All right, welcome into the lineup football show.
I'm Mitch Anderson.
I'm Jack McCarthy.
And we are finally here for Super Bowl best bets.
Jack and I are both out in San Francisco this week.
We actually were at Media Day on Monday.
We're on the ground, baby.
Boots on the ground.
We'll drop the clips on the ground.
We'll drop the clips right out for anybody wants to watch.
Yo, Drake.
Drake, can I get you?
What's up, man?
Can I get your Mount Rushmore of athletes out of Davidson, North Carolina?
There are athletes out of Davidson, North Carolina.
Let's go, baby.
How about that?
to North Carolina. What about that's a question right there.
Yo, Jackson, you've played in some sick games in your career. What's your favorite so far in your
career? Going back to college rules bowl, of course.
Hell yeah.
This last game was something special, you know, as we continue to go down this road.
Before we get into this, give me your vibes from Media Night. You had a chance to interview
some Pats guys, some Seahawks guys. What were your vibes?
It was an inside media, man.
Well, first of all, you were there producing me, man, and directing the whole show and
keeping my head on straight and keeping my confidence high.
I got to say, it was overwhelming.
It was kind of everything I thought it would be.
It was like a very high stimulating, high stress, high pressure environment.
These people are like, I mean, this is their job.
Like, they need these scoops.
Yeah.
They're like trying to go viral.
They're trying to be the question that makes it on the ESPN Sports Center at the night.
They're trying to do the Tom Brady.
Who's your hero?
My dad.
They're trying to get like that clip that's going to live for everyone.
Like, we're just out there, Wylan, trying to take in the sights and sound.
So it was fun.
I like being sort of a, you know what I mean, sort of like a little bit of a cosplayer in that environment.
If I were actually doing that, that was actually my job, and I'm wearing a blazer, and I have a guy with a tripod and I'm like, I don't think that was for me.
We're not cut out for that.
That ain't our kind of media.
That's not my life.
No.
But getting to see Guillermo and all these like, all these sort of media day staples was pretty cool.
And Scott Hanson.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
You're king.
You're king.
How was that?
My goat.
It was unbelievable.
Scott Hansen's as advertised.
Let's get into our Super Bowl
60 best bets.
60.
All right, Jack.
60's crazy to say out loud.
60 is crazy to say out loud.
It really is.
LX, baby.
LX.
Sounds like Alexis.
Before we start giving our real picks,
we'll just set the stage here.
Patriots plus four and a half,
Seahawks minus four and a half.
I'll show some respect to Seattle.
You know, we're in New England podcast.
That's right, right.
Total 45 and a half.
Give me just your thoughts.
We've talked about it a little bit with Media Day,
but now that we've got some numbers to talk about,
how do you feel?
I feel pretty good.
I had some sources on the ground today at Patriots Practice,
unnamed sources,
who said we looked prime, ready to roll no balls on the ground,
moving and grooving the shoulder, look good, everything.
Don't want to jinx it.
Don't want to, like, get too big of a head.
get too high and mighty and get overly confident,
but I feel really good that four and a half number feels a little high,
felt a little high from the jump, still feels high.
I was thinking more of a two and a half three situation,
three and a half at most,
but four and a half to me just seems,
I was a little bit like, whoa.
I mean, when you see a, when you see that number there,
I was a little bit alarmed.
So I think that's a little much.
I know I'm a homer.
I speak for both of us there.
So I will be playing that plus four and a half,
no matter what.
I have already got to bed in.
I'll talk more about that one later, Mitch.
But the over-under number,
what's at 45 and a half?
Correct, Mitch?
Hadn't moved much.
Yeah, it's weird.
Neither of these have moved much.
I know we still have...
I've thought the same thing.
I've been very interested in that, too.
We're still like 72 hours out,
so I know there can be some late line moving,
but I was a little surprised.
Yeah, we're recording this late Wednesday night.
Right, right, to give the people a little insight here.
But I think I am a little nervous about
the total. I always look at totals from an over-better perspective. You know, life's too short to bet
the under type vibe. But I think, you know, you look at the Patriot 16 to 3 in that wildcard round,
2816. Getting close in that, uh, in the divisional round. And then you go against you
get to the championship of course, which, which is a bit of an anomaly. We had Snow game. We had Jared
Stidham. We had crazy blizzards 10 to 7. So only one of those games came anywhere remotely close.
on the Patriot side
than you had last week.
And then you had pretty much a blowout
against San Francisco
that did get over that number
and then you had the back and forth shootout
which did as well with Seattle.
So I'm leaning toward the over
but I'm not in love with it straight up.
How are you feeling, Mitchie?
I am in on the over.
I talked about this a little bit
on, you know, earlier this week's show.
I think that the Patriots,
if they're going to win this game,
are going to have to get there.
I think everyone and their mother is on the under
and I completely get it.
You just list it off those game logs
and if you look at this,
it's like, if New England's going to win this game,
they're going to have to muck it up
and they're going to have to keep this tight
and just outcoach them.
But to me, I don't think that's the way you beat Seattle here.
I don't think that you can just keep them down
and keep them under 20 points.
I think Seattle is going to get to 20.
I think Seattle's probably going to get three touchdowns in this game.
And I think Josh McDaniels has been here before, man.
I think Josh McDaniels is going to have a game plan where they're going to be firing
and we're going to see a very, very different New England offense than we've seen throughout the playoffs.
Man, I just, I really, really like this over because I think everyone is on the under.
And I think that they're underestimating the fact that New England didn't feel that they needed to hit the gas on offense against these past few opponents.
That's a great point, Mitch.
I'm loving four and a half.
I think in a Super Bowl,
two and a half feels right,
three and a half starts to feel disrespectful,
and four and a half starts feeling like,
what are we talking about?
Right?
I mean, I'm just like, wow.
Like, that's like a,
your eyes get as big as saucers
when you see that number,
at least as a Patriots fan.
Yeah, I was definitely surprised.
Yeah, it's like, wow,
holy smokes.
Yeah, and that's a great point, Mitch.
I don't know that it's can take a lot,
and I know our defense is top-notch,
and we've been disrespected,
and we're playing with that shipowner's shoulder.
We, the Patriots, of course.
But you got to go back to whatever was week 18.
That's that 49ers game, 17, 13.
That was the last time they got held under 20.
And, you know, that was the first time in weeks.
That had happened.
And it hadn't happened since.
I know they only played two playoff games.
But, yeah, I'm with you there.
I think it's going to have to outscore them a little bit.
And they're going to get theirs, so to speak.
100%.
It's going to make some plays.
but it's a team that's going to get theirs in some regards.
And I completely get the argument.
If you want to talk under in this game,
I completely get the argument.
New England's defense has been absolutely on fire,
especially in the postseason.
Seattle's defense has been on fire all year long.
I'll give Sam Darnold credit.
Like, Sam Darnold hasn't turned the ball over yet in the playoffs.
I know everyone wants to give him a lot of crap about what happened during the year.
But we are going to skip over the part where we give our player props
and our parleyes because we are going to jump right into our.
reputation plays of the week.
We're not here to give you the 50 prop plays we like.
We are here to give you three plays each that we are fired up about, that we are staking
our reputation on.
Before we do, though, can I give one crazy prop?
Lay it on me.
We got to talk about the Cooper Cup Instagram post of him throwing a pass at practice.
I'm so mad he did that because every Super Bowl, my favorite bet, is plus 175 over two
and a half players to attempt to pass.
I was just going to say, bro,
and you got Cooper Cup playing a bread come for us,
and you got Josh McDaniels on the other side,
who's notorious for when to open up the trick playbook
and open up that book, and he hadn't shown much.
He loves a little back,
he loves a little double pass action,
open up the playbook.
Fent Chisholm double pass?
Is this the Efton Shizm game?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Let's jump into the reputation plays, though.
this Ty Johnson pick is going to haunt me forever
because you are half a pick ahead of me
because I voided on that.
Oh man, I thought my show was in shambles, okay.
Wow.
Jack is 5 and 3.
I am 4, 3 and 1 because I put down Ty Johnson
and then he was a scratch right before the game.
We're two high character men.
We got three each year.
Let's go 3 and 0.
Let's go 6 in 0.
How we like that?
To be honest, if I lose because we both went 3 and 0,
I can live with that.
If I lose for any other reason, I'm going to be angry.
I don't blame you.
I would be too.
That's not a way we want to end this season.
Not how we want to end it.
Let's end it on a hot streak, Jack.
Let's have you end eight and three and me end seven, three, and one.
Let's go.
I like that.
Those are solid numbers.
Going into the off season ahead and ready to rock next season.
First play, we teased this earlier.
I mean, you might have teased it, actually.
I didn't want to get in there and jump in.
but my pick is
Sam Darnold
over
one interception
or half an interception
Sam Brown to throw a pick
I'm sorry Mitch
Are we in the same page chair?
You're coming off me with the Sam
Donald interception talk
I called him a top 10 quarterback this week
I know I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I do crazy
He's here for a reason
He's here for a reason
He's not he's not some fucking bum
He's come a long way since seeing those ghosts
But I will say
I know he's played clean football
He's playing clean football
These playoffs
But he's due
He's due
That means he's due
You get pressure up the middle
Samie doesn't like pressure up the middle
Barmore, Milton
pressure up the middle
You look at the last Super Bowl winners
The Eagles
Pressure up the middle
The Chiefs when they were getting
Pressure up the middle
Yeah, yeah Christiane
Yeah guys
Pressure up the middle baby
That's what it takes to win Super Bowls
That's what it takes to turn the guys over
I think he's gonna give you one
He'll give you one
And this is the roster to do it man
This is England Patriots
defense. I said all that. The zero interceptions of the playoffs, calling them a top 10 quarterback,
and I couldn't agree with you more. It just seems too easy. I know that's a down the middle
pick. No, 100%. If this Patriot team is going to win, they're going to have to get takeaways
and it starts with the quarterback position, whether it's a strip sack, whether it's an interception,
like you are going to have to get Sam Darnold, not only turning the ball over, which obviously
helps, but like, just get him uncomfortable. And, you know, we talked about this earlier this week,
but like don't let Sam Darnold stay on schedule from the beginning.
That is how he lose this game is if he's comfortable,
they fire on the first drive,
they fire on the second drive,
and then they've just got all the momentum,
make a big stop early,
force him to get uncomfortable,
and then whether it's early or them trying to make a play in the second half,
force a turnover.
Yeah, forcing something.
Amen, don't give him all day back there to pick you apart
and look for Jackson Smith and Jigba to get to the other side of the field
and these crossing routes and these long zone.
Like, don't let that happen.
Absolutely.
Get pressure in him and make him uncomfortable from the get-go.
My first one, I don't think this will come to as a surprise to anybody who listened to the episode earlier this week.
Give me Mack Hollins over 26 and a half yards.
Potentially the worst, stupidest line in all of Vegas this week.
Outrageous.
I would take this if it was over 39.5.
No shoes, no-shirt-all-service, baby.
No shoes all service.
I love that.
That's all we're getting from it.
Get in there, Mitchie.
I'm putting my rep on over 50 yards from Mac Hollins.
Oh, we're doubling that thing.
Oh, I love it.
For the sake of our game, I'm taking 26 and a half because I'm trying to win.
But I would take over 50.
I think if it hits W, you get a double win.
That's a double win right there, baby.
I'll credit it.
Okay, we'll count that.
We'll count that for my...
The Ty Johnson pick from week one will count as a win.
That's how we'll handle this.
Yes, that thing gets absolutely...
Matt Collins' double play.
Dude, I love that Mitch, every time...
For the people at home listening,
almost every day this week, Mitch has woken up in a cold sweat thinking about this bed.
A cold sweat.
A cold sweat.
Before I even say, Mitch, I did you sleep last night?
I get Mac Collins 26 and a half yards over.
I've been thinking about it.
I've been thinking about it.
I've been thinking about it.
I say, Mitch, I'm tailing about it.
God damn, that's telling you.
I love that pick, Mitchie.
Hell yeah.
Give you your next one.
My next one is another.
This is a tough one, Mitch.
I almost had three and a half of the people,
but I got
I think I'm going to cut one
and I'm going to go
I don't want to do it
but I'm going to do it
I'm going to move over
to the Seattle side
and I'm going to take Cooper Cup
at plus 34
receiving yards
get it at minus 111 right now
in Fandul
or draft kings pardon me
I just think
he's going to be that guy
you got to go to
I think we're going to put
a lot of emphasis on JSN
I think we're going to put
Of course, be a cup aware, but I think there's going to be a little runoff for Coupe.
And I think we're going to see him have a bit of a performance like he had last week in that championship game.
I think he's going to have some big first down plays.
I think he's one of those guys that's a savvy vet.
We talked about it last week a little bit.
A lot of catches that were very first down aware, if you will.
He knows right where those sticks are.
So I think it's going to be a guy that his catches are going to come in those kind of situations.
Those got-to-have-at moments, those third-mediate.
I think he's going to be big for him.
I think 31's not very much.
It's 31's the line.
That's where I'm getting it at right now, minus 111.
Dude, I don't know if you listen to Monday's episode,
but like you are speaking my language right now.
Wait, with you and no one's talking about Cooper Cup.
It's insane.
I mean, I know last week was four for 36 and Tutty,
but like, he's flying under the radar, isn't it weird?
100%.
I think this is a fantastic pick,
and I'm going to tell you why I think that,
he's not getting enough love.
The Rashid Shaheed situation is just, like,
getting blown so out of proportion from like a target share perspective.
Like, I think Rashid Shaheed is incredible,
but the way he's being used in this offense,
like,
he's not taking a ton of work away from Cooper Cup,
and Cooper Cup's been turning it on in the postseason.
I think 31 is, like, such a modest line to need from him.
You always wish it was right on that even number of 30?
I know. I love a good 30 piece, but no, I think 31 is very doable.
last week you saw, like we just mentioned,
four for 36, and that TD on
six targets. So, I mean,
Rashid had three targets, one catch, 51 yards.
Sure, it was a big sexy bomb, but like
you said, it's, I think that's getting
a little bit overblown in people's mind.
And a lot of people
aren't quite aware of, but when you receive
a punt on special teams, that does not
count as a reception, guys. That does not
count as a catch in those yards. Don't count
toward receiving yards. So
that's Rashid Saheed, baby. You'll make big plays on special teams.
Let's hope he doesn't. But come on now.
Come on.
I was like, I'll say it.
If you want to play Rashid Shaheed's stuff,
I would rather you just take like anytime special teams touchdown.
Right.
Like, I think that makes more sense than trying to chase the Rashid Shaheed like in the offense.
And I would have more respect for you because you got bigger balls.
That's true.
That's a good point.
That's a guy.
He's laying it out there.
Amen, brother.
All right.
I like that.
What you got?
What you got for two, Mitch?
I got a nasty one coming up next.
Real nasty one for the nasty boys out there.
That's us.
I got Austin Hooper over half a reception.
That's great.
That's great.
Has gotten a reception.
That is a tempting line.
It's very, it feels trappy, but he has hit this in four of his last five.
And this is a kitchen sink game for the Patriots.
You're the underdogs.
You got nothing to lose here.
Throw everything you can out.
And this is a very, like you said with Josh McDaniels,
a very creative play caller.
I think they find a way to get Austin Hooper some targets here.
because I think Mello talked about this earlier this week.
Like, this is not a good defense against the tight end position.
And I think they're going to have to focus on Hunter Henry.
Awesome and Hooper slips out.
You just takes one, Jack.
What's the motto of this podcast?
It just takes one.
It just takes one, baby.
We've been saying it since the inception of this pod.
It just takes one in the prop game.
That's right.
So give me Austin Hooper over half a reception.
My last pick, Mitch.
My last pick here.
Ramandre Stevenson. I'm going back to the well. Not that well. I'm staying on the ground.
50 plus rushing yards minus 109 right now on draft Kings. I think that is going to be the move
with Josh establishing the run game, getting it going, sticking with it as long as we can
and having this balanced attack, keeping that offense off the field, controlling the game,
having a well thought out I've been here a million times before game plan, running that ball.
Look at what he did against the Rams with Sony.
We're just going to keep pounding that rock,
and I think we're going to see Ramandre.
Get over that 50.
I don't want to say with ease,
but I don't think we're going to be sweating this thing
in the fourth quarter boys.
In the long, illustrious history of the lineup podcast,
no one has spoken with more love in their hearts for a player
than Jack about Ramondre Stevenson.
This is true.
This is true.
This is very true.
I think I mentioned him on every podcast.
Literally everyone.
I think you have.
And I can't say I hate this pick.
I mean, you know what I'm saying?
It's an imposing run defense.
It's an imposing run defense.
But if you look at the work, if you look at the volume of carries,
I think there's a great shot that you see Ramandre get like 15 carries in this game.
Travion, like, I think Trayvion's so talented.
I see a very bright future for him.
But like the way they're using him right now,
his line right now is five and a half carries.
I don't think you're going to see Trayvion get a ton of work.
four snaps last week.
I know.
And I love this.
He's a 20 yards.
He's a run heavy game.
His 20 is tempting right now because, again, it just takes one and he's a home run hitter.
So I could see that too, but you're right.
He's a for sure.
It just takes one.
Yeah, big time.
But no.
But I'm with you, Mitch.
I like that pick.
Thank you for backing me up.
You inspired me in the NFC championship game.
I'm going to do a teaser.
Six point teaser.
Give me the Patriots plus 10 and a half and give me over 39.
This is the bet I've already placed.
I teased it earlier.
I didn't want to tell you I have placed it already.
I love this bet.
Hit my line.
I'm placing this again.
I love this freaking bit.
I'll put the screenshot in here.
I don't even care.
I already get it.
I'll prove it to you.
To be honest,
the way I see this losing is probably the over 39.
If this gets to be like a really ugly,
like Super Bowl 53 type game for either side.
Yeah.
I guess it's possible because like you don't want to say the Patriots
couldn't get blown up.
They absolutely could.
Look at the Chiefs last year.
Everyone was like, oh, the Chiefs are the Chiefs.
They're going to win another Super Bowl.
And they got boat raced by the Eagles.
And so anything is possible.
But I just feel so confident we're going to see a back and forth affair.
And it's not getting past 10 points.
The last thing we need to decide on, what are we betting here?
Reputation plays are on the line.
We've come to the final week.
We haven't figured out what we are wagering on this.
bottle of champagne
I like a bottle of champ
I like a bottle of champ
I think that's a good one
we're not doing any kind of
sitting a denny's for 24 hours
Waffle house punishment
This isn't some fan of yes
This is something to say
I'm the king
And my reputation is intact baby
Something that's
Anything short of a crown
What's the liquid version of a crown
That can just put on your head Mitch
As a reputation king
Don Perry on
Maybe some Don P
Let's do it crack it open
The bottle might be
I'm just kidding. I don't, we, neither of us make enough money to do that.
Hey, after this weekend, though.
After this weekend, maybe we do.
There you go.
Jack and I will determine a bottle of champagne that will be priced somewhere in between Don Perri-on and Andre.
And that will be our bet as we determine who is the champ of reputation plays for the 2025 NFL playoffs.
Let's go.
Go, Patriots.
I'll be in the freaking building come hell or high water.
Don't know how I'm going to make it happen, but I'm making it happen.
Jack, you've got a bigger podcast to do a live reaction for at the game,
but we might need one for the lineup too.
There's no such thing as a bigger podcast than the lineup.
This is the the podcast, and if you ain't listening, get on it, pre-be.
We will be back next week.
I think we're going to start talking about a little bit of NFL draft stuff
and a big Super Bowl reaction from Jack and I next Friday.
Of course, our reaction coming on Monday with Mello and I.
A lot of reactions next week.
And then we take no offseason here at the lineup.
We are jumping into NFL draft bets, fantasy football mock drafts, and everything in between.
Thank you guys for watching.
Make sure to hit that like.
Spring training baseball, the Russian hockey league will be figuring everything out.
Yes, right.
I love it.
Let's go, baby.
Go pads.
We'll catch you guys next time.
Go paths.
