on football over undersers are out.
It's time for Dono to lock in his futures.
I love this time of year,
but we also have big time basketball happening tonight, Kenton.
Now, KG, you feel any disrespect that the ACC
semi-final games tonight, Miami against number 10, Virginia, 7 o'clock,
and then 9.30, Clemson against number one, Duke.
Those are going to be on ESPN2.
while the Big 12 is getting on regular ESPN.
I guess more NBA draft prospects overall, maybe.
But I mean, what does the world come to when the Big 12
is getting a bigger platform than the ACC tournament semifinals?
The world is coming to what it's always been, Dono.
The big names and the big stars are getting the biggest platform.
And it's really unfortunate.
But quick question, can you name the four teams that are in it for the Big 12 for me?
Yeah, I had to look that up right before we went on.
I know Houston's in there and Arizona's in there.
And man, I'm blanking on the other two, I'll be honest.
Okay.
So let me just put it to you like this, Dono.
When we look at these things, we must ask ourselves,
who belongs where in terms of, you know, the tournaments
and what they've been so far and all that good stuff?
And when you're looking at the Big 12 and who they have left,
you have to admit without any doubt about it, Houston has been primetime TV for quite some time.
And then they're playing Kansas because of course Kansas made it.
And Kansas has the juiciest bit of drama going on in college basketball, strictly on court stuff.
We know about the Cal Baker stuff.
We're not going to talk about that on this show.
But in terms of on court drama, the Darren Peterson saga, whether he plays or not,
whether he's healthy or not, whether he's a healthy scratch in his own book where he just decides,
you know what?
I don't really feel like it today.
You're in a very intriguing situation there.
So don't get me wrong.
When you think about Cameron Boozer and all the knee brings, superstar power, you think about Jay Lucas and his story and how, you know, he has bought this team from a very dark place of a coach quitting mid-season last year.
Coach Laranagan said,
hmm, you know, after the first couple weeks of this season,
I think it's best for all parties for me to go right now.
Don't wait for me to come back from the holiday, right now,
and what he's done.
Coach Brownell and the fact that one of his best players
tore their ACL and they come out and get a wonderful win against UNC
in which they dominated for much of that game and fought back.
To stave off, an amazing comeback.
UNC. It just does not compete with some of the stories that you're seeing out of the
Big 12 in terms of Arizona being one of the top teams early in the season, in terms of Iowa
State and what they've been all year. It just, you know, so the big names get the big platform.
It's our job to make more big names. It's our job that our preseason ACC player the
year was not smiling and laughing after a third defeat against UVA this year.
Looking at you, Darry and Williams. It's our job as a conference to make sure things like that.
All right. So in the latter game tonight, Duke is a 10 and a half point favorite against Clemson.
And Duke beat them by 13 points when they met at Cameron in the regular season.
What I remember about that first meeting, Kenton was, Clemson was pretty darn ice cold from beyond the three point line.
They only hit 25% of their threes.
They did, I guess, I mean, you know, they lost, it was 68 to 55.
something like that. So they held Duke under 70 points, which is something. So they played some
defense in that game, but just couldn't score enough. But after watching Duke last night and really
kind of a heroic effort from Florida State, I mean, that was tremendous. They had the opportunity
on the buzzer beater at the end, but Duke moves on. And we know Duke has injuries throughout this
ACC tournament. Caleb Foster is out indefinitely with a broken foot. Patrick and Gongba hasn't been
playing. I think they're saving him for the NCAA tournament. So I don't know, do you feel like Duke
might be vulnerable and maybe Clemson on their hot streak at a neutral site can get it done
tonight despite being double-digit dogs? Here's the thing. I'm not saying it's impossible.
I'm not saying that Clemson can't, you know, possibly pull this thing off and make good things
happen here. But what I'm saying is playing up against one of the tallest, one of the biggest teams
in America missing Carter Welling, it doesn't. It doesn't. It doesn't.
doesn't bid well. That dog don't hunt, as the ancestors would say. So I think that Clemson is in
trouble from that standpoint. Is it possible that they pull us off? Absolutely. Absolutely.
I mean, Duke has made it very clear that they're like, we kind of like we care, but like,
yeah, we'll be all right. That's what I, I think there's a lot, and they could still very well
win tonight. Don't get me wrong, but I do feel like they're, they're kind of coasting through the
ACC tournament to try to get healthy for the big dance. Exactly. And,
And when you coast another team, you know, I drive a Honda accord, okay?
A hellcat is much faster than my car, all right?
It just is debatable.
But if that hail cat is coasted and I'm throwing mine in speed
and I'm putting my foot through the floor darn near, I might be able to gap it.
You know what I mean?
I might be able to get me a little way in there.
Same type of deal here where, again, Clemson has a chance.
It seems like Duke is very content to say, long as our guys get healthy,
as long as we don't, you know, do anything catastrophic here.
This doesn't seem like this is a sweet delaying situation for Duke.
This doesn't seem like they're like,
we're better than you, but we need to show you how much better we are than you
every single play.
It doesn't seem like that.
So ultimately, yes, Clemson has a chance.
Clemson, nobody gets more out of their roster than Branoe.
That's a very balanced team, and they play good defense.
Those are things that win, and they've got experienced guards.
Those are things that win in March.
We are in March.
However, that Duke front court, even without some of their stars, still a lot to overcome.
So the earlier matchup tonight at 7, obviously one I'm invested in with Miami taking on Virginia.
And this is another rematch.
UVA beat Miami by 3 in Charlottesville back in February.
Miami won one rematch yesterday against Louisville.
They're going to try to go two for two here on the revenge tour.
Virginia understandably favored.
They're actually only favored by three and a half.
I think it opened at four and a half.
The numbers shrank a little bit.
For me, I think the big keys, Kent and for Miami,
we've seen, you know,
the hurricanes need to be successful at what they've been good at all season.
And that's points in the paint, playing physical.
This is a really good rebounding battle between both of these teams who do that very well.
Virginia, of course, as NC State found out yesterday with Enseigneo,
the big man in the middle, the 7-5 wingspan.
He's going to try to block his shots.
I think for Miami, the key is going to be trying to get Virginia into foul trouble because they play physical and they have struggled from that point of view in getting into foul trouble.
I think Miami's going to get to the line quite a bit in this game.
But for the hurricanes, you know, they obviously have had a great year to get to this point.
But sometimes the self-sabotage creeps in in the inability to make free throws.
And that was why the game was closer than it should have been against Louisville yesterday because Miami only hit 66 percent.
from the charity stripe, which is just not good enough.
It's really not a charity stripe for Miami.
It's a challenge for Miami.
So I think the canes need to put UVA into foul trouble.
They need to score in the paint, but they've got to convert their free throws
or else they're not going to beat the team that it's going to have some advantages tonight in Virginia.
You know, another thing about this Miami team that I've talked about a lot and said,
hey, they need to get better at is their three-point shooting.
as a team they shot 38% against
against Clemson or I'm sorry against
Louisville. Who did they play that around? Louisville.
Yes, against Louisville. That's what gets you a win if you're Miami.
Even if you are not getting the calls, even if you are not
necessarily getting everything going your way and it's a tough whistle
and they're letting them play, you can still win if you find a way to shoot
the lights out, shoot above what you've been shooting all season,
which has been a struggle for Miami. However, with
Miami's current style of play
and what we know about them,
you're right, Donald.
The only shot they got,
draw some files.
Draw some files,
and that's pretty much it.
I will say this.
Virginia has not lost.
Actually, Donna, I'll let you guess.
What guess the date
of Virginia's last loss
to a team that is not
the number one overall team
in the nation?
Oof.
I don't know.
I'm just going to throw out of date here.
I don't know.
January 16th.
almost eight days after that, January 24th.
I figured it was January.
That was their last loss against the team not named Duke.
This UVA team is a bowling ball of butcher knives,
and people do not realize it.
They, again, the seven-foot factory, they just go in this store.
They're just like, hey, let me get.
Matter of fact, let me get two.
Actually, wait, I think y'all got that Bath and Body Works deal.
Bouturet, get a third free.
Let's get a third one actually in here.
Because I'm telling you, they are, the length that they have is scary.
But the other part of it is the length that makes their guard play kind of fly under the radar.
The length and all that you think about with all the shot blocking, you get so invested,
you get so bought into, man, Virginia can just, they can just wear you down physically.
They can just beat you up physically that you start to forget.
Wait a minute.
This team also has guards that are very experienced and playing very good basketball.
Wait a minute.
You're not looking at it.
situation where the Ritter goes down and they have nothing left because, I mean,
Dallin Hall can do it as well, not saying that he's going to be your primary score and he's
going to be the guy that's going to carry you with a 30-point game or anything like that,
but he's going to stir the drink in a way that gets everybody involved, that gets the
non-biggs involved as well.
You're looking at a Virginia team that, again, they play inside-out basketball.
Nobody's going to question that.
Nobody's going to sit here and lie to you and say, oh, the guards are more important than
their bigs.
but they've got multiple guys that can get it done.
Malik Thomas, a little bit of do-everything,
has been a little bit of a do-everything guy for them.
And ultimately, you're looking at a team that top to bottom, very deep, very much so,
a bunch of big guys in the inside, but they are complimented by guards who space the floor well,
who drive and kick well, and they take care of the ball like nobody's business.
Well said.

Speaking of, I mentioned Kenton that the Big 12 gets the preferential billing tonight on regular ESPN.
Like, not, not, does that even make that much of a difference anymore?
Because now it's like I go on the ESPN app and it's like, I just go to the game I want.
I don't care if it's on ESPN 1 or 2, right?
You know how I get my games?
I go to Disney Plus app.
I got the Disney Plus app.
And so you go directly to.
I don't know what's on ESPN 1.
I'm on ESPN.
It might be on the Ocho for all I know.
I don't know.
Hey, listen, I know the baldhead fools people, but I'm a millennial, folks.
I'm not a Jackson.
I am not a baby boomer.
My TV comes from plugging in my Xbox and said, all right, what's going on here?
You know what I mean?
So I'm so sad that these tournaments are coming to an end.
But, you know, thank God, love his blind reunion.
You know what we ain't got to get to that.
Long story short.
ESPN, ESPN2.
It's all the same just about these days.
Yeah, but okay, so did you see, this is before we get into football, the Big 12, they were using that LED court where they were basically playing on top of a giant iPad.
Like it was like a glass LED court.
There were projections on it.
I admit, I thought it was pretty cool.
Like I thought, hey, this is a really cool thing.
They're trying.
Like it looks like something you'd see it, like the sphere in Vegas.
But come to find out when you play on.
on glass instead of on hardwood, it changes the complexion of a basketball game and apparently
it increases the injury risk. So the Big 12 is ditching the iPad court and they're going to go
back to Hardwood for tonight. I'm proud of them for trying. Yeah. Let me just say that, right? I'm
proud of any conference that tries new innovative stuff. However, I believe I want to channel one of one of the
elders in my family who said, you don't experiment on Thanksgiving. You don't experiment
and then put onions in the mac and cheese on Thanksgiving, right?
You experiment with a game like this for like the tip off.
You know, like an exhibit, yeah, like a, like a November exhibition, right?
Exactly, exactly.
But you're experimenting on the big day when all the family's there and everybody
want to get them some good mac and cheese.
The only thing that should be going in there is your different cheeses, a good brew,
some good, all that type of stuff.
That's the noodles, you know what I mean?
That's it.
That's it.
And then a specific type of noodle.
Don't come over here with no, with no, with no.
no pin-A noodles for mac and cheese.
You know, it's the wrong type of noodle.
They messed around and experimented on Thanksgiving.
And ultimately, the biggest thing I look at, the injury risk, right?
As an athlete, as a former athlete, rather,
I look at these things not from just a standpoint of like what looks cool
and what is like a great thing from the outside.
These are real human beings bodies on that court.
Yeah.
Like, these are real people that are out there playing that game.
And when I played, I wanted everything to be the same.
I want to be on the same field.
I want to be on the same grass.
I want to be in the same locker room.
I want everything the same when I play.
So dealing with a terrain that's entirely different, right?
Going from a hardwood court to like you said, this iPad, this soft, bendy fiberglass that they made with more give than hardwood.
It's just, it's a good idea.
Your heart was in the right place.
The execution was poor.
Even my eight-year-old son who plays soccer, he gets really mad.
when he has to play on artificial turf to the point where it's like it's I'm just like just play like
who cares but he gets very upset when the artificial turf comes into play all right let's get to these
uh football over unders for this coming season all right so this is the donno degenerate segment
of the episode everybody donno's degenerates come to the front I'm I'm looking kenton you tell
me if you feel like this one's as much of a lock uh as I do so here let's go through this first
And no, I don't think Miami is a lock either way.
So the hurricanes, and this goes to show you what the perception is on ACC football for this coming season,
Miami is a full two wins higher than any other team in the conference with the win total.
They've got Miami at 10 and a half.
And Kenton, as we've discussed, this is only regular season.
This does not include conference title game, whatever postseason you play in.
So even as a Miami guy who can wear my orange and green colored glasses from time to time,
I do not see value in taking the Miami over.
For as confident as people may feel,
and hey, like the only game they're going to be an underdog in is Notre Dame.
Maybe you lose that one.
But even if you lose that one, you should win all your others.
I do not feel confident in taking over 10 and a half from Miami,
nor would I feel good about taking the under because they probably will win 11 games next year.
but I don't find value in that, okay?
So then after Miami, you've got SMU is next up at eight and a half.
Clemson, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and UVA are all at seven and a half.
NC State at six and a half.
I'm actually feeling pretty good about that over.
Georgia Tech, Florida State, Cal also at six and a half.
Wake Forest at five and a half.
I mean, they just won eight games in the regular season last year.
Put some respect.
Duke at five and a half.
happens when you lose your two best offensive players. North Carolina at four and a half,
Syracuse, four and a half, Boston College and Stanford at three and a half. And I don't
know why this graphic has Virginia Tech at NA, because I'm pretty sure Fandual has Virginia Tech
at seven and a half. So I'm going to assume that's the number for them. But Kenton, do you
agree? I think SMU over eight and a half, I think I'm locking that in because if we all believe
that's the second best team in the conference on paper.
I think eight and a half is a low number for them.
Donald, that's not where you get the most squeeze out of this juice here.
Where?
Or the most juice out of this squeeze.
You know where the most juice is?
Where?
Under six and a half for Florida State.
I'm sprinting down the hill.
You understand?
I'm sprinting.
I'm giving it everything I got.
Nothing, but as they say, as coaches say, I don't want to see nothing,
behind and elbows. That's what you're going to see with me running the Fanduels
headquarters because I need that like an IV needle needs a vein. You understand? I need that
bet like Aquaman needs water. I'm not a bet. Again, this is Donno's degenerate second
person today. I'm all, listen, just because I do it a lot doesn't mean I'm good at it. So I'm
always open to suggestion. And I'm telling you, Dono, this is a suggestion. Remember last year,
What was the bet I told you?
I would run down the hill to make it.
What was the one?
What was the one?
I don't, I don't.
It was fading North Carolina.
Was it North Carolina under?
Yep.
A North Carolina under.
That was the bet that I told you to take last year.
You would have been eating like a king.
I'm not a better.
I'm not a better.
But I'm telling you right now,
Mike Norville will not be their coach come Halloween.
He will be gone.
This team will have packed it in by them.
This will be a season where Florida State does not make a bowl game,
or if they do make a bowl game, it will be a terrible one,
and they'll say, we're declined because we're looking for our new coach.
We're going to go through the process of looking for a new coach and all that good stuff.
And I know only regular season games counting under overs,
but still, Florida State is not getting over six.
They're not getting over six.
Go ahead and book it.
Right now, that under six is where I see all the value.
the great value, the low value, the high value, I see all the value in that bet there.
Yeah, and I agree with you because we went over, I think at some point last week,
we went through Florida State Schedule and like there's a decent chance that they're
three and five on Halloween, which is right before their by week, which could be when Norville gets
part. So if you start your season three and five, you got four regular season games left,
Your chances of winning more than six games are pretty slim.
But I want to get Kenton's take on a few more of these, specifically.
What do we do over under for Clemson?
What do we do for North Carolina and Syracuse,
whose numbers are both very low?
You want to keep it locked right here.

Nostalgia candy bag flavor impression.

Kent and Gibbs and Grayson Boone do a great job
talking all things NC State on
Locked on Wolfpack.
I talk all things Miami Hurricanes on Locked on Cains.
All right.
So, I mean, do you agree, Kenton on Miami's
10 and a half?
This is the exact over under I predicted last week.
And I think the number is so good.
I don't, I'm not doing anything with it.
Like I'm not taking the over.
or the under, or do you feel like maybe you take the under if there's more value there?
You know, what I'm seeing right there, I think that there will be more value on the under than the
owner.
Yeah.
I think that more people will be believing, hey, Miami's going to win these 11 games, easy,
peasy.
They could sleepwalk through 11, but we've seen Miami, right?
And this is with all due respect.
This is not me, this in Miami, this is me being honest here.
Miami last year, how many games were they underdogs in?
Right?
Like, and yet in the regular season, they lost two games where they were favored.
Yeah, I think they were the only game that they were an underdog was the opener against Notre Dame, if I'm not mistaken.
And they won that game.
So even in a season where, and that's what I'm saying here, Dono, even in the season where you're an underdog against Notre Dame and you beat Notre Dame to start the season off.
So we'll even have to wait till later in the season to figure out.
what the result of the game that you're the underdog end would be,
you win that game.
And so it looks like, oh, they're going to run the table, right?
Or they're going to get close to it.
And yet you lose two where I believe they were favored by, what was it?
One of them they were favored by double digits four.
And the other, I mean, you were, what, seven and a half or six and a half?
Either way, you just, you hate to see it.
You hate to see it.
And that's why I'm not sold on taking me over for 10.
and a half. That's just a very high number. And I'm not saying that Miami is a bad team by any
stress of imagination. I'm just saying if I'm going to take you for 10 and a half over,
I've got to feel like your dominance is on the way. Shear dominance, the likes of which we
rarely ever see. And I don't think this team has that to make me believe that they're going to
do that. I think seven and a half for Clemson, again, spot on. What do you do with that?
Do you, because I don't even know which would, I don't even know if the over or under would be better.
Maybe there's better value on the over because it's like, Dabo can't win eight games.
So I, I think the number's perfect.
I think there's more value in the over than the under for Clemson.
There, this one leaves me so perplexed.
This one leaves me so perplexed because when I look at the underovers from the seven and a half group,
I would probably want to take that Virginia under as like my, you know, that's, that's the easy one.
But sticking to just Clemson here, I genuinely don't know, Donald.
I wish I had a clear answer to say, oh, yeah, that makes a ton of sense for Clemson.
Because I want to say eight makes sense.
I do.
But you're looking at a new quarterback.
You're looking at an offensive coordinator that while he may be familiar to dabble,
who on this offensive, which offensive player played under Chad Morris last time?
I don't think any.
Oh, okay.
So you're looking at a new coordinator as well,
breaking in the new quarterback and in the backfield,
Chris Johnson, Jr.,
who's supposed to be one of your feature backs,
new guys as well.
And the wide receiving corps,
we thought the world of them last year,
a lot of people are a lot less high on them.
I mean,
defensively,
you're losing two first-round guys.
I'm not sure.
I'm not sure that I want to go
under over there.
This is one of those picks that makes me happy.
I'm not one of Dono's degenerates because I will keep my money in my pocket.
I will keep my money gladly because this is one that's just very perplexing.
Well, what about okay, so the teams that are pretty low here.
And I mentioned Wake Forest five and a half.
They did win eight regular season games last year.
I know it was like, and nine with the bowl games was like the quietest nine win season ever.
you know, Duke at, Duke at five and a half, UNC and Syracuse, four and a half.
Like, are you taking overs on any of those?
Because I don't know, man.
I know UNC was awful last year.
Their roster maybe looks good enough to win five games.
I might go over on UNC.
Here's the thing.
I'm not taking any over for, you know, Syracuse, UNC, any of those guys.
However, you cannot convince me because I'm a huge.
And I mean this with all due respect to all the other coaches in the conference,
I think we have a lot of quality coaches.
I think that we need to get some better coaches into some schools.
One school that I think has found their guy that the only problem is,
how long will he be there is Dickert at Wake Forest.
I mean, when you look at their schedule and you look at what they dealt with last year, right,
I want to point out their schedule and say,
where do you see a ton of losses coming from?
And I'm not even going to talk about their in conference.
I'm just going to talk about their out of conference, okay?
You got Akron, win or loss?
That's a win.
Purdue, winter loss.
That could be a win, probably.
It is at Purdue, though, I think.
Merrimat.
Merrimack, winter loss.
That's a win.
Okay.
That's their full out of conference slate, Donna.
That's their full out of conference slate.
Even their in conference slate,
If you look at what they got in conference, Miami, Louisville, and Miami, Louisville, maybe NC State, and that's just about it.
Oh, and SMU are the only games I can almost guarantee you there'll be underdogs in.
But Stanford, Cal, Georgia Tech, Duke, I mean, even if you said some of those games were pickums, they're under over is five and a half.
That's him.
So you give them the full out of conference slate because Purdue is, I mean,
whoof, lost in the water.
You're looking at Akron, their Akron.
You're looking at Merrimack.
That's, to me, that's three.
And then all you need is three more.
I think you could easily find three more in their conference slate.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm with you.
I'm with you on that for sure.
What about Boston College?
I know they won two games last year.
So I get like their number.
I get it.
Bill O'Brien is taking back over the play calling duties.
Does that for you, Kent, does that guarantee they go under three and a half?
Because I don't know, I feel like for me, to go under three and a half is always a tough sell.
I'll say the same thing for Stanford.
I don't know.
I might take overs on both of those because the numbers are so low.
Here's the thing, right?
I get what you're saying, Donald.
It's too low to go under.
It's too low to go on.
Bill O'Brien is your head coach and you're giving him more responsibility.
Give me that under.
Give me that under.
I need it.
I need it.
I know I need it.
I want it and I got to have it.
Now, Stanford on the other hand, I mean, here's the thing, right?
When you talk about getting over under for three and a half, at that point, it's don't be a clown show.
Like literally, when you really think about it, three and a half games basically means, hey, beat somebody in your out of conference schedule and don't be embarrassed.
conference. Stanford is a team that even last year with a lame duck coach that was de facto a lame
duck coach that everybody knew, hey, this is a one year guy. They tried really hard. They gave
everything that they had. And did it always go well for? No, there were some ugly blowouts in there.
But you know what also happened? They got some wins where you were left like, wait, what?
They beat whom? And so I believe that that team and the pride that they have as a program with
the infusion of funds that they got as well from a random donor not named
Andrew Smuck.
It kind of works out for them that I think they'll be a little bit more talented.
I think they'll be a little bit better.
I think that they'll smash that over.
Yeah, that's a good call.
