A couple of AFC powerhouses trying to climb to the top of their divisions and the top of the AFC.
It's a playoff run. Broncos, Jaguars, crossover Thursday.
You are locked on NFL crossover.
Part of the Locked on podcast network.
Your team every day.
It's exactly what these two fan bases wanted at the beginning of the year, a high stakes game in December.
Welcome in everybody.
Locked on Broncos, locked on Jaguars.
It is crossover Thursday.
My name is Sayre Bedinger.
I'm the co-host of Locked on Broncos.
He's Tony Wiggins, host of Locked on Jaguars.
And we got a lot to break down for this game.
Of course, huge stakes in the Mile High City in week 16.
It's what we all wanted.
Got the Denver Broncos defense trying to slow down one of the hottest offenses in the NFL.
And maybe, maybe we're going to see one of these two quarterbacks,
Bo Nicks or Trevor Lawrence put on the old Superman cape this weekend.
We're going to break it all down today.
Again, want to say thank you to every single one of you that makes Locked on Broncos,
locked on Jaguars, your first listen of the day every single day.
And crossover Thursday is presented by prize picks.
Download the Price Picks app today and use code Lockdown NFL to get $50 in lineups
after you play your first $5 lineup.
Tony, what an exciting time for both of these fan bases.
Of course, the Broncos, they began there rebuild a couple of years ago.
The Jaguars, they reset this past off season.
Both of these teams are back where they belong, though.
That's the way I see it.
The Jaguars and Broncos fighting for their division titles here as we get into the home stretch of the season.
There's just something right about these.
Maybe it's because I'm a 90s kid,
but I feel like there's something that's just right about the Broncos and the Jaguars being the thick of it here at the end of the season.
Yeah, it is, man.
And people don't understand the history.
Like, people think the Jaguars have been in football purgatory forever.
They've actually been to two-a-reve.
championship in the last 25.
There's a lot of teams that can't say that, right?
And they lost both of them to the Patriots.
Yeah, those Patriots, the dynasty, New England Patriots.
And they also lost a divisional game to the Patriots.
One of those years, though, they came to Denver with Jimmy Smith and Mark Ronell and Tony
Bacellet, who was our EVP.
And they upset John L.A.
and Terrell Davis on their way to the A.N.C.
championship.
earlier than expected to see if and where we might meet again,
but the next time it'll be when or go home,
win or go, keep going and then lose or go home.
Yeah, that's kind of what Cody and I have been talking about this week.
I locked on Broncos is the fact that, okay,
you've got a really high stakes game here.
The players are going to be juiced.
The coaches are going to be juiced.
But you can kind of feel as well, just the anticipation going in,
like both of these teams realize, hey, we've got bigger games ahead.
that doesn't mean they're going to overlook this one.
What I mean by that is I think that both of these teams do understand that a future rematch
could be looming.
I mean, last week when I sat down with Peter locked on Packers, we were talking about,
is this a Super Bowl preview?
What about Broncos Jags?
Is this a AFC championship preview?
I mean, we want to talk high stakes games.
These two teams, like you said, they may not be, this may not be the last time they
play each other this season.
No, the Jags are 10 and 4.
They went out.
They go 13 and 4.
That means if they went out, Denver at least loses at least one more game, right?
And then they would need New England to lose one, and all three of them end up 13 and four.
And then from that point with these playoffs scenarios and tiebreakers, I have no idea what it would be.
I would suspect that we, since we beat Denver head to head it go.
But when there's a three-way tie, I don't know how that works.
But I'll tell you this, they're trending.
Everyone's trending to at least, at least the two teams,
that we're talking about to play a home playoff game.
And that's critical and that's very, very important.
And it's just a changing of the guard.
The top three seeds are teams that like the Patriots are used to be in there.
But nobody expected them to be there when they picked number four last year.
And the Jaguars went five and moved up to number two.
Nobody expected those two teams to be there.
And then a lot of people still thought that Denver was a fluke from the year before.
But I always, I never think the teams that are built with defense.
and their supposed weakness is their quarterback,
but the strength of the team is the fact that you've got to play calling head coach.
So whatever you think the weakness is with them, it is on him.
The owners is on him to figure it out,
but he ain't worried about his defense at all because Vance Joseph has that cover.
But the same thing can be said about the Jaguars on Anthony Campanile and Liam Coy.
It's done in a different way.
I think you guys really get after the quarterback and affect the quarterback.
The Jaguars can be disruptive in that way.
but the Jaguars are number one against the run.
And both of these teams have been a master of closing people out and winning close games.
So we'll see who bends and who breaks this weekend in Denver.
I'm glad you brought up the coaching in terms of the play callers on offense and defense.
I think that when you have the right person to stir the drink,
that is exactly what I think the Broncos and Jaguars have been missing.
I think when George Payton was hired as the general manager of Denver Broncos,
goes back in 2021.
He called the team a sleeping giant.
And I think you could say the same about what James Gladstone and Liam Cohen inherited this
year is I remember the team that went to Kansas City in the playoffs and almost beat Kansas
City.
We were all big Jacksonville Jaguars fans back then in Denver.
But I think that these two teams are kind of indicative of the fact that, hey, you get the
right head coach in place.
You get the right person to, you know, be the one to stir the drink, the straw that
stirs the drink, that can really wake up the sleeping giant.
We're seeing that with these two teams, especially here late in the season, two teams
that are really great at closing out games.
Is that what you see?
Obviously, the biggest storylines for these teams is there's playoff stakes.
This is a potential future playoff matchup.
But within those storylines, what is that do you think for the Jaguars going into Denver?
Well, to me, what it is, the season that you were talking about was two years ago in
2023 when the Jags made a magical run.
First of all, y'all should have been happy twice because we beat, we were down 27-0-0
and came back and beat the charges and y'all don't like the media.
And then they were really, it was a one-score game and Trevor threw a pick and then
they got down by two.
And then he got close again and had the ball late trying to score again against the chiefs.
And it did not work out.
But similar to what the Washington commanders went through this year, the Jaguars then came
out the next year we're eight and three and then all hell broke loose and they ended up nine and eight
and it is because you kind of knew that it was a little bit of smoking mirrors now I don't think it's
that the same place you guys were last year when you could tell that that thing had it had you had tangible
evidence that no we have gotten to a point where we have arrived where we expect to be competitive
each and every week and give ourselves a shot and it's going to stretch out for a while because you're doing it
with a lot of young players,
and you're doing it with a culture changer in Sean Payton.
That's exactly what has happened here.
I think the fortune for both of these teams,
you guys have one fortune.
One fortune is Vance Joseph, much like the defense coordinator
in Kansas City, his name is, his name is Staggolo.
He's had a shot to be a head coaching candidate,
and I don't think nobody's in a rush to give him one.
And now he's just going to run that defense.
And he's one of the best at it,
Sort of like Vic Fangium, right?
And you get a chance to have continuity because people might not hire Vance Joseph anytime soon
because that's what usually happens.
The Jaguars, on the other hand, they got Anthony Campanile, who is a hot name amongst a lot
of coaching jobs, especially in college.
But hopefully all those get filled and here I have to worry about it.
You want that continuity from year after year just to be able to give yourself a shot.
The way the Eagles have done for a long time, the way the chiefs did before they started winning,
the way the coach did under Tony Dudgy.
And you know the way y'all did under Kubiak and Shanahan.
You want to always have a shot.
Baltimore, always hanging around, always with a shot.
And then it just depends on injuries and health and all of those things.
And I think the Jaguars in a good spot, despite the fact that Travis Hunter won't play again
until next season, they're in a real good spot for the rest of the team.
And I know Broncos country is, you know, a lot of Broncos country is obviously a big CU
Buffs fans and they, you know, would love Travis Hunter.
Absolutely love Travis.
And we're looking forward to seeing him back, although I don't think anybody's
disappointed that he's not playing in this game if you're a Broncos fan because he is
just a truly great playmaker.
We're sad to see him out, though, for this season.
But that doesn't mean there's not playmakers galore for this game.
You know, it's interesting, Tony.
We've got to break down in the next segment of the show is the fact that we've got a little
bit of maybe revenge angles, maybe, you know, Evan Ingram going, going up against
his old team. Obviously, Tim Patrick going up against his old team. Plus, you've got other playmakers
on both sides of the ball here. Travis E.T.N. playing as well as just about any running back in the
NFL right now. Cortland Sutton coming off his biggest game of the season. We're going to be
breaking down some of the individual matchups within this game that are coming up here in week 16,
a potential playoff matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This episode is brought to you by prize picks. The holiday season is one of the best time.
for sports with bowl games, big basketball matchups, playoff pushes. It's all happening at once.
And while we're all making choices every day, one of the most fun places to make the right call
is prize picks. Prize picks is the easiest way to get in on daily fantasy. Just pick more or less
on at least two player projections, lock in your lineup, and you're in the game. It's simple,
it's fast, and it's available in 45 states, including California, Texas, Florida, and
Georgia. Price picks has actually added an extra layer of excitement to the holiday sports schedule.
You can create a lineup in less than a minute and the app makes the whole process smooth and
intuitive. You can choose from a wide range of unique stats, fantasy score, field goals attempted,
free throws made, turnovers. If you're watching Broncos, Jaguars, if you want to pick one of these
offensive weapons, Bo Nicks, Trevor Lawrence, Travis ETN, maybe Cortland Sutton,
check out all that stuff within the prize picks app and use their stacks feature,
which lets you choose the same player up to three times in one lineup.
So download the prize picks app today and use code locked on NFL to get $50 in
lineups after you play your first $5 lineup.
That's code locked on NFL to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup.
Price picks, it's good to be right.
The playmaker's got to be making plays out there in the Mile High City for either the Denver
Broncos or the Jacksonville Jaguars to come away with wins this weekend.
Travis E.T.N.
he's one of the hottest backs in the NFL.
Bo Nix, he's been on a heater.
Obviously, Trevor Lawrence, the quarterback of the Jaguars, he was on a heater after that
Jetscape. My goodness, these two teams, I don't think the over-under is set high enough for this
game, Tony.
At this point, I think that this could be a little bit of a shootout, although both of these
defenses at times have proven as well that they can hold it down as well.
So it's going to be a lot of fun.
Once again, I want to say thank you to all of you everyday listeners of locked on
Broncos and locked on Jaguars.
And if you haven't done so already,
want to invite you to join the Everyday or All Access Club
where you're going to get bonus content, all 22 clips.
You get a discount on locked on merge,
all sorts of bonus content for you if you sign up.
So there's going to be a link in the show notes for you to do that today.
And we really appreciate you for considering that.
Tony, let's talk about these matchups.
I'm interested from your perspective, too,
because of course, I think weekly when we go through the crossovers,
you and I are getting a late season crossover.
And over time, a lot of similar things, you know,
come up when the Broncos are playing against anybody.
Who's matching up against PS2, right?
And I think that's going to be a big one for this game, of course.
But the Jaguars, they don't just have one weapon that their offense flows through.
No, they don't.
And they're all a little bit different.
But I would be remiss if I did not give a special shout out and some special attention
to Jacobi Myers because he hasn't even been here that long.
He got here at the trade deadline, man, and he is totally comfortable.
You'd be hard pressed to find five receivers that have been more effective since the trade deadlines than Jacobi Myers has been.
And he's really stabilized the Jaguar's receiving court.
Brian Thomas Jr. was struggling earlier this year with drops, learning the new offense and catching the ball in stride while learning that new offense.
And then he got a little bit of the yips where, okay, he's trying too hard to make sure he catches everything instead of just being instinctive.
And then he got banged up a little bit, so he missed a few weeks.
And then Parker Washington and Tim Patrick stepped in.
And then they were missing the tight end,
Britain Strange, who is the replacement for Evan Ingram.
Well, they got them all back.
And what you've seen with that offense with Jacobi Myers and Parker Washington,
and Brian Thomas Jr. looking like himself,
the offensive line has gotten back healthy.
And then they were incorporating Travis E.T.N.
and two rookie running backs.
And voila, Trevor Lawrence is.
looking like a top three, top four quarterback over the last couple of months.
And he's getting more comfortable, taking more ownership in the things that Liam
Cohen is asking him to do.
And when you mentioned Travis Hunter, one of the byproducts of, and I wouldn't call it
fortunate, it's never fortunate that someone's hurt, but this is a new coaching staff,
new GM, and they did some groundbreaking stuff when they traded for Travis.
And then they were trying to ingratiate him as a two-way player and trying to teach
everyone in the new system.
And even though they were four and one, Travis
wasn't putting up those numbers. And a lot of those senior
buff fans were all in our mention saying
they don't know what they're doing. They don't know what they're doing.
The byproduct of him being injured
is this.
People realize now this is
a really good football operation
without him.
There was this thought that Travis was
coming to a piss poor organization
to save it while
they were trying to onboard
and learn and teach and change the culture.
So when you are able to, because of injury,
be able to split that up and fragment it,
you now see that Travis is no longer when he comes back next year.
He's not coming to save anything.
He's coming back to a team that could potentially be a top three team in the conference.
So now the outlook starts to change.
Like he looks like cherry on,
he looks like a cherry on top of an ice cream Sunday.
So sometimes you get questions answered.
when unfortunate things happen.
And it also gives him a chance
to look at this team and go,
that's what I'm being added to.
Not all of the years and years and years
of football purgatory that you've heard
the Jaguars are about.
So you can never say you're glad
somebody got injured.
Never that. Because he's a great kid also.
But injuries are a mess, right?
Okay, well now you got a blessing in it
where you had to get next man up
regroup and now they're starting to see what all of these guys are as opposed to everybody
just micromanaging and trying to tell Liam Cohen that he needs to call coach prime and figure
out how to use somebody. All of that stuff kind of took on a life of its own. It just feels good
to know that this is a competent football operation that Travis has been brought into. Therefore,
we have a different outlook on what it's going to be like in the future. And that's why I'm so
optimistic about that future. I think that's really well said and it's it's a great point too.
And speaking of questions being answered, I've got to shout you out for a question that you
asked earlier this year to Travis himself when you said, hey, if Travis Hunter's covering Travis
Hunter, you know, what's going to happen? You know, Travis Hunter wins, right? That's what happens.
That's what he said. He said Travis Hunter comes down with the ball. So all of that stuff is good.
But at the end of the day, it comes down to blocking and tackling. As you know, as well as I do,
it takes a total team effort.
When Patrick Surtain went down, they buckled down, didn't they?
And other guys stepped up.
He's the best player on the team, in my opinion.
So this is what has to happen.
This is how you win a long term and have sustained effort in the NFL
that puts you in the playoff picture year after year.
It really is.
And like you mentioned, it takes the whole team.
And we saw that this past weekend as Bo Nix through four touchdown passes
to four different receivers.
Michael Bandy coming up off the practice squad,
making plays.
Little Jordan Humphrey playing with the Giants earlier this season.
He made a great touchdown catch.
Cortland Sutton, Troy Franklin.
I think the Broncos really feel over the last month plus that they've hit a stride
in terms of their offensive weaponry as well figuring things out.
Marvin Mims got a little bit more involved this past week.
It's been sporadic with Evan Ingram, as we kind of allude to the potential revenge game
angle there.
He only has three catches over the last two games.
But we did see against the Washington commanders what can happen when he gets featured
in this offense. He's still very explosive. He's got great hands. In fact, we saw against the Packers,
he only needed one hand to kind of make a game changing play. It was only catch of the game,
but it was a one-handed grab that set the Broncos up for a fourth and short that they ended up
converting, scoring a touchdown later on the drive. So you've got playmakers on both sides of the ball here.
Defensively, the Broncos do feel like they match up well with any team that can bring it. I mean,
we saw it with the Packers, and we talked about it last week. Maybe the deepest receiver core in the league,
Well, the Jaguars, they're not going to be far behind that.
That's why you're thankful to have a healthy Pat Sartan.
Riley Moss played a phenomenal game against the Green Bay Packers.
Jake won Macmillan in the slot.
Obviously, Jadae Baron the rookie.
The one concern right now is the injury to safety Brandon Jones,
who just went on injured reserve.
His absence is going to be a factor,
especially as the Jags try to attack downfield in this one.
But here's the matchup, Tony, that I think is going to be just must-see.
During the game, after the game on all 22,
Drey Greenlaw just played his highest percentage of snaps of the entire season against the Packers.
And he was, I know Josh Jacobs caught the ball.
I don't know if you saw that touchdown catch that Josh Jacobs had.
I did.
But it was perfect coverage by Drey Greenlaw.
We've seen the Jaguars trying to, and not just trying, succeeding at getting Travis ETN,
the ball out of the backfield as a receiver.
Him versus Drey Greenlaw in this game must see TV.
It is must-see TV.
And it's going to be imperative that, what I say, iced down, son.
Travis is going to have to ice down because they're down and running back,
their back of running back, Basial Tutin is not going to play.
So I don't think he will anyway.
So that's going to hurt him.
But Le Quentin Allen is a very, very good player.
And it's probably their best blocker and pass protection.
But ETS has been outstanding.
Playing on his 50-year option, he has been very Alvin Kamar-like in the passing game.
but in the running game, he's played very, very well, too.
You know, maybe I don't put him up there with Jamir Gibbs
or I don't put him up there with Bejohn Robinson,
but he's in that category.
That's the type of player he is.
He doesn't fumble if he sees a crease.
The thing that I really like that he does is he's getting that body lean
and he's not trying to make everything a home run.
If there's three, he gets three and some change.
You get three and some change three times, that's a first down.
The Jaguars have been able to get first downs.
limit people just teeing off on Trevor Lawrence.
At some point, they were giving up, like, I think, 18, 19 sacks over a three-game period.
Well, they've corrected that.
So now it's just a matter of going out and proving it week after week, and we'll see what's up.
I got to confess, though, and this is going to lead us right in the segment three.
I said a lot on NFL last year that Sean Payton was going to mess around and get himself fired,
messing around with Bow Nix.
And I have been apologizing for that every time.
I use a Locked-on Broncos clip on Locked on NFL in the barbershop, I remind people that I said
that isn't that refreshing in our business with somebody actually admits that they were wrong about
somebody?
Man, that's music to my ears and to many in Broncos country, Tony, to have you setting that example
of, you know what, hey, I was wrong about Bo Nix.
There's a lot more people out there that need to say that.
And especially going into this game, we're seeing Bo Nix come off of maybe his best game,
Trevor Lawrence maybe coming off of his best game, those quarterbacks both playing well,
and I teased it earlier, but those two quarterbacks putting on the old Superman Cape in a game
with playoff stakes, with division stakes, with seeding stakes in the AFC playoff race.
Maybe that's going to be the key to victory here in week 16.
We're going to talk all about it on today's crossover Thursday edition, Locked on Broncos,
locked on Jaguars.
Both these quarterbacks in week 16 absolutely have to put on the Superman Cape Broncos country
and Jaguars fans, but which one is it going to be?
I mean, these two guys, it's going to take a huge effort, I think, from both of these
defenses to stop these quarterbacks, to figure out a way to cover these receivers.
The chess match within the chess match is real.
We're going to break down keys to victory on today's crossover Thursday edition,
Locktown Broncos, Lockdown Jaguars.
Once again, thank you to all of you every dayers out there that make us part of your day,
your first listen of the day every single day.
Tony, let's have it, man.
Let's have the keys to victory, obviously, this week.
And for the Jaguars to come away from the Mile High City where nobody that's come in over the last 12 games dating back to last season has been able to win.
What do the Jaguars have to do to be the first in quite some time?
I've adopted this mantra since they blew a 19-point lead to the Houston, Texas in the fourth quarter.
And that was their last loss.
I've been saying me versus me.
As long as the Jaguars look in the mirror
and they put the best version of themselves on that field,
I think they'll be fine.
In fact, I actually think they're going to win the game.
And that's just me,
knowing where they are as an organization
and understanding that they didn't necessarily break Trevor Lawrence down.
They actually put more on him.
But it came down to pre-snap stuff
And then it came down to just trusting your eyes and then trusting your ability.
Liam Cohen was a quarterback at a small school, man, and I'm sure he got this job saying,
if I had that arm, if I had that size.
And he just told Trevor three words.
Let it rip.
Just let it rip, dude.
Trust yourself.
And now Trevor is starting to trust his eyes and he's trusting what he's seen.
Third and six, they get seven.
Third and eight, they get nine.
Third and two, they might get 30.
You absolutely watch them and you think they're going to convert.
It took a lot of converting fans and conversion to me to get to the point where I didn't get the third down hoping and wishing they make it.
I'm surprised when they don't now.
So the difference between these two quarterbacks is I think most people want Bowdox to play within himself.
And it's okay to be Clark Kent.
And I've been saying Trevor should be Clark Kent
and just be Superman every now and then.
Don't try to be Superman the entire game.
You don't have to live up to the ghost of Patrick Mahomes
and Cam Newton and all of these people.
You know, Tom Brady, before he threw for all of those yards
with Randy Moss, you know, they never won a Super Bowl doing that.
Every time they won those first three Super Bowls,
they were a running team.
He was a game manager.
So he's a six-foot-six version of Brock Purdy.
That's what he was.
And then he kept doing it, and then he became the goat.
So just play within yourself.
But the difference with Trevor and Bo Nix is you're going to lean.
With Bo, I think you lean towards his moxie and the fact that he's a gamer.
Like he might be the first player you pick if y'all played kickball or hopscocks.
He's just that type of guy, right?
With Trevor, it's like, oh, no, he got that big arm.
God blessed you with that big arm and that six six frame for a reason.
You let that thing go.
You don't go, you don't fall back on being no gamer.
You fall back on, I got something you ain't got, and it's right here.
So he's going to try.
He's going to try Sertainly.
Got caught now and got caught on a little crosswood, Stingley.
But Trevor, unlike other quarterbacks, he is going to try, no matter who is out there.
He's going to his number one receiver.
It's up of you to make a play on the ball, and I love that.
I do too.
I think that's been fun to watch and his evolution as a player, you know, tons of pressure
on the guy from back when he was still in high school, right?
I still remember that.
People talking about him as a future number one pick before he even got to Clemson.
So the fact that he's been able to get to the point that he's at today is rather impressive.
I think from the Broncos side of things, the key to victory in this game is going to be your defense
playing exactly like it did in the second half against the Packers.
Figure out a way to do that from the jump.
Get inside the head of that quarterback who just accounted for what six touchdowns this past week
or whatever it was.
I mean, just throwing it all over the yard to all different guys and making plays,
however he needed to do so, leading the team and rushing.
Go out there as a defense and make a statement early in this game.
Get the crowd into this game early on.
And that's why I say I think Bo Nix needs to put on that cape is because I feel like
from the jump of this game, he has to get his team out to a lead to allow the defense to
play to its strengths, getting after the quarterback, being aggressive with the blitz package,
those corners to play press man coverage, be aggressive on the football when it's in the air.
That's up to Bo Nix to allow them to do that, right?
Because if you get down, man, we saw it.
Josh Jacobs, 40-yard touchdown run.
And I know the Broncos came back to win the game, but you do have to make those major adjustments when you get down by seven points, nine points, 13 points, whatever it is.
So you want to allow that defense to play its game early on.
Keep that cape on if you're Bo Nix and make sure that you're making all the plays in
need to be made. Get out of the pressure on third down. Extend those drives. Do what needs to be done
to make the plays and allow your defense to pinneteers back right from the jump. Yeah, I think you're
spot on, you know, me versus me, just like you just basically describe what I said. Just be the best
version of yourself. I think we're going to get a bomb burner of a game. I think the first team
27 wins. That's just the way I'm going to, even though with both defenses. I'll challenge you
with this, though. I want you to watch something. People look at the Jaguars and they're not on national
on TV a lot. I think you'll be
astounded how good, Trayvon Walker,
Josh Allen, FOIA
Lulac, Jordan Lewis.
I just think you're going to
see him in Devin Lloyd. He was the
player of the month, defensive player of the month for the whole
league. I'm telling you, you're going
to be blown away defensively
how good this team is, and I think
he's going to send a statement to the rest of the league
that both of these teams are going to be
formidable. And we got new sheriffs in town,
maybe, Drake May and Bo Nix and
Trevor Lawrence and not the old
usual names and how do y'all feel knowing that not that mahomes is hurt but how y'all feel knowing
that kansas city they brought the head in a bag you want it proof there there it is right here
they're done that's it that i mean we celebrated it to a significant extent when the houston texans
i think it was they beat them and it officially like mathematically eliminated them from playoff
from the the afc west title so we knew that it was going to be somebody other than
the chiefs. And that was what we're, we're reveling in this back in 2020. Everybody's like,
why did Sean Payton take this job in the same division as Mahomes and same division as Herbert,
right? Why would he take this job? Why would he come back to go coaching the AFC West?
Russell Wilson, he's passed his prime. He's got a 90 million dead cap hit. All those sorts of
things, you know, like those those are all there. They're all embedded in our brains, in the back
of our minds in the file cabinet of what people said to doubt this team. And the Broncos,
it starts from the ownership on down, ownership getting aggressive and going after Sean
Peyton and bringing in somebody who believe that he could turn the ship around. It's exactly what
I think both of these franchises needed is, like I said, that right person to be the straw to stir
the drink. And for the Broncos, that is Sean Payton. He's the culture creator of this organization
right now, other than the ownership group, obviously. But he's been,
exactly as you would have hoped for a coach that you traded a first and second round pick for.
Yeah, man.
You know, I don't think people realize, I know you've probably been around, Sean.
I've interviewed him here in Jacksonville before.
Look, man, I heard people say, why would any coach go to the SEC knowing they got to play Nick Sabre?
Dudes ain't yoke like that, man.
They don't care none about these guys.
I'm telling you, to get to that level, you actually think you would.
are the man. So you know why Sean Payton took the job because of what he's doing right now.
That's why he took it. So we need to just start saying people are just a little bit more
confident and don't think through the same prison that we do. We got the right coach and I'm glad
that we didn't end up with him right. Look, the Jaguar was going to take him or Ben Johnson,
right? Ben Johnson went somewhere else. And they're both in the runner for coach of the year with
Mike Brable. So look, we got it right. And we are very, very happy to have Liam Cohen. And I think
after this Sunday, y'all to see exactly why
whether the Jaguars win or lose. By the way, I'm
picking the Jaguars to win 27-24.
I love it. I love
it. I always pick the Broncos to win.
I'm 12 and 2 so far this season
in my picks. So I'll take that, absolutely.
And I think it's going to be a great
matchup. You know what? It's two
teams that they're going to be juiced up for this
game, the intensity. It's going to be
high. And I think both of these teams know
they're going to be playing bigger games here
in the future. And we're once again getting a little
90s throwback, everybody. Last
Come on, man.
Come on.
