I'm a deal of Piro, and the road to training camp is in its final stretch.
Let's go, baby.
Cody, Rourke of mile high, sports Broncos training camp is here,
and there's several key storylines that you've got to pay attention to.
Sarah, Beninger, predominantly orange.
Enough of the lists, enough of the projections.
I'm here for actual football.
I'm Nick Ferguson, and I'm ready for some damn football.
Let's go.
We get the helmet out for Furry.
Let's break it all down on.
Today's Locked-on Broncos Squat show. Let's get into it, fellas.

Wow, I wish I had a helmet.
Look at these guys.
Man, Nick's helmet is so much cooler than mine, although you got the old school like,
You got like a kicker.
We used to give that to the kicker back in the day.
And we'd be like, man, you got the kicker helmet on.
But you know, hey, you got some nice little, nice little signal.
Who's signatures you got on that bad boy?
I'll have to look it over here.
I don't know that Nick's name is not on here somewhere.
Well, I'll have to check it out because I know I've had some stuff signed by Nick in the past.
But I'll take a look at it.
But I'm really committed to the bit here because I'm going to have a hard time getting this off.
So, I mean.
Well, for our audio listeners, I always encourage you guys to come over to YouTube and check it out.
But we've got Nick Ferguson and Sarah Bedinger wearing football helmets on the street right now.
This is awesome.
Nick, you look like you're ready to roll.
Yeah, man, I am ready to go.
Cody knows how this is for me.
When you smell that fresh cut grass, man, I mean, you are dialed up, ready to go.
And this is expected to be arguably a great training camp for the Denver Bronwyn.
for so many different reasons.
A lot of training camp battles.
So let's go, man.
Let's get after it.
Man, I'm telling you, you don't need to give me a blue chew to get excited for football season,
man.
We're locked and loaded here, ready to go, man.
So let's bring it.
Here's the thing that I'm the most excited about, right?
It's not necessarily the who won the day.
I could care less about that, though our audience does care.
And we'll obviously highlight that for our audience.
My dog's very excited apparently about football season,
the squeaking toy in the background.
But I'd say one of the bigger things is now you start to see like what
competitions start to evolve and take place.
I'm excited about it.
Yeah, no, I'm with you.
And we'll kind of frame today's show as like the biggest storylines going in
and training camp.
And we'll end the show.
Like this is one that I was thinking of as we were putting the show together, fellas.
I was like, who has the most to gain and who has the most to lose on the Denver
Rocco's roster throughout the course of training camp?
So we'll have some fun with that, man.
Very good.
But obviously, rookies reporting this week too.
So it's technically here, right?
But it's kind of like spring training in baseball where like the pitchers and catchers report like I think it's like 10 days before like the position players do.
So we're right up against it here, folks.
I'm excited for it.
So Mike in the chat says Rooks reported today.
They didn't report today.
They're going to report tomorrow though, Mike.
And so tomorrow's going to be very, very exciting to see.
I mean, we're not going to get updates.
Like here's the thing.
Media is not going to be allowed at that.
This is, I think, more of getting the rookies where they need to be.
So when training camp and the vets come.
everything is smooth sailing. There's not any lollygagging or looking out of program, so to speak.
So they're going to get all that out of them this week. I'm stoked.
It's like a freshman orientation in high school.
That's exactly what this is like. Do you guys remember your first time doing that or even like your first time going in a middle school?
They did the same exact thing. You're like, you know what? Why do I got to come to this thing early?
When it comes to football, I'm there early. I'm excited. I'll be the first in the building. I'll be the last to leave.
So I'm going to, my goal this year is to beat Sean Payton is to not beat Sean Payton out of the building.
He's going to be the, you know, the first to leave.
I'm going to be the last.
So there's our goal.
You're going to have to lock up.
Here's what interesting for some of those young players coming in.
This is going to be the first and only time where they're going to be perceived as being top priority.
Because once the veterans come in, I mean, they're going to move you to the back of the bus.
And it's going to be business as usual.
Get back to the line.
You know, you don't want to be the rookies going.
going first in the line and then the vets are just clowning you there.
But I mean, I don't think you necessarily got to worry about that with this group of guys.
Denver's got great leadership inside the locker room.
And I think, too, the vets know how to do things.
They're going to show the young guys the ropes.
And I think hopefully you can see that translate when they start to get into the competitive periods.
Now, hopefully you can start see that confidence translate over a little bit.
And look, I think for Broncos fans, the first week of training camp, look, we're excited about it.
But it's not going to be the most exciting until the pads come on, right?
And even when the pads come on, there's this little acclimation.
period where they'll have pads on, but yet they still can't touch each other until they get a
couple of acclamation days in. So we're excited that football is going to be here, but we're still
in underwear Olympics for the first, I think, three or four days. So we'll see how things transpired.
Wait, Cody, you know what that's like? That's like being married and your wife is wearing a
chastity belt. I mean, come on, man. Come on. We can't do that. Every year. Every year.
You know, you could thank the CBA for that, for you could thank you for that because I guarantee you what was it under Mike.
When you played, they didn't have this in place, did they?
Day one was Pat's.
Yeah, really interesting story really quickly.
When I played for the New York Jets, that's when Mike Westoff came on my second year in the lead.
And that guy was on a whole different level.
At the first drill out of stretch, we're talking 8.30 in the morning, you just ate breakfast, you're just waking up, you're stretching.
and the first drill was live kickoff.
How about that?
And you actually had to go down and you actually tackled and hit people on that.
You can't do that in today's,
man.
It's crazy how far we've come.
But let me ask you as a former player, Nick.
Like back then, I felt like that stuff had you guys more ready on Sundays, right?
More physically prepared because you're actually translating those physical reps into practice.
The rules have changed so much today.
Do you feel like it gives players an advantage?
or do you think it's still a little bit of a disadvantage for players?
Because, and I understand it's your teammates,
but because it's not as physically demanding as it used to be.
I think it's both a pro and the con.
I mean, the pro you can look at it and say,
well, the guys are a little more healthier,
but for me, from our standpoint,
it was building up that callous,
because throughout the season,
you're going to get banged up.
And the idea was that you can't say,
well, let me get back into my off-season mode
and let my injuries heal.
No, if you got a soft tissue injury, you're playing 17, 18 weeks with a soft tissue injury,
and you better learn how to play through it.
And oh, by the way, playing for Bill Parcells, we had a bubble, but guess what?
We never stepped foot into it because he always felt as though if you play games in the cold weather,
you have to practice in the cold weather.
So things are so different.
They're changed.
And the physicality of the game is a little different.
And I feel that the Broncos not having a joint practice.
I believe it's going to set them back just a little
because you wanted that extra competition early
knowing that Bo Nix may not play a line this preseason.
That's also a big question.
I was going to say, let's throw that out there.
Do we think Bo like plays at all in the preseason?
I think you'll get at least a few snaps,
but like, I mean, we're thinking like a drive or two?
Like, talk about the 59th best player in the NFL, fellas.
Who games?
Two games, I think, in the preseason.
season, we'll see both play. I think we'll see the first two, the one against Atlanta,
the one against, I believe, is it Green Bay? Yeah, Green Bay week two. And then Minnesota's to close
things out week three in Denver. I think we'll see bowl play in two games, the first two.
The first two. What say you, Sayer? Yeah, I think that sounds right. I think it sounds right because
you want him to get out there and get those live reps. I mean, it's not like he's coming off a torn ACL.
It's not like he's coming off of, you know, I mean, like total reconstructive surgery that you're kind of worried like, you know, hey, when those bullets start flying, they better matter.
Otherwise, we just wasted, you know, in a preseason game, essentially, obviously a fractured ankle is nothing to, you know, scoff at multiple procedures.
This offseason, nothing to scoff at.
But the videos that I've seen of Bo Nix floating around out there that he's posting, he looks pretty darn good.
He looks like he's moving around really well.
He looks like he's in really good shape.
He looks like he's cut a lot of weight.
I mean, obviously in the summertime,
you're doing a lot more probably cardio stuff,
getting ready for the season.
He looks like he's,
he looks like he's dropped some body fat.
So I can tell that Bow's been out there,
getting his cardio in,
doing a lot of stuff.
Not that he was fat or anything before,
but you can just tell he looks cut.
And I think that he's obviously working hard.
So getting him out there on the field,
seeing those live bullets fly,
just reminding him that he can be himself
because ultimately, as Cody and I talked about
on our most recent episode that we recorded for lockdown broncos,
I mean, that first stretch of the season,
you're hitting the ground running.
I mean, Monday night football against Kansas City,
you don't want Bo Nicks coming into that game with any rust whatsoever.
No, you don't want him coming in the game with any rust,
but he's definitely coming off injury.
So I'm thinking he plays in the first two precincts the game,
but it's not going to be a lot of plays for him.
I'm thinking a lot of handoffs so they can show that he still has his mobility, maybe throw one pass.
But we're not going to see a lot of Bo Nix and the preseason.
And I think that's probably going to be the best thing for him because as teams start to prepare for the Broncos,
there's going to be this big question mark.
What is it going to look like under Davis Webb?
Do we have enough film of Bow Nix in this Davis Webb offense?
And the answer to that question is no.
And that's going to give the Broncos a little slight advantage.
going into the first couple of weeks of the season.
And most of the work by Bo, that's going to be done in training camp.
It's going to be done once the season starts.
And it's going to be done when we are not around from a media standpoint
because they want to make sure that we don't see anything that we can toss out there
as a narrative to say that Bo is somehow hampered or slow because, one,
he doesn't have full grasp of the offense or two,
there's still something lingering with his foot.
Yeah, I would just echo everything that you guys said about Bo in the preseason.
I think it really just, it kind of trickles back down to training camp, right, which is kind of like our main theme today.
And obviously, you know, just how important the quarterback position is.
And, you know, God forbid if Bo Nix does get seriously hurt, like Bronco season kind of takes a 180, right?
So I think that's the expectation at least from my perspective is we'll see him a bit in the preseason, probably not a lot.
But I think to me, the bigger question is like, how much do we see him in training camp?
And I think you all expect to get a pretty healthy dose of Bo Nix.
And I think, Nick, you're spot on too that maybe they'll try to hide some of the work with Bo off to the side or, you know, after the cameras and the media have gone as well and after hours and all that kind of stuff.
Yeah, walkthroughs like that to me is, I hate to say it's the biggest storyline because it isn't, but it also is because if Bo isn't out there for some reason, that's going to turn into a whole media circus down there.
It shouldn't.
It shouldn't. It shouldn't.
I've already told fans to prepare themselves for the possibility that there may be.
be a day where Bo's just limited, right? He only does position and indie drills like, but that's not
like, here's the thing. He's going to be expected to be full goal day one. Now, let's say five
practices downline, every five, every fifth practice that the Broncos have in training camp,
Bo just does QB drill seven on seven, but no team drills that day. That might be built in. And I
think even Sean Payton himself looked at it, we may see that with Cortland, you know, getting these guys
some vest days up. But when Sean has talked about any of the guys that have been coming off of a pretty
significant injury. And Bose is pretty significant. He does in training camp tend to pick certain
days where, hey, you're not going to do as much, but we have not experienced this yet.
In Denver with the quarterback, the starting quarterback, Deshaun's philosophy with that remain the same.
I think we'll see some days where Bo gets a little bit of a lighter workload during some camp
practices, but it's not going to be like three or four days in a row. I think it's going to be five
practices, a full go, one practice where you pull off a little bit, so on and so forth.
Bow's also not going to want to come off the field.
But then I think we are going to see quite a bit in the preseason.
I think we're going to see maybe two series in that first game.
I think we see a full entire first half in that second game.
We're kind of late into that second quarter.
And then I think they kind of pull them out essentially for that third game,
don't even use them.
But then again, they could use them because it depends on how they do.
Last year, Sean Payton did not like how they looked in, you know,
this third and final preseason game.
So they played a little bit of a few extra snaps there.
and I just think not much.
There's going to be some things are different with this offense,
but everything from it fundamentally is the same as last year.
You might have some new tags terminology-wise.
Davis might call things a certain way.
They might be a little more condensed.
But it's not like Bow is going to have to go in and learn an entirely new offense,
which I also think is a benefit of him being full go,
is that, hey, it's not a new system.
It's the one you already know.
It just might have a couple of tweaks here and there.
Well, they also have a pretty nice fail safe,
or I guess reason or excuse or whatever you want to call it
for pulling him off the field every fifth day
or whatever it ends up being or limiting him.
We want to see.
Yeah, it's the Sam Ellinger versus Jared Stidham competition.
That's supposedly one of the bigger storylines, right?
I mean, because if Jared loses the backup job,
does he get put on the roster for the season?
Or is he traded or is he let go?
I mean, because I don't know.
I mean, he's too high.
price probably to be a third quarterback when you have so many roster spots that you need to
allocate to other position groups right now with too much talent. I mean, that's a great problem to
have, but a problem nonetheless, because forces you to do roster gymnastics. And then ultimately,
you have to make decisions on guys, which I think is one of the biggest things that I'm watching
for throughout this whole training camp is how the Broncos approach the long term while
maximizing value of everyone that they have in the short term. And that includes the
potential of trading guys away like Jared Stidham or names that I've thrown out there.
And I kind of just did like a fun exercise on predominantly orange recently predicting the 53
man roster with a couple of trades just like forcing myself to, hey, if some trades were
to happen.
But I put Troy Franklin trade and Riley Moss trade on there.
Just thinking in terms of the team has players who could take those roles.
We already know Troy Franklin's position, the third wide receiver on the team.
Pat Bryant, we've talked about that.
Pat was out snapping him in the second half of last season.
The team wants to get Marvin Mims more involved.
That puts Troy Franklin in a really compromising position.
Riley Moss, he's in a position right now where a first round pick is potentially coming for his job.
So do the Broncos open up that competition?
And if there's any inkling that Jadae Barron is going to win that competition and Riley's going to get benched,
that diminishes his value in every way possible in a contract year.
and including his trade value.
So do you send him off before the roster cuts all happen?
So I think those are things that I'm really looking for is like the combination of short-term
vision for the roster, knowing you're in a Super Bowl window,
but long-term vision for the roster,
also understanding that you have to build this thing from now on.
Yeah, I think you're spot on.
And it's honestly an excellent bridge.
Let's go ahead and hit our first break.
When we come back, let's dive into some of these positional battles and just kind of
the overall biggest storylines for the Denver Broncos heading into this training camp.
We'll talk about the vets.
We'll talk about some guys on the bubble and, of course, the rookies.
All that more when we come back right here on your locked on Broncos squad show.
Today's episode of your lockdown Broncos squad show is brought to you by our friends over at game time.
There are more live events than ever worth seeing right now, games, concerts, comedy shows, and festivals.

Guys, I'm an active game time user.
I saw Billy Joel a couple of summers ago with my parents at Coors Field.
It was kind of like a last minute thing.
I think we decided like the day of the show or maybe the day before the show.
I opened up my game time. I found great tickets at a great price, got those things,
and had an awesome time at the show with my mom and dad. I've also used game time for Rocky's games.
We've got Broncos season, of course, coming up. So if you're going to preseason, regular season,
whatever it might be for sporting events, concerts, comedy shows, game time is your one place to go for all of your ticketing needs.

those on the YouTube chat.
Keep those comments coming.
You guys are the absolute best.
And I'll throw out to the chat, too, like,
let us know your thoughts.
What do you think is the biggest storylines for the Denver Broncos
throughout the course of training camp?
I'll throw out a few just off the rip here, fellas, and feel free to run with one.
Or if there's one that maybe I don't mention, feel free to bring that one up as well.
I think, Sarah, you kind of hinted at cornerback, right?
And looking at Riley Moss and Shaday Barron and J. Kwmick-McMillan, what that's going to entail.
I think the running back room is fascinating.
I think we understand what J.K. Dobbins is when he's healthy.
But you've got Jonah Coleman, a rookie behind him, and R.J. Harvey in year two.
I think wide receiver is very interesting because it's not only the introduction of J.
and Waddle, but it's also like big year for Troy Franklin, big year for Marvin Mims,
year two for Pat Bryant. Those are the three position groups, at least in my mind,
that come to mine right away when it comes to biggest storylines for the Broncos entering
in the training camp, fellows. Yeah, it's going to be great to see what ultimately they
decide because we know, like we talked about in the first segment with the rookies,
you know, they're going to the back of the line after they get the kind of, you know,
star treatment here when they report on Wednesday, they're going to be going to the back of the
line. The first step chart that gets released, they are going to be buried behind the, you know,
most obscure player on the roster. And so it's going to create some nice competition. You work your
way up. Everybody literally earns their stripes on this team, right? We've seen that in the past.
So they don't even put the logos on the helmet. It's just your name and then you go earn your
spot on the team. And I think that the competitions out of the ones that you're mentioning that really
get me sort of, I don't know, intrigued leading up to camp.
I think it starts at wide receiver because ultimately,
I almost feel like the pecking order at running back is,
it's not set in stone by any means.
Nothing is ever heading into training camp.
We know this.
But I think at wide receiver, you have some interesting drama there
because Marvin Mims has been pretty open about his contract situation this off season.
His role bears monitoring.
Then you, of course, have what we talked about,
Pat Bryant versus Troy Franklin, who's going to be sort of that third wide receiver on this
depth chart. And maybe does Mims even come into that, you know, conversation at some point?
But I think with what we saw last season, especially down the stretch, Pat Bryant out snapping
Marvin Mims, getting, you know, intentional targets at the beginning of the playoff game against
Buffalo before he got hurt. That really indicates to me that Troy is, I wouldn't say on the bubble,
because those are guys that you may cut potentially.
But I think his role is very much in question,
even after sort of a breakout year two.
I would agree.
I think wide receiver, man, like,
it's going to be fascinating.
Like, to me,
it really is like the way that I set it up.
It's less as for some reason.
Siri was being picked up there as I was talking.
But I think for me,
it's less about Jaylen Waddle just because I think,
like there's going to be some growing pains, I would imagine, right?
Like, it's going to take some time for him to find his rhythm and a flow in this
offense.
really like what's behind jalen like is it going to be troy like the first half of troy's season
compared to the second half is like two sides of a coin like it was heads and tails i think pat
brian if he could say healthy he's a guy that is going to make a tremendous impact and it feels
like marvin mims kind of finds himself in this broncos purgatory of like am i going to have a
future here or am i going to go somewhere else you know be traded or signed somewhere else whatever
it might be so that to me again it's less about jelan wattle because i think he's a known commodity
and it's like this is year three for troy franklin if troy franklin has you know a a underwhelming
what does that mean for his future as well, fellows?
See, for me, I mean, while the wide receivers are great to talk about
and there's so many positional battles coming in training camp,
I'm really intrigued by one position that, you know,
we don't really know too much about and hasn't really been productive.
I know you think I'm talking about running backs,
but no, I'm talking about the tight end room.
They have a lot of those guys.
And which one of those guys are actually going to step up to the plate
and be sort of a two-way type of player?
because Evan Ingram, he is right now, I think we all can agree that he is just a one-trick pony.
It's like if you want to pass catching tight-in, you want to flex him out, you want to do some creative things with him, he is your guy.
When it comes to blocking, not so much.
Adam Trotman is their bona fide blocking tight-in, and sometimes he has his struggle.
So which of these tight-ins finally in the Broncos training camp is going to emerge as the two-way guy, a guy who can both block.
and he is a past catching threat.
So I'll let you guys get a shot and tell me who do you think out of these guys,
you got Lucas Crowe, you got Nate Atkins, Adam Trotman.
I mentioned Evan Ingram.
You got Justice Jolly.
You have Bentley, right?
And you have Cato Loner.
Which of these guys, or maybe the street one?
Tell me which of these guys you think is going to emerge as that two-way guy for the Denver Broncos.
Well, I don't think it's going to be a two-way guy.
I think it's archetypes.
I think they're very much looking at who's the why, who's a Y, who's an F?
You're Y's, you're starting Y's.
You're going to be Adam Troutman.
Your starting F's going to be Evan Ingram, behind Evan.
Your other F is going to be Justin Jolie and your other Y.
I think that's where the competition is really going to take place.
I've got it as being Dallin Bentley, but it's going to be Dallon versus Nate Adkins.
And Nate has, I'd say, the most versatility out of all those guys to do both of those roles,
probably better than anybody else.
Lucas Crowe was kind of that F-type,
but I just don't think that's going to fit in for him.
And then you go into the conversation of Caleb Loner.
I don't know yet if Caleb Loner is going to just come out and stand out.
Keep in mind, even though Sean Payton said,
hey, been really impressed with this guy's growth this off season,
it's not like because he was doing stuff in practice.
It was just, hey, being in the meeting rooms, being in the building,
they were really impressed with what they saw from him.
He didn't even practice during OTAs and mandatory minicamp because he had an offseason procedure.
So we are going to see him practice here at the beginning of trainee camp.
I just think it's Jolie and it's Bentley as those two guys behind Ingram and Troutman.
But here's the thing.
The Broncos cannot just pigeonhole themselves at this position by saying,
all right,
Adam Trotman is going to play 650 snaps,
but we're only going to target him 23 times in the past game.
That can't happen.
Adam is not a world beater.
And Sarah and I've talked about this in our previews.
I've also wrote this up at Mile High Sports.
Adam Trotman, I think, is a very underrated pass catcher.
He's not going to be a world beater when you think about some of the other premier
or elite tight ends in the league.
I mean, we're close to those guys.
But I think if you actually featured him in the passing game a little bit,
five to six yards, Adam Trotman could be efficient, but they don't use him that way.
Evan Ingram, you absolutely need to figure out how to use more.
And when he's on the field, you also need to run the ball.
I know, I know people are going to say, well, he's not the best blocker.
I don't give a damn.
I don't give a damn.
And neither does Evan.
Evan's going to try to block his tail off.
He's going to try to hit the right angle necessary to get leverage on a block.
You don't need him to be a dominant blocker.
You brought him into be a weapon in the past game.
So freaking use him.
That's what I think too.
That's where I'm at with it is, hey, like, let's stop with all the talking and the posting of the Heath Ledger stuff and actually start seeing that on the field.
Right.
When you talk about using him, the best way that Evan Ingram was used all of last season was
in that preseason game against Arizona.
And it was that one play that we didn't really see the Broncos ever utilize again
throughout the season where he's kind of running across the middle of the field at full
speed and you hit him in stride and he can turn up field and make a play after the catch.
So I think that the screen game for the Broncos was bad last year.
The short passing game was telegraphed in too many different ways.
They're getting out to the line of scrimmage late.
They're trying to force feed involvement to Evan Ingram, but not in the way that you should be.
So I think it was disappointing.
But what you said is true, Cody, they need to figure out ways to get him involved and do what he's good at, right?
And so I'm excited to see that actually happen this year with Davis Webb calling the plays.
Now, what does that even really mean for the future?
Does it mean that Evan is setting the table and you're kind of getting a proof of concept from him this year to pave the way for Justin Jolie next year?
or does Justin come out at training camp and does he match Evan, you know, snap for snap,
essentially in terms of what he can do because he also can run those routes.
He also can win one on one.
He also can win after the catch, downfield, at the catch point.
He can make the contested catches.
He can do all those things.
So I think he's one of those guys that I'm fascinated by as well.
And I was reading Mike Cliss's training camp preview today, guys, of the seventh round picks.
And he talked about how Devon Bailey kind of.
made a surprise impact his rookie season in 2024.
And he saw Dallin Bentley being the same guy or similar this coming season.
So that competition, that's going to be really fun to watch because the Broncos have no reason not to play somebody rookie or not if they're out there dominating at training camp.
Sarah, you know what's scary.
And if I'm any of these types of players, Caleb Loner being won in this many other players,
that I know this is going to sound crazy.
you're scared to perform.
And the reason I say that because you just brought up the name of a guy who was the training
camp darling, everyone was talking about him.
And then he got traded, right?
He's like, you want to go out there and you want to perform.
But if you go out there and you perform too well, the team may say, well, our room is crowded.
So we may look to move someone and who's performing well in training camp.
We want to move that guy.
So if I'm in training camp, and I know once again, it's one of the more bizarre things,
to even say or even fathom that because of things that have happened in the past
where the Broncos have moved on from guys,
do you want to kind of temper how well you perform in practice?
I think it depends on if you're a position room that's crowded,
like that you like if you're a fringe roster guy, right?
Like if you're roster status, I mean,
because last year, Velae's roster status was kind of in question because of the knee injury.
I mean, I think people are forgetting.
He missed a lot of training camp last year with the.
knee injury came back. He missed, I think the first preseason game, if I'm not mistaken.
He did play. I don't think he played in the second. I can't remember, but there were some buzz
around Velae. The Broncos did the same exact thing with Albert Okwebunom, right? They showcased the
heck out of him in the preseason. Now, they initially put him on waivers, but then they said,
you know what? Actually, we're going to work out a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. And that's
exactly what they did. So it's not necessarily like it's your premier guys, you're your premium guys
that you know are evident locks.
It's kind of guys who are fringe roster guys, I would say,
is that probably you're the most ideal trade candidates.
Now, is there anyone right there at the tight end position?
No, I do not think so.
I don't think anyone in this category at the tight end position is going to be.
And I think more so they'll just flat out release certain guys that just aren't measuring up.
I don't think they're going to get trade value from anybody in that tight end room right now.
But I do think it's important for those guys to put their best foot forward, you know,
when it comes to going out there every day at practice, every preseason game, like,
because what do we, what do we always talk about?
Like, you're auditioning for all 31 other teams.
Being on this 90-man roster for the Denver Broncos inherently is an audition for everybody
else because there's so few roster spots available just regardless of what position
you're playing.
So it's like, well, if you're an undrafted free agent who signed with this team at wide
receiver. Your agent knows.
Like, you look at this team and you're like, hey, there ain't no way you're making that
team, but you sign on anyway. Why? Because you just, you never know what's going to happen.
And you never know who else is watching. And guess what? Because of the success that the Broncos
have had, every other team is like, they've got, I'm sure they've got film of teams and players that
they're like, hey, we're going to watch through these guys first because we have high waiver
priority or whatever. I bet the Broncos are near the top three,
among the tape that these scouts are watching after every preseason game.
And I think that's one of the reasons why Sean doesn't want to have joint practices is like,
no, we're not given the Packers or whoever else an opportunity to poach from our roster.
We're going to hide as much as we possibly can.
And so I think that there's an element of that, just the competitive edge that you can get any way that you can get it
to try and sneak some of these guys onto the practice squad because we know it's 53,
on the roster, but how many of the 16 that make the practice squad ultimately end up getting
called up at some point through the season?
You got something to share, Cody, on that way?
I was going to say, I think in this episode, this is totally just off the rip.
We should play Peyton bingo for training camp.
And you guys, here's the thing.
I've got some things written down.
We'll see if you guys get it right.
But phrases that we think Sean might bring up specifically during training camp, I think
are going to be very, very interesting.
So okay, let's let's hit a break.
When we come back, we'll let you set that up for us from also talk about
back and all the position groups.
Let's talk corner.
Let's talk running back and anything else that comes to mind.
And let us know your thoughts of the conference as well.
Who has the most to gain and who has the most to lose?
We'll round out the show with that one.
All that more when we come back, right here on your Lockdown Broncos Squatcho.
Support for today's episode of your Lockdown Broncos Squatcho comes from our friends over at Warby Parker.

Rest and peace, my sunglasses.
I was furious.
I see Cody's got his on.
I got mine from there, bro.
Brother, I got mine from Lori Parker.
Just use the promo code, dude.
Come on now.
Well, that's what I'm going to do.
I just, I'm like a little, I'm so bum, bro.
Like I was like literally yesterday or no two days ago man
I'm like I'm in the ocean with my girl and you know
That's why you don't wear glasses in the ocean man
No when the salt water gets in your eye
And I was good it was like at the end because we went twice to the beach
And the first day I was fine second thing just
And like I literally felt them underwater like drift out of my hand
Who wears sunglasses in the water?
Yeah, bro
Man
You know to go goggles like this probably
I don't know I'm on 12
I mean
But you lost your glasses, though.
It's true.
So you sort of like 12.
I know.
Yeah.
You got me there.
You got me there.
No, I know.
I'm just, I'm, oh, you know, I'm pissed of myself.
Well, because like you said, I did it the first time and I was fine the first day.
And I just caught the way of the wrong way.
And away we go.
But that's what it's, it's literally perfect time for the ad read, though.
Like our friends over at Warby Park are going to take care of us.
No, they will.
They will.
Sarah got a pair.
I got a pair.
You know, we're rocking and rolling, man.
It's incredible.
See, yeah.
I got the description.
You were like, you were like Icarus.
You flew too close to the sun.
I did, bro.
I was going out there deep to.
I was going to say,
it's like flagging me down.
Like, how tall are the waves out there, my man?
Because I know you were sitting here.
You probably punching the air.
You know, we have fun though.
I grew up out there.
So it's like, you know, the Pacific Ocean, you know,
it's been a while since I've been back.
You got to be careful from the rip currents, though, man.
I was, I was on the beach on the Jersey Shore.
And that was the number one thing that they talked about the rip currents there.
I mean, you'd be surprised how many people,
they get caught.
the rip they try swimming
up toward the shore you can't do that you got to swim sideways
yeah yeah crazy hopefully that that saves somebody's life on here on this podcast
if there was no doubt and hopefully get yourself a nice pair of shades and the love
you guys are getting me so excited for shark week now i mean shark week starts in sunday
you guys are getting me just just talking about the pacific ocean you talk about the you know
the coast up there where i mean this is this is right in my wheelhouse this this is the one
reason that I enjoy summer.
Hot take.
Summer's the worst of all the four seasons.
And Shark Week is one of the redeeming qualities.
Strong disagree.
See, I don't go swimming like that because sharks love dark meat.
You know, I hear sharks are equal opportunity offenders, my friend.
Well, well, think about it.
See, when I said dark meat, you guys thought one thing, but I was meaning something else.
Because the sharks, they like to eat seals.
And seals are.
How do you know it feels dark meat?
Well, I mean, dark inflection, so that's dark meat to me.
You know, I don't think you're going to worry about Great White's too much really outside of like Southern California.
I know on each coach, Great Whites are everywhere.
I'm so stoked.
Like, I read about that.
Here's the thing.
I went to Italy, right?
Went to the Mothi coach last year on my honeymoon.
And the number one thing I always looked for because the water, it was 80 degrees.
The water was warmed it.
And I loved it.
But I'm talking to like our boat to them like, you guys get any sharks here?
And they're like, eh, not really.
No, any great white sharks.
But now it's like now they start to see sea lions are now starting to come to there.
So now it's like, if there's sea lions are now coming here.
Well, you know what that means?
That means the great white sharks aren't too far behind.
Lo and behold, just two weeks ago, they filmed a great white shark off the coast of Italy.
And this is the first time that was actually caught on camera, I think, in a long time.
So there we go.
See, I told you.
Dark meat, right?
Dark meat, you see Seals and get your head.
Get out of the water.
Got out of water.
It's valid.
Speaking of, I was watching Jaws 1 and 2 before I went, so I was a great little introduction,
that reintroduction to you.
Perfect movies to watch right before you're going to the beach.
Yeah, right.
Some light, you know.
All right.
I was going to make a bad joke.
I will not make that joke.
Let's talk cornerbacks.
So we know what we've gotten Pat Sertan, right?
Who's the best cornerback in the league?
The question is what comes after me?
I forget if it was a couple of, I think it was a couple of shows ago,
like where we kind of dived into like Riley Moss's future with the team
just because he could be a casualty at some point,
whether it's in free agency next year or a trade candidate,
just because of the guys they have behind him and Jaquah McMillah,
but more specifically, Jada Baron.
Like if Jaday Barron comes out and matches Riley Moss in competition,
like I'm not, you know, I'm not sure if Riley's going to be traded because, you know, it's a hard position to replace.
But like, I would think they want to give Jaday Bear in every opportunity to go out there and get the most playing time possible.
Just knowing he's a first round pick.
I don't think that's going to be the case this year.
Like I said, and I've stuck firm to it.
I don't think Riley's got to worry for his job this year.
Look, I think they're going to let him play out.
He's going to be the unquestioned starter.
I think you'll see Jada get some snaps in the preseason.
I don't think he's going to be indicative of Riley.
I very much think the Broncos will have to make it.
a decision between Riley and J-Quon.
And I think just knowing what we know, seeing what we've seen, nothing against Riley,
J-Quon at the nickel position is probably the guy, which allows Jadae to step into that
outside corner role going into his third season.
You know, there's no rush to make him this guy here in year two.
There was no rush to make him this guy in year one.
It's, hey, let's let's let this guy develop and then get on the field.
I mean, that's kind of where I'm out with that.
I don't think that Riley's job is necessarily, uh,
question right now. Let's say, let's throw out a hypothetical here. Okay. So J-Quan playing in the
slot inherently is going to cost a lot less. Let's say both Jayquan and Riley have five
interceptions this season. They just go off and they play great. They both make it to the Pro Bowl,
whatever. And at the end of the season, in the off season, what's going to happen because of
Jayquan playing in the slot, he will get a contract that is substantially less than Riley
Moss, substantially.
I mean, outside corners get paid a lot more money.
That's just the reality of the NFL.
So let's just say in training camp, the Broncos are seeing Jaday taking some steps forward
in his game.
They're seeing like, man, this guy's good.
Like we drafted him in the first round.
He's obviously got to play.
and he looks good out there.
But Riley's also having a good camp.
And then let's say that Brad Holmes,
the general manager of the Detroit Lions,
after watching two preseason games of his team
and his cornerbacks sucking it up out there,
whoever the heck they even have,
he calls up George Payton and he's like, look,
I got nothing at corner.
And we're also in a title window right now.
I will give you a second round pick for Riley Moss,
because I know you guys can't sign both Riley and Jake.
Kwan. What are you saying to that? Because if you can get a second round pick for Riley with a first
rounder waiting in the wings, I don't think you can pass that up. Now, I wouldn't take less than a third
because if Riley leaves in free agency, you're liable to get a third round compensatory pick
for him. So I wouldn't take less than a third. But if somebody comes like Detroit offering a second,
I don't think I would be able to turn that down
and that's the hardest thing for me to say
because you guys know I love my Hawkeyes.
But I think even if it's a team like Detroit
that you expect to play well,
that's an offer that if it comes around
and somebody's banging on your door,
you have the players, not only is your day,
but then Chris Abrams drain still sitting there,
who does nothing really other than special teams.
And he could start for a lot of teams.
So if you get an offer for Riley,
I think that that's something,
that I would say, okay, you're not shopping him around, but you might take a good offer like that if it comes to you.
But Sarah, this is why these preseason games are going to be really important for Chris Abrams drain.
He really has to show that his skills has vastly improved.
And some of these preseason games, especially, you know, the second and third one,
it's not going to be elite wide receiver play that he's playing against.
So you're hoping that if you're Chris Abrams drain, that, you know, maybe the starting defense will only play,
a couple of snaps. Now, that gives you an opportunity to kind of showcase your ability.
And as it comes to Riley Moss and Jaday Barron, for me, I like the scenario that you presented.
Because if there is a possibility that the Broncos can, you know, get a draft choice,
a second round, maybe a third for a guy like Riley Moss. Yeah, you definitely look at that because,
yeah, you got Jada Barron and the waitings. And this is why the Broncos selecting Jada in the first round,
it's so valuable and was so important because most people,
they still hate that idea.
Like, why would they go out and draft a guy in the corner position?
You already have Riley, you have PS2.
You could have use that pick for somewhere else,
but it is to put them in this position.
So now, as you are evaluating,
and I'll put all three of you guys in a scenario,
you are evaluating both of these guys,
and you're saying, okay, well, who actually not won the day,
but who won trainee camp?
And my biggest judgeer is not just going to be
what happens in the preseason game.
But what we are able to see and practice and what I mean by that,
I'm judging each one of these guys because how well do they cover against Jalen Waddle?
See, that is going to be my litmus step because if you can do that in training camp
against that guy who's on your team, oh, you'll be set for the games.
You will be a okay.
And one of the biggest question marks for Riley Moss is, has he matured enough where he stopped
grabbing, right?
that's what I want to see.
If he's proven that he can do that when he's overcome that,
the whole conversation about drafting, whatever, I mean, excuse me, trading,
all that stuff is dead in the water if he improves that area of his game.
I like it.
I like it.
I really do.
And just one quick thing on what Sarah.
Do you?
I ain't taking what?
I was going to say, you said you liked it.
You really are like, do you?
How much do you like?
Well, I always say, I ain't taking anything less than a second, knowing I can get a third.
Like if you're going to offer me a third, I might as well keep Riley on the wrong.
Even if it's a second, I ain't taking it.
I just think like it's a premium position.
That's a conversation for another day.
But you have to.
You can't, you can't pass on.
If you're not going to resign Riley, if that's not in the plans,
you cannot sacrifice a second round pick for one more year of Riley.
I can't do it.
It'll load of draft.
I'm with Sarah on this one.
What if they want to sign them though?
if then they then they need to make him an offer they need to make it clear because they have to have
that leverage if that offer comes through if if that's a real thing like like i said i don't know that
to be the case but there's going to be a lot of desperate teams there's the Chicago bears overhauled
their entire secondary they think they're competing for a super bowl they don't have they don't have
all the pieces there i don't necessarily know that they need corners but detroit that the whole
NFC North cornerback position, absolute garbage.
So you could have four, that's four teams that expect to compete this year,
who could be reasonably expected to be calling George.
And if one team calls and says, hey, we'll give you a third for Riley.
George says, no, we're not taking a third for him, hangs up the phone.
The next guy calls and he says, we just got a call for a third on Riley.
You better do better than that.
And so this is how this goes.
but you can't you can't take jadee in my opinion in the first round of the draft and not have a
succession plan in place now that doesn't mean you have to trade riley by any mean i don't think
the broncos are in a position where they have to trade him unless you get a great offer
because if if you don't have a plan for jadee either that's two years now that he's now he's
going to be expected in year three to come in and start an outside corner for a super bowl contending
team. I think you may have to rip off that band-aid as difficult as it may be, although the only
caveat to that is, is if you are planning on giving him a contract, if you do say, no, there's a
realistic chance that we're going to resign Riley. Like, if he goes out there and balls out
this year, we're going to give him the bag, then fine, keep him. Don't trade him. Don't even,
don't even entertain the idea. But if you get an offer for a second in camp and there's even a glimmer
of thought in your mind that Barron is going to start next year or at some point this year
if Riley struggles because that's another thing we've talked about.
How long is the leash for Riley Moss?
Because he has, he did lead the league in penalty yards last year.
He gets targeted 110 times a season and he has two interceptions in his career.
So that has to be better.
There's multiple aspects of his game.
The grabbiness has to be better.
So I think that's where to me I'm kind of talking myself into this idea.
as much as I would like the alternative,
which is Riley balls out this season.
He earns another contract, a big money deal.
But I think if you get an offer for a second
and there's even a shred of thought in your mind
that Barron is going to start for you at some point,
you've got to take it.
I like it.
Let's hit our final break.
When we come back, we'll put it bow on their show.
We'll talk about who has the most to gain
and who has the most to lose for the Denver Broncos
the other course of training camp.
That's next.
Today's episode of your Locked-on Broncos squad show is brought to you by our friends over at Odu.
Running a business shouldn't feel like you're trying to connect a bunch of systems that were never designed to work together.
One app for accounting, another for inventory, another for sales, and somehow none of them talk to each other.
That's where Odu comes in.
Odo is an all-in-one business management software that brings every part of your business together in one powerful platform.
From sales and accounting to inventory and marketing, everything works in one place, helping your team move faster,
stay organized and focus on growing the business instead of managing software.
The best organizations know that success isn't just about talent.
It's about having everyone working toward the same goal.
And that's true in sports,
just like it is in business.
Guys,
I think the Denver Broncos are like the perfect example of this, right?
We know they've got talent.
They've got Bow Nix.
They've got Nick Benito.
They've got a great offensive line.
They just added Jalen Waddle.
They've had Cortland's son.
They brought in Talanoho Fonka last offseason.
They've got Patrick Sertan, right?
But none of that talent matters.
if the organization as a whole is not in the same page.
It starts with Greg Penner in the ownership group.
It trickles down to George Payton in the front office.
And of course, a lot of that falls on Sean Payton as the head coach of the team.
The great organizational structure of the Denver Broncos is part of what makes that organization so great and so successful,
both on the football field and in the business operations realm, guys.
And that's exactly what our friends over at Odo are going to be able to do for your business.
Great organizations win because operations matter.
and that's why you should get O-D-O-D-O-D-com slash Lockdown.
That's O-D-O-O-O-O-com slash Locked on.
Be sure to check out our friends over at O-D-O-D-U guys
and let them know that Locked-on Broncos sent you.
All right, we'll come on back into your Lock-Dum, Broncos Squad Show.
Appreciate you guys for rocking with us.
If you're on YouTube, make sure to hit that like button, smash that subscribe button.
And for our audio listeners, we appreciate you guys as well.
Let's go around the horn here.
Who has the most to gain and the most to love?
lose from Broncos training camp.
We'll start with gain. Who has the most
to gain? Cody will start with you. Then we'll go
to Sayre, followed by Nick and myself.
Oh, I was going to say
who's done. I mean, starting off with
the gain is kind of tied in who has the
most to lose in my opinion. Jonah Ellis
has the most to gain while Jonathan Cooper has
the most to lose here in this situation. Just
because we don't know from the legality
standpoint what the NFL is going to
do just yet because Cooper's still
awaiting the court. He's still waiting
to see when his trial date will be.
And that's what the NFL is monitoring alongside the Broncos.
And then from that standpoint, once that clarification happens,
that's when the league could come in.
They could suspend him or they could put him on the commissioner exempt list.
Or there's a scenario where he does, in fact, play until he goes through his legal process from the court side of things.
But I think right now, regardless, Jonah Ellis stands to have the most to gain here because of the fact that the Broncos,
they can rely right now on Jonah Ellis in terms of certainty right now and in the near future.
whereas with Cooper, you don't know if he's going to be even be able to play this upcoming season pending his off-field situation.
That's where I think things are very interesting for this Broncos team right now.
I'm going to highlight Jonah as my guy who I think has the most to gain.
I like it.
Sarah?
Jonah Ellis would also be my pick for who has the most to gain.
So if I have to pick somebody else, I'm thinking through.
I think ultimately it could be one of the rookies from this class that we kind of, you know, highlighted a little bit earlier.
I think it might be somebody like Jonah Coleman, right?
Going into training camp,
it's not like there's necessarily been this super open competition at the running back position,
but obviously you brought him in for a reason.
And George Payton out before day three of the draft said,
we're looking for guys that we believe have future starter traits.
And then their first pick on day three is Jonah Coleman.
So I think that in itself is interesting.
And I'm not necessarily on the same page of folks who are saying,
I think he's going to take J.K. Dobbins job this year at some point or anything like that.
I think that would have to be an injury situation, and we don't want that.
But I do think that Jonah has everything to gain from this training camp.
When the pads come on, you prove yourself trustworthy against the number one defense,
because we know he's going to play against the number one defense at some point.
They rotate those guys in with the first team all the time.
If you prove yourself against those guys and against Vance Joseph's scheme during practice,
you are going to get a lot of playing time during the season.
So I think he has a lot to gain from this training camp.
I think with the most to lose during camp,
it could be the guy that we just talked about.
It could be Riley Moss, maybe Jaday Barron.
It could be somebody like Troy Franklin.
I mean, those are the guys to me that you look at and say,
hey, they kind of had a mixed bag last year.
So maybe it's Evan Ingram.
I mean, anybody who had a mixed bag last year who's coming into this season
and you have sort of a renewed optimism,
but maybe like a,
I just don't know what's going to happen there.
I think those are the players that have the most to lose,
guys like Evan, Troy Franklin,
Riley Jaday, at the cornerback position,
and then maybe the linebackers,
because ultimately, I mean,
that's where the Broncos put maybe their biggest leap of faith
on the roster this year is by bringing those guys back.
So if they have a bad training camp,
that could be,
they could be on blast there as well.
So I know that was a lot of different players,
but it just feels like there's there's stakes all over the place for this team,
especially in the competitive window.
I'm going to start with the bad because I want to leave on a good note.
So with that being said, far as the loser, I'm going to go Troy Franklin.
And the reason I'm going to go Troy Franklin,
I know everyone was thinking, okay, well, his connection with Bo Nix,
that's going to solidify himself.
But I think that's kind of run its course.
It's about time for Troy Franklin to start to separate himself.
help, but then you say, well, the Broncos just added Jalen Wado.
And this man, a lot of talk about Jalen Watton.
You know they're going to try to feature him in some type of way.
And even if they don't, they're going to use Jailen Wadle somewhat as a decoy to get everyone else,
their touches and their targets.
And I know everyone's thinking that Marvin Mims is on his way out,
but here's something that Marvin does that we haven't seen Troy do.
Well, Marvin can do two jobs and you pay him one paycheck.
We've seen what he could do on special teams,
and we've seen what he could do from a wide receiving standpoint.
As far as Troy is concerned, we've only seen him do little work from a wide receiving standpoint,
and that within itself has been inconsistent.
Now, as far as the biggest gainer, I'm going to go with a young rookie Tyler Odeedom.
And the reason I say that because they don't have no JFM.
And knowing as though preseason, this is the time where you make a name for yourself.
And we've seen in minicamp, we've seen them show some flashes.
So this is a young guy who's very hungry to go out there.
and really show the team who he is because he wants playing time.
He just don't want to be a guy standing on the sideline.
No, he wants to play next to Malcolm Road, next to Zach Allen.
He feels as though he can make a large impact in this rookie year.
So that's the guy I think who's going to gain the most in this preseason.
Yeah, I think to stick with that theme, I like on Yetam.
I think he's kind of flown under the radar considering he was their top pick,
obviously like in a later round, like not a first round pick.
I think Wazerike is similar in that scenario where I think he has a lot to gain.
I think you can throw in a Wazerike.
I think you can throw in Savian Jones, right?
I think there's a lot of players that can play defensive line.
Jonah Ellis is also where I was going to go to.
Like it feels like they have a lot to gain defensive.
Like there's a lot of upside just because of the uncertainty of Jonathan Cooper,
a couple of the fact that you lose JFM.
So I think you can go either way there.
One thing where I'll disagree with with you a little bit, Nick,
is I think it's like Troy Franklin or Pat Brian that has the
I was thinking on offense because if one of those two guys can step up to the plate and stabilize
themselves, and I'm not trying to pigeonhole guys wide receiver one, wide receiver two, wide receiver
three, but it does feel like that secondary type of role behind Cortland Sutton and Jalen
Waddle is kind of up for grabs, kind of like that number two role behind Cortland Sutton was up
for grabs last year. So like if you're Pat Bryant, who I know is younger than Troy Franklin,
but even Troy or even Marvin Mimsom gets the opportunity, if you show up and show out in training camp,
you're probably going to be on a good path to secure yourself a second contract and make that big money in the NFL and become a kind of a core part of this team because it feels like those three guys are also kind of battling who's going to be here long term who's going to be on another team so I think defensive line linebacker and wide receiver those are the positions that have the most to gain and when it comes to most to lose look I think he's making the team probably no matter what I think it's at the anger like just because of how last season went man like I think not saying how the fan base is.
fuse him has any implication on how the team views him.
But like, outside of Dray Greenlaw, the most disappointing season, you know, from a person
who had to be had optimism for entering in the last year.
So I think Evan Ingram has a lot riding for himself this year as well.
I think you bring up a good point as well at linebacker.
I just think they're so thin that even if single thinners do not does struggle,
they're going to be given the benefit of the doubt.
But Evan Ingram is a guy to me that has to perform or else there's going to be pressure
on him, fellows.
I don't feel like Evans issues, though, last year were really his fault, though.
I mean, so I don't feel like he's going to have as much pressure on him.
I think that, hey, he's in the last year of his deal.
He's going to go out there and he's going to ball out.
He's got that asset in his back pocket, which is being former teammates in Davis Webb.
Now, I'm sure he and Davis, they probably got together, had a few coronas over the, you know,
the course of the summer and chit-chatted, had some wings.
You know, that's Evans' go-to after a game.
He always gets wings in a corona, which is always cool.
nice little tidbit to know about
Great combo.
One of fantastic.
You know, winning's winning, which by the way, on my flight,
homie, know what I watched on a plane?
The first Fast and Furious movie, man.
I tell you, gets me going.
Anyways.
But no, I don't know.
I don't think Evan's got as much pressure on him or the most to lose at this point.
I think if anyone has anything to lose,
man, it's tough like looking at it from this whole team standpoint.
There's not many cases I would make for a player outside of Jonathan Cooper.
Does Davis Webb have a different situation too?
Does Davis Webb, though, does Davis Webb have the most to lose
considering the hype right now around play calling?
Maybe, and it's not necessarily the player aspect.
It is the play caller aspect.
You know, because I think a lot of Broncos country,
they've been so excited about this,
but I also think a lot of people are giving Davis Webb flowers way too early.
We have not yet seen what it looks like.
So how can we get flowers on something?
We don't know what it's going to exactly look like.
I think ultimately, though, to that point, Cody,
like the jury will still be out until we get to the regular season.
Like I think there's only, there's only so much that I think Davis Webb will be able to
prove and showcase.
Have you seen this fan base during training camp in the preseason?
Yeah, but that's also just irrational.
Like, again, I understand like all these teams are irrational, you know,
but like I keep going back to the first six weeks, fellas.
And like, those first six weeks are going to be fascinating to see how they play out of the game,
man.
So we shall see.
Five and one, calling his shot a month in advance.
I like it.
than a month in advance. What are we like eight weeks out now, I think? Pretty close.
Yeah, it's almost here. Now, before we go, I've got, I've got Peyton being on my whiteboard here, right?
And this is just how we're going to do it. I got my things written down. I just, I'm going to go around the room.
I'm going to tell you to tell me one thing that you think Sean Payton will say during training camp or the preseason.
As it pertains to training camp preseason roster stuff, maybe a phrase or something. And we'll see who knows it.
Sarah, let's start off with you.
I'm trying to think of the word that he always throws into,
hmm.
I think I know what you're saying.
He's definitely going to come out and say before every press conference,
we're not talking about injuries.
Yeah, that's a guarantee.
What is the word that he uses constantly that he's,
he always has written down or ends.
Oh my gosh.
And he's going to bother me now.
He's going to use his hand gesture, right?
He has the hand gesture and he'll say like,
It starts with an R.
Oh, my gosh.
I'm crumbling under the prize.
Re.
Re.
Rell.
My goodness.
Oh, my gosh.
Ferg.
I know what it is?
Relative two.
Yes.
Relative two.
All right.
Yes.
Relative two.
I needed way to listen.
A hint for that one.
I needed weight.
Berg, you're up next.
Well, I think because of the running game.
and the fact that the Broncos are not going to have joint practices.
Someone's going to ask him that question.
And his comments going to come back something about callus.
Building up callus.
I could see that.
I don't have that written on my whiteboard.
But yeah, I can't wait to share my own ones with you.
I guarantee you that's going to be asked.
That's 100% for Berg.
All right, AP, give you one.
I was going to say he's going to say parcels and saints more than he says Broncos.
We got to get the Parcell Saints counter going.
Okay, that'll be in there.
That's not what I had on my board.
Do you have another one?
Listen.
He always starts off.
Listen, look.
Right.
Since that, look, look, listen.
Listen.
Okay.
True.
My, I kind of put this, and I could have been better in explaining this,
I kind of put this in a little bit more broader terms of like what he,
what I know he's every year preseason or training cap rolls around what he's going to say.
The number one thing on the bingo card was,
you know what you're getting with that player.
That's one of them.
He loves that you're not.
Yes.
Just like calling people their name.
Yeah.
And so when you get to the second one,
especially before, you know,
when the NFL makes it to where you have to release an unofficial depth chart,
Sean always says,
I don't like doing it.
We're required to give out a depth chart.
That was number two on my list.
A good one.
And then a fun one that probably was not going to be on anyone's list.
What do you know about attacking downhill?
That's a good one.
That's a good one.
Evan.
Shout out to my man, Luca, man.
I hope if that comes up, someone has studied that so they can go, okay, I'm glad you asked that question, coach.
Here's what it means.
Yes.
Yeah.
I've been looking it up.
Right.
What do you know about attacking down here?
I've been watching some film over the off season.
Yes.
Yes.
I love it.
I love it.
Share your Peytonisms, folks.
Share your Peytonisms.
We'll do a, actually, I'll create a graphic in the coming weeks or so about the Sean
Peyton bingo card.
We'll print it out for everybody.
That way you can download it and you can save it.
And then maybe we can find a way to send someone up.
Eyes, man.
We'll figure that out.
I love it.
All right.
That is going to do it for us on today's Lockdown Broncos Squad show.
We appreciate you guys so, so much for tuning in.
We'll be back at it again.
We'll have some fun with that with training camp officially underway.
Rookies report in Maniana veterans next week as well.
But for Cody Rourke, Sarah Beto-Ferguson, I'm Anilo Piro.
Thank you guys so, so much for tuning in.
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday.
And we'll talk to you guys later.
Peace out, y'all.
