Now, if you were betting on ACC underdogs to cover, you won some money over the weekend.
They like a team.
We'll talk about the new Associated Press rank.
which again go to outline. If you're in the SEC,
doesn't matter who you lose to and when. Those are quality losses.
We got four two loss SEC teams ranked in front of anybody in the ACC right now.
We'll talk about all the games that happened over the weekend in ACC football.
My God, Louisville, they wrote the manual on how to self-destruct in the final seconds of a football game.
That was rough. I also, I want to talk about Clemson's win over Pitt.
Now, Kenton Gibbs, he's Kenton Gibbs from Locked on Wolfpack.
I'm Alex Dono from Locked on Cains.
I can, I think in the same breath, give credit to Clemson and credit to Cade Clubnick,
because he had a 50-yard game-winning touchdown run that was clutch, got an awesome
block from T.J. Moore on that run.
Like he just, he ripped the hearts out of Pitt at the end of that game.
But then I can also be critical of Pitt.
Now, Pitt, you know, they had to start Nate Yarnel at quarterback in that game because, you know,
Eli Holstein has suffered, had suffered two head injuries in the previous three weeks.
So they were already down.
Their starting quarterback.
And Kenton, I'm watching that game.
Pitt was, they were on their way to pulling off one of those comebacks they pulled off,
like against Cincinnati and West Virginia.
But late in the game, every time Pitt gets into the red zone, I don't think I've seen
that many consecutive false start penalties at once.
Even coming out of timeouts, they're committing false starts and opportunities at
touchdowns turn into fuel goals.
That was some self-destruction there as well from the Panthers.
Donno, I'm disappointed in Pitt this game.
You want to know why I'm disappointed in Pitt?
Because I'm okay with a team beating you when they're just better.
When a team shows up and it's just better.
If you listen to my post-game comments about NC State, Tennessee,
I said Tennessee is just a better team.
Did NC State do everything operation and perfect?
No, but Tennessee was clear.
clearly a better team.
In this one,
Pitt was the better team.
Since not of curiosity, Dono,
who do you think won the total yard was about in this game?
Pitt.
How much do you think they won the yarder's total by?
That I don't know.
A hundred yards, Dono.
A hundred yards.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Ninety-two here.
346 Clemson 438 pit.
Who do you think had more passing yards?
Pit by about 60.
Who do you think had more rushing yards?
Pit by 30.
So it baffles the mind here.
It really does to see a team only lose the turnover battle by one.
But again, like you said, Dono,
every time they got into the red zone,
they had to break out their rubber sheets,
and they had to go downstairs and tell mom and dad,
hey, I soiled the bed, everyone.
Because every time they got close to said,
all right, we're going to take the lead,
or we're going to put this game with it.
They just could not do it.
They could not do it.
Credit to Clemson.
Hats off to them for actually executing.
But I'll be dead if I believe in Pitt again after this one,
because this was just terror.
13 penalties, 100 yards for Pitt.
So they spotted them.
entire football field.
And all right, so Kenton, when it comes to the ACC part of their schedule, Clemson's
work is done.
They finish their ACC schedule seven and one.
Their remaining games against the Citadel and against South Carolina, which is going
to be a tough game and a big rivalry game.
But right now, they need someone else to mess up because they're going to lose tiebreakers with
other teams.
If Miami and SMU both finish with one loss in conference, they lose.
tiebreakers because both of those teams beat Louisville and they didn't. So what Clemson needs is for
Miami to lose once. Miami's got Wake Forest next week. They're at Syracuse the following week,
or they need SMU to lose twice, which quite frankly is not happening. SMU is not losing out after
starting their season nine, nine and one. So Clemson are going to be very big fans of Wake Forest
and of Syracuse for the next couple weeks. And listen, I'll give Clemson credit, Kenton, because
they went four and four in the ACC last year.
They bounced back for a seven and one conference record.
That's not nothing.
We've both been very harsh on Davosweeney at times, but seven and one in the ACC,
you can't do much better than that.
And you know what?
Another thing that Clemson has to be applauded for, but also like a you could
have done something about this, that team is extremely young.
So I'm not sure if I want to say, hey, you got a young team.
you didn't figure it out.
You know, I give you credit for making something happen with the young guys that are there.
Or say, you could have done something about this.
This is a play that many teams have figured out already.
So, you know, like you said, credit to cleansing, fantastic year in conference.
Fantastic.
Most years without super conferences where all of a sudden you have teams from every coast in every conference,
if we had regionality like we once did,
we would absolutely be looking at a situation
where Clemson is most likely
in the ACC championship game and one cop's loss.
It just so happens to be this year ain't a year
that that's good for getting that done.
All right. And, you know, the reason why
SMU is not going to be the team
that drops out of the ACC championship game, Kenton.
They're 6 and O in conference,
and they got a good win.
Now, maybe their defense could have been a little bit more consistent,
but that was a good win, 3828 at home against a Boston college team that came to play.
Me, Grace and James, who got the start replacing Thomas Costalanos,
who's no longer going to be at Boston College.
James played pretty well at the start for BC.
He did throw an interception, which was unfortunate because BC had just created an interception,
had an opportunity to take advantage of that and score,
and James then threw an interception into the end zone before halftime.
So that was unfortunate, but he goes 18 for 32.
237 yards and a touchdown to go along with the I&T.
And for SMU, the usual suspects stepped up and played well, Kent.
And Kevin Jennings, who did throw an INT of his own, but had three touchdowns,
24 for 35, 298 yards.
Richard Smith, 18 carries 120 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
I, yeah, Breschard Smith used to be in Miami Hurricane.
I covered him when he was down in Coral Gables.
I was a big fan of his, a little.
bit frustrated that for whatever reason they couldn't find a role for Breschard Smith.
He was the backup slot receiver when apparently he could have been a really good running back
because that's what he is now at SMU. But SMU, Kent, and as long as they win one of their next two
games, and let me pull up who they have remaining, as long as they win one of their final
two games at Virginia and home against Cal, you know, both of which could be tricky, but they only
need to win one out of their next two to secure a spot in the ACC
championship. And they're one of the best stories in college football right now.
Alex Equimini is Donald. Are you telling me that Virginia and Cal are teams you're worried
about for SMU? I mean, they both have pulled off some upsets. Both have had moments where
all of a sudden, you know, they're teams that weren't supposed to be much that turned into
some. Absolutely. But they're not beaten.
not both of them i agree not both i agree i think when they when they're playing desperation back
against the wall if they were to lose the one and it ain't happened with that in mind though uh you know
smu has has shown the propensity just to get it right just to get it right time and time and time again
and i don't care what anybody's body says about oh look b yu now has a loss to kansas don't care
that's still a fantastic b yu team that you know at the end of the day smu has um you
has figured it out time and time and time again.
They've had games where their defense wasn't rolling at their highest clip.
And guess what?
Their offense goes out and puts up 40.
They've had games where the offense wasn't playing at their highest grip.
And guess what?
They go out and show up against Malik Murphy and Company in Durham.
So I give this team credit because they're consistent.
They just show up.
They find ways to show up every single time.
I highly doubt that these last two games, they're going to say,
all right, we've done all we could for as long as we could.
we're done here.
Yeah, no, they're going to be in.
Now, we can tell you when we come back,
who's definitely not going to be in the ACC championship game,
and that's Louisville.
What happened?
Oh, my goodness.
If you guys missed it,
one of the Murphy's Law finish,
in terms of final 10 seconds of a football game,
what can go wrong?
Every single thing went wrong.
You want to keep it locked right here.
We're only getting started on this brand new episode
of Locked on AC.
I'm only getting started with five-hour energy.
I need my boost after watching all these awesome games.
And, hey, our friends over at Five-Hour Energy know that being a passionate football fan isn't
just a hobby.
It's a way of life.
It takes a lot of energy to power through all-day tailgates, touchdown celebrations,
or agonizing second overtimes, which is why they've created the Stan the Fan
Five-Hour Energy Shot with a special flavor called Fan Fuel.
The energy shot made just for super fans like us, the fans who are
first in the parking lot and who are last to leave, we see you.
Folks, you know what gave us a bit of fan fuel this past week?
That moment when Stanford lines up for a 57-yard game-winning field goal, which became a 52-yard
field goal.
We'll talk about it, and they pull off a big upset against the Louisville Cardinals.
Five-hour energy nodes that no matter what team you root for, being a fan requires heart, soul,
and a whole lot of energy.
whether you're prepping for a big tailgate or ironing your jersey,
your game day to do list is always a mile long.
That's why the limited edition,
Stan the Fan 5-hour energy shot is here to help you keep fueled throughout the season.
What's your fan fuel this week?
Whatever it is, do it with a 5-hour energy,
available on 5-hourenergy.com and shipped nationwide.

Your team every day.
So I was really impressed, Kenton, with Stanford hanging in there with Louisville.
And I thought, okay, this game's going to go to overtime, tied at 35, fourth down and
10, just into Stanford territory.
You know, they decide does Louisville to take a shot at like, let's go for the end zone.
Let's go for a game winner.
So they go for a game winning, you know, kind of a Hail Mary, but it sails beyond the receiver.
And they leave five seconds on the clock, okay? Turnover on downs, five seconds on the clock.
And they're thinking, okay, at the very worst, Stanford is going to have to try a Hail Mary of their own, right?
So Stanford, you know, they pick up a first down, runner out of bounds, late, late hit penalty out of bounds,
which is one of the stupidest things you can do, gives you 15 yards,
just enough time to kick a field goal.
Now, the field goal that the Stanford kicker, Emmett Kenny,
and by the way, he might have to be, when we do our Roy player of the week on Tuesday,
it might have to be Emmett Kenny this week.
So Emmett Kenny is lining up for a would-be 57-yard game-winning field goal,
which seems long, maybe makeable, but probably not.
Louisville jumps off sides.
Let's move him up an extra five yards and give him the eye.
opportunity at the 52-yard game-winning field goal, which he drills for the win for Stanford.
Again, Kenton, everything possible could have gone wrong.
Poor offensive execution in that final possession, leaving too much time on the clock,
two penalties, one of which was a boneheaded personal foul to gift Stanford field goal range.
And Louisville ends up paying for it.
I mean, my goodness, that's not going to be one that Coach Brom is going to want to remain on
this highlight real for too long. You know, I'm disappointed in Louisville for so many reasons.
The biggest reason I'm disappointed in Louisville. All of this was managed poorly from both an
execution standpoint and a planning standpoint. Don't get me wrong. As a head coach,
there is no way to account for your players giving up 20 yards. There's no way to account for
that. I'm never going to say, hey, all you had to do as a coach is know that your guys are going
to flood this thing up and you'll be okay. But with that in mind, I do look at Louisville and I say,
why the hell are you going forward on a fourth and long? Why? Why? Why? What do you? I get it.
I know that you're saying, hey, you know, at the end of the day, if we turn it over on downs,
that'll be fine and all that good stuff.
Again, it was just a lot of foolishness.
It really and truly was.
You know, and then I look at Stanford to say,
to the victor goes to spoils.
Sometimes, you know, a lot of people like to call it luck,
but I say it this way.
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
When an idiot gives you an opportunity
and you're prepared to capitalize,
that's what you get.
You get what Stanford did to Louisville.
They kept together.
close. They stayed within striking
this, which is not something you Stanford has done all
season, with shame on you, Louisville,
for a long as to do so. And then all
it took, because you let them stay
in striking disses, was two bone-headed
place. Just two.
It's college football.
Why are you jumping off sides on a 57-yarder?
To be honest, and I'm not
kidding when I say this, if I
am an edge rusher
against a 57-yarder, I feel
no need to get off.
super fast and get a great rush. You know why? It's 57 yards in college. If a college kicker
nails 57, God was on their side. It was our day to lose. Hey, we're all right. But when you give
them that advantage, all of a sudden, oh, things look a little different. Why are you hitting
somebody late out of bounds in that situation? Again, the play is over. It was just foolishness.
It was just disappointment. And Louisville pissed down their leg in a way that I have.
not seen since the last time I went to go pick up my nephew from daycare.
I think that Louisville fan who commented on our YouTube last week, I think he's to blame for this.
He cursed him. He's to blame.
Yeah.
And at the end of the day, this is, I do want everybody to pay attention to the rhetoric around
Stanford beating Louisville because it's about, oh, look at how terrible ACC is and not.
Well, Stanford's a better team we've given their credit for it, despite the fact they'd be
multiple teams this year that you're like, oh, what happened there?
You know what I mean?
Because this Stanford team, when they're up, they're up.
They can play with anybody.
But when they're down, oh, it's a whole other level of down.
It's a level of down that I have not seen it quite sometime.
Yeah, I mean, when the worst SEC team beats the best SEC team,
it's like, by God, Perry, it's the greatest conference in history when we, you know,
when a bad, and they're not even the worst ACC team, but when a not so good ACC team beats a better
ACC team. Terrible.
Awful conference.
Wisconsin pushes Oregon to the limit.
Oh, well, you know, in Wisconsin,
it's such a good program.
They're such a dominant.
They're five and five.
They're now five and six, I believe.
They need to win their last one to get to a phone.
But, you know, that's how it goes down.
Well, it reminds me of,
and we were talking about this off air,
this good ex post by David Hale.
And again, we're going to talk about the AP rankings.
where you've got four two loss SEC teams ranked higher than any ACC team this year.
But yeah, we're so busy projecting who would beat who.
Maybe the actual resume should matter.
He says, hey, the current number six team in the country lost to NIU.
Number seven, lost to Vandy.
Number nine lost to Kentucky.
Number 11 lost to Georgia Tech.
That's Miami.
Number 14, lost to Kansas.
16 lost to Nebraska.
Number 20 lost to Oklahoma.
number 21 lost to Cincinnati, 22 lost to Kansas,
23 lost to Syracuse, 24 lost to Minnesota,
number 25 lost to New Mexico.
He writes, what we think will happen on the field
shouldn't ever matter more than what happens on the field.
We don't really know.
So, I mean, yeah, that's a big victory for Kenton,
because you've been saying this all year.
But it keeps coming out.
It keeps coming up.
Donald, that lowly Utah team with Alex Smith
and company. Oh, they weren't anything that could compete with
Andre Smith and Nick Savant and that
bohemist, that brewing bohemouth Alabama, until
they did. Ian Johnson and this upstart
Boise State, they don't make nothing in Idaho
besides potatoes. They can't compete with
the mighty Oklahoma Sooners until they did.
Oh, TCU's got no shot against Michigan.
They got no chance.
They got the Runyon Award winner.
They got the best offensive line award.
They got a quarterback that's going to be a first rounder.
They got more first rounder.
You throw a rock in that defensive huddle.
You're more likely to hit a guy that's probably going to be drafting the top three rounds
and the guy who would never play in NFL.
There's no way that this lowly TCU team.
What's that?
Oh, all of those teams seem to have won.
Well, I'll be there.
I'll be there.
again, I keep telling people time and time again, the results have to matter.
To me personally, they call me a madman, call me insane, you cannot lose one-fourth of your games
and still be one of the best teams in America.
You cannot.
Can you have one of the most talented teams in America and do that?
Absolutely.
But talent means, you almost may lose my clean rate.
Talent means but nothing compared.
compared to who you are as a team.
NC State on paper was so hype coming into this season
because the talent on paper was phenomenal.
The execution with that talent was not, therefore, you get what you get.
And now that team has to win at least one of their last two
to get to a bowl game.
That is what the difference is between,
well, if they're talented, go ahead and crown them,
and, well, let's make the games matter.
Yep.
Let me see if I can play some of this clip here.
You saw the Rhett Lashley clip, right, where he was defending the ACC.
Let me see if I can play some of this.
It's kind of a long clip, but let me at least play part of this here.
And while you pull that up, I want to make one thing abundantly clear.
I rock with Jim Phillips.
And trust me, we are trying our damned just to get them on the show.
I promise you, Donald and I try.
But one thing that I think is very interesting about this,
Rhett Lashley shouldn't even have to say this.
It should be the commission.
Because guess what?
You think Sanky would go down without fighting,
without him screaming from every rooftop,
the SEC's the best conference in football.
You think whoever the guy is at the Big Ten,
because you know the Big Ten changed commissioners,
like we change radio stations.
But you think whoever that guy is would sit there and say,
well, you know, I'll leave it up to,
Sharan Moore. I'll leave it up to Ryan Day. I'll leave it up to Dan Lannick. I'll leave it up to Lincoln
Riley to defend the conference. Jimmy P., we love you, but you've got to say this. Don't leave it on
your coaches. So this was November 14th. So this was before last weekend's games. SMU coach
Rhett Lashley on the way the ACC is treated in the CFP rankings.
I think we won one of the two teams in the top 16 that have four wins against bowl of school teams.
I think we've got six powerful wins.
I don't know if anybody else has more than that.
So look, I mean, I think we have a good resume.
I think we've proven that we belong in the conversation.
I'm not going to worry as much about us and that right now because we got to take care of business.
If we don't win, nothing matters.
We got three games right now.
If we don't win the next three games, then we don't really have an argument.
But if we do, then I think we've earned the right to have an argument.
I will say this.
I do think on behalf of the ACC, I think it is interesting.
Yeah, there's normal brand biases for teams.
I'm not really going to get into that, but there's conference biases.
And I think it's interesting that, you know, you look at the ACC, we have a winning
record against the Big 10 this year.
We have a winning record against the Big 12 this year.
We don't have a winning record against the ACC, SEC, excuse me, but we have four games
left.
And if we win enough of those, we would have a winning record.
So that's still up in the air.
It's been competitive.
And, you know, so.
to look at our league and say, well, we may be a one big league,
but you look at another league that we have a winning record against and say,
well, they're going to get four in.
Like, it doesn't make sense to me.
It needs to.
I'll stop it right there because I think you get the gist of it.
And by the way, kudos to NBC5 and the person who shared that video,
Pat Dony of NBC5.
Kudos to him for sharing that.
Because again, like, apparently it doesn't matter, you know,
what your conference's record is against others.
There's going to be brand biases.
and there's going to be conference biases, like Coach Lashley said.
Yeah, and it's very disappointing to see.
The playoff committee, and this is why I've been saying for the longest,
bring it, leave the playoff, but bring the computers back.
Let the computers decide.
Let the computer.
Because when you let humans decide it, all of a sudden we get this circular logic of,
you know, I was talking to Chris Gore.
They loved the brother.
Love the brother.
I've been on his show before.
You know, I rock with the guys from Locked on SEC.
some of the guys from that way.
But he and I deeply disagree on this because he said,
it shouldn't be about your losses.
It should be about your best wins.
No!
It should be about the totality of who you are.
Yeah, right.
Because if we are taking your best win and making that more important than your
worse or than your losses, USC is a better team than Miami.
You see how ridiculous that sounds on its face?
Yeah, absolutely.
USC beat LSU. Miami does not have a win as good as LSU. Does that mean that Miami is all
of a sudden a bad team and USC is the best? No, it's the totality of what you do. I cannot count your
peaks only because guess what? Then that says it works in its own logic to say, well, who decides
what a high peak is? Who decides how good these other teams are? As opposed to go out there on the field
and settle. Go out there on the field and show me what you got.
Y'all know who I am. Y'all know I'm opposed to preseason rankings and any ranking
before week four, really. Any ranking before week four, you just throwing darts out of board saying,
oh, I think, oh, it feels like based on what they're bringing back. But the reality is what we have
seen time and time again is all these teams that have no shot. Well, would you look at that?
They had a shot all along. So that's what I'm seeing.
we're going to take a look at the new AP rankings.
So the AP and coaches poll are out.
New college football playoff ranking is going to drop tomorrow Tuesday night, like always.
So, you know, there was a little bit of divergence last week.
So it's hard to predict what the CFP committee is going to do.
We'll tell you what the AP voters have done.
You want to keep it locked right here.

Another thing with the games this past Saturday, Kenton, that I still don't understand why Cal was favored by double digits against Syracuse.
That one didn't make any sense to me whatsoever. As our guy, Lee Sterling would say, wrong team favored.
So, you know, I pounded.
I don't know if it was like minus or plus 11 or plus 12,
but I was on Fandul.
And I, you know, I bet the proverbial farm on Syracuse.
And not only did they win, but they covered.
Like I guess, you know, the betters really thought,
hey, Cal finally won their first ACC game last time around against Wake Forest.
Now they're unbeatable all of a sudden.
Not so much.
I know what happened, Donald.
I know what happened.
Here's what happened.
All right.
So one of the trainers smelled Fran Brown.
walk by after the no shower.
And the trainer calls up his friend who's a Sharp and says,
hey, I don't know what happened with Fran, but this team stinks now.
And he's the leader of the funk.
He's the leader of the stink.
Okay.
And the Sharp says, really?
He said, yeah, it's got me all discombobligated and confused how funky this team is now.
And they can't get themselves out of this funk.
And the Sharp thought that he was talking about like a rhythm offensively.
And not just that Fran Brown did not wash up.
Yeah.
And next thing you know, it's like Wall Street.
One person says,
And next thing you know, everybody's screaming together.
Bye, God, like that's the next amount of shit.
That's what happened, Donna.
I'm telling you, I have, I received this under good authority that this is what happened.
I'm lying.
There's no good authority to tell me.
This is just pure speculation.
But it had to be something like that because nobody in their right mind would say,
Cal wasn't just favorite.
They were favored by how much, Donald?
It was like 11, 11 and a half, something like that.
I remember locking in Syracuse at double-digit underdogs.
11 and a half.
Quick question, Donald.
How many games has Cal won this year?
I think they've won, I want to say five.
Yeah, they're five and five.
Overall, they're one and five in the ACC.
And how many of those have come against power four teams, Donald?
very, very few.
They got Wake Forest.
They got a win against Washington State.
Exactly.
They be Auburn, Wake Forest, Wazoo.
That's it.
Right?
Now, quick question, Dono, did any of those games, did a singular one of those games
outside of Oregon State who is conference lists at the moment, which, let's be honest,
the Pact 12 and what they're doing over there, it's a little embarrassing.
Did any of those come by double digits?
you beat Wake Forest by two points.
You beat Auburn by a touchdown.
Yes, you absolutely wax Oregon State.
I'll give you that.
But what about that said this team should be double-digit favorite?
If anything, the evidence shows you that Oregon State,
even before this game, that Oregon State was the exception and not the rule.
Because if you look at the rest of their games against power four teams this year,
outside of the ones I just mentioned.
You lose to a Florida State team.
Quick question, Donald.
How many wins does Florida State have?
One more than me.
Oh, okay.
So that was their only win of the season.
You lose to Miami.
You lose to Pitt.
You lose to NC State.
You lose to, or I'm sorry, you barely beat Wake Forest.
Where in that?
Where are the double-digit wins to say,
this team should be a double-digit favorite?
There's one.
That game was the exception.
That's the best football they'll play all season.
Yeah.
All right, well, let's take a look at how ACC teams are being treated in the new Associated Press rankings here.
Let me see if I can share my old screen with you for those who are watching us on YouTube.
For those who are listening, we'll go through all these.
Oregon, Oregon was tested against Wisconsin, but they came out victorious 11 at O.
They stay number one.
Then you've got Ohio State and Texas, Penn State.
who are all one lost teams, Indiana, 10 and O at number five, Notre Dame at number six.
And then you've got a slew of two lost SEC teams.
Bama, 8 and 2 at number 7.
Georgia at 8 and 2, they're number 8.
Ole Miss, 8 and 2, number 9.
Tennessee, 8 and 2, number 10.
Then you finally get an ACC team, 9-1, Miami, followed by Boise State,
and then 9-1 SMU, BYU, who just lost for the first time.
Texas A&M, Colorado. Clemson is at 17. Army 18, South Carolina, Tulane, Arizona State, Iowa State,
UNLV, Illinois, and Washington State. So you've got a trio of ACC teams in the top 25.
But despite, you know, Miami and SMU having lost just once, still way behind the two loss group of SEC teams.
Oh, not only that, Donnell. I'm sorry. You said,
SMU is behind who now?
They're behind Boise State who just lost.
Huh.
Or Boise State who's lost once this year.
They lost to Oregon.
Yeah, I was going to say.
They lost to Oregon earlier this season.
But for everybody who talks about best win, best win, best win, best win, best win,
best win, best win.
Oh, I need to know who's your best win.
Who's your best win, Dono?
That's what I keep hearing, right?
Well, quick question.
Who's Boise State best win?
who has Boise State
beat in this season
that you would look at
and say,
is Georgia Southern anything
to write home about?
Not when it comes to
Power 4 type of opposition.
They're not in that,
and no.
Okay.
Portland State.
Are they something right?
Washington State?
Yeah.
Okay.
That's not a bad win.
I got you.
Utah State.
No
Hawaii
No
UNLV
Okay
San Diego State
No
Nevada
No
San Jose State
No
So what again
I want to know
I feel like
And maybe it's the Detroiter in me
But I feel like Isaiah Thomas
These ACC teams
met the criteria
To be selected
they met the criteria to enter the top 12.
They met the criteria.
And yet we get denied based on what?
Based on what?
Conference bias, brand bias.
Oh, Louisville's a terrible team now.
You know, they lost.
And they're, you know, they've lost multiple games now.
And they piss down against Stanford, so they're a bad team now.
Oh, Pitt has lost multiple games in a row.
So they're not the team we thought they were.
Well, good thing SMU dominated them, huh?
Yeah.
What more can you ask for of the Pony Express?
What more can Brett Lashley and company do?
Outside of winning games by damn, there are 20 points per game than a power for.
Yeah.
Even if you think of them as a second rate power for it, I was one of the people, and you can go back to this.
You can look on my Twitter and see this.
You can look up UCF on my Twitter years ago.
I said that UCF should have got a shot all those years ago when they were undefeated.
which are beating teams by 20 points per game.
Yep.
If that's not enough, what is?
If that's not enough, tell certain teams,
hey, we're sorry to tell you,
we are eliminating you from playoff potential.
Yeah.
We're telling you right now,
there's a steel curtain that you cannot get under,
you cannot get over,
you are stuck up against it,
and you will not pass it.
But this is just pathetic to disrespect.
And let me not even start on the Miami disrespect.
Cam Ward no longer
old Heisman graphics
But that one drives me crazy
That one drives me crazy
Because okay
No, no, 22
Plused out by Jackson Dart
22
Yeah
That's massive
Cam Ward didn't have more than that, right?
He doesn't
Can Ward's got 32 touchdown passes this year
35 total touchdowns
He's got more passing yards
than anyone else in the country
Yeah
His team lost one game
Jackson Dart's team has lost two games
Cam Ward lost one game
And people drop him out of the Heisman graphics
even in that loss he threw for 3.48 and three touchdowns.
And he's out of the highspin graphic now.
But that's what I'm saying, Donald.
It doesn't make sense.
Everybody else gets excuses, gets the this, gets to that, gets all this love.
And yet, the ACC gets disrespected by everybody.
And this is why I'm saying Jim Phillips needs to be everywhere beating the table.
The minute that graphic came out, if I was a commissioner, I would have instantly put out a statement.
So just so we're clear to the Heisman voting committee,
this many yards is not appropriate, but this is.
34 touchdowns in the Power 4 conference isn't enough, but 22 is?
I need to know the criteria by which you all are judging
so that we can more properly put ACC teams in the situation
where they can reach your goals.
Or is there no way to reach them?
Because last time I checked,
doesn't Miami have a win over an SEC team
that now everybody's screaming is dangerous and scary and the coaches save this job.
And here's the other thing that I keep hearing is, well, this Florida team is in two months later what would handle Miami.
It was just, they're a different team now.
That's the argument.
Florida is a different team now than they were two months ago.
But what about Clemson's in the Georgia?
What about Clemson of Georgia?
What about Clemson of Georgia?
So I'm confused.
I'm confused.
And this is what I mean, Donald.
This is why I feel like I'm losing my mind here.
I feel like I'm in bizarre work because I'm about to lose my voice over this.
And Jim Phillips saying,
I don't understand how you can hear people say,
Florida would beat Miami their different team and you're not rebut with
and you're sure Georgia would take care of Clemson again?
You're sure about that?
Are you 100% sure?
Just out of curiosity.
Defensively, Georgia's still a powerhouse.
Kirby Smart still has that deep head's rope.
offensively oh them boys are horrendous horrendous offensively so again i very simply ask what are
the criteria are the criteria that you need to be in the right conference because if that's the case
again i don't know why we're having all these arguments about auto bids or not tell the cc and big ten
hey you all have a separate thing you all are gods amongst men you all are better than us you're
different than us you're blessed with the divine right you don't
put your pants on one leg at a time.
I heard that each and every one of your players do
backhand tuck springs into their pants.
Therefore, us regular ACC
guys, us,
Big 12 guys, us group of five guys.
You know, we can't do anything
but admire you all.
Because we don't have a Jeremiah Smith.
Oh, what's that?
What's that McMillan kid from Arizona doing pretty good?
Oh, no, no, no.
But Dono, we don't have a Jackson.
What's that?
You mean the co-host of this show has a quarterback better than Jackson Dark?
Well, well, we clearly don't have a running back.
Oh, like what they got at Ohio State up there with Junk.
You said, Omarion Hampton is doing what?
Oh, okay.
So, oh, it's freshman sensations.
We don't have any freshman sensations.
They're as good as Ryan with.
CJ Bailey did what now?
Oh, oh, okay.
So again, I think it's extremely interesting,
the way that the ACC gets treated.
And I want to know the criteria.
I really do.
I'm not doing when I say this.
I want to see the criteria beyond.
This team is better because they have more stars by their name and recruited.
And what does that mean?
Wake Forest would never win a game in ACC if that's the case.
And yet, here they find themselves winning games.
Vanderbilt couldn't beat Bama because Bama's got five stars all up and down that roster.
Betty has none.
So that can't be a thing, right?
Well, it is.
You know, so I'm done with it.
I'm going to stop right here because I can go all day long
in this tirade.
But I just want some consistency and for the criteria to be clearly explained.
I want these committees, I want these voters to explain to me
why guys are being ranked ahead of ACC.
Maybe we'll get that criteria by tomorrow
because we will talk to you tomorrow on another episode of Lockdown ACC.
He's Kenton Gibbs from Lockdown Wolfpack.
I am Alex Dono from Lockdown-Kaines.
We'll talk to you guys next time right here on another episode of Lockdown ACC.
