Pat Sertan and Quinn Miners were recognized in the first ever locked on NFL top 100 players list.
We're going to tell you where they ranked.
And we're also going to tell you about the biggest snub, the NFL's quarterback hits leader.
Why wasn't he on the list?
We're going to talk about that on today's episode, Locked on Broncos.
You are Locked on Broncos.
Your daily Denver Broncos podcast.
Part of the Locked on podcast network, your team every day.
Zach Allen continues to be disrespected amongst the NFL media.
Quinn Miners is slowly gaining respect from a lot of the NFL media.
And Pat Certan, I think everybody kind of realizes now the Denver Broncos defensive player
of the year.
He's the best corner in the game today.
Welcome in Broncos country.
We're breaking down something really historic here on the Lockdown Podcast Network,
the first ever locked on NFL top 100 players list.
tell you where Denver Broncos players ranked. We're going to tell you which players should have been
on this list and who weren't named to this list. And we're going to also take a look around the
league at some of the other players who are maybe getting recognized that maybe they shouldn't be
over some of these other Denver Broncos players. But welcome into the show today. My name is Sarah
Beninger. I'm the co-host here of Lockdown Broncos as well as the site expert over there at
predominantly orange. And I love getting to chat Denver Broncos with you every single day. And
Thank you to all of you everyday listeners of the show for rocking with us throughout the offseason.
The Denver Broncos, they are going to be hitting the field for training camp very soon.
We appreciate all of you every dayers out there that make us your first listen of the day every single day.
And today's show is brought to you by Fanduel.
Right now, new customers of Fandual can get $150 in bonus bets when your first $5 bet wins.
And the NFL top 100 players list is in.
the Lockdown Network. And of course, any conversation when it comes to a top 100 players list,
you're going to be wondering, not is Pat Certan on the list, but how high is Pat Certan on the list?
Well, the Denver Broncos cornerback and defensive player of the year, one of the best players
in the game today was recognized by the Lockdown Network as the ninth best player in the league.
it is so cool to see the Denver Broncos represented amongst the top 10 overall players in the league.
I think when you look at this list here and you see that there's not many defensive players in the top 10,
but Pat Sertan obviously deserves recognition as one of the top two or three overall defensive players in the league.
And of course, this isn't just based on which guys won awards last year, things like that.
I think obviously Pat Sertan being the reigning defensive player of the year,
he probably could have very well been the top ranked defensive guy on this list,
but he's ranked behind Miles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns and then Micah Parsons.
He's one spot behind him on this overall list.
And I think based on those guys' body of work, that's pretty fair, right?
When you look at Pat Sertan's body of work, obviously he is the best cornerback in the game,
which makes a huge difference.
But it's just the nature of the beast, isn't it?
That pass rushers kind of get a little bit more credit because those guys,
they can go out there, rack up a bunch of sacks.
And it's not dependent on whether or not the ball is being thrown your direction, right?
With Pat Sartan, you know, he's not always getting an opportunity to make plays on the football
because teams do avoid throwing his direction.
They threw way more at Riley Moss and, you know, the slot corner, J-Quan-McMillan last season.
But Sertan did a good job of taking advantage when the ball was thrown his direction,
as well as you see the advanced metrics in today's NFL really coming in.
into the favor of a guy like Pat Sertan, where it shows that he shuts down receivers when they
play in his coverage or when they're targeted in his coverage. And he shuts down some of the
best receivers in the game. There's a clip floating around on Instagram lately about a number of
the top receivers in the league, including Jamar Chase out there, Jerry Judy, Cortland Sutton,
and they're working with Chad Johnson, the former Bengals wide receiver. And they're having this
discussion about how to how to beat pat sur tan's coverage because these guys they can't figure him
out and the way that they're discussing it it's like they're trying to solve the the most impossible
sudoku puzzle ever i mean they can't figure it out because whatever chad johnson is saying
hey when he does this you do this then these guys bring an alternate to the table and then like no if
you do that he's going to do this so pat ser tan just shuts guys down and that's his reputation
in the league right now he didn't win defensive player of the year
because there wasn't a good enough pass rusher to give it to.
He won defensive player of the year because he knows how to lock down his side of the field.
And that's pretty rare in today's NFL.
Sartan is the highest ranked cornerback on this top 100 players list.
He's the highest ranked defensive back by far.
He's the highest ranked defender in the AFC West.
And the next best defensive back on the list is cornerback Derek Stingley, Jr.,
the 23rd ranked overall player,
followed pretty closely by safety Kyle Hamilton, the third ranked defensive back, and then
Sauce Gardner.
He rounds out the top 30 in terms of defensive backs to make it.
So only four total defensive backs in the top 30 overall, which is a bit surprising,
but it's great to see Pat Sartan being recognized.
We're not that far removed from the discussion being.
Is Pat Sertan really better than Sauce Gardner, right?
That was the discussion a lot last year.
And a lot of times you still see that stuff.
I think I don't know if Soss Gardner pays pro football focus or what,
but those guys rank him so highly every single year.
That's why we got the NFL top 100 from the Lockdown Network to keep things real here, right?
Obviously, Broncos country, you see Pat Sartan posting the numbers that he does.
I mean, he is just outstanding in every possible way.
When you talk about yards per route run, when you talk about completion percentage into his coverage,
quarterback rating into his coverage.
It is outstanding what he's able to do against the best quarterbacks, the best receivers in the NFL.
And of course, first team all pro.
Three time pro bowl selection now.
I mean, this guy does everything.
And what's really fascinating from last season, the best quarterback rating into his coverage that he has ever allowed.
58.9 is the quarterback rating that when quarterbacks are throwing at Pat Certan, they're basically a next.
negative, right? And he's not giving up hardly anything after the catch. Like, he is doing
everything out there. And that's a big reason why this Denver Broncos defense ranked third overall
in points allowed in the NFL last season, even with a short absence earlier in the season from
Certan after he suffered the injury against the Los Angeles Chargers, we saw this unit really
take a huge step forward. And when he's out there, you just feel so confident that if anybody does
try to throw it in his direction that the Broncos are going to benefit from that.
It's a net positive for the Denver Broncos anytime quarterbacks try to test Pat Curtain,
the highest ranked defensive back on the first ever locked on NFL top 100 players.
Really exciting.
I think, you know, you would love to see him be higher on the list.
I think when you talk about guys that are ahead of him, you know, especially the guys that
he's been able to shut down, you know, Jamar Chase for sure,
had a hard time with Pat Sertan in their matchup late last season when the Broncos
went to Cincinnati.
You'd love to see Pat kind of get that recognition of, okay, the dominance that we do see
from receivers like Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, that's really matched by what Pat
does, not just because teams are able to throw at the other side of the field and have more
success, but just because Pat shuts it down and makes it so that you.
you pay anytime you throw the ball his way.
And that's what makes him so special.
That's what for Broncos country that was around and really watching a lot at this time,
I know there's a lot of younger fans that are seeing Pat Sartan.
He's the most dominant corner they've ever seen.
But for those who are like me in your mid-30s or older,
you know, Champ Bailey was that guy back in the day.
And Champ Bailey set a precedent of you throw the ball his direction.
You're making a mistake.
one way or the other. It's kind of just like you're throwing into no man's land and you're asking for trouble.
That's what teams are doing when they test Pat Sertan. It's very similar. We really hope that we can see an uptick in targets towards Pat's direction this coming season because last year only 62 targets.
Now, yes, he played in 16 games compared to 17 the previous two, but that was a significant decrease.
I mean, he was targeted 91 times in 2023, 77 times in 20.
22 and then 96 back in his rookie season.
So to be only targeted 62 times in a season,
I mean, Pat's not getting the ball his direction a ton.
And so you want to see that hopefully increase.
So I need those other corners in Denver to hopefully pop up on this list next year
and become top 100 players according to the locked on NFL network.
And maybe we will see that.
Maybe we'll see Riley Moss emerge.
Maybe one day, Jada Baron will be on this list.
but for now, Pat Sertan, the highest ranked Denver Bronco on the list.
And Broncos country, he wasn't the only one representing the orange and blue on the
lockdown NFL top 100 players list.
Quinn Miners, a first team all pro in 2024, followed that up with his first NFL top 100
selection according to the lockdown NFL number.
We're going to talk about minors, where he ranked among guards, offensive linemen,
as well as the biggest snub on the Denver Broncos roster coming up on today's episode,
Lockdown Broncos.

Quinn Miners was a first team all pro selection in 2024.
And he followed that up with even more recognition here in the 2025 offseason landing 70th,
which is really good for an offensive lineman in the first ever top 100 players list put out by the Lockedon NFL network.
Once again, Broncos country.
Thank you so much for tuning in today, making us your first list of.

You don't want to miss a single bit of Broncos News content coverage, especially as we ramp up
towards training camp where Quinn Miner is going to look a lot different to a lot of people.
If you haven't seen already, he did cut his beautiful dreadlocks.
and he looks like a different guy.
But the belly is still out.
I'm sure it will still be out throughout training camp.
And he mentioned last year when he was asked about, you know, the belly and putting the
belly away for certain practices, he basically was like, you know what?
I don't want to be known for that.
I want to be known for the way that I play.
And he certainly accomplished that in 2024.
Not only did Quinn get one of the biggest contracts at 18 million a year for an offensive
guard, but he followed that up by becoming a first team all pro.
it's kind of crazy to think about just how far he has come since he was drafted by the Denver Broncos, right?
I mean, Quinn was the guy who during the pre-draft process, everybody's talking about,
look at this guy cutting down trees in the wilderness out there in Wisconsin,
and look at him running around with giant logs and water bottles attached to sticks,
like all these sorts of things like he was doing for strength training when we were all in quarantine, right?
And so he kind of became famous for the quirky stuff that he did to stay in shape during that time.
But he dominated the senior bowl.
The Broncos used a top 100 pick on him.
And he has become the best guard in football, in my opinion.
Now, was he completely recognized in that way, according to the lockdown NFL top 100?
He was not.
He ranked 70th overall on the list.
And he was one of the top 15 offensive linemen, very good.
Actually, he was 13th among offensive lines.
lineman, fourth among offensive guards behind Chris Lindstrom of the Falcons.
Kind of a surprise first team selection there.
Joe Tuny, now of the Chicago Bears, and then Quentin Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts.
Now, I do have to kind of make a point about this because you got a bit of a bone to pick
when a guy is the first team all pro at his position, and he's ranked fourth amongst that
position on a top 100 list.
it does feel a bit like the Broncos have to scrape and claw for recognition.
Now, evaluating offensive linemen is very tough because, you know, it's one of those things that,
okay, it's not necessarily subjective, but it's almost like the bigger name, you know,
the more attention a guy receives, the more he's going to be well received by the general public,
right? It's not that everybody's out there saying, hey, this guy's doing great at his blocking assignment.
It's more so can you be dominant in certain very specific areas like sacks allowed or are we going to see you putting pancake blocks out there on tape?
Quinn Miners does all of those things extremely well.
So it's not that it's frustrating to see him come in at this point on the list.
And here we'll show you the graphic of Pat Sartan and Quinn Miners both in their ranking respectively on the NFL top 100.
Again, Pat Sertan coming in at 9th and Quinn.
minors being the 70th overall player on the list, it's a great recognition to have minors being
in the top 100 whatsoever because it still feels like generally speaking, he's not well thought of
by everybody, which that can be a number of different things, right?
The Broncos, they were not on TV at all in 2023.
Nobody was talking about them.
And they weren't expected to be good this past year.
They were expected to be actually quite bad this past season.
And so for him to get this recognition, it requires a lot of people who watch a lot of the Broncos to lobby for the guy.
And I was surprised, quite frankly, that he was named a first team all pro because he wasn't selected to the Pro Bowl.
And that's kind of the point here in general is a guy like this is not the most popular offensive linemen in the league.
Like everybody knows Quentin Nelson, why?
Because, well, he was one of the top picks in his draft class.
and he's somebody who has played extremely well from the moment that he stepped onto an NFL field.
In fact, all these guys ahead of Quinn Miners on the list, they were either a first round pick
or they were guys who were highly paid in free agency.
Like Joe Tuny got a big money deal from Kansas City.
And that was when he really established himself as one of those.
Oh, okay, now we got the big money contract.
He plays for the team that's, you know, winning Super Bowls and things like that.
We're going to talk about this guy more.
we're going to put him higher on list.
You recognize what he already was doing in New England with Kansas City.
And obviously he continued to improve, continue to get better.
Chris Lindstrom, first round pick of the Atlanta Falcons.
So these guys have higher draft notoriety.
They're maybe more well known because of what teams they've played for in the past.
And, you know, those certain types of things.
And I think with Quinn Miners, it's like, all right, he made the first team all pro.
He was properly recognized there.
But then he's coming in lower.
on some of these top 100 lists or didn't make the Pro Bowl, things like that.
And we don't exactly know why other than the popularity aspect of things.
And so I think Broncos country does have a decent gripe with somebody like Quinn Miners being
ranked 70th.
You know, Lindstrom, Tuni and Nelson all coming in the top 56 overall players.
Lindstrom was the highest ranked guard in the NFL at the 52nd overall spot.
and you look all the way through this list,
and the offensive line doesn't have a ton of representation in the top 20 overall.
It's it's Pene Sewell of the Detroit Lions and Lane Johnson amongst the top 20 overall guys.
And I think that that's, you know, again, those two guys play on two of the most popular teams in the league right now,
the Eagles and the Detroit Lions.
Those teams are on TV all the time.
You hear about those guys all the time.
and they've understandably created reputations for themselves in different ways.
And so what's it going to take for Quinn Miners to get into that discussion?
I think this is a stepping stone towards that, honestly.
You know, when you talk about a guy deserving,
I think Sean Payton told this story before about a player that he had in New Orleans,
who was absolutely dominating as a guard.
And he basically told this guy who was getting frustrated,
he wasn't getting recognized for the way that he was playing.
He's like, you won't make any Pro Bowls for the first, you know, four or five years of your career.
And then you'll make 10 straight because people kind of catch on, right?
And that's kind of just how it works for offensive linemen in the NFL.
And Sean even said that he told Quinn Miners, like, you'll make five that you shouldn't,
when you missed five that you shouldn't or something like that, you know, three or three, four,
five, however many it is.
Basically, what he's saying is that you'll get recognized later in your career when maybe
you're just kind of skating by on your reputation as opposed to when you,
when you're creating that reputation and not being recognized for it because frankly,
evaluating offensive line play is very difficult, although Quinn Miners makes it really fun because
he does bury dudes in the ground.
And one guy who doesn't get buried in the ground a lot as a defensive lineman is Denver
Broncos pass rusher and do everything, man, on the defensive front, Zach Allen.
Zach Allen had the best year of his career in 2024, did everything that he possibly could
in order to appear on everybody's list and every pro bowl, all pro, whatever.
And ultimately, he's been one of the biggest snubs of recognition out of anybody in the NFL.
Forget the Broncos for a second.
Anybody in the NFL, we're going to tell you all about it coming up on today's episode,
Locked on Broncos.
Zach Allen did not make the NFL top 100 list for the Locked on NFL network.
And it is a disappointment, Broncos country.
And you know what?
We got to talk about it.
because there's a lot of deserving players, probably more than 100 players deserving of top
100 consideration than can actually make it.
But you figure the guy who led the NFL in quarterback hits, he would probably be a no-brainer,
maybe closer to the top 50 than the top 100 overall.
And shoot, maybe closer to the top 25 than the top 50, right?
Because Zach Allen did things in 2025 that very few people, or 2024, excuse me,
that very few players have done in the past.
There's names like, you know,
T.J. Watt and Aaron Donald amongst the company that Zach Allen is keeping with 40
quarterback hits in a single season.
These are things that you don't really see.
And with Zach,
you're talking about the guy who legitimately led the NFL in quarterback hits last season.
And that's not as a defensive tackle.
That's not interior lineman.
That is straight up everybody.
And that is impressive.
When you talk about guys like Trey Hendrickson who had 17 and a half sacks last year,
Trey Hendrickson played one more game than Zach Allen even and had 36 quarterback hits.
Miles Garrett played 17 games, 14 sacks.
He had 28 quarterback hits.
So what Zach Allen did last year, I mean, it was absolutely incredible.
And sure, maybe if he had the double digit sack season,
he would have gotten properly recognized by not just this top 100 list, but obviously,
Zach was a second team all pro when he should have been a first team all pro.
And he didn't get a pro bowl nod.
He was 14th in NFL defensive player of the year voting, which I guess at least means that
he got votes from some people, you know, at least for, you know, something.
So that's that's not for nothing.
But at the same time, you almost wonder if you're Zach, like, what do you got to do?
I mean, what do I have to do to get that recognition?
And again, it might be one of those instances where it's just a year too late, right?
It's a year.
It'll be a year too late where you get recognized for things or, you know, maybe he'll skate
by from the reputation that he had in 2024 and that'll carry over to 2025.
But whatever the case may be, I think Zach has a gripe as being the biggest snub on this list
overall.
Like I said, based on the fact that he should have been a first team all pro, I think you're
closer to the top 25 overall.
then you would be the top 50 or even the top 100.
So even if he came in in the 90s or something like that,
I think that would have even been a snub sort of situation.
But for Zach to be left off the list completely,
it is disappointing.
Again, the top three defensive players in the league,
Miles Garrett, Micah Parsons, and our own Pat Sartan.
But the top defensive linemen in the NFL, according to this list,
is Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones.
Now, yes, Jones has been.
one of the most dominant players at his position in the NFL for a long time.
But I don't think there's a case to be made that he was better than Zach Allen last year.
Dexter Lawrence, Jalen Carter, a couple of guys in the top 35 overall.
Those guys are definitely deserving of recognition as some of the most dominant players
on the defensive interior in the NFL.
Cam Hayward, his reputation precedes him.
Callais Campbell, though, being at number 48 on the,
list. He's one of those guys that we kind of talked about where, yeah, I mean, he's still
productive. The fact that Callais Campbell is still as productive as he is at his age is remarkable,
but you're not grading on that curve anymore, right? I mean, for him to be ranked as the 48th best
overall player in the NFL and for Zach Allen to be completely left off the list, I mean,
that's just, that's not right. That's not how it should be Campbell. Again, not to take anything away
from him. But you know what? In situations like this, you kind of do have to talk about the guys that
made the list versus the guys who didn't. Jeffrey Simmons of the Titans coming in at 55th overall on the
list. Quinn and Williams at 62. And I mean, Zach Allen should be easily fitting in over a number of
these guys. I mean, Chargers pass rusher Khalil Mack made the list. Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey
made the list. It's almost hard to even fathom that somebody like Zach Allen would miss out on a
list like this. Even Derek Brown of the Panthers and Leonard Williams, Leonard Williams probably
one of the bigger snubs on this list being as low as he is. But there's a lot of defensive linemen,
a lot of pass rushers on this list who didn't even come close to matching the production that we
saw from Zach Allen last year. I mean, Khalil, Matt.
he was 52nd in the NFL in total quarterback hits last year.
Six sacks.
You can say what you will about rankings list being subjective,
rankings lists not necessarily meaning much,
but man, this is a tough pill to swallow.
When you talk about a guy that already wasn't being recognized enough
for what he did last season,
again, being a second team all pro was a slap in Zach Allen's
face and not being selected to the pro bowl, that was a major slap in his face.
Because to play as well as he did last season on a consistent basis, 40 quarterback
hits in 16 games is ridiculous.
And then he adds in 15 tackles for loss, eight and a half sacks.
I mean, that's the definition of an impact player.
And he did this in pretty unprecedented form, at least as far as,
what we're seeing in the league today.
Not many defensive linemen play as many snaps as Zach Allen did last year.
He played a career high, 964 total snaps last season.
So you look through this list.
I think another big snub for the Denver Broncos would have to be Nick Benito,
who was seventh in the NFL and quarterback hits.
He had 13 and a half sacks, which was up there amongst the best in the league.
third most sacks in the NFL last season, had a couple of game-changing plays.
Obviously, his two defensive touchdowns that he scored, one against the Browns, one against
the Colts.
Those were massive plays that played into the Broncos making the playoffs.
So Nick Benito, just like Zach Allen, has a major case as a second team all pro
himself and a pro bowl pass rusher, ninth in defensive player of the year voting.
I mean, why are we putting Khalil Mack on lists anymore these days?
I don't understand that.
I think Calais Campbell being on the list,
like these guys being on the list indicates a list from, you know,
five years ago,
five, six years ago,
these guys that the Broncos have that are producing at an elite level in the
pass rush department,
no less,
they deserve top 100 recognition and they're not getting it.
And that's not right.
So you've got to call these things out.
Jonathan Cooper may have a case for being on the list,
although I think that him not being on there is a bit more understandable.
And then you kind of look at, okay, are they splitting hairs in other areas?
I think with Jaden Daniels making the list, I feel like Bo Nix could have been in consideration for that.
And there's, you know, quite a few quarterbacks on this list, including when you look at the top 10,
four of the top five players in the NFL were quarterbacks this past season, according to the
locked on NFL top 100.
And then you go down the list, of course, a little bit first.
you'll find Justin Herbert, Matthew Stafford, both in the top 40.
I think that's fair for those guys, although, you know, everybody has their own thoughts
on which quarterbacks should be where on the list of top quarterbacks in the league.
Jalen Hertz, Baker Mayfield, they're in the top, top 100 list.
CJ Stroud, he's on the list.
And like I said, Jaden Daniels is also on the list.
Jordan Love is the 68th best player.
And where did Jaden come in?
Let's find Jaden on this list.
Jared Gough made the list.
I think Jaden just kind of snuck in there at some point.
Doc Prescott made the list.
So you look at these guys in their placement on the list,
and you kind of figure, all right,
Bo Nix could probably be on there.
He could be somebody that you look at the season that he had
as a historic rookie season in terms of his production.
I mean, one of the best years ever for a rookie quarterback in terms of total
touchdown.
Jaden Daniels is 31st overall on the list.
by the way. So he's getting some serious love on this top 100 list. And Bo Nix had 34 total
touchdowns last year. That was the most of any quarterback in the rookie class, more than Jaden
Daniels. And that was really close to the most ever by a rookie quarterback. Justin Herbert had 36 back
in 2020 when he was selected. And then Cam Newton had 35 back in 2011. So we're talking about
the third best ever for a rookie quarterback in the NFL in terms of total touchdown.
and Bo helped lead this Broncos team to a top 10 offensive ranking with very bad weapons around him.
And let's just be honest about that.
That's the case.
And he did so with, you know, a lot of pressure and a lot of guys coming after him for being a reach in the first round and being somebody who wasn't deserving of even the 12th overall pick and somebody who was going to be a checkdown merchant at the NFL level.
So I feel like with Jaden Daniels coming in at 31 and then so many other quarterbacks,
making that top 100 list.
I think Bo Nix could easily be a consideration for that.
But ultimately, Broncos country, it is Pat Sertan and Quinn Miners representing this Denver
Broncos team at 9th and 70th overall, respectively on the first ever locked on NFL top 100,
a massive achievement for the network overall and just really exciting to see all the
hard work that gets put into this.
And so we disagree on certain things with the list,
but we respect the list and we respect the players that get put on there.
Obviously, there's a lot of deserving players.
Like I said, not everybody's going to make a top 100 list that should make it.
And of course, if these Broncos guys made it,
there would be other hosts out there talking about why their guys should have made it instead.
But Broncos country, we appreciate you so much.
We've got a great episode of tomorrow's show going through the edge position on this Denver Broncos roster.
It might be the best position on the entire team going into training camp.
We're going to break that position down.
and why it could be the best edge group in the entire league.
So don't miss out on that.
And we appreciate you for tuning in today on this episode, Lockdown Broncos.
