I'm a little Piro, and the Denver Broncos offense has been slicing and dicing out of the gate at Broncos trading camp.
Hilda Roy, Kamile High Sports.
One of my favorite songs at middle school was Drop It Like It's Hot by Mims.
And Marvin Mims has gotten out to a hot start at Broncos camp.
Sarah Bedinger, predominantly orange.
I've got one message to the rest of the AFC West.
It's only been two days of Broncos camp, but somebody get these beggars out of here.
And I'm Nick Ferguson.
Can looks be deceiving?
Absolutely they can.
A lot to unpack, a lot to dive into, and a lot to react to all on today's
Lacton Broncos squad.
Let's get into it.
From the South stands, it's the Broncos squad.
Everything Denver Broncos every week.
Covering all the big hits and game changing plays from the mile high city.
The way only the Lockdown Podcast Network can.
Gear up and squad up.
Bronco squad show starts now.
Oh, yes, happy Sunday.
And welcome on into your locked on Bronco squad show training camp is officially underway.
And there's literally so much to talk about on the program today.
And guys, today's episode of lockdown Bronco squad show is brought to you by our friends over at Fanduel to win all the action at fanduel.com to play daily dingers and make your free pick on who's hitting a homer this major league baseball season.
We got the whole crew here today at Elo Piro, Cody Roark, Sarah Bredinger, Nick Ferguson.
And there is literally, like I said, so much to talk about.
I feel like just in the few days that we were down there last be, Cody and Nick, dude.
Like it's like, there's this angle, there's that angle.
There's JK's press conference.
There's Bo Nix.
There's Taseom Hill speculation.
Like there's like literally a gazillion different things that we could start with today.
Fellows, what's up?
I tell you, there's been so much.
I feel like the sun has gotten to some people's heads out there in this media space.
But I'm excited, man.
the vibes of practice have been great.
There's been a lot of good competition going on across the board,
some intriguing storylines, some guys that we have not seen on the football field,
which has been a little surprised.
There's so much we've got to break down today.
And it's a happy Sunday because we're kind of getting back into schedule of the squad show routine
where Sundays when the Broncos play, you get a squad show after the game,
and then you get one in the week as well on Tuesday.
So, man, I'm excited.
I can't wait.
I love it, guys.
I mean, if there's anything that's going to interrupt the nightly ninja creamy
ice cream, you know, protein concoction.
It's football.
That's it.
I mean, nothing else is really acceptable when it comes to that.
So I can't wait, though.
I mean, it's been, it sounds like it's been great out there.
Like Anilo led off the show talking about Bo Nix.
I mean, the excitement around Bo.
How can you not be excited about it when the quarterback is playing well at practice and
progressing, making people forget the ankle thing and just, oh, he looks so good out there.
They're talking about his release.
They're talking about anticipation.
I mean, everything about it so far has just absolutely tickled me.
And then on top of it, Patrick Mahomes is throwing the ball right at the back of his center's head.
I love it.
There's a little, you know, shifting of the tide, so to speak, that has taken place.
And it finally feels like the Broncos are established.
You know what, guys, you know, sitting at practice, I can't help or kind of read the temperature of the fan base.
because the fan base, those who are at practice, good for those individuals,
but they kind of feed into what we're seeing because it's always a celebration when something happened.
But I am noticing something.
I am noticing a little difference in celebration.
Anytime anyone on the offense catches the ball, especially if you are Jay Leno,
there's an eruption of applause.
But when it comes to a defensive play, there's still some children.
chairs, but not as much for the offense. And here's what I'm saying, why that is happening.
For a while, we haven't really seen this offense be explosive in the regular season.
We haven't really seen a lot of plays in practice to make us really excited.
But we get a chance to see what Davis Webb's offense is going to look like with Jaylon
Wado. So as a defensive player, I'm a little biased. I don't like all that screaming and
yelling just solely for the offense. There's an out yard out. Five yard out. They catch
is the ball and the guy, the fans go crazy.
And I'm like, wait a minute.
There was a breakup on a past that was intended for a guy like Colin Sutton.
And the only people that are really kind of, you know, celebrating are the guys on the
demons inside of the ball.
And I'm like, yes, we can applaud this?
Can we get some love for the defense for the love of God?
Hey, shout out to, shout out to Riley Moss, man.
He's had a really good start at Trenton Camp.
He's had the breakup that you're talking about there.
And yeah, like, he's celebrating.
He's doing the incomplete and no one else.
Like the defensive guys are chair, but I'm like,
how can the fans aren't cheering for that?
Like, I think it's because they're used to seeing just the defense dominate,
which it has been a while.
Sarah and I've been talking about it all week long.
I've talked to you guys about it when I see you at training camp.
It's been a while since we've been able to sit here and kind of say like,
you know, hey, like usually the defense has just dominated the first week or so of practice.
And it really hasn't been the case.
The defense has had their moments,
but the offense has been pushing the needle a little bit,
which I'm excited about.
Yeah, I think, you know, a couple of things.
Nick, you and I had a conversation briefly.
I think that was on Friday, probably.
We're like, we're talking about what you were just kind of hinting it.
And it's like, pat or tan on defense is like, hmm, like slow motion, like 30%, you know, kind of brisk jog and all that kind of stuff.
And I agree with you too, Cody, right?
It's like the offense has certainly got out to a hot start.
I think that's been the resounding overarching takeaway from the first handful of days at Broncos training campus.
The offense has been electric.
The defense have certainly made some plays.
And to kind of go back to what you were saying for a moment there, Nick,
about why don't the fans get excited?
Like, as much as they do with the offense,
I think we all understand.
Like, the offense is just, you know,
people love points.
People love big plays, right?
Like, people don't respect defense the way that defense deserves to read.
Wow.
It's better.
Could you imagine the Broncos?
Could you imagine what the vibes would be like?
The Broncos have a dominant defense and a top five explosive offense at the same time.
Oh.
You know that, you know that.
GIF on Twitter.
You know that GIF on Twitter of Vince McManor?
He's in the chair and he goes,
oh,
just tilts back like,
like,
I think it was like when,
oh, man.
The guy fear,
you ever seen that?
It's like the Flavortown meter.
I'll say,
I'll say,
I don't care about Flavortown, man.
I don't care about that book,
man.
I was just like,
oh, let's go.
Like,
you don't need a blue chew for any of that.
We're already,
we're already going to go through a brick wall right now.
Wow.
Oh, I love it.
Bricked up Broncos.
bang. I mean, it's been exciting, though. It really has. I mean, also, like, the new Broncos
Taj Mahal, as I'm calling it, with the new facility has been awesome. And, you know, fans out there at the
shaded area, like, there's a lot to kind of be excited about. But I think just, just getting back
to the offense for here just a moment, it's not all just centered around Jalen Wap.
I think, like Evan Ingram has actually been pretty impressive. Like, he's been highly targeted,
I think, during the seven-on-seven periods. Justin Jolie is another guy that I think has made a bit of an
impact. Cortland Sutton as we talk about, Troy Franklin, too. I think Troy Franklin's,
you know, got off to a pretty hot start and as well as Marvin Mims, Cody. Well, the thing that
drives me nuts is that, you know, a lot of people, like, for example, the first couple days,
Pat Bryant making plays, Lord Jordan Humphrey making plays. Marvin Mims, the last handful
practices is making plays. And a lot of people are like, well, Troy Franklin's not making
plays. Like, Troy's not in the rotation. Troy's in the rotation. He just may not be the guy.
Like, for example, we talk about it. Each team period has got 12 plays. Each quarterback gets
four reps in the, in that period. And there's times where Troy,
is on for four or five plays, but like he may not be targeted, but he's still doing his thing.
I like some of the stuff that we've seen how Denver has used Troy in specific things.
Unfortunately, we can't go through the X's and O, I can't give that away because I'll get in trouble for that.
When the regular season tape comes out and now you start seeing it, then I can talk about it.
But Troy, I'm very excited to see what this wide receiver room looks like, because I do think outside of
Cortland and Jalen so far are the hypothesis that we said is like, okay, like these guys are going to see
attention. What does it do for other guys? We've seen that with
Lowe Jordan. We've seen that with Jay.
Jayland's made some plays. We've seen that with Marvin.
We've seen that with Evan. And that's because you have other guys on
the field that are creating those opportunities because the defense is changing their
focus. So I'm excited.
Hey, I have a question.
So speaking of the receivers,
maybe we'll get into this a little bit more later too, but I do have a question.
And I want to know your guys' thoughts, not necessarily all of just what's
happening through two practices without pads.
But when the cream ultimately rises to the top, when the dust ultimately settles,
do you think the Davis Webb led Broncos offense is going to feature as many different
personnel groupings?
I know there's been talk of a little bit more pre-snap motion.
The Broncos were not a high volume of pre-snap motion type of offense last year.
So if they're incorporating more pre-snap motion, does that mean less or I guess maybe just
fewer in general personnel changes.
With the wide receivers, is it going to settle on a top three at the position?
If everybody's healthy, say they all play 17 games just like J.K.
Dobbins is going to do.
If all these receivers are playing, is there going to be a settled upon third receiver?
Or are they going to package these guys differently?
What do you guys see being that sort of?
Do you think it's a competition for wide receiver three essentially?
Or is it going to be a, hey, we're just going to keep throwing mims.
and Franklin and Bryant out there at different times.
I'll let Ferg answer this one first.
Well, I'll say this.
They already have an idea.
We don't know.
See, we are the ones with the 30,000 foot view trying to figure it out.
They already know what they're trying to do in the room per se.
But I'll say this.
When we look at what we've seen from the first couple of days,
we've seen Evan Ingram, we've seen a lot of,
of Marvin Mims.
And it seems as though right now it's being a little forced down our throat more so than
we've ever seen during the regular season.
And I think that's with purpose and that's with intention.
All you had to do is watch one of Marvin Mims catches Saturday.
And it told me everything I needed to know.
He caught, it was like an explosive play.
I can't remember over who.
But the first thing he did after scoring that touchdown, he didn't go to kind of congratulate his
teammates and do that. He took the ball and he threw it at the building and he threw it at the
building with a certain level of aggressiveness that most people haven't really seen Marvin do.
And then he picked it up off the ground and threw it in the air. That told me that he is trying
to show this team. He's trying to let them know like, I can do this. You've seen me do this time
and time again. And I got to listen to all this talk, not about Jalen Wadu, but I got to listen to
talk about Pat Bryan and Troy Franklin, who's the number three. He said,
you know what time for talking is over i'm going to show you not in the game i'm going to show you
in practice and let every single person know that what i am capable of doing and here's the other
big part about it every time he has an explosive play like that there's a bunch of offensive
players running to him even they know what's actually going on so when we hear all this talk
about you know who's the number three no no no no there's no question that's the number three
But I also know people inside that building have the thoughts because they want to prove themselves right.
So they want Troy Franklin to be the guy.
They even want Pat Bryant to be the guy.
But I'm going to say this.
The damn guy is Marvin Mims and everyone better get on the damn train.
I'm with you.
I'm excited about what we've seen for Marvel.
Like that first one he caught was against Riley that he threw it against the building.
The second one he got behind Tyson Anderson.
His ability to track the football as well on those beat throws.
I don't want to say it like it's like this crazy hot take because it's not, but like Marvin's got the best hands on the team at the wide receiver position.
He really does.
And I'd say Pat Bryant's probably second on that.
And that's not a shot against Cortland or Jalen.
I just think in terms of sure-handed guys, Marvin's drop rate is suggestive of that.
Pat Bryant has made some really, really tough catches as well over the course of his early on career.
This is a good problem to have, though.
I think that's the thing.
It's like when we talk about this wide receiver room, a lot of people are like,
man, how can you feed all these guys?
It's a valid question, right?
Because there are only so many touches that can go around.
But once again, you do have a locker room of guys that are so supportive of one another.
Like, for example, you mentioned when Mims caught that,
guess who the first couple of guys were downfield to celebrate with him?
Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin, everybody else.
Offensive linemen are running down there.
Like, they love Marvin.
Like this team and the identity that they have, the closeness and the maturity.
And I would say just the culture that they have here, it is very selfless,
even though that there are guys that are trying to show out because it's time to get a contract and you have to show out.
But I like Marvin's mentality.
I think a lot of people are sleeping on him.
But it goes back to this as well to kind of go back to Seres point.
Like asking about wide receiver three, like here's what Sean Payton has also told us.
He says, we don't believe in a pecking order here, right?
And he's even asked the question about, you know, this route, you know, go through this amount of hitches.
And first thing that Sean Payne says was according to who.
And don't say PFF.
Thank goodness someone fired a shot at that garbage.
I'm telling you.
I'm excited.
This is the son latte gate, you name it.
We're here.
The vibes are at an all time hot.
What was the talk about PSLs from Damani Leach?
Because it got me.
I mean, I'm ready.
It's a little early.
I don't think he was talking about pumpkin spice lattes.
Maybe he was.
I don't know that.
But I mean, shoot, like when he said PSLs,
I'm thinking like, man, all right, it's got to be like 70 or below for me to be in the mood there.
But I mean, shoot.
Football's here.
So we might as well, right?
Ryan Edwards will have one day one.
He and Ryan will have advice.
You know, it's interesting.
And the answer that you're referencing about Sean where he's like, you know, that's why we don't have a depth chart.
Like, you know, and we'll talk about all these position battles if we want to call on that.
I believe Sean like paraphrasing, but it was something along the lines like there's competition,
all over the place.
There's competition at guard.
Quarterback, when he's saying quarterback,
he's talking backup quarterback.
Obviously, we know what Bo Nix is for this team.
Careful.
Someone might turn that into something that is not.
Oh, my God.
No, I know.
O'Nex is quarterback competition?
I post that on social media.
Like, a lot of people, like, the comments were so fired up.
I'm like, why would you say that?
Why is Sean talking about quarterback?
And my guys, like, Stidimson-Ellinger.
Like, that's a legitimate battle for QB2.
But, yeah, no, I mean, Marvin,
here's what I would say about Marvin,
and then we can hit a break.
What are we looking at here?
No.
Holy even Nick's Chase.
He's in the chat here.
He just made the...
Oh, I was trying to do the Vince McMahon.
You mentioned the Vince McMahon in the chair.
I was trying to do it.
Oh, shout out to believe in Nix, man.
Shout out.
The chat is the absolute.
I was going to do more of that stuff, you know.
Just trying to spice it out.
That's why we do facial reactions.
Like, obviously, there's an audio version of the squad show.
But we always encourage,
Broncos country. Go tune into the video version. We have fun here. We crack jokes.
People are loving. We have a bunch of comedians in here too, man. So it's true.
It's true. Why don't we hit our first break? And when we come back, let's keep the conversation
rolling about the offense. How else should I phrase it? Let's go to break. You know,
like so. No, just don't hit the break, man. The break's got feelings. I'm going to smash my keyboard.
I'm going to hit the break. But we're going to have some trouble with that.
But I know, we'll come back. We'll talk about the offense, you know, as they can
continue to show up and show out through the first initial days of training camp.
I think we all expect the defense, especially once the pads come on.
They will have their days as well.
Continues talking about wide receiver.
Let's talk about Evan Ingram, too, and of course, Mr. Bo Nix.
All that more when we come back, right here on your Lockdown Bronco Squad Show.

All right.
Well, come on back into your lockdown Broncos squad show.
We got the whole crew here.
AP Cody Works here,
Bedger, Nick Ferguson.
And we've got our awesome live YouTube chat.
I actually want to get the chat involved here.
That's, I think, one of the beauties of us doing the live show and, you know, having a bunch of Broncos fans and some haters after some games as well that I'd always like to pop in and say hello.
But let's, you know, we've had a few days to kind of digest.
And I want to kind of go rapid fire.
We've talked a lot about Marvin Mavitt.
Why don't we all give a name of a player that we really think has made a strong first impression through these first couple of days of training game?
It could be anyone.
By the way, I'm not going to say this guy, but I saw Jerry Croshoop booing some punts after or during practice.
one day. It was on Friday. My goodness, dude, I'm like standing like right over there by the radio
tents. And I'm watching Jeremy Brascha on just two yard line, two yard line, two yard line. I mean,
it was incredible to see. But the chat as well, you guys have had the opportunity to read and
digest and all that kind of stuff. You guys should go ahead and throw some names out there.
But let's kind of go rapid fire. We'll go Cody, Sarah, Nick, and then myself, Cody, who is a guy that
has really stood out to you so far throughout the course of training camp?
Someone we haven't talked about much yet. I'd say R.J. Harvey, man, he looks springy.
The explosive Saturday's practice, Ferg.
I don't know.
I think you were doing your radio show there.
Did you see seven on seven?
He caught that wheel route.
And it was a dime by Bow Nix.
But man, RJ, the speed, like he looks just more confident.
He looks like he knows more of this offense.
Every time I've seen him touch the ball so far here, and he did have one run.
Once again, the pads aren't on yet, folks.
That comes on this week.
But there was one play where they ran it.
He got outside to the left side and no one touched him.
I like that.
I'm so excited about that.
DeAndre in the chat even agrees with me.
He even said, R.J. Harvey, I like what I've seen from the Broncos second year running back.
Well, I wish I could be out there to see this, but I've heard that little Jordan Humphrey has stacked a few days,
which I think is kind of surprising to a lot of people because of his reputation in Broncos country as being the guy who drops a lot of passes.
But I don't know when it comes to how many receivers get kept on this roster, a lot of times we just, we determine.
hey, it's going to be five.
Sean Payton typically keeps five, but I don't know, maybe not so fast on that one because
little Jordan is probably going to be roster worthy.
And in my opinion, he is.
I think that he proved that in the playoffs, even with the drop early against Buffalo,
he redeemed himself.
He's made quite a few clutch plays over the last three years for the Broncos.
If you really go back and kind of look at him.
So I know he's had his drops.
He's not somebody that you necessarily want to be featured in the office.
but when it comes to depth and when it comes to somebody who knows this offense exceptionally well,
I think that little Jordan has to be one of the, probably the bigger surprises early to hear that he's
kind of, hey, they're throwing him the ball and some go get the ball type of situations and he's making
plays. I like hearing that stuff for a guy like him. He's got the single digit number of confidence
now. I'm going to go with the guys that impact the game the quickest, and that's up front. So I'm going to
start with Q Robinson. Obviously, when you stay in next to.
to this dude, he is definitely a physical specimen.
He's tall.
He's ripped, and it's about that first step off the line of scrimmage.
And I know, I get it.
We're not in pads or this, what we're talking about with practices where the team were
not in pads, but I can't wait to see him when we actually get into pads because that first
quick step, when you get his hip even with the tackle, either right or left tackle,
and you can move him around, that causes a lot of problems.
and he's a very fluid runner.
And usually, I don't know if you guys ever watched a deer run,
like a top speed in that spring and that bounce.
He definitely has it.
And here's the one thing about practice that drives me crazy.
It drove me crazy as a player.
It drove me crazy as a coach.
Hell, it even drives me crazy now because here's what happens, right?
Because you can't hit the quarterback.
There's no whistle.
There's nothing.
When these guys come off the edge humming,
they know they can't touch the quarter.
So we see the quarterback go into the second or maybe even third move and throw the ball down the field.
Trust me, there are a couple of plays that would have been crushing tackles and would have been sacks for sure.
Yeah.
Well said.
Yeah, I think Q, if I'm going to go with someone on defense, like he's definitely at the top of the list.
I thought Alex Singleton had a really good quote about how, you know, it's more so fine-tuning as opposed to installing
because they've brought a lot of these guys back that understand the scheme.
And obviously there's different guys that are being asked to do different things.
But that's going to play well.
But, I mean, Q Robinson, you want to talk about a guy that's going to have a massive opportunity to the course of training camp to try to earn his keep for sure.
I want to give an honorable mention to Evan Abram because I think he has been heavily involved.
And that's probably my design, as Nick kind of alluded to a little while ago.
And I'm just going to go chalk because we haven't brought this guy's name up yet.
And I think it's maybe the most exciting aspect of training camp.
That's the arrival of Jalen Lottle.
and just watching him run routes and the speed that he brings to the table for this Broncos offense.
It's something that they haven't had in quite a long time.
I mean, just watching Waddle out there.
And the nice thing about Waddle, too, is it looks like he's like fit in with the guys like naturally, right?
Like he's, you know, hooting and hollering and having a good time and just making an impact right away.
We saw that one-habil catch over the weekend.
You know, I had the opportunity he was running routes right down by the radio tent.
And so I was up close and personal watching Waddle and just the speed is as,
advertised with the guy. And so excited to see how he'll ultimately develop in this Broncos
offense. So I think Waddle is definitely at the top of my list. Well, here's the thing. And Furg,
I don't know if you saw this or not. I'm going to ask you this, but like in Saturday's practice,
Waddle ran a slant against PS2 and caught it and he was gone. He was gone. He caught that slant on
the end break. And then he, you know how some guys on the slant, they keep running, you know,
east west and then try. He caught it right as he went about east, I mean west.
gosh, she's working yourself.
Yeah, she's embarrassing.
I did geography, I did great, but you know, mentally,
I'm trying to figure out the camera.
But anyway, you know what I'm saying.
Yeah.
He caught the dang ball and he got north quick as he was going west.
So bang, catches it west, gets north quick.
And he's gone like the steps, but, but, but, like, go.
And Pat is not a slow guy.
Pat is one of the faster guys on the team.
That to me was exciting.
Like, he's got that legit speed.
Like to me, I don't know how to say that.
I mean, because it didn't work out in Denver.
But, man, he's got KJ Hamler speed, but just an elite level receiving ability.
Just like the stuff that we wish KJ would have had, Jalen has the speed and all the elite level traits that I think you're looking for in a guy like that.
Here's what I'm going to say because I had a chance to see it up close and personal from a coaching standpoint.
And when I say it was real, it was real.
And that's the speed of Tyreek Hill.
And that's kind of an extra element that Jaylon Wado brings to the team.
And you're right, Cody.
I got a chance to see that play.
And when a wide receiver runs a slant on you, I don't care who you are as a corner.
You could be Dion Sanders, Charles Woodson, Rod Wilson, I don't care who you are.
That guy has the ability to run away from you, especially if the quarterback throws it with anticipation and puts it on him,
he's going to run away from you.
You know why?
And Cody, you don't understand this.
you're in man coverage, you're playing outside leverage.
And God forbid if it happens to you in zone,
you better hope that guy inside of you,
he's taking this appropriate drop because if that hook player isn't there,
hey, that dude is running for daylight.
That's the element of the Broncos offense.
We haven't had around here.
And listen, that's not me throwing shade at anyone.
That is something that's an actual factual.
So that guy, when he's on the field, if he's not getting the ball,
he's going to be one hell of a distraction.
Shoot.
Well, I think didn't Bo Nix say that as well?
I mean, talking about that explosiveness.
So it's not like, I don't even think there's any qualifiers needed.
Like all due respect is given to players like Cortland Sutton, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, all those guys.
Jalen Waddle is a different type of player.
There's a reason why we've all been so excited about the element that he brings to this offense.
And it is coming with some seriously high stakes because now this off season, how many guys at his position are getting paid?
So he's coming into training camp, and it's this perfect marriage of all these different things happening, right?
He's going away from a rebuilding team, going to a contending team in the AFC.
He's probably going to have the best quarterback that he's ever had.
I don't know who we all caught past from in Alabama, but I think certainly Bo Nix is the best.
And so I think he's got the best quarterback that he's had, the best offensive coaching staff that he's had with due respect, again, to Mike McDaniel.
I think this is the best offense that he could be in to suit his skill set in a high volume passing attack with 32, I think was that the number for Olavvi, 35 million plus at stake here.
So the Broncos, yes, I know everybody's talking about can they afford this guy?
Can they afford that guy?
Yes, they can.
They have to make the salary cap gymnastics work down the line.
But for Jalen Waddle, it's not a matter of can the Broncos afford it.
It's how many zeros and how much higher can I make that number be?
And I can feel that he's approaching camp with that, you know, maybe not at the forefront of his mind.
Maybe he wouldn't admit it.
But I think absolutely Jalen Waddle understands very clearly what's at stake here is potential of a top five wide receiver contract ever.
Hey, hey, can you guys smell that?
Can you smell that?
What is that?
I smell beef.
I smell beef.
I smell beef.
And what Sarah's talking about is absolutely right.
If you are Jalen Waddle, you are freaking pissed off.
How can the Saints give Chris Alive a guy that had multiple concussions that type of bread, right?
But guess what?
It's going to be really interesting this year.
This is why I'm so excited to see what type of numbers Jalen Wado puts up.
That's why I'm saying.
I smell beef all over the place because Marvin Mims has something to prove.
Jalen Wado has something to prove.
And Goddorn it, Bo Nix has something to prove to the tune of 4,500 yards on the season passing.
Hey, man.
I'm a look at it right now.
I wasn't sure where you were going there in terms of the smell.
It's like, do you smell the Rock is cooking?
Sarah's holding up a candle.
I got a candle right here.
I had an air freshener right behind me.
me. I was just like, okay, we talk about you. But no, I'm with you too. And I also think there are some
really good questions in the chat as well. I mean, maybe we do a quick little rapid fire here and there.
I do want to answer Derek's question in the chat. He says, can you guys tell me why is Drew
Sanders still on this team? Look, I don't know what's going on with Drew right now. It's probably
been the most puzzling development over the last two practices. But like the first couple of days,
Drew's out there. He's working with the outside linebackers. We go out, I think it was day
three, don't see him, not even spotted, not even on the side field, day four, don't see him, not even, and nothing.
And of course, you know, Sean's at the point now he's like, I'm not, I'm not talking about injuries.
So it's like, okay, well, what's going on?
We haven't seen Caleb Loner.
We haven't seen Drew Sanders.
If Drew is hurt again, I feel so bad for him.
I really, really do because, I mean, it just seems like he's had the worst luck if it is, in fact, an injury.
But the more opportunities you miss by not being on the field, man, it's going to, it's going to be such.
a tough road for him. And he hasn't had the best luck. And he's such a damn good, talented
player too, man. I just, if it is another injury, I'm gutted for the guy. It stinks. But at this
point, you know, the same goes, you can't make the club from the tub. And maybe that the Broncos
are looking at a multitude of different guys. Look at, look at what happened to Jake Butt, right? Like
a similar circumstance. Guy couldn't say healthy. I mean, I think he's got a good job broadcasting
like college football now. He landed a good gig. Yeah, Greg Dolcich, who I know what he ended up in Miami
here with the Giants, I think played for both of those teams.
Like, you know, there's been a couple of guys just in recent memory, even, Jake Button
Dulcich in particular that, like, injuries or whatever it may have been,
prevented them from ultimately kind of landing with the Denver Broncos.
So, yeah, we'll see what happens to Drew Sanders.
Is there anything else from the live chat, Cody, that you wanted to hit on?
Well, I feel like we can talk about as the show goes on, too.
Someone says, what about, Corne Bredemus says, what about Caleb Loner?
I mean, we haven't seen him either.
Like, Mr. We saw him during mandatory minicamp on the side.
field. You know, he was working on the, on the side field, the trainers, no spot of him at all so far in camp. So, so those two guys are puzzling. And that's obviously led to some of the Taysom Hill speculation about the Broncos, maybe looking to explore adding him. Please, no, let's not go on this tangent. Ferg, I know you feel a certain. I'm all in. Maybe on the other side of the break. Maybe this debate, but I don't think it's a good move. But, but yeah, just some quick updates there for, for some of the people in the chat. Let's, let's hit a break. When we come back, we can explore those tastes.
some Hill rumors that shot fueled to.
But let's also talk about Bo Nix because I think Bo made a pretty bold state at the podium yesterday about how the ankle injuries aren't going to prevent him from playing the way that he's always played the quarterback position.

What's up?
Welcome on back in, Lockdown Bronco squad show.
Whole crew here today talking Broncos training camp.
You're funny.
you know I try you you're a funny guy man I had a fire quick side note I had a bison
ribby last night just hearing that doing that home chef free got me thinking about food
bison ribby last night was free okay all right very good very good so I love that also love
see a bo-nix healthy and energetic and out there doing this thing right because I feel like like I
was there Wednesday right was the first acclamation day which is so ridiculous to me it's like
there was two acclamation days in the training camp, I think technically started on Friday.
Like in my head, training camp technically started.
The next two days are going to be pad acclamation days.
So you're going to wear the pads, but there's not going to be the rump in and bumping, right?
Wednesday is when we're going to see that full two and a half hour fully padded practice.
Boy, I'm still.
Brick wall.
Let's go.
I'm bumped as well.
But, you know, on Wednesday, I feel like, obviously all eyes were on Bo Nix.
And I think a lot of people were checking in the scene of Jonathan Cooper was out there,
of course he was. We could kind of keep an eye on that as training camp plays out.
But with Bo guys, and this can kind of weave into the quarterback conversation as a whole with
Jason Hill, a lot of swagger, a lot of confidence.
Like you would never know that this guy had an ankle injury, right?
And I think that's my biggest takeaway.
The fact that there's no news on Bo Nix's is good news for the Denver Broncos and everyone
in Broncos country.
And I think, you know, Bo, even at the podium, right, it was about a 12-minute press conference
and, you know, I had a lot of interesting things to say.
I thought his comments about how he feels more comfortable and confident as a leader
we're really telling.
But I think that the big quote that came out from Bo yesterday is absolutely not with
response to if he's going to run less following the ankle situation.
And Bo is going to go full steam ahead and play the quarterback position the same way that
he's played the position his entire life.
Obviously, he's going to be smart about when he runs and using that to his advantage
as well as sliding too.
But great to see Bo back out there.
I don't know how you guys feel about it.
I'll toss it to you, Cody.
I love the fact that he's not going to allow this ankle surgery
to change the way that he plays the position.
Well, I would say so far in practice,
everything that we've seen, even with the pressure,
like guys getting pressure on him at times or chasing him.
You know, usually I think if you were concerned about it,
you'd see him freeze up a little bit.
He's running.
He's moving.
You know, he's stepping up in the pocket.
He's scrambling out to extend plays.
Like nothing has changed from Bow's approach,
which is good because Sean Payne said that's one of his greatest assets,
It's one of his greatest strengths as a player.
That's the Superman nature of what we see from Boe Nix is his elusiveness, his footwork.
I would say his ability to avoid sacks.
Like that right there is so valuable in today's NFL.
I mean, you look at the first two years of Bo's career, Lee sack quarterback in the NFL,
same offensive line that Russell Wilson had for the most part.
And Russ had what?
I'm pretty sure it was, what, 54 something, Sacks, 52, something along that lines.
He would use, he hit the ground a lot.
And Sean Payton even made it a point out.
after they moved on from Russell Wilson to say, like,
we believe that sacks are a quarterback stat, you know, pretty much there.
So for Bo, I love that he's, I love that he's not changing it.
Like, why?
Like, because think about this, you get this far in, you know, in your career, your journey.
Like, he's had the ankle injuries in high school.
He's had it in college as well.
He's had, he's already had, like, even after his rookie year,
people don't remember he had an offseason ankle cleanup procedure
after his rookie year in the NFL.
But it hasn't changed how he prepares.
And maybe he's cognizant of that.
But I think if you think about an injury,
Nick, you probably can attest to this as a foreign player
where times you've played hurt or you try to come back from injury.
I tore my ACL.
I try to come back, bro, I couldn't backpedal and plant and cut comfortably
without thinking about it, right?
Like, I couldn't overcome the mental hurdle.
These guys have the best assets to him to do that.
That's why I was never in the NFL.
That's why they were.
But there is that mental journey.
It doesn't seem like that's really bothering Boe, though.
Well, I think that's the best possible.
news because that was the dark cloud that was hanging over the entire situation, right?
Is I think everybody knew and understood, oh, Bo's going to get healthy at some point.
He even has the second procedure.
And then you're kind of like, oh, wow, that's uncomfortable, right?
But we, we want to see him be the same guy because of exactly what you guys are talking
about and what he does so well, which is escape pressure, which is, you know, extend plays,
create, throwing on the run, getting outside the pocket, making plays as a run.
which, I mean, that Giants win doesn't happen if Bo Nix's wings are getting clipped in terms of him as a runner.
I mean, you know, the way that we know it, at least.
It doesn't happen, right?
So I think that you have to have him be able to be himself because if a guy at any position isn't able to be themselves on the football field,
they have to adjust what?
Then they're going to be doing what a lot more than just playing the game.
They're going to be thinking a lot more instead of playing the game,
trying to be somebody that, well, they tell me I got to be this guy.
because, you know, if I run, I'm going to hurt my ankle again and I won't get paid a bunch of money.
Like, Bo Nix isn't thinking about that.
What he's thinking about is that, hey, I have to keep the best version of myself or none of that stuff is going to have.
We're not going to win games.
Like, so it's not about being reckless with the ankle.
It's about being the guy that, you know, is a franchise.
The franchise quarterback, the Broncos drafted, the player that they want to lead this team to their fourth Super Bowl and franchise history.
So that, I think, is the most encouraging thing is that all the training camp updates, the initial was, oh, shoot, yeah, bow necks his ankle looks totally fine.
And it's completely just not even discussed in the days to follow, right?
It's like, man, his mechanics look really good.
The ball is popping out of his hand.
He's throwing with the anticipation.
He's spreading the ball around to all these receivers.
He's throwing 50-yard touchdowns on the run to Pat Bryant.
That's the type of stuff.
It's like, okay, the ankle is just no longer even a consideration at this point.
You know, I'll put it to you guys this way, an easy metaphor.
Imagine yourself being a cheetah.
You were born to run.
Or even being a thoroughbred, you were born to run.
Now someone's trying to put you in the cage.
Someone's trying to put you in a stall.
It's hard.
It's hard to do that.
You're going against your innate abilities to be explosive.
So asking anyone asking Bo after what happened with his foot, hey, listen, we need you to stop running.
No, let's think about how the foot happened in the first.
place, right? It wasn't because, oh, well, he's running the ball and no, it is a freak injury
that happened. And also think about the number of sacks that ball was able to avoid or prevent
the offensive line from being a stat line for that group. He had to do what? Run the damn ball.
So you can't change who he is. And I'll say this, man, not a flex, had a chance to talk to him
after practice on Saturday.
It was back together. Saturday,
alumni were there.
So I went over and I told him, I said, dude,
take this however you wanted.
I am not your coach,
but I'll tell you this as a fan, right?
I said, you are one of the more deadliest quarterbacks
in this league when you are using your legs to extend plays.
Please, please don't let anyone put handcuffs on you
and prevents you from being that particular guy.
Because from a defensive standpoint, you know what I like?
I like a quarterback who's just going to stand in the pocket.
He's not going to run.
Right.
We know exactly where he's going to be on every single play.
But when your quarterback is mobile and he can move, that creates a lot of problems.
So when you talk about reading Y receivers progressions,
hey, you may run a slant rod with Jalen Wado.
Now Bow's got to scramble.
You know what that slant rot turns into?
It's now a go route, right?
So there's elements to this offense that we need Bo to remain who he is.
We don't need put it to you this way.
We don't need Bo to be James Gunn Superman.
No, no, no, no, no.
We need him to be Henry Cavill, right?
The man to steal.
That is the guy that we need Bo Nix to be in his third year.
I love it.
I really do love it.
And I mean, you know, he also was asked a question about like,
the contract, right? He's like, you got to go out there and prove it. And I think the mindset is
exactly where you wanted to be. And honestly, like, when that video, like, I always felt like
Beau was going to be all right after the surgery. Like he posted that video of him working out
in Alabama, which may be like, okay, like we're on a great track here. And then obviously just
seeing him in the flesh the last handful of days is more so confirmation that Bo Nix is in as
good of a position as you could possibly hope to see him in all things considered. Right. Like he
looks confident, mentally, physically. And, you know, you throw in, you. You throw in, you
the addition of Jalen Waddle too.
And, you know, just Bo being healthy, having the mobility, having the arm strength,
while helping them hopefully work more towards the middle of the field, see what happens
with Troy Franklin and Pat Bryan as well.
Like it just feels like there's another layer of versatility that is being added to this
Broncos offense, especially, we haven't even really talked about Davis Webb yet.
Like you want to talk about, and maybe I wasn't paying attention as much last year to
Davis Webb at training camp, but like very vocal, right?
Like a general out there when it comes to the offense and talking to the guys.
It really does kind of feel like it's a new evolution of this Broncos offense,
all things considered, fellas.
But I would say with Davis, too, like, you know, I think a lot of people are like,
okay, vocal, what does that look like?
I see a coach so far, at least in these practices.
And this, I think, is Davis in general.
Players say he knows how to be intense, but he never crosses the line, right?
Which I think is good.
But I'm watching him during practice.
The second or third team offensive unit, they didn't break the huddle quick enough.
It was kind of lackadaisical.
And instead of screaming, which, you know, I think a lot of young guys are like the old school approach.
Be, scream as loud as you can.
He's just like, he just said it in the most calm way possible.
He said, get back in the effing huddle.
Do it again.
Get back in the, but he said it in a calm voice.
It was like, wait a minute.
Is coach mad at me or not?
Like, I wouldn't be able to interpret that.
But he said it in a calm voice echoed it into the headset.
Once again, they got back in the huddle.
Bang.
Like, he knows how to speak to this.
these guys. And I think he's built that relationship equity with them to where he doesn't have to
rule or yell or say crazy things, I think in order to motivate them. I think generally they have
that they trust in him. And that's the vibe I've gotten so far from just talking to players,
that Davis is very much a controlled guy, which I think for him jumping into this role,
you like to see that. I think you need to be controlled because sometimes when there's chaos going
around.
If you can remain controlled amidst the chaos, that is a strength that can help you,
I think as a coach far down the line.
There's certain things, too, when you talk about, like, any form of leadership whatsoever,
like, let's take, like, I lead the, you know, the worship band at the church every Sunday.
There's certain things that are just like, hey, we don't really talk about these certain
things because you'll be expected to do them all the time, like showing up on time or
parking in the extra lot or the things that you do that you do that you do.
you do without really saying like, hey, if I'm going to be doing some sort of accountability check
with the guys that I, you know, lift weights from afar, from distance. And we're like,
hey, we're keeping accountable to lifting weights and eating right and all these sorts of things.
Like the non-negotiable is that I text the group chat. You know, the non-negotiable for Davis
Webb is that we break the huddle properly. You just do it. You don't need to be told to do it because
it's something that you just have to. It's like the baseline expectation. It's, it's,
essentially. And so I like that he's taking that sort of calm approach of just like, you don't have
to over correct stuff when it comes to the non-negotiable baselines that have to be incorporated
in the operation of how you do things. When you're expecting something to be done a certain way,
you expect it to be done that certain way 100% of the time. And you don't have to talk about it.
It's the unspoken. So when it doesn't happen right, it's like, all right, let's go back right now,
rewrite that, keep those habits growing in the right direction.
Yeah, and ultimately I'll have to see kind of what this unit kind of looks like.
And I think obviously I think the early returns have been awesome, right?
Because I think one of the general sentiments that I've heard from a ton of different media
members and even former players is like it's rare for an offense to look as good as it has
out of the gate training camp.
Like typically it's the defense that starts fast, not as with the Broncos, but like across
the NFL as a whole, at least from some of the conversations that I've had.
So that's great.
Let's hit our final break.
Not Kansas City.
Not Kansas City.
Looking a little rough out there for Mr. Brown.
What would you get in?
I can't say it.
It rhymes with city, but Kansas is something else, but we can't say it on air.
But anyways.
All right, let's hit our final break when we come back.
J.K. Dobbins made a bold prediction about his season forthcoming.
We'll talk about that and see if it's realistic.
when we come back right here on your
Locked on Broncos squad show.
Hey, man.
All right, welcome all back into the program.
Well, J.K. Dobbins, I think, is listening to Cody Rourke,
because I believe that was one of Cody Rourke's bold predictions in the offseason
is that J.K. Dobbins will be healthier than he's ever been
and have the chance to play an entire season.
And J.K. who's in a great mood, it is probably the best interview on the team,
like just like super laid back, super chill, super forthcoming, you know, came out and said,
you know, not only does he expect to play all 17 games this year, he expects to lead the NFL
in rushing. And, you know, it's interesting, right? Because like you hear that. It's kind of like
heat of the moment you start thinking like, like what if that does kind of come to fruition, right?
But fellas are I remember the conversation we had the off season. We found out the Broncos
were bringing back J.K. Dobbins, right? And I remember like our talking points and those are
the chat. It's like we like it if he can stay healthy. And ultimately like, you know,
Jonah Coleman, what has he become as a rookie, R.J. Harvey, who's looked pretty good in the early going,
but a very, very bold prediction from JK about himself. He did say something similar last year.
Obviously, that did not come to fruition, but as he described it, it was a freak injury, which it was to a certain extent.
But what do we make of this from JK Dobbins, fellas? I think obviously it's very strong.
And I don't think there's any question that when JK is healthy, he's one of the more dynamic running backs in the league.
The question is, can't he stay healthy? Look at his numbers. His numbers, his numbers, his
number showcased how damn good he is. I mean, even last year, he was averaging around five yards
of carry. The crazy thing is he was averaging 4.8 yards per carry against nine man boxes last season.
He was making, you know, chicken salad out of chicken scratch. You know, I can't say the other word here,
but I loved what we saw from him. And the thing about Dick Kay, and I'll say this, Alex Singleton
also made a great point about him because think about it. Like the moment you have an ACL injury,
man, that used to back in the day, it used to be kind of a death sentence for a,
and then Adrian Peterson
discovered stem cell research in Germany and went there.
He came back and he had a historic season.
Recovery over time has changed.
Surgical techniques have certainly changed.
He had the Achilles.
And then he had the Liss-Frank injury.
And all three of those injuries were on the left side.
So he said whoever has his, the voodoo doll,
they ran out.
Like he's all good.
And he was kind of hitting that.
But he sees that he hears everyone saying,
oh, this guy can never stay to help you.
Like, you know, and it's frustrating for JK.
You just think about it.
He plays one of the most physical.
physically involves positions in the game.
Your risk of getting injured is amplified at that position more so than it is any other
position in the league because you're running in between the big behemists on the
offensive line and the defensive line.
And you're also getting hit full speed by linebackers who are attacking downhill.
I know Sean Payton won't like that.
And even safety's hitting guys.
Ferg, you used to deliver hits like that attacking downhill.
And you have what?
Most of the time, like your maximum depth you're going to be lined up away 15 yards.
Imagine being 15 yards off.
and you know, you'd run a 4-6, 40-yard dash and you're hitting a running back.
Like, it's like a car wreck.
So for JK to have the numbers he's had, he's always came back better than ever from every injury.
The ACL came back better the Achilles came back better.
I have no doubt in my mind that JK is going to be better this upcoming season than it was last year.
The question is, can you, can you maintain it for 17 games?
He pinky promised all of us on that.
And the other thing, too, he said he prayed on it.
I love that line.
We're doing piqui promises now.
Here's what I'll say.
Don't you pinky promise people,
Furb? Come on, man.
Hell not.
What do you are?
Wait,
first of all,
no one's doing piquie promises in the hood.
I'm just saying that that was,
even though it's similar to a handshake,
but no one was doing piquie promises in the hood.
So that's where he kind of lost me.
Listen, I admire his confidence,
but those are very lofty expectations,
because what he is presenting is something that he's never done in this career.
He's never done it.
And oh, by the way, yes, lofty expectation, wants to lead the league in Russian.
So if he's able to do that, you know what also that means?
Well, RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman, they're not getting a lot of touches.
And I find it very hard to believe that you're not going to get those two guys involved.
Cody, you said it yourself.
We watched it at practice that will route with RJ Harvey showing his hands.
So because they know he can catch the ball out of the back field, he's going to be on the field.
We know they like Jonah Coleman.
He's going to be on the field.
So that means for JK to put up these numbers, he not only has to be healthy.
When he gets his rushes, when he gets his targets, man, we're talking about what,
a bevy of explosive plays.
if he's able to do it, man, I would love it.
I'll come on on the program and say, you know what?
I was wrong, but until I see it, I cannot believe it.
You picky promise on that?
Nope.
I'm not going to do it.
Not going to do it.
Not doing it.
Well, I mean, he did have the fourth most at the time of his injury last year.
He was tied for fourth most explosive runs of 10 plus yards last season.
That was through 10 games, right?
So, and it was tough sledding in that Raiders game.
So I was really through nine games that he had all those, the majority of those explosive runs.
And so I feel like, yes, he can do these things that he's talking about.
And I think the jury's out on whether or not he could play the full 17.
I love the line that he said about, you know, I prayed on it.
That's how I know that I'm going to be able to do it.
And so I think that you have to, if you're him, you're not going to approach it and say, well, you know,
I've never finished a season before.
So I doubt I'll do it this year.
You know, he's not going to come at it with that mindset or whatnot, but he's going to come at it with the mindset.
He's going to play all 17. The Broncos, we talk about this all the time.
17 and 0 until we eight, you know, Super Bowl champs until we eight.
And you got to approach it with that mindset and mentality until you ain't, right?
So I think that's what he's doing here.
And I understand that.
I think that there's a lot of like Cody was talking about earlier, those mental hurdles that you have to get over when you have gone through.
I think it's funny that he's kind of joking, you know, the voodoo dolls getting his left leg.
I mean, the cynic would be like, well, then the right leg's up next, you know, that's where people are like, okay, we're taking it too far here with the Dobbins injury history stuff is just kind of piling on this guy and acting like, well, every single part of this guy's body is made of glass.
That hasn't been, it's been the freak injuries, right?
Like he's mentioned earlier this off season, it's not the soft tissue stuff that he's struggled with.
It's the freak injury.
So I'm manifesting the healthy season along with them.
You want to see it.
You want to see it because of how good this offense was,
the most balance we've seen them under Sean Payton when Dobbins was healthy.
But say, I get what you're saying.
I don't want to look at it from a negative way.
But I look at it this way.
It's like if you're a cheating man, right, you've cheated three times.
And that fourth time you're like, you know what?
I'm not going to do it again.
I learned from the first three times, right?
And you got to choose to cheat.
Yes.
Once again, you have to show me that you can't cheat, right?
You can be in the midst of women without your woman and act right.
So right now, that's what I look at J.K. Dobbins, right?
I mean, his injuries have cheated on him, right?
It's gotten him placed on injured reserve.
Now, can you tell me finally you're not, you have kind of gone through this baptism in a sense.
And now you're a new man.
You're healthy now.
I'm not a cheater.
That's what I want to see, sir.
Ah, well, Ferg, if it's 7 o'clock on the dot and you got your drop tops cruising
to streets, man, I'm going to be a little concerned here, all right?
What's happening?
I was, we have some of the craziest analogies here on this show.
I was like, wait, where are we going?
This, but you know what?
Let's think about it, man.
His injuries had hampered him, right?
Can he do it?
We are all in support of him being able to do it.
But until we actually see it,
do we actually believe that is possible?
That's all I'm saying.
Look, Lou, shaking his head.
I'm not, I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer.
What was Martin Luther King Jr.'s quote about faith?
Hell, I don't know.
You tell me, I don't remember.
Hold on.
It was about a staircase.
Hold on.
I thought you were talking about I have a dream.
Yeah, we all have a dream.
Like, J.K. Dobb is going to reach that mountain top.
Faith is taking the first step, even when you can't see the whole staircase.
That's where we're at.
Well, you know what happens to you in the leap of faith and the scary movie when you take a step and you can't see what happens.
You know what?
You get killed by the killer.
That's what happens.
Never found myself in a scary movie, so knock on wood.
I think I can respect because like I do this sometimes in my personal life of like the power of like putting things out there in the universe right and like the power of positivity and like trying to manifest certain things and I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer when I saw say all this.
I think J.K. Dobbins is saying everything we want to hear and some, right? But like if I'm just going to look at it logically, right? Like this is like the science versus religion in football. Like history tells us the science, the data tells us that J.K. Dobbins is.
is going to try to attempt to do something that he's never done in his NFL career.
And so this is one of those situations where I would love to be wrong.
If JK Dollens plays all 17 games and is the number one rusher in the NFL,
sign me up at the front of the list to, you know, admit that I was wrong and put my clown mask on.
When are we going to have the same conversations about Christian McCaffrey?
Well, okay, there's a difference there.
That's a fair point.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on.
There's a difference, right?
And here's where a little of what JK is pinky swearing is a little flawed.
Because you mentioned Christian McCaffrey.
Guess who his head coach is?
Kyle Shenahan, what is it that they do?
They run the ball.
They use a lot of play action pass.
This offense traditionally don't, they don't do that.
Now, that can change if you're telling me that Davis Webb is going to do that.
He's going to stay committed to the run, Cody.
If you are going to tell me that today, I will buy what you're selling.
He'll do it better than what Sean was.
That's my bold prediction.
No electromagnetic fields either.
No electric substation to affect the injury, you know, the plague,
which is already hitting the 49ers in a devastating way.
Fred Warner just broke his running back teammates rib by trying to punch the football out.
And you got no hats on, bro.
What is it happening?
I saw him in Kansas City.
So I saw Kenneth Walker, like, through the football at one of his teammates for, like, making contact on a run.
Wow.
I thought that was a Cowboys.
I thought that was at Caleb Downs.
They did the same exact thing.
Kenneth Walker, too.
You want to know something?
We don't got these problems here at Broncos camp.
Hey, yeah, I'm with.
Here's another thing, too, that I'll even say about, like, that you got Patrick Mahomes
hitting the center in the back of the head and seven on seven throwing the football.
What's happening?
You got Travis Kelly.
see dropping passes what the heck's happening.
Man, you know, the Broncos are looking at all this stuff and they're saying,
I don't really care.
Like, we're good.
We ain't worried about that.
And to the point, even Sean Payton, and this will be my last thing I say today.
Sean Payton, you may mention it's like you see all these fights happen.
Fights typically do happen in training camp.
But for the most part, you never see it get crazy.
And you haven't seen it get crazy here in Denver since Sean has been here.
That's something that they really kind of emphasize.
But that's a testament to the team culture.
you go to Dallas you got guys fist fight you go to Pittsburgh you got guys fistfitting you go to Kansas City you got guys fist fighting it's just the thing is is you can have these really good programs or like a new and that's one thing that Sean said is like we can have this brand new team facility said but it's the people in the building that really matter that's what really matters these other teams you see it and it just makes me laugh I'm like man the stuff that that is happening there and it could happen in Denver don't get me wrong I'm not oblivious to the fact of possibility but I think it's a testament to where Denver is at
culture-wise.
And that's why I think this team is in a better spot
compared to some of these other teams
that have maybe all the talent in the world.
But if you don't have the right culture
across the board in certain assets
or you got one bad apple amongst the culture,
it can spoil the whole bunch.
I think that Denver doesn't have those guys here.
That was cute, bro.
Wait, wait.
Look at him preaching, bro.
He's preaching.
He's just like, cute.
Yeah, he's like, our culture is so much better
here in Denver.
And it is.
Bro, I don't sound like,
I don't sound like freaking Sid the kid from Toy Story, Timmy.
I'll sound like Timmy.
You kind of look like this from Toy Story low-key, bro.
You better watch out there, buddy.
Wow.
I can see that low-key, bro.
No, I just play it.
Go to me.
Hey, that's good.
Cody, you know there's going to be a fight at Broncos' parking.
Yeah.
Because as soon as the pads come on, tempo changes, right?
Offensive linemen start to grab.
They start to hold.
and got defensive linemen.
They don't like that to happen.
The first fight,
the first fight at Broncos training camp
ain't going to be players.
It's going to be me with some of these crazy idiots
that stay dumb stuff and don't pay attention to practice.
Hey, Anilo, I'm going to get a crunk at next practice.
I'm going to get a crumb.
Don't do that.
Don't say it on.
Don't say it off.
Let's do it.
Let's fan this flame.
Let's go.
Hey, yo, this guy.
Cody said this about you, bro.
I don't have you heard about that.
But like Cody was talking to me and he said this and that.
What's wrong with this guy?
I'm afraid to stand out business, man,
but I'm trying to keep my nice guy image intact.
No, I'm playing.
All right.
Anyone else got anything they want to get off their chest?
We just got our first look at Tassum Hill in a Broncos uniform right here.
Oh, geez, please, no.
Wait, wait, that's John Hillway.
Cody, I don't know why you were so against.
right i think i think this for the first time that cody and benjamin albright have been in agreement
and that with itself is bizarre as hell i mean not really in the grand scheme of things
i bet and i don't see i don't know a lot of things but in this one i i just don't see the value
in bringing in tason hill right now the direction that this team is going right they're younger they're
they got young guys that they drafted they want to develop you know if there's an injury to one of these
guy, sure, keep Tayson on speed dial.
But bringing him in now, and the one thing I don't want to see, I don't want to see
Bonnix coming off the field.
You don't have to, Cody?
This is what I was trying to tell Ben.
You know why they were doing that?
One, they didn't know exactly what to do with Tazam Hill in the first place.
We all know that Drew Breeze is vertically challenged and he's not that athletic.
So if you want to, no, he's not, he's not that athletic, Cody.
John Payton the other day just said he disagreed.
Drew used to be a guy who could dunk a ball.
You heard what you see, see how you phrase that.
Used to.
That is past.
Him Hill.
Used to be very good.
Not sure he's the same guy.
He still is because here's what you're doing.
You're not bringing him in to play quarterback.
You're bringing him in because you have seven damn tight ends on your roster.
One was said to be a Joker.
Maybe he becomes that player this year.
But all I know.
is that when you go 12 personnel with athletic guys,
it changes the dynamic of what you want to do offensively.
That's all I'm saying.
And tell me right now,
even though with his age and his injuries,
tell me a better tie-in here that from a versatility and plate impact standpoint
that the Broncos have on their roster.
Who?
Who?
Evan Ingram.
Oh, get that hell up.
Oh, hey, look, here's it.
Cody, if that was the case, they would have used him last year, right?
Did we see them use him?
Hell no.
Davis, here's the thing.
Davis Webb ain't going to be bringing in Taysom Field.
But here's the thing as well.
Taysom had what?
Last year, 13 games played, he had, I think, 11 catches for, like, 91-something yards.
Like, in 13 games, he didn't have it.
He averaged 2.2 yards per carry as well on the ground last season.
Kellyn Moore doesn't know how to use him.
They're a mid-s, bro.
Wait, just think about it.
had them had them balling and on the comeback path.
You're talking about the Saints team.
And their defense was drastically better last season.
The Saints weren't as bad as people were advertising last year.
Cody, you're talking about the Saints team that gave a crap ton of money to a guy that has issues with concussions.
I get it, but that has nothing to do with taste of him.
That has something to do with the-
The comment just sent me, bro.
Which one?
Colin Moore
Big Tee
Can't use him right
Dude that's the best comment I've seen in a while
Pop that up on the screen man
That's
Put it up on the screen
I didn't even really
Big T
I'm just telling you man
If you are trying to find more creative ways
Hey Bo Nix better
You want more value
And it will not hurt the young guys
It will not
It would only help them because he's been in the system.
He can help them out.
Hey, put him on the practice squad.
Put him on the practice squad.
You could call him up for three free games.
I don't see that.
I don't think there's harm in the three.
Yeah.
I think he's going to retire.
I don't think he's going to play.
I think he's going to retire.
Well, we'll see.
Chick-fil-A bed there, Ferg.
Chick-fil-A.
Chick-fil-A, he's on at least the practice squad at the beginning of the
year.
That would be my...
You know what else?
Sean Payton did say,
you know, we'll explore adding him.
I'm exploring adding a million dollars to my bank
account right now.
You know?
Say, like, that'd be
nice, dude.
I'm in on that.
All right, well,
we'll see what happens between now and the next squad
show.
You know, the Pazel come on.
We'll have some fun with that.
We'll see if the offense keeps up the pace they were on in the first week.
We'll see if the defense kind of lays the hammer down here.
a little bit and we'll keep you guys updated with all of your news and notes in the
world of Denver Broncos football here on the squad show and Cody and Sarah gotcha
on the standard locked on Broncos daily show so we love to see it oh that's going to do it for us
