It's official now. Will Wade is headed back to LSU and NC State got screwed.
You are Locked on ACCC, your daily podcast on the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Part of the Locked on Podcast Network, your team every day.
He is Kenton Gibbs from Locked on Wolfpack.
I'm Alex Dono from Locked on Cains, and today's episode of Locked on ACC is brought to you by Mazda.
Like our players, we're driven by the details.
Highlights make the real, but the work behind them makes it count.
Stay tuned for this week's moving the game forward.
The all-new Mazda CX-5, more to move every side of you.
On this loaded episode, we'll talk about Duke versus St. John's.
He got John Shire and Rick Petino going head to head tonight in the Sweet 16.
We'll talk about some details, ACCC spring football, details from Clemson, SMU, and Miami.
Miami just started spring.
Clemson's about to finish.
They got their spring game coming up on.
Saturday. But it was official. KG and our last episode on Wednesday, we talked about the smoke,
which has turned into a very large fire now of Will Wade heading back to Baton Rouge to become
LSU's coach. Remember, they fired him four years ago after bringing a ton of NCAA violations
and penalties, but they wanted Will Wade back. And I would be totally understanding, Kenton,
especially after the conversation we had on this show on Wednesday with those rumors that Will Wade tried to diffuse and clearly he was lying.
And rumors about him returning to LSU go all the way back to before the season even started.
And then before the season, he's talking about how NC State he's going to make them, you know, be able to compete with the Dukes and the Carolinas and the ACC.
And how he's going to bring them to prominence and they have everything he needs to succeed.
and then he goes running back to LSU the first opportunity he gets.
So, you know, Kenton, let's pick up on our last conversation.
You mentioned, you know, on Wednesday there was reportedly going to be kind of a Hail Mary meeting between NC State Brass, A.D.
Booth, Corrigan, and a contingent with Will Wade.
Did that meeting ever happen?
If it did, it obviously didn't go well.
So there were two meetings scheduled.
There was the first Hail Mary meeting and then a second meeting that was supposed to happen.
the second meeting was ghosted by Wade in his camp.
Here's the thing.
Here's the thing.
And I said this on Locked on Wolfpack,
but I want to make this kind of locked on ACC.
And I'll even add Donnell into it, okay?
Anybody who has any film, any evidence,
any anything along those lines of me saying out of my mouth,
if you sign with the Wolfpack to play for NC State,
if you sign to coach NC State,
if you do anything involving NC State where you say,
hey, I'm committed to coming to NC State, and you leave at any point in time, you are
automatically a scumbag, you're a bad person, you're a terrible.
If you have film of me saying that, I will give you $10,000, $5,000 to you personally,
$5,000 a year, whatever NIL collective you would imagine.
I love the money, but I can't produce that video.
Because it doesn't exist.
It doesn't exist.
AI might be able to make it, maybe.
I'm sure somebody's on Saw right now with a very odd looking ball.
man, it probably looks like being raped saying, come to N-Tister, RL.
But the reality is, you're right, Donald.
That video doesn't exist because I've never been that guy.
Even when I played an NIL was not a thing I understood that this was a business.
I went through certain things in my recruiting experience to show me this was a business.
But here's the deal.
There's a way to go about doing business, even in business.
Even in the most, you know, the worst games or the dirtiest of games in terms of business.
There's a way to do business.
And I want to make this clear, the same way I said, I have no problem with Miami going to get Darry and Minson.
I have no problem with LSU going to get Willey.
I have no problem.
Miami was in the business of finding the best quarterback available.
Donno, do you think Darian Minson was the best quarterback available?
I certainly do, especially after watching him practice now a couple times.
And now, did you ever hear me say, Miami is Mario and his staff?
I can't believe it.
You never said that.
I don't remember.
Some of the shows we've done together, like squad shows.
Others have complained, not Kevin Gibbs.
Okay.
So the same thing applies here.
I'm not mad at LSU at all.
The university is in the business of competing winning championships,
finding the best coaches, players,
admin, staff, all that that they can.
There's nothing wrong with that.
my problem is directly with Will Wade.
My problem, the only problem I have with LSU is their fans who,
and not even the fans that are trolling,
the fans who are trying to gaslight people in the,
Will Wade never told a lie to anybody.
What do you mean?
He did coach speak to the public.
Again, everything that I have read on this show or a Locked-on-Wapck
from off of my phone was direct from a source
that is at the highest level.
And I received multiple texts and calls
because all of the past couple of days,
I've been on my phone nonstop.
Hey, what's going on?
What do you know?
What was this?
Who was taking on?
There were some things that I could share with all.
There are certain things that I couldn't.
There are some things that I can't share with y'all now
that I couldn't before.
But the reality is when you look at this situation,
it is very clear.
And it's very clear by one thing.
If you don't believe nothing else I say,
look at one thing and one thing only every single outlet in the triangle had the exact same information
every single outlet in the triangle doesn't matter how big they are doesn't matter if you're with
w r a l which is the biggest news station year w t bd w c c c doesn't matter or if you were me
everybody had the same information the university said there's nothing here to worry about
from multiple different people because i know we all don't have the same source i know we all don't
don't talk to the same people.
Multiple different people,
all saying there's nothing to worry about,
but somehow everybody in Baton Rouge knew what was going on,
and Will Way was being honest.
Bootho Corp got up there during his press conference
after Will Way left and said,
we also shared the sentiment of the fans
that we relied to and surprised by this.
So again,
Buchar did confirm that.
I said in the last eight days,
he said,
in the last five days, there were conversations had after NC State was put out of the NCAA tournament saying, do I need to worry about this?
And he was told no.
And that to me is why anything that happens to Willoway, again, the Jacarious Peak left NC State to go to South Carolina.
He tore his knee up and I instantly felt terrible for the young man.
Instantly felt terrible for the young man.
It wasn't like, ah, ha, ha, that's what you get for leaving NC State.
Will Wade, on the other hand, I would not care if the.
that man got scratched off the senses.
I would simply say, yikes.
And anyhow, in other news, ACC spring practice.
Because to lie to everybody and then try to gaslight everybody
and then try to spend this narrative of, oh, we'll wait.
Nobody said anything to we'll wait until Tuesday.
And then Tuesday, that's when everything, come on, dog.
It's okay.
It's okay.
And to the LSU fans that are honest about it, they're just like, hey,
when we want to coach a boss you, we're going to get them.
We don't care how we do it.
More power to you.
respect you. The ones that are sitting up here, Will Wade never told a lot. Where's the lie?
We can point out a bunch of different lies to a bunch of different people.
Yeah. Well, I go back to something you said about the LSU fans who are claiming Will Wade never
lied. Keep in mind, Kent, and that's the same group that has to do all these mental gymnastics
to make Lane Kiffin seem like a great guy. So they are very well rehearsed on this stuff.
They were in mid-season form by the time Will Wade took that job. You know what, Donno? They
do have some championships and gymnastics
gymnastics down there. It's all
making sense now. Now we're doing the knowledge.
Now, like the SEC,
we do the knowledge. We do
the knowledge. They've been preparing for this
gymnastics for you. But in all
seriousness, that's kind of where I stand
with this thing, right? I don't, you know,
I don't ever tell anybody you're bound to
NC State or you're bound to the ACCC
or you're bound to whatever school. You heard
the excitement in my voice talking about
Kendra-G Raphael going to
SMU. When you're
He left to go to Cal.
When he left to go to Cal, I was happy for him.
I said, man, it's looking like he's not going to get to touch.
I hope he goes out there and crushes it.
And he did.
And I was excited to talk about him.
I'm excited to talk about him at SMU.
I'm excited to talk about these former NC State guys.
Would I love it for them to stay at NC State member?
Absolutely.
But it's a business.
And if these young men do what's best for themselves in business, not going to stop them for that.
If these grown men do what's best for themselves in business, I'm not going to stop.
I'm not going to judge it.
for that. I will judge you if you're sitting there saying, I'm back, boys. Hey, Red Band
Raff is back. And then all of a sudden, we're looking up, why is his locker cleaned out?
Where is he? Why is he on a tarmac to San Berkeley? That's a different situation.
So again, Willway leaving even after one year. Would it sting? Would I be happy to have a one-year
coach? No. But had he just been honest, had I heard from my sources within the university,
Hey, yeah, there's real smoke behind this and we're doing our best to address it.
Please don't say anything publicly.
Cool.
I would have been cool with the way that everything happened.
But to a lot of people when you had no reason to lie, it's confusing.
It's shameless.
It's scummy.
And that's why, again, whatever happens to that man in life, oh, more part of them.
It's a dirty business.
And as I said on Wednesday, and I'll say it again, I just hope that people have the same energy
for a coach who does this
that they do for when players transfer.
I see the way, y'all, as Kenton would say,
you call these kids everything but a child of God
when they leave a program, right?
And then when, and obviously NC State fans are upset,
rightfully so about Will Wade,
but I want to see the energy from the neutrals.
Like I want to see people see what happened here
and put him under the same criticism
that you have for players when they leave programs.
But yeah, I do want to talk some spring football
because got some updates on SMU and Kendrick Raphael,
who you mentioned, is very much a part of that.
Clemson's got their spring game coming up on Saturday.
I've been at Miami Spring Practice, which started earlier this week.
You want to keep it locked right here.
We got your nuggets on this brand new episode of Locked on ACC.
Keep it locked.
This is moving the game forward by Mazda.
For those who know, the score never tells the whole story.
John Shire is not only moving the game forward, but he's carrying the entire ACC on his back tonight because Duke is the only ACC program left in the Sweet 16.
They've got a battle with St. John's this evening.
And hopefully, and I say this begrudgingly because it's Duke, but ACC overall else right now, hopefully they can get it done this evening and keep it moving.
And folks, Shire is doing an incredible job, especially having to takeover for a legend.
like Coach K. There's more to these coaches and players than the highlights, the early mornings,
the late night runs, constantly showing up for their squad on and off the court. The all-new Mazda
CX-5 moves the same way with more space to connect, a bold new design and more intuitive technology.
So you can stay connected to the road and every position you play. The all-new Mazda CX-5,
more to move every side of you.
folks the tournament is in full swing this is one of the best times of the year brackets buzzer beaters upsets
its nonstop action from tip to final cut down and right now fan duel is giving new customers a way
to stay in the action all tournament long here's the best part you get up to $300 back in bonus
bets every day for 10 days that means 10 chances to stay involved throughout the entire tournament
this is amazing you can mix it up however you want game picks
futures, even same game parlays for bigger potential payouts, which I love.
It's perfect for the tournament because every day there's something new,
different matchups, new storylines, and more ways to get involved as the bracket unfolds.

Kenton Gibbs from Lockedon
Locked-on Wolfpack, and I'm Alex Dono from Locked-on Canes here on Locked on ACC.
And so I've been checking in, Kent, in the last couple days on how spring football is going for SMU,
who has the second best odds to win the ACC at plus 700.
And what everybody's talking about KG is their very deep running back stable.
And it starts with Cal Transfer is also a former NC State Wolfpack in Kendrick Raphael at 511, 200 pounds.
they also have a big bruiser back in Doak Green who weighs 220.
So a little bit more of a bowling ball at 6 foot 220.
Good change of pace.
And in fact, one of the criticisms I've had of SMU's roster the last few years is they don't have enough big running backs.
Like they use all the little tiny, shifty guys, but they don't have the bruisers for short yardage.
And they have that now.
L.J. Rone is another running back.
Interesting.
He converted from wide receiver.
our guy Grayson Singleton and locked on SMU was talking about him.
So, yeah, I mean, we talk about the quarterbacking and the wide receivers, Kevin Jennings and his group of receivers.
But running back is another strength, Kenton, for SMU, and they're getting rave reviews this spring.
It really does more of my heart to see how well Kendrick Raphael has done, man.
Because he's not just a great play.
He's a wonderful young man.
And I genuinely mean that.
Everybody I've talked to about the young man, I have not heard.
I didn't hear one bad thing about him at NC State, didn't hear one bad thing about him out at Berkeley.
It warms my heart to see, you know, it's obviously nobody wants the transfer portal work the way it has in some degree.
But SMU has utilized it masterfully.
They've utilized it masterfully.
And now they've built up a stable of, like you said, very talented and very unique backs.
Because I'm going to tell you, Grimm, he could have been used a lot of times last year, right?
He could have been used a lot of times to say there were multiple games that SMU lost last year.
And everybody said, why couldn't they hold on to the lead?
You know why?
You know what stops you from being able to hold on to the lead having that big old bowling ball.
That gives you three yards.
He falls forward for a yard and a half.
Even if you don't get too much.
It gets it.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Three.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Boom.
give me that four.
It's the Miami offensive game plan that we saw the work last year.
When Beck was not fully in rhythm with his receivers,
it was give it to Fletcher.
Boom, pull, pull, pull.
We're going to get what we got going.
Enough of Amonamata P is for me.
But you get the point.
Yeah.
It is the reality of, you know, having a situation where you have a back that can pick up
those tough yards and that kind of helps you milk that clock.
Milk it slowly but surely, do what you need to do, let these games wind down.
There were multiple games where it's like SMU's got this in the bag,
but oh, man, no scatbacks.
They can't lean on a pile.
When you're dedicating a lot of bodies into the box
and you're no longer looking at a light box,
you've got to have a guy that with a little bit of tonnage to them
that can lean and fall forward.
They have that now.
And I'm going to tell you,
Ketheel is no small guy either.
No, 200 pounds for a college running back.
I'm going to tell you, that's a little bit of a load.
So I'm truly excited to see how this running back rotation
and SMU's running game as a whole takes off this year.
Yeah, like when I'm reading about their running back rotation,
and it reminds me a little bit of Miami's.
I've been covering Miami spring ball.
And just full disclosure, first couple of spring practices,
not the best time to really evaluate running backs
because the pads haven't come on yet.
So, you know, the contact is minimal.
But we know what Miami's got because they return their,
all of their five running backs from last year,
and they add a capable freshman four-star JVion Mallory to that group.
But, you know, Mark Fletcher played at 225 last year.
He looks maybe a little bit trimmer.
It looks like he's maybe shed a couple of, you know, the baby fat pounds and added some muscle.
You know, Marty Brown is back, who was around 230 last year.
He was a short-yarded specialist for Miami.
Gerard Pringle, who was a shifty freshman back around 185 pounds last year.
he's back. Jordan Lyle, who was injured for most of last year, broke out the year before.
He's still on the squad. And it sounds like SMU has a backfield that can maybe almost
contend with Miami's. But we'll circle back to the U.
I want to get to Clemson here, Kenton, because they're actually wrapping up spring ball this Saturday.
They got their spring game coming up tomorrow. And I know that the big question,
and unfortunately, their spring game will not be televised. So, you know, unless you and I can get like
impromptu travel plans to Death Valley by tomorrow.
We're not going to be able to see this with our own eyes.
But we've been looking at their quarterback competition, and it seems like the three names
that are in play there, Chris Visina, who's the most experienced, you know, started a game
last year when Cade Clubnick was out.
He's in the mix.
I get the sense that the fan base in Clemson is not very enthused about Visina.
Like he threw a ton of interceptions in their spring game last year.
I don't get the sense, and maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get the sense that their fan base wants him to win that job.
You also have redshirt freshman Chris Denson, who I hear is very popular there.
He got some action last year.
He's mobile.
Like, he's a legit dual threat guy.
I'm not sure how great his arm is, but I know he can run and they're fans like him.
And then freshman Tate Reynolds is also in the mix there.
So I think the thing that we're all most curious about is who emerged.
as their starting quarterback.
And I'll ask this question, Kenton,
if it is Visina who comes out with that starting job,
is that an indictment on the rest of that quarterback room?
Because I don't feel like he's very good.
And if he wins that job,
it may say a lot about what else they have.
I will say this entire battle has been an indictment of Chris Visina.
And I want to make that clear.
You've been in that room for three years.
Dono, how rare is it for a quarterback now
to be in a room for three years and not be the got defensively coming out.
Yeah, that's weird.
Yeah.
They didn't go into the transfer portal go get somebody, which means what?
Normally, the guy that's been there for forever in a day, and I know, I know it feels weird
to say if God being a place three years is forever in a day in college football.
But just as a reminder, that running back that we were so excited to talk about,
three years ago was two schools ago.
You see what I'm saying?
Like, that's the reality of college football now.
That's the reality.
you know, Hollywood's mothers that I love so much.
He's down in Alabama now.
That's his third school, Oklahoma.
He ended up in Texas, actually.
He committed to Bama and then he swapped it for Texas.
Well, either way you cut and slice it, you know,
shout out to my boy, Sosabandros.
And again, I'm laughing with you, not at you,
but either way you cut it and slice it,
we're talking about a guy that's been in that room for three years.
That should be definitively your job.
We could tell from Miami's quarterback
room. Do they have anybody that's been
in there for three years that made Mario say
why would we want to pay out Duke's quarterback?
Yeah, you know, they had a guy
who was in there for three years
and finally he left
and that was Emery Williams who's now at ECU
but that was like he waited probably
longer than people thought he would.
But that's my point, Donald
when it got to that point where it's like
all right, I'm at the three year mark, it's either
you're the guy or you're not.
And it's clear to me that if
The fact that the phrase and the verbiage used was pole position and not, that's our guy.
We know what he can do.
We trust him.
Somebody has to do something amazing to supplant him.
We know, Dalbo's no stranger to starting the younger guy if the younger guy is better.
I mean, we saw it with Trevor Lawrence in the Kelly Bryant situation, but it's ultimately, I think that if he, if Bazina was to win this,
I don't think that's an indictment on those other players because they're younger.
I think it's an indictment on him that this is even a conversation that we're having at this point.
That's a good point. Yeah, that's a really good point.
Going over to Miami, I know a big question you probably have and other people is, you know,
who takes over for Bain and Mezzador?
Damon Wilson transfer from Mizzou is a safe bet, and I know the coaches are really impressed with him.
Like, he's built a little bit different from Bain, obviously.
he's longer, he's got that more prototypical pass rusher size.
I'm anxious to see how he does against the run, though,
because that was like a big strength of Rubin Bain.
The people didn't really talk about was how good he was against the run.
So I want to get a better sense on that with Damon Wilson,
if he's a solid against the run as some of the guys who's come through.
And in terms of who starts on the opposite side,
you know, the prime contenders are Marquise Lightfoot,
who was the third D-N last year behind Bain and Mesedore.
And he's putting on a little size because always the knock on light foot has been,
you know, when he first got to Miami as a true freshman,
he was right around 200 pounds, which is very light for a defense event.
He's since gotten up.
I think last year he played more in the 220, 225 range.
I think he's added on some weight from there.
If I get a chance to talk to him this spring, he hasn't been available to us yet.
I'll ask him, like, what are you weighing these days?
I hope he's at least up to 2.30 at this point.
But I keep hearing really good reviews, though.
And we got a chance to talk to one of Miami's offensive tackles last week, Matt McCoy, who's going to be a starter, starting offensive tackle this year.
And he was raving about Hayden Lowe, who's a former five-star recruit out of Southern California.
He's entering his second year.
Didn't play his first year because he tore his ACL right before the season, but he's good now.
it seems like Lowe is someone who's really turning heads in practice,
so he's definitely a guy to watch out for that other starting job.
Same thing with Armando Blunt, who's a former five-star recruit.
He can play in the interior or outside, so he's a little bit more versatile.
He's in like the 260, 270-pound range, and so that's kind of what's going on there.
And I mentioned on Wednesday, Kenton, that on the offensive line,
I can definitely see true freshman Jackson Cantwell trending towards possibly being the left tackle starter, which is, I mean, obviously you're talking about a guy protecting Darien Mensa's blindside who may be a true freshman, but then at the same time, uh, can't well, we'll find out seems to like a generational guy. So we'll, we'll see if he's up to that task. He's going to have to be working really hard to solidify that position.
Well, where does Mario?
See, now I got some questions
because he's going to that same store
that Odom going to.
That store that Odom went to
to find all those seven foot
is Mario going to the same store.
He told, hey, hey, hey, get out that basketball
a second, get out of there.
Take me to the offensive tackle section.
Give me a big old right tackle
that's going to be the starter
for four or three years till he leave.
Matter of fact, let me get a left tackle
after that right tackle.
Let me get a left tackle.
Let me get a little bit lighter in the feet.
Now, I'll tell you this much.
In terms of being a starting defensive end in power for football,
200 pounds ain't going to cut it.
Lightfoot need to get a lot heavier.
Yeah, and he has.
You know, and I think it might have been 210.
I may have exaggerated a little bit for dramatic effect.
I think it was 210 when he came in.
I know you try to be nice to your boy.
I know you're trying to be nice to your boy.
Not 220.
Not all of a sudden he's 240.
Not all of a sudden he's two.
I'm going to tell you, I'll tell you, even if you're talking 235.
I know that people are going to say, well, this guy's had success in light being a finesse guy, small-landed event, this guy has, those are the exceptions.
By and large, you need to be a big fellow in those trenches.
Because when you think about a defensive scheme, especially one like a 425, if you are left to set an edge at 220 pounds or so, hey, listen, it's probably not going to go well for.
you. And there are freaks of nature, like a Dylan Stewart of South Carolina, who, like,
he's on the thinner side, but he's got to be made of, like, cable wire or something because that
young man, he just jacks these big old tackles up and all that. But by and large, when you see
guys at that size, it presents a liability for your defense in the run game. So naturally, you know,
you're going to hope that that he's put on some good weight, of course. And I'm going to tell you,
At the weights that you're mentioning, 215 or so, hell, even put on some bad weight.
I'm all right with it.
I'm all right with you putting on about 5, 10 pounds of bad weight.
As long as we can make sure that you can anchor down and be serviceable against the run.
Everybody's not going to be Ruben Bain.
Ruben Bann is being discussed as, you know, being a top 10 pick despite having some of the
shortest arms we've ever seen for a defensive end in the combine for a reason.
There's a reason because Ruben Bain was spectacular at almost everything.
This game had virtually no holes.
If you added four inches to both of his arms,
all of a sudden he's the number one picking this thing by mile.
And people aren't even talking about Mendoza and Ty Simpson and Dan O'Loski.
That's not a conversation.
But that's just the reality of where we are.
So I think that, you know, with all of the questions for me for Miami,
defensive line, we know the talent's there.
Offensive line, we know the talents there.
The cohesion of the offensive line is going to be the question.
And with all due respect to you, with all due respect to everybody that covers the games,
you cannot tell me what cohesion of the offensive line looks like from spring practice.
No.
You just can't.
No, you can't.
You can't do it.
You know what I mean?
It's a different thing when guys are trying to tear your quarterback's head off flying by you,
as opposed to guys who got to tap his hit or turn the other way when you know you got to tackle beat like some schools do it.
So, you know, I'm very intrigued to see how that plays out for them.
But like you said, there is a ton of wealth of tap there.
Yeah.
But by the way, I checked Marquis Lightfoot's like official listing.
They've got him at 2.30 now at 6.5.
So we're getting there.
We get there.
That's about the range.
That's the lower end of the range that I would say is acceptable for powerful defensive end.
I'd say 2.30 is like you're headed towards the red area, you know, but you're, you're still to the good to where I'm like, all right now.
Let's go get you some boberry biscuits or what's the big, what's a big takeout spot?
in Miami.
Pollo Tropical.
Let's get you some Pollo Tropical now.
Let's get you some empanautas, brother.
Let's get you some, let's get you eating.
Yeah.
Let's put you some of that good Cuban food.
The vaca frita, the pan con lechon.
Let's fill them up.
Get them a Rubin.
Get them something.
Get them something.
But you know, you're headed towards that direction that you should be.
Anything below 230.
When you're talking about 225 and less, I'm deeply concerned about your ability.
to hold an edge.
No matter who you are,
you have to be freaky generational type
for me to say that.
And even then,
I'm pretty sure Dylan Stewart
is listed at about 240.
Yeah,
I think you're probably right about that.
Yeah.
So listen,
Marquise,
he's putting on the weight.
I'll bring him a bag
of Cuban food
for media day in a few months
because that's no longer a violation.
That used to be like a violation,
you know,
impermissible benefits,
like to bring a player bag of food.
I thought you got the entire food a lot.
I thought you got the entire food
or like don't know.
Oh, sure.
Yeah.
I can bring him a town.
Yeah.
I can bring him that.
Yeah.
There you go.
Make them some of that good chicken par.
Good great chicken par.
You know what I mean?
Bring some of that.
And we can do that now.
Like I remember, I remember how strict the NCAA rules were.
So this was like going back like nine, nine years ago or so.
This was, you know, before NIL and everything.
We were doing a radio show outside of Miami's baseball stadium.
And we had on as a guest, Brad Kaya, who's a former Miami starting
quarterback and like somebody offered him a milkshake because Miami's baseball games, they're
famous for the Mark Light shakes.
Somebody offered a milkshake and he, he declined it.
He's like, if I, if I accept your milkshake, that's an NCAA violation.
Like they couldn't give the guy a milkshake.
The most ridiculous thing I remember was you could eat a bagel, but you couldn't have the
cream cheese or like butter or whatever.
And I'm just sitting there like, hey, guys, hey, let's let's maybe.
revisit this, right?
Like, we're talking about a bagel is fine, but the cream cheese is not.
Who's out here just eating plain bagels?
Okay?
And by the way, if you watch Locked on ACC year every day or you eat plain bagels,
I want better for you, live a better life.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, when we come back, let's talk some Duke Blue Devils.

Duke Blue Devils versus St. John's tonight.
Duke, by the way, is a six and a half point favorite, Kenton, and for the sake of the ACC, we need Duke to keep on dancing into the Elite 8, and I think they will.
Controlling the paint rebounding.
St. Johns has had a weakness in rebounding, Kenton, and you would think Duke and Cameron Boozer would be able to exploit that.
I think Duke is going to cover that six and a half point spread, and hopefully we've got an easy, comfortable late second half this evening.
Donno, Duke had the best thing you could ever have happened to you,
happening in round one.
G. Matt Cash and the guys from Sienna gave Duke the greatest gift
that a team in the round of 64 could have ever gotten,
especially a team like Duke,
a punching them out while still being able to win the game.
They were punched in the face.
And we sitting up here saying, five guys took y'all to the wire.
five guys. That's it. Five guys from Sienna.
From Sienna. If I gave you a map of New York that didn't have the cities on it,
you wouldn't be able to point out where Sienna is,
let alone a map of America and say, hey, just point out somewhere on a hereabouts.
So the reality of this thing is they have seemed like a team that's woken up.
They've seemed like a team that is now like, oh, this is real.
Any game, it can be over because they trail Sienna.
for most of that game.
Ever since then, they've been on a warpath.
They've been doing what they need to do.
And here's the thing.
The Johnny's are a tough team.
Anybody knows Petino, his offensive system
is roll the ball out and get a bucket.
Somebody go get a bucket.
But defensively at rebounding,
they're going to give you everything that they've got.
Those guys are going to be shuffling them,
the puppies.
They're going to be moving their feet.
They're going to be doing everything they can
to keep booze and company off the boards.
This game, you're going to have to be.
be ready to fight and put them out. You're going to have to be ready to extinguish the flame
that is the Johnny's hope in this one. And it won't go away easy. It won't go away early. Yes, you've got
a potential player at a year and all those things. Yeah, you've got all these amazing things to do.
This is a game where you've got to be ready from tip to buzzer, fight, fight, fight,
for every rebound, for post-positioning, for all the things. You have the size advantage. You have that.
you have the depth advantage in terms of quality depth I would say you probably got a little bit more
that but St. John's has some depth himself but the reality is you have to be ready to fight and battle
for every single.
And they might have Caleb Foster back.
I saw he's a game time decision for tonight.
Oh, that'd be huge.
Being out 20.
Can you imagine if he's ready to maybe wouldn't start, but he may come back?
Yeah, that'd be huge.
So ultimately, that's what I'm saying.
You'll have you'll have some definitive advantages.
The question is, are you prepared to do what it takes to take advantage of it?
If you take the Johnny's for granted like you did, Sienna, you're not going to be able to come back.
You're not going to be able to, oh, man, man.
Because guess what?
St. John's got more than five guys that can play some ball.
They got guys.
I'm not saying they got a bunch of lottery picks, not saying they got a bunch of guys going in the top part of the draft,
but they got some guys.
They'll be playing basketball professionally for the next five or ten years of their lives.
May not be in America, but they'll be playing some.
Them guys at Siena, they already, they're already.
