Starting point is 00:00:00 The Duke Blue Devils did the unthinkable, not in just winning the game against Alabama and how they want it. And yeah, Duke is going to win the national championship. You are locked on ACC, your daily podcast on the Atlantic Coast Conference. Part of the Locked on Podcast Network, your team every day. As we get closer to one shining moment, we are locked on ACC. He is Kenton Gibbs from Locked on Wolfpack. I am Alex Dono from Lockdown Caines. Thank you so much to the everydayers for making Lockdown ACC.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Your first listen and your first watch today. We're available free wherever you get your podcast. We're free on YouTube. We're part of the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team every day. Today's episode is brought to you by Fanduel. Right now, new customers can get $200 in bonus bets when your first $5 bet wins. On this loaded episode, we're going to talk about these new initiatives that the ACC, basically to satisfy Florida State and Clemson for a few more years until they leave anyway.
Starting point is 00:01:08 We'll talk about these brand initiatives and success initiatives. And, you know, Kenton is going to bring up, I think, a fair point about the initiatives being a little bit unfair. But also, who else can benefit besides the obvious answers of Florida State and Clemson? Because I think there are a few other possibilities there. And it's all about the Duke Blue Devils. We'll talk about their matchup coming up in Houston against Houston in the final four in San Antonio. But what they just did to Bama and Kenton, when I say they did the unthinkable. Obviously, it's not a huge shock that Duke won the game.
Starting point is 00:01:45 They were favored. I did think Alabama could potentially give them some trouble, but to hold the top offensive juggernaut in the country, who, by the way, Bama had just scored 113 points in their previous game. Duke held them to almost half of that. Like, did you see a scenario heading into that game where Duke would hold the Crimson Tide to 65 points and route to an 85-65 victory?
Starting point is 00:02:14 Well, I want to make one thing clear about how dominant this defensive performance was, okay? Alabama, in terms of who they are, who they've been all season, all that good stuff, they have put up 65 or lower exactly one other. time exactly once the entire rest of the season 65 or lower one time and one time on that's it every other game they have exceeded that the thing that i think is so interesting about this duke finally did what you and i wanted them to do in the round of 32 and the round of of you know
Starting point is 00:02:53 and all that good stuff for sui 16 make them play your game don't run and gun with them and that's what they did. They said, you know what? If they can be this in a half court, they can be this in a half court. But I bet they can. This is a good bet for me that we can. We have it under good authority.
Starting point is 00:03:11 They will not be able to keep up. If we say, hey, slow this thing down, get into our sets, make them score against the set defense. It was a, the perimeter pressure that Duke applied with the size that they have was phenomenal. I mean, in my mind,
Starting point is 00:03:29 And this is why I can name a basketball guy. So I'll admit that before people rain down hellfire on my head and say, that's an idiotic thing. Nobody's ever done it even though this hasn't been done. I'm thinking the game plan here close out super hard. If they get by you, let them finish against Malawatch at the rim. If they can finish, fine. No such thing was to be had.
Starting point is 00:03:52 You know, Donald Washington on tape delay like he was back in the 70s. I watched it live in real time. And both of us came away like. What? What was that perimeter defense? All of the love that we give Cooper flag for his offense, congeny for his shooting, all of the love that we get Proctor for his timely score. All three of those guys were just like, hey, I'm going to give you a stray jacket. And here's some soft padded walls because you're locked up for the rest of these 40 minutes, buddy. So, you know, hey, it's been fun, been a good run, you know.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Nate Oates talked all this talk about, oh, you know, the middle of the SEC has more wins than the top ACC team. How'd that work out for you, Coach Oates? How'd that work out for you? Duke has this just beautiful combination of length, versatility, and chemistry on that roster. I mean, three true freshman starters, but the upperclassmen compliment it so well. And, you know, Cooper Flag is not the only guy who can step up in a big way. I mean, you talk about Malawatch, especially his defense. It was Khan Kinple was the one who led Duke in scoring with 21 points.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Tyree Kroctor had another awesome game with 17 points. Flag, you know, I guess for him, it was kind of a pedestrian day scoring-wise. I still played a great game when you look. Go ahead. Oh, I said it was a regular old quiet night from Cooper Flag. Yeah, 16, 9 and 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists. So only had one block shot in this game, but it was a very impactful block shot from Cooper Flag. And with Duke, they want to play, I guess, as many tournament games in New Jersey.
Starting point is 00:05:42 They want the final four to be moved to New Jersey. They've never lost an NCAA tournament game in that state. And they're on their way to the final four. for the 18th time they're going to be taking on Houston. Now, Kenton, your take on this NCAA tournament, does this one, like if you can rate the tournament to this point on scale of 1 to 10, because there's something a lot of people don't like in the fact that you look at the final four. Top seed, Alabama, or top seed Auburn, sorry, taking on number one seed Florida.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Number one seed Duke taking on number one seed Houston. I mean, we, this may be, I know I'm sure our guy Isaac Shade would have some staff. It's like, no, no, no, in 1967, it was more chalky than this one. But in my lifetime, you rarely experience chalk like this with all four number one seeds getting to the final four. But I've still been entertained. And you know what? I'm okay with the cream rising to the top. And if anything, the selection committee clearly did something right when they assigned their number one seeds.
Starting point is 00:06:49 I'm going to say something, and many people are not going to like this. This was not the selection committee doing something right. This was NIL doing something right. Players don't stay at really small schools anymore. Of the 30 conference players of the year, I believe only four or five of them are still playing. So that takes it down for 30 to 26. Of the 26 remaining, how many do you think are in the transfer portal already? I don't even want to get.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Yes, all of them. 11. 11. At the moment of this recording. So basically, if you're in that lower half of conferences and you're one of the best players in the country, guess what you're going to go do? Yeah, you're going to transfer. You're going to transfer. You're going to end up out of Duke.
Starting point is 00:07:39 You're going to end up out of Houston. You're going to end up out of Purdue. You're going to end up out of Kansas. You're going to end up at NC State. You know what I'm going to end up somewhere else? You know, that's the point that I'm saying. saying here. So I think that we will be seeing more chalk results because back in the day, the thing that created the variance, the thing that made the madness in March was you had all
Starting point is 00:08:02 these guys that, yeah, the best player on that team is going to have a three-year career in Lithuania, but you've got guys that have played together forever, guys that are really talented that have played together forever. You've got the conference player at a year from the Socon with three other guys that came in in the same recruit class as him. And they may be got one transfer from a high major school and boy they're rolling they're a bowling ball of butcher knives as opposed to what you see now where again it's just all of the best players get sucked up and concentrated into in essence three or four conferences which means you're not going to see those upsets as often that's just not what's going to happen. Can you explain to me why the college
Starting point is 00:08:45 basketball transfer portal opens before the tournament ends like it opened on what March 24th or March 25th, I don't understand why you can't wait till the tournament is over to open the portal. Like I, if it was, if it was right up against academic enrollment deadlines, which is the case for football, right? Like the football, at least the the winter transfer portal, it opens when it does because it gives you time to enroll for spring classes somewhere. But it's like semester's almost over. Like I, I don't understand why, because it offers so much disruption, even to teams that are in the tournament. and for coaching changes, coaches have more pressure to get to their new spot early to handle the transfer portal at the new. Like, I don't understand why we can't wait until, you know, first week of April to open the portal.
Starting point is 00:09:31 I a billion percent agree. I a billion percent agree. Again, with football, there's a specific reason that has to happen to what happens. And even with football, I don't like it. Me personally, I would much rather have it be literally the week after the conference championship week. Boom, next week, open the portal. open it right then so the guys know, hey, you're not going to have this kid for the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:09:53 He's gone. Hey, and as unfortunate as it would be, at least it would be different. For basketball, there is no logical reason to have it like this. You just talked about the enrollment factor. There is no enrollment factor here. There is nothing saying, yeah, if we held off for three weeks, this would deeply impact their chances of getting enrolled at school,
Starting point is 00:10:12 X, Y, Z, or A, B, and C. It's foolishness. It really and truly is foolishness. and you look at these teams that are impacted. Of course there's going to be folks up in arms about this because, again, we're watching conference players of the year and say, I'm good. I'm going to go make me a bag elsewhere.
Starting point is 00:10:32 So if we're seeing teams that are in the tournament or just barely missed the tournament or teams that are still playing, say, hey, what are we going to do with this kid? We want them to play. We want to be part of our future, but he might not want to be here. Oh, let me go ahead and leave right in middle of this run.
Starting point is 00:10:50 This is just shameful. It sure is. But I'll tell you what's not shameful. Duke's run into the final four. They match up with Houston and San Antonio. Can Houston test Duke in a way that Alabama couldn't? Let's talk about the matchup. Let's talk about the odds.
Starting point is 00:11:08 And let's talk about these Blue Devils and how they're going to go all the way. You want to keep it locked right here. Kenton Gibbs and Alex Dono. We're only getting started on this brand new episode of Lockdown ACC. Folks, all of this action going on. We're heading into the final four, NBA action left and right. Guys, by the way, have you been betting on Duke throughout the tournament, they have covered the spread in three out of of the four games that they played. So you have made money if you abet Duke against the spread every time, which, you know, Kenton and I have strongly felt that way throughout the tournament. Guys, the Fandual app is simple to use. Thank you so much for making Lockdown ACC, your first listen and your first watch today. For your next listen, make sure you check out Kenton Gibbs and Grayson Boone on Lockdown Wolfpack.
Starting point is 00:12:26 the Will Wade show for them in recent weeks. You could check me out on Locked on Cains. You know, Miami basketball, they did just hire Jay Lucas from Duke, which is exciting. Talking a lot of spring football there on Locked on Cains, as I know Kenton Grayson, Kenton and Grayson are as well. Check out Locked on Cains and Locked on Wolfpack. All right, KG. So Duke will take the another number one seed, the Houston Cougars coming up in the final four.
Starting point is 00:12:52 And, you know, Houston, what they do very well, two things that stand out. Well, really three things that stand out. They're three-point shooting. They're among the very best, 39.8% right up there with the top of the nation. They play very good defense. And they also shoot well at the free throw line. So if you talk about a team that can maybe test Duke defensively, Houston seems to stack up at least on paper there.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Another thing that Houston has, they've got a lot of debt. they've got a lot of guys that when you know that you're playing up against the Samson squad you know that they're going to play some defense you know they're going to get in the stance right but they added the three-point shot this year and I think they learned from last year the incident was shed where he got hurt they learned and said you know what our offense is not going to be great if it's relying on fryer to be healthy 24-7 our offense is we are cooked we are done we are fried died and laid to the side if we're like please gods please don't Milos get hurt. Don't let Milos get hurt or we're done. They learned that from last year because we saw a Houston team that was looking like they were in good shape to win. And then all of a sudden, oh man, Jamal's shit goes down. And that's it. They've learned. They've learned. And so they're a deeper team. They shoot the ball well. They are a poor man's version of Duke more or less. They do not have the same length. But again, they have depth.
Starting point is 00:14:25 They can come at you in waves like a hockey team darn near, and they have shooters everywhere. They're going to give you problems, and they can play multiple styles of game. You want to play upbeat? They can play upbeat. You want to play half-court. They can give it to you however you want it.
Starting point is 00:14:39 There are one C-4 reason. The only problem is one team has Cooper Flagg in that thing. Okay. That's what I think is going to be the biggest deciding factor here. If Cooper Flagg can have a game where he says, I'm the number of going to play a game. drive and this is why i don't think it'll be close but if they can keep him on the wraps if they can give him another again quiet for cooper night not not regular player quiet right right if it's regular
Starting point is 00:15:05 player quiet then yeah they might win it all right but if they can have a night where they keep him quiet for cooper they stand the chance yeah the quiet for cooper is like a low a low scoring you know double double borderline triple double that that's a quiet one for cooper 1886 is like oh he was real hush yeah Yeah, right. What happened, Cooper? In a terrible game today, 18, 8, and 6. And so this is a top offense versus a top defense. So per Ken Palm, Duke is ranked number one in adjusted offensive efficiency.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Houston ranks number one in adjusted defensive efficiency. Something's got to give. But you talk about the way Duke complements themselves. So number one, an adjusted offensive efficiency. Duke ranks fourth in adjusted defensive efficiency, which is not too shabby, so I like that. But here's something I want to get into with Duke. And I feel like with how, because I've been so, as of you,
Starting point is 00:16:03 I've been so complimentary of Duke, you know, throughout this episode and recent episodes, like a part of me feels like I need to shower after saying so many nice things about Duke basketball because Kenton, like historically, okay, Duke, obviously very popular hoops program. They've done a lot of winning, but very polarizing, right? a lot of people love the blue devils and a lot of people, you know, like me, historically have been haters because there's just something about what that brand at least used to represent, Blue Blood, Yacht Club, pompous, you know, Christian Leitner's, you know, coach, obviously I have so much respect for Coach K, but there's just something about Coach K, you know, and the way that Duke has always been perceived to have been, you know, a lot of bias towards them in the media. Duke basketball, the way people call their games, the way referees have called their games sometimes.
Starting point is 00:16:57 But then I have to kind of step back. And I'm not just saying this because we're locked on ACC and they're the only ACC team, ACC team left since the first round. But genuinely, I feel like this year's Duke Blue Devil Squad is likable in a way that I can't really remember them ever being. I mean, there's some charm about John Shire. There's a lot of charm with Cooper flag and there's not there's not an unlikable pompous seeming guy in the whole bunch so I don't I don't feel like these are the same brand of blue devils that I used to root against now I find myself rooting for them stay with me now stay with me you're wrong but you're right stay with me what stay with you're wrong because Duke didn't become more like they're the same
Starting point is 00:17:49 guys they always work they have a team that's deep filled with star-studded athletes, but they're led by a great white boat. You know what that means. Some white boy that can ball that talks his talk, and he walks the wall. They got that. And Cooper Flack, do they not? Sure. A coach, well-manicured head of hair, a guy that is, he's much less firing than Coach K was,
Starting point is 00:18:12 but a guy that's willing to go after the reps. A guy is willing to mix it up if he doesn't like the way things are going. And John Shite, do they have that or do they know? They do. Stay with me now. The reason that we don't dislike Duke the way we used to is because it's like on the show, like a movie series, right, where like Captain America and the Winter Soldier, at first it was like, oh, God, he's back and he's a villain.
Starting point is 00:18:41 We got to stop him. And it's like, yeah, Bucky looks like a villain until the real villain pulls up, until Thanos pulls up, until Century pulls up. Now all of a sudden, there's a bigger worst threat. So now the guy that once was my enemy, we got to be friends. Come on over, brother. Hey, let's get together. Who's the big bad?
Starting point is 00:19:03 Who's the enemy? Nate Oates. Lane Tiffin. And everybody in the Southeastern Conference. That's the big bad. How is Lane Kiffin catching shrapnel in a basketball discussion? Because this is the problem. it's not the players of the SEC that are talking like,
Starting point is 00:19:24 oh, we're a different, it's a different league because they got to go out there and sign the check that their coaches are writing for them. They've got, it's coming out of their account. So the players are like, hey, we're going to go out there, you know, they're a good team, we'll play our best ball, whoo, woo-woo-woo. But the coaches of the SEC,
Starting point is 00:19:44 that Paul Feinbaum, balled on the top, leave the sides guy, that guy, Oh, those people are what make Duke likable now because now there's something, there's a There's an entity that is so broadly disliked across so many different sports. There's like, oh, oh, God, we all hate you. Whatever stops you, we will root for it even if we don't like it.
Starting point is 00:20:12 I think you summed it up very well. What we needed was a bigger villain. I think you something up well. Duke is the winner's soldier and the SEC is Thanos. There you go. Sometimes your enemy becomes your friend when it comes to a common, when you get a common enemy. I think that makes a lot of sense.
Starting point is 00:20:32 That makes a lot of sense. Now, I want to talk when we come back. And this is something, honestly, I don't know why Duke doesn't get talked about more with this. And I think there are some others that I want to bring up. Who can benefit from the new ACC brand initiative? The brand initiative is where, you know, you get higher TV ratings, higher profile. You can make more money within the ACC revenue structure.
Starting point is 00:20:58 And the success initiative, you do more winning in football and basketball. You make a higher revenue share. And also is the brand initiative is the game rigged towards certain teams. You want to keep it locked right here. We're not done yet on locked on ACCC. The NCAA tournament is here and so is the bracket breakdown. Locked-on Podcast Network and Amazon Fire TV channels are teaming up to deliver NCAA tournament coverage like never before. Watch studio shows featuring former players and Locked-on's local experts as they guide you through every upset, buzzer-beater, and bracket matchup.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Stream it all for free on Amazon Fire TV channels. Search Bracket Breakdown to see it all for free. It's your team every day. Those guys are the best. Andy Patton and Isaac Shade on the Brackett breakdown. So, you know, Kenton, when people talk about this, The brand initiative and success initiative. First of all, I think a lot of people don't understand that technically all 17 or I guess 18, if you include Notre Dame and basketball, all ACC schools do have an opportunity to earn more through these initiatives.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Most people just say, hey, this is the ACC's way of guaranteeing more money for just Florida State who was suing them and Clemson who was suing them. But everybody has an opportunity at this. You know, Miami is another brand that gets brought up a lot. Of course, really high TV ratings last year in football. You know, the program seems to be ascending there. They're going to try to fix the basketball program with Jay Lucas and a completely new roster for next year. So Miami gets brought up a lot.
Starting point is 00:22:48 So first things first, Kenton, in terms of the game being rigged, okay, part of the way that the ACC is going to, help certain teams get a higher revenue split through the brand initiative is more matchups in football against Notre Dame. When you play in Notre Dame, not a member in football, but a scheduling agreement, right? So the ACC can have Notre Dame play certain teams more than others. And when you play Notre Dame, your TV ratings are guaranteed to be very high. That's just the way that it works with a brand like that. So the ACC is only guaranteeing Florida State, Clemson, and Miami to have. more frequent matchups against the fighting Irish.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Those are the teams that they give it to. So, I mean, is that fair to really only give those three brands the opportunity? Absolutely not. That is definitely the ACC putting its thumb on the scale to say like, oh, oh, look, they're doing so much better than everybody else. I don't know what the problem is. Like you said, Donald. In theory, all 17 or 18 members, depending on which sports you're talking about. have the right, have equal opportunity in theory.
Starting point is 00:24:00 In reality, we know, hey, that's a legacy brand. That brand does that. I would have been okay with the ACC saying, all right, you know what? We got to figure out some way to make sure that Notre Dame and playing the worst of us or the new guys on the block. If anybody deserves the extra ratings boosts, it should be the teams that have been here, the teams that are the OGs of the ACC and say, hey, they got to play at least two of the original teams in terms of who Notre Dame is playing every year.
Starting point is 00:24:32 But for some reason, it didn't work out that way. For whatever reason, it just did not work out that way. And now we sit here asking ourselves, well, wait. Did Florida State, Clemson and Miami just get another one up on the rest of the conference? Which, yes. Objectively, they did. This is like in the music world getting a co-sign from a major artist, right? like if you're an up-and-coming artist,
Starting point is 00:24:55 but all of a sudden, Kendrick Lamar was off on the train. Well, you're going to blow up because it doesn't matter whether or not you're putting out a good product or not. People want to see that thing. It's the same thing with Notre Dame. If you are a Wake Forest,
Starting point is 00:25:08 if you are a Boston College, if you are one of the schools that you know where we've historically been at the bottom in terms of viewership and whatnot, this has got to feel like a slap in the face. Because again, you're already behind based on the practice and reality. The ACC didn't have.
Starting point is 00:25:23 have to put his thumb on the scale to make it worse against you. They didn't have to. Florida State is going to win regardless. Clemson was going to win regardless. Miami was going to win the ratings game regardless. So, you know, that has to be taken into consideration as like a just another little dig at those smaller schools. Yeah, so that obviously, this puts everybody outside of Florida State Clemson and Miami at a disadvantage, not getting as many matchups in football against Notre Dame. But I still, I wonder, you know, who else Kenton can take advantage of these initiatives? Because it's funny because a school that doesn't get talked about a whole lot, like in possible conference realignment and how big of a commodity they are is Duke.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Right. And they're in the final four. They're favored to win their next two games and win a basketball national championship. And basketball is part of those formulas. Football is probably a bigger part, but basketball is part of that. But if Duke wins a national championship at hoops, and Duke seems to be about to continue, I think, a rise in football, right? It looks like they're doing some really good things there. I like their new quarterback, Darry and Mensa.
Starting point is 00:26:36 They had a pretty good year last year. We'll see if they can continue to build on that. Do you think Duke is someone who's getting slept on with this stuff? Duke absolutely could be getting slept on. The only problem is they're a private institution. So we don't really have access to the numbers. All these other state institutions, you have to share the numbers. You have to say, hey, this is what our viewership is.
Starting point is 00:26:55 This is how much we're bringing in, all that type of stuff. Private institutions is a little bit different. I am interested to see is Duke big enough to pull off potential independent. I am very interested to see that because when you talk about alignment, I haven't heard much of like, hey, the Big Ten is going to want to do. The SEC is going to want to do. Yeah, you don't hear that ever. Yeah. I haven't heard that at all.
Starting point is 00:27:20 So the only path outside of joining a conference for this or that is being independent. And if that's the path that you're going to take, fine. But you better be able to. That's a tough road to walk. There's a reason that Notre Dame is the only major brand walking that road. Yeah. Any, I think about a couple of other brands who, if they can, you know, continue to raise their trajectories in the revenue sports football and basketball.
Starting point is 00:27:50 First one that I always feel like they get slept on despite the fact that they're in such a huge market is Georgia Tech. And their football teams have pretty good the last couple of years. And they're in Atlanta, right? I mean, Atlanta, one of the biggest market, like a top 10 media market in America. Obviously, you know, they share a lot of viewers with the Georgia Bulldogs. We don't play in Atlanta proper, but there's a lot of UGA fans in the Atlanta market. So it's not like they have that market cornered, but still, like big possibilities in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:28:21 And then another one, this might just be me clinging to nostalgia, okay? But I remember in my prime college football viewing days when I was so pure as just a fan, hadn't started in media yet. I'm thinking about late 90s, early 2000s. Virginia Tech used to be a big time football brand. Frank Beamer, Michael Vic, you know, one of my favorite non-Maiyan. any NBA players ever. I mean, he was just
Starting point is 00:28:48 absolutely electric to watch on TV. And so there was like a probably close to a decade span, maybe even longer when like Frank Beamer had that Virginia Tech program
Starting point is 00:28:59 really, really relevant. They've obviously fallen off, you know, even before Beamer retired, like they've not been the same kind of player in recent years. But, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:08 I know Brent Pry has been chipping away there. I kind of wonder if Virginia Tech with that history of theirs, if they could reemerge and get some of this extra revenue. I mean, it's possible. If you look in that DMV area, right, that DC, Maryland,
Starting point is 00:29:22 Virginia area, who is playing good football? Who? Who in that market collegiately is playing good football? When you think about D.C., are there any college football teams in D.C.? Not in D.C. proper. And watching the tarot pins is like watching paint drive. I was just about to say, Maryland, with all respect to coach, they need to lock that man out the program. And it's not his fault. It's not his fault where a lot of things going on at that school that's like, hey, he can't make up that deficit by himself.
Starting point is 00:29:55 Sure. But it's very clear they're not going to be better than that. And then in Virginia, who do you got? You got Virginia and Virginia Tech. With all due respect, has UVA ever been something where you were like, oh, my. And trust me, as a lion's fan, I remember when Kevin Jones in Virginia beat Virginia Tech for like one of the first times in forever in a day. Thomas Jones, I believe, played there as well.
Starting point is 00:30:18 Another guy that was pretty good at Virginia. That's it. That's it. So Virginia Tech is the one that you talk about big markets. They're the one that's supposed to be the king of that market. It just hasn't materialized. Yeah, for whatever reason. I mean, anybody else you think could be in that mix?
Starting point is 00:30:38 And it's like, again, like, I mean, obviously Boston is a huge TV market. But, I mean, Boston College has had had some rough days. I know you're not the biggest Bill O'Brien fan, so I don't know how you feel about their football trajectory. They haven't exactly taken advantage. I want to go north a little bit from there. I want to talk about a team that plays in the professional stadium. Pitt, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:31:01 Yeah. Why is the support not there? And I get it. Hold on. I got to check your geography. Maybe, because you gave me a geography lesson lately. Is Pitt farther north than Boston? I don't think it is.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Is not? I thought it was. No. I thought because Boston's farther north. Pitt is next to Ohio. You know what? You might be right there. You might be right.
Starting point is 00:31:22 But either way you cut or slice it, I'm still, no, it's definitely north of Boston. Yeah, it's definitely north. But either way you've got to slice it. We need somebody to settle this debate in the comments. What's farther north? What's farther north? Boston or Pittsburgh?
Starting point is 00:31:38 Because I'm all in with Boston, Kenton's all in. I'm a thousand percent in with Pittsburgh. I have a million percent sold. thousand percent wrong and i'll be that i'll be that but i'm telling you i'm surprised that they have and the thing is they've taken big swings capable was a big swing he was supposed to be the next hot assistant out of the coach k tree it didn't work out and then you look at narduzzi is technically the last atlantic coach to ever win an ac c championship And I'm sorry, the last coastal,
Starting point is 00:32:13 I never went to championship. See that, I got something for you there. Can you read that? Can you read that out loud for me? Can you read that? Ah, Boston is far north of Pittsburgh. All right, you got me. You got, you got.
Starting point is 00:32:24 I got the latitudes and the longitudes on there. You got me. You got me. I will admit, I am wrong. I am wrong here. But in all seriousness, I'm confused as to why Pitt. I guess we're going south from Boston. why Pitt is not better at football.
Starting point is 00:32:41 I really am. Yeah, I'm with you on that. Well, I mean, sometimes this is like the second time in two weeks that an episode of Locked on ACC has turned into a bizarre geography lesson. I don't know what we're doing here. I mean, I think. Stay for the geography, ladies and gentlemen. That's what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:33:00 We'll be breaking down the evolution of European borders since World War I coming up in our next episode. Or we'll probably talk more about the, Duke Blue Devils, maybe. You may need to learn about Yugoslavia. Come on back. Come on back. We'll tell you about it.
