This is the biggest thing that changed my life and allowed me to become a millionaire quickly, to then scale multiple companies, to exit out of companies, to sell companies, to buy companies, to grow to $10 million before the age of 30, to create all my celebrity partnerships.
It's this one thing that I'm going to talk about in today's show.
So what is it?
Well, it's the power of connections.
It's the power of networking, and it's the power of connections. It's the power of networking
and it's the power of masterminds. If you didn't know, over the last six, seven years, I added it
up. I've spent a million dollars on masterminds. Yes, a million dollars in the last few years,
but I've probably made back around $5 million when I track it to direct revenue, partnerships,
and opportunities that have come out of those masterminds. So would you, the question is, would you spend a million dollars to hopefully make $5 million back?
My name's Rudy Moore, host of Living the Red Life podcast, and I'm here to change the way you see your life
in your earpiece every single week.
If you're ready to start living the red life, ditch the blue pill, take the red pill,
join me in Wonderland and change your life.
Welcome back to another episode of Living the Red Life. Today, I'm going to talk to you about
mentorship, about partnerships, about building a board of directors and building this bulletproof
network that's going to support you and make you successful in what I call my millionaire secret.
Okay, this is the biggest thing that changed my life and allowed me to become a millionaire quickly,
to then scale multiple companies, to exit out of companies, to sell companies, to buy companies,
to grow to $10 million before the age of 30, to create all my celebrity partnerships.
It's this one thing that I'm going to talk about in today's show. So what is it? Well,
it's the power of connections. It's the power of networking and
it's the power of masterminds. If you didn't know, over the last six, seven years, I added it up. I've
spent a million dollars on masterminds. Yes, a million dollars in the last few years. But I've
probably made back around five million dollars when I track it to direct revenue, partnerships
and opportunities that have come out of those masterminds. So would you, the question is, would you spend a million dollars to hopefully make $5 million
back and also to get a wealth of knowledge and a Rolodex of amazing connections that
could change your life, right?
The answer is probably yes for most of you.
However, most of you aren't paying to be in the right rooms.
I now pay $5,000, $10,000 for one dinner, one one-hour dinner, or maybe two hours if I'm lucky, with the right people.
I now give away hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of shares, potentially, to build a board of directors with the right people.
I pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for some of my celebrity partnerships with advances, right?
Most celebrities, like when they have book deals and such, they have an advance, right? So a major
celebrity might get approached by a big publisher and get a million dollar advance to write the book,
right? So it's the same with the celebrity partnerships that we run here, right? So you've
got to look at, hey, what am I doing right now? Where am I
putting my money? And am I investing enough of my money in relationships? The answer is probably
not. And it's my millionaire secret that has got me to that status very quickly before the age of
30. And it's been responsible for everything I've achieved, right? And obviously not the only thing,
but a big part of what I've achieved. And, obviously, I've made some life-changing friends and connections and business partners
that will be with me for the next 10, 20, 30 years.
What I want you guys to do is look at what am I doing right now.
What am I doing to get out of my bedroom, to get out of my home office, to get out of
my house, especially during COVID and after COVID?
What am I doing right now to get with of my house, especially during COVID and after COVID, what am I doing right now
to get with the right people? Okay. And I encourage you any spare money you have,
right? If you're making, you know, if you're successful with a million dollar company,
instead of taking all that savings, right? The hundreds of thousands of profit you might be
making and putting it in all real estate, all stock, invest some of it in yourself. If you speak to
many billionaires, the number one investment you can always make is yourself. You're always going
to get a higher ROI on yourself than external investments such as stock and real estate and
stuff, okay? So if you're listening to this and you're not putting money in yourself, right,
that's a problem. That's a big problem. If you're putting your money in a bank account, that's another problem. And if you're putting all your money into external investments
instead of yourself, that's a problem because you're actually hindering your own growth. And
I don't want you to do that. I want you to figure out how do I become successful by investing in
myself, okay? And of course, some money can go into real estate, some money goes back in the
business, some money can go into investment estate. Some money goes back in the business. Some money can go into investment opportunities.
Right.
But some money needs to go back into masterminds, into mentorship, into coaching programs.
OK, and what I encourage you to do is look at which different departments of life or
business that you really need to double down on, that you really want to focus on and you
want to get really good at and then invest in masterminds and coaching programs and with people, with
experts, with gurus that are obviously good and proven and well-known, but have an area that
you're weak in, right? A good example is I knew for me to get to a billionaire, which is one of
my goals, there was going to be a lot around buying companies, selling companies, mergers, strategic acquisitions, add-ons of companies. So I built my board of
directors and included two people that are really good at that. They've done it for many years. So
Kevin Harrington from the TV show Shark Tank, one of the original sharks, and then a person called
Roland Frazier, who many of you probably know, right? He's bought, sold and been part of hundreds of mergers and acquisitions, right?
And Kevin has done over 500 deals in his life, right?
So I was finding like, how do I find experts and authorities in that space that I'm not
just going to write a paycheck or join their mastermind, but I'm actually going to bring
them into the business and give them shares instead. So they're incentivized to stay with me through my growth,
right? And they are more incentivized to be part of this than all the other people that pay for
coaching or consulting, right? So and obviously, I'm also in masterminds and join programs,
when it's something I want to focus on. So a good example is I've paid $1,000 for 20 minutes with
some Hollywood producers, because a big goal of mine this year, and over the next few years is
mainstream TV, right and movies. So I've done that. We want to blow our YouTube channel up to
over a million people over the next year or two. So one thing I did was pay $10,000. And it worked
out $1,000 an hour for a call with a YouTube strategist that knows
YouTube well, right? So I'm always looking at like, hey, here are my gaps. Here's what I want to do.
Here's what I want to work on. And then it's like, how do I invest in the right people,
people that have done it to get there faster? And I teach my team this and I actually
kind of get at them and tell them off if they're not doing this,
I say, hey, the level we're at now and where we're trying to go, you've got to look at the who,
not the how. So if you get to an instance where you're trying to do something and you don't and you're starting to Google it and it's a big project, stop trying to Google it and look at
who can I just hire and pay a few thousand dollars that has done it for 20 years that will give me
the blueprint, right?
So I encourage you guys to find the Masterminds,
the coaching programs, the experts, the authorities.
Join those, hire them,
do whatever you've got to do to get in those rooms.
And then I encourage you, if you're a bigger company like me,
build a board of directors.
If you don't have a board of directors currently
and you're doing millions and millions a year
and you're going into the tens of millions a year,
a board of directors is, as it sounds, is a board, right?
A community, a shared group that are going to help keep you aligned and focused and all bringing different expertise, right?
You normally have someone, you know, I serve on some boards as the marketing person, right?
You might have an attorney or a CFO or, you know, maybe a PR if you're a big company and you're doing a bunch of
press, right? And mainstream press. You might have someone with a Hollywood background. You might
have someone that's done a ton of international expansion for a Fortune 500 company if you're
trying to expand globally, right? So building a board is super important as well for a lot of you
if you're doing more big box businesses
because sometimes you pay them small fees and retainers.
Often you're just giving them shares in the company, which if your goal is to build and sell eventually
or sell some or go public like it is for me, for them they could walk away with hundreds of thousands
if not millions of dollars from it.
And for you, it
doesn't cost you anything right now. And you get all the upside to help you get there faster, right?
And if you give away a few percent of your company, right, and they help add, they help double your
company, or they help you raise capital, or they help you buy a company or sell that adds $100
million to the company, then giving away 55 million is a no-brainer,
right? Or $10 million is a no-brainer if you could add $50 or $100 million through
their network skillset, right? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second. Before we go into the rest of this
episode, I'm going to interrupt abruptly and just ask you one big favor. I hope you're getting a

I would love for
you to leave that review and I would appreciate it very, very much so we can keep growing this show
and make it awesome. So let's get back into the episode. I appreciate you guys and let's dive back
in. So look at the masterminds, look at the coaching programs, look for the experts. Remember
the who, not how. When you're poor, you look at the how. When you're successful and rich, you look
at the who. Why? Because it speeds things up, right? And don't get me wrong, when I're poor, you look at the how. When you're successful and rich, you look at the who. Why? Because it speeds things up, right?
And don't get me wrong.
When I was poor and I had no money starting out, I was Googling all day.
But you're going to get a bunch of random answers.
There's no clarity.
And it doesn't give context to your situation.
And as you get successful in life, you'll learn context is the most important thing.
So having someone give you advice based on unbiased advice,
based on context of what you need in your situation
is a million times more powerful
than watching every YouTube video
or even reading a book from that same person
and trying to apply it.
That person in real life setting,
knowing about you and where you're at
and where you wanna go
and adding context into what they're telling you makes it a hundred times more powerful so learn not just to
do your research not just to learn obviously i encourage that but if you want to speed up you
want to go faster you want to think bigger you've got to learn that it's the who not the how okay
and there's some books you know you can dive into this subject even more. There's books written on this principle.
And it's something that when I became a millionaire, I was doing a lot of the how when I'm at 10 million going to 100 million and then into the hopefully towards the billion.
It's all about the who. Right.
And I'll obviously spend and invest crazy money to find those people. And me being part of the masterminds and the coaching
programs and all this community over the last five, six, seven years has given me that Rolodex
of the who, right? And if I don't have it, I already know someone that I can ask that's in
that space that will have that Rolodex themselves, right? And because I've built those relationships,
I have enough of a connection to go to them and say, hey, I know you're in finance. I'm looking for a CFO that has helped marketing agencies do M&A, mergers and acquisitions, or gone public, or whatever I want to do. Bring in enterprise clients, and then they connect me, and voila, I just collapsed five years of my life, right? Literally
two steps away and collapsed five years of my life. So look at that, understand that, invest in
that and value it, right? You're never going to invest in it and spend time if you don't value
what I'm saying today. So figure this out, sit down, write a list, okay? And then start playing
around with it. And one big clue and tip that I'll leave you with, and I run my
own mastermind. Many of you know, I have 200, 300 members. We have different tiers. We help on the
marketing, the business building, the hiring, the marketing strategy, the social strategy,
the brand strategy. You're welcome to be part of that if that's something that's big for you right
now. But one thing I teach my clients in my own mastermind
is it's your responsibility to go in and make it happen.
So the reason I've been successful
and spent a million dollars in these masterminds,
which is about 150 grand a year,
but made many more millions back as an ROI
is every time I would go to the event
and I would travel around the world to go,
I would go, how do I make this two days really successful?
Who, I go in with a plan.
Who do I need to meet?
Who do I wanna connect with?
Who are the biggest players?
Who's a strategic connection?
And I go and make it happen.
And I took ownership and responsibility
of getting an ROI from that mastermind in that situation.
And don't get me wrong, I've been in a couple of masterminds where I maybe didn't have the
right group of people in there. It wasn't for me. It wasn't maybe facilitated the best.
And I kind of didn't get a good feel from it from the first couple of times and I didn't renew.
And then I lost 25, 30k. And that's okay too. Right? Like some of you, if you
did that, it would eat you alive and you would quit, right? Or you'd never join a mastermind
again, but it's all about knowing, Hey, I've also like, I'll give you the flip side of that.
I've joined a mastermind and one mastermind actually was in Europe with family. And I flew
back to LA. I took a red, you know, like a 15 hour flight. And then I was there for two days and took
a red eye back to Europe because my family were on vacation there. So I literally left a vacation
in Spain, right, to come to LA halfway across the world to then spend two days there to then fly
back. Most of you a wouldn't have ever done that. You just said, Hey, I gotta miss this event,
because I'm in I'm in Europe right now, right? Think about it, be honest with yourself. And then secondly, I went to that event with even more intention than I've
ever had before because I was literally flying 30 hours there and back to get there and leaving my
family for four days, basically, right? A travel day either side and two days. But guess what?
That one event, because I had so much intention and drive within
me, I made over $200,000, right? $200,000. So if I said to you, hey, get on this flight, go there
for two days, fly back for $200,000, would you do it? Now you'd say, hell yes, Rudy, right?
So what's the difference there? Well, A, I took the risk. Most of you have said, hey, I can't make
this one. I'm in Europe. I'll see you in three months, right? They're every three months, the events. But I had so much intention and drive, right? And the moral of that, me telling you that story is, A, you got to make won't work out or some coaching programs. And then you're gonna spend 20, 30, 40, 50K, 100K on some
and they're gonna ROI five times over
and it will change your life, right?
Or play a part in changing your life and business.
So go with intention, find these groups,
find these mentors, find these people, surround yourself.
There's like almost, it gets to a point
where you can't do enough of it, right?
Because you run out of time and money. So it's like go, it gets to a point where you can't do enough of it, right? Because
you run out of time and money. So it's like, go all in and obviously play around with it in the
first year or two and find the people you jive with, find the people that have the best rooms,
find the people that are super connected like I am. Because now when someone joins my mastermind,
we've helped some people get into big corporate America stores. We've helped some people get on
TV. We've helped some people get in major news outlets. We've helped some people connect with
a celebrity. We've given some of our clients major agency programs, like clients that we didn't want,
right? Or we couldn't facilitate and serve. We've helped some clients get stages. We've helped some
clients get bestselling books, right? We've helped some clients save tens, if not hundreds of thousands on their taxes.
So I've been able to like build this over 10 years and now I'm giving it back, right?
But you've got to find the people like me that have the resources, the connections and the respect
where if you're around them, it's going to lift you up, right?
And they're obviously someone like me that's willing to give back.
Not everyone's willing to give back, but you know, I started just like you, right? I started from nothing. So
I'm not too good to give back. I want to support everyone, especially in their early stages. Okay.
So that's the moral of today's story. Okay. Find the rooms, find the people, find the connections,
build that strategic connection, whether it's a board of advisors or it's just a Rolodex of
connections, hire the right consultants, because I promise you it's the best money you'll ever spend if you're
doing it well, you're doing it strategically, and then you go all in to figure out how do I make
this a big win for myself. It will get you further in life much faster, you'll save time, and you'll
have better results because of it with less stress. So that's a big part is the right people in the right room.
The red life is full of those people. And if you want to be part of our community, you're more than
welcome to join. Thank you for listening and tuning in today. And until next time, keep living the red
life. Ladies and gentlemen.
