Starting point is 00:00:04 You are Locked-on Broncos Postcast, powered by Mile High Sports, part of Locked-on Sports, Denver, on the Locked-on Podcast Network, your team every day. Whoa, holy moly, what a game, a game for the ages, a comeback for the ages, some mile-high magic in the air, as somehow, some way, the Denver Broncos, rally down 19 zip at one point in this game. This is one of the craziest games that I think I've ever seen in my life. Definitely the crazy. Just, yeah, I mean, one of the craziest games that I've just seen point-bank, period,
Starting point is 00:00:49 not just football, I'm talking baseball, I'm talking basketball, I'm talking hockey, I'm talking soccer. That was a sensational comeback victory for the Denver Broncos as they, again, take down the New York Giants, the New York football Giants. You talked a lot of smack. Your final score, 33 to 32. Oh my goodness. So much to unpack here this evening.
Starting point is 00:01:15 And guys, tonight's episode of your locked on Broncos postcast is brought to you by our friends over at prize picks. Download the prize picks app today and use code locked on NFL to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Where do we begin? Where are we supposed to start with a game like this? I mean, we probably, if you're a Bronco fan and you're, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:33 didn't watch this game. and you have a DVR and you taped it, you might as well just fast forward to the fourth quarter because the first three quarters, at least for the Broncos, was absolutely abysmal. I mean, I'm sitting here and I'm like, okay, like last week against the Jets, you know, London, a bit of a funky dynamic.
Starting point is 00:01:48 They won the game, I'll give them a pass, right? But you expect the Broncos to come out today and play much better, in particular on offense. And that was the opposite of the case for 75% of the game. And then the fourth quarter rolls around and it's like, voila, where was this all game? I mean, just a heck of a gutsy performance. And again, somehow some way, the Denver Broncos, despite being in a massive deficit,
Starting point is 00:02:12 figure out a way to rally from behind to take down the New York Giants 33 to 32 in just absolutely unbelievable and spectacular fashion. Bo Nix did not have it for three quarters. He figured it out in the fourth quarter. Evan Ingram, you get a catch. Cortland Sutton, you mirror Demarius Thomas. I mean, it's just, it all came together for the Denver Broncos at the right time in Will Lutz with the cherry on top, the game-winning field goal,
Starting point is 00:02:36 and the Broncos managed to steal a game that, frankly, through three quarters, they had absolutely positively no business winning. What a game for this Denver Broncos team. I mean, it's just, I'm still in awe of what we just saw from this team here this evening or afternoon into the evening now here in the Mile High City. Wow, wow, wow.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Okay, yeah, this is your locked on Broncos postcast. I've got some thoughts on our pal, Cody Rourke. I was talking with him during the game. I'll tell you that here in just a moment because Cody, you might need a little chirp at him in the comments section on the Lockedon Broncos podcast. But yes, I'm your host, Anilo Piro. You guys can follow me on social media at media by AP. If you're watching live on YouTube, do me a favor.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Hit that like button, smash that subscribe button. That way you guys never ever miss an episode of your Locked on Broncos postcast. But, you know, this was a very emotional day for the Denver Broncos. You know, the celebration of the Super Bowl 50 team, a majority of the players that were on that team were here at the game today. But obviously the big story of the day, the most important story of the day, was the Denver Broncos officially enshrining wide receiver, the late great Demarius Thomas, into their ring of honor. And, you know, what has seen that was, we heard from Peyton
Starting point is 00:03:49 Manning. You saw Manuel Sanders on the sideline at halftime, you know, tearing up a little bit at one point when they unveiled his name here in the stadium. And what you saw today from the Denver Broncos, that was Demarius Thomas looking down on Empower Field at Mile High and blessing this team. That was a mile high magic type of win because that's the only way the Broncos won this game. I understand they made some clutch plays, Jackson Dart, interception and whatnot, but that was
Starting point is 00:04:13 a magical, absolutely positively magical win for the Denver Broncos. And I 100% believe the emotions and the energy and the juice with the Super Bowl 50 team and the Demarius Thomas, you know, ring of honor ceremony. I
Starting point is 00:04:29 100% believe that factored into this Denver Broncos come back today. No, if, ant or butts about it. You cannot convince me otherwise. Demarius Thomas and the magic of that Super Bowl 50 team and the magic that you were used to that we've all seen with this Denver Broncos team was on display here today in the fourth quarter. Again, a really ugly start to the game for the Broncos, but when the going gets tough, they locked in, or should I say they locked on. They dialed up what they needed to on offense and on defense. So just a phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal win for the Denver
Starting point is 00:04:59 Broncos, not enough good things to say about how the game ended. There's a lot to criticize and talk about and unpack here a little bit about how the game started, but Garrett Bulls said as much in his post game press conference. It's not about how you start is about how you finish. And the Denver Broncos today finished in absolutely epic and spectacular fashion. You could not have drawn it up any better. You could not write a movie script that plays out the way that this game played out here today. Again, down 19 zip at one point, no points at all at home through three quarters of football.
Starting point is 00:05:31 And you're sitting here like, what's going on? What's wrong with this? team like what's up with Sean Payton and it's like we get to the fourth quarter flip switches mile high magic de merrious thomas looking down super bowl 50 team in the house and the Denver Broncos show up and show out in the fourth quarter and hand the giants an absolutely abysmal loss and give themselves a confidence boost heading into next week that's now two consecutive just gutsy victory from this gutsy victories from this Denver Broncos team absolutely gutsy love to see that yeah I see we'll talk about the penalties here in a minute all that kind of stuff but right now man
Starting point is 00:06:03 I got to ask the question. Let me know in the comment section. Again, Broncos down 19 zip at one point. No points scored through the first three quarters of the game. Fourth quarter not looking good, it's bleak. So my question to you, do you still believe? Do you still believe? Because I know there was a lot of people. I saw it on social media.
Starting point is 00:06:20 I could see, you know, faces and emotions as well. There's a lot of people that were checking out on Bo Nix, a lot of people that were checking out on Sean Payton. And what do they do? When their backs are against the wall, it's like that South Park episode where Randy's, you know, going at the youth baseball, the other team's, you know, dad, you know, he gets knocked down, knock down, knocked down, knock down. Randy Marsh stands back up.
Starting point is 00:06:40 I didn't hear no bell. The Denver Broncos did not hear no bell tonight. And what's the old saying? It ain't over until the fat lady sings. It was not over until it was over. And the Denver Broncos rally. 33 points. Just think about that.
Starting point is 00:06:53 No points through the first three quarters. And they put up 33 points in the fourth quarter alone. 33 points for a game is fantastic. 33 points in the fourth quarter. What is that? I've never seen anything like that before. That was absolutely spectacular. And again, when their backs were against the wall,
Starting point is 00:07:12 and the going was tough, Sean Peyton, Bow Nix, Cortland Sutton, Marvin Mims, all of these guys locked in. All of these guys stepped up. And the Broncos are rewarded with a gutsy 33 to 32 victory. Wow, wow, wow. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section. I see Bo got me 43 in fantasy.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Yeah, if you started Bo Nix, probably hated yourself for the first three quarters. And then once you came around to the fourth quarter, you're like, ah, I knew it. I knew it was coming. I knew it was coming all along. All right. Let's go over some stats here real quick. We'll also talk about Demarius Thomas.
Starting point is 00:07:41 If you got any Demarius Thomas thoughts, feel free to drop those in the comment section. Bo Nix today threw the ball 50 times. And you're going to have to do that when you're playing from behind for, you know, essentially the entire game. 27 for 50, 279 passing yards and two touchdowns. And here's the thing about Bo Nicks. And why, if you're a Broncos fan, even when the going gets tough, you still need to believe in Bo and believe in Sean in this offense because Bo Nix does not make critical errors at critical points in the game. And those two major errors that can just completely knock you off
Starting point is 00:08:09 course late in these games, taking sacks when you shouldn't and throwing interceptions in bad spots. Bo Nix does not do that in those clutch situations. And again, the two touchdowns today for, you know, the overall performance today from Bo in the fourth quarter there, you know, putting up those 33 on answer, let me start that over. And that's what you saw from Bo Nix today late in this game. I mean, again, Again, no points to the first three quarters. And when you get to the fourth quarter, you know, no self-inflicted errors really plaguing the Denver Broncos today.
Starting point is 00:08:38 No interceptions, no sacks really when you needed to avoid that. And the Broncos, because of that, were able to hang around, hang around, hang around, and eventually break through and win this game 33 to 32. Nothing really going for the Broncos on the, I mean, I shouldn't say nothing. J.K. Dobbins in the rushing attack, 14 carries for 81 yards. There's nothing eye-popping necessarily.
Starting point is 00:08:57 And then the receiving department, I mean, Cortland Sutton, He had himself a game. Six receptions for 87 yards and makes a big catch there late in the game that ultimately helps the Denver Broncos win this game. And, you know, Cortland Sutton, Sutton, you know, at his postgame press conference wearing that 88 DeMarius Thomas jersey. You know, Cortland Sutton this week talking about how much DeMarius Thomas meant to him when he played with him here in Denver, you know. And it was just so cool to see Cortland Sutton kind of channel some of that energy, channel that clutchness that we've seen or we saw so many times over and over and over from Demarius Thomas and have that translate in real time. the year 2025. Again, I think that Demarius Thomas, the energy, all that kind of stuff. This was a mile high magic type of victory. Demarius Thomas, look him down on the Denver Broncos from up above. And you just, you can't write a better script. You really can't.
Starting point is 00:09:44 What a win for the Denver Broncos, 100%. Marvin Mims, six receptions for 85 yards. Love to see that. Evan Ingram, five for 42. You know, got different guys getting involved. So love to see that. All right, let me hit my break here real quick, guys. Starting point is 00:13:12 It's hot in here, sweating. Pumped up after that game, man. What a win for the Denver Broncos. Welcome on back into your locked on Broncos postcast. I'm your host, Neil Lopiro. You guys can follow me on social media at media by AP. And let me tell you about this beef. I need you guys to chirp Cody in the comment section.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Because I'm sitting here, we're watching the game, right? And, oh, you know, Cody, oh, oh, oh, it's over. Oh, what's wrong with this often? oh, oh, what's going on with the Broncos? They're not going to win this game. This offense is broken. What's going on with the defense? You know, Cody.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Classic glass half empty, which I don't know if you guys know. That's my guy. That's my guy. So it's all playful fun, right? And I turned to him like, dude, it's 19. Like, they could get back into this game. Like, the Broncos are very much within reach of this. Like, obviously it was ugly.
Starting point is 00:13:57 And obviously the Giants were playing much better than the Broncos for majority of the game. But, you know, oh, here he is. Here he is. I was just chirping you. I was telling him how you, uh, You doubted the Broncos today. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it was not great in the fourth quarter.
Starting point is 00:14:12 You're going to have a nice postgame show. Sarah and I just recorded it. It's going to be up here shortly. I want to give a shoutout to Ryan Blackburn, host a locked-on nugget. Ryan Cherpern. For the reverse jinx. He came in clutch.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Okay. He came in clutch, but wow. I mean, what a game. You should have seen Cody, folks. Oh, what's wrong with you often? But they won the game. Awesome comeback. The offense was rough.
Starting point is 00:14:33 The offense was brutal. We'll talk about that later on the week. Enjoy the victory. but you know. Shout the time I'm my man, Dennis. Yeah, let's go. Also, we got some really cool stuff coming up in the future here. Anilapiro, myself, Sarah Bedinger,
Starting point is 00:14:44 and a special former Bronco potentially here. Squad shows coming up, baby. Stay tuned, hit that like button, smash that subscribe button. That way you guys don't miss anything here on your Locked on Broncos podcast and postcast. Shout out my guy, Cody, man. That's my guy. I'm just teasing him a little bit. But yes, what a comeback for the Denver Broncos, man.
Starting point is 00:15:01 I really, I just, it's crazy. Let's talk about the bad for just a moment here. Or here's one good thing. The Broncos limited Cam Scataboo to 16 carries and 60 yards. So that's good considering the way that he's been playing. But a couple of busted coverages for Denver on defense. You know, I know a lot of people are probably frustrated at Riley Moss with some of the penalties that you saw today. Thankfully, we're not talking about this in a negative light necessarily because the Broncos managed to win this football game.
Starting point is 00:15:25 But we got to touch on that here just a little bit as well. I mean, Jackson Dart and this Giants team, man, like it's going to take them a little while to figure it out. But this is a talented squad. I mean, they've got some juice for the first time in a long time. 100%. We got a comment here. Great win. And somehow I have less confidence in this team. That's kind of crazy, but I can understand where you're coming from because it, like, I think the, like next week's game against Dallas now is going to be so interesting.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Because the way that I'm looking at it is, what is it now, four wins in a row for the Broncos, right? Cincinnati, Philly, last week against the Jets and now here against the Giants. So four wins in a row for the Denver Broncos. But you got to think about it as well of like, okay, like you took care of business against Cincinnati. You love to see that. A great fourth quarter helped push you ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles late. You steal a victory there. That's great.
Starting point is 00:16:11 But these two most recent wins for the Denver Broncos, you know, style points I think do matter to a certain extent. And I think they also are a little bit on the lucky end right now. I mean, you look at that. I mean, if the Jets could, you know, have some semblance of an offense, maybe the Broncos don't win that game last week. You know, and if the Giants just, you know, don't play to lose instead of playing to win,
Starting point is 00:16:29 maybe this game goes the other way as well. And so, you know, I'm not expecting a Broncos lost or anything like that. But like, if the Broncos are going to beat the Dallas Cowboys, an offense that can really run up the score. Look at what they did today against Washington. I understand their defense isn't great, but I haven't seen enough from Bo Nixon's offense to make me think that they can, you know, hang in a shootout with a team like Dallas. The Broncos are going to have to bring their A game next week, folks. 100%. The Dallas Cowboys, I don't think are as bad as many people think, at least on offense. And so the Broncos, you know, I don't think they can
Starting point is 00:16:56 get away with sleepwalking through three quarters as they had the last two weeks. It was kind of the inverse, right? This week, they were bad the first three quarters and picked it up in the fourth. last week against the Jets, they were good for the first quarter and then kind of, you know, snoozed along the rest of the way and squeaked out of victory. So if the Broncos want to beat the Dallas Cowboys next week, it's a big advantage that they're back at home, but they're going to have to play really sharp and crisp football to take down and slow down that Dak Prescott led offense. And I know the Broncos defense is elite.
Starting point is 00:17:24 But I just, you know, this Cowboys defense can really put some points on the board. And the thing is, like, if you're, if you're the Broncos and I understand they stormed back, you know, down however many points they were today against the Giants. You can't keep putting yourself in those positions and expecting to win games like you did today. So, you know, Sean Payton said as much in his postgame, they have got a lot to clean up. They're going to enjoy this win here tonight.
Starting point is 00:17:46 But once they wake up tomorrow morning, it's back to work. It's back to the drawing board. And frankly, it's time to clean up some of the mess that we've seen from the Denver Broncos. I mean, this was week seven, folks. Week seven. This is not week two.
Starting point is 00:17:57 This is not week three, right? This is not working out training camp, you know, kinks or anything like that. We are into the meat and potatoes of this NFL. season. And the Denver Broncos, they've won some close games. They've done it in epic fashion. But there is a lot, a lot, a lot that this Denver Broncos team needs to clean up if they want to reach the level and live up to the expectations that Sean Payton is set for them, which is a team that can contend for a Super Bowl. That's just the reality situation. All right.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Fired up, man. What a game here tonight. Let's talk about Demarius Thomas real quick. I did two hours this morning on 1043, The Fans. So if you tuned into that, appreciate y'all. Can't say enough good things about the guy, man. I never had the opportunity to interact with him, but I've been in and around media for about 10 years. And I've talked to some players and former teammates of his. And I think the thing that stands out to me the most about Demarius Thomas is how there's literally not a single bad thing I've ever heard about it,
Starting point is 00:18:51 not a single thing. And I think even more than that is the fact that Demarius Thomas, when you talk about DT in this day and age, you don't obviously you talk about the football, right? You talk about Tebow to Demarius. You talk about some of the epic performances, Super Bowl 50 champions, all that. kind of stuff. But when people talk about the Marius Thomas that knew him and played with him,
Starting point is 00:19:09 they always start with DT the person. It's never DT the player first. It's always DT the person, talking about the smile, his energy, the way he treated others. And what a special way, because I was sitting here and I'm like, man, the Broncos are going to get whooped and be embarrassed in front of the Super Bowl 50 squad on a day that's supposed to be exciting and, you know, have a lot of juice to it because they're retired, you know, they're enshrining to as Thomas to the Ring of Honor. And it was anything but that through the first three quarters. But again, fourth quarter magic, mile high magic, DT, looking down.
Starting point is 00:19:46 I mean, that is everything that you could ask for from a Denver Broncos perspective. Like you'd like them to play better through the first three quarters. But to win in that fashion on this day with those guys in attendance and the magnitude of the moment, that's special. That's special. That's awesome. That's awesome. Love it.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Absolutely love it. All right, what else? I think we've touched on and we talked penalties. I can't go crazy if they would have lost the game. I would have gone crazy about that. Garrett Bull's touchdown play that they tried to run. He was wide open, wide open. I understand the ball got tipped at one point,
Starting point is 00:20:20 but he was well open before that bow even threw the ball. So we don't have to talk about that because they won the game. But I was sitting there. I'm like, what are we doing? And then that was the same drive, I believe, with the Broncos ended up going forward on fourth down. Didn't get it? like these are things that if they lost the game,
Starting point is 00:20:37 you're going to look back on and be like, huh? Like what was going on there? What are we doing? So, yeah, I got a comment here. Yes, DT's spirit was there for sure. 100% know if ands or butts about it. Today in the Broncos victory over the New York Giants in that comeback fashion,
Starting point is 00:20:52 Demarius Thomas's spirit was looking down on the Denver Broncos on a day in which he was enshrined in the Denver Broncos Ring of Honor. Love to see it. Absolutely love to see it. All right, what else? What else? Like button, subscribe button? You guys do that already. I've said it a few times, but appreciate y'all.
Starting point is 00:21:07 You can also follow me on social, at media by AP. Talked about the Dallas game. And I think I'll leave you with this, man. At the end of the day, it wins a win. A win's a win. That's where we're at with this Denver Broncos team. And that's two weeks in a row for the Broncos that they get lucky a little bit. They get lucky a little bit.
Starting point is 00:21:29 So enjoy it. Live in the moment. Wake up tomorrow. Get ready for Dallas. I'll leave you with that. All right, folks. That's it for me. Go chirp Cody in the comments.
Starting point is 00:21:36 section on his next episode. Do me a favor there. Again, hit that like button, smash that subscribe button on your way out the door. What a win, what a performance, what a night for the Denver Broncos. Talk to you guys later.
