Money is a massive driver of happiness, right? And security and health and wealth is all combined
together. So learning how to control your money is super important for anyone listening. And if
you have friends, family members that aren't in control of their money, but they've got the
entrepreneurial spirit and they want to get out of a nine to five, or they've maybe been laid off
and they're figuring out what's next, send them this episode. Please, please do your part.
Send them this episode because I know it's going to help. So let's dive into side hustles. Let's talk about different side hustles and what we look for. My name is Rudy Moore, host of Living
the Red Life podcast, and I'm here to change the way you see your life in your earpiece every single
week. If you're ready to start living the red life, ditch the blue pill, take the red pill,
join me in Wonderland and change your life. Guys, what's up? Welcome back to another episode of Living the Red Life.
Today, we are going to talk about red life side hustles. Why do I like side hustles? Well,
side hustles is where many of the greatest businesses begin, okay? Many of the billion
dollar brands started with a side hustle or an entrepreneur that was doing a lot of side
hustles as a teenager. And that's where they got the book, the entrepreneur book. And I did,
you know, what you would call a side hustle for many years. Right. And I helped, you know,
I earned money as a teenager and then into, you know, my 18, 19, 20, 21 different side hustles.
And then I actually was doing about five, 10 grand a month with a few
side hustles, which led me to where I am today, which is a big business, a big company, which I'm
super excited to run now. And it all started with side hustles. So we're going to talk today about
different side hustles. What is a side hustle? What are the best side hustles, the pros and cons?
And if you're listening to this, Ryan, you're an entrepreneur, then there's a the best side hustles, the pros and cons. And if you're listening to this,
right, and you're an entrepreneur, then there's a lot of side hustles out there that you could be doing to add extra income, right? And it's all high profit, which you can take that money and
reinvest in your business, right? Now, if you're a multi-millionaire, you might not be starting a
new side hustle, but it might be someone for your friends, your family, your children, right?
A cousin that's trying to get out of it.
So I think you'll get a lot of ideas and find some of them entertaining, right, along the way.
And if you didn't know, we're currently at the time of recording this,
we're filming a TV show called Stupid Side Hustles.
So I've been deep in the world of side hustles.
I've been learning about them, helping run some, auditing them.
And part of the show is to assess, hey, is this a stupid freaking idea or is this a million dollar business, right?
And how do you bridge that gap between stupid idea and million dollar business?
So some of the side hustles that I've been diving into for our show is monkeys at parties, right?
Someone that takes animals, exotic animals to parties, to children's
parties. Someone that buys a bunch of cars and Turo's them out. If you don't know what Turo is,
it's kind of like Airbnb for cars, right? And then we've got some side hustles that are stuff like
OnlyFans, right? Some of the top creators on there that are earning millions of dollars a year on
OnlyFans. And we actually have a couple of our mastermind members featured, one of which is local and has an ATM business. He started with one ATM, turned it into
a million dollar business in three years and now has about 150 ATMs. Another one is two young guys
in Chicago that flipped couches. They started flipping couches on Facebook, you know, flipping
a couple of months as a side hustle, making a few hundred dollars.
Now they're making tens of thousands of dollars and they've built a whole business, a furniture flip business from that initial side hustle, right? So, and the messaging here is, hey, this is
entrepreneurship at its greatness. This is what entrepreneurship really is. It's taking this
random concept, this random idea, and then through a lot
of imagination, blood, sweat, and hard work, turning it into a big side hustle that helps you quit your
job. And in many cases, right, some of these side hustles become a million dollar business, right?
And if that's not American entrepreneurship at its best, I don't know what is. And that's why I love
it because it's the root of the economy, right? It's the root of what most people can attach themselves to.
Most people can't be the $10 million CEO like I am, right?
They, you know, for a lot of people
building a million dollar business is life-changing
or even doing a side hustle
that's making five, 10 grand a month is life-changing, right?
So now if I can support people like you, right,
to start doing that, right,
or people out there listening
that are in a nine to five right now,
or they aren't in control of their money,
I always say being in control of your money
and knowing how to make more money
is one of the biggest life hacks, right?
It's one of the biggest happiness hacks
because money is a massive driver of happiness, right?
And security and health and
wealth is all combined together. So learning how to control your money is super important for anyone
listening. And if you have friends, family members that aren't in control of their money, but they've
got the entrepreneurial spirit and they want to get out of a nine to five, or they've maybe been
laid off and they're figuring out what's next, send them this episode. Please, please do your part. Send them this episode because I know it's going to help.
So let's dive into side hustles. Let's talk about different side hustles and what we look for,
right? So like I said, there's a big range of side hustles. I'm going to talk about some of
the side hustles coming up on my new show, Stupid Side Hustles. That will be streaming soon on a lot
of major platforms that you can watch.
OK, and we'll start with the ATM business. Right.
The reason I love this is it can become a side hustle and it could flip and turn eventually into a multi-million dollar business.
Right. So the individual and the side hustle here that we're talking about, that's going to be in the show.
I won't name names to spoil the show, but we're actually going to help them go to, you know,
Morty Millions and then turn it into an educational product and really become the authority around that business.
And he's done an amazing job to go from one ATM to over 120 or 150.
And now he's doing a million dollars a year. Right. And in just three years.
And the message here is we'll talk about the mechanics of the business. But the message here is, we'll talk about the mechanics of the
business, but the message here is he started with one ATM, guys. He started with one ATM and you can
all do the same. There's so many of you out here listening and you're going to give excuses. You're
going to give reasons why you can't do this, okay? You can literally go out there and you can lease
an ATM. You don't have to spend two grand on it. You can find ATMs
and start your side hustle right now. Okay. Other people like the couch flipping, they literally
started by taking used couches, worn old couches and got paid to take them away. So you literally
can get paid to take couches away. You don't even have to pay for the couch and then you flip it.
Okay. There's people like me, millionaires or people that, you know, maybe older, they don't use social media or they're
busy. They have a couch that's worth $200. They don't have the time, energy, they don't care enough
to go and list that, right? Like if I go and buy, my last couch I bought was $8,000. The couch that
I had previous to that was $3,000. And the one previous to that was $500.
The $3,000 one I cared about, I put it in a storage unit, right?
I actually gave it to my mom.
But the one before that, I didn't care about.
I just got rid of, right?
And it was like a hassle to do that.
And most furniture stores charge hundreds of dollars.
So part of what makes a great side hustle is finding gaps in the market, right? So there's a gap in
that market where people want to get rid of their couches or figure it out and furniture
stores charge for it. So they figured out, hey, there's a gap where we can get them for free,
right? The ATM gap was, hey, there's a lot of companies, right, that need ATMs in their locations
because it actually helps increase sales because they're a cash intensive business, right, that need ATMs in their locations because it actually helps increase sales because
they're a cash intensive business, right? Think about gambling arcades, places that don't use
credit card much, right? Smaller businesses that don't want to accept credit card as much, right?
They might do cash only. So they found a gap too, right? And there's millions of side hustles out
there. So think about,
hey, for you, if you were looking at side hustles or looking even at a new business,
and this is true for big business, not just side hustles, what is that gap in the marketplace?
What is it something you're passionate about, right? So I actually, quote unquote, had my first
side hustle at like 12 years old. I was buying and selling games on the internet. And what I
figured out as a 12 year old, my parents weren't wealthy. I didn't get this from anyone. I just
like was good at math and I liked money and I liked gaming, right? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second.
Before we go into the rest of this episode, I'm going to interrupt abruptly and just ask you one
big favor. I hope you're getting a ton of value, a ton of knowledge. I hope you're getting some breakthroughs from myself and the guests.
And I want one thing in return. What I would love is for you to subscribe and leave a review. The
reviews and the subscription grows the podcast. It allows me to bring you even better guests.
It allows me to invest even more time and money into this podcast to bring you the latest and
greatest, the best entrepreneurs
from around the world that are crushing life, crushing their business, and giving you all
the tools, the mindset hacks, the knowledge, and the environment you need to be successful.
So do me a favor, if you've got any amount of value from today's episode so far, or any
previous episode, or any of the content I've done, it would mean the world to me if you
hit a five-star review, give us your feedback on the show, the episodes and subscribe and download. Plus,
if you do that and send me a screenshot on Instagram at RudyMoreLife, I will send you
a bunch of my free training, marketing courses, sales courses worth $499. Yes, $500 worth of
courses for a simple 30 second review. It would mean the world to me. Send
me that screenshot. I would love for you to leave that review and I would appreciate it very, very
much so we can keep growing this show and make it awesome. So let's get back into the episode.
I appreciate you guys and let's dive back in. So what I figured out was, hey, all the games,
right, like PlayStation games sell for 40 pounds, English pounds. That's what
they sold for, right? So like $50. And I was like, every brand new game that comes out, no matter
what game it is, it's 40 pounds. It's not cheaper. It's just like, it's never cheaper. So I go,
well, how can I get these games cheaper at wholesale? And through my connections,
which I figured out, right, I had a friend that could get them wholesale and I could get them
cheaper.
So then we got these games cheaper
and then we would flip them
and sell them for a few dollars
less than the full price, right?
And it's amazing because now,
obviously I don't care about a few dollars,
but most people,
if they can buy a game for $38,
38 pounds instead of 40,
they're going to go do it, right?
So for that $2 difference
or two British pounds, right? So for that $2 difference or two British
pounds, right, pounds difference, people are going to buy on eBay versus the store. So, and obviously
this was, you know, 20 years ago when Amazon wasn't around, right? And people couldn't get stuff
online as easily. So eBay was a great place to do it. So I figured out that gap in the marketplace
and my first side hustle was flipping games right and
then I continued right and I was doing fitness but actually got into freelance writing as a side
hustle while so I was writing fitness content on the side while personal training this was great
for me because I enjoyed writing I enjoyed learning I enjoyed studying I enjoyed producing this final
article this piece of science research and fitness knowledge that was super beneficial. And I worked my way up. I started writing for free and then I actually got $30 gig. So I was getting paid $30 and I was always like a big time for money guy. So I was, I would time myself. I would do these within an hour and I was earning as much as a personal training session, but I didn't have to leave my house. So it was like add on right in my spare time. And then I got up to a hundred dollars and
then I got a two and then I started getting $200 articles that I could do in like 90 minutes.
I'm like that, you know, and obviously in my early twenties, this is like a lot of money,
right? It's like $200 an hour almost. So I'm like, this is crazy. And then I kept working another
year on the side, doing this with my other stuff. And I'm like, this is crazy. And then I kept working another year on the side,
doing this with my other stuff. And I started getting paid a thousand dollars. Then I remember
I got in Oxygen magazine, one of the biggest fitness health women's magazines. And I think
I got paid two and a half thousand dollars. Obviously I spent a little more time on that,
probably spent five hours, but it was still $500 an hour, right? For my time. And obviously it was
free exposure. I got published to millions of people, right, for my time. And obviously it was free exposure.
I got published to millions of people, right?
Some people now in my marketing business world
will pay 10 grand to get in a magazine like Forbes, right?
So I actually got paid to get in there.
So, and that all started from a side hustle, right?
So there's a lot of great business
that can start from side hustles, a lot of great ideas.
And there's so many fundamental elements of a side hustle that you find in big box business
too, right?
Finding opportunity, starting small, testing the market, and then building up, building
that portfolio, right?
And then another important part of side hustles is finding add-ons, right?
So like when I was doing the article writing, I said, well, can I do social
media content? Can I do other copywriting on top? When I was selling games, it was like, well, I was
doing well selling new games. I was like, can I sell accessories? Can I sell used games, right?
Secondhand games. So you've got to always look the same in business. Like, hey, I'm doing well in this
vertical. How can I add on to that, right? You know know we just did an interview for some where you know
we're casting right now for our only fans part of the stupid side hustle series right so uh very
controversial but fascinating topic right which exploded during covid um and then talking to
these big influencers and only fans adult actresses right? It's like looking at that business model
and how it's the same business model in that industry
that none of us probably know or most of us don't
compared to internet marketing and business and e-commerce, right?
In that business model,
they're doing the same model that we do in business.
They're having low ticket, free content, right?
And then it pushes
to a bridge page to upgrade. Then they build this subscription model of their loyal fans and
following and they're posting regularly. And then they have a VIP and then they have a one-on-one,
right? And it's the same as that business model is like the internet marketers, my world, what we
charge, right? Hey, you can join the group. You can join the membership site, the community. you can get work with our team, you can have, and then you can work one-on-one
and get one-on-one coaching. And it's that like funnel, right? And it's the same in that business,
right? Too. And, you know, some of these, as we're doing this interview series and casting series,
some of them are earning a million dollars a year and it's crazy how much they're earning,
you know, and you see these viral trending posts all the time, right? Like teacher quits job $40,000 a year salary to
join OnlyFans, right? And it's just fascinating that an industry like that, very different
industry versus our industry, a lot of the similarities exist, right? Which is about the
psychology of buying patterns, right? is about the psychology of buying patterns, right?
And understanding the psychology of buying patterns is the same as me selling games when I was 12
versus couch flipping versus ATMs versus OnlyFans. And that's why I love to do this TV series,
because not only am I helping them and showing them how big business works, right? And
how it's the same in the side hustle, but helping them see the vision of how much bigger it can be.
And obviously part of living the red life, part of this podcast series, part of what I do, if you
follow me, is trying to help you see bigger, right? And look at, hey, what I'm doing now, I'm playing
small, right? And one of the biggest things you'll find in life is you're
constantly playing small and it's only time and progression that shows you that. So part of my
job and what I see my job is for you is to like show you you're playing small, right? If you're
in a side hustle right now, look at how do I turn that into a million dollar business? If I'm in a
nine to five right now, push yourself. How do I start a side hustle and make five, 10 grand a month to
quit my nine to five that I hate, right? And if you're already the millionaire, it's like, well,
how'd you go bigger? How'd you have multiple companies? How'd you go to 10 million, right?
Whatever you want to achieve in your life, I'm not trying to force anything on you,
but there's always that next level, okay? And it's always important if you want to have fast growth
to keep pushing yourself to that next level, right? So we's always important if you want to have fast growth to keep pushing yourself
to that next level, right? So we've talked about a few different side hustles that are part of the
TV show, right? We've talked about the connection between business and psychology and buying
patterns and some of the most randomest side hustles out there. And there's many more on the
show, which I'm excited for you guys to see
when it goes live at the end of this year.
And then let's talk now about
what makes a good side hustle, right?
You're probably here listening,
like what is a good side hustle?
What are some of the best side hustles, right?
There's so many side hustles out there.
And in my new book, Living the Red Life,
one section actually talks about
50 different online businesses,
online side hustles that you can start,
okay? And obviously, I love online part of the red life is making money on the internet because
that equals freedom, right? A lot of you lock down and the internet can give you freedom. I
traveled the world for two years without a house. I literally got rid of my house, put all my stuff
in storage, and I literally traveled the world for almost two years
before COVID. It gives you an insane amount of freedom. So look for side hustles if you want that
freedom that is going to allow you to travel. It's going to allow you to work from a Starbucks and
then the ocean and then your family if you want to go visit for a month and then maybe you want to go
to the other side of the world and do a month in Thailand, right? So any sort of online business, selling products online, working as an assistant online,
writing content online, learning basic marketing skills such as social media, video editing, right?
There's so many online opportunities that are out there for you that you could learn, that you could
figure out, that you could start working on
to start your side hustle today
that could, right, just like me,
it could turn into a profitable big business.
And who knows, for a few of you,
can't guarantee this,
but for a few of you,
could turn even into a million dollar business.
And like I always tell my members,
the key is starting today.
So go and look at the list of side hustles.
Go and look at all the
opportunities out there and then tell yourself that you can do it, right? Because the biggest
thing stopping you isn't all the reasons you're telling yourself is why you can't do it. They're
called limiting beliefs. The only thing stopping you is yourself. It's yourself believing that I
can go and do it and fail forward, okay? Pick the list, look at the side hustles, do some research. If my TV shows out by the time this, you know, you're listening to this,
maybe down the line, go and watch my TV series, go and pick up my book, Living the Red Life,
if that's published by this time and read those side hustles, pick something you're passionate
about, something you're skillful in, something you feel you could enjoy because part of living
the red life is building a life of wealth, but also enjoyment, right? And then go all in, go all in,
don't be afraid to fail, right? And if you work a nine to five, be okay, getting home at five o'clock
and then working from six till 10 on your new business, on your new side hustle, because that's
what it takes, right? And many of the greatest businesses in America were built with that same pattern, right? In a job, hated my job, quit the job, started something,
and voila, it's now a billion dollar company, okay? And that can happen for you too in terms
of leaving your job and starting a new company, maybe not the billion dollar part, but that can
happen for you too if you commit to that process. If you're willing to go home tonight, okay, when you're listening to this,
and instead of watching Netflix, instead of cuddling with your husband or wife,
it's you sitting at a computer for four hours, right?
Maybe it's on the couch so that they can cuddle you still,
but it's spending that four hours working on your business,
working on a new blog, working on building your website.
You know, I use ClickFunnels,
but you can use any website builder, working, going through eBay and buying stuff that you resell for double the price, right? You've got to know the opportunities out there and the world of
side hustles is ever growing, right? You know, like I said, there's some people come in on our
show with 15 different cars, okay? And they're car fanatics. And they figured out how can I take my,
you know, my passion for cars,
buy 10, 15 cars, make a profit,
have them all paying themselves off.
And now my passion is ignited
because I have 15 cars to play around with,
or 10 cars, right?
And if you're a car junkie, that's an awesome life.
That's better than the nine to five you hated.
You're making more money doing something you love, right? And that's the definition of living the red life. So I hope
you enjoyed today's episode talking about the world of side hustles, learning a little bit
about my journey when I started and how side hustles for me led to a million dollar business
and how you can find that too, right? How can you find and start somewhere? How can you start that journey?
How can you have the right mindset
to start those side hustles?
And it really is a crazy world out there.
If you're not interested in starting a side hustle,
then maybe this episode wasn't meant for you.
It was meant for someone you know,
someone you care about,
someone that you're passionate about helping
and you are here to listen to this episode
because it's now your job, duty, and responsibility to pass that on, right, to someone that needs to
hear this, right? Because it's your responsibility to share that wealth, that knowledge, as well as
my responsibility, right? I'm here recording this for you to maybe go and share this to someone that
you can have an impact on, right? Whether it's a cousin, right? A niece, a nephew, maybe it's
a friend in a bad spot that's in a job they hate. They've worked for 20 years and they think that's
all that life is, right? And this message and this podcast today is to show them that's not it.
Actually, there's this whole world out there, especially using the internet, where they can
probably replace their nine to five and build that dream life, okay? And that's what we're all about here.
And I hope you enjoyed this episode.
Until next time, keep living the red life
and I'll see you guys soon.
Let's start a side hustle together.
Take care.
Ladies and gentlemen.
