Starting point is 00:00:00 The Bengals are adding a weapon. It was a long shop, and Noah Phant will add versatility and depth to an already deep skill room for the Bengals. You are Locked on Bengals, your daily Cincinnati Bengals podcast. Part of the Locked On Podcast Network, your team every day. What up Bengals fans and welcome to another episode of the Lockdown Bengals podcast. Part of the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team every day. I'm Jake Liskow. He's James Rapine.
Starting point is 00:00:33 We're your host of the Lockdown Bengals Podcast. covering your Cincinnati Bengals since 2016. We're on YouTube. We're everywhere you get your podcast. If you're already an everydayer, we appreciate you. Shout out to those of you who have made that known while I've been here in Cincinnati. And if you're looking to become it every day or just hit that subscribe button, it makes it really easy not to miss an episode of the Lockdown Bengals podcast.
Starting point is 00:00:56 And shout out to all of you who make Lockdown Bengals your first listen as well. A lot to get to today as we've got another training camp practice to discuss that was headlined by DJ Turner for all the right reasons, for all the highlights you've seen where DJ Turner was on the wrong end of an offensive highlight. Totally opposite story here on Thursday in the indoor facility. But before we get there, the Bengals add a player in late July, a player that as soon as he became available, I said, James, I would do it. I'll be shocked if the Bengals kicked the tires.
Starting point is 00:01:30 They immediately kicked the tires and made me look silly. And not only that, they got it done, Noah Fant, joining the Cincinnati Bengals. I like it. I love it. Whatever you want to say, you're never going to convince, have to convince me that more weapons is better. Obviously, I feel that way. Our everydayers know it. But bringing in a guy like Noah Fant, one, beating out the Dolphins for him.
Starting point is 00:01:54 I never really thought he should consider the Saints. I thought that was an awful. You take the visit in case you get a huge payday, I guess. But awful fit. Why would you go there? there. But Miami, I thought Miami was going to get him. And I know they made him an offer. Knowing the Bengals history, would it shock you if Miami offered Noah Phant more? If it took a little less to come to Cincinnati, wouldn't shock me. And so I think that's a big
Starting point is 00:02:19 element here is the fit, how well the visit went, how they have a clear cut view of what he can be. And I do think they feel that he can do a lot of the air call stuff and bring that dynamic. to this offense. And if you remember last year, Jake, we were really starting to ramp up. We had talked about Eric All during camp and even week one and week two. But by week five, six, it was like, oh, man, Eric, oh, this offense, there's new levels to this thing because of him. If Fant can give you some of that and also be a dynamic pass catcher, which he has been, give you something after the catch, like, there's a lot to like about this. And so I love it. I think the Bengals are really happy about it. Joe Burroughs certainly excited about it.
Starting point is 00:03:05 I think Zach Taylor was probably someone that signed off on this really early on after Noah Fant was released by the Seahawks. So this is a pretty big get. I do think he's going to matter for this team this season. Yeah, I think he does this thing, and we've talked about it. We've talked about why it would make sense. So if you've heard those episodes, if you're in every day, apologies, if you've heard us say this before, but he does a role that without Eric Hall, the Bengals don't have. They have Drew Sample who can block. They have Cam Grandy, who's probably the closest thing.
Starting point is 00:03:36 But Cam Grandy, closer to probably Drew Sample than a dynamic high-end athlete like Noah Fant. Not to say that he's a bad athlete or anything, but Noah Fant was an elite athlete coming out of Iowa, right? It has incredible speed, really good run-after catchability that showed up in the NFL as well, and gives you more of an explosive element in a different way than Mike Keseki does because, well, Mike Kaseki is more of a receiver than a tight end. Zach Taylor was asked about the tight ends when he did his press before practice, and there was a lot of comparison. If you read between lines anyway, not that hard to read between these lines,
Starting point is 00:04:13 between Noah Phant and Erichol in terms of the vision for how Phant fits this offense. So as we've discussed before, he's somewhere between Mike Keseki and Erichol as a player in terms of what he can do. He can line up in line. He's probably off the ball more than he's on the ball. he's probably moving more than he's stationary in terms of those kinds of blocks. You're not just going to have him go try to kick a defensive end out like you might ask Drew Sample to do from time to time.
Starting point is 00:04:42 He's going to be responsible more so for getting to the second level, for getting the secondary players. And he's not going to be a world beater blocker or anything. But again, if you go look at PFF grades, pretty similar over the last few years to what Eric Al was in a limited sample in his rookie year for the Bengals. And Eric Al was a rookie. so you wouldn't expect him to necessarily be the best blocker right away. But Noah Fant has shown that he at least can do the job, not necessarily at a high level,
Starting point is 00:05:08 but when you can do that at the level he can block at in line or in motion with experience lining up at fullback, and he also does what he can do as a receiver with all that athleticism. That's a player that Bengals don't have right now. And adding him gives you more packages with your tight ends, lets you be more multiple, more versatile on offense and gives you new ways to challenge defenses. And it matters that he's a threat. In this offense, honestly, in this offense, having another guy that can be a threat in the passing game is awesome. And it allows you to, like you said, utilize some of the packages that just went out the door the moment Eric did.
Starting point is 00:05:50 The moment Eric gets hurt, it's like, all right, well, we got to scrap this, this, this, this, and this. We just can't run it. You can't run it with Drew. And I think they did. They ran one of those plays. Yeah, they tried a little bit and they like put different guys in the role and nobody, nobody was air called doing it. No.
Starting point is 00:06:03 And Noah Fant is someone that is as established as Gaseki from a past catching standpoint, does it differently. But as established, been as productive as you could have really imagined considering the, the situations that he's been in. He isn't necessarily an all pro player, but he's a dynamic receiving threat. And the other reason why I like this, Jake, is let's say T. Higgins gets. nicked up or Jamar Chase gets nicked up or Mike Gisicki, or Andre Yosevash, any of these guys get nicked up.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Well, Noah Fant is someone that can help you get by, get through, not abandon this whole side of your offense because they're going to be passed first. And so adding another layer to it, adding another level to what they do that makes them harder to stop, harder to guard, and something that they can go to from a package standpoint, that's a no-brainer for me. like I said, I do think the dolphins were in on his services. And so if fan is taking less, guess what?
Starting point is 00:07:03 He loves the idea of his role. And I don't want to speak for him there. I have a chance that that's the case, though, that he loves what he's going to be in this offense. And if that's the case, that means he's going to matter. And that means that he's going to probably help the Bengals win games this year. And this is an addition to a skill player group or receiving group, including Mike Keseki, including the receivers in the tight ends.
Starting point is 00:07:23 is that Joe Burrow just called the deepest he's had since he's been in Cincinnati. And just yesterday we spent a good portion of the podcast talking about how all the way up and down the roster, we've seen guys making plays. You add Noah fan to the mix. Certainly as a pedigree and has a production, I was pulling up his stats. That's why I was looking down on my phone here. 562 yards in 2019, 673 yards in 2020, 670 in 2021, goes to Seattle, new team, different role. the yardage production does dip,
Starting point is 00:07:55 but over 11 yards per catch in his NFL career. So it's not like he's not been, you know, the George Kittle level production on offense. And I don't think that that's the expectation you should have for him, especially with so many mouths to feed in the passing game for Cincinnati. But he has been productive for various teams in different roles, teams that have asked him to do different things. And he's not coming in here to be option one.
Starting point is 00:08:20 He's coming in here to be maybe option three, four, five, depending on the play. And again, gives you all that versatility. Excited to see how they start to use him when he gets into town when he starts practicing with the team and how he fits in to this Cincinnati Bengals offense. Yeah, it's fun. It's another wrinkle. It's another storyline. And it does make the Bengals better.
Starting point is 00:08:44 If you're bringing in a guy that has had 400 plus yards in every single year of his career, even with the trade, even with different quarter, backs, all of those things, it matters. And I do think he's going to matter. Really good get by the Cincinnati Bengals. But it was DJ Day here at Paycor Stadium or at least at the indoor practice facility. We got rained on at least a little bit, but not a ton. We'll get to DJ Day coming up next.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Today's show is brought to by Monarch Money. Ever wish managing your money felt easier? Well, it can with Monarch money. Whether you're growing your savings or planning a big purchase, monarch puts you in the driver's seat. It's like having your own personal CFO giving you full visibility and control over your finances. You know, Noah Fant probably has monarch money. And that's why he's like, I can take a little less to go to the Bengals because I have monarch money.
Starting point is 00:09:36 And they're my own personal CFO. So we're going to continue to manage things and build wealth. And that's what you can do with monarch money. And whether you share your finances with someone a significant other or if it's just doing, you're trying to keep everything in line and it's busy season because you're, a busy NFL football player, take control of your finances with Monarch Money. Starting point is 00:10:09 All right, Jake. Let's get into DJ Day. DJ Turner. We've seen the comments. You've seen the comments. We've talked about it some. I try not to be too harsh early in camp, but then it was day one and then day two and then day three and then day four.
Starting point is 00:10:22 And even before you got here, it was like, DJ Turner's been on the wrong side on a lot of these highlights. Well, he was on the right side of a bunch of highlights on Thursday, having by far his best training camp practice this year, maybe his best training camp practice ever. I mean, it was awesome. He had five past breakups. He was going up against T.
Starting point is 00:10:40 He was going up against Jamar, Andre Yosevash. DJ Turner had himself a day. And you did it in a number of ways, too. I don't think you could have a better practice than this if you're DJ Turner. I think it's pretty tough to do. When you have five pass breakups and those are coming with Joe Burrow, in the ball to T. Higgins to Jemar Chase and Andre Yosevash, we just talked about how fantastic he was on Wednesday. Hard to beat that. He had one of those vintage DJ Turner pass breakups on a crosser
Starting point is 00:11:07 where he just undercuts Jamar Chase, who's not slow. It was a bit of a lofted ball from Joe Burrow, a lot of touch on that pass on the, I don't know, 10, 15-yard crosser to Jamar Chase and DJ Turner undercuts it, gets his hand on the ball. Jamar Chase doesn't have a chance, doesn't even really get his hands up because. he knows that he's undercut. And if anything, you might have to tackle DJ Turner at that point, right? He might have to try to play defense himself. Another one is going against T. Higgins down the sideline, not a favorable matchup on paper
Starting point is 00:11:38 for DJ Turner. I think we can probably agree. Not the best matchup for DJ Turner in general to go against a big body, contested catch-winning, possession-type receiver-like team who can win vertically and can high point. And fighting through the catch point, DJ Turner is able to get the. the ball out of T. Higgins' hands late in that rep. So winning downfield, winning on crossers, winning against Jemar, winning against T. Making life difficult for T. Higgins on another deep ball on another play that leads to an
Starting point is 00:12:09 incompletion, making life difficult for Andrei Yosevash, tight coverage. And when you do that consistently and you do that in different ways against these different players for the Bengals, very easy to call that a very impressive day for DJ Turner, a big bounceback day. And he said he needed it if you go find the interview, the locker room interview with DJ Turner on social media. And hopefully that's a boost of confidence for Turner that leads into continued performances as the secondary competition is going at this point. Cam Taylor, Britt, not practicing as they're managing him, according to Zach Taylor on Thursday. So you're seeing a lot of different guys get in at a lot of different spots on this defense and different guys making plays today was DJ's day.
Starting point is 00:12:53 It was. And it's really good to see because, all these other guys had had their day, at least to a degree. Like, George, you've seen Jordan Battle make plays. Dax Hill has had some nice reps. And they still did today, too. And they did. And we can get to those.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Look at you. Look at you trying to get at. But DJ, everyone was noticing it. And I thought it was fun during practice. I started to tweet out these clips of DJ making plays. It's like, he saw our tweets. He saw it. Oh, my God, DJ.
Starting point is 00:13:19 You talked all that. And it is a reminder that. It's training. These things change in a hurry. It's still July as we're recording this. Now, we just finished our last practice of July, but it's still July. And these things, they just change. They evolve.
Starting point is 00:13:36 And yes, in this React in the moment type of coverage, which everybody, you want it and you want to know what's going on, you can get locked up and like, oh, man, does DJ Turner just suck? Like, I'm sure plenty of fans have thought. Or is he the guy that has made plays it throughout training camp, multiple camp. camps before this. As a rookie, he was making plays. Last year he was making plays before he got hurt and he suffered the broken collarbone last year. He was really starting to come on on the field and real games that mattered. So hopefully he can build on this. You mentioned the locker room interview.
Starting point is 00:14:10 The thing I loved about it is he was just like, wouldn't be better tomorrow. Now, the Bengals are off tomorrow, but it wasn't like he was like, man, I really needed it. I lost my confidence. I knew I could do it. He wasn't really reflecting at all. He was just like, yeah, I got to be better tomorrow. And that's a good mindset to have as a corner, especially if you're facing Jamar T, because you're going to get beat. You're going to get beat. And if you view it that way, whether you win or lose, I think it's a good mental space to be in. So DJ Day, he wasn't the only one, but certainly DJ Day in the secondary. The other thing that really stood out to me, Jake, and it's been in multiple days now.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Jordan Battle is on the all-time trash talk train camp team. He, him and Jamar screaming at each other from across the field. Yeah. They're out. They're not playing. They're not in practice right now. It's the second team. And Jamar Yapen, Jordan Yapping, Jordan Yellen, Jamar, Yap.
Starting point is 00:15:04 And it was under control, but it was just, it's really good. It was. It was under control. But they were far apart from one another. It makes it easy to control. So just to paint the picture, you got the defense on the sideline, the offense is on the field behind the play. So Jamar's like on the far hash and Jordan, Jordan battles on the sideline. They're like 40 yards apart, 45 yards apart.
Starting point is 00:15:28 And there's been some chippiness. We've mentioned it on the pod, just in general. But one moment that I really thought, oh, this might happen. Jamar makes a catch, turns up the sideline. And Geno Stone would have pushed him out of bounds. Jamar keeps running normal practice stuff. And Jordan comes over and shoulders. It's a love tap, but shoulders, Jamar Chase.
Starting point is 00:15:52 and I don't know. Did you see that in real time? Okay. I saw you guys talking about it. And I was like, oh, here we go. And Jamar handled it very well. But like it was like if there was going to be a moment, like that could have been it. Because Jamar could have just thrown the ball at him and it could have been off.
Starting point is 00:16:10 And it didn't happen. But I like seeing that because they're really pushing each other right now. And I asked the receiver about that. And he was like, yeah, they're making their plays. but it was like like not praising the defense like yeah they're going out there they're making plays it's great like annoyed which i think is a good thing i do think it's a good thing because i think both sides are making each other better obviously we'll see how all this plays out in preseason games and regular season games there's only so much you can take away from training camp i feel like i've
Starting point is 00:16:39 said that every single day stop disclaimer in here instant reaction top five defense are not it's been impressive to see the defense consistently making plays again when joe burroughs the ball to those receivers. Zach Taylor talked about that a little bit in his presser today when he's saying sometimes, you know, we look at a play and say it's an incomplete pass. He refers specifically to Barrett Carter. And Barrett Carter, I think I posted this play on social media. He undercuts a pass. He jumps up, nearly picks off to flex a Joe Burrow pass in the red zone on Wednesday. And Zach was referring to that play saying, look, sometimes the offense, you have the right read, you have the right decision, you have a good throw.
Starting point is 00:17:20 sometimes defense just makes a great play. And Barrett Carter jumps four feet high and gets his hands on a ball that's intended to land in a receiver's hands behind him, 10 yards behind him or six yards behind him, going along the back of the end zone. Sometimes that happens. And Zach's perspective of that sort of thing is their plays that to him are a win-win, even if technically, yeah, it's an incomplete pass. The defense wins a wrap.
Starting point is 00:17:46 I get that. But when the process is correct. then you're happy with both sides there, right? So another example today's practice. You get Joe Burrow stepping up in the pocket, off platform, barring a deep ball. I think it's a post kind of thing that gets flattened out of the top. Jermaine Burton coming up from the opposite side of the formation
Starting point is 00:18:06 ends up on the other numbers in the end zone, and it's a deep ball. And off platform, nearly perfect throw to Jermaine Burton, Burton can't quite bring it in. It's maybe a half foot overthrown. Germain can only get one hand to it. There's good coverage there from whoever picks up Jermaine Burton on that play.
Starting point is 00:18:25 I don't remember who it was. And I think it was battle at safety. Yes. Taking up the post entering his zone. It was battle because he talked after that. Yeah. Yeah. That's right.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Of course. How could I forget? Come on, baby. It was right in front of me too. Not getting that. Come on, baby. Joe. So you got good defense there.
Starting point is 00:18:43 You got a good throw. And Joe's forced to step up. and he's managing the pocketwell. So a number of victories for different Bengals, depending on your perspective, and again, it falls incomplete, but on the other end, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:55 could have gone down as a pressure, a fantastic throw because I still think it was an awesome throw and an awesome catch. So those are the margins you're talking about, but when the process is still good for a number of players on a number of plays, you can have those win-win situations, even though the result is what it is.
Starting point is 00:19:11 And I think that is a sign of why we've had so much back and forth. because in the past, I feel like in past training camps, it's been like, oh, the defense won this day and they dominated. And then, oh, Joe bounced back and he dominated. And it's usually hot and cold by the day. I think it's like hot and cold by the play. Like, I think it's really back and forth competitive there.
Starting point is 00:19:32 The defense has certainly had its fair share of wins. And I think won the day. They're still more on the defense. There's some notes on offense, some injury notes as well. We will get to all of that coming up next. Today's show is brought to you by five-hour energy, and it is time to fuel up with five-hour energy and their new five-hour energy transfusion. Well, let's stay on the topic of the defense before we shift gears and talk about there were some highlights for the offense on this day that probably by and large, I agree with you, James. The defense came out on top. by Joe Burrow, an interview with Tom Pellasero after practice.
Starting point is 00:21:22 The Bengal second round pick Demetrius Knight. We've talked about the linebackers. We've talked about Demetrius Knight. I do think that he's having, as Joe Burrow said, a really good training camp. And maybe one of the more impressive plays you can see from a linebacker that leads to a clean interception for Dax Hill, has a good chance that have returned there with not a whole lot of guys between him in the end zone after he gets up off the ground. But Barrett Carter with a Jamar Chase wrap in coming across the field. behind him. He feels Joe Burrow intending to throw that ball to Jamar Chase or sees
Starting point is 00:21:54 as reading the eyes of Joe Burrow there and manages to break into the window where that ball is thrown. We've seen Joe Burrow complete this wrap in behind a linebacker, behind the second level to Jamar Chase on that in-breaker behind the second level so many times in Joe Burroughs career. Instead, Demetrius Knight gets a handout on it. It's tipped. Dax Hill also getting in to the fun today in that secondary, collecting the tip drill for a good interception before it hits the ground. I watched that play a number of times, James. I think I heard you say that there were some questions as whether or not it hit the ground, no chance. That's a clean pick there for Dax Hill and a really nice play between Barrett Carter, the rookie, and Dax in coverage.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Guess who told me it hit the ground? We told you hit the ground. Dax. Didn't really? I swear, because I had no doubt in my mind. If it did, it was when his body was in He said it touched the ground a little bit. Instant replay, though. But regardless, that's why I brought it up. I was like, oh, well, if he's saying that it might have hit the ground, well, then... From our angle, touch the-clink, yeah, clean. So, spoiler, now you know who told me that.
Starting point is 00:23:00 But regardless, heck of a play, heck of a play by Demetrius Knight. And Joe Burrow now back-to-back interceptions on back-to-back days, almost through a third interception where he's being pressured, rolled to his right, flipped it out there to Chase Brown. and Logan Wilson almost had a nice one-handed left. It would have been a one-handed lefty pick six because he was off. It was over. He would have walked into the end zone backwards with the rest of the defense on his back. And couldn't hold on.
Starting point is 00:23:30 I don't think he was expecting Joe to throw it. He got his arm out there, but couldn't bring it in. But yeah, those are examples of this linebacker unit making some plays. And the Demetrius Knight one, of course, I wasn't rolling on that one. This is the example of training camp too. I tweeted one-on-one against Drew Sample, and Drew Sample made a catch yesterday against Demetrius Knight. Well, then today he comes back and makes a play against Jamar Chase,
Starting point is 00:23:53 a day after getting mad that he didn't guard Jamar and slamming his hands on the ground when Jamar made a catch on him. He made that a nice play today. And he's been making plays. It's really interesting also, not just in coverage, to see these linebackers being used in various blitz packages as well. Logan Wilson had, but would have been probably, a pretty clean hit. The Bengals are still doing so many twists games up front, linebackers
Starting point is 00:24:21 getting into that action as well. It was Logan Wilson kind of wrapping around a stunt, I believe, would have had a clean shot at Joe Burrow on one play. I feel like Shamar Stewart and Miles Murphy had to let up on another play where they would have met at the quarterback, that quarterback being Joe Burrow, who they obviously didn't hit on the play. But I've seen those flashes from Shamar and being able to run that arc around Orlando Brown. Now, from where we're watching, we're watching from the end zone. It's hard to tell how deep those arcs are, but it looked like those guys to me when I watch that play again on my phone did have to let up a little bit to not hit the quarterback there. So some potential wins for the edge rushers there, Miles Murphy and on the left side on that play,
Starting point is 00:25:06 Samar Stewart on the right side on that play on the field together for a number of snaps on Thursday. So that's kind of cool to see as those guys continue to battle for snaps and so that the Bengals have some pass rushing depth, which continues to be a question. And with Amarius Mims not practicing, that's an injury note on offense that we have to get to today. He's dealing with something with his right hand. It doesn't sound serious. Zach Taylor talking about, again, managing Amarius Mims, getting him the day off today with a day off for the team tomorrow, hopefully getting him in better shape for the preseason game on Thursday. and it was Jalen Rivers for the most part today after it was Jalen Rivers and Devin Cochran manning the tackles.
Starting point is 00:25:47 I think it was Jalen Rivers for the entire practice, at least as far as I saw, working with the ones at right tackle. And honestly, I know I just mentioned a rep where Miles Murphy might have beaten him, but I've been pretty impressed with Jalen Rivers throughout this training camp. I think he's holding his own or more than holding his own. He's looked pretty solid. And if that's your swing tackle, again, we'll see how it is in preseason games. but I think he's been solid to start his rookie campaign in Cincinnati. And I think that's why we've talked a lot about potentially using him as a guard.
Starting point is 00:26:16 I think the Bengals are like, no, look. One, we need a swing tackle. Two, he has experienced. Three, he's capable of handling it. Instead of giving him four spots to learn, let's make sure he can learn these two because we need him. And it makes sense. Amarius is injury history.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Orlando's injury history over the past couple of years. Orlando never got hurt before basically becoming a Bengal. And now he's had little Knicks here and there. I don't think it's anything to be overly concerned about, but if he misses time, you need someone in there. And yet, and I can feel it, I get the concern at Guard. And after the Noah Fan edition, I was asking someone today, I was like, do you think they know?
Starting point is 00:26:53 Do you think they know that Guard should be a concern? Because now you have Seth McLaughlin, you have Tanner or Tanner. It's a lot of Tanner's, but that's not what I'm talking about. Matt Lee, Ted Carris, that you have these guys there. you have Andrew Rame as well as you have four centers. Like Cordell Wilson's working with the twos at both guard spots right now. Both guard spots. Like you guys are the one that benched Cordell,
Starting point is 00:27:20 just to be y'all benched him. So it's interesting. And Shamar, I turned to Jake at one point and I was like, Shamar just ran past Cordell. Ran through. Ran through Cordell Wilson. It got the, when Cordell was at left guard. And you're like, yep, that sounds like.
Starting point is 00:27:37 So that was pretty funny. Sometimes we have fun out here at practice. A couple other highlights for the offense today. I honestly thought I didn't see that play. That the interior held up a little bit better today than I think I've noticed from them throughout these practices so far. But I've got a plus here next to 81 on a catch-in traffic. So Jermaine Burton had a nice catching traffic at one point. Charlie Jones on a deep ball, one of the, I think you mentioned this one at some point.
Starting point is 00:28:04 Jake Browning through it on a deep ball for. deep ball. The best ball Jake Browning has thrown all camp. And honestly, Charlie was covered up until the last second and he popped out with two guys around him right in the end zone, flipped it over the goalpost. Charlie Jones, by the way, has been making plays. It's another guy. I think it's three practices in a row where Charlie Jones has made multiple plays and some nice catches. We just couldn't see some of them. So we weren't able to tell you about them as we sat in these chairs. also have in my notes a play after that tip drill pick that Dax Hill may or may not have caught, according to Daxil. He caught it.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Andre Yosevash on a slot fade gets behind Dax on that play, clean play for Yoshi there. I think the only guy I don't have any major positive notes for as far as skill guys go for the Bengals today is T. Did you catch any big plays for T? Yeah, Joe hit T on a deep ball. Jalen Davis was in coverage. So a huge size advantage. Right. So this is one where, yeah,
Starting point is 00:29:06 bad corner ride receiver matchup there, but that's one where T is taking a lick in the regular season. It was Gino Stone coming over on the top. I think they were split safeties deep, man underneath it. And Gino didn't hit him. To Gino's credit, I was standing next to a scout from out of town on that play. And he's like, good teammate there, not hitting, not hitting T. would have been contested, let's say, a little bit more than it was if it were a live game.
Starting point is 00:29:36 But it was a nice play for T. Higgins, given that Gino Stone did not light him off. That scout? Jake Liscoe's neighbor. So you can tell where he, who he's scouting for. Yeah, except he's local-ish. Is he local? Yeah. A lot of those scouts for those teams are here, so they don't have to send him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:56 That makes sense. Speaking, this is our last. time that we're going to be talking before Saturday night. So see us. Come see us Saturday camp meet up.
