All right, we've got a guest today in studio, and it's not normally one of our blog riders or anything like that. It's an actual player,
Starting point is 00:01:03 an actual athlete. somebody who physically uses his body and not his mouth like most of us do these days. Joining us today, right-handed pitching prospect for your St. Louis Cardinals. Cade Winquest is here currently with the Springfield Cardinals. Thank you for joining the show. Cade. Appreciate your time today. No, thank you for having me.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Excited to do this. You're in Arkansas right now. And it's been a few days since you've thrown. When are you back up on the mound again? Tomorrow night. Tomorrow night. all right so do you get the you get the butterflies the night before or the day of how does that work for you i'm like uh it's like a few hours before it's not i wouldn't say like nervous butterflies it's more like
Starting point is 00:01:44 anxiety like anxiousness like to get out there and just get going just tired of sitting around all day so uh that's really the only thing i get but once the first bitch comes out of my hand like i'm good so yeah i was very much the same way especially when you had uh you know the late night games and you're just like all day you're just waiting oh yeah waiting you're like there's I can't look at the scouting reports anymore. I need something else to do. Right. Just build up.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Play already. All right. Well, let's get some, a little background on where you come from and some people get to know you a little bit better. How did you get into baseball as a youngster? Grew up in Texas, right? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I kind of got into it by myself.
Starting point is 00:02:24 No one really pushed anything upon me, like when I was a young kid or anything. Parents were kind of just going to support me whatever I chose to do. But I ended up getting into baseball. ball around like I was I was like four years old I think it was the funny story but the first where I played was soccer and going into the first game at halftime came up to my parents said I'm tired it's too hot too much running like I don't want to play anymore I want to go to my grandma's house and I want to start playing t-ball that's that's so that's how I got into it and I never stopped after that so yeah I had a similar uh hate for soccer too like it was fun to play
Starting point is 00:02:59 and then it was like the practice it was like dude I don't want to to run laps all the time. Let me play with the ball and do something. So I switched over to indoor where things were a little more snappy. And I was like, I'm done with this outdoor stuff. I'm not doing this anymore. But yeah, that's great. So now growing up in Texas, you know, obviously football is a big deal in the state of Texas. We all know that. Any aspirations to play football at all? Or was it just kind of baseball, kind of was your calling? It's always been baseball. I played football for about three years in middle school, sixth grade through eighth grade. First couple years, it was fun.
Starting point is 00:03:38 And then eighth grade came around. Everyone got a lot bigger than me. So that wasn't not fun. And I was kind of like small going into high school. So I was like, you know, I'm just going to focus on baseball. Like, that's what I like the most. I don't want to hurt myself because of my size or anything. You know, because I was like five, too going to my freshman year.
Starting point is 00:03:54 So I was like, all right, I need to put down the pads. When did you sprout? Because you're like six two now, dude. Yeah, it was going into my sophomore year. So right after my freshman year, I grew like five or six inches that summer. Like it was like crazy amount. And that's when I was like, okay, I'm caught up to everyone now. So that's a good side.
Starting point is 00:04:14 That's a good side. I'm no longer the runt of the litter here. You've all better wash out. Move out of the way in the in the hallways, bro. I'm coming through. All right. So pitching in high school, was that your first love? or were you playing other positions and you enjoyed, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:32 because we all, you know, you're usually playing first or you're always playing another position in high school. You're switching off when you're not pitching. Was it always pitching that you were drawn to or did you enjoy, you know, being a position player and swinging the bat? No, it was always hitting. I actually did not like pitching at all going into high school. I didn't pitch at all my freshman year.
Starting point is 00:04:51 And then a new school opened up my sophomore year. So I was just where I was zoned for showed up there, you know, a couple weeks in, like coach knows. I decided a good arm. I was obviously after I grew, so I was starting to get some power and stuff behind everything I do. And so he like kind of made me pitch that year. And I was like, okay, like, you know, I'm having success with it. Might as well keep going. But like, even throughout high school, like I didn't really pitch that much. I definitely have less than 50 innings that on my belt in high school. Just one, because some, like some injury issues, my junior and senior year. But other than that, I just, I didn't really care for it. Like I was, I was center fieler. That's why I love running down balls now. field loved hitting. It was pretty quick, so I've used my speed. So, like, that's kind of what I was drawn to at early age. Well, now, now you're a pitcher, like, you don't get the run bases. You don't get the swing of that anymore. Like, no, that kind of sucks, right? No, yeah, definitely. Like, I went to college as a two-way. So, um, I got to enjoy that a little bit,
Starting point is 00:05:48 pinched a little bit. Pintzran a couple times. Even I was just officially a P.O. in college, like, I was fun. But definitely miss hitting a little bit, like, especially in college and I was officially done with it. But since being in pro ball, like, I'm glad I'm not a hitter. It's not fun at all. So I'm glad I'm stuck with pitching. So do you guys, do you with the pitching staff, do you guys get together and take BP ever just for fun to, you know, kind of blow off some steam or anything? I have not in pro ball. A couple off, like in offseason sometimes, my friends that are still playing. I got hit with them in the cages and stuff, but nothing during the season because I never want to, you know, risk tweaking something
Starting point is 00:06:25 swinging the bass hard as I can. So, but it would be fun. Understood. All right. Tell me about your college years real quick. You go to UTA, Texas Arlington. How did you end up there? You know, were there offers at other schools? But how did you come about to that decision to make that your home? Oh, yeah. I think it was my junior year. I went to a camp there. It's kind of like, you know, all those camps are popping up. You get invited to this prospect camps, whatever, and sign up and go. So I think my summer ball coach had a connection at UTA. He's a hey, you know, come out there. Like, to be honest, like, I've never even heard of UTA when they told me about this camp and I lived 30 minutes away. So you guys just go out there, you and some other guys go an inning or two, and then you guys can leave. So did that, and then just kept in contact with the fishing coach throughout my junior year.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Had some other offers from, like, some JECOs, some D2s, some other smaller D1s. Had some interest from, like, Power 5s and stuff, but nothing too crazy. So, well, it was nice with UTA, they let me wait for. as long as I can. They didn't make me make a decision right away. They offered me in the fall or like October of my junior year and then I didn't commit until the fall in July. So they're very chill about that. But yeah, once that summer came around after my junior year, to having kind of a good summer, it was hitting the ball really well. You know, velocity was like slowly starting to go up and that's kind of when they came down. I'm like, right, we need a decision
Starting point is 00:07:52 the next two days. So then I was like, you know, looking at my options, like can I have be two-way, That's what I want to do 30 minutes from home. Like that's not a bad choice at all. So I just ended up making a decision to go there and loved it. No, that's great. Yeah, because being comfortable when you first time, was that the first time ever, like moving away from home? Like going to go to 30 minutes?
Starting point is 00:08:13 Yeah, yeah, definitely the first time. But I was able to go home at least once we get a home quick meal. You know, families always be able to come to games. Like, that was a blessing for sure. Awesome, awesome. All right. Well, we're going to get into Cade's pro career. We're going to talk about how things went for draft day for him.
Starting point is 00:08:30 We'll get into the ins and outs of who he is as a pitcher. And I always enjoying his time going from A ball to double A. He's made the promotion here recently. So we're going to get into all of this coming up next here on Lockdown Cardinals. Game time. Have you been to the game time app yet? Have you ever decided at the last minute? Winquest underscore. Okay. Instagram's the main one I use. So. All right. All right. I'll throw some people your way, hopefully get some things
Starting point is 00:10:57 are interested in your progress of how things are going for you because things are going well. You know, you were an eighth round pick back in 2022 by the Cardinals. And I always asked this from younger prospects because I just, I never got drafted. So I always want to feel what was it like that day? What were you doing that day when the draft was going down and you found out the Cardinals were selecting you in that eighth round? Where were you with friends, family? Were you driving around? Were you off fishing or doing something?
Starting point is 00:11:25 What was your day like? I was at home with family, me and my parents. It was a nerve-wracking day for. sure like I'd be lying if I said it wasn't but it was a it was kind of strange to start off because I think it was it was day two at the drafts around three to ten and I had the the Yankees called me like 30 minutes before the draft called and they like a whole zoom call with them and they broke down how they would develop me like what they want to do with my pitches and they told me like you know
Starting point is 00:11:52 like you're high on our draft board today so like you know I'm gonna speak if you're not a Yankee so I personally thought I was gonna be a Yankee yeah and then the draft starts I you know three through six come by I'm getting some calls from teams just you know want to sign for 20 50k or whatever and you know I saw I saw had a year of eligibility left so like you know I still have some levered so my my big stage I just went on my slot value like that's where I believe I'm worth so we're gonna stick to that and then really hear anything and then all of a sudden around eight through 10 agent calls me and says hey like these
Starting point is 00:12:26 teams are interested just you know heads up didn't hear anything for around seven, then eight comes around. He was like, all right, Yankees and Cardinals in. And then he goes, two picks for the Cardinals, thinking, all right, Cardinals picking you right here. So, I mean, it went from hearing nothing pretty much all day to within five minutes. It was like three teams are on you. All right, you're drafted. So it was a lot of emotions. I don't think I sat down the whole draft. I was walking around the house pacing. So it was a very interesting feeling for sure. But obviously, like, once it happened, you know, I was super excited, happy and all that. So Now, going into the draft, was there a target round that maybe your agent and people at scouts
Starting point is 00:13:10 maybe had said, like, look, this is probably where you're going to fall. Was eight kind of where you thought you'd be? Or did you think that was too high, too low? What were your feelings about that? I'm kind of, I mean, my agent honestly nailed it on the head. He says you're going to have some teams interested kind of early rounds, but like kind of discounted, like they're not going to give you a full slot. So you might get some offers there just depending on the money and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:13:30 you know, as bad as it sounds, it's all, you know, that's what you sign for is not for the money. So because the majority, I think there's a handful of teams in a round like seven through 10, and then, you know, day three comes around, whatever happens, happens. But he pretty much, he's like, you know how have a few teams here and there, rounds four through six, but majority is going to be eight through 10. And that's exactly what happened. So I kind of had an idea late day two. And, but, you know, I wasn't expecting a certain round, certain slot or anything.
Starting point is 00:13:59 I was just like, I want the opportunity. I know what I'm worth. And if someone gives me that, like, I'm, I'm just happy to do that. So that I think it's cool now that like MLB is starting to promote the draft a lot more compared to what they did in the past. Because everybody gets the idea from, you know, the NFL and some of the NBA, but mostly it's NFL. That's the big, the mecca of all events for when it comes to drafts. And, you know, they see people falling and people freaking out. And then baseball's got so many more rounds with 20 out of them now.
Starting point is 00:14:29 used to be crazier where like they would draft for for days like it would be nuts like you were going to take him to round 50 and so you're like how are we stopped thinking people but they put the kibops on that for sure but no that's cool that's uh i'm glad that it was something that was a good experience it wasn't like it's humbling and uh things called for you so that's good um let's get to know you as a pitcher for people who haven't gotten a chance to see you throw um who would you compare yourself to in the MLB is like just the style of pitcher that you are. I mean, yeah, I've never really truly had a specific picture I always compared myself to. I always had pictures that I kind of like look ahead, similar arsenals as me, like kind of fluid mechanics. And two of those guys I really watch was like Walker Pueh were tired glass now. I feel like we have like similar
Starting point is 00:15:17 arsenals, similar throwing motions for sure. So those are always guys that I kind of like always put attention to a little bit more. And even to the state, like, I still enjoy watching those guys throw. So I would say those are the main two, which is funny. My favorite pitcher is Max Scherger, but I throw nothing like him. This is a unique style. That a lot of people can pull off what he does. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Yeah, he had another good one last night with Toronto. He's been pitching really, really well. He's only, wait, 41 now and still doing what he's doing? Like, we still are very upset at St. Louis that they were never, able to bring him into a punt-o uniform at some point. We all wanted to see him being from St. Louis and all. Let's talk about your pitching arsenal. So what kind of stuff?
Starting point is 00:16:05 What do you got? What's in your bag? What do you throw in these days? So I got the forcing fastball. 12-6 curveball. 12-6 turbo. I've been like my bread and by her since I was 12. I've basically used the same grip since I were on the pitch till today.
Starting point is 00:16:20 And then I have a splitter, slider, and I just recently added a cutter this off-season. nice now when you get into because people always ask it's like you know they see pictures and they're like why doesn't they just add this like that's everybody's throw with it it's so easy like I just add it like it's no big deal how did you decide on what like your five pitches are going to be or were there other things that you you know toyed with and just kind of like it just doesn't work for me what what are your thoughts on those um well i've always had the fastball and curveball um high school and like early college, I would say, you know, freshman sophomore, I had to change it up, circle change. Then it was kind of just like a straight change, nothing crazy, nothing wicked about it.
Starting point is 00:17:01 And then, you know, all the pits metrics and all that stuff started getting big and stuff like that. So like, now I want like a wicked change up. Like I want to have just, just wipe out, just crazy change up. And so I started messing grips and just completely lost feel for it. Just like could not hold it, cannot throw it. So that's when I went to the square because like the square is just a single grip and I just throw as hard as I can and just let the grip work. because even my bad ones it's still doing something it looks different so i was just like all i can ask for so um went from the change it to the splitter i added a slider the same time i added
Starting point is 00:17:32 a splitter just because i wanted something that looks a little bit different than the curveball something that's a little bit more i'm playing with the fastball um and that honestly that pitch has kind of been like a work in progress since i've learned it i think this year has been i finally found like a grip and just a release angle with it that where it's just the most consistent i know exactly what it's going to do because originally like my first two years it could be anywhere from 79 miles an hour to 88 miles an hour it could be big and loopy it could be like a bullet slider so and that was like frustrating because I never knew what was going to do when I threw it so it was like hard to locate yeah and I like finally this year I've like found a grip of there I know exactly what it's going to do
Starting point is 00:18:09 and now I can like throw it to where I want to throw it um everybody's always gonna go ahead sorry that was like that was just like a good feeling this year for sure no it is yeah right because it's just like you know, it's kind of like with a swing too, where finally something clicks and works and it just feels comfortable and you're just like, oh, gosh, that's it. And it just kind of unlocks another level for you. So, uh, you know, as a pitcher, I, I read when I first learned when I first got the, uh, the snap on a slider and I was like, oh, that's it. That's how it finally tug you before. It's like flying off and it's go whizzing by people's heads. And I'm like, I can't control it. I don't know what's doing. And yeah, it's a good feeling when you finally get, when you finally get that
Starting point is 00:18:49 thing to click. People always are obsessed with the, the velo and whatnot, but as a pitcher, not a thrower, as a pitcher, what's more important to you? Is it velo accuracy or movement? I know all three of them are a big deal, but which one do you kind of, like, if I can have that, I'll take that over the other two, if possible. I mean, I think the biggest thing with pitching is accuracy. It doesn't matter how hard you throw. Like, if you're, if you know, you throw 90, if you're not accurate, you're not going to go anywhere in the sport. So if I had to choose one of those three to be the most important. I think that one would be the top one for sure. You got promoted in July. Well, I got to ask this. What's your VLO at right now just for all
Starting point is 00:19:30 the crazies out there? You know the heat number. What do you got? I've been 95, 97, touching some aides. I've been up to nine this year. So, you know, mid mid, mid, high nine, it's been on the day. So see, that's nothing wrong with that as long as you consistent with that. Yeah, perfect. Beautiful. You got promoted in July. to from Peoria, which I actually worked in radio and Peoria for a little while. So I'm familiar with that place. And had some friends who actually lived in Springfield with the college down there. But you got promoted from Peoria to Springfield.
Starting point is 00:20:02 What have you noticed has been the biggest difference in, you know, the month that you've been up there? The biggest difference, I would say, is just like hitters, I feel like just have more consistent swing tendencies. They have like an idea what they want to do with a certain pitch in a certain location. and, you know, at the low levels. And I'm not, you know, trashing on any hitters in the low levels, you know, but they're up there's swinging.
Starting point is 00:20:25 They're up there, they're going to swing as hard as they can. They look and they're running the balls. And, you know, I think that it works out a lot, a lot of time. And there's low levels. But I think as you get into higher levels, you're going to see hitters like, all right, this is what I'm looking for. And if I get that, I'm not going to miss it. So I think just planning and just kind of using my strengths against those type of hitters,
Starting point is 00:20:46 just like, all right, so this is what he's looking for. if I can, this is where I'm good at. And if it, you know, matches up and it's a good matchup. But then I'm like, all right, that's what I'm, this room to stick with. So I think just planning and it's just a lot, I guess I would say easier as a pitcher because it doesn't make pitching easier, but it just means like, all right, this is what I want to do throughout this game with, against this lineup because these guys are more consistent up here for sure.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, the mental side obviously is a big deal. Like he said, you know, being a pitcher instead of a thrower, you know, it's figuring out those tendencies of the of the hitters and it's it is different you know you go from a like you know in triple a i mean you're going to find guys that don't chase as much and uh you know in double a i'm sure it's better than what you're seeing in a ball i mean it's just the levels of uh of the game uh for them
Starting point is 00:21:32 so uh you know that's great that you know you're you're picking up on all that stuff which is uh something that not all players do you know the guy the fancy guys coming out there and they're like all right throws triple digits and just tries to smoke them and uh don't think about what it takes to get these guys out, set them up for not only the first at bat, but the third at bat. You're thinking down the ways in different endings. So there's a lot more to it than some of the common fans know about. So I love to hear that. You did, I got to ask real quick, you did get to play with J.J. Weatherholt for a little bit.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Everybody's obviously very excited about his future with the organization. What was JJ like as a teammate and player? What was he like in your clubhouse? I actually did not get to play with J.J. You did not. I thought he was still there. He was called up right before I got called up. But I got to play a couple times in spring trading.
Starting point is 00:22:21 So I guess we're teammates training on the backfields. But I mean, Unreal Guy. I haven't talked to him a lot, but, you know, definitely had a few conversations. But unreal guy, great human being. And then obviously what he does in the field is just like out of this world. You know, like the future is so bright for that guy. And he's going to do some great things for this organization throughout his career. So like I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:22:42 I, you know, always keeping up with him on Twitter, Instagram, whatever that is, in my LB Central, all those accounts that they love posting them and stuff like that. So, but I mean, he's a great player. And everyone that I, that I'm with right now, I've said, again, I mean, he's just, he's just overall great teammate. And he's obviously just one of the better players that people have seen. So how about this? How would you attack J.J. Weatherholt the hitter.
Starting point is 00:23:04 I don't know if you got scouting reports on it. How would you come after JJ? I mean, I think with any just good hitter like that, I think I'm, I'm attacking with a fastball first time I'm facing them and just see him. where I stand, see what they're seeing, how they're feeling the box, and then just depend on the result of that pitch, then go off of that.
Starting point is 00:23:22 But that's, yeah, I'd probably tag first fastball and just see what he does with it. Awesome. All right, well, coming up next, we're going to have more with Cade WinQuest, and we're going to do the nine innings rapid fire, where we hit you with nine fun questions, and we just go real quick through them
Starting point is 00:23:40 and see what we can get out of Cade today. So more with them coming up next on Locked on Cardinals. All right, we're back out. Thanks for making Lockton Cardinals. Your first listen today for your second list and check out the all new Lockedon MLB Game Night. It's every game every night all season long and local analysis on a national scale. You can find MLB game night on the Lockedon MLB YouTube channel or wherever you listen to your podcast, myself and John Frisch from Lockton Angels will be your host again this evening. Hopefully talking about another Cardinals win.
Starting point is 00:24:15 They've won two in a row in their trip in Miami right now. So obviously that's good news. joined by prospect of the St. Louis Cardinals, Cade Winquest, who was kind enough to join us on the road with the team with Springfield Cardinals. They're in Arkansas right now, and he's going to be pitching tomorrow night. So if you get a chance to check him out online and watch that game. If you're not in the area, make sure you guys do that. All right, Cade, nine inning, rapid fire round.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Simple, quick questions. You don't have to go in depth on anything. Nothing crazy. First off, favorite movie. favorite movie i would say american gangster with dinsel washington now are you like all gangster movies are pretty cool or is there is there something special about that i do love gangster mafia like all that stuff like from the 80s 90 i love those types movies so those are definitely my favorites are you like me that when you watch those movies
Starting point is 00:25:11 though you immediately have a craving for italian food like all i want is tomato sauce all around me Like that scene in Goodfellows when they're in the jail and they're all cooking the meal. I'm just like, dude, give me meatballs. Let's go. I'm always down for some Italian food. Favorite bands or artists? I guess I have an answer for both. Favorite band would probably be the Jimmy Hendrick experience.
Starting point is 00:25:38 And then favorite artists would probably be ASEP Rocky. Okay. All right. Both sell it. Now, which one do you use for? Do you use either of them for like your walkout music? or anything? I've used Jimmy Hendricks in the past, but currently I'm not using either of them. I have a I have a Green Day song right now. So, okay. What, which, what was the Jimmy song that you had used? Did you go,
Starting point is 00:26:00 like the, the Hulk Hogan NWO? It was a Voodie Child. Exactly what it was. Voodie Child. Yeah. Look at K, NWO for life over here. All right. I know you got to take care of your body. We just mentioned food and Italian food. Is that your, your favorite kind of cheat meal? Is it Italian or do you got like something else? I mean, I love a good cheeseburger and fries. It's probably, and especially, I mean, it's probably the worst that you've probably put your body at McDonald's. Like I, if I'm going to pig out, I'm going to McDonald's, I'm getting a quarter pounder fries, nuggets. So like that's probably like my go to cheat meal. Do you go double, do you go double quarter pounder ever on a
Starting point is 00:26:39 on a real fat day? Sometimes I do. I think it just depends on what I'm feeling when I pull up to the drive-through. So I love it. I love it. I love it. We take our dog. We and the wife have a, we have a small little weiner dog, a doxon, and that's like her favorite meal. So like on Sundays, McDonald's is where we go. We just get it like the plain hamburger and then I just raw. The quarter-pounders, dude, I'm the same way, bro. Give me the extra pickles and I'm all over it. If not a ball player, what are some other things that you would, you know, that you enjoy doing that, you know, maybe you can see yourself transitioning into down, you know, in the future if you had to take on another.
Starting point is 00:27:17 job right um not a ball player i think i've always been to like real estate so like i think being a real like something doing with real estate realtor would be really fun um i don't play golf right now but like i do appreciate the sport a lot and i am starting to get more into it so like eventually you got to get in the golf i mean if you're baseball and you're a pitcher you're like golfing what are you doing so i'm a behind on that. So hopefully the next couple of years, I start getting into that. You got, you got a set of clubs yet? Or you still? I got some waiting at my house. My dad got a new pair or a new set of clubs. So he had both ones waiting for me whenever I'm ready. All right. All right. Yeah, yeah. As a baseball player, then all they play is gone.
Starting point is 00:28:01 It's all right. Um, favorite non-baseball athlete. Non-baseball athlete. I guess probably football, probably my favorite sport other than baseball. And I think growing up, like my favorite football player was Adrian Peterson. I love to watch him around the football. I know he's not playing anymore,
Starting point is 00:28:25 but like I would say maybe Mar Chase, Stefan Dick, like those guys are probably my favorite football players right now. So I'd say thanks to you guys for sure. Are you a Cowboys fan? Or who do you pull for being from Texas? Sadly, yeah, I am a Cowboys fan. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:28:40 It's America's team. We get it? I wouldn't call him that anymore, but sure. Yeah, the Cowboys, you know, they're a team, man. They got some interesting. You added some pieces this year. I got to get that Michael Parsons figured out. But, yeah, he's a freaking beast out there.
Starting point is 00:29:00 That'd be a shame of one from him. I just let you know, I am a Packers fan and a Packers owner. I've got the certificate. There you go. We butted heads a couple times with the Cowboys and the Packers. It's been on my way in the Lurice of years. All right. So, well, okay, football, if we're going to stick with football,
Starting point is 00:29:19 who's your pick for Super Bowl? Can't pick the Cowboys, though. You've got to pick somebody outside your favorite team. Who's somebody on another team that excite you? I mean, I haven't paid attention too much to preseason kind of what teams have done with the draft and everything. I would say anyone but the Cowboys for sure. I would absolutely say that.
Starting point is 00:29:36 But I would love to see the lions. If I wasn't going to pick a cowboy, the cowboys, I would love the lions go out there and get a title. And I love that team. I love Campbell, what he has done with that culture and that team overall. So I would, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:51 I mean, they were solid last year, and I don't think they've gotten worse. So I'd pick the lines, you know. Yeah, I can see that because the only thing, they lost their OC. There have been, he went to the Bears, actually.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Yeah. So let's see how that affects. them. But yeah, you know, did you watch quarterback on Netflix at all? Are you a Netflix guy? I have not seen quarterback. Okay. If you get bored on the road or something, if you get bored or something, Netflix quarterback, and it follows Jared Goff and Joe Burrow and Kirk Cousins again with his time in the Falcons. So it's pretty good. And you get to see the lion stuff in there. As a Packers fan, it's, I hate that they're so good. They're very impressive. They got a strong defense. So they're a good team, man.
Starting point is 00:30:38 It's tough. You can face one major league hitter. And you can do dead or alive if you want to. It's up to you. But you get you get one chance, all right? Bottom of the ninth, this is it. World Series on the line. You get to face one hitter just for fun.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Who would you want to face and see what you got? I said with JJ. I think I'm just going to go with like Barry Bond, one of the better hitters that's here all time. I just want to see where I stand. You know what I mean? Right now, just go up there to attack and see what happens. You know what happens? Ball four. That's what happens. Probably. Probably. Absolutely. You know that or he's taking your $4.50. That's what's going to happen to you. Exactly. Exactly. All right. Favorite, do you have a favorite superhero? Do you like superhero movies or anything like that? I'm a big Marvel guy. I actually watched the Marvel movies in chronological order back in college. My senior thought I was really cool. I'd probably pick four. I love four. There you go. I got a thunder. Why not?
Starting point is 00:31:36 And then last but at least, favorite color other than Cardinal Red, which you have to do because you're in the Cardinals organization. But what's something else you roll with? I'd probably say green. I'd say green without my greens. Excellent. Excellent. All right. Well, Cade Winquest.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Thank you for joining us here today. I hope you had some fun with us. Make sure you guys follow along. Do your handle again. What was the place they could follow you at? Instagram is a B.C. Winquest underscore. Okay. Do you post a lot up there?
Starting point is 00:32:09 Or you just kind of, you more scrolling through and stuff? I wouldn't say, like, a lot, but I wouldn't say I don't post it all. I mean, there's a couple posts a month. So I'm definitely active for sure. Okay, cool. Well, guys, give him a follow there on Instagram. Obviously, follow his journey with the Springfield Cardinals right now.
