Starting point is 00:00:00 Whether you're prepping for a dynasty startup draft in the middle of a rebuild or competing for a championship here in 2026, we are breaking down our top 25 most valuable assets for Dynasty Fantasy Football Super Flex Edition. Welcome into the lineup fantasy football show. I'm Mitch Anderson. I'm Justin Mello. And we are going to jump right into things. We don't want to waste anybody's time. Starting here at number one, this should be obvious. We're talking Josh Allen, quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, 29 years old, and both of our contestants. census number ones. Mello, I'll let you start. Yeah, you're right. It is obvious. It's kind of a no-brainer,
Starting point is 00:00:37 so I don't need to spend too much time on it. But in Superflex leagues where quarterbacks score more points than anyone and you're starting two of them, you want the quarterback who scores more points than those other quarterbacks. And that's Josh Allen for QB1 finishes. Over the last six years, the two years he wasn't the quarterback one, he was the quarterback two. So just super consistent year in and year out. Still under 30. I kind of hate how much we glaze Josh Allen on this show because we have quite a bit. And we're both Patriots fans. So there's a little bit of pain associated with it.
Starting point is 00:01:08 But it's warranted. It's well deserved. He is the easy 1.1 in Dynasty startups, I think for Super Flex leagues. I think that's why you tune into the lineup fantasy football podcast is for the hard-hitting analysis of drafting the guy who scores more points than everyone else. Last five years, he was the QB1, QB2, QB1, QB2, QB1, just to show a little bit of that consistency. And when you look at consistency, we're not only looking at performance the past five years, but we like looking forward. And in terms of his outlook, it's going to be a pretty similar situation moving forward. I know we have the head coaching change, but you keep your OC there.
Starting point is 00:01:41 In Buffalo, he's becoming the head coach. Josh Allen is signed through 2030 with the Buffalo Bills, so you don't really have to worry about that. It probably was never going to be a worry anyways, but he will be attached to this team for years to come. And not to mention, the team just went out and grabbed DJ Moore and might even go grab another receiver in the draft. So this is a team that's committed to Josh Allen, and I see no reason why he won't be the number one quarterback and probably number one fantasy asset for at least five more years. I 100% agree. He still got quite a bit left in the tank. So I think you have a lot to look forward to going forward as well. All right, we are going to move off of Josh Allen so quick,
Starting point is 00:02:19 because that should have come as no surprise. Let's get into the second guy. Not a surprise, but this is a guy that I think is mainly someone that we're projecting to become one of the great quarterback talents in the NFL and showed it a little bit this year. But that's Drake May, quarterback for the New England Patriots, 23 years old, both of our number twos. The age plays such a role in this. 23, like, you have a chance to have Drake May for the next 15 years. If you're in a really serious Dynasty League and, like, you want to be able to project that far, Like there's a world that Drake May is a relevant quarterback for 12 to 15 years. Finish last year is the QB2 at 22 years old.
Starting point is 00:02:57 He's got Mike Rable as his head coach. We saw how much of a difference that made Josh McDaniels coming back to New England as the offensive coordinator. And when we're looking at this S-tier super elite valuable quarterbacks, it's so important that they have a rushing floor, which is something we didn't even mention with Josh Allen because it's so obvious. But Drake May certainly has that. 421 rushing yards is rookie year. 450 is sophomore year. second place in MVP voting fell just one vote short to Matthew Stafford.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I think it's really hard to make an argument against him being number two. Yeah, I think there could be an argument. There are a few guys I think you could reasonably take at number two. But I agree. I think it's Drake May, the age and the rushing ability you talk about, play a huge role. Also, just the deep ball passing ability. We love those explosive plays in football. One of the most ethical ballers, if you will, in the league with that age.
Starting point is 00:03:49 A dot, the high completion percentage. So really an elite player should be for years to come. You mentioned Mike Vrable being there. He should have great stability over the course of his entire career as long as they're both there in New England. And then Josh McDaniels, who say what you will about him. Some people hate Josh McDaniels. I think he's a great offensive play caller.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Yeah. And he will never get another head coaching chance. He has blown three opportunities now. No, nor should he. He was a disastrous head coach, but that's good for the Patriots. That's good for Drake May. I think I'll be able to hopefully stay in that same offensive system for his whole career, which is a really good thing. I think the Patriots are going out of their way to try to get Drake May as much help as possible.
Starting point is 00:04:31 He was phenomenal last year with very little help in the grand scheme of things. We've seen them address offensive line bringing in Elijah Vera Tucker. They just signed Romeo Dobbs to a contract. And the last couple days, the reports have really shifted toward it sounding like AJ Brown will in all likelihood be traded to the Patriots post. April 1st. That is not a guarantee. We do not know that yet. But it seems like that is a very likely outcome and that would obviously help Drake May tremendously. So there's a lot to be excited about. 100%. I think he's an obvious too here. But what I will say is our next guy had injuries not reared their ugly head could have easily been in this conversation for number two. And that's our
Starting point is 00:05:12 third player off the board, Jaden Daniels' quarterback for the Washington commanders, 25 years old. When you think of game-breaking cheat-code players in this new era of quarterbacks, I almost think the conversation has to start with Jaden Daniels. And when I say new era, I'm not counting Lamar Jackson because you had Michael Vick, you had Lamar Jackson, and now it feels like Jaden Daniels is that next guy up. I want to mainly talk about his rookie season because, yeah, there were some struggles last year, but I think so much of it can be chalked up to injury and we keep saying it, like, burn the tape. But not only was he such an elite rusher, his rookie year,
Starting point is 00:05:49 with 891 yards, six touchdowns on the ground, exactly six yards of carry, which is just crazy. But he was slinging it. He was the fourth highest rated passer by PFF's passing grade in 2024. The knock on Jaden Daniels is exactly what we saw last year. There was injury risk coming out of LSU. He missed the majority of last year. And so I think at the number three,
Starting point is 00:06:12 I understand people with a lower risk tolerance, not feeling so confident in drafting Jaden Daniels. but what I'll say is like, I'm someone who likes to play to win a championship. I'm okay if things crash and burn. Like, I want to take the swing to win. And like, I don't think there's a better guy than a 25-year-old quarterback with the highest rushing floor besides Lamar Jackson in the NFL. And is like in an offense that I think he can explode year in and year out. Yeah, I think he put that all very well, very, very similar to my thoughts.
Starting point is 00:06:44 I think it is totally fair to compare him to Lamar Jackson. and he is the closest thing we have in the NFL to Lamar Jackson stylistically, the explosive running ability. That's what we dream about in our fantasy quarterback. So that's why we do have him this higher. There is the risk, though, like you mentioned. And you do play to win, which is why he should be going super, super high in drafts.
Starting point is 00:07:06 But the injury risk is a little bit scary. I think we're a little bit premature on, like, worrying too much. I think it's because he's with Washington. You get those RG3 parallels that, drive people a little crazy. I'm guilty of it. Like, both Heisman winning quarterbacks, went second overall after an elite,
Starting point is 00:07:25 like generational prospect quarterback went at one, very mobile, brought Washington to the playoffs as rookies, one rookie of the year, and then had a disappointing year two full of injuries. It's like super similar starts to both of their careers. I love that comparison. I don't think about that enough going behind a guy
Starting point is 00:07:43 who was like a generational number one pick, Andrew Luck and Caleb Williams. Yeah, like, it's kind of scary how close the parallels are, which is why I think people are scared. But if you were on another team, I don't think we talk about it quite as much. I think it's more just like, you know, the RG3 parallels scaring us. He's wearing the same jersey. How could you not? Exactly.
Starting point is 00:08:03 But I think he'll be okay long term. The rushing upside, we keep harping on it. But with the exception of Lamar, I don't think there's a runner like him in the NFL. Obviously, Josh Allen, it's a big part of his game. Jalen hurts. for them though it's more like the touchdown upside as runners as opposed to just week and week out yardage they they are always to me like your like big bodied power running back yeah and like lamar and jaden just move in a way that the nfls never seen before they're so
Starting point is 00:08:34 shifty it's yeah in another life they probably could be like elite wide receivers in the NFL they're just premier athletes um yeah i think there's a lot to be excited about and for what it's worth even though last year was frustrating, and even when he played it didn't seem quite right, he still was second in rushing yards per game in the entire NFL among all quarterbacks. Yeah. So it's still there. Like, we know he can still do it. Not that I think most people are doubting that.
Starting point is 00:09:01 But I think there's a lot of reason to be very confident despite the early injuries. Yeah. And I think also, like, I just, I want to double down on my take. Like, he's a phenomenal passer. And I think that's something Lamar Jackson will get into that next. like he doesn't get nearly enough credit for it's because these guys are so good at running. They're not one-trick ponies. This isn't Justin Fields. You're not just getting like a track star. You're getting someone with an unbelievable arm who has an unbelievable IQ. And like as long as he can
Starting point is 00:09:30 stay healthy, I get the concern because we're two years in and one of these years was marred by injuries. But if he can stay healthy, man, Jaden Daniels is going to have a fun, fun career to watch. Absolutely. Let's move on to number four. we're going to have a very similar conversation here. It's Lamar Jackson quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens. 29 years old, which made me feel like insane. Because I'm like, man, I remember when Lamar was a rookie.
Starting point is 00:09:56 And it just feels like these past few years have flown by. He's number three on your list, number five on mine. I'm going to let you start because I feel like Lamar is so much more your guy, even though I love him too. We both love Lamar. He burned me last year, so I have every reason to hate Lamar, but I can't bring myself to do it. he we were just talking about jaden daniels talking him up giving him his props for being a good runner
Starting point is 00:10:18 like lamar now we're talking about lamar the golden standard of russian quarterbacks elite runners obviously the concern is the age and the injuries could catch up with him he may not rely on it as much going forward i'm not too concerned about that he is one percent of one percent of one percent of elite athletes that's the type of guy we're talking about here I think he'll still end up running a lot for years to come. And you're right, we still underrate him as a passer, which is criminal. We've done it his whole career, even going way back to 2019 when he won his first MVP. He led the NFL and passing touchdowns that season.
Starting point is 00:10:56 And since 2019, he's had the sixth most passing touchdowns in the NFL, despite time with injury and multiple different seasons. So he could throw the ball. He is a great passer. It certainly helps that teams are scared of him taking off and running. They have to respect that aspect of his game, which opens up the passing game as well. But he's taken advantage of it. He's been very effective.
Starting point is 00:11:15 He's getting older. I get it. But I still have so much faith in Lamar for years to come. Just two years ago, he was the quarterback won by a country mile, even over Josh Allen. Just two years, less than two years ago, really. So kind of throw out last year, I think he'll be more than fine going forward. To piggyback off of what you just said, that year, he had 42 years. He had 4,200 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Starting point is 00:11:42 That's just his air yardage and passing stats. On top of that, he had 915 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Lamar Jackson is like the definition of a dual threat quarterback. He truly can do it all. And when he's cooking, he's like the closest thing to like going on Madden and turning all your sliders up to 99 and just like going crazy. I'm not going to go too long on Lamar because I think you cover it. everything. But if you want to look at the risk, like he is a guy who has, even when he's not running, benefited from his mobility in the pocket, he's 29 years old. There have been some
Starting point is 00:12:17 injury risks. So similar to Jaden Daniels, it is like, you wonder how sustainable it is. I myself and you, I think, are citing that I think Lamar can do this for a while longer. And I think he is very, very worthy of a top five spot here in Dynasty. But if you're trying of poke holes in the argument. Of course you can. It's fantasy football. There's an argument against everybody. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:42 I think I understand the concerns, but yeah, I wouldn't let those concerns dissuade me from taking him top five. Yeah, for sure. Let it dissuade everyone else and you go grab potentially one of the most valuable assets in fantasy football for the next five years to come. Oh yeah. He's the only guy I think could very realistically be the quarterback one over Josh Allen for years to come.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Really? I put Jaden Daniels in that. argument. I don't think it's likely, but I actually do think because of how high the rushing floor is, that it's possible. I think it's possible, but if I'm picking between the two who it's more likely, I would say Lamar, at least for the next couple years. Of course. Yeah. Yeah, it's in Jaden's range of outcomes. It's just hard to keep up with Josh Allen's touchdown production. But yeah, it's possible. Let's move on to number five, our guy who would be the 101 in non-superflex, dynasty startup drafts.
Starting point is 00:13:35 That is Jamar Chase wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, 26 years old, my number three, Mello's number five. One QB, like I said, it just could not be more obvious that this is our favorite pick.
Starting point is 00:13:51 If I'm being honest, this might be a little bit of bias because I'm such a big Jamar fan, but to me I think the quote unquote disappointing year last year is such a bad narrative going around. Fish is the wide receiver four, and I think it's going to be a blip on the radar for what's going to be a trend similar to what I just described for Josh Allen of QB1, QB2, QB1.
Starting point is 00:14:11 I think we're going to see Jemar Chase be a top three wide receiver until he's at least 30 years old. And then we'll see what that next chapter is. But as far as wide receivers running back's tight ends, this is the premier guy you can get right now in fantasy. I don't think the argument's even remotely close. Yeah, I bet we talk about on the show he's my 1.1 in redraft in one. quarterback leagues. He's my 1.1 in Dynasty for one quarterback leagues. I only have them a couple spots lower just because I am very much a believer in getting
Starting point is 00:14:42 quarterbacks in Superflex leagues because they just score more points. And the scarcity, honestly. And the scarcity, yeah, there's only 32 starters. There's multiple starters for every team at receiver. But even though we talk about quarterback scoring more points, Jammar kind of keeps up with them in full point PPR in 2024 when he had that wide receiver one season. season. Lamar Jackson was the only person in fantasy that outscored him, any position. He was the second highest score that season. And half point PPR, he was only outscored by five quarterbacks
Starting point is 00:15:13 that year. And even last year, which, yeah, it was like the disappointing season. He was only outscored by 12 quarterbacks in half point PPR leagues. So yeah, he's, he is an incredible player year in year out, still just 26. Debatably, the best wide receiver in the league, at least in that conversation. Top three. You can't argue outside of the top three. That's where I draw the line.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Yeah, that is where I'd get blue in the face yelling at you if you tried to say this on a top three real life receiver. He's tied to Joe Burrow and elite quarterback should be for the foreseeable future. Easy smash to me.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Like this is a home run hit every time. Yeah, I completely agree. Joe Burrow, top two pass in quarterback, or pocket pass and quarterback in the NFL. Depends how you view Mahomes. If you put him in there, then it's a little more murky. But the other part of things is they have one of the worst defenses in the NFL,
Starting point is 00:16:07 and so they're always going to be trying to play keep up. And with that, you've got fantasy football gold. It's as good of an environment as you can get. Not to mention they just paid T. Higgins, which means even less money. They can go towards the defense over the next five years. I think a lot of people get concerned with the fact that it's like, oh, well, you've got this other elite receiver in the offense.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Shamar's not going to do as well. If you look at their splits, I have the stats here. In games with T. Higgins, 6.7, reception, a game, 88 yards and 0.7 touchdowns. In games without T. Higgins, 6.4 receptions, 86.4 yards, 0.7 touchdowns. It's basically linear, if not worse, without T. Higgins. So you've got T. Higgins under contract for years to come. Because of that, you're not going to have as much money to pay the defense. And he's doing better in games with T. Higgins. I think this is as good as it gets. And Jumar Chase is going to be a smash until he's at least
Starting point is 00:16:55 like 31, 32 years old. It's literally like the perfect situation. You couldn't draw up a better situation. It's fantasy gold. So absolutely, easily our top non-quarterback. At number six, we're going to talk about someone super different. And that's Joe Burrow, quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, 29 years old. I had the same thing written down here that I just can't believe he's 29. I know he came out of college a little bit older and so caught up with this kind of fast, but man, it's like this new era of quarterbacks. I think what makes it so weird is this whole new era came in and then Mahomes kept winning championship. chips. And so we didn't see any of these other guys grab any. And all of a sudden, you're like,
Starting point is 00:17:35 you blink and they're 30. And we're just old. Like I remember, and we're old. We're onk. Yeah, we're onk. We're older than like over half of players in the NFL. It's just, I don't say that. I hate, I hate saying that. Yeah, I'm not, I'm never going to say that again. I'm just going to pretend it's not true. But you're right. It's, it is crazy how quickly these guys are hitting 30 out of nowhere. I'll never be older than Joe Burrow. So that's good. That's true. Yeah. Unless you break the space. time continuum, you will always stay younger than Joe Burrow. So that is the good news. I think all the points we made about Jamar Chase apply to Joe Burrow, given their teammates,
Starting point is 00:18:10 they're in that same magical situation. Joe Burrow, not quite 30 yet, elite quarterback tied to Jamar, tied to T, who you mentioned also got extended. So for the foreseeable future, we're going to have this beautiful situation, the bad defense, which is great. Obviously, the one thing I think holding Joe Burrow back, aside from just the injuries, which have become a little bit of an issue in recent years. But aside from that, it's just the lack of rushing upside, which is really what we look for in our fantasy quarterbacks. It caps the ceiling. It lowers the floor. Those guys that run really have safe floors in fantasy. But everything else is so perfect that it just kind of doesn't matter. He is so good in such a good situation. Superflex
Starting point is 00:18:51 leagues where you want as many quarterbacks as possible, how can you not take them, you know, top five or six? There's such a hilarious irony to that that he's kind of. He's kind of kind of this unicorn in fantasy football for being such a high performing pocket passer. And yet, I would probably put him at number three for the most worried I am about the injury side of things. Usually you're looking at Russian quarterbacks who are putting themselves in vulnerable positions
Starting point is 00:19:16 to get hurt. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow, the vulnerable position is in the pocket because his offensive line is so bad. Yeah, and he does hold the ball a little bit too long sometimes. So, like, maybe some of that is on him. But yeah, I mean, it has been very frustrating. It's, I think it's been frustrating to Bengals fans. Obviously, us in the fantasy community as well.
Starting point is 00:19:34 The good news is, though, I don't think it's anything that I, like, I think will linger long term or affect his game because he doesn't need to run the ball. Like, it's not like, oh, he's losing the mobility. It wasn't really there to begin with. So I feel pretty good about it still. But like you said, I mean, you can't find a team that's more committed to giving their quarterback weapons. He's tied to Jemar Chase.
Starting point is 00:19:53 He's tied to T. Higgins. They're going to have this bad defense for a while. Like, fantasy football, gold, left and red. He's 29, which is a little bit on the older side, but that doesn't mean you can't get five to six more really good years out of Joe Burrow. Definitely. I think we probably will get at least another good five or six years. Time to move on to two receivers here.
Starting point is 00:20:12 We'll start with one of them that you should be able to have for years to come. We're going to start with Super Bowl champion Jackson Smith and Shigba. 24 years old, wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. He was my number seven, Mello's number eight. We're going to flip-plop on the next guy. Is he the hottest name in fantasy football? right now? He might be.
Starting point is 00:20:32 It's hard to say. I think that's the only thing taming it down is people don't want to say his name because they're afraid of butchering it. But he might be the hottest name in fantasy right now. I think he is.
Starting point is 00:20:41 And that doesn't mean he's like the number one pick or the best player in fantasy football, but I just think his ascension last year like he is the most talked about guy. And for good reason, he was last year's wide receiver two after being drafted as the Y receiver 14
Starting point is 00:20:53 and redraft. He just turned 24 in mid-February. So pretty good month for JSN. As far as route runners go in the NFL, I think he's one of my favorite to watch. And he's Sam Darnold's favorite to target. He was number two in targets on the year, which is a very sticky stat we know in the fantasy football community. He had 157 targets that he converted into 119 catches and 10 touchdowns. And he was second on the year in targets, but he was actually number one in target share historically high with 34.91%.
Starting point is 00:21:26 insane. Seattle had a ton of blowouts this year that obviously affected that. The one that always comes to mind as the Arizona game that was over like eight minutes into the first quarter. And I don't even know how many times
Starting point is 00:21:37 Sam Darnold dropped back in the second half. So I think if you're looking at Seattle and you're expecting a little bit of regression from like a team perspective, you should be expecting like more passing volume and hopefully more going to JSN. Another sticky stat I really love with him is he was second among qualified receivers
Starting point is 00:21:54 in air yards per route run at 3.0. You'll notice I said second a lot on all of these statistics, and that is because the player we're about to talk about after was number one in all of these. Yes, and I love this next player. I won't go there yet because I do think we need to give JSN some more credit here. You mentioned Widered Super 2, just turned 24, and it's worth noting Darnold is still only 28, and clearly that's a match made in heaven. They have insane chemistry.
Starting point is 00:22:21 You mentioned that target share. I remember after like week two last year, JSN had like over a 50. 50% target share, which obviously was not sustainable. But it was like, what the hell was happening? You're going to get that for years to come, which is awesome. You mentioned how good he is as an elite route runner, precise, crisp routes. And the nice thing about that is it's something that doesn't really fade with age, like elite speed or elite explosiveness.
Starting point is 00:22:46 So his skill set, I think, is something that could translate well into his 30s even. Like, you look like a guy like Devonte Adams is still very, very good. He took the words out of my mouth. Yeah. Yeah. It's a great comparison because DeVante's always relied on just precise route running and technique. And that's why he's still so good at 33. I think J.S.N. is that in that same category of receiver.
Starting point is 00:23:08 So he could be doing this a very long time. If you want me to be super nitpicky and split hairs, which for any guy we're ranking this high, if we're saying anything negative, that's all we're doing really is just like kind of splitting hairs. But making conversation about him. Exactly. And the conversation I will bring up here. If you want something to be a little worried about is the departure of Clint Kubiak. You mentioned there'll probably be some regression just because anytime a team was as good as they were, there's going to be regression no matter what the circumstances are.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Kubiak leaving, I think, is getting talked about a lot more in the context of him being with the Raiders and what it means for them, as opposed to him leaving the Seahawks and what it means for them. There is a chance they don't just pick up where they left off. You see it all the time like O. C's leave. Look at Philly last year. They lost Kellyn Moore and then it was kind of a disaster. I'm not too worried about it, especially because everything else is kind of the same, and JSN is just that good of a receiver that I don't think he's only going to be good with one offensive play call or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:24:06 So overall, I'm not worried, but it is something to consider. No, I think it's completely fair. And the knock I had on JSN here was Kubiak moving on, because we talked about this at the beginning of our podcast. Like, something to never discount is coordinator changes. Like, you can be really hot and bothered and excited about a play. and want to just like look past that stuff because you're so excited. But it does really extend the range of outcomes.
Starting point is 00:24:35 Like you don't know what's going to happen this next year. You don't know what this offense is going to look like. Great example of Philadelphia. Kellyn Moore had it clicking on all cylinders. Kevin Petula came in and blew up the car. So I don't know. But what I can say is he's 24 years old. He's attached to Sam, he's attached to Sam Darnold.
Starting point is 00:24:52 I'm done saying Sam Darnold is like some bridge quarterback, whatever. He has proven himself. He's a franchise QB. And I think besides the coordinator shift, JSN's position is like pretty firm right now. I'm pretty steady. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:06 You know, like I said, I'm just splitting hairs. I agree. I would be very, very excited to have him at a tonis too week. I think he has another potentially like a decade of good prediction. Yeah, absolutely. Let's move on to number eight.
Starting point is 00:25:19 The guy that we had razor thin here, we just flip-flopped. Mello had him at seven. I had him at eight. That is Puka Nakua, wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams. Also 24, but will be 25 by the time they report for camp. Before we jump into things, I'd just like to give my argument against Pukunakua. And it's simply...
Starting point is 00:25:36 We just talked about the Clint Kubiak thing with J.S.N. For me, I have some fears about how long Matthew Stafford is in L.A. And that fear is that this is it this year. I think this is probably Matthew Stafford's final year. It'll be the last year of his contract. And Matthew Stafford has always been a kingmaker for why. receivers. Now that I'm done talking negative, let's talk so positive about Pooka and Akua because he is so awesome. And I'm going to let you just jump into things. I just, Pooka Naku is the best.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Yeah, don't ever talk shit about him again. That was really rude. You're right though. I mean, I had that written down as well. That is actually a very real concern of mine. But I'm still bullish on Pooka Nakua. Mitch, I've been kind of sitting on a little bit of a hot take here. Then I'm ready to share it with the world, a little bit spicy. I don't know how hot it is honestly. I think a lot of people would probably agree with it. But I know there'll be very angry people online too. So I'm going to call it a hot take. I think Pukukua in real life NFL football is the best wide receiver in the world.
Starting point is 00:26:35 I truly think that. I've thought about it. I sat on it. I think the draft capital is a reason some people are still hesitant. He is such a complete receiver, though. There is no weakness in his game at all. The route running is, we talked about with JSN. I mean, JSN's obviously another very elite route runner.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Pooka Nakuwa also insanely good route runner beats man coverage, beats zone coverage. He has spectacular catchability, an insane catch radius. Some of the best catches of last season were all Pukkahua. Oh, my God. Just some of the most ridiculous, like, circus contested catches you'll ever see. That catch against Atlanta that didn't, oh yeah, did count, and then the clock kept running at the end of the season was like, insane.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Not humanly possible. Like, if I wasn't watching it live, I would have thought it was AI. just like a not humanly possible catch. And I think his best asset is his run after the catch. You get the ball in his hands. He is a wrecking ball, an elusive wrecking ball. He hit so many yards after the catch. And sure why not, let's throw in that elite blocking too.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Not that really gets his fantasy points, but maybe the best blocking wide receiver in the league. And not just stock blocking either. Like they'll put him in motion and use him as elite blocker, almost like a full back. And he just runs that guy's full speed ahead. He's so fun to watch. He's so amazing.
Starting point is 00:27:55 And now that I've gotten that off my chest as my hot take in terms of how good he is in real life, that obviously translates to fantasy as well, which is why I'm so excited. He is a volume king too, which is so, so important in fantasy. Even like playing with Cooper Cup early on in his career and then with Devante Adams more recently, who also got his and was super productive. Despite all of that, Pukonakuha just demands targets. He is such a volume king. you're right though the stabber thing does scare me
Starting point is 00:28:24 Justin Jefferson proved last year that no wide receiver is truly fully quarterback I'm so out on the quarterback proof argument it does not exist you need somebody to throw the ball to you yes and I made it with Justin Jefferson and I feel like an idiot because there are the nines of the world
Starting point is 00:28:39 and unfortunately they can break your fantasy wide receiver the plague of the nine so in a couple years we don't know who will be throwing puk in a coup of the ball if that is the reason you want to put j.S. in a of them. I don't really have a problem with that. The only other concern, which I fully hear as somebody who has very frequently drafted Pukua, who has him in the Dynasty League, the injuries, he spends,
Starting point is 00:29:02 we talk about it on the show, he spends more time in the Blue Medical Tent than Al Davis does at P.F. Chains. So, any time that happens, even if it's not something serious, you just kind of watch and you watch, you know, get up gingerly and go to the tent and you're like, shit, shit, is this going to be serious? That's not really fun. But everything else about Pukonaku is very fun. But everything else about Pooka was very fun. Yeah, it is a concern, and I actually think I let that get into my head last year and redraft, the blue 10th thing. But it's exactly what you said.
Starting point is 00:29:28 He's going to spend eight minutes in there, and then he's going to come out and get you, like, 25 points after the fact. So, like, why does it matter? For me, with Pugatuku, it's like, if you're doing a draft of guy you want to have on Monday night football when you're down 30 points, non-quarterback, I think he's the 101. Yeah, I think. At least long term, absolutely. Like, McCaffrey is the only other guy that came to my mind.
Starting point is 00:29:54 And Chimar is in there. But, like, Puka, his ceiling on a week to week basis is, like, unmatched at the wide receiver position. He's just unbelievable. Piggy backing off of everything you said. I don't hate the argument. He's the best receiver in football because of how complete he is with the route running, the speed, the physicality, the blocking.
Starting point is 00:30:12 He's willing to do the dirty work, which I don't think you see with every receiver in today's NFL. And so for redraft, I think I'm. actually gotten to a point that I'm willing to put him over JSN. But for Dynasty, I know, when we get back and do another top 12 wide receivers, I'm going to have to really, you know, come to God and think about that. But for Dynasty, I have to keep JSN above him just because of the quarterback situation, the ambiguity.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Yeah, I mean, as much as I love Puka and as much as I will stand firm him over JSN, it's really close. And I would not like scoff at all at anybody for taking JSN over Puka in a Dynasty week. I think that is a totally fine pick to make. Yeah. All right, let's jump back into quarterbacks here at number nine, the Iceman. Caleb Williams, quarterback for the Chicago Bears, 24 years old.
Starting point is 00:31:00 I don't know why it's just like, I think it's because we've been hearing so much about Caleb Williams since USC that he just feels older. But he was number nine for each of us. I don't know if you felt the same way, but I finished ranking these guys. And I almost felt like I wished I could have put him higher. I'm so excited about Caleb Williams. I just need to see a tiny bit more. But I want to jump in and give an argument that to me he's Drake May light. And Drake May, of course, being our number two asset in Dynasty Fantasy football.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Let me explain why. It's not quite the same, but a rookie season filled with some mistakes, not a ton of winning, and a whole lot of flashes of like the top tier talent that got you excited. Let's move on to his sophomore season. This team goes out and acquires one of the top coaches of the carousel, who transforms the offense, begins getting the best out of their guy, and we see those flashes of talent way more consistently, kind of becoming the norm,
Starting point is 00:31:52 and the mistakes begin to fade, but I think we also saw with Drake May, those mistakes are not completely gone. Drake May finishes as the quarterback 2, now 23 years old. Caleb finishes as the quarterback 6, now 24 years old. He might not be quite the rusher that Drake May is, but he still tacked on 388 on the ground with three touchdowns, of course, going along with the 3,900 passing yards
Starting point is 00:32:14 and 27 touchdowns in the air. I don't think last season was Caleb Williams full-on arrival, and I think there's a chance that he breaks out fully this year. Of course, becomes Chicago's first 4,000-yard passer, and we're all of a sudden talking about him in that top five. I think he's priced correctly here, though. I want to say that. I just think that there's, like, a lot of people are like,
Starting point is 00:32:38 whoa, Caleb Williams broke out. I don't even know if that was the real breakout. Yeah, I mean, it was a huge step up from his rookie year. I think there's still room for growth, like you mentioned. I don't hate the Drake May parallels. It's not really one I thought about a lot, especially given they were the same draft class. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:54 Which, by the way, can we talk about? Isn't it kind of crazy that all three of the top quarterbacks from that 2024 draft class feel like they have worked out and will continue to work out? Tap in Bo Nix on that too. Yeah, even Bo Nix. We'll leave Pennix and nine very far away. Nine's worked out.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Yeah, nine's been great. He's been awesome. No, but seriously, I know they were all super highly regarded prospects, so in that sense it's not that surprising that they're working out. But typically you would expect to see one or two bus. I mean, just a couple years before that, off the top you had Trevor Lawrence at one who took his time. Point being, it's not very often you see all the top quarterbacks really succeed in a couple years in.
Starting point is 00:33:37 You feel really good about them. But here we are. We have all three of them in our top nine rankings for Dynasty Superfund weeks. Yeah, that is pretty wild. You're right. So I think that's really cool. I agree. I think there is still room for growth, but tied to Ben Johnson, like you mentioned,
Starting point is 00:33:51 and only 24 and this elite armed talent, sign me up. It's really similar to the Drake May situation where part of the reason I feel so good about putting him up there is like, hell yeah, Mike Vrable. Hell yeah, Ben Johnson. Like, the situation matters so much. And I love, love, love Mike Frable as a biased Patriots fan. But I think from a fantasy perspective, Ben Johnson's even better because he is a premier offensive play caller.
Starting point is 00:34:13 and you know Caleb will be tied to that, hopefully for like his whole career. So yeah, that's something to be really excited about, still young. Also worth noting not only is Caleb still young, but so are all of his main pass catchers. Oh yeah. Luther Burton, Colston Loveland, who we both really like a lot. As a whole, it's not like an elite receiving corps, but it's good that they're all young and they can kind of build this chemistry with Caleb. They can hopefully grow throughout their careers together and just have a certain level of stability
Starting point is 00:34:39 and familiarity for years to come. Caleb being the quarterback six last year doesn't feel real too right like when I saw that it didn't it didn't feel like he was that good but he was he was the quarterback six so I think there was a lack of consistency from a fantasy perspective
Starting point is 00:34:56 I think you had a lot of games that were like a little tough with Caleb but then you had those he had a few games where it felt like he'd come out with a rushing touchdown then you check it half time you're like oh my god yeah he's got like 150 yards a score on the ground a score in the air and I think he'd got more consistent as the year went on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:14 But you're right. It was a little bit of feaster famine. When the ice man came out, you were getting boom weeks. Yeah. Because when the ice man is out there, you're getting some late. When the temperature dropped below 60 degrees, the ice man came out. I want more ice man for years to come. But yeah, I mean, as long as he can finish, he doesn't even have to be like the quarterback
Starting point is 00:35:36 six here and a year out. If he can just be like the quarterback eight or nine consistently every year, This may be a little bit disappointing, but it's still worth a ton in a Super Flex League to have somebody who's consistently giving you quarterback one kind of production when you're starting two quarterbacks. So that's exciting. One last little fun note, this doesn't really mean that much, admittedly. But he, according to Pro Football Focus, had the six most big time throws last year. It feels like he might have been one just based on the eye test. He's just so fun and so electric to watch. And that is worth something. We play fantasy for fun. If you're going to start the Izing league, you want players you want to watch and root for and be excited about. And Caleb Williams is definitely in that category. Anything can happen on a Caleb Williams drop back, good or bad. Yeah. He's like Jamesis. I was going to say, you compared him to James during the postseason. I did actually. I forgot I did that. But I mean, I think I was Honda something because I'm thinking about it again. He's a better James Winston. Um, I would say before we jump into our last guy, this is probably
Starting point is 00:36:35 of the last quarterback in like one quarterback dynasty that I'd be super excited about taking high, I think after this it gets a little bit less enticing. I don't know if you agree. I do. I think there's a little bit of a break, mostly because of age than anything. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I agree. All right, let's move on to number 10, Mikul Hardman's former quarterback Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs. That was criminal, Mitch. That was a criminal leader for Patrick Mahomes. 30 years old. This one surprised me. I was higher than you.
Starting point is 00:37:09 I had him at 10. You had him at 11. Our 26 outlook, you were much higher than me. But 30 years old, the wheels fell off the absolute wagon that has been the Kansas City Chiefs in the past few years.
Starting point is 00:37:22 His best weapons aging, his other best weapon cannot stay out of trouble. And I don't care at all because it's Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, he's actually last night, I got in a almost heated argument about Patrick Mahomes being the best quarterback in the NFL
Starting point is 00:37:38 because I do wholeheartedly believe he is in real life still and then I hated myself for doing that because I'm like, why am I defending Mahomes? Like I'm a hater totally, but he is great. I am a little bit lower on him. I think for a couple of reasons in Dynasty, one being the next guy we're going to talk about. It won't spoil, but he's a little bit younger
Starting point is 00:37:56 and I like the rushing upside more. The other thing, and I don't want to spend too much time on this, but I have been very, very vocal about how I think Rishi Rice is a value in redraft and dynasty. I'm starting to get really worried about his longevity because of the off-the-field stuff you alluded to. Like, it's really scaring me now.
Starting point is 00:38:13 And that would hurt Mahomes, obviously. He's his number one weapon. So that does scare me. However, and this is something we brought up before, too. He was the quarterback two last year before he tore his ACL. That is so wild. It is. I couldn't believe it.
Starting point is 00:38:29 But he was. And the chief sucked. And they were so disappointing. And the offense couldn't get anything going. And he was still the quarterback, too. he was the quarterback one as recently as 2022 just I guess like technically four years ago now not that long ago he's still the same player it's just he hasn't
Starting point is 00:38:44 been surrounded by a lot of talent it's not like he's gotten worse though and the chiefs are trying for what it's worth we just saw them pay ken walker they have had no running back production for years they made sure to fix that to help mahomes in the running game getting ken walker it should change i think they're going to address receiver in the draft potentially Xavier worthy obviously like did not work out i think I think it's safe to call him a bus. Some might disagree.
Starting point is 00:39:07 I think at this point, I'm ready to call him a bus. So we'll see what they do. We'll see if they bring in another receiver in the draft. But it is encouraging to see there are trying to address this offense, and he is still Patrick freaking Mohams. My main argument for why I have him higher than you is I have been as vocal as it gets about how much I hate Matt Nagy. I just don't think there's a space for him in the NFL anymore.
Starting point is 00:39:32 The Giants disagreed, I guess. But here's a stat. This comes from Blitz Grit Iron. Mahomes with Eric Bienemy, the old and now new offensive coordinator of the Kansas State Chiefs, versus without. With Bienemy, almost 4,800 passing yards a season. Without him, 3,900. With Bianemy, 38 touchdowns without 25. With 10 interceptions, without 12. With 66% completion without still 66, and two MVPs with Biener. none without him.
Starting point is 00:40:02 I think it is so clear cut. The main ones you want to look at are an extra 13 touchdowns a season and almost an extra thousand yards. Bienemy knows how to get the best out of Patrick Mahomes. Matt Nagy does not know how to get the best out of any football player on planet Earth. So I feel really, really confident moving forward.
Starting point is 00:40:19 There's always the chance that there's going to be an OC change and in Dynasty you don't want to put too much stock into that. But I think you're going to see a very strong next few years out of Mahomes. My biggest worry in redraft and why I had him lower is just because I don't know if he's going to come back in 2026 immediately at full form. I think the injury might hobble him a little bit. But if we're trying to project out the next five years, it's Patrick Mahomes. And I think if anything, you might be getting a value on a guy specifically if you're
Starting point is 00:40:48 looking to compete in the next few years. Yeah. And I agree. He's, I think probably almost certainly the oldest guy we've talked about to this point. So yes, I think he is in half sense more of a win now guy. but I will note his play style as well as more particularly his work ethic he's a guy I think could play into his late 30s I agree so you could have some longevity still there I mean we don't know that for sure but he is a guy I think could play pretty deep into his career maybe even early 40s it's hard to say that for sure but we see more I mean Brady played into his mid 40s Rogers in his early 40s so we see guys do it it's it's literally the LeBron's 30 years old surely there won't be much more of this fuckery. Now, is Patrick Mahomes turning 30 years old? It could be. It very well could be.
Starting point is 00:41:35 All right. Let's move on. Number 11. You're a little bit more excited about this guy. Justin Herbert, quarterback of the Los Angeles Chargers, now 28 years old. Your number 10, my number 11. I'll let you start. Yeah, this is the guy I mentioned. I do have him a little bit higher than the Homes and dynasty because he is a couple years younger and he does have the mobility. Mahomes actually ran quite a bit last year, but it's not really a big part of this game. Cut out of necessity, though. Exactly. He's like running for his life, which I guess to a lot of extent, so was Justin Herbert. But. Yeah, for sure. And you mentioned too, like the ACL. I think Mahomes will still be ready to go for next year, but maybe not mobily, maybe not running as much, whereas I think Herbert still will run the ball quite a bit. So that's why I do like him a little bit more in Dynasty. I've already talked about how bullish I am on this offense as a whole. I love the Mike McDaniel. signing. And don't forget, and I cannot emphasize this enough, that Joe Alt and
Starting point is 00:42:32 Roshan Slater did not play last year. They basically were hurt for the entire year. Joe Alt played a little bit. Rassan Slater did not play at all. Those are two premier offensive tackles. They were so bad in past protection last year. And to go from horrible, horrible, horrible protection to two like potential all pro caliber offensive tackles. Some are calling this offensive tackle change, the biggest upgrade since Jack Antonoff went from dating Lena Dunham to Market Qualey. A little bit of a deep cut there. No offense to Ms. Dunham. Sure she's nice. I'm not saying it. Just some people are saying that. So I think there's a lot to look forward to for this offense. Justin Herbert at one point, his career was considered a top three dynasty quarterback.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Yeah. For a reason. He's older now. He's 28, I know. But he was the quarterback 10 last year. a disaster situation. And I just can't imagine it being worse than that barring injury. I think that's kind of his floor for the next few years. I've got pretty much nothing to add here. I think you covered it all. He had 498 rushing yards last year for a guy that I don't think a lot of people view as a real rushing quarterback. He finished as the QB. Was it a QB9 or QB10? I saw QB10. Okay. I saw it, I guess it depends on the format. I saw QB9 too, but he was a top 10 quarterback last year with all those issues, you bring back to all pro tackles. Like, this should be a much better situation for Justin Herbert.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Yeah, I literally cannot get worse. I quite literally cannot. Let's move on to a running back on this list. Finally, I think it should be obvious at number 12. That is Bijon Robinson running back for the Atlanta Falcons, 24 years old. And ding-dong, Tyler Algier is gone. and celebrate hallelujah this is beautiful if you are a bejohn robinson owner and you haven't popped a bottle of champagne you should you've earned it you sat through the tyler algier nonsense surely this fuckery will not go on much longer i know what i'm doing tonight as a bejong owner in dynasty i might have to pop that champagne tonight because boy am i excited it's just he is one of the most electrifying players in fantasy football and you had to deal with that i can't even imagine how fun this next year is going to be.
Starting point is 00:44:48 Like, he's my personal 101 in redraft. If this was like, you know, in Dynasty, it's like obviously as a running back, I have him a little lower. But like, to me, it's not even close. Not even the youngest running back in our top 25, but just talent and situation-wise. Like, it's impossible not to rank him here. He's also playing behind one of PFF's top 10 run blocking offensive lines. He was the RB2 and PPR last year behind only Christian McCaffrey.
Starting point is 00:45:14 And according to fantasy pros was the most. rostered player on championship teams, 18 and a half percent, likely due to the week 17 explosion of like 40 points. Elite rusher, phenomenal receiving work, absolute home run across the board. Yeah, you mentioned like his position is the only reason he's not higher. Exactly. Super Flex Dynasty is probably the format he is the least valuable because obviously Superflex quarterbacks just matter more. Running back score fewer points than quarterbacks and
Starting point is 00:45:45 receivers on average as well. Plus they have the shortest careers from a dynasty perspective, so that pushes him down. But yeah, I mean, you mentioned he's your 1.1 in redraft, and he's my number one running back in redraft, and he's only 24. So anytime your highest ranked running back in redraft
Starting point is 00:46:02 is only 24 years old, that means he's a smash dynasty asset. So I think we're both excited about him. Pro football focuses, third highest ranked running back last season, and it showed when you watch. I don't know if there is a single player in the NFL that passes the eye test with such flying colors.
Starting point is 00:46:19 I agree with that. Just the elusiveness, the quickness, the explosiveness, it's unbelievable to watch and play. If the aliens came down and you want to show them what the National Football League was all about, I would show them Bejohn-Robinson highlights, and I'd probably be like, check out these Tavon-Austin highlights, too. Yeah, got to get some Tavon in there. Man, I forgot about Tavon-A-Osson. He got freaking paid in the NFL doing nothing his whole...
Starting point is 00:46:45 Ricky contract. Yeah, but that, that hype video is crazy, that mixed scene. Taborne Austin College was a different animal. Unbelievable. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:46:53 I mean, it's, it's, I know it's not a hot take to say Bijon's incredible. I actually think Stavansky is good for him, too.
Starting point is 00:46:59 He's obviously an offensive head coach. And we've seen what Kevin Stavansky's done in the past with his running backs, like in Minnesota with Delvin Cook and then in Cleveland with Nick Chubb and even, like, to a large extent, Quinn Chod Junkins last year,
Starting point is 00:47:12 he gets production out of his running backs. And he's not afraid to give them, close to workhorse treatment, which is especially nice with El Jir gone. It seems like Stefansi is going to give Bijan everything. It's like the anti-Arthur Smith experience. Yes. Like a few years ago, every Bijan owner that was so frustrated with the play calling, I think you're going to love Kevin Stefansky.
Starting point is 00:47:32 So this is looking very beautiful for the next few years. Yeah. I don't have anything else to say. Bejohn just rocks. Bejohn Robinson. At number 13, we're going to talk about a running back in a very similar situation. That's Jemir Gibbs of the Detroit. Lions running back 23 years old. He was both of our number 13s. Ding dong, David Montgomery
Starting point is 00:47:51 is gone. And now you're going to get the full Jumeer Gibbs experience. The razor thin margin between JASN and Puka, this kind of felt like the running back version of that. I agree. One note I have with Gibbs is I think last year felt a little feast or famine at times. He was the RB4. He had 430 plus point performances, but he also loved four games with single digit points. Uh, fortunately, I think part of those struggles was the constant thornyn his side of David Montgomery. And believe me, I do not think Pacheco is going to do nearly as much damage into Gibbs' like workload. Um, I'm full steam ahead on him. He's 23 years old. He's a phenomenal running back attached to a great head coach and a great offense. This should be fantastic. He just, he just couldn't from a talent perspective, get over Bijon Robinson for me.
Starting point is 00:48:42 I agree. But I am okay if somebody wants to. but Gibbs over. Sure. Like, I think the JSN Puka comparison was a really good one. Like, it's razor thin. You could go either way. They are similar, like elite running backs who are young. They were the same draft class apps, actually.
Starting point is 00:48:57 And you mentioned they both shed the thorn in their sides over recent years. So very, very similar. One thing I do want to call out, you mentioned David Montgomery leaving. There weren't too many times we only saw Gibbs without David Montgomery. But the last three games of 2024, David Montgomery did miss. And in those three games, granted it's a small sample size, Jamir Gibbs averaged 162 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns per game. You can start making the argument.
Starting point is 00:49:26 That's without even accounting for receptions, which he did have. Yeah. So let's just say standard scoring. That's 28.2 fantasy points per game. I by no means saying he's going to continue to do that. Jesus. Like without David Montgomery, it has been nuclear out of Jemir Gibbs. being a little nitpicky again, something I want to ask you about,
Starting point is 00:49:50 it kind of feels like the Lions are a little bit of a descending team to me. I think they'll still be good in 2026. Like I think they could bounce back and be in the playoffs. They have a much easier schedule. But long term, the Lions got so good because they acquired all these draft picks and they hit on them early. Yeah, right. They built a top-to-bottom team.
Starting point is 00:50:07 They haven't been hitting in the draft as much recently. I don't know how long Jared Gough has as a franchise quarterback. He's never really been elite. He's getting older. Are we worried in a few years, Jamir Gibbs could be stuck on like a dog shit team and then we're getting a little bit worried? I mean, I guess, like,
Starting point is 00:50:24 I guess it could be in a few years. He's not in as good of a situation. But I just think he's so talented and he has the receiving work too, which I think is such an important thing to me that, like, you know, because you look at running backs that are like purely runners and then you're like, how is game script going to affect this? If they're not in games when they're leading all the time, then like, shoot, they're screwed.
Starting point is 00:50:43 But for Gibbs, like, I think he's going to have a role in that offense no matter what the situation. So maybe a little, because I agree with you. I do think there's a risk here that Detroit's not the same Detroit in three to four years. But I think Gibbs is still going to be a top five running back if that makes sense. I do. I do think that makes sense. And I agree. It is something that I've thought about and has made me consider his dynasty asset, maybe a little bit differently.
Starting point is 00:51:08 But you're right. He's such an elite talent, such a great pass catcher, that overall, I think he still warrants, you know, a top, definitely a top 15 pick in dynasty startups, even in Superflex. For sure. Let's move on to number 14. This is a guy that I think both of us with the recent news kind of wanted to move up, but there wasn't a lot of wiggle room here. That's Justin Jefferson, Kyler Murray's wide receiver won for the Minnesota Vikings.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Thank God. If you're a dynasty owner for Kyler Murray, that could have been any quarterback walking through that door besides J.J. McCarthy and you could have been happy. but I'll let you get into things. You are definitely the Justin Jefferson guy of the podcast. Another guy who burned me last year, but I still just,
Starting point is 00:51:49 I can't hate him. I just love him too much. Yeah, I think you're right. Like, I think we're both wanting to move him higher. I couldn't quite bring myself to do it, but I feel like a criminal for not.
Starting point is 00:52:00 Like, I feel like we should have him higher. Yeah. I think we're actually still higher on him than consensus last time I looked. Yeah, so we're already a little higher on him than most. I think, ask me again in a month I might have them a few spots higher because I feel like I am guilty
Starting point is 00:52:16 of recency bias, as is the whole fantasy community because of how disastrous last year was, but we now have nine reasons to feel much better with the Kyler Murray walking through the door. So part of me feels like he should be up there with like in that same tier. I think I mentioned this in redraft. I think it's the same in Dynasty. I think you can make an argument he should be going right around where Jamar and Puka in JASN are. Oh, wow. You'd move him up that much.
Starting point is 00:52:43 I mean, he's 26, so he's a little bit older than, like, JSN and Puka, but he's right in the same age range. Yeah. And we've seen him do it before. Like, last year was the outlier. He is a, he has a wide receiver one finish. He has, I think, two wide receiver two finishes. So we've seen him do it before. Kyler, by the way, say what you want about him. He has supported, like, elite pass catchers before. DeAndreadre Hopkins was the wide receiver five in 2020, playing with Kyler Murray. Tray McBride was the time. head end two in 2024 playing with Kyler Murray. So Kyler can support legitimate number one. We'll see if he stays there long term. He could be one and done with the Vikings. I'm hoping it works out. I'm hoping he stays long term.
Starting point is 00:53:23 But I think JJ could actually be a really nice buy in Dynasty right now. Yeah. I think what you said about recency bias is so true, where I feel like fantasy football is this constant exercise of trying not to be a prisoner of the moment, but also trying not to just project something out as a trend at the same time. But you're right. This was the outlier. If you throw away this last year, I'm going to call it the nine year, then you get a guy who's been top five in points per game at the wide receiver
Starting point is 00:53:49 position every year outside of his rookie season where he ranked ninth. At our number 14, you are getting a guy that could genuinely finish as the wide receiver won any year. I don't think Kyler Murray is a franchise changing NFL talent quarterback, but I do think like you said, he's a guy that can support a wide receiver one and has done it before for fantasy football and I don't think there's any reason to believe that JJ can't do it with him. I'm throwing away quarterback proof
Starting point is 00:54:19 but Kyler Murray is good enough to get over that like label. I love what you said about any almost any quarterback could have walked through that door and been named the Vikings new starter and I'd be more optimistic. Kyler was the best scenario. Like that I think given who's available
Starting point is 00:54:36 Kyler easily was the best outcome. Nathan Peterman gets signed as the starter. Are you keeping him at 14? You might have found just like the 1% the one guy. The one guy that I would not be excited about, almost anyone else. Yeah, I think we have him in the right spot,
Starting point is 00:54:54 but I agree with you. Just the summer of fantasy football and dynasty and best ball is so fun as we just sort through all this data and biases and just try to figure out where we really feel about guys before the season. starts. Absolutely. How can you not love this shit? Number 15, another 26-year-old wide receiver, Mr. C.D. Lamb from the Dallas Cowboys. Same age as Justin Jefferson. A better situation,
Starting point is 00:55:21 but the talent is just you can't match Justin Jefferson, which is why we had to put him one spot above. The huge question for me going forward is will they extend George Pickens? If they do, then unfortunately C.D. is going to have to fall from this spot. As a we sift through like what makes sense for where to rank him. And that unfortunately kind of makes him the most fragile ranking on this list to me. That being said, let's throw the risks out and talk about the situation we have at hand. CD-Land was the Y-Receiver won just two years ago. He's only 26 years old.
Starting point is 00:55:54 He's attached to Dak Prescott, one of the top pocket passing quarterbacks for fantasy football production. And he is in the best fantasy football and offensive environment in the NFL. We talked about the Bengals just being. reckless with their money and because of that not being able to fill out a decent defense. What do you think Dallas is? Absolute money mismanagement. Malpractice. And because of that, I can't see this defense getting any better in the next few years. Yeah, they are trying. I don't know if they're making the right moves. We've seen what, I mean, at the trade deadline, they brought in some guys free agency. They've been making some moves on the defensive line as well. Like, we'll see how that all
Starting point is 00:56:34 goes. It's better. It's better. But like, it is better. But it's still, I don't know what they're going to do,
Starting point is 00:56:41 especially in the back half of that defense. The secondary is an absolute mess. They couldn't stop the run last year. That they have tried to address, though. So we'll see how that goes. I'm glad you brought up the Bengals,
Starting point is 00:56:53 though, because to me, C.D. kind of feels like Jamar Light. He's an elite receiver. That's a good comparison. Yeah, he's two elite receivers, but Jamar is better. Two great passing quarterbacks,
Starting point is 00:57:04 Jamar has the better one in Joe Burrow. Both terrible defenses. Shockingly, I think Jamar has the worst one, which says a lot about the Bengals' defense because the Cowboys' defense has been so bad. George Pickens, obviously, like you said, plays a big role. What's so funny is that if he's Jamar light, T. Higgins is George Pickens' light. You've got to flip them, honestly. Are the Cowboys just Target brand Cincinnati Bengals?
Starting point is 00:57:28 Oh, 100%. Absolutely. From top to bottom. that's a really bad a really bad position for the Cowboys to be in to be a target brand version of a team that hasn't made the playoffs in three years not good yeah but remember when we were playing get the gat and smoking cigars in the locker room
Starting point is 00:57:47 that was fun that was a fun year that's the most fun I've ever had watching a playoff team that wasn't my actual team yeah that was great all right you're ready to move on to number 16 yeah I'm good no more CD no more CD I'm excited for a mo Redraft in bestball, I think I'm going to be picking up a lot of CD this year because I do like him where he's price. I agree. I have not heard a lot of George Pickens' trade rumors like I thought we would by this point. But if he does end up getting dealt and doesn't play on the tag or get extended, then he's going to skyrocket.
Starting point is 00:58:18 100%. Number 16, a very polarizing player in 2025. Jalen Hertz, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, only 27 years old. your 16, my 18. I'm more excited about a quarterback we're going to talk about in a little bit. I will say this. I think I've been pretty negative
Starting point is 00:58:38 about Jalen Hertz as someone who used to be like a Jalen Hertz apologists. Last year was awful, horrendous, disgusting from the Philadelphia Eagles, and Jalen Hertz finishes the QB8. Kevin Petula, the artist behind the dumpster fire known as the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles offense, is off to greener pastures,
Starting point is 00:58:56 or pastures, whatever. And a 27-year-old Jalen Hertz might actually be a value right here. I couldn't put him higher than this, but, like, he's still very young. He's got the rushing floor, which is the exact thing we look for in, like, a higher rushing floor than a lot of guys that were ranking above him on this list. And so I think if you believe that this Philadelphia Eagles offense can turn around, like, I think Jalen Hertz is a great buy and a great pickup and startup drafts here. I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:59:26 I have like so many different like somewhat interconnected thoughts on Jalen Hertz that I don't even like nowhere to begin with him. But you're right. I think he's kind of a value because the panic meter seems like off the charts. This is exactly what I was saying though. It's figuring out when am I being a prisoner of the moment and when am I being cautious about something being like a real red flag. And right now I think we're all being a little bit of a prisoner of the moment of 2025 and forgetting what just happened in 2024. You mean when he was the Super Bowl MVP? When he was the Super Bowl MVP and was playing with Sequin Barclay who had 2,000 yards. And I'm like, Sequin Barclay's slowing down,
Starting point is 01:00:05 which theoretically means like Jalen Hertz is going to have to put more of the load on his back. Now, the A.J. Brown thing's interesting. If A.J. Brown gets moved, that changes a lot here. And we're going to talk a little bit about rookies next episode and, you know, what Philadelphia might do. But to me, like, I think where he's being valued right now, It's almost like we've all written off the Jalen Hertz experience as being over when he's 27 years old and he's at least in the middle of it, if not getting started. Yeah, I'm entirely with you.
Starting point is 01:00:35 I do think A.J. Brown affects things, though, because I mentioned earlier when we were talking about Drake May. The drum is really starting to be heavier that he will get dealt in April, likely to the Patriots. Not a guarantee, but you do have to kind of ask yourself, what will this offense look like with A.J. Brown? To that, I say, watch September last season when A.J. Brown was on the field and basically was not contributing. But no, that is definitely something to consider. The year is 2041 and Diane Orsini just reported that A.J. Brown is no longer happy with the Philadelphia Eagles and looking for a trade. He is reading a new book on the sideline about self-hederman. I saw someone say, Jill and Hearst just released a children's book and they were like,
Starting point is 01:01:22 AJ Brown has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever on the sideline. I kind of want to see him do that now. I know. Yeah, I mean, we'll see how that all shakes out, but yeah, people just keep panicking. I saw, like, Fantasy Pros put out a piece about how he is such a big dynasty sell now, because this is the last time you'll be able to get a haul. We're overdoing it. He's a buy at this point because everyone is panicking.
Starting point is 01:01:47 He has such a safe floor because of the running. He's had four top eight finish. over the last four years, including two top three finishes. Yeah. He's still just 27, like you mentioned. He's so young. He's so young. People were calling for his job less than the year after winning Super Bowl MVP.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Maybe we're, like, are you worried at all about his long-term career with the Eagles? No, but what's so funny to me is just like, is that not just like the most Philadelphia thing in the world? Like, if he played in any other city, they would just be like, we don't care, Jalen. You want us a Super Bowl last year. But Eagles fans are like, it's like week two and they're calling for his head. Like, he's going to be fine. I think he'll be fine. I don't know that I think of his upside quite as I once did.
Starting point is 01:02:32 But the rushing ability, the floor, I just talked about how good he's been. Toppy finishes like every single year. So I think he'll be fine. Yeah. Let's move on to number 17, the quarterback I'm way more fired up to talk about. Jackson Dart, quarterback for the New York. I have met 16, you haven't met 18, basically just a flip of where we're ranking him and Jalen Hertz. I really toyed with ranking him higher too. Honestly, just to spite you and put him above Jalen our overall rankings.
Starting point is 01:03:05 But I just couldn't put him above C.D. Lamb or Justin Jefferson for sure I couldn't put him above. I look at Drake May at number two and there's that little question in the back of my mind of what are the odds DART is in the top five next season? And a huge part of that's his age. He's going to be 23 this time next year. Don't get me wrong. He has a ton of stuff to improve on. So did Drake May. His passing stats weren't all that impressive.
Starting point is 01:03:32 2,200 yards in the air, 63% completion with 15 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Drake May had four more passing yards on 66% completion, 15 touchdowns, but had 10 interceptions. So you look at that, it's a pretty similar situation. Not to mention, he had better rushing stats. stats. Dart went for 487 yards and nine touchdowns as opposed to May's 421 and 2. Turn around is absolutely possible. And I look at the situation we talked about with May, with Caleb. They get a new fantastic coach to come in and kind of like changed the offense,
Starting point is 01:04:06 get the most out of them. Here comes John Harbaugh, who, if only he had had some young phenom rushing quarterback a few years ago that he got the most out of and turned into a fantasy football superstar. I can't think of that many knocks on. the potential in the ceiling for Jackson Dart besides this little feeling in my gut of the human food poisoning that is Matt Nagy. And I can't shake it, but I'm going to try to shake it
Starting point is 01:04:30 and pretend Matt Nagy's not there, and I'm just so excited about Jackson Dart. You are a Matt Nagy hater, my friend. I don't believe you know. Whatever the opposite of an apologist is, I'm that for Matt Nagy. I'm a hateer. I'm a hate that because I'm a hater. That's the opposite.
Starting point is 01:04:48 Jackson Dart is the first guy on this list. I think you would agree with this, even though you're more hot and bothered. He's the first guy in this list that could, I think, truly be a complete and entire bust in Dynasty startup draft this year. But to like draw back to the beginning of the episode, like, I'm a home run swinger. I'm like, I'm hitting the power button on whatever baseball video game. Like, I'm trying to swing for the fences. I want the Grand Slam. I'm going for the Jackson Dart types.
Starting point is 01:05:13 But I completely understand the floor is not there at all. And this could end horrifically. We just saw him got like helicoptered on the sidelines last year. Like talk about a blue tent merchant and Puka. Like Jackson Dart, that could be his new retirement home next year. He is the quarter. We had to fill out a fantasy team of just blue tent guys.
Starting point is 01:05:33 Jackson Dartett quarterback. For Seaman Blot. Jailadal. Woody Marks at the running back. Woody Marks. That would be a fun little project to work on. That's a good use of our time. I hear you with the upside.
Starting point is 01:05:47 Do you want a little bit of a little quick? we hear. I can... Sure. I'll be on my soapbox here. I hear you with the upside. It's absolutely there. I love you dearly, Mitch. We've been super aligned. I feel like this whole episode even more so than normal. So I'm going to be a little contrary in here because I feel like I have to be sometimes. And this is really directed at the whole fantasy community, not just you.
Starting point is 01:06:08 But we need to calm down with these Drake May comparisons. And I will be the first to say, I get it. I fully understand why it's happening. both had promising Ricky years on Doxateeens, right running ability, armtelling flashes, blah, blah, blah. I was the first one in this show to compare the two. A couple months ago, I said,
Starting point is 01:06:27 Yeah, you worry. I think Jackson Dart could be the next Drake May. And I meant it, and I still do. So I fully get it. But I think because of what Drake May did last year, we are pricing Jackson Dart as if he will do what Drake May did. And if this were, if Drake May didn't do what he did last year, if this were a different year.
Starting point is 01:06:48 I think Jackson Dart would be more appropriately ranked, particularly in redraft, but also in dynasty, where we're acknowledging the level of risk. Like, and I brought this name up again before two, and I don't think this will be the same thing. But like two years ago, Anthony Richardson was ranked this high in dynasty startup. Yeah. And we know how that went.
Starting point is 01:07:07 So you have to marry the ceiling with the floor. I agreed. Upside is king. Swing for the fences. You should. But especially in a dynasty league, you're stuck with your pick for years to come. You do want to consider what could go wrong.
Starting point is 01:07:21 So with all that said, I still have him at 18. It's not like I have him like buried at like 40. I think he's worth a second round pick in the dynasty startup for Superflex, but consider the risks, consider the downside. But I will acknowledge, you're right.
Starting point is 01:07:36 He could be the top five quarterback for the next like 10 years. And you just have like a Drake mayor or a Lamar Jackson type of player for a decade. that's pretty sick to think about that potential. I think if you can't stomach a whole lot of risk, this is not the pick for you. But I have two things to say back to what you were saying.
Starting point is 01:07:54 I think for one, I do want to clarify. I'm comparing him to Drake May from a fantasy football perspective, not a straight up NFL talent perspective. And like accomplishment-wise, like I don't think the Giants are going to the Super Bowl next year. But the other point I want to make here is that I think his dynasty price makes more sense than his redraft. You talk about drafting him a little bit closer to his ceiling.
Starting point is 01:08:16 And for me, that's kind of the issue it's becoming in redraft. We're drafting him closer like the quarterback seven, which scares the hell out of me. Right here we're talking about in a super flex league, him being the 17th guy and he's 22 years old. Like, to me, you're banking on a career of greatness. Where in redraft, you're drafting him so high banking on this year being the breakout. So I do think this is a little bit more fair of a price tag. But I also agree and understand, like, yeah, we were drafting Anthony Richardson this high. And you never know what's going to happen when you've got a sample size this small.
Starting point is 01:08:52 It's not always going to go the Drake May route. Yeah. And full disclosure, I think I mentioned this earlier too. I only have two spots lower than you. So I am like not super out, you know, compared to you. But I just, buyers beware. Oh, my God. Can you imagine how high we're going to be drafting Fernando Mendoza in a year if Jackson Dart does this?
Starting point is 01:09:11 literally. He's going to be out of control. But, you know, if he busts, then Fernando will be lower, you know, even if he had promising work here. It's just the way our fantasy brains work. Yeah. Let's move on to number 18. This is a guy that I think both of us are going to agree.
Starting point is 01:09:28 It's like, I want to rank him higher. I don't know what we're doing, why he's always this low. Amonara St. Brown, wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, somehow only 26 years old still, and has been the wide receiver three for the past three seasons. He is literally Mr. Consistency, not the flashiest pick, but he is so safe. And to say he doesn't have upside is ludicrous. We've been having conversations about top three receivers with Puka, Jamar, and Justin Jefferson. Meanwhile, this guy's just doing it every year.
Starting point is 01:09:57 Every single year. It's incredible. We talked about it in a redraft episode. Like, why do we keep ranking him this low? And we're kind of doing it again. We did it again. He's still just 26. You mentioned those wide receiver three finishes every year.
Starting point is 01:10:10 he has outperformed his ADP every single year in fantasy. Crazy. Which is insane because he's been a first round pick for multiple years now. And he still outperforms his ADP relative to his position every single year. So he's such a safe bet in Dynasty. He actually had PFF's third highest receiving grade last year among all wide receivers. Wow. This guy loves being ranked third.
Starting point is 01:10:35 Yeah. My God. Always number three. But he's been top six in that same metric every year. year the last four years, which just shows like how talented he is. We talked about how he's not like this, you know, the sexiest or the most appealing athletic pick, which is true to a large extent, but he is an insane athlete super productive. So super state pick. I think you're getting production for years to come. I mentioned I'm a little bit worried about the lines long term,
Starting point is 01:10:59 but not enough to dissuade me from yeah, Amundra on the second round or anything like that. So I think, I think there's a drop off, especially for floor in particular after. son God. I think this is the last guy before we see a tear drop to guys that don't have nearly the safety of a guy like Amonrah, St. Brown. I agree. If you're new to fantasy
Starting point is 01:11:22 football, this is the perfect guy to pick that all your league mates will go, oh, great pick. Great pick. No, like, no matter where you take him. No, literally. And then it's like, oh, man, that's such a good pick. And it's like, why did none of you take him? Yeah. Because that's what we do every year with Amman Ra. Every year with Amman Ra.
Starting point is 01:11:38 All right. Number 19. I think this guy's a little bit less exciting. I had like a hard time ranking him, but ironically, we ended up ranking him in the same spot. Both number 19 on our boards, Brock Purdy quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He's 26 years old, which was a real tiebreaker for me on where to rank him. He's kind of similar to Amin Ra in the sense that I don't know if it's the draft capital or what, but we've just been underrating him his whole career. He's unbelievably talented. He's tied to Kyle Shanahan. They're hopefully going to bring in this new era of weapons now that we've been. We've got to we're done with Brandon Ayyuk, Debo Samuel, Juan Jennings,
Starting point is 01:12:14 and frankly probably Christian McCaffrey in the next two or so years. So it's going to be a somewhat clean slate for Brock Purdy in the coming years, but he's very talented. I think that offense is going to work no matter who you put around him. I think he just lacks the ceiling that excites you the same way as some of the other guys. Definitely. Definitely the lowest ceiling guy of any of the quarterbacks we talked about. to this point, which is why I think we have them this slow. But you're right, we continue to underrate him
Starting point is 01:12:46 overall. He has been stunningly good. He's struggled a little bit with injuries, which is, I think, somewhat been contributed to the perception of him not being like elite, which, I mean, he is an elite, I guess, but he has been stunningly good. He was last year after returning from injury, he was the quarterback four overall from weeks 11 to 70. Wow. So very good. He's been top 12 in points per game every single year. year he's been in the league. And again, he's not always playing. But when he is, he is top 12 and points per game. So you are getting a quarterback one. And, you know, especially in a super flex league, that's worth a lot. He's still young. He's only 26 years old. He runs the ball more than I think
Starting point is 01:13:27 most people give him credit for. 100%. Sneaky athleticism, deceptive speed. You know what I mean? All the... I wonder why we're saying that. Every cliche. And we talk about situations. He's tied to Kyle Shanahan for the long haul, which is so beautiful. I love that he is tied to Kyle Shanahan. So I think he's worth a top 20 pick. Doesn't have the ceiling like you mentioned, but he's definitely worth grabbing into QB in Superflex leagues very high. I can make the argument in both situations here.
Starting point is 01:14:01 Either you drafted a quarterback early at the 19th pick, who would you have drafted? Maybe a Joe Burrow, someone in that range. And then you come back and it's like, okay, let's just get a secure quarterback too. Or you make the argument of being like, hey, I grabbed Jamar early in the draft, and now I'm like, shoot, I need a quarterback.
Starting point is 01:14:18 Like, he's pretty safe. I should feel pretty good about a low-end quarterback one at the very least with Brock Purdy. So I think 19 is just the right spot for him. I agree. I think it's very appropriately ranked. Isn't Superflex so fun? We're ranking Brock Pretty a pick after Romeross, St. Brown.
Starting point is 01:14:32 Yeah, crazy. And a pick before this next guy who's getting so much more hype. Oh, perfect segue, my friend. Perfect segue into number 20, wide receiver for Jackson Dart and the New York Giants, Malik neighbors, also 22 years old. I want to apologize. I butchered a stat earlier with Jackson Smith and Jigba. I said he had a 34.9% target share.
Starting point is 01:14:52 He actually had a 35.8. The second highest target share in the past four years was 24 Malik Neighbors, who had 34.91. An outrageous target share. That was him playing with Daniel Jones. He played with Russell Wilson to begin this year. we've got a small sample size on him, which is admittedly the risk here. I think both these 22-year-olds out of New York
Starting point is 01:15:15 have a lot of risk tied to them for that very reason. We haven't seen too much. But what I will say is he is unbelievably talented coming out of college. He absolutely dominated his rookie year, and to start last year before the injury, he was lighting the world on fire. He was playing with Russell Wilson.
Starting point is 01:15:33 He hasn't even had a chance to play with Jackson Dart, who I personally am taking a stand that I think is going to make a jump here in his second season. So I absolutely love this for Malik Neighbors. I think you are paying a premium on him, of course, because he's a young, talented receiver out of LSU that a lot of people argued was more talented than Marvin Harrison Jr., but didn't have the cachet with the name.
Starting point is 01:15:58 I'm very high on him. I understand the risks, but I think he's going to come back from injury, and I think him and Dart are going to absolutely light the NFC East on fire. obligatory mat-nagie talk whatever yeah i think you you said it very well like his counterpart and jackson dart it's this pick is really all about upside i will not give you the same uh lecture i did about dart though because i'm in on the upside of malik neighbors the sky is the limit he feels like a breakout waiting to happen he feels like a guy this time next year we could be ranking up with like the jmars and jsns and the pukas he has that kind of upside so young which he's
Starting point is 01:16:36 obviously is super valuable in dynasty formats. To illustrate how much boom potential he has to, which I'm glad you brought up, all of this he has been doing with nobody yet quarterback. Russell Wilson a couple games last year and, um, like freaking Drew Locke was starting games the year before. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:16:55 Yeah. Daniel Jones and it's just been kind of a mess. But in his limited sample size of his career, which is basically three and a half games plus a full season, so a little bit over one year. and full point PPR, which usually we talk about half point PPR on the show, but I'm going to cheat and do PPR here.
Starting point is 01:17:12 He has breached 20 fantasy points six times, 25 fantasy points four times, and 35 fantasy points twice in his short career. Talk about boom potential. He now gets potentially the franchise quarterback. Hopefully it can become more consistent. We kind of already seen the breakout because he's proved he can do it. We just haven't seen it.
Starting point is 01:17:34 on a large sample size yet. But I think that is to come. He's such a complete receiver. He beats man coverage. He beats zone coverage. He has an incredible catch radius for someone his size who's not all that big. Not proven like you mentioned, but he's a breakout waiting to happen. Easily a top 10 dynasty receiver for me for sure.
Starting point is 01:17:56 It's so hard not to look at that age and the flashes of what we've seen and not get like so excited about the next 10 years. years of Malik neighbors. Yeah. I, as somebody who hasn't been quite as convinced about the Giants as you, I will fully admit. I'm super excited about Malik's future. Let's move on to another 22-year-old we are extremely excited about on our show. That is Ashton Genty running back for the Las Vegas Raiders. He was number 21 on both of our boards.
Starting point is 01:18:27 I want to plant my flag that I think after this year we are going to be talking about Genti in that top three conversation with Gibbs and Bijon. I think what he did last season was so impressive just based on all of the issues with the offensive line and like what he was able to do after contact. And we've talked about it at nauseam so I don't want to waste anybody's time, but we're going to see Fernando Mendoza come in. We're seeing new play callers. Gino Smith is out of the building.
Starting point is 01:18:53 I think we're going to see a stronger offense and better game scripts for Ashton Jente and hopefully a short up offensive line that he can run behind where he's not going to have like one of the worst yards before contact in the NFL. Yeah, it feels like it's all coming together. You've been super vocal about it, like you said, and not that I needed much convincing, but you have been convincing me as well. You talked about the yards after contact and everything last year.
Starting point is 01:19:19 He was quite literally on the worst team in football last year. Yeah. The offensive line had the sixth worst run blocking grade in the league, according to pro football focus. But he was still the running back 13. he had the eighth most yards after contact. Not elite production, but super respectable, all things considered. You mentioned you get Mendoza in there.
Starting point is 01:19:41 You get Clint Kubiak, who I think is a really great offensive mastermind to run this offense. You bring in Tyler Linderbaum, short up that offensive line. It just feels like things are going in the right direction. I think you're completely right. There is a very, very real world we're ranking him up with Bijon and Gibbs in a year's time. But for now, currently, I do think.
Starting point is 01:20:01 there is a seismic drop-off in Dynasty after Bijan and Gibbs, clearly. Sure, sure, sure. There's a reason it's been a while. You know, we've talked about a lot of players since we've talked about Bijan and Gibbs. There is a drop-off. So I think after those top two running backs go, there should be a run on quarterbacks and receivers. But once it is time for another running back to be taken,
Starting point is 01:20:22 I do agree it should absolutely be Ashti-Jenty. Yeah, I'm with you. That is the point to make is like, I think he'll be in the top three conversation, but there is no guarantee of that. And so, like, you have to rank him much lower than those two other guys, even though 22 years old, again, it's hard not to get really excited about Ashton Genty. Definitely.
Starting point is 01:20:43 I think he's got a very bright career ahead of him. All right, here we go. Number 22, Trevor Lawrence, quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars, 26 years old. I have to say, I was a little bit surprised to have him ranked in the same spot as you because I've been a little bit higher for redraft. But I think that's, like, the great equalizer in Dynasty. is age and situation and, you know, when you project things out further, it's a lot easier to get on the same page. Yeah, I think that's what it is. I do still think you are overall higher
Starting point is 01:21:10 on Trevor than me, not by a ton, but I do think you're higher on Trevor. I think I'm a little bit more aggressive at getting received, or quarterbacks rather, early in Superflex. So I think that's part of the balancing out as well. Yeah, 100%. I mean, last year, he was a QB9 price tag for redraft. He was the QB4 on the year, but from week 10 on, he was, he was, was the quarterback one. And I've said it before, I just think this Liam Cohen offense is the real deal. I think it's a genuine success.
Starting point is 01:21:37 I think we are going to see it be a success moving on. I think just the whole coaching carousel of last offseason was everything it was promised. And we saw three teams with all these offensive struggles really start figuring it out. And maybe it's just a part of me that wants to believe that that can be prescriptive moving on. But it felt like it. It didn't feel fluky.
Starting point is 01:21:59 And we've also talked. about Trevor Lawrence just having an abundance of weapons. It sounds like Brian Thomas Jr. is most likely going to stay because frankly, I don't think many people want to pay for him. You've got Parker Washington, the best wide receiver in the NFL. You've also got Jacoby Myers there. And so for me, I just think there's a lot of reasons to be excited about Trevor Lawrence with young weapons, a great new head coach, and he's only 26 years old. And it wasn't so long ago that he was the golden boy coming out of Clemson that we were all, the prince who was promised. basically coming into the NFL.
Starting point is 01:22:33 I'm going to put you on the spot real quick. Okay. Better, or not better, but your favorite all-time receiver between McColl Hartman and Parker Washington. Nicole, Parker Washington has got work to do, but he's got potential.
Starting point is 01:22:46 I've been considering replacing my games of names jersey with a Parker Washington jersey. Ooh. I don't know what it's going to take to do it, but probably like, probably won too many Coors Lights and one too many best ball drafts a knight and my credit card.
Starting point is 01:23:02 That's what it's going to take. Does he have to catch a game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl and overtime to pass McColl on your all-time list? No, he can do it way before that. Fair enough. Yeah, I agree, though. I'll joke just side. I mean, I'm in on Leon Cohen.
Starting point is 01:23:20 Cohen, I think he is the real deal. I'm a little bit more skeptical than you about the trajectory that Lawrence is on or that he's set for himself in 2025, We saw the breakout kind of in late 2020, and it obviously didn't stay that way. The trajectory kind of took a spiral for a couple years. But overall, I agree. I think this feels more real. I feel like Trevor Lawrence is, I mean, there were questions a year ago if he was even going to be in Jacksonville after that past year,
Starting point is 01:23:50 if he didn't pick it up and play well. But he did. So I do feel good about it. If there is one thing I definitely think is fluky, it was the rushing touchdowns last year. He had nine. 100%. That cannot continue. So that's why I don't think like that quarterback won upside the second half of the year.
Starting point is 01:24:06 Like I don't think that's sustainable. But he still does run the ball, which still gives him a floor. So he's a guy. Once we get into this range of quarterbacks, the way I think about it is in a superflex format, would I start this guy every single week and not think twice about it? And Trevor Lawrence, the answer is I think pretty easily yes. And he's only 26 years old. So that's worth a lot in the Superflex league.
Starting point is 01:24:31 He's our 12th quarterback ranked here. And so I think you're exactly right. We're Superflex. It's not even a debate. And we kind of talked about this earlier, but we've moved into the range where in one quarterback leagues, it's a little harder to get so excited about this guy because there's better options.
Starting point is 01:24:47 But in Superflex, like he profiles exactly as a low-end quarterback one, but a really high-end quarterback too. Exactly. And that is worth so much again. I mean, we keep harbored on it, but quarterbacks just score more points. And if you can get a guy that's going to score more points than, you know, the receiver, the running back someone else is taking. And he's only 26 years old.
Starting point is 01:25:09 It could play another decade. That's worth a lot. 100%. At number 23, another 26-year-old quarterback, Bo Nix from the Denver Broncos. We each had him ranked at our number 24, which I think this whole 23 to 25 range just from here on out gets a little bit murky. I just have one question. Why do you hate Bo Nix? I do not hate Ful Nix.
Starting point is 01:25:32 I have him ranked at the same spot. People say that and I'm like, we've seen that in comments of you like, why do you hate Bo Nix? And then I look at our rankings. Fantasy Pros has him at number 18 and we have him at our number 23. So I'm like, maybe we do hate Bo Nix. Maybe we, I just think he's like easily like the least sexy guy in this list. I don't mean that literally. He's a, he's a handsome guy. No, he's a great looking guy. He's a great looking guy. I'm not judging anybody's physical looks. But From a fantasy pop-pop perspective,
Starting point is 01:25:59 it just doesn't feel like a sexy for lack of a better word pick. But he's been like a top 10 quarterback each of his first two seasons. You know what part of it is too is he feels like he's 32 years old
Starting point is 01:26:10 despite being on his rookie contract still? He's only 26, obviously. He's not even close to 32, but 26 still is really old for a guy that just finished up his second season. Absolutely. Because he came out of Oregon so old. But I mean,
Starting point is 01:26:27 as much, is like we hate Bo Nix, even though we don't hate Bo Nix. I admit there's a lot to be excited about. We keep talking about guys tied to good situations. He's tied to Sean Payton for the next decade plus probably. That's really great. He runs the ball, not a ton, but like last year he had 356 rushing yards, five touchdowns. So there's rushing ability there that it gives him that safe floor.
Starting point is 01:26:49 I think what it boils down to, I'm curious to see if you agree, is it doesn't feel like he has any, like, top five. upside because it's exactly my note on him. I think we look at like I was talking about Drake May and Caleb Williams being so similar out of that draft class where they made these huge leaps in their second seasons and Bo Nix finished as the QB9 his rookie year. He finishes the QB7 this year. And this goes for all these guys by the way. It's like we didn't really have Jaden Daniels. We didn't really have Lamar Jackson. It's like what is that going to equate to next year? and the benefit I'll give him is that the situation should remain unchanged, like you said.
Starting point is 01:27:29 They literally have done nothing. They've done nothing. So it's like, okay, there's a great chance you could get a guy who finishes somewhere between like the quarterback 12 and 7. But the problem is the situation remains unchanged. And so like, is it going to get any better? Probably not. And so I guess for me, it's like he's 26 years old.
Starting point is 01:27:52 I don't have a ton of confidence that he's going to blossom into a top five, six quarterback. But I can say all this and still be like maybe we have him a little low. In a lot of ways, I rank him very similarly to Brock Purdy, where I think you've got a great shot at getting a low-end quarterback one. I just, I don't think you're ever going to wake up one morning and be like, I'm so fired up to put bow necks in my lineup. Yeah, like, for him to have like a top like four or five finish, I think it would take a lot like a year like last year where there were some injuries maybe
Starting point is 01:28:24 or also maybe there's just a weird fluky year where he throws a ton of touchdowns. Like we saw with Stafford last year and Baker, yeah, Baker the year before. Exactly. Like he could have a year like that and sure it'd be like the quarterback four. But like that's not something I want to bet on. And I'm going to be very careful how I phrase this because I don't want to upset people. The bow leavers. The bow leavers out there.
Starting point is 01:28:46 I have no hate for the bow leavers. I think we have come. kind of seen Bo Nix at his best already. And let me be very clear. Let me be very clear. That does not mean I think he will be worse. I don't think I don't think that he's going to hit this downward to directory from now on. I just think it's kind of a plateau for the next however many years.
Starting point is 01:29:06 That's kind of my argument. Yeah. I think you've just got a low-end quarterback one. And there's nothing wrong with drafting him here for that. But yeah, I completely agree. Yeah. And it kind of goes back to what we talked about with Trevor Lawrence, who I do think has more upside, which is why I have him lower, but Bo Nick's lower. But at the end of the day, the reason
Starting point is 01:29:25 it's so worth having him this high is because you will start him every week. And he is 26. So that is, we keep harping on it, but that is worth a lot in a dynasty four, and a super flex dynasty format. Yeah. It might be a slightly disrespectful ranking, but I don't think it's like preposterous our reasoning. No, I think we have it right. I mean, of course I do, but I'll be honest. I feel like we have this right. Yeah, spot on. All right, let's talk about a guy at number 24
Starting point is 01:29:52 that we've actually had an opportunity to talk about a few times this off season. That's Drake London, wide receiver from the Atlanta Falcons, 24 years old. I don't know why for me, it's like crazy how young he is. Yeah, he came out young.
Starting point is 01:30:04 I absolutely love Drake London, but Atlanta, we have a Tua problem. And I'm praying to God that he stays having Michael Pennix as his quarterback, and I'm going to let you read off here, Michael Penick's stats again. We talked about this many episodes back in our Y receiver rankings, but I think this should speak volumes about the connection that London and Pennix have.
Starting point is 01:30:26 Thank you for giving me this opportunity, because I love these stats. This is, this is some of my favorite. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. I have to put a little asterisk on this because we got some feedback the last time I went over these numbers, that it's unfair to compare London's numbers with Cousins versus Pennix, because Drake London didn't play a lot of last year down the stretch when Kirk Cousins was was playing. These are points per game metrics. I only am pulling stats here for when Drake Linden did play. So the injury stuff, at least when he was inactive, that's sort of beside the point. So I'll try to go through this pretty quickly because we have covered it before, but
Starting point is 01:31:02 over the last two years, Drake London has played 17 games with Kurt Cousins and 13 with Michael Pennix. In those 17 games, he has averaged 5.1 receptions per game with Cousins, 6.8 with Pennix. 60.5 yards per game with Cousins, 96.8 with Pennix, 0.47 touchdowns per game with Cousins, 0.67 with Pennix. You can make sense of that.
Starting point is 01:31:24 I know you can't have a fractional touchdowns, but long story short, he scores more touchdowns with Pennix. And then my favorite one, top 12 fantasy finish percentage, 46.2% of the time with Pennix, 17.6% of the time with Cousins. Those are crazy splits.
Starting point is 01:31:38 Like, truly insane splits. Drake London is elite with Michael Pennix. And I'm not even like a big Penix believer. But the numbers don't lie. He's been phenomenal with Michael Panx. I think it's that last number that really matters because we throw so many numbers around in fantasy football, but like to distill it down to how often
Starting point is 01:31:54 does he finish as a wide receiver one? Almost 50% of the time with Penix, almost a fifth of the time with Kirk Cousins. And so my fear here is two things. I love Drake London. And if you tell me he's got Michael Pennix as his quarterback for the next five years, I'm so fired up and I would
Starting point is 01:32:10 probably move him up this list. The reason why he's here for me is now two is in the mix and the reports are already saying is going to be a true quarterback competition at camp, which is yuck. But also, even if Michael Penix wins, this just gives me a lot of pause and fear about like if there's going to be quarterback turnover. And like, we've just seen so many great wide receivers get stuck in these like quarterback turnstile situations on their team and they can't build any consistency or rapport with these guys. I just said it earlier. Like, I'm not a wide receiver's quarterback proof guy.
Starting point is 01:32:44 I'm certainly not saying that about Drake London. So if you could promise me he's going to be with Michael Penix, I'm super, super high on him. If you're telling me it's going to be two of this year, or it's going to be Michael Pennix by a hair, and they're already debating whether or not he's going to be quarterback next year, it's a lot harder from a dynasty outlook for me to be excited about Drake London. Yeah, it's funny you mentioned like these great receiver talents
Starting point is 01:33:07 with just a carousel at quarterback. Look at the same draft class, Garrett Wilson. With the Jets. Perfect example. It's so frustrating. To play a little bit of devil's advocate, and it's kind of half-baked, admittedly, but I think there's some truth behind this, despite those stats I just shared, which are very telling, part of me feels like they're almost more anti-K-K cousins than pro-Pemmix in a sense,
Starting point is 01:33:33 which the good news is we know Kirk Cousins not throwing Drake-Lond in the ball anymore. That is set in stone. Yeah. And I don't want to sound like a Tua apologist because I'm certainly not. I feel like I've been pretty critical of Tua in the past. But just devil's advocate, he did support both Tyreek Hill and Jail and Jail Waddle. I think it was 22, maybe it was 23. I think it was 22, like fantasy ecstasy.
Starting point is 01:33:59 Feels 30 years ago at this point. Feels like that was so long ago. It feels like it was like a div. That's what got Tua paid, which was obviously a huge mistake. but um why what happened not a lot not a lot of good
Starting point is 01:34:13 um but you're right the quarterback thing is like I think what's mostly holding me back because we know how good Dratlin it is and he I think he might be the best contested catch guy in the NFL he's that yeah he's up there
Starting point is 01:34:26 Mount Rushmore of current NFL players I think for for sure is that Patriots game last year where he was just consistently mossing oh my God was like tough to watch but you're right like a guy like
Starting point is 01:34:40 Malik neighbors who we have higher I feel so much better about the ceiling because of the potential of Jackson Dart and that's what Drake London is missing here yeah I think this is a great pick I think he makes sense here
Starting point is 01:34:53 and honestly you're easing my worries a little bit I still wouldn't feel great with Tua but I do think Drake London's so talented and he's 24 years old and like you said like Tua was able to support two wide receivers. So it's like, could he do this with Drake London?
Starting point is 01:35:12 Probably. And yeah, by the time Kurt Cousins was playing with London, Kirk Cousins was as washed as it gets. It's just horrible. Now they got two lefty quarterbacks too, which I don't know if there's anything. Yeah, I think it's just fun. Something about Atlanta and those lefty quarterbacks.
Starting point is 01:35:27 True, Vic. I mean, I think about that. That's very strange, but kind of funny. All right, let's move on our final pick number 25. is Jordan Love quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, 27 years old. We almost put a different Jay Love at this spot, but I think both of us agreed that we can't really put him in a top 25 until he gets drafted and we know the landing place.
Starting point is 01:35:54 Jordan Love was a tough guy to take a broader look at his outlook. He is not going to be a league winning quarterback for you. This gets right back into the Brock Purdy Bow Nix conference. conversation. But I do think he's a high-end quarterback, too, with debatable low-end quarterback one upside. And sometimes having a piece like this, like locked in is what can allow you to get different and weird and take those bigger risks elsewhere. And then just for pluses for Jordan Love, he's attached to Matt LaFleur and likely he'll be with Green Bay through at least 2028. And I think if I'm here in drafts and I don't have a quarterback, this is like it. This is like
Starting point is 01:36:33 where you have to draw the line of being like, this is the last possible guy. you can lock in as your QB1 or you're truly in a rebuild. I think at the 25th pick, though, I would rather this be, if I'm taking Jordan Love, my second quarterback. Like, I'm imagining a world where you drafted Josh Allen, and then you're coming back around, you took like Drake London and now Jordan Love. I think that'd be a great start to a draft.
Starting point is 01:36:57 Great start to a draft. If you locked him as your quarterback, too, I think it's a lot to be excited about. I think you're in a scary spot if he's your QB1. Yeah, I would agree with that. I think you put it really well. Like he's not a league winner, but he's like the ideal quarterback to set it and forget it.
Starting point is 01:37:11 Like if you have like Josh Allen and Jordan Love or, you know, Drake May and Jordan Love and you can just set and forget. That's really nice. He doesn't run the ball a lot, which is a big part of the reason that rushing upside isn't there. He to me, I think is like the biggest differential in rankings
Starting point is 01:37:29 between one QB and two QB. Because in one QB... Yeah. I have no interest at all in one QB. Same. He's like, at least in redraft, he's like a late round flyer, I think, in one QB leagues. But all of a sudden we're ranking him as a top 25 dynasty asset for Superflex league. So he's like the biggest beneficiary ranking wise of Superflex formats.
Starting point is 01:37:51 But we can at least feel safe about him, which is why I think he is worth the pick, 27 years old, like you mentioned. And he's never had an elite receiver. It's always been kind of like an Everyone Eats style. Yeah. with Matt Lafleur in these offenses, but he is still finished top 12 in passer reading every year the last three years. Wow. Which just shows like he is a good passer.
Starting point is 01:38:13 He makes good decisions most of the time. He is, he kind of has weirdly some Brett Farbenham. Yeah. He'll just implode for like a quarter and throw a couple picks, but for the most part, he makes good decisions. He's a good pastor. He's reliable. He's safe.
Starting point is 01:38:25 And I think worth the pick. I completely agree. I think this is just, this is where you've got to rank him. And he's going to make sense in some lineup constructions and not make sense and others. Yeah, I think that's a really good way to put it as well.
