Nico Collins. Like, I have alarm bells going everywhere about the Houston offense. Me too. I mean, I know Woody Marks and those guys have been shoulder in the load this year, but I just don't.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I'm at red alert concern levels for that offense, which makes me feel good after the Patriots coming off their best defense performance of the year. holding the team to three points. I know it was a team with the worst offensive line. I know it was banged up left and right. We can throw out every excuse we want
Starting point is 00:17:18 for Justin Herbert and the Charger. But I feel confident about the Pats here. I feel confident about this minus three. I think we're laying the Pats. And I know we're homers. I know we're homers. Yeah. I think we're both.
Starting point is 00:17:29 I think I would still be taking, I'd like to say bias aside, I would still be taking New England minus three here. Again, I'm always going to say this. I like my prime numbers here. I would probably move it to minus two and a half, but that total is also when I'm feeling pretty confident, and I don't think we're going over 41 points.
Starting point is 00:17:48 No, I just, I don't either. And I do like, I do like in a weird way, speaking of fumbles, Drake me getting a lot of that early playoff yips, if you will, out of the way last week. I think we tightened it up this week. That's got to be the hope. I think the hope's got to be like, okay, first playoff game, you're going to have some nerves,
Starting point is 00:18:06 you're under the lights for the first time, playing against a really good defense. LA and the thing that worries me is this Houston defense is a step above that. Me too. But I'd like to believe that was really, really good practice right there for what's going to be a dog fight, I think. Amen. You make some mistakes, but you don't let them beat you.
Starting point is 00:18:24 You get out of there with a win and you move on, survive in advance, baby. 100%. Give me player props you like for this one. Player props, I like, I kind of like a lot of these. My eyes get a little bit, my stomach get a little bigger than my eyes or whatever the dang thing is, Mitch, when it comes to Patriots props, just because I feel. I know all these guys so well, and I watch so much Patriots football, but I really like Steph Diggs over five receptions.
Starting point is 00:18:48 I know last week he was held in check a bit, but this is a revenge game. I'm having visions, Mitch. I'm having visions of week five. Steph Diggs versus old team in Buffalo. They're coming back to me. This is such a sneaky revenge game. I feel like I just have to double take because I was like,
Starting point is 00:19:03 wait, we're not playing Buffalo. I'm having, but you know Stead Diggs, man. That was the last squad he played for. I know it didn't end as side i.e. as it did in Buffalo. But I still think he wants to go out and show these guys. These guys he's got some familiarity with. Hey, I'm still me. I'm still the man, dog.
Starting point is 00:19:21 I'm the number one here. I'm the alpha dog. I'm a guy going to tell him to play violent. I think he goes over that number. Last week, held in check, of course. But I think Drake's looking to him. And they really had that nice connection late in the year. Steph running those option routes,
Starting point is 00:19:36 sitting down in the zone, just finding ways to get open, playing veteran wide receiver football. Also, don't hate that 50 plus yards for Steph. I'm really loving digs in these revenge game situations. And then Mitch, can I pat myself on the back here once, twice? We're going back to the Ramandre well. Let's go over 21 receiving yards.
Starting point is 00:19:55 We saw what happened last week. Three catches, 75 yards. It was so funny. We're going back to the well. I texted you right when it happened. It was just like, what are we? Like five minutes into the first quarter and catches a 30-yard pass? I'm like, damn, reputation, play one, down.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Yes, I love that pick. This week I think you got this pass rush, you got the Will Anderson's in the world, the Daniel Hunter's coming after him. We don't have to be checked down Charlie a little bit. I know Drake doesn't like being checked down Charlie but be checked down Charlie this week. I think so too.
Starting point is 00:20:27 I'm going to go back to my reputation play. Go back. I'm going to go back to my reputation play. I regret it so much. We're going to address this later. I gave a plus 390 touchdown pick last week. And I was wavering so. hard on if I should just give his yards.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Why don't I just give Jaden Higgins yards? But I said first episode of the new podcast, it's come out with a bang. Go bigger, go home, babe. And C.J. Stroud fumbles the goddamn ball as he's slinging it out to Jaden Higgins, who's wide open streaking towards the end zone. I'm going back to Jaden Higgins, not for a touchdown. I'm not doing that again. But give me his over on receiving yards, 35 and a half.
Starting point is 00:21:05 I don't think you're going to have Nico Collins. I don't think Christian Kirk's having another legacy game. Jaden Higgins is going to have to get involved C.J. Stroud is building that rapport with him. Give me Higgins over 35 and a half and I'll have another Texans player in my reputation plays later. I like this. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:21:22 A little foreshadowing. All right, we get to move on to L.A., you think? Let's move on to L.A. Or should I say move on to Chicago? Yes, we're on to Chicago, as they say. We are headed to Soldier Field where the 11 and 6 Chicago Bears are hosting the 12 and 5 Los Angeles
Starting point is 00:21:40 Rams. L.A. opened at minus 3 and a half with a total of 50 and a half. Jack, give me your thoughts on this one. Over, baby, over, over, points, points, points, points. This is where I'm allowing myself to have fun. I feel like I've just been wet bread, wet paper towel all week. I'm taking unders left and right. Johnny Under. I'm just, I'm ridiculous. This one, I'm going to let myself have fun. I'm going to let my hair down. How about we taking over for Sunday night football? I like that. I like that a lot. And I know we can't just base it off one week, Mitch. But last week, Panthers, Rams, 34, 31. Last week, Bears, Packers, 31, 27.
Starting point is 00:22:20 Those are both cruiser overs, man. Look at all those points. The Rams are going to get theirs. The Rams are going to get theirs. And then it's a bet on how confident are you that Caleb Williams is going to put up 21 to 24 points. I'm hitting it. I think he's going to.
Starting point is 00:22:40 I think so too. And I mean, heck, he might do it all in the third quarter or the fourth quarter like last game. One hundred percent. Maybe not wait all to the fourth. Maybe don't wait all to the fourth. Spread it out a little bit. Let us not be on the ledge until the fourth quarter looking to jump.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Oh, I'm coming back in. I'm coming back in. I think all Chicago would appreciate if the ice man started getting a little chilled in like the second quarter even. Agreed. Agreed. Ice man, baby. I think, yeah, I'm leaning over heavy.
Starting point is 00:23:10 I was a little bit surprised what that Carolina Panthers offense was able to do against the L.A. Rames defense. I know it's down in Carolina and cross-country, all that, but like, I was kind of like, whoa. Do you like any Chicago receivers here? I don't have any written down in my notes. I mean, I'm like, if you want to take a shot on Luther Burden after watching what Jalen Coker did last week,
Starting point is 00:23:34 I don't hate it. I'm a well-moan Luther guy. Love Luther. But not, nothing here that like I'm like dying to rush to the window to do to put it on. Also like Colson Loveland, I think he showed us some good stuff last week. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:23:51 What a game. That guy's bawling. But don't love it again. I don't know why. But just didn't like, didn't jump out of me necessarily. But I don't hate it if you're, if you're IMOs and Lehman that way.
Starting point is 00:24:03 For sure. I think I'm mainly staying away from Chicago guys. We have, I mean, let's just address, we have all the same player props for this one. I swear to God, we didn't work on these together. We didn't work on these together. Teacher, we were not hanging out at each other's house. Just, yeah, copy my homework, but just change a few things.
Starting point is 00:24:24 We both love Puka to score a touchdown. We both love Puka over receptions. Yep, we saw him get that. I like him. I like that anytime touchdown. We saw him get it out of the way early last week in Charlotte. I kind of see it happening in the game this week. And he even dropped one last week that was right in the breadbasket.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Oh, my God. I texted you. I thought pigs were flying in hell was freezing over Mitch. Who could dropping an easy touchdown? Doesn't happen. And I think he's going to break out the shiasty this week. He's going to break up. It's getting chilly and he's going to Chicago.
Starting point is 00:24:54 I love that call, too. Can I bet that? We should. Maybe we'll go to couch here or whatever for that thing. Yeah, I'm sure they do. And then the other one you have here, I love this. Devante Adams anytime touchdown too. I agree.
Starting point is 00:25:06 I got burnt on this from last week. Didn't talk about it on the show, but it was my little sneaky, sneaky bet right before they kick off, you know, two minutes left to get it in. I think that was a popular bet last week because he's back. He's the red zone target.
Starting point is 00:25:20 He's going to come out with a vengeance. It's Carolina, blah, blah, blah. Didn't see it. That Carolina defense was ready for it. Didn't really have that many, didn't really have that many targets, I don't think, even in the red zone. I'll have to go back and watch the tape.
Starting point is 00:25:31 No, not the red zone. He was doing most of his work between the 20s, which I was pretty surprised by. Me too, me too. But I think this week we get him back into form. He's working back into rhythm a little bit. That Chicago defense is not
Starting point is 00:25:44 anything compared to the Panthers' defense even. I think he finds the end zone. What do you think, Mitch? I'm with this pick. I gave my pick yesterday actually on the fantasy show. Three total touchdowns between Puka and Devonka was my bold prediction for the game. I like that.
Starting point is 00:26:01 I want to give one more prop right here. I was all over this guy last week and you got to be water in these situations and just take a look at the defense he's going up against. I like DeAndre Swift under 55 and a half yards.
Starting point is 00:26:16 I think this Rams run defense is like really, really good. And I think Ben Johnson is going to try to get creative and find as many ways to get Swift the ball. But I just don't think it's going to be on the ground as much as a lot of people are thinking. And I also mentioned this,
Starting point is 00:26:33 but Kyle Munangai's still there. He's still getting carries. And so you're going to need Swift to have like a pre-efficient game here if you want him to get over 55 and a half. And I'm going to take the chance that he doesn't. I'm with you there. The pride of Rutgers, Kyle Munangay is going to be stealing a little bit of those yards. He runs hard.
Starting point is 00:26:48 And you look at last week, I mean, they faced a great two-headed backfield. Chuba and Rico held him in check big time under a hundred yards. 46 yards for Chuba on 13 carries. I know he found the end zone twice, but three and a half yards of carry. And then Rico did. and get that many touches, five for nine. Yeah, they really held them in check, and I think they knew it again this week.
Starting point is 00:27:09 And you touched on this a little bit when you're talking about your teaser, but give me your spread play on this one. On this bad boy, I know the weather's going to be a little bit ugly. I know it's on the road. I know both of these teams escaped close, close, crazy finishes last week.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Yeah. But I'm leaning L.A. I just think L.A. is going to get hot. I think they're not going to make nearly as many uncharacteristic mistakes as they did last week. That's about the worst I've seen the L.A. Rams played in a long time. Especially the defense. I mean, just stuff that you're like, whoa, this is, who are these guys?
Starting point is 00:27:42 This is in the Sean McVeigh coach team in the playoffs. I don't think that's going to happen again this week. Give me L.A. minus the three and a half. Another stat that has been in my craw, Mitch, and it has been burning like a little worm through my brain. The Bears' defense, I don't know that they're going to get pressure on. Matthew Stafford. If you don't have any pressure on Stafford and you let the gunslinger sit back there and just pick you apart, it's going to be bad. The Rams, first and foremost, lead the league
Starting point is 00:28:13 and few as sacks allowed per pass. That alone is impressive. And then in five of the Bears' last nine games, they've registered either one or zero sacks. Wow. Not great. Not great at all. That's a great It's sad. It has been, any time I lean toward the ice man in the bears and I want them to win, it's good for football when Chicago's good. I just keep going back to that stat. And it scares me way too much to bet against Matthew Stafford knowing that. So give me Rams minus three and a half. I love that you brought that stat to the table. It's great confirmation bias because I'm running with the same thing. I know a lot of people are scared off by the hand injury. I think it's very similar to the Josh Allen situation where I think I'm just desensitized. I'm like, oh, Matthew Stafford's hurt again.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Can't wait to go and see him throw four touchdowns in 285 yards. Honestly, bro. Like, if I get burned betting with Sean McVeigh and Matthew Stafford, I will be able to sleep at night. If I get burned betting against them with the Iceman who had scored, it was down 21, 3 a half last week, I'm going to go to bed feeling like a dummy. 100%.
Starting point is 00:29:19 I don't think lightning strikes twice in the same spot here. I don't think so. get down like that, that's for sure. All right, well, that has been every game on the board. Before we get out of here, we are going to take a look at last week's reputation plays and give our NFL divisional round reputation
Starting point is 00:29:35 plays of the week. Do I go two for two repis? I went two for two on repis. Jack went two for two last week. I forgot about my Steelers play. I forgot about my Steelers play. Oh, my God. Close call on Steelers under 17.5 team total.
Starting point is 00:29:55 It got real close there. Sorry, D.K. Honestly, you smoked both of these picks and Ramandre over 15 yards. I went over one. These feel like layups. Wait, over one. Oh, you have, Ty Johnson was ruled out before the game, which I'm aggravated about.
Starting point is 00:30:11 I probably would not have gone such a bold play with Jaden Higgins. How'd I known that I wasn't going to have Ty Johnson. So I'm 0 for one. Jack's 2 and O. That's going to be tough for me to come back from. I'm now two picks behind. but give me your first play. Is this bad if I repeat one that I just said in the episode already, Mitch?
Starting point is 00:30:30 No, go for it. I'm going back to the Ramandre well. I am so confident. I was confident last week. I am maybe twice as confident this week. I can just see it. It's 21 this week. It was 15 last week.
Starting point is 00:30:42 I am so, so confident. Only three receptions last week, 75 yards. I mean, there was so much open field in that first one. Yeah. Yards after catch was insane. I just think this week will be I don't think it be 75 yards but I just see it
Starting point is 00:30:57 I just see it so clearly Mitch I like that pick I'm no shot I'm betting against you I actually bet it last week I actually bet both of yours which was awesome because I made money and then I had a separate one where I parlayed
Starting point is 00:31:11 both of mine didn't make money but I think I ended up netting out I think real bros play each other's reputation place yeah absolutely let me give my next pick here laid on me Give me your rep.
Starting point is 00:31:24 I'm going to go on the other side of the ball, and I'm going to say Woody Marks under, see, I'm so much fun this week, under 16 to half carries. I don't think Houston's going to see a ton of success running the ball against New England. C.J. Stroud is going to have to figure things out in the air. Like, he's just going to have to.
Starting point is 00:31:43 They're not going to be able to run on this team. We saw it last week. Camani Vidal couldn't get anything going against New England. And I think with or without Nico Collins, like they're going to have to have a game plan where C.J. Stroud's dropping back more than they want him to. I'm with you. I'm with you. That's a great one. The way this loses is if Houston gets out to a really fast lead because this defense is showing up and forcing a turnover and disrupting Drake May. I don't see the game script going that way. I think that New England's at the very least in it the whole way through.
Starting point is 00:32:13 So for me, that feels like a smash play. And like you're going to seed some carries to Nick Chubb to like. 100%. I think he falls just under that 16.5 mark. But give me your second reputation play of the week. That's a great pick, Mitch. I love that.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I think my second reputation pick, I'm going to go back to the boring well. One I already said, love Puka. God, I love him. I love him with the shy steon. But I really think Devonte Adams is going to find the end zone this week.
Starting point is 00:32:40 I think anytime touchdown Devonte, it just feels written. It feels written. I love it. You owe me. You got to do it anytime touchdown this week because I got burned last week. Oh, I'm with you, brother.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Except what pisses me off because I think yours is going to hit. I just, I know, I feel like I'm going, I'm going too vanilla down the middle with these repis, but like, I just love them. I love both these picks. Don't, don't apologize for a win. Don't apologize for a win.
Starting point is 00:33:02 I know, I will go on a little bit of a limb, but I don't know. I love it. Let me go with my last one. I will be taking an over. And I'm going to go to a game where I actually have the opposing team winning. I have Buffalo winning this game, but I think Bo Nix hits over 22 and a half rushing yards.
Starting point is 00:33:18 He had a lot of, Dude, sneaky. I think it's a sneaky one. I think this line is not getting talked about enough. 43 yards in last year's wild card matchup on the ground. I think Bo Nix is going to have to take the offense into his own hands in this one. It's a similar situation to Buffalo where I'm not feeling all that confident in any of their receivers. 22 and a half feels way too low to me.
Starting point is 00:33:39 He's already been gearing up at the end of the year. He's had 49 yards and 42 respectively in his past two games. And I think if they're going to compete in this game and they're going to win, like Bo Nix is going to try to take it himself. Agreed. And I mean, Bo Nix has, he's got like 350-something rushing yard this year, three touchdowns running with his legs. Like, Bo's sneaky got a little bit of running in them this year. I really like that, play, Mitch.
Starting point is 00:34:02 I think so, too. All right, well, that is it for our reputation plays of the week. Let's pray to God, I don't go 0 and 2 and Jack goes 2 and O again, or it's toast for me. I think, let's go 4 and O, baby. Let's go 4 and O baby. I'm going to elongate us here. You know what I was going to, I won it bad, Mitch. Was a C.J. Stroud anytime interception?
Starting point is 00:34:21 Yeah. It's not on the board yet. Really? I couldn't find a number on it yet. I mean, I guess it'll be up there, hopefully come weekend, but I didn't see it on the board here as we record here midweek. Well, keep your eyes peeled for a C.J. Stroud interception. That will be a bonus reputation play. How about we both own that one?
Starting point is 00:34:36 Because I'm in hard, too. We both own C.J. Shoud anytime interception. We got joint custody here. Let's go. Thank you, everyone, for watching. We will be back next Friday, reacting to these games and talking. about the conference championship games. If you enjoyed the video,
