Former Super Bowl 50 cornerback, Akib to lead, predicted one major move for the Denver Broncos early in the offseason.
But now he's predicting another one.
You are Locked on Broncos, your daily Denver Broncos podcast.
Part of the Locked On podcast network, your team every day.
What's up, Broncos country?
I'm Cody Roark, joined by Sarah Bender.
Today's episode show is brought to you by Fandul.
Right now, new customers can bet just $5 to get $250 in bonus bets.
Your first bet wins.
Head to Fandu.com to get started.
as we talk about the Broncos could be in a position to make another major move here soon,
according to former Super Bowl 50, former all-pro cornerback, Akib Talib.
Would the Denver Broncos trade for defensive help?
And if so, what options could be on the table for them?
Plus, could they go out and secure another playmaker for Bo Nix this off season?
We're going to go through that, but we're going to kick things off by talking about the latest from Akib
to Leab and why he teases another big move here for the Denver Broncos.
looking at what that could look like in the form of the NFL draft, some different storylines
around the league.
Sarah, let's dive into it, my friend, Akib, coming out of nowhere.
Look, and I think once again, he has proven, I think that you should have some trust in
what he is going to say here because he predicted the first one before it happened,
and that was the Jalen Waddle trade, and a day later or two days later, bang, it happened.
Now he's recently saying that the Broncos are going to make another big move, but didn't really
tease is an offense as a defense. I'm curious to see if there is anything to this. I am too.
I mean, Akib Talib went from snatching chains to snatching scoops out there, apparently. He's
the new Broncos insider. And at least somebody's willing to throw something out there. You know what?
I think that like you said, the last time he said something, it was kind of like, ooh, okay, that's,
you know, that's interesting. Like, you know, why would he say that? Or what would motivate him to say
that? Like, he's kind of putting his reputation out there by throwing this stuff out there.
right because he's on a pretty major show like he's on skit bailist show and he's a you know him and t j ward on
there so i mean i think that there's something to this i am very excited to see what it could be
cody because you and i talked about this the broncos roster is in a position to add impact players
this off season and to really get to that super bowl contender i guess they're already super bowl contenders
but maybe even like super bowl favorite status and that we don't really care about the hyperbole but i think
we do care about the fact that, hey, you say that by resigning 17 of your own free agents,
you're essentially saying, we believe this team is already good enough to win the Super Bowl.
So from my seat, I'm saying, okay, if it's good enough to win a Super Bowl, go make it that
much better to get over the top.
And I don't know, as theories have started to come in, I don't know that I've heard one
that I dislike at this point, Cody.
I mean, Brees Hall.
I mean, that was the rumor to start the off season.
Are we coming full circle on the Brees Hall thing?
we at least discuss it because he doesn't have a long-term deal from the New York Jets yet.
Maybe the Broncos want to pair him up with J.K. Dobbins.
Yeah, I'd be very curious.
And that's where my mind kind of went to first is, is this a running back move, right?
Because Sean Payton and George Payton have both talked about, even though they have ran it back with that room.
They re-sign J.K. Dobbins.
They publicly say that they love R.J. Harvey.
Now all of a sudden, they still say, you know, if this is a position and we could still upgrade in the NFL draft or we could
still add to this position room after the draft happens right before OTAs and minicamp.
There's something going on here behind the scenes.
I'm very curious about with Denver as they're eyeing this room.
What is the optics?
Like why is George and Sean saying, hey, we want to look right here at this position.
Okay.
If they're adamant on running back, I know there are some guys in this year's draft that you
and I've talked about that we both like.
But obviously with Denver's limited capital, considering they don't have a round one or around
three pick. They could move up, obviously, into round three with their fourth round picks or
they could take players with their fourth round picks and find some good quality players.
Those aren't necessarily guarantees, whereas I think we've seen Denver as of late,
Sean and George, they want to bring in some proven players. So you mentioned Breece Hall
is one of those options. That would not surprise me. I did say something a few weeks ago on
the other podcast that I do on the Orange Crush podcast that I just have the feeling. And I even
put it in the predominantly orange group.
chat that we got going on with our guys.
I put out there, said, hey, I wouldn't be surprised that the Broncos on, like,
during the NFL draft trade for Alvin Comera, right?
I kind of put that out there and I kind of said, hey, just something's telling me there
might be something here.
I wonder if it could be either of these names.
I think so.
I mean, the spidey senses are tingling, right?
You know what I mean?
And I like what you said at the beginning.
It kind of did feel when, when this rumor came about, I was thinking to myself immediately,
all right, either running back or tight end.
That's, that's kind of what.
the vibe or the impression that I got, not that Akib necessarily like hinted towards that by any means.
But you just kind of feel like that's where the Broncos, we've talked about it.
I mean, so many times on this show, running back, tight end, linebacker.
Those are the top needs now.
They were the top needs last year.
And I think, I mean, Cody, look, I'd be willing to say, hey, maybe RJ Harvey's part of a trade if it's for somebody like Breeze Hall.
Or if it's for somebody like Alvin Camara, maybe you look at like a late round.
pick swap going into the future.
So it's not really giving up much on this year's,
you know,
you're,
we know how George Payton loves to keep his draft picks as many as he possibly can,
right?
So he's rarely going to trade one without getting something back.
So would the Broncos give up a,
you know,
a sixth round next year for Alvin Camara and a seventh this year or something like that?
I mean,
you never know,
right?
So I think that that's kind of the,
that's where my mind went as well as I thought immediately of your,
you know,
idea of the Alvin Camara trade.
I think about, okay, well, the Jets franchise tagged, according to one report, I think it was
from CBS sports.
The Jets tagged him because they were afraid the Broncos were going to sign Priest Hall, right?
So it is something.
And everybody that's listening is probably wondering, okay, wait, let's just hold the phone
here for a second because regardless of what Akeeb Talib is saying, like, what are the
Broncos going to trade?
Because, I mean, I just threw out the name R.J. Harvey, the Broncos don't have a first
round pick. They don't have a third round pick.
So if they're going to make a trade, you're talking about one of two options here.
You're talking about dipping into next year's draft war chest or you're talking about
potentially dipping into your second round pick this year and not having any picks in the
first three rounds, right?
So unless, again, there's a pick swap.
So everybody that's out there listening and is wondering, okay, I, I'm here for whatever
Akeeb to leave is talking about, but what are the Broncos going to give up to get
something that's substantial enough that he would bring it up on his show with Skip Bayliss,
right? That's the thing that, okay, we're trying to fill out the Sudoku puzzle. We're trying to
make it all happen here. We're trying to figure out how to piece all these things together,
follow the breadcrumbs, read the tea leaves. I don't know. I don't know how to make it work.
I'm just interested because whatever he knows or whatever he was told, he thinks it was worth
bringing up on the show, which means you would have to think it's either a big name or the
Broncos are using at least some big capital to make a move here.
Yeah, and you mentioned trading RJ Harvey, Sarah, I would, I would hate that.
Even if the Broncos were going to get Alvin Camara, right, I don't want to trade away a guy
like RJ because here's the thing, Alvin is kind of on the back end of his career.
RJ is a young player who still has so much to learn and is proven to be that he could have
those Joker wings.
I mean, for him to, what was it, 12, 13 total touchdowns as a rookie, I think five receiving.
RJ showcased so much as a receiving threat.
Now, obviously, he's got to get better.
There were some drops last year.
That's obviously got to get better, but also he and Bo Nix got to get on the same page a little bit.
I would absolutely hate for Denver to part ways with a player like RJ.
Now, if you look at maybe some other positions, I mean, or maybe some other team needs,
like could the Broncos pair maybe a player on an expiring deal to the New York Jets?
plus maybe pick number 62, right?
And if it lands you,
Breece Hall and your running back room is
Breast, J.K. and RJ, that's great.
I mean, I think that means
RJ is going to have to take a back seat.
I don't necessarily like that, right?
So that's where, like, this whole thing is very weird.
Like, if Denver didn't go out and re-sign J.K. Dobbins,
I would say this is all on the table.
Because they re-sign J.K. Dobbins,
I'm looking at this and saying, like,
I just don't know if it's going to be a running back at this point.
And also, I wanted to,
get your thoughts on this.
And Broncos country chime in.
If it was a running back, Sarah, would that be like a needle mover in your opinion?
Like, would it be like, oh, my gosh, hey, we're excited to do another breaking news episode
of the show.
I just feel like running back probably wouldn't move the needle as much for me right now,
knowing how Sean uses his backs.
I think.
So Alvin Camara for a late round pick as depth.
And like you said, if he's coming in, you can't be necessarily saying, hey, RJ Harvey,
he's going to be the third running back or whatever.
I don't know if that would,
that's necessarily what that would mean.
But Alvin Camara for a late round pick,
I think would be a nice move for depth for the Broncos, for sure.
Now, I'm going to flip it back to you too,
because I would trade RJ Harvey to get Breece Hall.
I mean, I think they're the same age.
I think RJ might even be older than Breece Hall.
So I would,
I would definitely do that.
I mean, if it was up to me.
And because understanding too, like,
I think Brees Hall would come with an idea that he's going to sign a long-term contract,
right?
So right now,
RJ Harvey has three years on his deal and Brees is on the tag,
but you would probably give him a three,
four-year contract on top of that and maybe rip up the franchise tag or whatever the case
may be.
And for those also needing clarification on this,
Brees Hall does not require a multiple first round pick return in a trade.
Like if the Broncos and Jets would come together and agree a point,
upon a trade. It doesn't have to be the same as if the Broncos were to sign him to an offer
sheet and the Jets would say, we're not going to match that. We'll take your two first round picks.
They're not, those two things are different scenarios, right? So you can work out a trade with
the Jets for the player. You don't have to give up two first round picks because you're not signing
him to an offer sheet. So just for clarification of anybody who's like, hey, wait, I thought you had to
give up two first rounders for Brees Hall. No, that's not the case. But I would.
I mean, if it was, if it came push to shove, I would trade RJ Harvey to get Breece Hall.
Broncos country.
That will be our question of the day.
Would you do the same as Sarah?
Make sure you let us know here on today's episode of the show.

If Akeep Talib is talking about the Denver Broncos trading for a tight end,
there's a number of names that make a lot of sense.
Broncos country.
We're going to dive into those names and much more on today's episode of Locked on Broncos.

Cody,
I mean,
look,
this is going to be a fascinating development to watch unfold because I don't know what makes sense.
Like we said,
we're trying to kind of piece together everything with what the Broncos have to offer,
potentially in a trade or what they could be looking at,
because it's also important to clarify that a key to leave was saying,
hey,
the Broncos has something big or Skip Bayless was,
teasing him and saying, hey, you keep on telling me that the Broncos have another move coming.
And I'm still just sitting over here waiting for it to happen.
And he's like, maybe the draft, maybe at the draft, right?
So that kind of got everybody's gears turning of, okay, the timing.
We could be looking at the NFL draft, which is less than two weeks away at this point.
Man, we're getting close to the NFL draft.
So much fun.
10 days, baby.
Can't wait.
I can't wait.
So if it's a tight end that the Broncos try to trade for, maybe if that's what a key,
is alluding to here.
There are some names that could make a lot of sense out there
because a couple have been already floated out there in trade rumors this off
season.
Yeah, you look at, you know,
tight in being one of these positions right now,
Denver has Evan Ingram.
They have Adam Chopman.
They brought back.
And then they have Nate Adkins.
They have Caleb Loner.
It's not much like when you look at how this room is currently constructed,
it's the same exact room as last year,
no new additions.
And knowing that this was an area where the Broncos often
struggled to get the tight-end position involved in the passing game as much as they should have
and raising some questions, right? And so if you get the right player, what does that change
things for you? Well, now we know some new developments this off season have been. Davis
Webb will now be calling play. So there leaves this unknown variable to be discussed about
what does it tight-end position look like with Davis calling Sean's offense? Does it change from a
philosophical standpoint from who is used personnel-wise versus what Sean does? Is Sean giving him
that freedom? You look at some names that could be available.
I know you've been talking about Colquemette, Sam Leporta specifically is a couple of names.
Cole Comet, because of the emergence of Colston Loveland, you have to wonder,
a Chicago, a team that values having two tight ends, maybe something to keep an eye on here.
But Sam Leporta is the interesting one to me, Sarah.
And the reason I say that, and obviously he's a Joker, like Sean Payton himself has said,
Laporta is a Joker type of a player.
And when they had the game plan for not only him and Gibbs,
when they played a couple of years ago when Russell Wilson was still on the team,
That was the nightmare matchups that they were talking about in their meetings.
Laporta is obviously coming off of a, I think, back surgery, if I'm not mistaken.
John Morton was there for a year as the OC.
Now, obviously, things didn't go well for John there, but could the Broncos maybe look at maybe calling and picking up the phone for a guy like Sam Leporta,
considering where Detroit is currently at?
I'm curious to see how that might kind of play out here in the next 10 or so days.
That would be a fun one, wouldn't it?
I mean, he's got to be.
And once again, Sam Leport.
Why the heck would we be talking about trading him?
Don't the lions want to keep him?
Well, like you said, Cody, he's coming off the injury and also is entering a contract
year.
And we know that the Detroit Lions have just handed out a bunch of big money contracts to,
I mean, Jared Goff, Amunra, St. Brown, Pena, Sewell, Aidan Hutch.
So there's so many different guys that they're already paying.
And so would they sacrifice, you know, Sam Leporta in order to,
because they already traded David Montgomery, right?
So they're already kind of breaking up the band a little bit.
But if they're willing to give up an Iowa player, you know that I wouldn't say no.
I mean, Riley Moss certainly knows how good Sam LaPorte is.
Those two guys were on the same Iowa team.
Came out in the same draft class, matter of fact, back in 2023.
So then the Broncos passed on Sam LaPorte.
I believe they, maybe if they didn't pass, they didn't trade up to get him,
whatever you, whatever verbiage you want to use there.
But I would love to see that.
I would also love the idea of Kyle Pitts.
And I know that everybody, you know, there's going to be split opinions,
right because with Kyle Pitts it's like well Kyle Pitts doesn't block he's not an inline player
right but the Joker you know and again Joker Joker Joker I'm going to keep saying it because
that's what it's called he doesn't have to necessarily be a true inline blocker he's got to be a
difference maker in the past game at running back or tight end and Kyle Pitts is one of those guys
that shoot I think Florida that team and Kyle Pitts specifically on that team still gives all anybody
who coached against him nightmares
because he was basically a professional football player at the college level back in those times.
Like he was a ridiculous cheat code and he became that cheat code at the NFL level this past season for the Falcons.
Like one of the best seasons of his career, truly, truly outstanding production in the past game.
And they have a whole new regime in there.
So I like that idea as well.
And their quarterbacks are very interesting right now with obviously Michael Pennix coming off ACL surgery.
injury to a tagovaloa i almost said toa turn the ball over i did that's just that's rude on my
behalf so i apologize i just it's literally what popped into my head because i see it all the
time i see that name it is a different regime change they're not obviously with matt ryan
taking over as a is a top executive for that team and then obviously kirk cousins
him landing with the los vegas raiders like they've moved on from kirk even after they spent
all that money and they drafted a quarterback at the same exact year crazy to me
Kyle Pitts has even kind of been this name.
Even last year during the season was kind of like this name to watch at the deadline.
Nothing ever materialized for him.
I wouldn't be opposed to Denver adding a player like Pitts or a Leporta into the mix.
Colquomet, I feel like that's probably the only one I'd be a little split.
I think Colcomette's a very solid receiver.
But at this point, is he almost kind of like a more athletic version of Adam Troutman at this point?
I don't know, right?
Maybe that's just like misconstrued just off of going off the dome here.
I remember he did have a couple of big catches against the Broncos back in
2023 and he had a celebration where he, I think he swings a bat like he's going to hit a
home run.
And yeah, he did that twice against the Broncos in that 2023 matchup.
So maybe they have experience.
They know the player.
They've gone against him before.
To me, if we were talking about we were just highlighting in the last segment about all
the running back options that Denver could potentially make a trade for.
I feel like a trade for a tight end would probably.
make more sense for Denver right now than it would be maybe them going and trading for a running back
because instantly one of these names massively upgrades a room and the question is are you pairing this
player with Evan Ingram? And if so, then I'm very curious what the Broncos could do out of two
tight end sets because Sean himself last year said, I want to be able to run more multi-personnel sets
going forward. That would be a huge game changer. And it's hard. It's hard to have two really good
tight ends on your team. It's been a while since we've seen that in the end.
NFL, but I wouldn't be opposed to that, and I'm sure Broncos country wouldn't either.
If tight end is the move here that maybe the Broncos are going to trade for Broncos country,
how would you feel about a San Laporta, a Colquemette, or a Kyle Pitts?
Make sure you listen to hear on today's episode of the show.
But coming up next, could it keep me talking about a defensive trade here for the Broncos?
And if so, what would make sense?
We'll dive into that here in today's episode of the show.
Today's show is brought to you by our friends over there at Fanduil, the NBA playoffs.
they're here where every possession matters, every matchup is magnified, and every game can swing a series with some of the best players in the association.
And right now, Fandu is giving new customers a great way to get in on the action today.
And here's what I like about it.
You can bet just $5 and you can get $250 in bonus bets if your first bet wins.
The app makes it easy to follow the actual player stats, trends and matchups all in one place.
There is no load management during the playoffs.
And during the playoffs, that extra insight really matters when you're looking at stars,
you're looking at role players, and you're looking at the key moments and who shows up.
It just makes the entire playoff experience more engaging from start to finish.
So head to Fandull.com to get started.
Fandul, play your game.
Could the Broncos be looking to trade for some defensive help here ahead of the NFL draft
or during the NFL draft?
What is Akeb to leave talking about?
That is what the whole world.
That's what Broncos country specifically wants to know here in the dead time of the offseason.
This is the worst time.
here, Broncos country, because nothing's happening, but we appreciate you so much for still being
in every day or coming here because Sarah and I, we got you covered not only with the regular show,
but you get bonus episodes. So those of you who listen to us every day, make us your first listen.
We appreciate you so much. Thank you. And when the season picks up, it's going to be even more
explosive. We can't wait for all the stuff. We're going to be bringing your way. Thanks for rock with us here.
Sarah, defensive side of the ball here. That is another option. As you and I were kind of talking about
the Akim Taleb clip that had came out over the weekend, you and I were going back and forth.
All right, running back, tight end.
Wide receiver doesn't necessarily make sense right now,
considering where Denver is at.
Could Denver maybe look to the defensive side of the ball?
Let's talk about that.
But first, your thought on maybe another playmaker, too,
because I've seen some people talk about that as if Denver would package some of their receivers
to add even a bigger fish, which, I mean, I could see it happen.
I just don't see the Broncos doing that right now.
It just doesn't make sense to me.
Yeah, I don't think so.
I mean, unless they really were like, you know,
we know we're going to be moving on from Cortland Sutton after this season because of his contract and
those sorts of things.
I mean, I just,
I don't,
that's one where,
you know,
even as I kind of start to try to piece things together and dream it up and put
on the tinfoil hat,
I just can't even think of like,
what AJ Brown is that the name that's,
I don't even know what receiver names are even getting thrown out out there.
So maybe some folks can let us know in the comments if they have any ideas there.
If there's something that you think really makes a lot of sense at receiver,
but yeah,
I'm with you.
I don't think so.
I think defensively, obviously the Broncos, one of the biggest losses this offseason is, you know,
John Franklin Myers and what he brought to the table with his 14 and a half sacks over the last two seasons.
He was top 25 this past year in terms of quarterback hits from the interior defensive line.
So that's a big loss for your defense.
And you have in Yoma Uwazerike, one year left on his deal, and then you have Savian Jones.
That gets the gears turning at least a little bit of what, you know,
know the Broncos could look at defensively.
If it's a defensive lineman, I mean, I know Dexter Lawrence just requested a trade.
And I remember even hearing earlier this offseason, Cody, that there was some,
there was some stuff about Jalen Carter.
I don't know how or where that went or if it was debunked as like totally false or,
but at the same time, I mean, I know he's entering a contract here.
And, you know, he'd be spitting on quarterbacks out here.
So I mean, I don't know if the Eagles want to keep him.
I don't know if that's the type of guy that Broncos.
I was want to add to their team.
But those are two names that I at least thought of.
I mean, what are your thoughts here?
Do you think it would be something other than a defensive lineman?
Or do you, are you kind of in alignment with me?
You think that's kind of the direction your brain goes?
I feel like if it was defense,
it would have to be a defensive lineman or someone who plays even now,
like even with the position move for Jonah Ellis to offball linebacker,
does it open up the Broncos being able to carry a fifth pass rusher,
a veteran, right?
like a Von Miller, right?
You know, you mentioned defensive line.
We've talked about Cam Jordan a ton here.
Cam is obviously a guy that I would like,
but Denver wouldn't have to make a trade for him.
They could sign him because he's essentially a free agent.
Sexy Dexy, obviously big Dexter Lawrence down there with the New York Giants.
He would be an intriguing name, but the question is,
is why would the Broncos do that move right now when they have DJ Jones,
Malcolm Roach, they have both of these guys who are specifically playing defensive tackle?
Dexter Lawrence is 6-4-300.
40 pounds. He's not going to be playing a five technique consistently. So that's where I kind of
like, all right, probably not Dexter Lawrence in terms of how my antennas are kind of spiraling here.
But I could see it being a scenario of Cam Jordan, Von Miller. I mean, that's really it right now.
Defensively, you don't really have, I don't even think there's any big names out there that
are necessarily available right now that you're going to want to go and get. But then again, we didn't
expect the Broncos to go out there and trade for John Franklin, my.
a few years ago in the NFL draft either.
And we're like, holy moly, Denver just got a complete still here.
I don't know who that is right now or if that guy's available.
But the only two defensive names that I could think of would be Vaughn and would be obviously
Cam Jordan.
And here's where it goes into my thought process.
Because George Payton said at the NFL competent, at the NFL owner's meetings,
said you always want to invest in the trenches on offense and defense.
Could they maybe even trade for an offensive line?
Could the trenches really be the target here?
Maybe.
And that opens up a whole other can of worms too, because who would that be?
I mean, would it be a potential starting tackle for the future?
Would they trade Ben Powers to get somebody else in that spot?
Or that kind of leads to this idea?
I mean, if it's an offensive lineman, is it trading players to get capital for the draft
and then taking an offensive lineman earlier than maybe is expected?
because that was the one thing that as I listened to the clip and everybody else who's heard
it can kind of tell me if you agree with me if you disagree with me.
I know that Talib said that he thinks it could happen at the draft,
but I don't know.
The way that he said it,
I kind of was like,
well,
it doesn't sound like he's talking about trading up in the draft because why would you,
I guess why would you not specify that it was at the draft?
But to imply that,
you know,
you have to wait for the draft for it to happen or that it was going to happen at the draft.
I don't know.
I just,
you listen to it and you make your determination.
I just didn't think he was.
talking like, well, the Broncos may trade up.
Like, why not just say that, you know, or I don't know.
So I just think that there's a chance that maybe, yes, players being parlayed for
picks in order to make whatever happen, happens makes a lot of sense to me because we know
the Broncos have an abundance of offensive linemen.
We know they have an abundance of cornerbacks.
We know they have an abundance of wide receivers right now.
Those are really the only position groups that I would say, or maybe quarterback, maybe
Jared Stidham is a trade piece, but I don't know what he is really worth. I mean, is
Jared Stidham worth more than the, you know, mid to late day three pick being that he's 30 years
old, last year of his deal, one start in the last three years. I just don't know. So yeah,
I, that's the thing that I don't know, Cody. I'm trying to piece this all together. I'm having as
much fun, you know, coming up with these theories and ideas as anyone else. So this is where I can't
wait to hear what the listeners have to say as well to let's get the creative.
juice is flow in here. There's nothing's off the table. I expect you at some point this week in your
backdrop right there to have like a pin board with all the pins and sticky notes and like a line of
evidence trying to connect. Where is Akeeb to leave going here? And here's the thing too. I don't think
this is coming from the Broncos wherever Akeep Taleb is getting this from. I think Akib's got some
really good connections in the agency world. But also he trains pro players as well. He does a lot of
work with pro players. So I imagine there are some conversations that are happening,
it'd be, you know, from players that maybe are hearing stuff from their agents and they're
giving that information to a Kib or vice versa. Like the agents are given that to a Kib,
but there are people out there pretending as if the Broncos are giving them info saying they're
going to be doing this. Folks, those people aren't telling you the truth. That is not how George
or Sean work. If that were the case, if that's what was actually happening, George and Sean would be
firing people in that building because they don't want leaks. I
I can tell you that with 100% certainty, having been around the billing, they don't want leaks.
Nothing gets out.
And they have a good process in place to foolproof that if something gets out, they know exactly how to trace it back to who.
So stop following these burner accounts on Twitter for that.
I'm just curious to see what this move is going to be.
Now, I think when you're in the position that Denver's at right now, Sarah, 73 players on your roster,
71 of them were on your roster at some former capacity last season.
You could easily part ways or maybe some players because of the strength that.
you don't have a lot of holes right now.
Like that's where people are trying to nitpick and poke holes of the Broncos.
They're like, well, maybe their critique is that they don't have a lot of holes right now, right?
Maybe that's it.
Maybe that's what the Broncos used to their advantage here during the NFL draft or beforehand.
Because in these 10 days, Sarah, I can't imagine a lot changing here for Denver to where they're going to be doing something before the NFL draft.
They have previously in the past.
Obviously, they've gotten players like Teddy Bridgewater a day before the draft.
and that changed the idea.
Like, is Denver going to draft a quarterback with the ninth overall pick?
No, they went with corner with Pat Sourtan.
It doesn't, I don't know.
This is a very, very interesting time for the waters to be really muddy and murky right now,
because we can't see to the bottom.
And maybe that's a good thing.
Yeah, I think it is.
I think it adds to the, at least right now, like you said,
this is the, this is kind of the deadest zone of the offseason, right?
Because the Broncos haven't added hardly any.
buddy and then soon we'll have the whole draft we'll have undrafted players and whatever they do after
the draft and we can talk about all of the fallout of whatever they actually do during the draft but
unless the broncos make a move they're which they're not going to do like unless it's a trade
like they're not giving up at this point they're what you said 10 days away or so roughly two weeks
away as we're recording this or two weeks away from getting that fourth round compensatory pick for
John Franklin Myers locked in.
So for the next two weeks, you know, before the draft, there's nothing's going to happen
unless they trade for somebody, right?
So yeah, we're not going to sit here.
We're not going to have really any signings.
We're going to have the draft to talk about trades are really the only thing that could
happen.
So that's why I kind of am thinking.
And like you mentioned at the show open, Akib called the Jalen Waddle move days before
it happened or a day before it happened.
It was crazy.
And we everybody, it was recent enough that everybody looked at,
back, like collectively they look back.
They're like, wait, didn't Akim Tali, just say they're going to get an explosive
playmaker for the offense just yesterday or whatever it was?
I mean, this is what gets me excited because what does he know?
And I mean, he's obviously he's keeping a lid on it for the most part.
He hasn't told anybody else, but that there's a move.
And that's what I, I mean, I can't wait to find out.
And I hope he's proven right again, Cody, because then every time he speaks now,
everybody's going to be like, wait, what is Akeep Taleb talking about?
Yeah, we know it's not.
going to be Michael Crabtree, but what is he talking about these days?
Yeah, no, Akiva has proven so far to trust him.
And we're going to lean on those a little bit further as the NFL draft does approach.
And look, Broncos country, the draft is coming up.
We're going to have you covered every step of the way here.
We got some mock drafts coming out your way.
But Sarah and I, we're going to begin a very fun series where we take a look at the state
of the Broncos depth going into the draft, taking a look at needs, which players could
be available so much more and whether or not that would boost the Broncos depth to where
it needs to be based on who they pick in this year's draft.
So much of that coming your way here through the next couple of weeks here on lockdown
Broncos.
We'll see you tomorrow for a brand new episode of the show.
