All right, Chuck,
wrapping up a four-game series.
Not a great series for the Cardinals.
business as usual for the Brewers.
We're going to roll through a quick little synopsis of the first couple of games,
and then we'll talk more about what happened on Sunday.
Game one, brewers jump all over the Cardinals, A, Sunny Gray.
This was a game that I, you know, it's Sunny Gray on the mound for the Cardinals.
And we don't even know.
I had no idea even the guy was that was throwing for the Brewers in game one.
And so you had the advantage, I thought at least, in the Cardinals court.
but the Brewer's offense jumps all over Sunny Gray.
They tag him for three home runs.
Offense for the Cardinals couldn't capitalize in any scoring situation,
something that has been a very serious problem for the Cardinals all season.
You saw it a lot in this series.
And the Brewers take game one by the score of 7 to 1.
How surprised were you at the damage that the brewers were able to do against
Sunny Gray in that first one?
Very much so, because Sunny has very much a lot of success against the Brewers
in years gone by with so many different teams.
And I thought the Brewers, okay, you know, they're in for it here.
But he pitched, you mentioned the three home run balls, jumped on him early, you know,
4-0 by the second inning.
And that's game set in our match.
Tobias Myers on the Hill for the Brewers, who was not a preferred starter all season long,
spring training, but they've had so many injuries.
And he comes up, pitches four innings.
And that's where we're looking, it's where the Brewers are at this point,
hoping to get some of these guys.
just through four or five innings and let the bullpen.
Now, how that's going to work in July and August is anybody's guess.
But, I mean, I was delighted.
The Brewers were able to jump on Sunny Gray because I knew the matchup on Friday that was going to be a tough one too.
Yeah.
And, you know, something about Sunny Gray, which we pointed out on Friday's show was last year with the twins.
He only gave up eight home runs the whole season, already up to four so far this year.
Obviously, three of those hit on Thursday.
So game two, though, another blowout in favor of the Brewers who jump out to a seven and nothing lead.
We had some zeros on the board for a little while.
And then the Brewers just went crazy and start mashing.
They go on to win this one 11 to 2.
Somebody by the name of Robert Gasser started for you guys.
Again, not somebody I'm entirely familiar with this entire time, but stymies the Cardinals for six shutout innings.
What can you tell me about the gas man?
Well, I'll tell you what, he was great.
minor league one of their top minor league pitchers one of the top prospects another guy left
hander and they couldn't hit them the cardals were so baffled in this one what what what what stands
out to me jadie is when i'm watching the game on friday night 11 to 1 and i'm just thinking the cardinals
are bobbling every ball that's hit to them i'm like because you know the the thing about the cardinals
all these year the cardinals way and all that do things the right way and all that do things the right
don't make any mistakes.
Don't beat yourself.
And I'm watching this game.
And at the end of the night, I'm like,
how did they only have,
I was sitting in my seats?
I was sitting on the stands.
How did they only have one error in this game?
I mean, I count at least five or six,
bobbled balls and all that.
So, yeah, the Brewers took advantage.
But that game was so uncardalike.
The way they're just throwing the ball around,
bubbling the ball, just mistakes.
All of, you know, of course,
there was a bluntly down the third base line.
the way things are going for the Cardinals, you knew that was going to hit the base.
And Yellich laid down the bed.
But, you know, credit the Brewers.
Brewers came out and took advantage and won the game.
And then they were going, so the Brewers won the first two games of the series.
And I'm thinking, oh, man, I think they're going to sweep this series.
And then we move on to game three, which easily the most painful one for the,
for the Cardinal side of things, because, you know, the team's up three to two in the seventh inning.
So it's late.
and the cardals been really good, bullpen-wise,
with their back of the bullpen.
You got a solid start from Kyle Gibson.
The cartels are actually beating the Brewers' ace, Freddie Peralta,
who expected to just shove against the Cardals
after seeing their lack of offense in those first two games.
Andrew Kitchridge is on the mound.
He's been phenomenal, had only given up two runs,
two earned runs so far this season.
And there's two out.
And I remember when the,
so the Brewer's steal second base, okay?
And I'm thinking,
right, on deck circle, you've got the rookie, right?
Yeah, Jackson. And I'm thinking there, I'm like, all right, who would I rather face if I'm the Cardinals right now?
You don't want to load the bases, but do I want to face Reese Hoskins or would I rather face a rookie who's hitting a little bit over 200?
That was my thought. Now, I know that Kittridge got up in the count 02 and Reese fought back and it was a great at bat by Reese Hoskins, but I'm still thinking, I'm really going to be careful with this guy.
And the pitch that Kittridge through wasn't even that bad of a pitch.
It was actually down beneath the zone a little bit.
Hoskins just beat them, just went down there and got it,
knocks it over the center field wall.
It's a three-run shot.
It's a dagger to the hearts of any Cardinals fan.
And probably the team itself gives them a five to three lead.
And you guys go on to win that game as well.
And we were texting and you were like, even when the Brewers were down,
you were still very confident.
You're like, I.
Oh, yeah.
I think the Brewers are coming back.
Yeah, I mean, I just had this feeling that the brewers have this ability in the regular season, I'll say.
Now, I wish I'd see some of this in the postseason.
You know, regular season, I've seen this magic at Miller Park happen, Amfam Field,
have before I thought some way, they're going to find out to win this game.
And certainly enough, you know, Reese hits the home run.
And that was it.
You know, the Cardinals did put a couple of ducks on the pond in the ninth inning after two were out.
And I'm thinking, oh, boy.
and then Aeronados at the plate
did not play on Sunday
but yeah
and the Reese hot one swing in the bat
puts the Brewers but I thought the Brewers were there
for the taking on Saturday
and then you know we had him the Sunday and I'm thinking
oh for sure I think they have a shot
at a sweep here with Bryce Wilson on the hill
especially facing Mikeliss I just
and I even text you I said
I said is JD are we looking at
Marmo if they get swept
the series, is he going to keep his job if the Brewers sweep the Cardinals? And at that point,
the Brewers had beaten the Cardinals eight straight games. Yeah. Yeah. In dominating fashion,
for the most part, too. I mean, you've had a couple of tight ones here and there, as you might see,
but a lot of blowouts, a lot of, a lot of big victories for Milwaukee where it really not all
that competitive on the Cardinals side, but things were very much different on Sunday. So we're
going to talk about game four of this series. We'll be doing that next year on this crossover episode.
of Locked-on Cardinals and Locked-on Brewers.

Yeah, Chuck Freeman, Chuck and F-R-E-I-M-U-N-D.
Always looking forward to talking to any of the viewer fans out there,
or Cardinal fans, for that matter.
Yeah, yeah.
And we need some talking to, Chuck,
because things have not been well in St. Louis.
And we've all been, okay, we're all in, you know how sometimes you've got to get outside
of your friend's circle and talk to somebody who's just kind of outside of everything
that you're doing each every day?
that's how it is for the Cardinals right now because we've all been bitching and complaining to each other since spring training.
Since last year, Chuck, it's been tough.
And, you know, maybe Chuck and Lindenier and help us through it a little bit.
We're going to get his opinions on what he thinks about the Cardinals and what's going wrong with them here in just a little bit.
But let's focus on today's game, or on Sunday's game, I should say, since this is airing on Monday.
Game four, the Brew crew.
They jump out to a three to nothing lead on Miles Michaelis.
And as a Cardinals fan, we're going, here we go again.
Here we go again.
This is going to be embarrassing.
We're going to be 10 games out of first place already.
We're going to get swept in Milwaukee.
They're going to win nine in a row against us.
We're just going to, it's just bad.
Get your brooms out.
Turn off the lights in the Cardinals Clubhouse.
It's over.
But in the third inning, something happens.
All right.
Again, Brewers are up in this one.
Third inning, Cardinals bench coach Daniel Descalso and manager,
Ali Marmel both get tossed from the game in like two seconds, right next to each other,
back to back.
This happened after they had a second call overturned in the first three innings.
Both times they made the challenge.
They got it right.
Bad calls by the first base umpire.
And again, this is just, it's just frustration.
It has to be just frustration boiling over because you can see it after each challenge.
They're like, I can't believe we have to challenge these.
Like how are you screwing these calls up?
Because they weren't necessarily all that close at first base on either one of them.
Chuck, you were there.
You saw the argument boil over.
It was a very heated one between Ollie and home plate umpire,
Alan Porter, but it appeared to light a fire under the Cardinals.
Now, I don't know what the temperament of Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy is,
but this was something I'd been waiting for and was happy to finally see because I don't
know how Ali's been able to stay this calm during this losing streak,
during the last year and a half of just straight up losing.
But finally, he blew his top today.
And I liked it.
What did you think about it from your seats right behind home plate today?
Yeah, the radio station seats behind home plate and got to see this.
And I don't know if the Cardinals needed a jump stop or to start or what it was.
But certainly when they put those replays on the scoreboard, both replays.
Now, this is Amfam Field.
So mostly Brewer fans.
So usually, you know, when the home team gets screwed on a call,
like, oh, there was silence from Brewers fans at both of them
because it was clearly that they blew the call in favor of the Brewers.
Oh, God, oh, they're going to overturn these.
But I can see, Ali, I can see that, though,
because you get screwed twice by the same alpire.
You're like, come on.
What's going on there?
In the first three innings, too.
This is the major leagues.
Yeah, this is in seven innings deep into the game.
This is the first three innings he screwed up too much.
Yes, JD, this is the major leagues.
These guys are the best of the best.
We're not talking about roughing, umpiring my 12-year-old little league here.
We're talking the best of the best.
How they get the same guy got it wrong.
Wrong.
How?
So, and you know, obviously Marble had enough and he can't.
Rurring out and I, you know, you could hear him.
And I honestly, when he got behind home plate,
and he was showing the strike zone to the home plate umpire which homebauer never wants you to show him up like that but he
know he was going to get his money's worth as we say and i thought i thought marl was throwing some
that dirt right at home plate i thought he was going to you know i just thought that was happening
i thought that was going to happen but and i don't know if it lights a spark or not because it
wasn't like the cardals had this big explosion uh the brewers the brewers never tacked after the key here
was, you know, they had Michaelis on the ropes the first inning.
He threw 40 pitches on a base hit by Sanchez.
Who got, oh, Reese Hoskins got thrown out of the plate.
One of the slower runners in baseball got gun down at the plate.
You know, they probably shouldn't have sent him.
But the feeling is if you hold him at third and the next batter, which was Ortiz
gets a base hit.
that might be the end of Michaelis right there in that inning.
40, you know, another run,
um, 40, 50 pitches he's throwing in and that might,
that might have been it.
So the brewers might have helped out the Cardinals in that one.
And then it goes to, you know, stays at 3.1.
Cardinals just pecked away.
And, you know, J.D., you got to be happy that finally Goldschmidt broke out of it today.
Most certainly, because we all feel bad for Goldie.
Because it's not like he's not trying.
It's not like he's not putting into work.
You see him. He's one of the first people on the field every game in the cage, at the
tea, just trying to figure out what the hell is going wrong with him. And coming to Milwaukee,
he's always hit well there. He's always done very, very well. And I was surprised to see him get
the first game off. I know he was getting that Wednesday game off that got rained out for the Cardinals
against the Mets. We knew that. They let him have two days off in a row. And, you know, he came up,
obviously in some big situations in those early games and wasn't able to pull through,
but started hitting the ball a little bit harder, which was nice to see because that's how it starts,
right, Chuck? It's not like it usually boom, all of a sudden you're hitting home runs.
You hit a couple of line drives. They usually go right at somebody and you're still like kicking the
dirt. You're like, oh my gosh, what are I got to do? But slowly but surely things start to move a little
bit better. And that that's what happened in this one. Paul Goldschmidt came up not once but
twice in key situations.
Obviously, he hits the solo shot, which was his third home run of the year.
And it's been a long time since he had it.
But he gets that one in the fifth inning.
Then in the following inning, sixth inning, he gets the RBI single in a big
situation to tie the game up at three.
At that point, you've got a tie ball game.
What are you thinking there, Chuck, when you see a guy struggling as bad as gold he is
and he's starting to burn the brewers a little bit, were you getting a little nervous?
Like, yeah.
Yeah.
Because I've been, I've seen this story with the Brewers before, get an early lead and just rest on it.
You know, I've seen them do that.
You got that three run first inning and they didn't, you know, they let Michael stick around and get off the hook.
And I just thought momentum was just on the Cardinal side and it was just a matter of time.
And they did.
And they took the lead.
The Brewers did nothing against the Cardinal bullpen the rest of the night.
This is not a lot of offense, nothing.
They had a couple of two out-base hits.
but not a lot there.
You know, for Goldie, he crushed that one to center field.
And then, you know, they have a base hit ties at the left field.
But my 12 year looks at the scoreboard and he goes, Dad, Paul coachman's batting 181.
I go, he's just having a rough year.
What was he like over 30 at one point?
It's been really bad.
He actually, I got the stat here.
Hold on.
He was over 32.
He had snapped an over 32 streak.
on Saturday.
And then he had two hits today,
including the home run.
That was his first since April 22nd,
just the third of the year.
And he's got his first RBIs on Sunday.
Those were his first RBIs at his last 12 games.
Like it's been bad.
And it's not like he's just,
you know,
he's hitting flyouts.
Like he's striking out all the time.
Like it's,
it's so weird to see it because we've never seen him.
Yeah.
Like this.
Like everybody goes through slumps,
but I've never seen Paul Goldsmith routinely striking out three and four times a game.
Like it's just bizarre.
You know, he struggled at his last time at bat too because he had the home run and the base hit.
And then he strikes out.
I think it was the top of the ninth inning he struck out.
But he got called looking.
And, you know, that was I thought, oh, boy, Goldsmith again here.
But they got him.
And then that was it right there.
But, you know, it's just I, I'm one of these guys who are, the card was always scared
to hell out of me.
They do.
I just think, you know, at the end of the day, the Cardinals always seem to have our number.
You know, 2011, 1988, and I was a kid, really kid, a small kid.
But I just think that, you know, right now I look at the Cardinals, and I just, I've never said this before.
The Brewers are a better team than the Cardinals.
The Brewers are just a better team.
I think it's trending down for the Cardinals right now.
And I'm not bad-mouthed them.
I'm not saying anything that I haven't seen on Twitter.
but I just, man, I'm just surprised.
It's gone maybe last year just wasn't a barrage.
Maybe this is something, maybe they need to rebuild or retool or something like that.
I don't know with JD, but the Cardinals are just, something's not right there.
Yeah, it's a, it's a weird vibe.
We all thought that last year might have been an anomaly as well.
That, you know, you dealt with some injuries.
We didn't really fix up the pitching staff that we thought we needed to do.
A couple of guys were in their last.
years of their contract. So it's like, all right, let's see if we could squeeze one more out of them.
And then they go and, you know, they go and kind of fix the rotation. I mean, they were still stuck with
Stephen Mads, who's out right now. You'd already given the extension to Miles Michaelis, which
hasn't looked really good at all. But, you know, he brought in the Gibson and Lynn and Sunny
Gray. And then you brought in all these relievers. And for the most part, they've all done a pretty
darn good job. It's, it's odd that it's the offense this year, that, that,
has just been so bad, just putrid all the time.
Like runners in scoring position, I don't know what the overall numbers are, but they're
not good.
You know, they're competing with the white socks and the Oakland days for, you know,
and now the Cincinnati Reds in our division for the worst offensive teams at all
of baseball.
Like, so it's been very strange.
It's, it's weird to see Goldie struggle.
It's weird to see Aronado just have no power whatsoever.
Like, he just cannot seem to, uh, to get that power.
stroke back has been able to hit for average a little bit.
But it's been a rough go, man.
I mean, Michael Ciani, the guy who ends up getting the game winning hit in this one on
Sunday has the most hits of any Cardinals so far in May.
They picked them up off waivers from the Reds last year, who let him go.
He's 10 for 21, which is more hits than Aronado and more than Newpar.
He's hitting, he's going eight game hitting streak right now.
is hitting 4.78. Like, that's weird. Like Michael Ciani should not be leading this team and hitting when you look at the guys, you know, you see the names on the back of the jerseys that the Cardinals are putting out there each day. It's just so strange to see them all struggle this way. So I want to get your opinion on what you think as an outsider looking in on what you're picking up from the Cardinals. And I'll do the same for the Brewers. And then we'll also give some final thoughts on what the team's futures are going to be moving forward. But the Cardinals,
were able to pick up the win on Sunday.
It was 4 to 3. You mentioned the bullpen, shutting it down,
which is what they've done for the most part all season.
The Kitchridge, give it up the home run to Hoskins on Saturday night.
Not a normal thing at all.
I think it was just a case where Hoskins, he just beat him.
Hoskins just put a good swing on the ball, and it went over the wall.
You know, it happens to study.
He's a closer.
He's a stabbing.
We're just seeing him up close.
He's man, huh?
Brewers weren't going to touch him.
Yeah, right?
Hellsley's got some, got some heat there. So, but it was a win for the Cardinals. It snaps the losing
streak. It snaps the winning streak for the Brewers over the Cardinals, which, you know, mentally,
that's probably a good thing for the Cardinals to finally say, okay, it's finally over. I'm sure the
brewers are probably, yeah, we're fine. No big deal. We took three out of four. We're still in
first place. So I'm sure mentally you guys are doing just fine. But we'll talk more about an outside
look from each of us about the other team. We'll get into that next here.
on this crossover episode of Locked-on Cardinals and Locked-on Brewers.
Baseball season is officially underway, obviously.
We're at Mother's Day already.

How are you guys feeling in Milwaukee right now, Chuck?
You guys doing all right?
As far as what?
With the NBA.
You guys doing okay?
Well, you know, another year goes off the calendar and don't get a title with Janus.
It was just a complete mess, complete mess this year.
And yeah, but to be honest with you, I didn't see them beating.
the Pacers, even with a healthy Janus.
I didn't see it. I mean, we're seeing the Pacers what they're doing with the Knicks right now.
Yeah, yeah, they're playing them very, very well.

our teams now that we separate for a while because I don't know how many guys you've played in the
division so far. It's only been you for the Cardinals. We haven't got a chance to see anybody else.
So where do you guys go from here? What's next on your hit list? You got the pirates coming in for
a first of three. You know, I kind of like the fact that we're playing, you know, American League teams
because I felt like the Brewers played the pirates like 50 times a year back in the day.
You know, all the time. So you got the pirates coming out.
just a big swing I thought Sunday's game was.
To be honest,
Jay,
because if the Brewers win that game,
they move four games out in front of St. Louis.
Now,
I said right now the Brewers are a better team,
but I am never,
never in my life,
whatever,
but there's one franchise that I never,
never count out,
I would never,
ever, ever count out the St. Louis Cardinals.
Those guys could come in and play a game
with boxing gloves on,
and I would still,
I would still not count them up because, hey, I saw, I saw what you guys did in 2011, that
amazing run that you guys had when everybody counts you out.
And just, you know, just magic happens.
You guys just got that magic that happens with your team.
So I was glad the Brewers took 3 or 4, but they got the pirates coming up.
What do you guys got?
Where do you guys go from here?
We're actually heading out to Los Angeles to face the angels who are not a good,
baseball team. They don't have Mike Trout who's out with the knee injury. So these are some very
winnable games for the Cardinals. It's one of the easier people they're going to face. But they also
just, you know, lost two or three to the White Sox who was supposed to be a cakewalk too. So I hope that
this last game on Sunday is something that, you know, sparks a little more confidence in the Cardinals
because for me, that's what I, when I watch this team play, that seems to be something that is
severely lacking, like just the body language just gives off a vibe that they're not going to
succeed no matter what they do anyway, which is a terrible place to be. What are you seeing
from the Cardinals in this series? What did you see from them as something that you're like
that makes them look different from the teams that you're used to seeing where you're talking about
this magic that they always seem to have where the last, you know, year or two, looks like the magic
has run out. What are you picking up on as an outsider?
Look flat. The mistakes I was telling you about earlier that happened in Friday night,
you know, just making ridiculous, booting the ball around, just stuff like that.
I don't expect from the St. Louis Cardinals. I don't. So that's what I noticed.
Yeah, they came back and they beat the Brewers on Sunday. And I look at that too. The Brewers
kind of went into a hole after that 3-0 lead.
And, you know, that wasn't that the Cardinals all of a sudden exploded against the Brewers.
Right.
You know, the pitching staff held the Brewers down the rest of the game, the final eight
evenings.
But I don't know, other than Goldschmidt, there wasn't a big offense a day.
The Cardinals were stranding runners on base once again.
You know, they stranded bases loaded in the, you know, in the second inning, too.
So they were doing that, by the way, Chuck.
That's one of the favorite things to do this year.
It must be a national holiday in the Midwest,
because we get to do that once in a while too.
Like too often.
So I, but like I said, I, you know, I see Twitter.
I follow Twitter, Cardinals Twitter, and I see everybody's upset and all that.
I get it.
You guys are used to excellence, you know, whatever.
I understand that.
But I would say never count out your team, but definitely there's some things that to be
concerned of.
What did you see with the Brewers so far?
eight games over the 500 mark.
The Brewers,
a solid team.
What impresses me a lot is the clutch hitting.
It's something that the Cardinals severely lack in.
Like it just,
they never seem to be able to come through when they absolutely need something to happen.
Whereas the Brewers are able to piece a couple of hits together here and there.
And it's always,
it can always be another guy.
Like, of course,
you never want to see Contreras in a big situation.
That guy has been amazing.
Like, I text you the other.
day about that. I'm like, I still can't believe you guys got him out of Atlanta in that trade.
Like that was what, what a, what a great job right there to be able to pull him.
When they got, when they got him, my first, and a lot of people who called my radio show in
Wisconsin would say, yeah, but the card will still have the better Wilson.
You know, they have the better, well, that's the, you know, or the, but I don't know now.
I mean, you know, Wilson's hurt. It's a horrible injury the other day. Hopefully he, he, he,
comes back, you know, you don't want to see anybody go down, even the, you know, the rival team.
Of course, you never will see that happen. But, you know, you're right, William. I mean, he's having
a bet in 342 at one point today. I looked up with a scoreboard.
Just having an amazing year, an MVP type year. And this is coming off what he did last year.
So, and the Brewers, you know, getting him just kind of dropped in their lap. So, so far, so good,
they got some years of control with him. And we'll see how, we'll see how it works out.
Yeah, because he'd only had that one good year with.
Atlanta, he was an all-star, and then all of a sudden, the Brewers get him, and I'm like,
how does that happen? Like, wait, wait a second. How did the Brewers sneak into this trade and get
no?
Weird.
Of course, the big name in your lineup that if you can keep him healthy, Christian Yelich,
I mean, he looks like the guy from a couple of years ago to me, some of these swings he was putting
on the ball. I mean, I got out to that hot start, but, you know, the problems, you know, it's the back stuff.
can his back be healthy enough.
But like what a nice addition to throw into your number three spot in the order in front of Madamas and Hoskins.
And you know, you've got some nice young talent on the team too.
So I'm pretty impressed.
The only thing I'm worried about if I'm the Brewers is is this pitching staff, which you talked about earlier,
is it going to be able to keep up?
Is this going to be something that can last when you're trying to survive with guys,
hopefully going four innings, guys that haven't been there before?
So will it last into the dog days?
that would be the biggest question mark for me for Milwaukee.
And by the way,
what you thought about how the brewers got William Contreras,
I thought a few years ago was like,
how weren't the brewers in this with trying to get Nolan Aronado?
What did they give up for him?
And when you guys got him,
I'm like, God, why aren't the brewers in something like this?
Yeah, that was not a fun day when you guys got Aronado.
I'm sure there's Cardo fans who are willing to send him here in a second.
But yeah, I mean,
long way to go in the season, as you know.
But I think still everybody's in this, everybody with the pirates.
I think this, you know, the Reds had their issue, continue to have their issues.
Yeah.
The Cubs are in it.
You know, the Brewers.
You know, I just think the Cardinals coming back and winning that game.
If you lost four games in the standings of the Brewers this weekend, that's a big swing from four to two taking, you know, the final game.
So I really look at it.
Chuck, they would have been 10 games behind you.
10 already if they didn't pick up a win today.
Yeah.
But still, you know, I even thought when you guys were like 15 and 30 last year, you were still in.
I was like, let those guys.
You never want to, you know, let them have any life.
But I really do think, you know, J.D., everybody's still in it.
There's a lot of baseball injuries are going to happen.
And I think Goldspitt is just too good.
And aeronado too good to not have big seasons yet.
And I think Goldie's going to maybe that'll spark him.
I hope not, but maybe it will.
Well, we won't see you guys for quite some time, I think, as far as having to play each other.
When do we, when do we play again?
I didn't check the schedule.
That's a great question.
We had played so much already that I am not entirely sure.
Like I said, you know, it's been, you guys are good.
And the only guys that we've really faced in the NL Central bar.
So it'll be a little bit.
I'll scour through this real quick.
quick to find it.
But one thing that you brought when you were talking about earlier, how you text me the other
day and you're like, is Ali Marmal's job on the line here?
If they got swept in this series, I wonder.
I kind of wonder.
Like, I still don't think he's going to get fired.
I think he's got the backing of, you know, the front office.
You know, they gave him the extension this off season.
So it's a, they believe in them.
They like him a lot.
But at some point, you got to, something's got to change, right?
you just can't keep doing this over and over.
Looks like we don't play again until August 20th.
Okay.
Wow.
That's,
we're going to go through the whole summer.
Football is going to be here.
We're going to be in training camp.
I don't know.
It might be a sore spot in St. Louis by saying football.
But, and you guys should have a team in the in St. Louis.
We got the battle hawks.
Caca!
We're fine.
Yeah.
Who needs the NFL.
Screw up.
Great show on turf, man.
That was in college.
That was huge, you know.
So, yeah, yeah, I love those teams.
But, yeah, you know, it's fun.
I love it.
You know, when the series ends in Milwaukee, I see the Cardinal fans going out with their cars in the parking lot.
I'm thinking to myself, win or losing.
I'm like, oh, now those guys, I hate to be those guys.
They got six and a half hours to drive through a state we both hate Illinois.
At least they're going home with a victory in their pocket.
Because that would have been a really bad taste.
to get swept four straight games in Milwaukee.
It would have been nine in a row,
but they escape with a victory.
And at least for one night,
Cardinals fan smile a little bit.
But Brewers,
still one of the top teams in the league right now.
I don't know how you're doing it with this pitching staff.
I don't know, Judy.
You know,
you lose your manager. You lose your top two pitchers.
And, you know,
the train keeps rolling.
So, you know,
more power to you guys right now.
You guys look good to me.
Well, let's keep this thing going.
It's going to be a fun summer, as I said.
And, yeah, I mean, good luck out that West Coast road trip.
You know, the Angels are bad.
But, I mean, I think they took one of their games against Kansas City this weekend.
Long way to go.
Got to stay.
Health is always the key.
At least this is some good advice from somebody outside of the Cardinal Circle here
because they've heard me say it over and over.
Oh, it's early.
It is.
Blah, blah, blah.
This is somebody who sees the big picture.
It's a long season.
And hopefully something like today can get them moving in the
